Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast network.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's Fleet and Haley's a little bit of pod. Welcome
to a little bit of Pod.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
And we're back from holidays and we were very fortunate
enough to go to Europe, Haley and I.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
I had so many messages by the way of people
enjoying our Ask me anything from when we were away, right, yeah,
particular episodes people were really enjoying. Right okay, ye, So
if you missed those and you're just listening to us today, catchup.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
We've been away and we did that. It was great.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Now Haley and I saw each other at the start
and end of our holidays.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Your little book end, because we.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Flew over to Paris and back from Paris.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
They had Paris.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
The last day in Paris, we just went out and
it just got drunk.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
We got so drunk during the day, but it was
because the cocktails. They were great and we were people
watching and and I'm sorry, but we're moving to Paris
because the people are just hot a there, do you know?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
And what I love about Paris they have the seating
outside cafes and restaurants. They seat you towards the foot, yeah,
not to fucking talk to each other.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
You just face out the street and there was a
guy playing the saxophone, and like, this is brilliant.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
And we just hopped at different bars, having different Hugo
sprits at each bar, check.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Out the talent, and then get ourselves in a taxi,
which I fucked up.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
There was fuck up. One other day, I bought it
for two days.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Lady I had Haley Hailey was a fucking nightmare born.
Do you know what on the last.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Day, I was a fucking nightmare.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
You're a nightmare.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Worse.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
It gets so much worse, gets so much worse than
booking a taxi for two days time.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, and and and we're like, okay, that's the time
we need to leave. I said, oh, book the train
system of fun because BTAS was in Paris on the
day and we had to go past stud to France.
And we were like, nah, we'll get this, saying I've
booked it, don't you worry.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
And then I was like, I haven't heard from him.
I haven't heard from this.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Fucking taxi driver. And I look, and I said, because
I booked it for Sunday and it's Friday. So very
quickly we get an over. We sit in an hour
twenty traffic, and I will say if we caught the train,
even with BTS, it would have been forty five minutes.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Hailey had put in the wrong Charles to Goal. Apparently
there's something else called Charles to Goal, not the airport.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Well, that's after a very famous Frenchman, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yes, he's driving and we're like, traffic's horrendous and I
was like, oh, it says we're like fifteen minutes away
from the airport.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
We're still in central Paris.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
And then I was like, why he's driving us to
the Arc de Triomph and he was like, yeah, it's
called Charles de girl Ark to Triomph anyway.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
So change that. And then we get to the airport.
Everything's fine, right for a while, we're pretty pissed.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, sits down on a runway and makes me do
a photo shoot with him.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
On the travel lad It was this really called like
seventies airport and we just did a little photo shit.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
That was fine. And then so we decide we've got.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Five and a half hours in Singapore our layover, and
rather than just sit at the airport, I was like,
why don't we get an uber into Singapore? We'll have
a dinner at the waterfront. It's beautiful and big. More
go back Marina Sands or whatever it's called. Yeah, and
then we'll go back refreshed perfect. Yeah, yeah, we do that.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
We get into Marina Sands, personing down with rain. By
the way, the view is nothing. It's monsoon season. And
we sat down with great meal and we have a
singapore slangy and a little panda having a great time.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
So you were pouring more boos on the situation.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
And the more and Haley's like, I'm going to get.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Some because when I was overseas, my doctor dre beats
then split. They're gone, gone, but I had him for
years and years and I knew when they broke, I
was going to get some air pods. And we're looking
out from our restaurant and we see this dome and
it is the Singaporean, one of the.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Apple stores in the water.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Amazing.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
You go under a bridge and an upper thing.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
It's an architectural wonder.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yes, So two more cocktails on board. We're going there
and I say to the guy, I'm here for the
air pods I want.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
He starts it all out. He's great. Air Right, We
get them.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
You get your little tax free thing back.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Yeah, he does the tax bag jumping.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
The Uber back to the airport.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, we get out, go to get out, pick up
our baggage that we've left there.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
And I just say, oh, fletch, I've left them in
the in the taxi.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Wait, so you hadn't even had time to peer them
to your phone, so you can do that.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
And I'm like, fuck, you could not be any more
of a fucking nightma travel.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Where's the pitts?
Speaker 5 (04:17):
And then oh yeah, look I'm looking at the Apple store.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Now it's gorgeous.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I'll be a bit dazzled by that.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
To be honest, here's a situation.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
It's not a taxi company, it's not an uber, which
would be easy to go, oh shit, it's this weird
app that's another app.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
And you go in and your message him being like,
we've left something in the car. Can you turn around? Nothing?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
I turn on by the way, this is lead in
the company. No, I turn on my roaming for the
business thing to call him. It's and I just I'm
packing a set. At this point, I say I need
to take a person. We're just going.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
But they're just gone. They're gone.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Fletch finally manages to get hold of him, and he says,
fifteen or twenty minutes he'll.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Come back, and then he does.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
We're getting them back only because Fletch sorted it out,
and which I'll say, the English was limited.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Flinch's screaming and him.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Like door four. I wasn't screaming. I was very very yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
We read about eight cocktails at this point, and I
sit outside and wait for him, and he pulls up
and he just hands a little Appleberger and I've got
my I was like, oh my god, this is like
I'm a sorry happy ending and it does that, and
I can see his beautiful bright eyes waiting for a
little something, a little tip, and I aren't heavy, so
(05:29):
I make Fletch tip him in the app. So Fletch
has not only sort of my problem, but he's paying
for it as well.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Now, how much varn could you just google?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
It was five Singaporean dollars that we tipped on.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Five Singaporean dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
The New Zealand dollars.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Turn around six dollars sixty four at current exchange rate.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
I tell you what she's dropped.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
The way if you've done this on Monday the twenty
ninth of June. You'd be in for a more fortuitous play.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Much did she pay this man to drive twenty minutes
back to their dollars dollars?
Speaker 4 (06:02):
I didn't pay him six dollars. Flips you did?
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Yeah, it's on my app.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
It's on his app.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
You should have given that man what we paid in
the fear.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
But I had no. I didn't have Singapore on dollars.
I just had nothing. We just went in for a
meal and bought some ear pods and then lift them.
And that's a six dollars kiss my fucking night mare.
I need a mask on. I would have ord a
tongue for what he did to me.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Where are they?
Speaker 4 (06:27):
I've got them quite uncomfortable. This was my fear.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
This was.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
AND's got something in my ears?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
My tragis it hurts.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Have you got a tiny air hole?
Speaker 4 (06:40):
I've got minuscule ear holes.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Right, you'll get used to them. I was the same.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I was a little bit because the little beats were
all sort of soft and squashed. These are no but
the sound call it is thickened to none. But yeah, anyway,
nearly translate. I haven't I put it on there. It's
said what languages and I just tipped all the brown ones.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
That was what when we were on holiday. That's what NDC.
She's like, do you want to know what those people
are saying? And like turned it on and could like
listen to other people's conversations.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's slow, it's not it's not my dream.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
When when you know some small Asian ladies doing my feet,
you can hear what they and you can hear them
being like oh, and I'm like, tell me.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
That could be a curse, that could be a cause.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
You don't want to know what everybody's thinking about.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
I'm aware of this of the scratch on the hand,
the scratch
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Feel anyway, lovely to be back and ear pods and
I tell you what, they're uncomfortable
