Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the ZDM Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Network, it's Fletchborn and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome
to A Little Bit of Pod. Now, I always carry,
for long-time listeners, you might know this, for relative newcomers,
I've made it a thing of my... Of course, how
do I welcome? I always carry a lighter and a knife.
You don't smoke and you don't cut a lot of things.
You don't kill. But, the amount of... Whenever we get
(00:24):
a package at work, boom, can I buy a knife
from this package?
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Or.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
We need to light this or I've got a thread
in my thing. Can you light it? So it doesn't.
I just use my big house key to open boxes. Yeah,
me too. Rips through sellotape. Although the other day I
did when I put my key in the, I think
I put a bit of sellotape in the lock. It's
been a bit jiggly.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Ah, it's like, I think I left a bit of
cotton bud in my ear today.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
You know, it just catches a bit. They should, yeah,
they should really stay onto the plastic handle, shouldn't they?
They really should. So you think you've got a bit
of sellotape jammed in your lock? I may have, yeah,
because you know when it's still on there from the
box cut? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then it gets caught
in there. Oh, no, I don't like that. No, no.
How would you ever get that out? If you carried
a knife.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
True. So I've always got to remember. In fact, I think.
And it's a lovely knife. You crafted this, didn't you? No, no, no, no, no, no. No,
this knife was purchased from just a knife shop because
I lost my last and I just needed a knife.
And I saw this one. I kind of like it.
It's like, I don't, I can't remember. There is a
name for this, but it's not spring loaded. It's just
got this lever thing. It's fun to play with. It's
pretty sharp. I cut myself on it a few times,
(01:25):
but the other day I was going through a metal
detector being run by law enforcement and I completely forgot
I had it in my pocket. Now at the, at the,
airport i was able to put in my check-in yep
but i completely forgot and then i had to look
at this guy and he was like carrying any metal
and i was like what is it i said it's
a knife and he was and i said it's just
(01:46):
it's just and he's like what's it for and i
said and then i just was like well i'm you
know i live on a farm yep exaggerate family right
lifestyle block at max i'm a farmer he said uh
and it's just used for cutting things he's like what
kind of things you cut with that it's like anything
mate you know like if i need to sharpen something
or or cut some twine and he's like all right
and he gave me a little raffle ticket it was
real cute he put a little raffle thing through the
(02:08):
knife and it was and he's like you come back
and it was actually really cool you come back and
see me at the end of the day and grab that.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It's so weird like because like i i always go
off on metal detectors because one of these is cheap
on one of my bangles is cheap oh yeah but
i i would I'm always nervous about it that they're
going to get all suspicious, but you literally set it
off and the one thing they found was a knife.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's just so not good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not great,
not great. That a knife. But like that happens at
the airport all the time and they're like, oh, you
can't take these scissors on. And it's just like. Yeah,
there should be more like punishment, right? Yeah, it's crazy.
But the whole thing's theatrical, isn't it? The people at
the airport, they're like, ah, and they'll throw it in
the bin. And these guys are like, ah, no, that's cool, man,
(02:50):
that's cool. And this was like a law enforcement. They're like,
that's cool, just come back and get it later. And
then I came back and got it later and it
had shifted and I was wondering who was coming back
for that. And I was like, thank you very much, Lee.
Popped it in the pocket and away I go. But
it was just sort of a timely warning for our
pocket knife carrying listeners.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Do you get pulled up at the airport because of
your lighter and stuff?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Because that's always a bit annoying. If you have it, no,
they spot it. It's one of the things that makes
your bag go down that other little alleyway where it
gets to the thing and goes sideways. And it's just
so every now and then you can flick it. Like that.
And light things.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
He did it in the lift the other day and
that felt like we were going to get in trouble
in the lift. I reckon you need.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
A diagnosis? I was going to say riddling. Yes.
