Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. The weekend has gone,
I was in an airport lounge. I won't mention what
lounge it is.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
This guy can't stay home for a weekend. Wellington, no
lounge at the moment.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Oh my God, hon, darling, darling, darling, you're burnt down, darling.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
So I got there on Sunday morning and I hit
you up. I went and bought a coffee. And I
had to buy the food.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Darling, hold your bloody horses.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
What happened to the Wellington Lounge?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Darling, there was a fire, darling.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Oh, fuck.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I thought it was a renovation.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
No, it's a renovation because it was a fire, darling.
Because of a fire.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Lovely time for a renovation.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
And then I was flying city to city and it said,
I'm sorry, darling, you.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Can't even pop into regional.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
You can't pop into regional. It's too busy, too small.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
It was awful.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So you had to buy a coffee. It's the food, darling.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Actually, I'm receiving tase and pays as well.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
And maybe we could start a, give a little, some
kind of fundraiser.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Well, when I went to the cafe that was not
in any way associated with the lounge, I showed them
my quarter membership and I was like, I don't have
to pay for this fucking coffee, do I?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
And they're like, that's nothing to do with us.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I was like, are you kidding me? They weren't just
ticking it up to Air New Zealand.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
To Air New Zealand.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
There's an Air New Zealand tab.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
So I was in the lounge and I just, I'd
got up to get a coffee or go to the
bathroom or whatever it was, I forget. And I saw a,
One of the people that's in charge of the lounge
or that goes around and cleans up all the cups
and stuff, telling off a boomer couple because she was
wrapping up food and muffins.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
No, you're not allowed.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
And putting them in her handbag. And I walked past
at the moment. She was saying, food must be consumed
in the lounge. You're not allowed to take it. And
they just looked so guilty and just.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
It's like, though, when you're away on holiday and there's
maybe a breakfast buffet situation.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Oh, my God, I do that.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
You know, when we were in Bali.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, I do that.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
And you're like, shit, we don't know when we're going to,
you know, what time's lunch, what's going to be later.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Take a banana and apple.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Have a little fruit or something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Get Hayley's handbag and stuff it in.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
You've got to be subtle about that. Yeah, you do.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
You've got to be subtle about this. Also, I'll say,
my experience in the Air New Zealand lounge is this.
It's never a good apple to take with.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
No, it's Braeburn. It's a flowery Braeburn. It's a flowery Braeburn.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
It's a flowery Braeburn.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
They feel like they're getting seconds out of this.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah. I don't know, but either way, yeah, they were.
How much were they taking? Were they being ridiculous?

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I could, when the moment I looked, I saw her
pulling a muffin out of her bag, her handbag. Caught.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
And it was in a, like a serviette. It's just,
I would say, don't do that again. That's not what
that's for. But I'm not like, unload it, because it's
got to go in the bin. Yeah, I mean, it's
not like they can put it back.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
But I just thought it was so funny, because it's
absolute boomer behavior.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Well, it's just trying, it's, They only put that rule
in place because they don't want people to take the piss.
Because if you don't make that a rule, you could
literally take... Take bottles of wine. Bottles of wine, the
whole kitchen, trays of things.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
But a little muff in the handbag.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I'm not begrudging a muff in the handbag.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Sneak a muff, have a little snack on a muff later.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
If I'm hungry, I'll be like... A bit peckish, need
a bit of a muff. Got one in my handbag.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, and those little wee ones, they're snack size.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
They're not like a proper muffin size.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Did she look embarrassed?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, they both looked embarrassed, her and her husband. You
can see the husband was like, Jesus Christ. I bloody
told you, Cheryl.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Oh, you reckon he wasn't on board?
