The Hierarchy Breakfast, Get your insulation jobs sorted with Bunning straight.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Jerry and m I The Darchy Breakfast.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
It's Radio Haddock's day. I'll tell you it's hot.
Speaker 4 (00:10):
And up up here a top the sky to our
two hundred meters above the Auckland CBD, Lee Heart joins us.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Now, good morning Lee.
Speaker 5 (00:18):
Yeah, good morning fell It is great to be here
on this beautiful day.
Speaker 6 (00:20):
And what a great occasion, what a great building, as
you put it out, a great spot.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
It does. It feels like we're in nineties. Radio Jock
might have sat back in the day.
Speaker 5 (00:29):
And yeah, imagine that.
Speaker 6 (00:30):
Imagine this was the studio compared to the kind of
the ship one you have now. I mean, it's kind
of It puts you in the mood, doesn't it. You
feel if you look professional, you feel.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
Professional, your sound professional.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, and you've always said that. It definitely is better
than the view of the alley behind work where everyone
goes to smoke before.
Speaker 5 (00:47):
Words chicken chop.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah, it does. Hey, we're talking to We've got the
legends of TV coming in throughout this morning. We've talked
about some of them, humiliating TV that Juram has made.
We talked to Wendy Petrie about her most embarrassing TV moments.
You must have had a couple throughout the years.
Speaker 6 (01:05):
No, No, I can't say I have. I can imagine
that Randy would have you seen her in nearly days.
It took a while before she became a professional. No,
I never really did. I always found myself quite professional,
and if it did come across unprofessional, I just cut
it out.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
I'm not stupid. Now they're short. There was plenty of things.
I think.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
Doing a press conference, an Aussie rugby world cap with
Eddie Jones in the room, a big press conference, you know,
sixty seventy people and I somehow fell through the Venetian
blinds and they fell on top of me. Like it
wasn't so much to fell on top of me. I
could have had to do any journal. It was the
way I was trying to.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Get out of them. It was really protracted, and it
went on for.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
A few minutes, and I lost my broadcasting my well
not my full but not my full accreditation, but my
press conference creditation.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
For you and a half years, you.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Know, I I remember that well, that that for car
that you had with the with the Venetian blind. Also,
I remember it as an incident in Australia at one
stage with a brown snake and a rental car.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Oh yes, yep.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
We did get some complaints from the animal groups, as
you'd expect. I was in an Adinburg type sort of piece,
I suppose in the outback brown snake, but they can
be nasty and they've got a bad bite in them.
I was explaining to the viewers about the snake. The
snake chased me. So I got into the rental car,
(02:32):
chased the snake myself and the rendalm car. I got
ahead of the snake, managed to.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Get on top of it, ran it over with the
back wheel.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
The snake, of course, I thought what was dead, as
it would be when you know, with the rendal cart
salut and it started moving again. I freaked out, so
I jammed the snake's head in the driver's door I
think the driver's door here, and then indeed did kill
the snake and we had a few complaints from the ANI.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Yeah, Peter, Peter, Paul and Mary.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Also the Football World Cup going on at the moment.
You've done a lot of sporting journalism in your time.
Did you ever follow the FIFA Football World Cup around
it all.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
No, no, I.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Sort of always had a sink with that and it's
grown over the years. I think the football's huge in
New Zealand now, which is great to see it.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Great.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
So when I started back in sports, if it wasn't
actually rugby was everything, I suppose he had halfway back
to the eighty one or something that remember that that
was the big The Springbook Tour.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
No no, the World Cup eighty no, no, the.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Football there you go eighty two.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
That mean that was bigger. I remember that.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
I forget that.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
I remember that. Who can forget it? But then I
forgot every other one?
Speaker 7 (03:46):
But until now the other great such I mean there's
men And I pointed out you have been involved behind
the scenes and a huge amount of coverage of different
sporting events.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
So years the Olympics, I believe you covered the London Olympics.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
You ended up with accreditation.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
You got into a whole lot of events just by
sticking some highlighters to a lanyard.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Yeah, well that's right. So why wasn't even the lanyard?
Speaker 6 (04:13):
So in United you have these lanyards that says you're
a code blue, Code red, you can go to this
area you know, high tech stuff.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
I just had a pack of that. It depends with
the lanyard strap on it.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
And from a distance, that pretty much got me into
most events, most venues, most after matches more.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
To the point, which was good. But yeah, you're rightly.
I did the Athens Olympics.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
I covered that mainly from if I believe, Italy in
London to.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Give some perspective, I mean to Athens once.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
I did the Beijing Olympics from La Disneyland specifically, I
stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and cover it from there again.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
To give you need a bit of distance on these
kind of events.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
So the Beijing Olympics in La.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Yeah, yeah, I mean we were getting feeds, you know,
updates before they were getting them because they they were
two hours ahead, you know. So we love the info
we were getting where we're going to air a day
a day behind, but two hours ahead if not. I mean,
so it was up to date. But well we were
doing updates.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
That's visually, whatever it was, it was, it would happen.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
It was something, it was something, and.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
It was different.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah, it really was different.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
We're here to raise awareness for bow cancer New Zealand.
You can text lou to three for three for a
donation link. You can also head today in lou dot
Coton and z for the online symptom checker. Of course,
blood in your poos or on the toilet, paper, change
in your bowl, habits for a few weeks, something that
(05:43):
lasts a few weeks anyway, I'm going tummy pain, cramping, bloating, discomfort,
of course, a lump or swelling in your tummy, feeling
unusually tired or lacking energy, something that you've had recently, Lee,
And unexplained weight loss.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
As well, something I haven't had, but.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Well, as as Peter Haskinson pointed out earlier on, people
who do have some unexplained weight loss sometimes say this
is a fantastic thing. I'm doing exactly the same thing
that I was normally doing. I'm just saying, to be
losing weight.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's working.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
It's a good reason to go to the GP at
that stat.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
But get right, you got to keep an eye and
eye on those things. And yeah, they can just you know,
you can easily not think about it.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
You know, you think it's I'm just going through a
bad couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah, Lee, hearts with us. This is radio Haadockes Day
and Lou supporting Bow Cancer New Zealand.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Jerry and Mini the hold I keep breakfast Day.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
And Lou with a view two hundred meters app Aukland's
iconic skytower. It's all an aid of support for Bow
Cancer New Zealand charity. This one hundred percent community funded
for donations. Just takes Lou to three four eight three
and follow the donation like man Heath joins us.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Now, giddo, mate, gid.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
A, guys, I can't believe we're eating park it. I know.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Oh my god, someone's just walking past us out on
the railing. N Oh my god. He's been way too
nonchal long about that.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
We've got a jumper. But that's I thought I didn't
have to work. This is what I've got to apparently
do later on. But I didn't think that I had
to walk out around there. I thought I was on
the bit.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
That had the wear railing to whistle like is it
doesn't look like much. You'll probably fall off jury. Oh
this is the thing. I've got terrible balance.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
Yeah, you walk like a ninety year old man with
a character.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I know.
Speaker 8 (07:22):
Yeah, they haven't designed that walk track for that kind
of gait.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
No, I know, and I'm not wearing a shoe that's
particularly grippy either.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
I'm wearing a loafer.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Twice in the last calendar year has fallen over on
flat land. I don't know how he's going to go
out there.
Speaker 8 (07:34):
This could be the last you ever Manaia and Jerry show.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah, yeah, Well, if you don't want me to walk
around the outside of the skytower, just text lou to
three for three and followed the donation link and as
much money as possible please, and I won't walk around.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Do you know what?
Speaker 8 (07:50):
I think this is a raised awareness of two things,
one bell cancer and good on you for doing that,
and also the strange geography of Auckland. I don't think
you've got to come up here to realize that everything's
in the wrong place.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Have they turned it around?
Speaker 8 (08:01):
I think they might have.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
They turn Auckland to any three degrees. I think so,
because there's no way that my house is over there
and that Eden Park is over there. There's my house
is over the air Apparently you're right next to the
airport from the looks of it here.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
That's right, and my house is just over here.
Speaker 8 (08:17):
But stupid do they think we are.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
It's the constantinople of the South Pacific, isn't it Auckland.
In a lot of ways, it's the meeting. It's the
meeting of two land masses.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
You've got the North and you've got the South that
comes in and then a narrow a little bit that
all of the traffic has to go through.
Speaker 8 (08:34):
I'll tell you what I'll be bringing up on my
new Stalks B show this afternoon. No need for congestion chart.
I can't see any traffic. It's basically empty. I saw
this talk about Auckland traffic. There's none of it. I
can't even see a car.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Well, to be fair, we are looking at the leafy
suburbs of Ponsonby here, and they are empted that.
Speaker 8 (08:51):
I thought we were looking at downtown.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
The motorways are to stand still.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
You're right, there's no traffic down there.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
But I have a look across at the causeway there
at the Northwestern, and you'll see the cars crawling across there.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Not too bad, bumper to bumper, not terrible, Matt. This morning,
we've been talking to legionds of television and asking them
about times where they have disgraced themselves. We've talked ignaise
them about times that Jerry's disgraced. Are there any times
that you remember Jerry disgracing himself on the TV?
Speaker 8 (09:19):
I mean, of course you've talked about the time with
the prostitute and the cricket helmet and the camera.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Right, you know what, we haven't talked about that, but
we can.
Speaker 8 (09:25):
Isn't that the biggest disgrace of your life? And then
your mum sat down with she was managing the New
Zealand netball team at the time, and they sat down
and we're like, hey, we'll watched your son's show. So
Cheryl sits down with the netble team and the under juris.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I think, yeah, she wasn't really that keen.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
And then you choose on that particular episode because prostitution
had just become legal, so it was perfectly legal for
you to make love to a prostitute on television. You
take the one used live I outside, so you parke
the ob truck out.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
You go on.
Speaker 8 (09:58):
Back then there were small camera so you've got quite
a large VHS camera on your head.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Oh Jesus has come back past on one foot.
Speaker 8 (10:05):
He's going on.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
That's how I should do it.
Speaker 8 (10:07):
He should do that, and then so you go into
the to the house of disrepute and make love to
the prostitute. Your mum watches it and she never mentions
it to you, but members of the team have since
mensaged it.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Well, I was in the supermarket and ran into Bernice
Mini silver Ferns great, and she mentioned it to me.
I didn't know anything about it until she mentioned it
to me. She is so funny, how and when we
were watching that program with you, I had no idea
she'd never said anything about it. I think the bit
that disturbed my mum the most was that I was
struggling to finish, and then it.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Was the photo and that's not the sun.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
She raised the picture the poster of the New Stork
ZB lineup, which you were now part of, Matt, but
in those days weren't.
Speaker 8 (10:52):
I if I was part of it back then, you
would have finished.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Straight into you. But in this situation, I just zoned
in on Murray Deeca. Yeah, that got me over. That's
hard to finish with. Murray must forget yours, please.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Anything.
Speaker 8 (11:11):
Murray's not giving you anything.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Have you noticed looking out over the Auckland Metropolis the
amount of white houses with gray rooms. Yes, it's a
bit like it's like Mikonos or Santorini out there.
Speaker 8 (11:24):
What it is is people buy properties with the thoughts
of selling them in the future, so they don't like
to make a statement, yes by painting them in a
country a color they actually laugh.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
That may offend someone. That's everyone except for the golf warehouse.
It was a Heenus color of asparagus.
Speaker 8 (11:39):
Wheeze it as capital gain shrew white. Yeah, but you've
got to say the golf wearehouse painting themselves yellow, brilliant worked,
It sticks out. It's the only color in the entire skyline.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Absolutely work. Nothing that your family ever brings up about
some you know, something that you've done on TV.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
Akin to that story, I was censured by the now
defunct Broadcasting Standards Association.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
They're actually still going for another month.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
So just right they might go out, you know, with
a wrap and animals backed into the corner, come out
fighting at the end, try and take a few people down.
But yeah, I made love to similar to to Jerry,
I was making love on TV to the exhaust pipe
of a car and even though it was blurred, they
still said they asked if you did it, and I
(12:26):
was like, well, yeah, well you know, they asked the
TV company whether we did it, and we said he
did it. And so even though it was blurred the
fact that it had happened was enough for what we
should have said is we didn't do it.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yeah, so you were made to pay? Did you get
a slap over the wrist with the wet We.
Speaker 8 (12:44):
Were doing a story on autophilia the attraction to cars,
a TV series called Assholes.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
What you meant to do?
Speaker 4 (12:52):
If you if you're doing a story and art sohole
it's called so you know, what would you do apart
from maglove to a case a story about that without
doing that?
Speaker 8 (13:00):
It would be hypocritical to do a story on order
filire without experiencing it.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, that's right. It's a victimist crime as well. It's
the victim exactly, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 8 (13:08):
Yeah, I'll never go for a Honda Civic. Yeah, it
was a two thousand and five Commodore V six.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
I believe damn they've got a decent exhaust.
Speaker 8 (13:17):
But we needed a reasonable reasonable you know.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah, yeah, purchase society.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
You wouldn't want to like a Master RX three with
a two and a half inch big boar all the
way through.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Would you na?
Speaker 8 (13:29):
Now you wouldn't, would you?
Speaker 4 (13:31):
So your greatest moment on television was making.
Speaker 8 (13:35):
It's better than what you did? Well, I don't know
that actually, to be fear, you were trying to you
were really highlighting the plight of sex workers. We knew
it was sort of a kind of a almost charity
like this, wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
We got a lot of trouble from one news because
we didn't tell them that the Live I was going
to be doing what it was doing.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
We just starts to borrow it.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
And the head of News and Is at the time,
Paul Cutler, found out about it later when he watched
it on TV and banned us from ever using any
news archive or ever stepping frought in the newsroom ever again.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Wow, yeah, now I'm back. So it's what make it.
Speaker 8 (14:13):
They can film like a horrific car crash, they can
film a building burning down with multiple fatalities, they can
film all kinds of horrors. But you making gentle love,
simple love to a sex worker who was in on it,
consentually paid well yep, just doing what she loved doing. Yeah,
(14:34):
and that's too good.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
For the line they draw the line of love.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
I think it was the Marray Deeker was the problem.
I think that was what was going on.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
This is Radio Hurdeck's day on the Radio, Jerry and Mini,
The hold Iarkey Breakfast, Jerry and the Night, The hold
Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Radio Hurarches, Day and Low.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
It is nine minutes past eight acc head g Lane
joins us atop the sky two hundred meters up.
Speaker 10 (15:01):
Great to be here, great to be here, to have
you have you?
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Can you see your house from up here?
Speaker 11 (15:06):
No, I'm more of the north side, y face. You're
facing west. I don't really mix with the west more.
I'm more on the northern beaches.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Well, you're mixing with the wrong people here, because both
Manaia and I we can see our houses from here.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yeah. Well, I mean I can't. I can't see that far.
But Jerry's is just right over there.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
And you're just over You're over there. It's great radio.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
I'm just down here, yeah, ge Lane. In a few moments,
I've been coduled. Well, people are still attempting to couldule
me to do the skywalk, yes, which is walking around
the outer ring of the observation deck here on the
top of the sky tower, you have.
Speaker 11 (15:44):
To say, probably a width of about just under a meter. Yeah,
caged kind of situation.
Speaker 10 (15:50):
I mustn't know.
Speaker 11 (15:51):
I got asked to do it as well, and I've
foisted it straight onto you because I feel I used
to be okay with heights, and as I've got older,
I've turned into a met pussy. And whenever I get
to heights, my toes start to hurt.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
If you get that nice, you.
Speaker 11 (16:06):
Get that toes hurt, and my perineum gets tight, my
toes curl. I don't know what it is, but it
came to age because as a two year old, I'd
run there on there with a G string on, you know, like,
but now I can't.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I just we just saw a guy come running past.
He didn't have a G string on that we could
see at.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Least he's running.
Speaker 10 (16:24):
Yeah, I saw that he was running.
Speaker 11 (16:26):
He was it was a bit of a swinging minerver.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
He was showing off. He walked past, whistling. Then he
came past, basically swinging out on the rope that's tied
to or railing above the thing that that that give
you confidence that speak a bit more.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
I don't know it opened the possibilities to crawling, and
I am I feel I'm safer on all fours.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I'd be happy to get our air on all fours.
Speaker 11 (16:48):
I think you're more comfortable on all fours with an
eight ball strapped in your mouth and some sort of
leather situation.
Speaker 10 (16:54):
I think if you would be the first ever person.
Speaker 11 (16:57):
In history to crawl the ext area of the sky
tower in leathers with an eight ball in your mouth,
so I'm look, it's you know, will full world first here?
Speaker 1 (17:07):
And if it would ease your stress in any way,
I think I'm not.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
There's no stress season going on here. I'm getting more
and more nervous as this break goes on.
Speaker 11 (17:16):
Well, maybe you can go on all forwards to the
eight ball and I could be behind you saying creepy
things and to just move you on a little.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Bit, perhaps whipping you like your father is better.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Now this is getting is getting I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I think it's bad enough to get out.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
I think, particularly in the current weather conditions, A lot
of people experiencing weather around the country, a lot of wind,
a lot of rain, lots some snow in the south.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Beauty, I'm gonna be honest, you wuldn't want an earthquake
quoiter out there, would you.
Speaker 10 (17:40):
How about well, let's not about how about it.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
There's a lot of them around here too, volcanic activity.
Speaker 11 (17:45):
We're here, you know, prostate cancer? About cancer? Sorry, but
how about I go behind you with my finger in
your butt?
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Okay, so you do a? You do A again?
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Isn't that more of a prostate?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Wow? I think we're confusing things.
Speaker 11 (18:02):
Then, Wow, it's kind of in the same area. Well
what if I put a GoPro up there and then
there's that kind of similar, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
You realize that we're on the air right now.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
That's probably getting closer to a colon hospital. Well, nowadays
I think the tests are a little less invasive, so
you may not necessarily need anything inside. Did Jared?
Speaker 11 (18:19):
I wasn't saying it was anything to do with the testing.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
I mean it would be your first.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
It would be the highest, the world's highest colonoscopy, I
believe if we could do it out there.
Speaker 10 (18:30):
I've been pretty high.
Speaker 11 (18:31):
I was pretty high when I got my colon, so high,
but when they when I went and got a colonos
I've had a couple now the first, anethetist said to me,
I'm going to give you what Michael Jackson was on,
And I was like, is that what you tell everyone
is that I'm going to give you what Michael Jackson
was on because he died.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I thought he was on proper file. I thought that's
the one that makes you go to sleep.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
He put on Macaulay Culkin. Hey, coming up next to season,
you can't talk about that man. He's got to move
you out.
Speaker 10 (18:56):
Everyone loves them again.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Oh look, I'm not saying that happened to your own
recent Coming up next, does this fell you with Tara Jerry?
It just says in the dock, Jerry does the sky?
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Well the thing from here it's okay because I'm looking
out at the ring. I'm looking at the ring and
it looks okay. It's different than looking down through the
grill at your feet, which you've got to look at
because you've got to walk around an eight hundred mil
walkway no handrail.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
I thought there's a hand rauf for a while. There
apparently no handrail.
Speaker 10 (19:22):
And you've got a rule, doc, And I'll tell you what.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
The guy's setting it up. Look particularly hung over this
morning to.
Speaker 10 (19:27):
He'm Stone, good luck.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
This is Radio Haddocky's day.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
And lo there Jerry in the night, the Hodkey, Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Mania and g Lane in this morning now, because Jerry
has just been sent off to do the paperwork, there
is an insurance form that he needs to sign off
saying that if you fall off the side of this thing,
that's your fault.
Speaker 10 (19:48):
Absolutely.
Speaker 11 (19:49):
If you know, as you're unfamiliar to Skytower in Auckland,
there is a tourist attraction in which you can walk
the circumference of the skytower on what is a ninety
sent to me to grill. You are attached to some
sort of railing above, So I mean you literally can't
fall off bat well still multi terrifle.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
You can fall off, you just won't hit the ground.
And I think the falling part is the part that
would kill me. What I found funny, and we were
just talking about it off here, is that Jerry was
all gung ho and the lead up to this and
even this morning he felt fine with it. Even when
we because we got here so early we had to
take the service elevator up to the top here. Can't
see out that one. He was fine when we sat
down the sun hadn't risen. He was fine. When the
(20:30):
sun came up, he started getting a bit wobbly on it.
When that guy came running past on the thing before,
he got a little bit wobbly on it. And when
it came time to actually because it snuck up on
him to actually do it, he has entirely lost his bottle.
He's going to do it because there's a lot of
people are out ye, and so there's a lot of pressure.
There are cameras around. I mean, you know, he's made
(20:50):
a career off doing it for the camera. But I
will say I've not seen Jerry the Skid to do anything.
Speaker 11 (20:56):
That's good stuff. I'm enjoying how uncomfortable he is. But
obviously we're up here for radio. Heard his day in
lou about cans in New Zealand. Now talk about some symptoms.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Jerry's about to display about three of them when he
walks out onto that yeah, correct, walkway.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
There, correct.
Speaker 11 (21:09):
So symptoms may include a bit of blood and your
poos are on the toilet paper. Yes, I think that's
probably if we're saying that with Jerry, he's probably a
bit of blood on touching cloth. So if he's gone
their changes in your bow habits that last for several weeks,
there's one. So one of that symptom there for me
is quite crucial because you can't count with booze poos,
(21:32):
So don't panic with booze poos.
Speaker 10 (21:33):
It's got to be over several weeks.
Speaker 11 (21:35):
Yeah, Because I mean there's a lot of times I've
eaten beetroot and the next morning I have basically booked
an appointment, gone to the emergency room and then they said,
did you eat anything last night?
Speaker 10 (21:44):
I said, yeah, I had a beetroots the speed.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I have heard of teachers checking bathrooms in the past
and the whole school had had a lunch of beetroot
and that looked like a murder scene in there.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (21:55):
So yeah, don't don't worry about that ongoing tummy paine, cramping, bloating,
or discover for a lump or swelling in your tommy,
feeling and usually tired or lacking energy or unexplained weight loss,
which is not an issue I.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Have no nor I So that's probably the only one
that I haven't haven't displayed. So it's funny because we
talked to Peter Huskinson, who's the CEO of Bealcans in
New Zealand earlier this morning, and you can go back
and listen to on the podcast. I'm sure he described
a ven diagram that I am basically in the center of.
It was all of the lifestyle factors that can contribute
(22:27):
to a higher risk for this kind of thing. It's
eating too much red meat, eating too much processed meat, smoking, drinking,
not exercising, being fat, playing too much PlayStation, not listening
to your messages, all these kinds of things. Yeah, I
don't know, I wasn't listening, but all of those things
can can add up. And I think he's described most
(22:48):
of New Zealand blokes and not checking things. That's what
we do. The engine light comes on, you go, it'll
figure itself out and then it goes off again.
Speaker 10 (22:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (22:55):
New Zealand is one of the highest rates of bel
cans in the world growing.
Speaker 10 (22:59):
Yeah, three thousand, three hundred.
Speaker 11 (23:00):
He's under the diagnose each and every year.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
So to donate, text Lou.
Speaker 11 (23:05):
To three four eighth three you'll get the donation link.
You can also headlong to day and lou dot co
dot z for all those online symptoms self checked out.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Yes, and while you do that, we are going to
play a couple of songs here because Jerry is taking
flight from the other side of the sky tower this morning.
So we're going to play a couple of songs here.
You text Lou to three four eight three. We are
going to go and try and wind Jerry up, and
when we come back we will tell you how it
all went.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Jerry and min Night the Darkey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
We are here for a day and low atop the
Auckland sky Tower right now, Jeremy Wells is outside of
the building. He is in a humiliating orange jumpsuit. He
has not giving a great account of himself in the harness.
If I'm honest, Cheer Lane.
Speaker 10 (23:50):
No, he's not.
Speaker 11 (23:50):
He's He's dangerously uncomfortable, dangerously scared. He's out there with
young Zoey almost truck and trailering. He looking maybe potentially
to use her as I don't know, well, I mean,
if he falls, she's going as well.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, there's no helping there. There are two ropes. I
believe I saw him when he walked out onto the platform,
initially complaining about the elasticity of the rope. He wanted
something a little bit firmer that he could hold on to.
There is a lady out there with them that is
in charge of walking them around hand holdings. She's walking
backwards while filming them.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Well she is.
Speaker 11 (24:24):
They're about to come past and I'm just going to
give him it of a treat. If I don't know,
if you're family with the girl boy bulldog maneuver, where
you stand up? You tucky downstairs? It's girl boy. This
is the bulldog.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
G Lane is about to expose his buttocks and interestingly
beg Sandy is also about to run some poached eggs
on the window as well, a real treat for Zoe
and Jerry. She's deployed the poached eggs under the window.
G Laane is bulldogging out the back and Jerry, who
was gripping onto the rope for dear life, has has
(24:57):
caught and I follow the eggs on the window it
He now can't look back. He's looking again. He's now
clocked at g Lane's backside. He's not too happy with that,
but it looks like a welcome distraction from the terror
he's been feeling. The funny thing is he's walking like
a mummy out there. That's what he walks like. On
flat ground.
Speaker 12 (25:15):
Tell you what, oh oh, that is the grossest thing
I've ever seen in my life. There is a sweet
patch left from g Lane's buttocks.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
You can it has fogged up the window around where
his buttons were, and even left the Indians of the
hears of his anus on the window of the sky tower.
Another pointless world for his radio.
Speaker 10 (25:38):
I'd tell you what.
Speaker 11 (25:39):
The look on Jerry's face between Becker got Becker got
hers out and my butt was quite something. It was
to two big extremes anyway, good cause, all for a
good course.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Looking through the symptoms here and I think that's all
six of them have just left on the on the
window of the skytower. They're not taking a photo opportunity.
Zoey has spread her arms like Christ the Redeemer and Rio.
Jerry's having a crack but is not enjoying it. Look
how far Ford he's leaning.
Speaker 11 (26:04):
It looks really windy out. I really feel for him
because I couldn't do this. Well, good on for doing it.
Speaker 10 (26:09):
It's radio heard aches dayan.
Speaker 11 (26:11):
Lou if you've just joined us a full day up
here on the skytower. All in eight of bow cancer
in New Zealand. Something we old Coast I heart with
our good dear friend Henwood, who was on this morning.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Yes, Jerry's displaying about three of the symptoms right now
there on that thing. He's not picked appropriate footwear either,
and the Michael Hill jeweler. Oh my god, they've just
been forced to walk to the edge of the rail.
I actually can almost not look at it. Zoe's toes
are hanging off the end of it. She doesn't seem
to be worried about this at all, Jerry, not so
(26:45):
much as Michael Hill. Juela here cut is blowing in
the breeze, which was the first indication that it's not
as smooth out there as he thought it might be.
He was also forced to take his glasses off because
they were a falling hazard, despite the fact that he
had the loser strap around the back to hold.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (27:00):
Well, that completed the Michael Hill looke, didn't it. Thick
rimmed glasses.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Transitions lends us to so as soon as he walked
out there, they went dark. Now the problem is they
could have fallen and impaled someone on the footpath, so
they've asked him to take them off, which means he
now can't see. Everything's just the blurry miss to him,
which I think is actually helping with his courage. Here
they're being told to hold onto the rope. They're pointing
at us. Oh, they're going to lean out backwards off
(27:25):
the side of it. You can probably hear from the
groans around the studio with the makeshift out here. Oh,
the instructor is leaning backwards as if she's sailing down
the side of it. And she's now desperately trying to
convince Jerry he's not doing it. There's no way he's
doing it, is it. He's saying, I don't think so, Zoe.
(27:48):
He's going to have a crack man. She's fearless.
Speaker 10 (27:51):
I can't do this. I can't do this.
Speaker 11 (27:53):
I'm going to put my pants back on.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
She's not going to be able to do it. This
is lutely terrifying just just to watch it. I would
have been out there, but unfortunately someone needed to hold
the hold the fort down here.
Speaker 10 (28:06):
Yep, absolutely, hey Pole.
Speaker 11 (28:09):
Purpose of today raising funds for Bow Cancer New Zealand.
It's a charity that's one hundred percent community funded. For donations,
please text Lou to three four eight three for a donation.
All head to Dane Lou dot co don ins also
just here on the online symptom checker which you can
check out for yourself, which obviously Jeremy is completing half
of those while he's out there.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
On the skywalk.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
We're going to get housekeeping up here to wipe the
butt smears off the window from g Lane there, go
to an ad and when we come back, we'll tell
you if Jerry is still alive. We'll not stay with
us here on the Hodaky Breakfast Day.
Speaker 13 (28:41):
And Lou Jerry and Mania the Holdarchy Breakfast. Jerry and
Mania the hold Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
We are up the top of the Auckland Skytaiel for
the Radio Hodarchy Day in Lou with a view. That's
because Lane, New Zealand has one of the highest rates
of bow cancer in the world. Over three thousand and
three hundred New Zealanders are diagnosed every year in New
Zealand alone.
Speaker 10 (29:04):
It's terrifying.
Speaker 11 (29:04):
Yeah, but as I've had I've had a couple of
colons myself.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
You've had a couple of close calls.
Speaker 11 (29:08):
Oh yeah, I have had a couple of close calls,
so I'd highly recommend it.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
You'd recommend a close call.
Speaker 11 (29:13):
Yeah, I I wouldn't reommend a close call, but if
you get a chance to get checked out, I would
one hundred percent take it. But obviously you know the symptoms.
Once you got the symptoms, he can go get checked out.
But get checked out straight away too. I mean, talking
to your doctor about having a bit of blood in
your poos can often be a little bit awkward, but just.
Speaker 10 (29:32):
Tell yourself, I've heard worse.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Yeah, no, I've heard worse, and I've seen and this
is the job, this is what you're paying them for,
and they work for you. As I was saying this morning,
he's like, you're in charge of your health. They work
for you, so don't be afraid to go and tell
them anything. Hey, you got checked out. Just then, Jerry
walked fast on the infamous Skywalkie. Finally did it. He
walked around the outer ring here at the top of
the sky Tower, and he was greeted with a little
(29:55):
bit of moral support from you and Big Sandy's bit
running the poast eggs on the window, which he will
delighted to see.
Speaker 11 (30:01):
I mean, the look on his face was sheer, almost ecstasy.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Well, it went from absolute panic and terror to look
at that. And then as he panned along just another
meter and a half, he was greeted by the sweaty,
hairy backside of one G. Lane.
Speaker 11 (30:15):
Yeah, the look of terror on his face returned immediately
once he saw my buttocks on the window.
Speaker 10 (30:19):
But that was the idea.
Speaker 11 (30:19):
I was looking to shock him off the platform and
down to his imminent death.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
But it didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Just about shocked eminent death and the steam imprint of
your hairy buttocks on the window of the sky tore
another pointless world first.
Speaker 10 (30:34):
Yeah, absolutely, I mean it was.
Speaker 11 (30:35):
It's the classic boy girl bulldog maneuver you do in
a spa when you're nude in a spa, you stand
up and you announced to everyone boy and then you
tuck it all behind you say girl. Then you bend over,
put it end over and show them against the bulldog.
Speaker 10 (30:47):
So it's called the the boy girl Bulldog.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Remind me never to get in another spar pull with you, Lane.
We've been talking to some of the legends of TV
that have come through so far this morning. Whndy, Petri,
Lee Heart and now he Die Henwood. You'll be happy
to know Tony Street showed up. After you've pressed your
ass against the glasses. We'll talk in a few minutes.
We've been asking them about their most humiliating TV moments.
Now you've disgraced yourself many a time on TV, Yeah,
(31:12):
do any of them stand out? Do you? Well?
Speaker 11 (31:14):
The thing is, I mean, if you ask me, is
there any TV moment I'm proud of? And I'm none
of them? So it's quite hard to pick really, But
one of the probably the most embarrassing, not embarrassing, but
most awkward, was way back during the Poor Holmes Show.
Speaker 10 (31:26):
Now this is I'm talking early two thousands.
Speaker 11 (31:29):
I'd started the Beige Brigade with my good friend Paul Ford,
and during that time, I think it.
Speaker 10 (31:34):
Was, there was a big players strike.
Speaker 11 (31:36):
All the cricket players in New Zealand were threatening to
go on strike because their contract with New Zealand Cricket
was the collective contract was in negotiation. It wasn't going
well and they'd threatened to strike. So Paul Holmes production
team thought it would be a good idea to get
me on the Paul Holmes Show Live and my full
bage would go gear, Covet and Zinc.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Presumably they'd never met you before.
Speaker 11 (31:55):
No, they hadn't, So I find myself as a young
thruster and my kind of mid twenties in the studio
with Paul Holmes himself arguing or on the side of
the fans of what the fans think. And I didn't
cover myself in glory. And it was before social media anyhow,
so I didn't. I wasn't archives. It will be in
(32:17):
the archives.
Speaker 10 (32:18):
It will be in the archives somewhere.
Speaker 11 (32:21):
But what was the most awkward part of it is,
I didn't cover myself glory in the interview. But then
they went to an ad break and no one told
me to get off stage. So no one told me
to get off the set, so I remained sitting next
to Paul Holmes. And then he starts interviewing and no
one told me to get off, so I thought I
was stick around, So I just sitting next to him,
having a glass of.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Water like it's the Graham Norton Show.
Speaker 10 (32:42):
Correct.
Speaker 14 (32:42):
And then and then the next article after the break,
I'm still sitting there after the break is discussing this
new hangover pill with these this couple from christ To
say they haven't been to the hangover Pill.
Speaker 11 (32:55):
So they start explaining their pool. And then Paul Holmes
kind of gave me little bit of glad I and
I went, oh, look, I would take one part of
I'm a I'm a huge fan of me and he's
and then you could hear that, you could hear his
earpiece going off turned the Paul Homes intolet You Much
a Graham Norton show. And then immediately after there a
lady came on and she strong armed me off the set.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Where you probably pressed your us against the nearest available
window and fogged up.
Speaker 11 (33:21):
That was probably the start of me not actually caring
at all about what happens on TV or in the media.
Speaker 10 (33:26):
That gave me a pretty thick skin after that.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah, once you've done something like that, you're immune to
any kind of humiliation. As I mentioned, Tony Street is
now in the building. Jerry and Zoe have returned from outside,
so we'll go to an ad and we'll be back
with Tony Street and.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Jewey, Jerry and Mini the hold Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 4 (33:43):
It's ready had his day in Loo with a view
broadcasting from two hundred meters up Auckland's iconic sky tower.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Tony Street joins us. Now, Tony, thank you.
Speaker 15 (33:52):
Eyes, It's lovely to be here.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Well done, Jerry, Yes, congratulations, how you feeling.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Thanks, I'm feeling a million dollars after conquering that particular
fear that I had. I got to say, I couldn't
concentrate all morning.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
I'm sorry, but I no, no, I noticed.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
I've been struggling all morning because I've head in the
back of my head that I'm going to walk around there,
and I was like, maybe there's gonna be some way out.
You know, when you got something you're not looking forward to,
but you're still thinking there's a way out.
Speaker 15 (34:15):
Yeah, it's still not going to happen.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
You're bargaining what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
In my head, I was like, maybe I could get
away with this now.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
I thought, you know what, I'm sure it's safe, So
just tell yourself it's safe. Tell yourself it's safe. Nobody's
been injured doing this so far. So even though it
is completely as a monkey, it completely feels like something
you shouldn't be doing is being two hundred meters up
looking down off a railing.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
I think a monkey would have been fine up there.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
I don't think a monkey that much, to be honest.
Speaker 15 (34:43):
I actually just saw the tail end and it's a
beautiful view from up here. But what is that gold
awful smudge on the window?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Yeah, that's there was the worst part of the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
So I thought that I'd overcome a fear, but I
realized I also feared ge Land's ass in a much
more intense way than heights.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
So as a little bit of encouragement, Gulane and Big
Sandy's decided that they would provide a show for Jerry,
something to distract them, And so Beck went with poached
eggs on the window. And then Lane just pressed his
backside against the window so hard and so sweety that
the steam off of it left and in front of
(35:21):
both buttocks and some of the hears that are on
there as well.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
And a brown smudge man brown Smudge not a particularly
clean person here, Gulane, if.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
We weren't able to get housekeeping through here, although I've got.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
To say Big Sandy's and pressive upstairs operation, and it
was a real game of two halves comparing what Glaine
had to offer and then Big Sandy's. But anyway, that's.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Not what we We didn't bring you in for that day.
Speaker 15 (35:48):
I'm just glad I came just after that, but just
to see the smudge.
Speaker 5 (35:51):
It's not the heiry.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
I think we had the elevator on walkie Talk. It
was just hold Tony in at the bottom there for
a couple of minutes.
Speaker 15 (36:00):
Actually, I'm Glane's neighbor, so I'm used to this kind
of behavior, okay, And I've seen his buttocks too many
times for my liking.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Well, sometimes you do see too much of your co
host's body. I mean, for example, you must be sick
of seeing Sam's getting in and out of a shower.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
For example node on his Instagram.
Speaker 15 (36:19):
That was a new low, by the way, And I
just want to know, So Sam's done this, He's taken
to Instagram, and he's done a day in the life, yep.
And he's given us way too much of his day,
including hopping in and out of the shower. And I
just want to know how many takes he got because
he has turned at the perfect time and so you
saw everything but his appendage.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yeah, it seems to me that half of his day
is getting in and out of the shower.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
It was slow mo too, It was weird. Did anyone
ask for him getting out of the shower?
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Of course we all get out of a shower at
some stage, but why did he Why did.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
He want to see that?
Speaker 8 (36:53):
And like, what's the voiceover?
Speaker 15 (36:54):
And this is the moment I have a shower, you
know my kids.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Hey, we've been talking to a lot of people this morning,
and we've had legends of the television industry come through,
a lot of them sharing stories of times Jerry's disgraced
themselves on the television. Gelanes disgraced themselves on TV so
often he can't none of them stand out, He couldn't
remember one. Is there anything that stands out to you?
Have you ever been hung out to dry as there
(37:22):
been a live mic incident?
Speaker 15 (37:25):
I don't think a live mike incident, but one of
the one that I remember was actually when I was
hosting with you, Jerry, Do you remember that other? So,
I was wearing this dress when I was filling on
on seven sharp one day and it looks really good
to stand up and one of the I think Clifton
Pipe of the stylist, to put it out for me
and I went, oh, this is a nice pink, pretty dress.
(37:47):
But when I sat down, it pugged right underneath my
breasts and it made me look like I had big
droopy Others.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
We call this yoppers.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Also pulled around the nipple area, didn't I And it
looked like the nipples were sticking right out and you
were the headlights were on full born.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
And some of the viewers, some of the seven Sharp viewers,
I mean, I.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
Think it excited a lot of them. A lot of
them were excited by what they saw. Rather them were
turning off.
Speaker 15 (38:21):
Some of them were horrified though. They were like, why
are her nipples so low? I was like, I'm horrified
that you think my nipples are that low. I'm not
sixty years This was me as a thirty something year old.
Speaker 10 (38:33):
I've had a couple of kids.
Speaker 8 (38:34):
But geez.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
The complaints though, I mean, it's such a weird thing
to complain about.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
So people watched it.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
There were complaints, Yeah, they were complaints, people like like,
why are her nipples showing like that? It's like, well, firstly,
you don't think that she doesn't want him, it's not.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
They're not her nipples.
Speaker 15 (38:52):
They were my nipples. They were darts. They were darts
in fabric. Yeah, my nipples were much higher.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
And you can see this.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
She's not purposely too out there and dazzle people.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Jesus would have been grateful there was no text machine
on TV.
Speaker 15 (39:04):
Well it somehow made the Daily Mail and then I
had international people didn't debating.
Speaker 11 (39:10):
My nipples, which was a fun time.
Speaker 15 (39:12):
So yeah, there was that time. I also had a
time where I had left my microphone pack on and
I need to go to the bathroom and I had
spanks on during the Olympics and I had to take
my whole spanks pack off and the mics were live,
and that was trying to keep your spanks off was
quite a hard situation.
Speaker 8 (39:32):
So there was also that.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
You always hear a lot of Soundi's here way more perverts.
Most of them are complete.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Perverts, I reckon.
Speaker 15 (39:40):
That's why they get into it.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Yeah, totally, That's.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Why Ruder was so candid. Put his hand up and
just sit back in the studio and listening to this
isn't it exactly?
Speaker 3 (39:49):
This is radio Tony. Thank you so much for coming in.
Speaker 15 (39:52):
It's lovely to be here. And let's hope I never
have an incident.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Right they're here, I'm going to google it for donations.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
And follow the donation link. This is Radioheadacker's Day and
Jeremy Wells and and Nia Stuart the Darky Breakfast Radio
Hudacke's Day and Lou with the view.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
We are supporting bow Canson New Zealand, which is a
charity one hundred percent community funded. If you want to donate,
please takes Lou to three four eight three. You can
follow the donation link. You can donate as much or
as little as you want. The thought is all that counts.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Yes, it's been an absolute treat to be in here
this morning. It's a she's a big gold She's a
big old production getting this all done, particularly up the
top here beautiful spot. But all the people that we've
had come through. One of the highlights for me Wendy
Petrie first pump at the end of the David Bain
trial when she was hung out to try by a producer.
It's first pumping because she was done with work for
(40:45):
the day, not to do with the trial. And that
one went around the world. And then Tony streets you
offers as well. Yeah, I think low Light would definitely
be Lane's steamy ass print on the window. I mean,
another pointless world first for Radiohdachy but I don't know
if we needed it.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
It's weird because when I was out there wandering around
the outside of the skytower there on the skywalk worth Zoe.
I really didn't think that the worst thing that I
was going to experience was Gelane's ass. I seriously thought
it was going to be the fear of the height.
But as soon as I saw Gelane's ass on that,
it did warm my cockles. I've got to say. And look,
(41:22):
beg Sandy shout out to her impressive postparation upstairs there.
I was not expecting to see her, youopos either, So
it's been a morning, I tell you.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
First, Yes, there's been a one of my favorite observations
of you when you were walking around that thing out there.
You're holding onto a rope, and I could see the
guide that was out there with you. She was pointing
at different things to look at. So have a look
out there. That's the Monaco Harbor whatever, you and your
grip titans on the rope as you turn your entire
body slowly due north with the and then oh, look,
(41:55):
your friends have got a surprise for you. And then
you slowly turn your entire body background again to and
your face when you saw a beer because like, would
you look at that? And then a meter and a
half you're right, Oh, dear, So that was one of
the highlights.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
I wasn't expected for there to be some kind of
residue left in a brown stain which they have come
and tried to clean off.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
But and look, no amount of spray and wipe is
going to sort that out.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
No, And if that's the kind of thing we need
to do to draw attention to a good cause, like
the day and low and then then we will, or
at least jer Lane will. New Zealand's one of the
highest rates of bowel cancer in the world. This is
why we do this. Over three thousand, three hundred New
Zealand is diagnosed every year. We've got the six symptoms
to check for, Jerry, can I can I quiz you
on them? See how many of them you can recall.
(42:38):
I'm going to turn your clipboard over.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
So the first one, and a big one, A big
warning sign is blood in your in your pose or
maybe when you've been wiping on your toilet. If you've
got any irregularities in your in your bower movements, so
if they change, if they become sort of softer or
maybe firmer over a period of time, that's obviously not
taking into account. If you go out for a bit
(43:03):
of a night on it, and then the next couple
of days are a little bit softer or whatever they are.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
This is over time, obviously.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Although that can be a contributing factor. So you know,
rain that and where possible and that we're the most
hope have a critical thing to hear me said this one.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Any kind of unusual abdominal pain, yes, I think is something.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
What else is there? Unexplained weight loss?
Speaker 4 (43:26):
I think is one that can oftentimes excite people, but
that could be a sign of something else.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
Yes, if you weren't trying to and then all of
a sudden you lose weight. Now I've got the opposite problem.
I was trying to and didn't. Not one of the
symptoms as.
Speaker 4 (43:39):
Sort of any ongoing tummy pain. Maybe you've got cramping
or bloating or discomfort or something like that.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
And the other one I think is if you're feeling
unusually tired.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
So any of those sorts of things, go as to them,
see you at GP and have a chat to them.
There is no shame in doing that. It's important that
you take control all of your own health and because
ultimately you are your greatest health advocate. No one else
is going to hold your hand and help you through
these things. You've got to take responsibility for yourself.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
So it's a day and Lou dot coded n Z
for the online Symptom check in. If you want to
make a donation, they are always welcome. Text Lou to
three four eight three you'll get a link there. You
can donate as much or as little as you are
capable of.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
Lots coming up today for Radio Hurockies Day and Lou Beck,
Kezy and Hoidy j are going to take you through
the next part.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
I don't think Audi has come up the lift yet.
Is he's still down on the four things get already?
Speaker 3 (44:32):
J on the Skywalker, I'd like to see that.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
Actually his legs would probably go through them through the grating.
That could be a problem. But it's been a great
morning and hopefully, hopefully if you've been listening, maybe you've
had to think about some of the things that we've
been talking about this morning, raising some winds around Bell
cancer and Bell Cancer and New Zealand because.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
It's a very important cause. This is Radio Hurackes Day
in lou
Speaker 13 (44:57):
The Hurarchy Breakfast with Jeremy Well and Manie Stewart, get
your insulation job sorted with Bunning's trade
