Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Hardechey Breakfast. Get your insulation jobs sorted with Bunning's.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Trade Jerry and the Naia Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome along to the Hardage Breakfast. It's Friday the twenty sixth,
the Dune twenty sex.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
We might as well. We got to let you in
on the joke. We were just recapping, and we'll continue
to recap very shortly. The day in lou yesterday, incredible day.
And it came to my attention that I had not
yet looked up the Tony Street's most embarrassing on a
TV moment, which was where the dress that she was
wearing when she sat down, it ballooned in such a
way that it made her look like she had the

(00:35):
absolute yoppers off. And it received a bunch of complaints
and I just cracks me up. A bunch of boomers
were sitting around at home. God, this just won't do.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
There was some people in some retirement villages that just
about lost their lives.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Their hearts started pounding.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Man felt that since the war, it was mainly to
do with where the nipples said.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I don't know. It's a google now to try and
find this picture.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
This is the Tony Street nipples. Google Tony Street nipple
pink Yeah, pink dress pink as.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
I remember it, I think you would remember it. Yes,
found it. Tony Street's boom Gate unfortunate seven.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Unfortunate. It was fortunate for some people. Unfortunate for Tony
to make it look like you nipples were really really
low and massive.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
It's actually up on our Instagram story if you missed
the young We did not have Tony Street saying yoppers
on our day Loop Bingo Cardi today, but you did
so here we are welcome along to the Hydeche Breakfast.
It's nice to have you with us.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Jerry and Leni Thedike Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
So yesterday it was ready Ahdocke's day and low we
were broadcasting tournameters up the skytower in Auckland. It was
all to sport balcans in New Zealand, starting conversations that
could save lives.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
By the way, you can.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Still donate actually by testing lu to three four three
follow the donation link, or you could head to day
in lou dot co ed zed and check out the
online symptom checker.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
We've got a full recap of the day's shenanigans.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Radio Hodak Day in lou another life saving day getting
behind Balcanser, New Zealand.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
So Jeremy Wells is outside of the building. He is
in a humiliating orange jumpsuit, not getting a great account
of himself in the harness.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
No, he's not dangerously uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Die. I know that you've had a huge amount of
rounds of chemo.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
I actually did lose counter round fifty three and I'm
sort of running out of chemo options.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Were you doing great work for bow cancer awareness?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
The way that you're telling your story, the openness is
remarkable to watch.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I find you personally had a massive inspiration.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
When you have to deal with mortality, you realize what's
important and what's not.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
We're a community fundered organization. We're really here to try
and beat BAKA on every front, things like this awareness,
but also we want to be part of their journey
for people.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
So we have the fastest growing rate.

Speaker 7 (03:07):
Barcust in New Zealand is very common. We've got the
fastest growing rates of bow concor in the world.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
I was misdiagnosed when I probably was at a stage
I would have a more treatable outcome. It's why today
is so important. I've been contacted by about ten maybe
more people who have listened to Hordeki got checked because
of Day and lou and have found something.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Keep the support coming by texting lou to three four
eight three or head to day InLu dot co dot nz.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
It was a great day, I gotta say, a great
day supporting a great cause. And as I said before,
you can still donate just protesting lou to three four
three follow the link. Balcansa New Zealand. They do great work.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yeah, they do, and like we heard, they are entirely
not funded by the government at all. It's seems like
a ridiculous situation to me that that that's one of
our fastest growing cancers and there's no government support for that. Well,
I think it's so they I think it's on purpose.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Maybe I might be wrong here, but I think Peter Mchuskinson,
Peter Huskinson who's the CEO of Scottish Pet Hoskinson, who's
the CEO of Bowcanson's, I think it's so they can
remain impartial, right, and that way they they can then
also pressure the government for certain things, because is if

(04:30):
the government's actually giving them money, it's.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Very hard to bite the hand that feeds you. Yes,
and then also you don't have to consult with the
politician whenever you want to actually help someone to make
a difference in their life. And I think we could
all agree with that. Yep, it what a what a
treat was yesterday A few highlights. Obviously we just mentioned
the Tony Street debucle I just looked that photo up.
Should we do we? Should we reshare? I think should
be okay with us resharing. That should be fine of that.

(04:53):
So that was great. It's always good to see Tony,
obviously seeing die. And then that's the first time I've
met Wendy and it changed my answer to one life.
It changed my life. It changed mars to one of
the thank you for your honesty questions. Ah, I went
from a noose two years. I love that. That's great.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
She's lovely Whinny. Yes, she's a lovely person. And I've
spent a bit of time with her of the years
as she was obviously one news presenter and then is
presented seven sharp every now and then, always positive and
always she's a what you describe as a breath of
fresh air.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Is in a professional and I loved her story about
reporting on a very serious topic and then first pumping
afterwards thinking she was off here, but just first pumped
the Baine troll.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yes, a lot of people as well gave their time yesterday,
a lot of organization Cape Britain, huge amount of organization,
massive shift from her Toddy, our massive shift from Big Sandy's,
huge shift.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
You know when Tody shows up in a blazer that
it's about to go down. And so when I saw
him at the crisp hour of a five am adorned
in a business blazer, I was like, we're on here,
We're so on.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yes, I've never felt so caffeinated in all my life,
so it was very nice to have. The food was outstanding.
The people at sky City, people like die Hen, were
giving their time, sharing their stories. A lot of people
turning up. God, there's millions of people that I've forgotten.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yes, what about your walk around the outside of the thing.
You were absolutely terrified before you were to do it.
I could see the nerves or you're standing on the
platform before you started walking. Then by the end of
it seemed like you could have done another lad. I
really enjoyed it by the end of it.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
But yes, definitely, at first I was like, I don't
know how well I will go with this.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
You made Zoe walk in front of you just in case,
what like, so if you fell, you were going to
hold onto Zoe.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
It was more that when you're looking off and you
were on the outside. So I was walking around the
ring of the sky tower and it sticks out probably
about four meters maybe from the outside of the building,
and it's like it's like the tire and then it's
got spokes that go out and then you you're standing
on the outside rim part and there's no handrail or
anything like that, and so when you look out, you're

(07:08):
looking out to nothing. Yeah, and so it was actually
nice to have Zoe. Zoe very kindly walked in front.
But it's there's something about the perspective of seeing someone
else in front of you which doesn't feel like you're
about to walk off the edge to your doon.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Yeah. Yeah. One of my favorite things about watching Zoe
walking in front of you is that Zoe is able
to move her head without moving her entire body. She
can look to her lift, she can look to her right,
and your body will still face forward. You, on the
other hand, as the guide that was out there with you,
was pointing out various different things to look at. You'd
be like, you'd look at her and go, oh, okay,
is it over? There is? And then you'd grip onto

(07:43):
your rope. Yeah, and then slowly tune your entire body
to look at it, and then you go, now look
over the other side. The other side cool, And.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I know I felt so I was taking tiny little
grannie steps as well, because I I don't want to
trip over. I don't want to go forward, and I
have been known to trip over.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
The other thing was when you turn, you don't want
to all of a suddenly lose your balance sideways because
there was a bit of breeze out there wasn't there
it was, It wasn't It's It's actually a great experience
walking around there. But definitely at first I was like,
I don't know how well I'm going to cope with us.
Turns out I really enjoyed it. It was a great thing,
and it's nice being pushed into some zones that are

(08:21):
uncomfortably rending. Fifty year old man, you kind of don't.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, Ford and a half. I'm coming up later on
the show. We need to address the video that has
gone viral. Around the world from your walk around the
sky Tower where you were Big Sandy's presented poached eggs
on the window. G Lane pressed his ass against the window.
We need to address that. We're going to address it

(08:44):
later on in the show. Did he wipe that morning?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Jerry and Mini the hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
So, I know I've been accused of bringing too many
aliens into the show in the past because of the
one time that I talked about aliens. But I'd like
to bring aliens back into the show for kids. You
know the you know the what is it called the
civil Defense Emergency alert that we get set. We got
one the other day.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah, and you went on a Sunday a it was
a Sunday afternoon, and man, that thing wakes you up
on a Sunday evening or whenever.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
It was scared the Bejesus out of me. And I
think the worst part is they tell you between six
and seven it's coming, and it's like, I don't know
if you've ever you would have done this as a
basketball coach ruder, but you know, standing underneath the hoop
while people are shooting, the anticipation of a ball hitting
you in the head is so much worse than the
pain of when it actually happens. And so from six
to seven I was sitting on the couch, just racked

(09:37):
with nerves. When's this thing going to come through? And
much like steering at a toast until it pops when
it scared the purse out of me. And so over
in Brazil, one of these civil alert civil emergency alerts
came through and it said it made that horrific noise
and then it goes protect yourselves, alien attack people, we

(09:58):
have arrived. What Yeah, a presum in Portuguese, not in English.
What So there was an alien attack? Yeah, there was
an alien attack. Millions of Brazilians were Millions of Brazilians,
bajillion Brazilians were woken up. Millions of Brazilians.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
I'm surprised we've not come across that before.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Millions of Brazilians in an area. We're woken up at
one thirty in the morning, after hackers breached for the
country's official emergency alerts. Yes, one in the morning, hackers
with a sense of humor.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Officials said that the alerts were not sent by civil
defense stuff and were likely the result of a hacker attack,
possibly using stolen government credentials. Nobody was physically harmed, but
the incident did expose a serious cybersecurity weakness, did it
or were they invaded by aliens at one thirty in
the morning and managed to fight it off.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Of all the things that you could do, that is
a that is a very important place that you don't
want to be hacked, No, because that is I mean,
you're just not expecting that to be hacked.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
I don't know. That's a great story. Quite funny though,
because I always think of that when it comes through,
Like we we work in the media promotions sort of
our tool and he you've got something that's got access
to every single human being in the country's phone, and
everyone's got a phone, even the unhouse community around phones
these days, so you've got the opportunity to send whatever

(11:25):
message you want to someone. It would be it would
be pretty hilarious to do it.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Oh, that's I'm pleased to see some hackers with a
sense of humor rather than just people who are trying
to either change elections or potentially defraud people. So that's
actually quite good what I would say. As well as
in the few there was that person as well, and
a member in the states in Hawaii that accidentally pushed
the wrong button and seen out the message that there's

(11:52):
going to be a nuclear attack. Yes, there's just a
lot of recipe for people to have massive anxiety around this.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, there is, But we had one that's actually meant
anything yet.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Uh, have we ever had one that wasn't a warning
or that wasn't an accident, or that actually helped anyone.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Or that was a warning for something that actually did happen.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, he the defense emergencies that have actually been things
that have helped people.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
No, I don't not just but you'd rather, you know,
have a gun and not need to use it, not
ever going to need one or something like that, just not.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Have a gun.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
All I'm saying is why don't we hacked the New
Zealand one and then just be like, hey, turn into
radio hood actually six to ten am weekdays.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
So you know that's going to happen at some stage,
not particularly Radio Hudocky, but someone is going to hack.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
The New Zealand one. Yeah, John on Ben I reckon
the wacky radio breaks.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
A Hey, we never got to a sec here two
lanes pressed hand on the glass and we'll address that
after seven.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
How much window Lane was needed. This needs prime time.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Jerry in the.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Night, The Hodarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Six eighty one on the Hidicky briefous time for your
latest sport headlines. Thanks to export Ultra the beer for here,
Tom Them and Devin Conway have both scored more than
one hundred and fifty each to help New Zealand two
three sixty one for four it stumps on the opening
day of their deciding cricket Test at trent Bridge. Latham
and Conway put on three hundred and seventeen for the

(13:15):
first wicket before two quick dismissals ended the day. See,
I looked when I woke up this morning, it was
they were three forty for two and I was like ey,
And then now they are three sixty one sixty one
for four. Still that's still about it because Rasi, Novendra
and Henry Nichols got out at the end of the

(13:36):
day caught behind for seven and thirty six respectively.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Because you know, when someone comes in and there goes
who's winning the cricket and you've got to bite your tongue.
No one's ever winning a game of cricket. I think
we're winning this game of cricket.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
We're in a really, really strong position and we won
the toss, elected to bat on on a good trent
Bridge wicket that's expected to turn at the end. Unfortunately
we lost Glenn Phillips and we lost mister Darcy Man
Henry before the start of play. Oh no, our two
best players and the other two bloody games. Well, Henry

(14:10):
didn't play in the first Test, but still the best player,
best bowler in New Zealand.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
In the world, best in the world. We lost the best,
we lost the world.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
This was our chance.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Yeah, although good for his status as the best bowler
in the world because he cannot tank his stats in
this game, so he will get another week to the ring.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
But I felt like it was a kind of pitch
that he'd probably do quite well on because I think
when it starts to go up and down on the
fourth innings and England I've got a bat last on it,
he would just be there or thereabouts.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Doesn't standing up, doesn't miss, does he No?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
But good on though, Tom Lathe and Devin Conway one
fifty one fifty.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
That's so good.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
So anyway, it's bounded ourselves into a very very strong position.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
We're two dollars ten to win England for twenty blazer
the draw to seventy five. All of a sudden, he
comes the drawer. Yeah, he comes the up step and murderer.
All right, that's enough news stories involving Tom's.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Double Olympic shot. Pop medallist Tom Oshry as glad that
Olympians will be compensated for their time and effort.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Is he?

Speaker 1 (15:09):
The International Olympic Committee has broken one hundred and thirty
years of tradition by deciding to pay all athletes who
compete in the Games through a seventeen thousand dollars grant.
While says Walsh, says it brings the Olympics in line
with other elite competitions, It.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Would cost about seventeen thousand to get over there for
a lot of those athletes, wouldn't it? You know? I
always think this about the pole vaulters. What does it
cost to get a bag full of bloody pole vaults around?
You get a pole full of volts? Yeah, you get
a poleful of voltes? How do you get those over there?
Absolute nightmare?

Speaker 1 (15:37):
And three more polls have their final matches at the
Football World Cup today, with Germany looking to complete its
perfect Group E.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Record against Ecuador this morning. That's good, isn't it? Come
on next? What to do if you can't afford what
you've ordered? This is a situation I've found myself in.
I'll tell you how I got out of it. I
don't know if it's going to work for you at home? Though?
Have you done that? You've gone, Oh, yeah, we'll wracked
up a tab here we now can't afford to pay.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
It, Jerry and mid night the hot Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
We're doing a little bit of research off here there
into our tab three way that pays that we'll be
putting on in a few moments time, oh, probably about
ten to fifteen or so. But in the meantime, what
did it? If you can't afford it? You've ordered? A
tourist dining at a high end steak restaurant in Tokyo
was shocked when the bill came to around seven hundred
US dollars after miss and understanding the menu and the pricing.

(16:30):
Have you ever have you ever in a situation like this?
Oh my god, I told one four hundred dollars for
a steak?

Speaker 8 (16:37):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (16:39):
How did that happen? Yeah? I don't know. I don't know,
but I mean they just they had a look at
it and they thought, oh, the steak looks good. That
was that was it?

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Was it that particular type of wago where they play
classical music to the cows and stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yes, message it and such and yeah, that's exactly it.
I don't know what you're supposed to do though, if
you if you get delivered that bill and you're like, oh,
because help them. Like, on the one hand, they can't
stop you from just walking out there place. It's a restaurant,
you know, it's not a nightclub. They don't have bounces.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
No, I mean you set up some kind of payment plan. Yeah, yeah,
I'll pay you ten bucks a week for the next
sixty four weeks.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yes, high end steak restaurant in Tokyo. They may have
taken your panky off you for it. I've been in
a situation similar to this where on a payday. This
is when I was working out in the office here
at Radiohodachy years ago and was myself and Tom Harper
used to work out in the office as well. We
went to the pub for a Friday lunch. It was

(17:39):
Friday pay day and we said I haven't got two
pennies to rub together on my account, but at some
point today I'll get paid. And we were on a
monthly cycle as well, so it's like live like a
king for a week, ter minute noodles for the rest
of the month. But buger, it's been a long week.
Let's heit to the pub for lunch. We go there,
we have a beautiful steak meal, not seven hundred dollars,

(18:02):
but at that time felt like it. A couple of beers,
a few people swing in th right the afternoon, you know,
and all of a sudden, it's three o'clock. At that point,
we get an email from work saying, hey, there's been
an issue with the pay system. There's going to be
a delay and so you're not going to get paid

(18:22):
and you know for at least another hour. We're still
working through it. Okay, sweet, we'll order another beer. Five
o'clock rolls around, We get another email, still working on it.
We'll be with you shortly, but we know, you know,
we want to get you guys paid before the weekend. Sweet.
As cut to about seven o'clock at night, another email

(18:46):
comes through again, Sorry, we are working on this, like
we're not going to leave you guys, high and dry,
but we have not been paid. At this point, our
tab is starting to outrun our paycheck because we've been
there for so long now that we are starting, we
haven't been paid and we don't We're just too lowly paid.
You know, Lackey's out in the office. We had no
money between the two of us, and so now all

(19:07):
of a sudden, we've got a tab that is worth
more than both of our combined bank accounts. And so
we're sitting there, which only would have been you know,
a few hundred dollars, but because we've been stuck there
and we couldn't leave until we paid it, were like,
what the hell are we going to do? And so
we gets to about eight o'clock, Matt Heath rolls in.

(19:30):
Now I don't know about you, guys, I've never seen
met Heath pay for a beer before. But you know,
when you're when you're a lowly paid lacky out there,
you're just like, oh my god, please, can can someone
who actually gets paid a salary help us out here?
And we didn't tell him what was going on, but
we he get going, Oh, come on, this place sucks.
Let's go to another bar. Let's go to another bar,
and we're like, no, no, no, no, we're just here. And

(19:52):
eventually he gets so angry that he wants to go
to somewhere else and we're like, do you well, look,
here's the situation. We actually can't afford our teed. But
when we're stuck here presumably till Monday, when we do
get paid, at which point I don't know, we'll get
paid enough to cover the bill. And he goes our
bugger and he covered the bill and he essentially paid.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
It was like, I did not think that was where
the story was going.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
It was essentially beer Bale paid for us, and he
bailed us out of the pub where our bell had
outrun our paycheck.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
I liked your technik though, Would Liz buy another beer
so we can waste some time, so we can save
some more time. We couldn't leave, but let's have another beer.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
We have dinner as well. What are you gonna do?

Speaker 9 (20:30):
What if you just had so many beers they end
up kicking you out of the place.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Oh that would have been any try that.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Yeah, I've seen definitely a situation. I remember years ago,
Telsey and I were overseas and she brought.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Toulsy slipped over broke a collar bone.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
This is in Switzerland, and they then turned up and
tuck her down in an ambulance and sorted it out,
had a whole lot of X rays. There was a
little bit of miscommunication going on what was happening. That
bill came through at some stage. And let me tell
you that the Swiss healthcare system is not like the

(21:10):
New Zealand healthcare system because you pay for ambulances. Yeah,
and at the time, I think we would have been
in our mid to early twenties, and it was that
was in the thousands and thousands.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
And when you couldn't afford it, they rebroke a collarbun.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Well, luckily we just gave him a fake address and
it never came.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Jerry and Mania The Darchy Breakfast.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Jeremy Wells and the Nie Stewart The Darchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
You're Whites have got one more group game in the
feed for World Cup to go. They've got a one draw,
one loss record in the tournament so far, and tomorrow
at three pm, good timing, they take on Belgium. But
is there still a chance that they can make the
round of thirty two. Someone who knows better than us
joining us from Vancouver. Jason Pine, football commentator for Sky

(21:58):
Sport ken can we make the round of thirty two pint?
Is it possible?

Speaker 8 (22:03):
Absolutely, it's possible. Yep, Absolutely, it's possible. All we need
to do is beat the number ten side in the world. Now,
for context, we're eighty fifth, so you might say to yourself, well,
that doesn't sound possible, but it is possible. A lot
of things can happen in a one off football match.
Belgium haven't been great. They've scored one goal in they're
two games. It was an own goal, so no Belgian

(22:24):
player has yet hit the back of the net. They're
under a lot of pressure. They'd be feeling like the
All Blacks if we were about to be eliminated and
group played a Rugby World Cup. That's how Belgium will
be feeling pressured us Funny things to people. I've convinced myself. Guys,
have I convinced you.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Just about just about?

Speaker 10 (22:41):
Well?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
We've scored We've scored three, as you say, they've scored one,
although technically none. What are we going to do? How
does this work if we are talking to you on
Monday and we've won the game. What happened.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
Yeah, it's a great question, and I've been thinking about
how they approach this game. They don't have to go
out like a bull oft the gate. I think Belgium
will do that. They will come at New Zealand in
the first fifteen twenty twenty five minutes, even the first
half up to the hydration break, which we love so much.
But I think New Zealand can suke that pressure up.
They only have to win the game one nil, so

(23:15):
if they're defensively sound, that pressure builds on Belgium and
chances will come at the other end, and guys like
Eli Just and Chris Wood and others, it's hit peacetime.
A guy like Finn Sermon. We do have the weapons
to hurt them. So to me, it feels like we've
got to be very solid defensively and then take the
chances when they come at the other end. Sounds like
a simple formula, but I reckon that's the way they

(23:37):
might approach it.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Word on the street, pony, and I'm just putting on
my football credibility headband here. Thanks very much, don't mind,
I'll just work on word on the street is piny
that Chris?

Speaker 2 (23:48):
What is jew he absolutely is.

Speaker 8 (23:51):
Jue hasn't got a World Cup goal yet, you know,
the one thing missing probably on his CV. Will he
go to another World Cup? Not sure he'll be forty
or thereabouts when the next one rolls around. He is due,
isn't he. He's our greatest ever goal scorer, our captain,
our talisman, our best ever player in the eyes of many.
Wouldn't it be fitting if he was the one to

(24:12):
pop up tomorrow and score the goal that created a
bit of history the New Zealand?

Speaker 3 (24:15):
It would be There'll be a lot of eyes on him.
You would have to think from the from the Belgian
side as well, to try and shut them down if
the worst case does happen, we don't go through. Even
if we do, who are the tournament favorites at the moment?

Speaker 8 (24:27):
Plane France are looking amazing, they really are. They've They've
put together a pretty impressive attacking, you know, set of
They've played well in the last two games. Put it
that way. Argentina the same Lionel Messi. That's called five
goals and Messi's got them all. So I'm there.

Speaker 10 (24:45):
They're looking good.

Speaker 8 (24:46):
Argentina and France dark horses. I don't know. The United
States think they're gonna, you know, do pretty well. They're
pretty brash, they might, but it feels as though it's
going to be one of those those two Frants Argentina.
They were in the last World Cup final, so I
wouldn't be beyond the the doll do con test this
one as well?

Speaker 3 (25:02):
What about the vibe on the ground, Pony, whereabouts in
Northern America are you and then are they getting involved there?

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Vancouver?

Speaker 8 (25:09):
Yeah, I think everybody took the day off yesterday. Canada
played here yesterday. The kickoff was lunch time and honestly,
thousands and thousands of people just you know, at the
ground obviously, but and then around and then you know,
last evening. Yeah, just a party in the middle of
Vancouver down Grandville Street. Anybody who's been here will know
that that's the party zone. There's some strange smells in

(25:30):
the two guys. I was just trying to place them
and I like, just about this. Yeah, No, they're enjoining
themselves here in Vancouver for sure.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
A few less people on fentanyl in Wellington, what you're
used to, Pony than in Vancouver. Last time I was there,
I saw a lot of people leaning in very very
unusual ways.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
They do contort their bodies quite impressively on day when
they you know, they when they take part of that
sort of thing you wouldn't find out in courtney play.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
So far, Piny your take on the entire tournament and
how America, Mexico and Canada have dealt with it. You've
obviously watched a lot of World Cups in your life.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Where does it sit.

Speaker 8 (26:14):
Yeah, I mean it's vague and it's bold and it's brash.
But that's North America for you, isn't it. You know,
in particular the United States. They're a bit more understated
here in Canada, but they're still getting into it in
Mexico there. I mean, they're bonkers for their football down there.

Speaker 10 (26:27):
So look, I.

Speaker 8 (26:28):
Mean there's been a lot of talk about ticket prices,
about accommodation, about how regular fans have been priced out
of it, and that might be true, but the vibe around,
like I say, in Vancouver, it feels like a World
Cup city. It's just absolutely pumping every day, shirts, colors,
flags everywhere. Look, I think people have kind of thought, well,
it's here now, and much as we don't agree with

(26:51):
some of the stuff that see for do We're going
to have a party while this World Cup is on.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Jason Pine, football commentator for Sky Sport, thank you so
much for your time and looking forward to the game tomorrow,
Zealand taking on Belgium at three pm.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Time for an upset. Maybe a huge upset, wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
It Jerry and Midnight the hold Ikey breakfast.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
So yesterday was Radio Haddock's Day and Luberg shouto to
everybody who organized at Cape Britain. Was there all day.
Toddy the Boss was there all day. Australian contentary to
Pixie Campbell Bicks Andy's with zero day Ruder manning the
manning the desk here also balcans in New Zealand. A
whole lot of money was raised. You can still send

(27:38):
You can still text loud to three for three actually
for a donation link or head today in loud dot
cod at his zen for the online symptom checker. There
was broadcasting, there was food. Thanks to sky City for
their help as well.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
That's right, you and Zoe were charged with doing the
skywalkerround the outside of the sky Tower. You needed a
bit of financial prompting motivation to get out there. So
a couple of donations came in and you faced your
fears of heights. You saw the sights of the super city,
and you saw a few things you didn't expect to see.
They're about to come past. I'm just going to give

(28:11):
him bit of a treat.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
I don't know if you're family with the girl boy
bulldog maneuver, where you stand up?

Speaker 3 (28:15):
You tucky downstairs? It's girl boy. This is the bulldog.
G Lane is about to expose his buttocks and interestingly
beg Sandy's is also about to run some poached eggs
on the window as well, a real treat for Zoe
and Jerry. She's deployed the poached eggs under the window,
g Lane bulldogging out the back and Jerry, who was
gripping onto the roape for dear life, has caught and

(28:37):
I followed the eggs on the window. But he now
can't look back. He's looking again. He's now clocked at
G Lane's backside. He's not too happy with that. Tell
you what, that is the grossest thing I've ever seen
in my life. There is a sweet patch left from
G Lane's buttocks. It has fogged up the window run
where his buttocks were and even left the Indians of

(28:58):
the hears Anus on the window of the skytower. Another
pointless world first radio, all for a good cause, all
for a good course, looking through the symptoms here and
I think that's all six of them you've just left
on the on the window of the skytower. So a
video of that from the point of view of Zoe
and Jerry has gone out. That you guys had a

(29:20):
You guys had a little a guide with you out there.
She was holding on to your phone and filming for
you guys. Zoe's in the studio this morning. Now what
was your perspective on that?

Speaker 2 (29:29):
What?

Speaker 6 (29:30):
What?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
How did you see it? How did it unfold?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
You go?

Speaker 11 (29:33):
Jerry?

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Well, Zoey, Zoe and I.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Firstly, so I was facing my fears and thank you
Zoe for for helping me as I was making my
way around there, shuffling like a seventy five.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Year old man. But you did it. You do that
on the ground. That's true. I would say it felt
at times like Zoe was tuning you and she was
leaning out over the side holding onto a rope.

Speaker 11 (29:55):
Now she was trying to the lovely instructor was trying
to get us both to do it and Jerry's.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
I was I was big enough that I was actually
out there on the railing. I was like, that's enough
for me, thanks very much. Zoe though brave, no, very brave,
actually quite scared while she was doing it, to be fair,
but still did I notice? But you were definitely you
were definitely it was you were pushing yourself.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
There was a bit of like, wow, isn't she so
brave going on inside the thing, and then someone made
the comment, She's just she's just young, not enough bad
things have happened to her. Ye, yeahs I still got
her balance.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Well, we've got about halfway around Azoe, and at that
point that's where we were broadcasting from, so that you
guys were behind the glass broadcasting, and as we as
we came up to that area, I think the nerves
were started. Certainly from my perspective, the nerves were starting
to ease.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
At that stage.

Speaker 11 (30:45):
Your knees had stopped shaking.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah, my knees were shaking like something messer, but that's
an actual physical nerve issue, which is something different. But
we looked back at that point because I was like,
I was about to sort of wave proudly, and I
was like look at us out here, look at how
we're facing our fears. And then I was looking at
you and I was very focused on you at that stage.

(31:09):
And then in the foreground, I think it was Zoe
that pointed out, oh, yuck, what the hell is that?
And it was at that point that I spotted ge
Lane's pressed hand up against the glass.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Yes. Now that video has gone up on social media
and there's been a couple of people that have pointed out, Oh,
I don't I don't even know how to address us.
There's photo of it in the dock. I can.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
I can address it for you, please, because I saw
it from behind the glass, and so did the lovely
lady who was helping us around the Skywalker as well.
She'd never seen something so disgusting.

Speaker 11 (31:41):
She did suspiciously though, when we were coming around the
corner to come and see you guys. She was aware
that something was going to happen, because she pulled her
phone out at the exact right moment and she zoomed
in on that thing.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
She did zoom in on that thing. She's on that thing.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
She did zoom in on that thing she was righting on,
and she was in on the stain to the upper
right butt cheek of a sec here g Lane, there's
there's a long brown streak. That's how I describe it,
a long brown streak. Luckily you couldn't see his back
bush in the particular shot.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I would rather have seen that than the long brownish
greenish streak that's in there. Somebody text through he said,
read the video from yesterday. If you look, there's literally
cotton soft toilet paper in the background of the video.
Why was it there? Does g Lane carry toilet paper
around for these occasions? And if so, why didn't he
use it? Please explain? Someone else text through yesterday asked
whether he had wiped with a plastic bag. There there's

(32:35):
a lot going on.

Speaker 11 (32:36):
There's quite a few comments on.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yes, this thing has gone viral.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
It's a shadowing shade issue. Well, I'm saying it's not.
It's definitely a wiping problem.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
That's a skid mark, yeaped mark. Could it be a bruise? No,
why would he be bruised? Upper upper left?

Speaker 11 (32:56):
But I feel sorry for the person who has to
clean the window is one of the comments.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Did you see how much window? Lena?

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Also, it's right at like child height as the kids
come around, put their hands on the window and they're
looking out.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
It's a health hazard or wipe left.

Speaker 11 (33:12):
Or might want to consider it the day.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
So Jeelane joins us as he does every Friday, at
eight fifty this morning to address these allegations.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Jerry in the night the breakfast.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
So tomorrow the Warriors head into an NRL game in
an unfamiliar position there the underdogs, Well they certainly know
about that in their history, but not this year.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
That's a reason phenomenon.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yeah, they're taking on the dollies the Dolphins in Brisbane.
Dolphins playing a dollar forty eight. They made some good
rugby league and the Warrior's paying two sixty five. Joining
us now Great New Zealand. A friend of the show
was on the show yesterday. Thanks for coming into Dane
Lou yesterday. Die.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
It was sensational to see you as.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
Always, absolutely two days in a row. It's it's I'm
feeling good.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
What a treat. Unsteady.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
In terms of this Dolphins versus Warriors game, obviously a
dollar forty eight. The Dolphins, they are favorites. That's fear worth.
The way things have been going for they.

Speaker 6 (34:12):
May absolutely mainly because they're welcoming back a host of players.
They've got the Hammer Hemisode, Wafidos coming back, Selwyn Cobber.

Speaker 10 (34:23):
Max Platz Flegler.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
They've just got sort of a bunch of really quality
players coming back. And we've got the opposite with still
Mush and James Fisherharris Jackson. Ford had that nasty pick
injury that sees them out for about ten weeks. So
I actually like coming in as underdogs to this game.
We're playing at Suncrk. As everyone saw at Magic Round,

(34:47):
there's plenty of kiwis over there, so I reckon they'll be.
They're saying probably around thirty forty thousand people here and
a majority, not a majority, but I reckon half of
them will be kiwis.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Ye good account of ourselves. The whole storyline of the
Warriors this season has been we've got a squad, we've
got a lot of depth. But you mentioned some of
the players that are out that are coming back, but
you you've got to remember the players who are out
that aren't coming back. Roger two of us as Chek,
Tanner Boyd, We've lost a lot of players. How many
injuries can we sustain as a squad and still say,

(35:19):
well we've got enough depth.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
I don't know, because I think come finals time we're
really gonna miss Tanner Boy and his long kicking game. However,
to Marty Martin and as Janelle Harris Tavida are settling in,
where tomorrow is going to hurt us is the centers,
and it's not injury wise.

Speaker 10 (35:40):
It's just I think Boss Stock and.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Herbie Farnworth will maybe have the better of Pompey and
Ali Latawa.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Yeah, I remember in games gone by against the Dollies,
Herbert John Felix Farnworth has really shown us that man's
a complete footballer.

Speaker 10 (36:02):
Oh absolutely.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
He brings that sort of World War One intensity and
he's got it. He's got it in his luck with
his little mustache and his hair. He's a little British guy.
You could see him just hopping over the trenches and
just plowing force with nothing but a strong.

Speaker 10 (36:19):
Will and a bayonet.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
Without even the gun, it's just basically a nice and
just slicing through the troops. But you know, we're talking
about how good the dolphins are. But I got up
this morning. I pulled myself for five hundred miles of water.
Usually out in West Auckland has got a slight methamphetamine
he tastes to it, but today it just tasted like
mana and a Warrior's victory. I've been telling everyone we're

(36:44):
gonna We're gonna go down to the Dolphins this week,
but things I felt different today, and I think if
we win, that shows we're really a premiership threat.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Yes, it's two v three as the table stands at
the moment, panders obviously first if we are to win, di,
if we're talking to you on Monday and the Warriors won,
how did they do it?

Speaker 6 (37:06):
We did it through grinding them out because they hate
to have these grinding games. Even though they've got an
amazing defense. The Dolphins love to spread it and run,
so we're just gonna shut them down. It's going to
get into an unrestle and we're gonna win about sixteen
to twelve. And the man we have to shut down

(37:26):
is Isaiah Kato, the lower boy, who is the Dolphins
half and sort of a bit of a superstar. But yeah,
I'm saying sixteen twelve to the wars die hem.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Well, thank you so much for your time this morning.
Always a pleasure.

Speaker 10 (37:39):
Have a beautiful weekend everyone.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Jerry and Mian nine The Hurarchy Breakfast daily bespoke content
that you won't find on the radio show The Hurarchy
Breakfast Podcast.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Time for It's academic. How much have we got today?
One hundred and fifty dollars worth of Bunnings vouchers up
for grabs?

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Gives a call?

Speaker 1 (38:00):
I eight hundred hedache I eight hundred four to eight
seven five.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
What do you gotta do?

Speaker 1 (38:04):
As answer three questions correct out of five forty five
seconds to do it.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
We'll go to the phone lines now, where we find
Joe from the Lake Harwire, who was a builder. Good morning, Joe.
How's like harwere this morning?

Speaker 10 (38:17):
Oh it's pretty cold this morning, guys.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah, I imagine it would have been beautiful spot though
Lake HARWEA. Joe spent a bit of time Lake har
we Oh yeah.

Speaker 10 (38:26):
I've never seen you around, but I'll keep an eye out.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
Are you saying he's lying? Joe? I think I feel
like he might be lying?

Speaker 6 (38:31):
Well, yeah, I mean I wouldn't be surprised.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
Yeah you would, Joe. No, he's got his finger on
the pulse. Joe. Oh dear, I see you went to
tech you boys, Joe.

Speaker 8 (38:43):
Yeah, I thought they could be a sticky point.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
Mate, But unfortunately I've run out of time this morning.
Joe sawn. They are on the it's academic roll of honor.
Saint Kevin's not represented in there. Just see there was
a fire at your skill the other day.

Speaker 8 (38:58):
Yeah, yeah, I believe it's under investigation.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
You started it and so you can't say anything about it.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
Yeah, well I don't know.

Speaker 8 (39:05):
Yeah, I think people were asking me you were matey.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
He's drived by on both of us. All right, then,
Joe one hundred, just ramp.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Up those questions a little bit rude to just make
them a little bit more journey.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Thank you very much. Well, but you know, not a
great learning dish out at White take you boys. So
let's see how this goes.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Here we go to Higgins, who is not in England's
current Test cricket team. Joe root tongue gay or butt.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Roote.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
No, it's but what ingredient did former Prime Minister Bill
English famously put on his pizza pineapple? No, it was
spaghetti who had the nineteen ninety four hit Here comes
the hot stepper.

Speaker 7 (39:53):
On.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
No was any Camosi. So you can't get.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
These are a difficult route And when I said, ramp
it up a little bit for Joe. I didn't mean
that much. Who disgraced themselves atop the skytowel yesterday with
a move called girl Boy Bulldog.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Uh, Jeremy, well that was.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
G lame Naples, Venice, Florence's cities and what country Italy?

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Joe was going to get that right? Yeah, tough questions,
Joe and your defense, very tough questions.

Speaker 5 (40:23):
Yeah, no tax underdogs, but yes, sorry about that.

Speaker 10 (40:27):
No, that's great skill.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
That's okay, Joe unlucky, unlucky, I'll credit We're credit as
Joe though. Who is not in England's current test cricket
team root Toungu Gale. But it's probably one of the
best questions.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Had Jerry and Leni the hold icky breakfast.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
It's the Yeah, we look for the top five things
a particular topic you can vote on three four eight three.
Previously we've done beaches, rivers, manger, pet peeves, top five words,
blazing spots.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
That was good. Yes, I quite enjoyed pieces of New
Zealand infrastructure, storms and things put on toast as pot
on toast. Yeah, that was a doozy that one actually
things to put on Toast ten. It surprisingly made its
way into that.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
One a lot of people Hugh je on avocado.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Yes, but I think butter taking out the number one
spot on that we generally like to hang out the
back of the news when it comes to the Friday
Top fives. Make it topic, will make it relevant to
your week. And I think there's been nothing more shocking
this week than the crack that was deployed yesterday against
the window of the observation deck at the Auckland Skytower.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Yeah, I'm not so bad for you, because you were
looking out. You got the good end of it. Well,
I got the bad end because I was actually walking
around on the skywalk with Zoey and we turned only
to see acc he had g Lane pressing his ham
up against the glass.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
Yes, I would say I didn't get off lightly either,
because there was a steam print press into the glass
that outlined various different parts of his anatomy. Was not
cleaned off the window either. So if you are heating
up the Skytaiel, just beware of small children pressing their
faces against the glass. But the worrying part of the
whole thing, and he'll be joining us to defend himself

(42:08):
later on is there was a discolouration along one side
of the crack. I believe the left as you look
at it, and benefit of the doubt, it was a bruise.
It's not a bruise. It's not a bruiseman.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
I'm sorry, but that streak is way too long.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
It's a streak. It's a brown streak. This will be
what he calls us and says, hey, thanks for that.
I was just dropping my kids off at school and
they heard that whole thing.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
No, that's right.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
I'm sure he'll be encouraging them to probably do brown
eyes against the window of the cars on his way
to school, and.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
Brown the eye was. But that's not the top five
we're doing this morning today in light of that, all
of that, today it is top five cracks, Top five crack.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Yes, three four eighty three. Is that able to text
us on or oh, eight hundred headache. You can always
give us a call. We'd like to hear from you
in terms of cracks. Initially, I'm thinking show us your
crew is the first thing I think. The nova said, Yes,
that's the first thing that comes into my mind too. Oh,
it's actually the second thing, but I can't be able
to think about the first thing anymore. For me, the

(43:09):
crack of the first beer on a Friday afternoon after work.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
How about that. I will also give you and I
think this one could be a strong contender for number one.
Plumbers crack.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Funny you call it plumbers crack, because when I was
growing up, the saying was always pants were slack.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Builders crawled as crack. Yeah, I'll give you a builds
cracklumbers crack. I'll go plumbers crack over a builders crack. Yeah. Yeah,
I've seen I think, I think I reckon.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
In the UK, you'll see a lot more builders crack, right,
whereas in New Zealand it's generally the plumbers that operate
the crack.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
You do all your own plumbing, so you wouldn't see that.
That's totally true. Someone else said pork crackled. Oh okay,
I mean that's.

Speaker 9 (43:49):
Gonna yeah, one hundred percent. I'm right into pork crackling.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
I know it's controversial and a lot of people don't
like them anymore. But I'm a huge fan of firecrackers. Yep,
huge fan of fives will bring a lot of Joy.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
What about noss crackers. Yep, I know your past.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
We're doing We've done it here live on the radio
before an interviewed people on it, which is interesting.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Jerry and Mini the hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
It's the today on the back of g Lane showing
us is crack yesterday?

Speaker 3 (44:24):
Will show Zoe and I. Anyway, Well, we're wandering around.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
On the skywalk two hundred meters up the sky tower.
It was a brown streak, wasn't his, Zoe? We both
saw it. There's a brown streak. Something happened. Anyway, he's
going to answer these allegations later on. On the back
of that, we are trying to find the top five crack.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
Yes, that's right. Technical query. Does cleavage counter as a crack? Jerry?
This comes through on three four A three. That's not
a question. I think that's cleeve. Yeah, it goes to crack.
That's cleve, because.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
I think a female can have crack, you know, and
cleve female can have pummers.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Crack for examp. That's right. Shout out to all the
female plumbers. Out to all the female plumbers out there,
and actually fellows. The plumbing conference is going on right
now in Hamilton, is it. I do know a female
plumber who is at there. Good morning Emma. If you
listening to the show this morning, congratulations there we go,
shout out to the female plumbing commune. Yeah, and if
anyone can give my mate ride from Hamilton to Auckland

(45:19):
after the plumbing thing, then give us a tick. We
seem to have got way late. Yeah, personal admin. Anyway,
we have had a lot of a lot of the
same ones come through, so this has been one of
the more comprehensive top fives in terms of the hive
mind activating and they're all being on the same page.

(45:41):
As a kid, we used to say, stand on a
crack fall and break your back while walking along the pavement. Yeah,
step on a crack Marri Rat. This is what the
text says. Yeah we were. We were, Marri Rat. You
were step on a crack. Mary around, Mary Rat.

Speaker 9 (45:55):
We were breaking your mum's back.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
Break your mum's back. Nice.

Speaker 9 (45:59):
I don't come up with it, deary, that's rude.

Speaker 3 (46:02):
I don't know your mum.

Speaker 1 (46:06):
I mean, Mary a Rat.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
I think it's better, but at least that makes sense.

Speaker 9 (46:10):
Step on crack, Mary a Rat doesn't deserve.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
It, So I think to be honest with the amount
of texts that have come through on the same note,
I think we just ripped straight into the sucker.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah, just before we do, I just want to talk
about something here because I actually I see it's got
six or seven votes, so oh no.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
Look at that. It's on the list, going to make
its way in there. It's gonna make its way in there.
That's interesting. Honorable mention to the Grand Canyon, I think
one of the most impressive cracks all those as far
as geographical regions, it has been outdone by another one.
So yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
And also shout out to the Cumberland Gap.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
Shout out to the Cumberland Gap, and shout out to
just enjoying the crack with the Fellers didn't make it
on technicality. Yeah, also the Crak if you will to
our iris lessons. Anyway, let's get into it. Number five
crack of dawn, and at number five really depends on
whether you're a morning person or not, but there's nothing
like getting up the crack of dawn. Well, we did

(47:10):
it yesterday and we got to watch the sunrise over
the super City and it was delightful. Yep. We generally
have to watch it through the smokers area and the
alleyway outside our studio.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Would you rather get up and see the crack of
dawn or would you rather see the sunset? And I's
prettier to you sunset, the sun sets sunset.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
I'm going to say, crack a dawn. Okay, each to
their own. That's why it's at number five, number four.
Cracking one through the covers.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
There's nothing like waking up in the morning and cracking
one through the covers. It really isn't.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
Crack of dawn either that or at the sound of
leather on willows one gets cracked.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
See what your eye covers on another length, But it's
still like a yes, nothing better than cracking it through
the covers.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Just understood. While you're getting into work later and later
every day. And crack cocaine epidemically slipped through urban centers
the US in the late nineties.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Crack cocaine's at three people, are we really doing that?

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Well? A lot of a lot of love for the
crack cocrack cocaine at eight twenty on a Friday morning early.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
I've heard people just describe meth amphetaminus crack as well.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
Yep, very more great stuff. Is what I'm hearing. Number
two the Mariana Trench. Pretty impressive crack and aliens live there.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
Well, the Mariana Trench that that loomed large over my childhood.
Ten thousand, nine hundred and eighty four meters.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Deep, nearly thirty six thousand feet.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
So when you're flying and say seven seven seven or something,
you're normally going about thirty six thousand feet something like
thirty five thousand feet up to about thirty nine thousand feet,
so you imagine that but down So if you put
Mount Everest, this is the crazy part about them, the Mariana.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
I'd like you to pronounce that props, the Mariana Trench.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
If you chuck Mount Everest in it, which is about
eight thousand, eight hundred and forty eight meters high, then.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
It still wouldn't even get to the top.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
We s wouldn't even see it wouldn't even see the
surface of the water.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
Well, we should chuck it in there and fill it up.
What is down there? You reckon? Aliens? Aliens? Yeah? The cracking, Oh,
the cracking, jeez, hard done, bo. Just the honorable mention
before you get to number one. Cracked team as in
the Hidaky Breakfast as a cracked team of elite radio DJs.

Speaker 5 (49:23):
Really number one one.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
Cracking a few beers with the boys could be anything else,
particularly on a Friday, it had to be cracking a
cold one.

Speaker 4 (49:31):
With the boys, Jerry and the Night, the Hodarchy, Breakfast,
Jerry and Midnight, the Hotarchy, Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (49:40):
And Night Drives. A very very small car. It's a
Suzuki Swift, I.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Would say, uh, spacious though.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Spacious in the head area, yeah, and actually spacious for
the leg room for the front passengers for one person,
ridiculously small leg amount of leg room for the rear
past just and no boot space.

Speaker 10 (50:01):
Nah.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
Surprisingly, I think you'd be surprised.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
I mean, it's a saunty little hatch, but it's got
no space in the ball.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
I've been driving around for about two years now worth
a bunch of drop cloths and rollers and painting trays
and cans and stuff, and you'd be surprised how much
of that stuff I can fit in there?

Speaker 1 (50:19):
How many cubes of cut wood can you fit in
the back.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
I've hit a couple, I've fit a couple. Someone ticks
in the other day and said they had a load
of fire wood dropped off in the boot of a swift,
So I think you'd be surprised. I think you'd be surprised.
Very functional bit of kit that thing, and unfortunately for me,
unkillable as well, because I hate it and for the
longest time I've not wanted it. And isn't that always
the way that when there's something that you don't want,

(50:44):
it'll last forever, and if there's something that you absolutely love,
it'll break almost immediately.

Speaker 1 (50:49):
And the thing with cars is cars that are reliable
are good. Yeah, you know, there's nothing worse than a
car that costs you a whole lot of money.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
I've always thought that car bells are one of the
most frustrated bills will ever get in your life, because
to me, I'm like, I already owned the car, So
what am I paying you for? I already have the car,
So what are you billing me for?

Speaker 11 (51:07):
So?

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Yes, today, the day before tomorrow tomorrow, I took it
over the pits to get its waft. Do you guys
want to have a guess as to whether it's passed
or not? Now, bear in mind, if you haven't heard
about my car, it does not have as a two
thousand and eight Suzuki Swift does not have a dipstick.
Yep has never had a dipstick.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Okay, can you tell us how many k's that two
thousand and eight Suzuki Swift has done one hundred and
ninety thousand, one ninety thousand. Well, if I know Suzuki
engines and Swift's with the Swift build quality, and that's
a guarantee. I got to say there's a reason why
they are one of the most popular vehicles in New Zealand. Yes,
because those things are cockroaches. That thing will keep going.

(51:47):
I gonna say me, I what you're gonna say. It
passed its waft with flying colors, so.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
I took it over the pit. So I waited Jesus
very quick at the VTNZ as well, not an ad
And one of the advantages is they don't do repairs.
They're not going to sting you. I took it over
and the Suzuki Swift failed its whaft. Okay, first failed?

Speaker 2 (52:08):
What?

Speaker 3 (52:09):
Okay? What failed? First ever failed? There? It's just there
are three problems. The first is one of the headlights
needs to be adjusted. It's pointed just at the floor.
It's got a droopy eye. One of those is just
sort of a little bit bung staring at the floor. Fine, yep,
safety hasard. Maybe did you do that yourself? Probably the

(52:30):
other one, because there are sixteen speed bumps between the
entry to our car park at work and where I
eventually lay that cart. Arrest front right strut needs adjusting,
Is that right? Yeah? I could hear it making a
noise too. I knew about that one.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Is that that knocking noise?

Speaker 3 (52:47):
No, it's not the knocking noise. It's a squeaky when
I go over the I can't hear that with the noise.
Cancelors in those are fine, and those are small. The
one that could potentially be the end of it, yeah,
rust in the boots in the boot. Now, I don't

(53:07):
know much about cars, but I know that rust is
about the death blow for a car, isn't it? Rust
in the boot? Man and the guys whould come out
and have a look, and I'll show you. And he
opened the boot and I was like, oh, these all
that painting stuff I've been looking for about two years. Rust,
How the hell did the water get in the boot?
This is the thing. And then there was also a
note at the bottom that said, you know, tread on

(53:27):
the tires might need looking at next time around, you know,
a couple of notes to keep track of. And then
it was like, also note does not have a dipstick?
Not an issue. That cracked me out. But then I
look at the thing and I'm like, yeah, no, rust
in the boot, buggar, we can do about that. Of
all of the things I've been doing to mistreat this thing, yeah,
rust in the boot. So I don't know if anyone

(53:47):
knows anyone who can do a deal on getting rust
out of the boot of a Swift, keep it going,
to keep that Swift going. If this is your opportunity
to get rid of this is the thing? Like what's
the number? What's the number? Because what if someone what
if I find out that actually, you know, cost a
couple hundred bucks to patch that up.

Speaker 12 (54:02):
Well, my wife Suzuki Swift, which was the last car
that she had it, we said bye to it after
it had rust in the boot, and we've got a
quote for fifteen hundred bucks. Is about it for you?

Speaker 3 (54:13):
Good? Someone sent me that quote for fifteen hundred bucks.
And then like, Sam's just text in. I can ef
it off and get the kings with that. I've been
dreaming of yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
Well, the other thing is the saying as if there's
rust in the boot stamped down below.

Speaker 4 (54:24):
Jerry and and I joined the complayt the Hadaki Breakfast
discussion group on Facebook for more.

Speaker 5 (54:29):
Sports chat with acc Head brought you by Export Ultra
the beer for him.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
Are you wipe this morning?

Speaker 10 (54:38):
Jay?

Speaker 3 (54:38):
Listen?

Speaker 5 (54:39):
I have been tuning in this morning and I have
obviously been besmirched quite heavily throughout the morning. I've got
a couple of things to raise. I was bringing some
levity to a couple of situations. One obviously boal Canson,
New Zealand. It was, you know, it was a pretty
pretty heavy kind of theme around blood and you stool
and all that kind of stuff and you know, being
aware of your health. The other one was you being

(55:00):
terrified walking around the sky Tower. So I thought I
would bring some levity by the situation by putting my
ass against the glass.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
Of the sky Tower.

Speaker 5 (55:09):
Now I've got another issue, and that is with the
maintenance crew of sky City.

Speaker 3 (55:14):
Their fare that that little.

Speaker 5 (55:17):
Discolouration is on the glass.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
What it is on the glass?

Speaker 1 (55:23):
Rubbish gave a vertical streak, a vertical brown streak right
on this on the left side of your It's just
a bird. Bird.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Birds can't get up there. It's birds just got the issue.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
Birds don't fly and sit on the sky tower wall.
I mean, there's nowhere for a bird to sit.

Speaker 3 (55:45):
I'm not saying it's setting it. This is a this
that is a wiping issue. And you know it.

Speaker 5 (55:51):
It's deployed from height. It's deployed from height.

Speaker 3 (55:54):
Andlew And then when number two is down the back
of your crack, a bird, your honor, A bird pulled
down my pants stead.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
Of I feel like I'm being punished for bringing liberty
to a situation here. I was trying to help a
mate out and I was also trying to help out
the people of New Zealander around this, bringing some liberty
to the situation around beal cancer. And I just I
just find that everyone's ignoring the fact that Big Sandy's
head puppies out next door to me.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
Well, this is the this is somebody did text that
through on three four eight three and said, terrible work
from the cameraman because someone was deploying the yoppers right
next to this, and they decided to zoe in on that. Well,
it was a woman that was filming, and I think
that's why they just pans straight past big.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
I mean, the positive thing I suppose was that there
was no blood in the streak.

Speaker 5 (56:37):
That's right, I mean, clearly, just just straight, straight, healthy DNA.

Speaker 3 (56:43):
What are you doing back there? Are you wiping up?
What are you? What happens?

Speaker 5 (56:48):
I don't know that. That's a shadow? To me, that's
not a pose. That's a shadow.

Speaker 3 (56:52):
I was thinking. I was thinking maybe a bruise bad,
it's gonna be a bruce.

Speaker 5 (57:00):
My my tailbone does get a pounding.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
Good about it?

Speaker 5 (57:06):
Are we going to talk sport on my asshole?

Speaker 3 (57:07):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what
we're going to talk.

Speaker 5 (57:11):
I've given up on this segment. I've given up on
this segment. You know what I mean. I come in,
I come in early for this. I listened to an
hour and a half. Kids in the car, daddy, you
got people in your bump yea yeah? How come I
help you out with a break. I know you're struggling
for content. Come out, help one break. I know I've

(57:32):
contributed to at least four or five breaks this morning.
I just think of thanks, wouldn't go far.

Speaker 3 (57:40):
Thank you. That's all I wanted for services.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
It was a great distraction when I'm wandering around the
outside of the skytower quite nervous, and then I looked
across and I saw that, and it made me want
to stay out there. I got to say, that's one
thing that will keep you out there is you're knowing
that your ass was inside.

Speaker 3 (57:58):
I'm like, no, no, what, I'll stay out here.

Speaker 5 (58:00):
It's here, you know what I mean, brown brown smudge
of side.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
I do feel like.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
The brown eye has kind of disappeared the way when
I was at school, Like, if you ever took a
bus ride, no matter what, someone got their ass out
on the bus window, whether it's driving down a motorway
or between schools, even just dropping someone in the back seat,
dropped the window and like, yep, properly put the ass
out the window. What's happened to that?

Speaker 6 (58:27):
I know?

Speaker 3 (58:27):
Well, my I know someone who there's a giant bridge
in with people. The tourist buses would come in and out.
They would stand on the bridge, brown eye them and
then jump off the bridge. It is a lost art.

Speaker 5 (58:38):
I mean, we used to do it to the White
Delta in Hamilton Terrorist Mine. We'd all known four or
five of us, and then one.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
Time they called the police on us.

Speaker 5 (58:45):
What the police gonna do probably probably probably clean us up.
A but I just feel like kids these days.

Speaker 3 (58:56):
Do you know why. I think it's because it's it's
the cell phones. They'll worry that it's going to get
videoed when they do it, it'll end up on social media,
and then Jerry and I will get an hour and
a half out of it.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
Everyone's got an ass to be I'm pleased that you
didn't produce the Neapolitan, which is the strawberry vanilla and.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
Chocolate, which I have seen.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
Yeah, we'll push everything else through. I was expecting that from.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
You, to be honest.

Speaker 5 (59:18):
That's the bulldog. I didn't do the bulldog full bulldog
because I mean young Zoe was out there. I mean
she doesn't need to see the full bulldog because obviously,
like I said yesterday, it goes in the order of
boy girl bulldog. You I think you said girl boy
bulldog this morning. It's boy tucket under girl, bend over bulldog.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
Yeah, Okay, we were going to talk about sport, but
let's not bother.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
Let's just wrap the well.

Speaker 5 (59:40):
I heard die Hean would pretty much cover the Warriors
off this morning. He nailed that on the head. The
cricket's looking magnificent. We are operating a very much at
Ilford second eleven situation.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
On the bowling.

Speaker 5 (59:50):
Matt Henry's injured, which as a real I was gutted
to hear that because he was going to be the
series winning bowler for US, number one bowler in the world.
He's out, Jamison's been rested. So we've got a rather
large tail with three genuine bunnies at the bottom and
Sears O'Rourke and TikTok Tickner. So they give that's I

(01:00:13):
mean great that Conway and Latham stood up more than
stood up square one hundred and fifty each, so they shit.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
They needed that though, but a case of what are
they going to do on the same pitch, because whenever
this happens the other way, when it's a capitulation, then
we go, well, but are they going to do the
same thing to us? Like could they come out and
score a million runs too? Or does it steal us?

Speaker 5 (01:00:31):
Does it does it fire up our young bowlers because
this is a chance for them to stand up. There's
no real senior bowler and anymore when you've got O'Rourke,
you'd say Tickner an age, but not really an experience.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
I think O'Rourke is the key here.

Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
He is a genuine quick bowler who bowls an awkward
length from a big height, heavy bill who would bowling
heavy ball, not as not as heavy as you're kind
of Nathan Smith's. But he will be the one who
will genuinely get out players like Joe Root and the
heavy roller Harry Brooks.

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Yeah, the questions can we can we score five hundred?
If we can get to five hundred, you don't lose
test matches from scoring five hundred in the first I
mean it's happened a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
But not very often.

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
And then you're looking at a series at least a
series draw, which is something good.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
And then also you put a bit of scoreboard pressure.

Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
On them where they look and they think, oh geez, okay,
we can't win this test.

Speaker 5 (01:01:20):
Yeah, it's gonna be a fascinating first session tonight because
I think a lot of expectations on Blundell and Mitchell
to get us to that five hundred. So it's going
to be a great weekend of staying up all night.

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Thanks very much, acc Head skid Lane.

Speaker 5 (01:01:35):
Okay, you can ditch that one. You can ditch that one.
