Speaker 1 (00:00):
Daily vers spoke content that you won't find on the
radio show The Hurt I Keep Breakfast Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Welcome along to the podcast, The third Bite of the Cherry,
The first podcast to see the Sun, the first to
see in a new day, The Day of Our Lord,
The eleventh of August Leagues eleven.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
I am thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I just didn't quite say first, probably the first time,
so I just carry it through.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Welcome. Yeah, you got to.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's like improvising in a blues band or a jazz band.
There's no wrong notes if you just repeat them, always fine.
When I'm improvising with jazz bands.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Yeah, totally.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
This is just like a jazz band in for Hey,
last night, I had an interesting situation that I could
I had a sleep injury.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Oh my god. You guys ever had a sleeping drink?
Go on right now? Have you can'k my neck?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah? Ah, it was, I mean not a full on
probably won't get a fuzzio for it, but just noticed
it when I pulled up to the first intersection this morning.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
To my head, right, it's like, now, what did you
call it? Can cank?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
And ye see, I think I call it a crack
A crack A crack of the neck.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
I'd call it a stiff neck.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Mmmm, you call it stiff, you call it a cank?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Cank?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I call it a crank. I thought a cank is
more like a crack, a crack. Sorry, what did you
call it a crank?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Right? A cank?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
I thought it was more of a sexual thing, like
something that's a little bit unusual.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
What about say, for example, you're using a hose and
you're quite far away from the tap and you need
to turn the flow of water off at the hose.
What will you do to that hose? Would you put
a cank in that hose to stop the water? Would
have cank at that point?

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Cank? Yeah, so you're saying that's what's neck?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Whereas where have I got crack from a crack? At
that someone's neck? Had a crack in the neck?

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Is that a word? I feel like i've heard it before.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
A crack of the neck.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
If you told me you had a crack of your
neck or a c in your neck, I would know
what you meant.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, it's not not a word that I've used for
the last Also, this really turns me on what's happened
to my neck?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
So that's one way iron you can't turn.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah, yeah, so yours is obviously you have slept in
a particular way.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I sleep like that on my front with my head
turned to the left.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Oh, and it's just you just stretched it out too much.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah. I just felt it was so cold in my
room last night, and that makes me.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Sleep so hard. Colder it is, I could sleep I
just a bit.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
In fact, in my youth, I did fall asleep in
a paddock once and work up with a sheet of
frost over the top of me. But I would have
been more comfortable there than like mildly too warm.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah, I know what it doesn't mean really cold?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
You just out Yeah, well though, were you cold or
the ear was cold around you and you were warm
under your under your cozy little situation?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
That one?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
What situation are you running at the moment.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
We've got the we've got the duckdown down whatever the
cheaper one is, duck down, duckdown, Yeah, down, duck down,
duckdown douve. Yeah, the duckdown blanket on top of that, nah,
duckdown douve. It's got a pseudo corduroy.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Dove cover.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
We have linen sheets boom which we blow a hole
through I don't know, every six months, but they look cool.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Do they wear out fast linen sheets?

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Do they?

Speaker 5 (03:34):
The other thing is when you're pulling on the sheets
and then you almost make a handle in the in
the spite of it.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
You put your finger through it.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Yeah. Yeah, I always seems to be my side annoyingly.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Okay, I'm running a cotton rather than a linen, but
I do like a linen sheet. I'll sleep in a linen.
Oh that's good.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
That is nice. That's good.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
But that's interesting that they don't have the same amount
of durability as the common It's a.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Low ThReD count thing. I mean, these things are essentially
like heresy and sex. But when the you know, but
when you know some you know, some nights the bed
just needs to be made again. You don't need to
replace the sheets, You just need it just needs Do
you forget out the show of that? Hey, can we
just give it a little Yeah? Sometimes you can get

(04:21):
away with just pulling the sheets, you know, pulling and
jiggling it. Sometimes the duvet has to come all the
way off and you read it's like they're not dirty.
We don't need to replace the sheets, I know, exactly
what you mean.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
In fact, I think it had happened last night now,
but it was like, oh, this feels like the sheets
have been replaced, and I was like, no, no, I think
Tulsa is just she just read on the top head
a little refresh, particularly the top sheet, because sometimes it
can end a bit skew earth and it's come away
from the foot. You know, it's not as mean to
be tucked in at the foot, but if it comes
away at the foot, yeah, then you've got his shoes
because it's not even I.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Want it too long.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
You don't want it too long.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
No, not at the not at the heat end. Not
the under sheet, because you end up and you're wandering
around with it.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And gets caught up in your arm and it's all
over her side. But then the blankets on your side
or vice versa. An hour situation, they both end up
over her side because a cat lies beside her. She
rolls over, then she gets cold, she rolls back over,
and she.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Takes the whole fucking oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
And she goes I've noticed that the blanket ends up
on my side quite a bit, as I have.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
You.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
You picked up on that because you're a blanket.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
I'm the blanket thief in mine. I don't want to
be the blanket thief. I'm the one that runs hot.
But for some reason the morning.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I take take take even in your sleep.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Yeah, you're right, I'm sorry you just take take take.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
So what was your sleep injury?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Oh, so I seem to have done this. I've been
doing it a bit recently. I seem to have got
up off the bed and then done some weird twisting
maneuver and in my sleep.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Got up off the bit.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, I've been doing this recently, kind of mild sleepwalking, right,
like doing kind of I've threshed about somehow, and my
knee is so sorene and I think I've done it.
I don't know what I've done, but I've overextended it.
But obviously it's in my sleep somehow, and I've woken

(06:16):
up and it is like, oh, manners a cank in
your knee. It's like I've been skiing for three days
or something. So I'm not sure what I've done. I
vaguely remember that something in the night, maybe getting out
of falling out of bed or something in the middle
of the night. But the other night I found myself
standing up in the on the bed, on the bed,

(06:39):
I woke and I'm up. I'm standing on Now that
is dangerous bed. It's quite high up off.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
The ground and you can fall over on flat ground.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I take one step and I'm gone.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Frightening for Tulsa. Like, imagine waking up in this dude
six foot three four three three, it's just standing over you.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
I think what was three? Now? Two? Actually?

Speaker 2 (07:03):
But yeah, yeah, she just would sleep through it. She
doesn't give her fuck. Yeah, she gives zero funcks about
what's happening at night, like zero. She goes to sleep
and she is so asleep. I could I'm not joking.
I could have an affair like she could go to sleep.
We could both go to sleep together and I could
literally get someone else in have make love to them

(07:27):
in the beard and she would not wake up.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
I was going to say, so she did. She go
back straight back to sleep again.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
I was going to say, you could draw a mustache
on her face, and you went with heaven a fear.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
So that's yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
You went to assault her and you went into a
cheat on it. Yeah, I think that's I was thinking, Oh,
you could you could tuck her in and make sure
she was nice and warm, maybe lay her clothes out
for it the next morning. That's what I was thinking.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
She turns into an unhuman, she dehumanizes when she goes
to sleep, and she's has zero personality. She's not herself,
She's just this zombie creature.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Isn't that terrifying? Yeah, because my missus sleep sleep talks
every now and then, and it's the it's the most
alone you'll ever feel in your life, as being in
a bedroom with someone who's like, not fucking dear.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
It's quite freaky.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
It's so scary. There's one night she is on about
the I just woke up to her and muttering something.
I was like, what's that, mate? She's like, the tea taels?
What the tea tails? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:27):
What? What? Hey? What do you want about.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
The tea tails? We're not talking sense girl, What details
the tea, the cloth, the bloody tee taels? What about
the And then in your mind you start trying to
make sense of it, so you're like, maybe that was
what happened with are they the? Are they in?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
The driver was supposed to put them on.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Jerry and the Naia joined the conflicts the Hard Act
You Breakfast discussion group on Facebook. For more cheeringly Wells
and the Naias Stewart find them on Instagram Keep Breakfast.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
I went missus Roader up the other night in the
middle of the night with my hands are gone numb.
My hand's gone numb. And she's like, she was trying
to figure out if it was real. Lord, yeah, dream
and she's like, what's that?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
And my hand's gone fucking numb and she's.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Like what And I was like, but I wake her up.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
I got the numb hands.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I've had a numb hand. I mean sometimes you lie
in your arm and you'll get a number hand. Maybe
you did have a numb hand. I mean you didn't
need to share it with her. It's a personal thing,
really or.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
I swear I custody.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah, so Toli, when I first started going out with her,
like we would somehow stay out sometimes stay out at
her mum's place, and she'd she falls asleep really really easily,
really really early. So she would like when I first
st going out there, we'd be sitting around maybe watching TV,
and then mum's lawd her mom would be in there
as well. We'd be in front of the fire or something,

(09:58):
and she'd fall asleep and I'd just be there with
her mom, all good, chatting away, and I'd then go
to wake her up to go to bed, or her
mum would, and she would turn into the psycho she's as,
she turns into an absolute psycho, and she'd be like,
she'd get this look in her eye, the true her

(10:20):
came out and.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
She took the mask off.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Yeah, and it was.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Like someone by by trying to move her and take
her to bed. You're basically you're committing you're attempting some
kind of sexual assault. And she was she'd fight back
at you. She was so angry about it. And so anyway,
I got to know that that so when as soon
as she fell asleep she turned into this into this
basically the psycho, she's put dialt back over the years.

(10:46):
So now she's a zombie person.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Because I guess having to wake up for kids the
zombie person doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
She never woke up for kids. If it was like,
if it was between then to sleep and about three, yeah,
no me. Yeah, And if it was after three, it
was it was either her or me.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
But you know, we mixed it up.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Whoever woke up, but definitely before that, she would like
our children would die in the while. If something happened
to the children, you're out on.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
The wooly memmoth hunt. She's back in the cave.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Our children would have died, but something if an animal
had have come up and tried to take them away
and out of the out of our teepee, she would
have not should have slipped through the whole thing, and
she would have lost all of our children.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Yeah, it's a it's a real problem.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
She would have been rested and ready to go and
search for them.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Oh, she would have been good during the day. No,
she's solid as anything during the day.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Fairy pecker.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yeah, very pecker, great contributor, very capable, a real problem solve,
a great, great person to have around. But yeah, at night,
as soon as she goes to sleep, absolutely useless. And
the other thing, now I've worked out, so we've been
watching a lone season thirteen as a family.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
So we're all on the couch together. Good times.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
You know, if you can get your teenage kids together
on a couch at night, it's a real lost art
because oftentimes now just children just sit on their phones
by themselves. It's a very kind of personal kind of thing.
You know, you're not interacting with the family, you're just
kind of or you're in your room on your phone,
which is really depressing. And we've sort of tried to
shut that down.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Because nowadays you're not even talking to other people on
the phone. No, I'd just scrolling, yeah, and they odd
message to their mates. But like my age, when I'd
go out of the room to spell on my phone,
I'm just talking to my friends, yeah, whereas now it's
not even that nah, So it's.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Quite hard to bring teenage kids together as a family.
Those moments don't exist as much as you'd like. So
actually watching TV together, it's back in the day people
would always be like, my parents are like, oh, you know,
we watch too much TV. Nowadays it's like, could we
all watch a TV program together? There's will be such
a great family activity. So we're watching a Loan season thirteen.

(12:56):
We're all sitting on the couch together, We're all watching.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
The same thing. It's so bloody good. It makes me
so happy.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I'm so excited that we're together as a family watching TV.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
How sad is that?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
And so Tozzy will always fall asleep.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
We're watching TV.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
She always falls asleep, but around about eight thirty falls asleep.
So what I've realized is it's my job as the
dad to humiliate her in front of the kids, and
that really bonds us. Yeah, like the humiliation of her
and playing tricks on her while she's asleep beautiful is
just it cracks up. My kids have finally found something

(13:37):
that makes them laugh. It's taken me years to make
my kids laugh. They're so hard to they don't find
me funny at all.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
It's driving a wedge between her and the rest of
the family.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
But well, someone's got What I realized is family humiliation
is a crucial, crucial part of being in a family,
and you've got it.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
That's where you learn to take a joke.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, And if you don't have other people making fun
of you inside of your family, then where do you
How do you learn to take a joke.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
That's such a good point.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
So the family got all gang up on you.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Those people that can't can't take a joke, That's probably
what's happened to the families, and no one took the
pass out of each other.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Like my family used to gang up on me the
whole time. And then we're gang up on my brother,
we're ganging up her mom. We're humanly at my dad.
It was like there was a lot of three on
one and so I'm taking that again. And anyway, it's
three on one and she's the but she's the best.
But of particularly when she's asleep. So I will blow
on her hair and she'll be asleep and like looking
like a zombie. And then I'll be like, watch this,

(14:32):
and I'll be like and I'll be blowing on her head.
She's like, she sort of wakes up, and then she
goes back to sleep again, and it really gets the
kids going. And now I'm going to think where I
get my fingers and I just put them just up
her nose likely and she's like wakes up and I
pull them away and she's got no idea what's going
on all and there's so much join up beautiful. In fact,

(14:55):
I look forward to that now more than I look
forward to the TV part. Oh that's the TV parts,
Just the thing to get her asleep so I can
make the kids laugh.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
You should do the thing that you do with like
your cat or a dog, and see how many objects
you can put on her before she wakes up, get
the remote and a cell phone.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Okay, I'm doing that tonight.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Yeah, that's a great idea of the old Bukaroo approach.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
I'll take that tonight. We'll see what we can do
to her. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Yeah, And but then she wakes up and she's she
has no sense of humor. Yeah, because she's the zombie state.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
So she's never my missus like that too, and you
wake her up, she's just in a fear. Even if
she's like, hey, can you wake me up? But blah
blah blah, I just gonna do this. Yeah, sweet, you
wake up?

Speaker 4 (15:36):
What I'm working you up? I wasn't asleep.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
She doesn't don't mind me waking up in the morning,
she's she's she's great in the morning, straight up happy.
But the middle of the.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Night, yeah yeah, she's a cant Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
A lot actually about her off you.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Count in the night.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Oh, here's a chance to say it to her.
