You want to go best to three, maybe best of
three situation? Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Okay, hopefully we've got three people listening. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Do you want to tell us what you're You're honest?
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yes, minus the Kaiser chiefs. I predict the riter bit
of energy first thing in the morning.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Don't mind that I have a suspicion that people are
voting for you and not the song. So I'm going
to pick the last year's goat Black by Pearl Jam
What I'm led to believe is that the listeners of
the radio Hadaki radio station believe that that's the greatest
song of all time.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Let's find out well.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Odds on that that would be you would popular song?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Some of it's past six go to the fire lines,
give us a call I eight hundred haaky I E
one hundred four to seven five on to decide to

talking to?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Good mo wow? Man? How would they know because we
don't have the person? Yeah, good stuff? Who we're talking to?
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Yeah? Morning Billy?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Oh molly, how's it going too bad? If you don't
mind me asking? What do you do for a crust
that you're up so early?
Speaker 5 (01:41):
A great operator?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Do you go?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
That's right? Jeez? Should be called up a crane today, Willie?
Where are you based?
Speaker 5 (01:49):
We're not up the cranes. We're driving them around around?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Oh yeah, ye whereabouts?
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Currently o? Who hitting over to north shore?
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Couple a couple of tilt sleds on the cards this morning?
Speaker 5 (02:02):
No no, just general construction lists today.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
No pannels.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Will you take State Higway twiny on the way through
from Otahohu through to the shore. Or are you going
to go straight down the guts and state ho one?
Will he?
Speaker 6 (02:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
No, so we're not allow and over the bridge. So
you're going to go the long way around.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
Past the tunnel and the causeway supposedly and the long
way round.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Good to know, good route chat, Yeah, great route chat.
How do you? How do you reckon? Jeria? Go as
a dog man? We're big, good dog man for you, WILLI? Yeah,
they're right, all right? Clear clear signals?
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Yeah, good ship chat on site.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
That's me, Willie. Which song would you like to vote for?
I predicted right by Kaiser Chiefs or Pearl Jam Black.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
I'd have to go with I predicted right this early
in the morning.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Fair enough, Thank you very much?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Fair enough? You know what one call? One call? I
think besides it for me, I think i've my research
has been conducted this morning when I.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
A staw on the doughnut.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
Yeah, I didn't know it was a competition, but I've
now realized there was a guy the other day who
voted for your song before I'd even played by it,
and they've now voted.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Against the Guts. I think I can see what's going
on here.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
You don't see you, Willie? Have a lovely day to day.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Jerry and LENI the Hodachy Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
There it is the kickoff today kinds of chiefs. I
predict a ride at ten per six on the Hodech Breakfast.
Be shocked.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
If that was any higher than five hundred in the
Goat countdown, be absolutely shocked.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Well, so, look, there's a time and a place for
the greatest of all time. Yeah, you don't always want
to hear greatest of all time songs in the morning. Yeah,
you know, to be honest, pel Jam Black. When do
I want to hear Pearl Jam Blander? Probably not often,
quite a lot on the on the car ride on
the way home.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yeah, when you're thinking about just swerving it into a
power pole and you're like.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
I reckon after you've been out for night, but then
you've decided to go home and after about four or
five beers, Yeah, and then someone who's whip said on
when you get home, yeah, and it's a friends over
that you haven't seen for some time, which she finally.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Tells you that it's over despite the fact that you've
known it for quite some time. You go out to
the shep and just drink by yourself. That's probably when
I want to probably when I want to hear it.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, perfect, yeah, perfect time.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
It was a theory I wanted to test that.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I feel like people are calling in on the blind
are just voting forty of the song Jerry peck that.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
I was like, let me run this by picking.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
The Last Year's Goat, which is ostensibly the greatest song
of all time, as voted by you the listener.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
I was like, surely that's undefeatable.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Well, should we maybe go next tomorrow? We go here
are your two songs. So you pick a song or
I pick a song, but we don't say to the
listener who picked what.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
You test Yourly, that'll.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Just the theory. I'm just having to look now they're
doing the rounds.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
You're going to pick something called Jerry, aren't your theory?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
On? Dunedin and Kaititi are sharing the same morning temperature,
which is the craziest theory. If you said to me
a year ago, before I'd seen the data, if you
said to me, I reckon Dunedin and Katy are often
the same temperature first thing in the morning in the winter,
I would have said, you can piss right off. Yes,
I would have said you crazy.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Well, you know, and I wouldn't have said it either
until we started doing the rounds and I noticed that
there was a correlation and that Dunedin often warmer than
you would think it would be, which is crazy because
I lived there through many winters and it did not
feel like I was in kait Tire.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
I can tell you that for nothing. There was frost
on the inside the wall.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
There was a frost outside our house that didn't thought
for two weeks. One day, I was walking underneath a
bridge there's like an overpass we drive in and out
of Dunedin on the north side. This car just and
right out family of force spun out into a ditch,
was going about twenty k's.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah. Well there's that famous icy
road that the TVNZ cameraman ross has been down there forever.
As soon as there's a bit of snow icy just
go straight to the corner, Yeah, and bomb cars just
slide into. And also I think people know when it
is going to be icy that they shouldn't pack their
cars in a particular place because they will get slid into.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
I noticed this time around there were no cars that
were on the foot path or not in the fop part,
but you know parked up because people were like, you know,
cars are going to slide into it. So people are
people are getting you know, people are copping on.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
So what are we this morning?
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Well you're looking at nine for Dunedin, but it went
about today. It's so in fact though, Ka tire nine.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
I want to know from the met service where is
the thermometer and Dunners like, is it in a weird
spot where it's warmer than everywhere else? Is it sheltered
from the wind and where's ka tire? Is that on
like a you know, in a howling suddenly it's it
in a fridge.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I think that the the fact I'm thinking just putting
my meteorological head on here. I think the fact that
it's a peninsula and it sits out and the water
just moderates the temperature slightly, which so that means that
in the winter I think they used to take it,
i know, from Outram which is in land obviously, and
to need an airport also, which is a Mormona, and
(07:30):
then people went nan People were up in arms so
like this is ridiculous. But in the summer, as a result,
it was much higher but in the winter it was
much lower. So I think the.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Fact that it's out a little bit, yeah, moderates the
temperature in the wonder. We need to get someone on
from the Met Service and conduct an investigation. I would
love to do that, hold them account.
Speaker 8 (07:48):
Yeah, but we could get Brando on. He works for
a Newer Earth Sciences, New Zealand. They've got together, so
surely he wouldn't know put a cool through.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Okay, looking here at Auckland, Tammacky mikoto as only eight degrees. Now,
this is why it's interesting. Hamilton zero. Really, there is
an eight degree difference between Auckland and Hamilton just down
the motorway.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Proud Inland, Port of Hamilton zero.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Are you gott a barm eat ten in Wellington? So
you're looking at the basically the highest temperature at the
moment is in Wellington.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Queenston seven, christ Chi Queenstance seven. Queenston seven not minus
seven seven?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Geez, are we throw it?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Do you reckon?
Speaker 4 (08:24):
We throw the worst of it.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
It'll come back. It'll come back and bite you in
the ass at some point, just when the lambs are born. Yeah,
there'll be a heavy snow.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Heavy snow, and then forty degrees in Ashburton the next day.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
It has to test those old wooly buggers out Jerry.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
And midnight the hold ikey breakfast.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
You see this lady who has been given a parking
ticket over on the Highbiscus Coast, which is north of Auckland.
For those of you playing along at home, a parking
company has apologized to an Auckland woman after she received
a parking ticket of staying too long the supermarket car park.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Well, fair enough, fair enough, fair enough.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
You can't stay too long. So what's the problem with me?
You can't stay too long in a bloody supermarket car park?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Problem as she died right and was brought back to life.
Oh so there's yeah, so there, yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
So.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
The fifty four year old collapsed in the car park
of the New World Supermarket and Audio at Auckland's High
Biscus Coast on July twenty six. Paramedics told family that
it hard had stopped and momentarily she was technically dead.
As she was then taken to the North Shore Hospital
by an ambulance in a car which was allowed to
remain in the car park for ninety minutes.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Wasn't moved for.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
Five and a half hours.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
I could imagine there would have been some you know,
some some real they needed those car parks really badly
hot competition with car parks on the High Biscus Coast
New World.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
On a side note, I feel like this is why
I'm asking for your in the upcoming election. One of
my policies will be if there are free parks in
that car park, you're not allowed to find me for
leaving my car. Yet only if it's full and I
leave it for too long, should I be allowed to
to be fined? What's the issue with having a car
parked in there for too long if there's five free
car parks at the side of it.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yeah, some car parks obviously more full than others. But
I do frequent one particular supermarket and it's mass of
the car park. It's never full. Yeah, there's whole areas
where you could essentially build houses and it would be fine.
In fact, they need to carve off some of the
car park and ext in subdevelopment. Yeah, totally built some
affordable housing. I think so so in this situation, I mean,
(10:27):
I feel like I've died a couple of times momentarily
and parked my carents and places. So did she get off?
What happened to there?
Speaker 3 (10:33):
She got an eighty dollars breach notice a few days later,
right after the circumstances were explained, they said.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You know what, fine, we're going to reduce it to thirty.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Well, yeah, I mean she was obviously, and when did
she have the heart attack? So when did she die? Like,
had she already breached it?
Speaker 4 (10:51):
No?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
No, no she hadn't. When she died, she was then
taken to the hospital. Yeah, within the ninety minutes a
lot of time, and then whilh she's in the hospital
for five and a half hours. Then probably once they
once her family realized oh she's alive again and she's
probably in a stable condition, then they would have gone, okay,
now let's allocate.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Some resources to move in that car.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
By that stage, the supermarket was just like, I don't
care what's happened to you, mate, The rules are the rules.
Sea's ninety minutes, you've been here for five and a
half hours. Copper aded dollar fine. So then when she explained, hey,
sorry about that, I was dead.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Hope that's like I hope this, I hope this.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Makes a you know, goes a little way to explaining
why that car was left an otherwise empty parking lot
for five and a half hours.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah, but the issue here is her died. I mean
there's people dying in the car back the whole time.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
It's a good point.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I mean that place there's a hotbed of death.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
The staff at the New World there intervened and paid
the thirty dollars into the woman's account.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Plat.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I mean, come on, what about the owners of the
New World.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
There's multi millionaire record profits. But Jerry and Mania the
Hururucky Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Six thirty on the Herdacky Breakfast. Time for your latest
sport headlines thanks to export ult to the beer for here,

(12:29):
the season with a high ankle sprain as a result.
He's lucky, isn't he And potentially October and November's World Cup.
So have a good rest he'll love that. I think
you'd probably be happy with that because they were in
the they were kind of in the Wooden spoone was
close to the Wooden spoone position win.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
There, Yeah, and then they'll be even closer now. But yeah,
you would have to think so. But interestingly that means
because Chance probably would have played six this week. So
how do they bring in We'll find out today at
four o'clock. I'm here in Luke Hanson, out of the
New South Wales Cup team.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I'm hearing Richie Mowoner. Oh but many four minutes Tennasdale
Smith and Jacob Laban have accepted one thousand dollar fines
for their Grade one charges of a careless high tackle
and dangerous contact respectively. They are available selection for selection
Uncapped Islanders prope Solar mo Ma has been confirmed as
(13:24):
Olie Norris's replacement on the New Zealand rugby tour of
South Africa. All Blacks coach Dave Rennie says they had
no concerns bringing in a tight head specialist for a
lucid given Cyari Laaki and others can cover both sides
of the scrum. Rennie is confirmed Will Jordan and Cam
Royguard should plan the opening test on Sunday morning. All
the fitness of Damien Mackenzie and Cortez Ratima is monitored.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
You would have to think DMA could be fine. That's
why they sort of brought them off. Soon as helt
come have off going in the ice bath, you'll come
right because it seems to me he is our first
choice starting.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Fullback, right yep.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Damien in mcginzi, yep, you'd have to think so.
Speaker 8 (14:01):
Is that an interesting wording?
Speaker 1 (14:02):
As well?
Speaker 8 (14:03):
Rennie has confirmed that Jordan and roy Gard should play.
Can you confirm that someone should play?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah, well he has I guess. I guess.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
One he's not saying they will play because you never
know what's going to happen between now and when they
named the team.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
The other thing is AI wrights he thought.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
I guess. But also I think they've been nurturing, nurturing,
nursing those injuries. Yeah to those guys anyway, Me and
myrle co op being coach. Michael Checker is set for
a Warata's return and super rugby. The former Wallaby's coach
in current Sidney Rooster's NRL assistant didn't apply when expressions
of interest were called by Rugby Australia, but it's understood
(14:41):
they have since sought out Checker and a deal could
be finalized as early as this one.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Shoulder tapped them.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Geez, what a good position to be in where you're
just coaching stuff.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
And people like, can you come coach our team?
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Yeah, Well this is the whole thing with Raiser Robinson.
Robert Robertson, who has moved around, has been suggested that
he might be involved in the in the franchise on
the South Island for the for the league.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Are they just I mean it's a tough job being
a coach because you get sacked all the time.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
But are they just not that many of them? And
so you'll always like the.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Coaching carousel just turns one more turn and you're on
a different pony.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
And I think essentially you become a manager of sorts,
so you become you're managing other coaches and a man manager,
a leader of men.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
That's right, Jerry and Mian night the hot I keep breakfast.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
So what's happening at the moment politicians out on their hustings.
What's a husting? I don't know what is.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
What is a gunnal. Who knows when something's pack to
the gunnals? What's that?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Who knows? But they're traveling around the country talking to
the voters, trying to win their votes, going to town halls.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
It's just another one of those things where I see
and I go.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Who the hell would want to be a politician? Could
you imagine walking into the one of those town halls.
Most of the people that are there, they're there because
they're angry with you. People that think you're doing a
good job probably don't show up. He's done it all right.
I don't need to go down and see them.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I think if you do want to be one politician
out on the hustings, it's probably win e p. Because
he goes along and he just has his people and
he just preaches. He just preaches to his people.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
That's a good point.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I love him.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I guess the more device ive you are, the more
likely people are to only show up if.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
They love you.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Nowadays, yeah, yeah, they're not going to.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Shove up they don't like you.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
If you're an incumbent prime minister, that's the worst person
to be out on the hustlang.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Yeah, because everybody looks at you and goes, hey, last
three years of my life haven't been great.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
What's the plan here.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Brother, especially if you're not a particularly popular prime minister,
and particularly if the economy is not going very well.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Yes, so I see when he went down to Nelson.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
This is one of those headlines that you know sometimes
sometimes as a as a half assed radio DJ, you know,
you can scramble for content. Some days it's delivered to
you on a plate. Christopher Luxon's advice to struggling dominatrix.
Do I have your attention?
Speaker 8 (16:50):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
So he's down in well Nelson rather for one of
these town halls, and somebody came to him. It was
a dominatrix. She's a deaf dominator who had gone to
Nelson from Wellington. She said that her business had been
severely impacted by the layoffs in government.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
You haven't really had my attention here because I've never
heard of a deaf dominatrix.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
That's an interesting well, we're just talking about off here.
What's your what's your safe word? You know, like for
us here on the SHOT's watermelon? How do you tell
a deaf dominatrix watermelon? Is that part of the thrill
that you can't there is no safe work? Is it
the lack of safety?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
That fascinating? Absolutely fascinating, fascinating choice of vocation.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
I think you would have to tap out like a
UFC fight.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
But what happens if you leave the room? What happens
if it's a Peter Plumney Walker situation and you know
the whole thing is about being tied up and then
leaving the room and you're waiting for the bang being
bang on the door or the ministress line.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
You'd need a light, I think a light of flashing
lighterhaps to know how I'm tapping out here?
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Maybe partially deaf, maybe not fully deaf.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
That's a good point.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
That's a good point, yea, so she said. She asked
about policies to cut the public service in Wellington and
Luxon replied, your issue is the demand problem, right.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
So she started by saying, I am a former dominatrix.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Yes, okay, great, I'm deaf and what's the plan with
cutting public services in Wellington because I am facing a
bit of a downturn? Luxon said, your issue is the
demand problem, right, adding that he'll rebuild the economy which
would benefit all businesses.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
I mean, I think he's he's right there. He has
identified what the problem is. It is a demand problem.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
But it's like, what question could you possibly ask a
politician that they won't immediately defer to robot? Politician MoES
deaf Dominatrix said, since you sacked all of your cronies
in Wellington, I got no client tell anymore. And well,
what I would say to he is, we're going to
rebuild a strong economy.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Well he came back with quite an interesting response. What
I'm saying is is I understand that your thesis is
because we may have lost some people in the public sector,
did the demand for your business and your services. So
the reality is that we're going to grow New Zealand
and that's why we talk a lot about economic growth.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
This has got to be satire, doesn't it? Is she
actually a deaf dominatrix. Has she gone down there and gone,
what's the craziest thing I could ask him? That he'll
still give me a straight across.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
The plate art Like what if you were down there
and were like, hey, so I'm the Nelson Marlboro Region's
premiere pingislinger and the cost for cocaine has gone through
the roof.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
While meth is coming down.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
What are you as a government going to do about
the cost of cocaine in this country?
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Would he still then go?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
What I would say to you is we're rebuilding a
stronger economy that's going to work for all New Zealanders
and it'll be more money floating around to buy your product.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Well, where she went next was quite interesting because the
conversation continued. She said they definitely resulted in losing my
customer base, claiming customers still wanted his services but could
no longer afford it. Now here comes the interesting bit.
The fact is she said to the Prime Minister in
a town hall meeting, this is the deaf Dominatrix and Nelson.
Demand is there, but the clients are staying at home
(20:02):
and masturbating to free porn, not because they want to,
but because that's all they can afford.
Speaker 8 (20:09):
There's a picture of her too in the town hall,
looking up at Crisla.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
She described her physical appearance.
Speaker 8 (20:14):
Well, my physical appearance description is that she's doing sign language.
So it would be interesting to see what the sign
language is to staying home masturbating free porn.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
That is what I'm wondering is this arose, because if
it is, it's pretty impressive.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Jerry and Mini the Hodarkey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
So you would have seen a whole lot of AI
advertising around the place, a lot of companies now using
AI to create images, some of them human images.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah, it made me think because I was talking to
made of Mine about this at the pub the other
day and he said, because there's a bunch of shops
around town that have used this for their logo and that,
and then sometimes you go into a bar and there'll
be a menu in there and that has clearly been
blasted through AI.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
And on the one hand, it has made it.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
More accessible for small to medium enterprises or Smeeeze Smith,
for the smigles of the world out there who couldn't
afford a graphic designer back in the day, but now
they you know, it's leveled the playing field.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
But by the flip side of that, there are can
be potentially off putting.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
And so I wanted to know from you guys, would
you not go to a business just because it had
an AI.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Logo graphic image thing on it.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
It's an interesting one for me. It depends on the
size of the business, because as you're talking about Smeez smigles,
Smee's a lot of speed struggling at the moment. Yeah,
and I think if there is a way to save
some money, and it probably is by using AI, then
I say embrace that. However, yeah, I think some of
the big corporates that are doing it. Yeah, and I
know TVNZ recently did it and got absolutely hammered for it.
(21:47):
They did it for some of the MPC advertising and
they went to AI and it generated a whole lot
of images. They were quite open about it, they said
that they'd done it.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
And what were the So was it like fake crowds?
Speaker 1 (21:58):
You have fake crowds films.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
One is film the actual crowds they already televised in
the games.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
It's a really good question. Maybe they didn't in the footage.
I don't know why they're like there would be a reason.
But anyway, people who were the fans of those places,
like for example, Matter or two, Yeah, they realized that
these were not fans. They didn't quite look right. Yeah,
you could just tell as a fan.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
I think that's the part is when you're trying to
make fake humans like real humans exist, that there's something
about it. It's that it really is off putting to
people to see fake people out.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
There, especially something as delicate as fandom. Yes, because fandom
is very hard to come across. So yeah, and it's
very hard to replicate. It's hard to create fandom. It
just happened, and it has to be authentic. So if
you try and force it, then that's what puts people off.
And I think that's a big thing about A I
know even here at Hod we have used AI for
a couple of like random things. It's like someone come
(22:48):
up with an obscure idea and like run that through
AI will put a picture up.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
The comments, particularly on Facebook, are just flooded with like, hey,
I get this AI crap out of here, Like it
really hits.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
A nerve with people pushing back against it.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Yeah, so if you saw I've put one in there.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I don't want to slag these people off on the radio,
but a small to medium enterprise, it's a dogwash.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
They have made one. If you see that, does that
make you want to use their services or not?
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Well, I think what's interesting about this particular image is
that they've used you And why are you holding a peg?
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Well, I don't know because it's not actually me, that's AI.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
But it looks a hell of a lot like you.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
I will say, speaking of AI yesterday Zoe who's not
here this morning, And I'll tell you about why later.
But she made an AI image of swift justice and
made me real fat in the image, and I was like,
you know, you could have made me look like literally anything. Well, yeah,
(23:49):
I'm not going to tell you the prompt that I
put into the AI to make it.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
I was like, oh, what fat Indian bluggets out of
the car.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Well, the other thing is you can always go back
and ask another another parts that.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
She did little fair nah nah no to make him fatter.
That seems to be represented. So that's why I's not
here today.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
How can that makes sense? I thought some preyers than me.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
She's done me dirty.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
There. You do look quite pot holding a pug though.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah, I might need to get one, you know.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
I need to think about it. And bread terrible respiratory issues.
Not you, I say, what about.
Speaker 9 (24:33):
The fuc coming up with Jerry?
Speaker 1 (24:36):
And and I am it's academic of fifty dollars bunnings
about you up for grabs time? Whilesh Olympic medal weinning shop,
but it joins us on the show too. He's getting
some interesting comments on his social media post.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yes, we also want to discuss the latest fashion trend.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
It is New Zealand Fashion Week at the moment and
shot put Sheek is taking the world by storm. That's
tight little shorts and a big, baggy sing little t shirt.
You'll often see a millennial woman wearing shot put chic.
My missus does it. We want to discuss that with
him potentially, is there like a clothing range that he
could launch off the back of us.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Jerry and Mini the hod Ikey Breakfast, the hold Ikey Breakfast.
These go they are well trained, they're well paid with
Jerry and Mini.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Welcome along to the Hidocky Breakfast. If you've just joined us,
it's nice to have your company. Tuesday, the eighteenth of
August twenty twenty six. My name is Jimmy Wells. This
has a nice step.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Chooesday, Massive Tuesday coming up.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
It is as always a lame claim to fame Tuesday,
but because the goats on at the moment as well,
we're a very busy show this morning. We're moving lame
claims to fame up to the seven o'clock. I usually
do it at around eight, but we'll be well and
truly into what number are we starting in eight hundred, eight.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
Hundred on the countdown one hundred.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Also this our Tom Wilsh Olympic medal winning shot putter
getting some interesting comments on his social media posts. He's
got an interesting fan base, an unlikely fan base here.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Yeah, yeah, or is it? I guess we'll find out.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
But I also want to know if he's aware of
shot put hiker, if that's something that we've only discussed
in the four walls of this studio. But that is
the fashion that is spreading across the globe, of tight
shorts and big baggy T shirts, often the demand of
the millennial woman, but also the demand of the shot putter.
I think there's a range of clothing that can come
out of.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
This, especially in swimming black So coming up next, your
lame claims to fame. Give us a text three four
eight three No claim to fame is too lame, Where
you can give us a call O eight hundred HEDECHI
and tell us on air your lame claim to fame.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Jeremie Wells and the nice Stuart the Hurdarchy breakfast.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
It's time for lame claims to fame. This is my
highlight of the week. A bottomless well of lame claims
to fame that's self propagating. Every week you find a
new one. But I do wonder, one day are we
going to hit the bottom of this well.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Maybe today is the day that we hit the bottom
of the well.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Richard just called through and in immediately hung up again. Richard,
if you'd like to call back, he had a lame
claim to fame. I would love to hear from it,
and anyone else would like to get in touch on
eight hundred Hdarchy.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Yeah, let's be clear, no claim to fame is too lame.
In fact, the lamer the bidding us.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
There's a couple of ticks that have come through.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
My friend's son was Frodo's body double, and my uncle
was camera Mantou camera Man two. The second one, Oh,
I'm just gonna have one cameraman on Lord of the Roads.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Okay, so hard on Camera man too. But there was
no it wasn't an extra camera man too. He didn't
play Camera Man two because I imagine there's not any cameras.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
That wasn't a role No, he wasn't playing there.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
He wasn't an extra camera. I played camera mantoo on
Lord of the Rings. It's like he was a camera manteau.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yes, okay, he wasn't a camera man also, he he
was just camera mantou. Number two, Yeah, all right, should
we go to the phones online?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Number one?
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Good morning, here's talking to Richard Richard.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, good Richard.
Speaker 10 (28:06):
My Aline clay Vane was Actually I was on the
Son of a Gun Show and I'm guessing this.
Speaker 11 (28:12):
Is probably maybe thirty years ago.
Speaker 8 (28:16):
Yeah, that was on the There was a building by.
Speaker 9 (28:19):
Let him a square and Christchers at the used to
film out of the and it was I was on
the Mary Houcker and I was the only white boy,
so I thought it was pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
There we go. So that was the Son of a
Gun Show hosted by Jason Gunn. That was Jason. That
was the afternoon show, wasn't it. That followed up from
three forty five Live. Probably yeah, I don't know if
you remember three forty five Richard. And then of course
before that was after School with Ollie Olsen. Oh nice,
great days.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Do you have the do you have a copy of that? Richard?
Like is that on VH somewhere in your family.
Speaker 6 (28:51):
I wish I did, but if you can dug one out,
that would be pretty crack up.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Yeah, Richard, did you get to me? He was stingy
there as well.
Speaker 5 (28:59):
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
I don't know, sin thing you might have been there,
or it might adjust face out, I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Oh, he'd lost the eye by that stage, and they
decided to ditch him because I always wondered a look
behind the curtain, and I don't want to ruin the
illusion for a whole lot of people listening on who
don't realize this, but thing he was a puppet, and
the person who used to operate the puppet Alan He.
I always wondered, if you went along to watch, you
(29:26):
must have seen him slightly below the camera line. So
I imagine a lot of kids, so you didn't see
you didn't see Thingy being operated below the camera line.
Speaker 9 (29:36):
Dad, I didn't ever want to get in there to him.
Speaker 11 (29:38):
I didn't want to get too close.
Speaker 8 (29:39):
To him, a kind of you know, didn't want to
want his hand up by.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Gave you a bit of a creepy vibe.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Okay, thanks very much for the cause of great lame
claim to fame, Dennis, what's your lame claim to fame?
Speaker 11 (29:51):
My lame claim to fame? As I met Jason Stafoy
in a pub in Auckland on me, oh.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
How did we go, Dennis? So this is interesting.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
This is the kids, that's what edition what I love it.
Speaker 11 (30:05):
I grew up watching What Now and I thought he
was one of the best guys on there, and then
I saw him at the pub, so I just absolutely
balls it up as well, which is the only thing
that he said to me was I've done other things?
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Did you go and get a funny far for you?
My favorite?
Speaker 11 (30:23):
And he's your favorite?
Speaker 5 (30:25):
You're the best man. I loved you.
Speaker 9 (30:26):
You're so good And he's like, yeah, yeah, I had
done other things.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
That's so brittle. Yeah he was. He was in Stereo Bus,
which was a band. But that was a great iteration,
wasn't it. Because there's Anthony Samuels, there was Jason Fatvoy
and I'm pretty sure Sheevarn rookie.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yeah, stage and props boy and props props boy.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Yeah, that was a strong iteration. Boy, yeah, props boy.
Great cricket props boy. He was my cricket team, very useful,
right arm fast bowler. Actually aggressive bowls into the wickeds
props was a good line and linked to it.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Just sure of a length, good stuff, Dennis Is, thanks
very much for the call. Yeah, firty far forward. Here's
my favorite.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yeah, all of them.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
I feel pretty Give us a call I hade hundred herdacky.
Someone's text her and said they went to school with
the son of the thingy puppets.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
Here.
Speaker 8 (31:13):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
That's a lane plan to fa Yeah, it certainly is.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Jerry and the Night the Hodarchy Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
It's slame claim to fame. Time give us a text
three four eight three, or you can give us a
call I eight hundred hedache. No claim to fame is
too lame. It's going to the phones. Williams on the line,
Morning William. Welcome to the show, Good William. What's your
lane claim to fame? Oh?
Speaker 11 (31:36):
Just second the day, maybe about twelve years ago. I
just wanted to pick up a bit of game Jo.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
And yeah, the Snuffy game.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
He said it was from the same batch he sold.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
So hold on with him. You smoked weed from the
same batch as the Snoop Dog.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Wait, apparently yeah I do. Yeah, did you wonder as
you were smoking in the paranoia set in and did
you think has he pulled the wall over my eyes
here a little bit?
Speaker 9 (32:10):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 11 (32:10):
I don't know how.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
I'll take for it.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah, I won't say.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Makes for a bit of ye and a great lame
claim to fame. Thanks very much for the call.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Williams Afread to get to touch eight hundred, eight hundred
and four to eight seven two five house this one.
My dad was a bit of a sports collector and
I wanted a new cricket bat, but he wouldn't buy
me one, so I borrowed a bat in his collection
that just happened to be one of Stephen Fleming signed
GM bats. During a match in high school, I scored
fifty but had masking tape over his signature so no
(32:41):
one knew and I put it back after the game.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Oh wow, okay, it's been touched. It's been bettered with
by Stephen Fleanner. How many runs he squed? I remember
that era of Stephen Fleming when he was playing with
a GM. In fact, I think he ended up finishing
his career sponsored by GM, but he started off sponsored
by Crooker Borough, so it would have been sort of
in the middle to ladder part. Well, those bats, when
you actually do get about from an actual player, Yeah,
(33:04):
they're so much better than ordinary bath Oh my god,
what is it?
Speaker 4 (33:07):
Is it the mona?
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Yeah, you feel the monna in it. But also they're lighter,
they pack up better. Yeah, mainly because when you play
at that level you don't really need a big bat.
Mostly because it's also fast. You just need to time
it handspeed at that Oh yeah, yeah, at that level.
That's what That's what I found. That's stick through three
fight through. I met the Hudson Cookie Beer in New
Plymouth in the late eighties. Wow, I wonder if you
(33:32):
said anything other than dumpy do.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
I don't know?
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Se We go to the phone lines Jason online one morning, Jason,
are you going?
Speaker 4 (33:39):
What's your lomee claim to fame?
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Morning? Guys.
Speaker 10 (33:42):
I was just dropping the kid off at school one
day when over speed but slowed down for a speed bump.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
As you do, as you do a little.
Speaker 10 (33:49):
Donk on me little centro at the time, and got
out of the car and it was the great X
All bet Captain Graham Murray mate.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Hold on, Jason, you were rear ended by former All
Black captain Graham Murray onto that.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Yeah, one of the best days in my life.
Speaker 10 (34:07):
I bought my hand.
Speaker 7 (34:08):
Are you the extcell break.
Speaker 9 (34:11):
Mate?
Speaker 10 (34:12):
You're right there already, goes. I was just looking down.
He did the head motion, you know, to go to
the phone or the thing or whatever's hand, and I
just looked up.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Boom you Was there any damage? Oh? Just a little
thing that he was.
Speaker 10 (34:24):
He scored a good try back in nineteen eighty two,
so im off. And you know we all just went
on our happy days to mate. Like the little CenTra.
Speaker 9 (34:31):
That all good, you know.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Oh, good on you, Jason. You let him go without
paying the excess just because he played some good games
in the Orbs. That's that's a great New Zealander, Jason.
Speaker 10 (34:39):
You've got to do it.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Good on you. And also that's a great car that
in the Sands CenTra bloody underrated car. They just go
and go and.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Go, go and go and go.
Speaker 10 (34:46):
Light my little Corolla on ninety three Corolla I just
bought the other day. But we won't get into that.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Goodson.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Thanks for the call, Jason.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Great lame claim to fame, Feel free to give us
a call one hundred My lame claim to fame. Is
that my missus served the Irish from the chase at
the art attacking visit visitor center.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
The attacking visitors Sad and Rara Tonga is there? I
imagine it's art attacky it a.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Tucky Yeah, which one's the one, the one that's got
the borlow tie, the curly hair.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
I think he might be. He's got a line one
where we've got Joe. Good morning, Joe. What's your lane
claim to fame?
Speaker 5 (35:25):
Good morning?
Speaker 6 (35:26):
I When I was in my early twenties, I worked
in London behind furniture store, and on the dark day
of the London bombings, I delivered a chairs to Sting's
residents and met Sting.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
Oh was it related to the bombing or just happen
to be the same day?
Speaker 5 (35:44):
No, just just happen to be the same day.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
He didn't bring you in and involve you on some
ten tric sex by any times? Joe.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
No, No, he was more involved in watching the watching
the sky news.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Yeah right, what was it a chair?
Speaker 5 (36:00):
Yeah? What kind of I worked for Vicount Linley and
he had a high end furniture store.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Oh yeah, who can forget Vicount Minley?
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Yeah, David Lindley, Yeah, yeah, Davi Kount Now was that
a was it a recliner or like an office cheer?
Speaker 4 (36:14):
What kind of cheer are you dealing with?
Speaker 6 (36:16):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (36:17):
Just a just a standard occasional cheer.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Okay, he's not going to run a lazy boys he sting. No,
you're not going to lock the rock and put the
feet up.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
No, No, I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Oh good stuff, Joe, thanks very much for the call.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Another text here from Sam off the back of the
one that we had just before I rear ended Billy
Bowden's dad.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
All right, Reverend Bowden, o'kay, don't feel great about it.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Interesting thing this here on the radio, Jerry.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
And the Naia the Hooducky Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Seven They breakfast time for your later sport headlines thanks
to export arch to the beer for here. The coaches
will not meet with English referee Matthew Carly ahead of
the first Test and the formatch spring Box All Black
Series starting at Allis Park on Sunday morning.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Alice, is he the reef that we had against Was
it the Stormers the first game that we played.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
I don't know, but he was one of the assistant
referees in that last game and he found himself as
he always does. Interfering. Yeah, he loves an interfere I
think he might be. He's been done some interfering in
the team. Oh, he's one of my least favorite refs.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Well, I do wonder so do you think he's Is
he one of these ones that wants to slow the
game down, review everything.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
He wants to make sure that he is reviewed at
the end of the game, and they have made sure
that he has got every single call exactly right. Yeah,
and he does not care about how the game goes.
He just wants to make sure that he is being
incredibly pedantic.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
It's do we need to fly a bunch of Wellingtonians
over there.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
To abuse the ref perhaps.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Because you know how they shut down their local competition
because there's too much referee abuse. We just get do
we need like the local Johnsonville PTA.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
It's a good question. Are you allowed to abuse a
professional riff? It's not giving up as time for nothing.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
I mean, evidently some of these referees they want to
be stars, they want to be celebrities, So I think
pay them more, get them to front press conferences afterwards,
where you're allowed to pick their brain about what they
thought went work. Because we deal it with the coaches,
we deal with the players, and when they screw things
up we hold their feet to the flame. For some reason,
we don't deal with the riffs.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
Why not do that?
Speaker 3 (38:28):
Then all of a sudden they've got three hundred thousand followers,
they're getting brand deals.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Oh that's quite good idea. Or maybe just the first
three rows of any home fixture, people who want to
abuse the riff, so they just stand there and just
lay into the refill, be able to hear the calls
coming from the crowd.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
So it's Auckland Nipbull fans, it's Wellington rugby fans.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
I mean, firstly, can I just say I do not
condone saying anything to refs who go along and do
it for free on Saturday Sport, and I'm completely against that. However,
professional reffs definitely Matthew Carley Fairboll got well.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Then to that end, do we at what age do
you stop as a parent abusing reefs when they're referring
your children's games? Do we send all of the players
at the front two rows. There's forty four players in
all blacks.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (39:11):
Eighty eight? Almost ninety parents sitting in the front row
abuse parents abusing the red.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Under New World Rugby rules, both must agree to get together,
otherwise neither can meet with the whistleblower alone. All Black
coach Dave Rennie says he's comfortable having voice concerns about
potential time wasting through other channel.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
I think Rennie's also I think one of his superpowers
is addressing the world as it is rather than how
he wants it to be. And he just knows there's
nothing you can do if they're going to slow the
game down. They're going to slow the game down. We'll
just deal with it now.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
They will slow it down. Oh, I don't worry about that.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
They will slow it.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
And they are allowed to do that. Dollar forty two
South Africa At the moment, Tab's got New Zealand at
two dollars eighty.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
Way too long. Warriors will be.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Out without Charles nicol Klokstar for the next two weeks
after he pleaded guilty to a hip drop tackle on
the Warriors. Sorry on the bronco Reee Walsh has guilty
plea for the Grade three charge means he should return
for the final regular season match against the Sea Eagles.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Good we're gonna need a turn of.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Stowers Smith and Jacob Laban have accepted one thousand dollars
fines for their Grade one charges of a kellless high tackle.
I wonder how they pay that. Yeah? Do they go online?
And I mean if they don't pay that, the Baykorp
turn up and send them a notice. Yeah, so they
are in laws one thousand dollar fines for kellless highackle
and dangerous contact. Perspectively, they are available for selection.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
This is the end of the point, end of the
season where you know, all season we've been talking about
how do we fit all these halves and taine versus chants,
who's going to be playing fullback? How do we fit
all these guys in the well that you've been You're
looking at it the wrong way. It's not a problem,
it's a it's a it's a solution because at this
end of the season we've got how many injuries, We've
(40:50):
now got suspensions and we've got that next man up mentality.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
You'll know this is this an unusually injured year.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Or is it always like this? It's always like this.
It's just such a brutal and long season.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Yeah, And former Australian opener Matthew Hayden speaking of brutal
as the latest to demand change to the national Test
cricket side after their lost two Bangladeshian Darwin. He wants
Matt Renshaw and Sam Constace recalled after number three minus
Laby Shane and opener Jake Weather All continued. Lean Trot's
in the nine look at Defeatlyn Trot's The second fixture
starts on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
Mackay, can we address some Matthew Hayden's new haircut.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Yes, he's got plenty here now, hasn't he.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
He He spent two summers on the coverage wearing cowboy
hats and then all of a sudden this year removed
the cowboy hat to reveal a gen Z broccoli haircut.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Yeah, luscious locks.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yeah, it's the kind of haircut that you would see
hogging the bench press at the local gym.
Speaker 4 (41:42):
There'll be seven of them just standing around doing nothing.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Taking selfies, taking selfies. Yeah that's right, chatting up girls
on snap.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Maybe whoever did the hairlines only got one haircut available today.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Broccoli shure up next time. Wilds joins us. I want
to talk to him about his new community which are
following him.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Jerry and Mni the hod Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
So the other day we were watching the Commonwealth Games
and there was our famous shot putter, Tom Walsh ended
up with a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games. Fantastic
effort from him. And we noticed something Mania and I
when we were watching, and that is a fashion trend
which seems to have emerged out of the shot put
community and it's now filtered its way into fashion areas
(42:30):
around the country. And that is shot pot cheek, which
is a baggy top, maybe a T shirt or maybe
a singlet and then a pair of bike shorts underneath. Yeah,
and joining us on the line now is a person
who's driving that shot pot cheek trend quite hard. It's
Tom Walsh. Good Morning, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 9 (42:49):
Good Morning follows it as usual on session week as well.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
So you see, this is the things people think that
we just slapped this show together. No, there's a lot
of thought that goes in to it. There's a lot
of time. Firstly, congratulations on the silver we're all very
very proud of you. But like Jerry said, the the
shot put chet, it's it's also the domain of the
millennial female. They will often wear a baggy T shirt
(43:15):
with the with the tight shorts. Where where does that
trend come from?
Speaker 9 (43:19):
Well, I think certainly, you know, fashion as a price,
and this price that we pay is that it frames
up when you've got a bit of a motor. It
frames the motor quite well. And you know, we got
good legs, so we're showing the legs off with those
nice tight shorts on too, you know. So that's you know,
it's it's fashion. You know.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
This is why it appealed so heavily to me, Tom,
because I'm I'm I've got a shot put I'm going
for the shot putters beilt.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
I don't quite have the arms.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
So I see some people go with the single that
other people go with the ship.
Speaker 9 (43:50):
Yeah. Look, we give the guys to go with the
T shirt a bit of sticks, you know, but self
conscious around the arms, the shoulders, you know, they don't
quite have it.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Yeah, And I think sometimes obviously with a T shirt,
that can prevent a little bit of side move. No
I'm not judging Tom, you know me, but I mean
I love a bit. I love a bit of side
move myself. But I was just thinking as well in
terms of New Zealand and his yo. Fashion. It's perfect,
isn't it? Because I think if we were a nation
(44:19):
and we look at ourselves, I think I think across
the board we are a nation of shot putters.
Speaker 9 (44:26):
No, I think we definitely are. We're built for it right,
and we also like a bit of fuit, so that's
never goes astrain community.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
YEA, Well, that's why we wanted to get in behind
this and make shot put sheep the fashion of the summer.
So I think Jerry and I at least will be
donning the tight shirts and the and the baggy shirts
and singlets going forward. But so you posted a you
post on social media the other day a potential new
modeling career for yourself and maybe post your shop a career.
(44:54):
You were just wearing a few just wearing some clothes
you might wear on a building site. And I went
to comment on that and say, look, I'm all in
on the modeling career. I would just rather see a
bit of shot put chic rather than work site chic.
When I got into the comments, I noticed there's a
particular type of individual, particular type of audience that you've
(45:16):
you've garnered on on social media.
Speaker 1 (45:18):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (45:18):
It's got something to do with James mcconey. Is it
his fault.
Speaker 9 (45:22):
Well, that's not directly James's fault, but sans a sans
to startles.
Speaker 5 (45:25):
Let's be clear with that one.
Speaker 9 (45:26):
And you know it's safe to say that in the
gay community. You know, myself and a lot of the
shot put boys have a lot of attention, you know,
we are beers in the gay community and people love that.
So we actually have a guy again, he's called Yogi Bear,
that's a handle on social media. I think he follows
us around to some meets in Europe and photographs us.
(45:47):
So it's a real thing.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
As part of the beer community. Is it important to
be running here? I mean here on the on the face,
here on the back, or do you not have to
have here to be part of the beer community.
Speaker 9 (46:01):
Well, I'm not sure if you've realized during me, but
there's three different types of beers in the gay community.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Right.
Speaker 9 (46:06):
There's there's pole this is well I've been well informed
here for I was there. There's polar bears, which are
just big, you know, just big guys, you know, big
fat guys. There's grizzly beers, which are big, hairy guys.
And this is what I got told while I'm pretty
sure I was getting hit on, they said to me, well,
you're the rarest of a lot.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Tom.
Speaker 9 (46:26):
I'm like, oh, this is nice. You're the mustly beer,
big musty guys. So there's three different types of beersre.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
Okay, Now this is totally news to me as well. Tom.
I would have thought the polar beer maybe a larger
blonde man.
Speaker 9 (46:40):
Well, look, I'm only just saying what I've been told.
Maybe we can start a new trend.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Yeah, okay, so polar bear, grizzly beer, mustly be. I'd
probably put myself in the grizzly beer.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Agree, Tom. So you're off at the moment, you're you're
you're heading to Europe for a meet.
Speaker 9 (46:58):
Yep, yep. Just a way to finish the Diamond League
circuit for last two or three weeks of the season.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Okay, So it's a it's a shot put event, not
a beer event.
Speaker 9 (47:06):
Well, it'd be maybe one or two beer events that
pop ups.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
I feel like they could run in conjunction with shop.
You could be beer by night, shot put it by day. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (47:18):
Well, there's there's been to talk about a yearly calendar.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
You pop out, it's you would print money with beers
of shot put Calida twenty twenty seven. I think we
could try and make that happen. Tom Welsh, thank you
so much for your time this morning. Much appreciated.
Speaker 9 (47:35):
Thank you boys.
Speaker 3 (47:35):

Speaker 1 (48:31):

to miss a thing featured on what nineteen ninety eight film,
and you knew that was ARMAG knew that was.
Speaker 4 (49:49):
It's just luck of the drawers sometimes, isn't that.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
It was just one of those ones. It was either
going to be Finland, it was going to be Sweden,
or it's going to be Norway. But you chose the
wrong one anyway, Jimma, thanks for calling, Thanks for listening
