Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Hierarchy, Breakfast Get Set for Winter with Bunning's Trade.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
The Archy Breakfast with Mania Stewart and former Hodachey Hidden
Now acc head.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Who is it? Wake pause? Who?
Speaker 4 (00:14):
I will never know?
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I couldn't do it.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
We'll never know? The hell are you? Yeah? That's glast
a new sound of disappointment. I'm constantly disappointed in myself
the night. It's a Friday before a long weekend, which
means most of the country have a teacher's only day,
so a lot of admin required for those out there
who are printing. So good luck to you. So that's
(00:36):
kids at home? Yeah, how many of yours are too?
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yeah, it's pretty punishing.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
You guys got one of those?
Speaker 5 (00:42):
No, unfortunately we don't actually have one of those going
on at the moment. One of my kids is coming
back from camp today. Maybe that's why they couldn't have a.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Two years today life hack though, Even if you don't
have a teacher's only day, just tell your place of
work that you do and you can just stay home.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
That's a great point.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
So it's up there with diarrhea. No one questions it's
only day.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
What jeez, I should have said that in this morning
teacher's only day. Yeah, so you don't have any kids?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Oh yeah, I reckon TD. You would have falled for it.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Don't you worry. Don't worry about what I've got or
what I don't have. All right, let's rap into it, fellas.
The black Caps playing this morning. Will give you an
update on that in just a few seconds. Plus. Should
tradees warm up like athletes?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Hell yeah? Usually the ones I've seen lately Jeremie.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
Wells and the nice suit, the Hodar you breakfast.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's thanks to Bunning's trade. Keep your jobs moving with
Bunning's trade. I'll tell you what's going on. It's absolute
confusion this morning when we came into the office because
the black Caps were on the TV. They're playing a
game of cricket they didn't do against Ireland. And then
Ireland were on fifty runs and it said they were
two hundred and fifty runs behind us.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, and I said, there's that to the follow on?
Speaker 7 (01:48):
Was that?
Speaker 6 (01:48):
What?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Didn't I understand that? But then I had a chat
to read. They'd been already been bold out, so they
were following on sin He's on overnight they are four
hundred and ninety eight declared a Cowboy blame down one
hundred and eighty six, not out. Dean Foxcroft on test
day boom out for ninety eight. Unfortunately, oh god, Century
(02:08):
Foxy and then Island capitulated. They were four down for
not a lot two weeks in the first over all
out for one hundred and seventy nine. They've followed on
and I've just wrapped up day two here there's sixty
five for two. Are there worse timings for sport then
something that starts at ten thirty at night and finishes
at the sixth in the.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Morning for not there's absolutely not, although, yeah, because you
wake up in the morning and you just see the results.
But once you've seen it, you don't want to go
and watch the replay.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, not less of one? Yeah, not less of one.
You know you can go back and Watshall Warriors after
once you know that one.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Why is it that Foxcroft ninety eight on debut. That's
an incredible score, two runs short of a ton.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
You'd be happy with that.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
It's good for the averages, but for some reason you're
gutted for them.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, absolutely, because I don't think he's going to get
another chance for a wee while doing Foxcroft.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Unfortunately get a run against England.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Because I've arrested quite a few players for the quite
a few bowlers. You've got the likes I mean Zach
was peck him above, Zach Folks and Nathan Smith, Dean
Foxcrofts and played one Test against you know, Ireland, you
don't because you've got Matt Henry.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
And the wedding and the wings and I think it's
like for like replacement would be Zippy from Rainbow. Yeah,
who must be rested for this game.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
And been arrested as being rested as well arrested arrested
well arrested.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, they're the ones you got to worry about it. Yeah,
those others. Was this good? Is this good prep for
this English series?
Speaker 7 (03:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Look, I mean out Ireland, I'd say that they'd probably
want to spend more time in the field bowling.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
That's what they were doing this one.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah, I've seen the look of the the way they
were all carrying on. I saw one of the fielders
I forget who just cut off a single.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
It was you know, it was a good bit of fielding,
wasn't amazing. They all crowded around them in between their
innings and they were all patting them on the back
and it looked like they were taking the purse. I've
seen this look before because I played in the second
eleven for Saint Givin's College and we sucked. And this
is what other teams look like when they were in
the field against us, frolicking, high fiving.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
They know they're going to win. There's no dramas there.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I look at anybotter year. If they get it over
in three days, they can have a couple of nights
out in Belfast. There's something. Most of the squad are
actually already in London preparing for the Lord's Test, which
kicks off next thursdayday, Thursday night, and I implore you
to tune in at least for the first over. The
sound of summer kicking off at Lords in England is
one of the best if you're a cricket fan. If
(04:32):
you're not a cricket fan, just stay out in crush
tins and do it.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Anyway, Yeah, Thursday night, you only got one night, one
day of work to get through. Anyway, Hurley's going to
head over there, He's said over the other's dad to
go on those.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
We should give him a call, Give him a call
while he's there, because it's a special occasion. If he
hasn't been there before, and you're a cricket fan haven't
been to Lords, that is a it's a spiritual, spiritual moment.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Can I flag something that will probably really only affect
the three people in this room and people are in
our industries.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
The Radio Awards are next Thursday as well. Oh yeah,
so you could go the Radio Awards.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Get horribly steamed, and then just say out all night
watching the cricket from lorwards.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
That's what I tend to do. I'm not going to
the after party because I couldn't leave anything else. I've
been waiting to have an hour for a beer at
a overpecked venie. Oh my god, I'll give you.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
That, and then wonder. So I'm going to hear this
grievance this morning on a Friday one. We were at
the Radio Awards a few years ago. I was going
to care about this, but I got two jugs. I
were pretty big jugs, pretty happy with that, me and
Joe Jury, and I said, I'll go and grab us
a table and then I'll take the jugs and you
guys come over, sweet ass.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
So I go through the crowd.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
These two big jugs couldn't go anywhere, you know, because
I got my hands full sit down at this table.
I was like, sweet boys going to come over here.
They got stuck in a yarn somewhere else. Then I
got cornered. But it was like a procession. It was
like American Idol. But every single contestant was the biggest
wounder that you've ever seen in your life. And I
was stuck there guarding these two jugs. And I was
(05:54):
there for like an hour and a half about Joe
hiding when he came over.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
So it's going to park up and watch the tests,
didn't they?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, that's much surrounded by trophies.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Obviously, Jerry and Mini the hold Ikey Breakfast saw.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
The story yesterday Fellas is that experts are saying tradees
would benefit from proper warm ups because they put a
huge strain on their muscles and joints every day, similar
to athletes. Experts are from the likes of Work Safe, Construction,
Health and Safety in z and the acc was it.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
You, No, it wasn't me. I'm not a massive afit
of this. I mean, look, it all depends, really, I
can't imagine tradees would be keen for a warm up
if it was run by Dave from Health and Safety. However,
if Adrian.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
From the OD with Adrian, if she rocked up.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
To the site in New Lululemont and said, right out
here we go. We're just going to spend a good
forty five minutes warming up, I think you'd get one
hundred percent attendance on year.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
We're't even going to shove up to the work.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah, even the contractor he's driving the digger, there's got
no physical exerciety. He tunes up.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
But the thing that what I can't unders I understand
the point of it, Like you're putting massive strain on
your body.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
But like, so okay, so.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
You shot up to the workshop in the morning, all
you're doing is having a coffee, having a yarn and
then heading out to wherever you're actually going. You're supposed
to work, warm up then and then go sit in
the car for half an hour.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Then you get out there you have to warm up again.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Like's interimittent, isn't it in terms of the physicality. It's
not a consistent all day this kind of thing. So
maybe Adrian haves to stick around all day.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
I'd follow you around they warm me up.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
I'm down with that.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Every time you come off the bench needs an Adrian
like Lebron James. So you've now doubled your work for
us because if everyone man, you need another Adrian.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
And I don't think many tradies would argue with that.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
No.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I mean bosses would, obviously, but I don't think people
on the tools would argue with the fact that Adrian
would shadow you all day.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Woman, you are no, but I don't.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
I also don't think like the worst injury I've had
on a job side is I did my back pulling
this giant metal, giant steel mesh across the floor. There
was a bolt that had been screwed into the floor
and then someone had cut it off, but it's still
stuck out from the ground and I didn't see it
and so caught on the thing and I just went
to pull. It didn't move, so I just yanked as
hard as I could. It didn't move my back. That's
(08:05):
like beauty. I don't think there's any amount of warming
up that would have, you know, unless it was warming
up my eyes so I could see that bolts sticking.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Out warm your brain, think out what your surroundings were like.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
But I remember working on building sites and just once
a month they would send the Health and Safety go out.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Just to skire the pass out of it.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Oh yeah, he come and tell you some harrowing story
about I was just telling you off he that.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
They're always quite popular, the Health and Safety. You expect,
Oh my god, but.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
It's like they'll come at you with like the most
traumatic story they possibly can to try and ski you straight.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Look, you're working in a halter.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
A few years ago a fellow over the head was
working and he fell down a whole Brosley. Oh yeah,
and the yeah lost league. He was down there for
so long they couldn't bloody find. They had to take
the leg off them and ended up doing away with himselves.
So look, just be careful out there.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
And you're like Jesus Christ, no practical advice either.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Just take care out there, no uncare it steel kills
and that's all that does.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
They's come around.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
There's another all the go.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Cool kids, we lids.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Maybe one was when I was plastering, this guy would
come around and pat me on the back. To Health
and Safety goes. It's bloody good to see with that
mask on mate, good to see you with the mask on.
You know my old man, he was a plaster for decades.
I couldn't walk to the mailbox at that double WMA
got him in the end.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
You could have just said, hey were your mask. I
would have been sweet. You didn't need to traumatize.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Please tell me you got back on your stilts and
finish the roofs.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Just on the stilts. These are going good on the stone.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
There's there's an after life for clown performance.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Dan's plastering plastering ceilings.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
Jerry and Midnight the hold Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Once again fell As. We are heading along to Chasing
the Fox this year. It's Friday, December eleventh at Royal
Auckland and Grange Golf Club. Right now you can book
Chasing the Fox corporate hospitality packages say Christmas party today,
don't leave it too late.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
You can bring your team, your clients and.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
You miss people have Chasing the Fox hosted by Ryan Fox.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
You may have heard of him.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Three hospitality tears designed for corporate groups. Just get your
boss onto this. Basically as the go here, you.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Could write it off. That's what we're saying. If you've
got a business, you can write it off. And what
would be ideal is if you can manage to partner
up with Lydia Co and then be called Chasing the
Fox and Co. That would be good. That's where we
need to go.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Is brilliant.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
I'm not sure we'll be them and I we commentated
last year of TV and SID. I'm not sure we'll
be back anything. No, I haven't heard anything and look
tunes out. TV and Z aren't keen on feedback. I
gave a one page feedback form to them and have
been ghosted for the last I think five to six months.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
It's a very thing.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah, it's a very key thing to ask for feedback
not wanting it at all. Yeah, hey, anybody get a
new feedback because I'm a massive victim of this when
people go I any feedback? Yeah, well we sort of.
We could have done bitter here here and here. How
do you and you.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Could have done bitter here here and here. Andy, We're like,
just go down, so listen. I mean happy to give
that up this year. I'd much rather be on the
other out of the fence for Chasing the Fox. It's
a much better time socially than it does to be
actually working.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Well, that's the hard part about commentating that is because
and no one will be sitting a tear for us.
But you go into that thing and it's quite long,
two three hour long event. When you come out, it
is like a zombie movie, you know what I mean,
because you've been sitting in there dead sober for you know,
three four hours, four or five hours. By the time
(11:26):
you got the pre show meetings and stuff. Now I
had sobered up. And then you come out and everyone
else is just having a rollic and good time because,
like I said, it's Friday, December eleventh, so we are
in peak Christmas do areas? Oh?
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Absolutely, the handbreaks off. Everyone's just cruising into the Christmas.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Any chance either of you are going to get approached
to be on Team Media this year, and what would
you do if you were approached?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
I can't imagine.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
So no, I think they've locked that into that team.
I think it'd be pretty hard to dislodge the three
that are in the Team Media. I mean, we could
start our own rogue team and just I mean, look,
it was so choic, get that six tea. I think
anyone could have stood up and teed off on that.
That's just about Yeah, that's that's that was the problem
with with the broadcasting.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, I did. I did enjoy last year. That the
year before when Jerry and Team Media won it Jerry
die Watch and Mark Richardson and man you would I
wouldn't shut up about it for a whole year, and
then Reagan couldn't do the next year and then they
were basically stone cold last surprisingly Oh okay, so yeah,
(12:33):
chasing the Fox dot codd En z one last Poe
on your on your feedback there. I imagine they would
have listened to our commentary and then they would have gone,
I'll feedback from that guy. He'll probably chuck that in.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
The book Jerry and Manaia Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Lainham and I A six thirty on your Friday morning.
It's time for your later sports headlines thanks to expert
to the beer for here.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Ireland sixty one for two. Following on on the second
date of their made Test match against New Zealand and Belfast,
ain't no where You'll love.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
They're saying it's their main it's not. Is it Ireland's
first ever Test?
Speaker 3 (13:07):
No no, no, no no no.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
I'll just go first against that, first.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Against US and over there in Belfast, but it's not
not going well for them. After day two. They in
New Zealander need eight more wickets to win this Test
match and they'll probably do that before lunchtime. On day three,
they were dismissed for one hundred and seventy nine in
their first innings after New Zealand declared four hundred and
ninety eight. Poor old Dean Foxcroft on debut out for
(13:32):
ninety eight. At one point they were thirty eight for six.
Ireland Super Rugby CEO Jack Measley has no issue mania
with the Hurricanes and Chiefs resting star players for the
rest of for the last round of regular seasons, saying
fans will agree that the competition's top two sides have
earned the right.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Well, this is the this is the thing. Why would
they have an issue with anything that affects fans. They
haven't in the past, in the last thirty years of
that competition, they've never worried about what the fans care about.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Sudden they are.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
But one of them, Well, no, he's just said he doesn't.
He said he said the fans will agree.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
No they won't.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
He's speaking on behalf of the fans and I are okay,
How would he know what the fans what?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
This competition is not curd about their fans for thirty years.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
But there's a Cracker game tonight. The ACC is live
coverage of the Crusaders versus the Canes tonight right here
on Radio Hodaki and on iHeartRadio, and the Chiefs versus
the Blues tomorrow night as well. In a huge upset.
I know you're hanging on to this mania, huge up
set in the second round at the French Tennis Open,
which is absolutely roasting top seed and tournament favorite Yarnick Cinner.
(14:36):
I think he's been unbeaten in thirty matches, is there right? Yeah,
has been beaten by world number fifty six Juan Manuel
sitn Dolor across five sets and searing Parisian.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
He does get hot over there, cued up. I've tried.
I've cued up twice to goup the Eiffel Tower. I
never got up there.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Too hot, too hot.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
One of the first time, it was like you're not
allowed to get into the queue if you don't have
a bottle of water on you, because they were just
sick of people passing out standing underneath the day fad
and then the next one that was just there were
well that, but then there were people just just families
would just walk past you, twenty deep in the queue
(15:14):
and just skip the que and then there's nothing you
can do against a family of twenty just pushing in
front of you. I'm not going to describe what country
they're from, and because it could have been any country. Yeah,
and I will bug of this.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah. Apparently it's so hot that during the third seat
Janick Sinners started to see Dublin was dizzy, tried to recover,
and the third got beaten by the fifth. He was guessed,
can I say.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
About the tennis players? I feel like I'm on a
real negative tip this morning. Is there any sport that's
softer of the tennis players? How often do they withdraw
with some sort of undiagnosable issue.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Have you seen them?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
They throw themselves around there? Yeah, but like and also
it's mentally you're on your It's it's like golf. It's
one of those there's no one else to blame. At
least in rugby and cricket. You can share the blame,
you can share the loss. You can say, well, I
may have dropped that catch, but you both nineteen whites
like you can. But in golf and tennis ADP, it's.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
You and I have many In a casual watch someone
just storm off the golf course.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Getting the carr and go so I can see what.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
Jerry and Min the Hohtiarchy breakfast.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Algorithm terrorism, What exactly is it?
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Me and I explain, I'll explain it.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
It is when somebody's sending you stuff that because you
then watch the video that they've sent you because it's
your mate, ye you kind of there's a level of
trust there. You end up watching the entire video and
then the algorithm goes, oh you like that there? Oh, oh,
do you want to watch five million frog videos? I've
got a mate who was sending my misses a bunch
(16:44):
of frog videos. She's like, I don't like frogs, like
I don't work with frogs. I just I have never
shown the many indications that I like frogs for some reason.
He's just like, oh, do you like this frog videos?
Speaker 7 (16:54):
No?
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah, it comes in waves for me. For a while there,
I was getting ai people of sized doing stuff they
shouldn't be doing, like polo parkour. One particular one where
a fishing boat is chased by what looks like a
hole lot of dolphins, and it turns out to be
people of size chasing the boat, and then it quickly
switched into small people beating the crap out of each other,
(17:15):
either in public or in a ring. So and basically
this is born from people like yourself sending me stuff
saying check this out, and then me watching it like
a gullible person that I am, and then all of
a sudden my feed is full of that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Yeah. So, well, for whatever reason, I'm still in the ACC.
There's like a group chat on Instagram from when I
worked there full time, and so I'm still in there.
So I'm like, oh, well, buggy is you can just
cop all these motivational I send through. I send through
like motivational speakers, or you need to be the man.
You gotta show that warrior culture just a little bit
(17:51):
of Well look, I just feel like, certainly from from Afar,
I can see the standard slipping over there, and I'm
just like, you know, you guys need a bit of
you guys need a bit of motivation.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Yeah, I mean it's if you don't like someone or
you haven't seen someone, I'll send them some absolute slop
and watch their algorithm change and all of a sudden,
Instagram and your social media becomes a different experiences. You
watch people of size do a triple pike into a hitstand. Yeah,
off a ten minute diving board.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
The other one I've been sending a lot on into.
There's a guy on Instagram who does a series on
super rugby teams and goes through the entire roster and
decides whether if they were in a member of the
Rainbow community, whether they'd be a top or a bottom. Yeah,
and he goes through every single one of them. Is
just like this guy top, this guy bottom by power Bottom, Yes,
blah blah blah blah blah, thanks tav.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
I think Top, Benny, Tummy a fourner surely out there.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Yeah, And so I just fire those ones into the
thing just to make sure that the algorithm gets a
good tune up. But then every now and then, because
the other one that gets sent through is like blind
cricket highlights.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Ah yes, yeah, yeah, kind of that kind of disabled
cricket Highlights, which is mainly out of India because they
would beat on anything and there's some shocking umpire decisions
and that visually impaired cricket going on, which is sad
because theres the umpire. That's that's what I thought. Either
the umpires are blind or they're just taking the purse
because no one's arguing with them because they can't see
(19:12):
whether they were right in front. And then the umpire
still puts his finger up. Is that for the television
coverage or the players question?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Without warning? Do they have l b w's and blind?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Cristy, I've seen absolute howl. I got sent to me
absolute how that was going miles down lead side. It
was so funny, and the umpire fired them and everyone celebrated,
but no one was arguing with the rym. The batsman
didn't go. The batsman couldn't review. Well, what are you
going to do?
Speaker 1 (19:39):
You're gonna look at your captain on the sideline, can't look.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
At your kind of your partner?
Speaker 4 (19:45):
How do they all right?
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Look that?
Speaker 4 (19:46):
This is not what we came in here to discuss.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Is blind?
Speaker 3 (19:49):
This is what this is what terrorism does. This is
what it does.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
And then it shapes your you know, it changes your algorithm,
which changes your thoughts on things. And so every now
and then I like to send a little palate clean
which I sent through into the group chat last night.
It's a photo of a cat with a cigarette and
a beer sitting next to a beautiful vista of a river,
and it said no substance I ever used was abused.
It was loved. Jerry and Mania joined the conflay the
Hodaki Breakfast discussion group on Facebook for.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
More The Hodachy Breakfast with Manaia Stewart and former Hodache
hidden our acc head.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Jay and in the studio this morning for your Friday morning.
It's just gone seven oh four. Great to have you
with us.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Oh great to be here and I on a Friday.
And God bless godspeed to anyone out there who's got
kids and been punished with a teacher's only day to day,
which conveniently is always on a long holiday. Isn't noticed there?
Speaker 1 (20:43):
But don't the teachers still have to go into school?
The teacher's only only the teachers going to school.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah, and name only and name only.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
Don't tell me the tooth series anyway.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Your chance one of ten thousand dollars Street Dog electric
motorbike and join our gang. The first bike is going
to be given away by the Big Show this very afternoon.
To make sure that you're listening to them, this afternoon.
If you're in the drawer, it's academic. As Jack potted
up to two hundred dollars worth of Bunnings about is
up four grabs and that's a bit about seven forty
to make sure that you stick with us until then. Plus,
(21:18):
I want to go over this Tim Payne situation. I've
seen that half night.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah, it is blown up.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
He has almost a million followers on Instagram overnight.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
It's happened.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
That's the all Whites player.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Not to be convinced with the Australian cricketer. Different guys, that's.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
A deck pack that I've don't put Simpagne the cricketer.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
The cricketer, Yeah, the cricketer.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
The cricketer. Up next.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
What's going on with this bloody Mardy cap?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Debarkle, Jerry and Mini the hold ikey breakfast, Like.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
You say, something's brought to my attention by you, and
it is I don't even know where I stand on it.
It's got something to do with Auckland grammar. So Mardy Cap,
this is.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
A rowing of the most wounding rowing story you'll ever
come across.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Now there's some wounding rowing story, yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Yeah, And there's a secial type of person who rowse.
It takes a lot of commitment and discipline and to
get into rowing you get up dangerously early anyway, so
in silence on the boat. But Marty Cupp is the
big time of year four rowers. It is the Mardy
Graft for rowing, and they go down to twice all
one year. Then they come up and they go to Cambridge.
(22:23):
The next year they go to Carpedo. So they flip
flop and it's a big occasion. Hundreds of schools come
up and they all camp and then at the end
of it all the teenagers get drunk and have sex
and stuff. And Auckland Grammar have said that they were
cheated out of the Marty Cup in nineteen eighty eight
ju due to the fact that all of the schools
(22:46):
had to row with heavy wooden ohs and one school,
Christ College from christ Church were allowed to use new
carbon fiber oars in nineteen eighty eight. Yes, and they
wouldn't let any other in the only school they're allowed
to have.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
And five I was why has this come up now
that's thirty eight years ago.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
There is a bunch of dudes in their mid fifties
who've decided that this is unjust and they would like
it overturned. And they have gone to New Zealand rowing twice.
In New Zealand rowing, you'd imagine the board meeting New Zealand.
What counts off?
Speaker 1 (23:18):
You want what?
Speaker 3 (23:19):
Auckland Grammar want nothing to do with it. So this
is just a bunch of school themselves. Yep, there's a
bunch of mid fifties wounders who are holding on to
I mean that this is probably where they peaked. Let's
be honest. They peaked physically and they probably peaked mentally
back then at seventeen eighteen at Marty Cup down in Twicel.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Can I say if they've gone up against Christ College,
is Auckland Grammar quite a Houghty Toyty Jason Houghty School.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Grammar is a quite a prestigious school, but it's a
public school. It is Christ College is definitely not a
public school. It is one of the bigest, most expensive
private schools in New Zealand. So they want this rescinded,
they've said, and they've they have used the Health and
Safety Act now and they have referred to the Health
and Safety Act because they have claimed it's included ongoing
(24:01):
anxiety harm that could flow from unfair racing and adequateate
protest regime.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Now, wow, this I invoke for health and safety clause.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Yes, and I'm trying to think about who actually cares. Now,
I thought to myself, I don't care. But what I
will care is if you get all these old roosters
sticking back in those original boats, the original boats from
nineteen eighty eight, so they can stick their fat asses
and these tiny, skinny little skiffs. Yep, that's not my problem.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
And but you both get the carbon fiber awards correct
and settle it like men.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
And if one has passed unfortunately too bad, you row
with seven.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yeah, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
And if your cocks has blown out to one hundred
and forty k gen, not my problem, Not my problem.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
It's got to be one of the longest running grudges
that I've ever heard of. For thirty eight years that
they've been binding their time to take this thing to
the human rights tribunal.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
And they also they're making it quite public. This is
not a brudge in which you know, you go to
the pub and arm wrestle over it and we'll have
a boat race.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah, you must have. You've held some pretty long running grudges.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Lane and I've got some. I've got some.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
I've got someone in the industry I want to I
want to pull out the radio industry. Some people you
think are the nicest people you can come across.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
All Right, John and Being under the bus up next
on the Hidaky Breakfast and Megan Jurry in the night
the Darchy Breakfast just before we're talking about the Marty
Cup from nineteen eighty eight.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Yeah. I believe that there's a grudge big held by
Auckland Grammar to christ College. They want it to annul
due to the fact that they believe that christ College
had none for advantage with your carb and fire but oors,
no one cares.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
But I've always thought that sailing and rowing are similar
in this vein, and that more often than not they're
settled in the courtroom, not on the actual water.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Yeah. Well that's why that's to just get out there
on the skips and do it.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
It's a very litigious sport, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Yeah, But what a grudge, What a grudge to be held,
and to bring it up eighty eight years later and
go right, you know what we're going to do? Yeah,
over a couple of beers. We're going to take.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
This so the way.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Let's take this all the way.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Did they run this past their wives?
Speaker 6 (25:58):
No?
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I don't think they know. I don't think they would
have because I imagined the most partners would have gone,
this is.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
A good idea.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
You're going to humiliate yourself.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Is this a good use of your time? When you've
got your three kids here that you abandoned children, you're
going to spend all the time writing this, Yeah, a
ten page document to New Zealand rowing you know what
it is.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
You've just pointed something out there to me. I think
what's happened here is so so they feel like they
were doude it because of the carbon fiber oars, because
it can't have been that. They just weren't as fast
as that other team. And then they've poured all of
that energy into retribution via their children. I reckon they
would have punished their children. Now they're owned to the
empty nest phase and they're like they never got that validation.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
They were looking for, right, So they've got too much time.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
A so now we go to the courtroom.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Well I just go to the lake. Go to the lake.
Character Calipedo let's do it. Let's do it Christ College,
the Auckland grab. I think it's the Christ College. Guys
are like, nah, what's what about? Then they do it
on their own. I'm sure they've got a time that
Christ College did it in a nineteen eighty eight and
try and beat it at fifty.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Eight years old. Ye. I don't know how they're going
to go. But you know you you were saying you
you've held many a grudge you John and Bean can't
go them.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Yeah. Look, I hold a few grudges, but I think
everyone holds a little bit of a grudge, But mainly
it revolves around work grudges. I imagine getting kind of
rejected in your first job, or getting treated badly in
your first.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Job, like, for example, Ruder who beat you for the
best New Broadcaster of the Year back in the day
Bell Craws.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, see, you don't forget that stuff.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
No you don't. That's a that's a humilia.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
But I've always said wrote of that awards an absolute
crock mate.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
So don't thanks man. I think it was taking from
my I'm surprised.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
I'm surprised you don't hold a gudge against me and
I for laying you off well first time, first time.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Don't worry about that.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Come along while I'm back christ College and look AROUNDA
can take something from this, you know, you can move
on from these kind of things.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
So you can work together.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
But yeah, my, I think the biggest gradual I've got
that I've held on for such a long time. And
this will shock a lot of people, mainly people from Wellington.
And he's a well known personality in Wellington, works for
the Breeze down there. You're sure I'll go to freaking
down there in Wellington, dangerously boring station and he does
the breakfast show there. Let's call him Steve or Jolie. Anyway,
(28:21):
I did my internship down there and it was a
survey and it was a survey party and it was
and I remember we're went to a tippin Yaki restaurant
for the survey party. Was I mean it was good.
I was a young buck. I thought this is all good.
And he proceeded to yell at me to go get
himdrinks because I was the in tune. He goes, you're
the buddy into and do what you told and I
(28:42):
was like, damn, oh okay, I'm going to remember this, Steve,
and I didn't get Hi drinks, by the way, I
just glad at him and it's like, okay, this is
how you want to play it. You're dangerously boring old man.
And he's still there. It's still to this very dark.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Well, so he wins, but I said, did did you?
Did you have a secrettribution on him?
Speaker 4 (29:01):
In any way?
Speaker 3 (29:02):
I will, I will one day. There's a couple of
other people I sought repribution and the retribution in the
radio industry who are no longer working in the redio.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
And well and some of them that made their way back.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yeah, he bounced back. I don't know how you did it.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
You like it?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Yeah, you were like a lizard. I chucked Rudy.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
You've got a long hell grudge.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Yeah, mine, I reckon. Mind's approaching forty years now. Beckon
Primary school, Cambridge Primary.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
School, headed for It's bullying school, is it?
Speaker 5 (29:30):
I was okay when I was there, But I had
a guy. I had a friend called Gavin. I won't
I won't give a last name, and gns no Cambridge.
This is back a Cambridge and he asked if he
could borrow my Chewbaccer Star Wars Action figure over the
school holidays. Yeah, and then Gavin and his family moved
out of town and never got chew Baker back.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Oh my god, really took it with him.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
And one day at a previous radio station that I
used to work at, Devin with the same last name,
and I was like, oh hey, he wrung up one.
I said, did you used to go to Cambridge Primary School?
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (30:02):
I did, And I asked him about the tue bucket.
He didn't remember it. Funny, thanks Gavin.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Okay, that is a that's a dangerously shit grudge.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
Jerry and the hot Key Breakfast Tim Payne.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
I'm looking at his Instagram page this morning.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
He is on.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
He now has nine hundred and twelve thousand followers on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Now, this is Timpayne, the All Whites Defender. He's over
in the States at the moment for the FIFA World Cup.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
Yes, this is an incredible story. So an Argentine Argentine
influencer known as al Scaso, which I think is a
Weezer song new Music, has turned All Whites Defender Tim
Payne into an unlikely cult hero. Ahead of the FIFA
World Cup, al Scorio said he wanted to make the
least known footballer at the tournament, famous.
Speaker 7 (30:59):
Tim Pin your way to get that?
Speaker 1 (31:03):
And Sola, when did we start playing bad bunny on
the steat?
Speaker 3 (31:08):
So, so, what he's done here is he's decided this influencer,
obviously we've got a massive following in Argentina, He's decided
to peck one random footballer in the FIFA World Cup
to make famous and he has chosen our very own
Tim Paint.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
So he's gone through all of the squads for all
of the different teams and found Jesus is fine. So yeah,
he's found Tim Payne had the lowest following, which is
four thy seven hundred followers, and then overnight he's now
just closing in on a million.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
The interesting part about this is al Scazo himself has
four hundred and eighty one thousand followers. He's got half
as many because I would have thought that he would
have had ten million, and one million of them would
have gone to follow Tim Payne.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
This is going to be one of those global viral things.
I think everyone's going to jump on board because I've
just seen other influencers now post Scazo's post about making
him famous. So it's going to it's this is this
is just so twenty twenty six, it's going to snowball
and I think Tim Payne by the end of it
is going to I reckon. I'm picking probably five six
million followers. I think it's I think it's going to
(32:14):
keep on snowballing and he's going to be the biggest
most famous player at the FIFA World Cup and put
some paints in the going. I didn't ask for this.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah, well, particularly if he has a Heller. I'm looking
at his Instagram page now. The last three posts were
shared from whatever team he was playing for. You know,
they put a post up and he collabed. The last
post he put up himself thirty two weeks ago. Not
a big Instagram guy.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
I think he's going to be, though I don't know
that he loves it.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Well, I've got experience with this because remember when I
fired up Operation Gravy Train, where I was trying to
increase the Instagram following to try and get some free stuff.
Evidently I was going to bucking up the wrong tree.
I should have gone tow our Scorio here, but I
went to Jeremy Wells.
Speaker 6 (32:54):
No.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
He handed me out of poultry two hundred followers.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
But did it? Paxa SAIDY get four hundred as.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Jim Cawthornet one hundred and fifty. But I but I
know exactly how Tim Paine must be feeling right now
because I then had analysis paralysis.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
I was like, what do I post?
Speaker 1 (33:12):
I felt like there were two hundred people sitting in
a room waiting for me to post something.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
I don't know what you guys want. I don't know
what you guys want?
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Is it this?
Speaker 6 (33:18):
So?
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Now?
Speaker 4 (33:19):
What what do you do? If you're Tim Payne? What's
your first post?
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Because he hasn't been on it, he hasn't taken to
his Instagram.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
He imagine since this happened here began a lot of
grief internally in that team. Because that squad's currently in
camp before the fIF World Cup. They've got to warm
up against England coming up this weekend.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Some younger players named in the squad, they're hey, can
you check me up on your Instagram story?
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Man, I reckon just toss it to one of the
younger players and gave do your worst, do your worst.
I've now got a million followers. Do your worst. See
what happens. But in comparison Chris Wood, you'd have to
say probably New Zealand's one of the New Zones's most
successful footballers of all time. Yep, I'm going to put
him well ahead of Winton Rufer because Winton's a bad
man and All Whit's keeping Chris Wood. He only has
one hundred and sixty two thousand follows right, so he
(34:01):
you know, he is a Premier League striker, had one
of the greatest seasons ever last year and he's only
got one hundred and sixty two and Tim Payn is
coming absolutely crapped on him.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
This is ridiculed that Daniels Tickson quickly by a pain
jersey before the prices Jacko.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
This will be great. This FIFA wheel Cup you watch
is going to be pain fever.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
Jerry and Mini the hold Ikey Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
We've been talking about Tim Payne, the All Whites defender
who has gone viral overnight. He's got himself almost a million,
He's closing in on a million followers on.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
I think this is going to be the story of
FIFA wiel Cup. I think everyone. I think this is
going to be one of those weird and normally trends
that's going to take off. People are calling it the pandemic.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Yeah, I love the pandemics good.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah, the Tim Mania, Timpania, Timpania, the pain train logan pain.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, we're sort of wandering into Jared Haynes here through.
At this point, the pandemic is pretty clean. I think
that's going to go pretty well. Plus every news out
that's covering us, and this is the biggest sporting event
in the world. When they come up against New Zealand
and they frantically google for New Zealand all whites facts,
that's the first thing that's going to come up. But
have you heard about the Tim Bain story?
Speaker 3 (35:10):
And everyone looks for a bit of color when it
comes to these tournaments, something that's a bit different, that's
not just a NAE football chat, and.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
This is that's yeah exactly. I'm big on the pandemic,
So you really are you? Yeah, I'll claim that your
your patient's era of the pain diemmic.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Flame claimed to pain.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Mark sticks through because I said I was a little bit.
I've had similar success in the same vein as Tim Paige.
Jeremy Wales posted me to his fifty thousand mainly bots
and then Boomer mums who want to know where Hillary
is whenever they meet him.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Quite a lot of thoughts on there as well, bots
and thoughts.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
That's sort of his approach to social media. And one
hundred and fifty of them followed me when he posted
me onto his Instagram story. Fifty followed Jim Cawthorne and
another hundred followed Paxasati, ben Herey got one on you
and Mark's and so when that happened to me, I
was like, I don't know what to post now because
I just I generally don't post anything or just meet
(36:02):
crouching in front of things in South Canterbury and that's
about it.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
That was a good run of you crouching. Yeah you
need to Yeah, I need to stretch. What you probably
need to do is just crop that and you need
to drop yourself in front of you anything.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Yeah, you've just come up with the next post. But
Mark's texts through he said, yoppers is always a solid
post for Tim, because that's what I posted after all
those you follows, man, I had six with.
Speaker 6 (36:26):
Jerry and Mini. The hold Ikey breakfast.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Success is what I meant to say.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
I don't think it was. I think you just need
to read those texts before you actually read them out,
pre read, pre read, call out.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
If you want to play it's academic, We've got a
two hundred dollars Bunnings voucher up for grabs, and you'll
get your school's name etched into the waunted It's academic
roll of Honor alongside these esteemed establishments to get a
(37:02):
Colt Field picture.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
So do you have to get five out of five
or just three?
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Three out of five?
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Three out of five?
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Okay, we go to the lines where we fine, Harry,
did you hear your school's name and the it's academic
role of honor?
Speaker 3 (37:15):
I didn't, actually, but I did hear it earlier in
the broadcast O years.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
What school does the most christ Hitch question of all time? School?
Did you go to Christ College?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
When was your last year at Christ College? My last
year was okay, so you're well out of the bitterness
of nineteen eighty eight.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I am out of it. Do they talk about it
in the halls and on the on the fields of
Christ College?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Not so much. I haven't heard it, actually heard it?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
And grammar we're doping anyway. It's good counter allegation, brilliant,
all right, you understand how this works? Five questions? Is
going to get three right in the allotted time and
you win yourself a two hundred dollars. Buddings about George
would go good on a long weekend, Harry. Are you
ready to play?
Speaker 7 (37:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Ready to go?
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Let's go do it radio Harry? In which police song
does thing say sending out an SOS thirty one times?
Speaker 7 (38:08):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Every breath you take? Who was run out? Going for
the run? That would have won New Zealand the World
Cup in twenty nineteen Martin Gaptel? Who was what was
the name of the pub commonly featured in the Simpsons
mos which current Crusaders and all Black winger has the
most tries in super rugby history.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
He's got it, He's done it. Oh, I've done it?
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Easy? Is that? I'll ask you the last one? Just
for ships and giggles. What was the name of Michael
knights Car and the TV series Night Rider?
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Oh, I'm gonna have to pass from that one.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
It was Kat And also the police song where he
says sending out in sos thirty one times as message
in a bottle, great drinking game.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Congratulations, Harry, two hundred dollar Bunning's vocually come in your
way and christ College going on to the its academic
role of honor. We'll have to give Augland grammar on.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Is that thank you? Thank you having I want to
do a multi bit tonight a few Crusaders, make sure
you absolutely cheers Harry on.
Speaker 7 (39:09):
The Hurdy Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Coming up on the Hidarchy Breakfast. That's a big hour
of radio acc hre G Lane joins us to talk
about the week of sport.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Yeah, I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Plus we've got a sec hit G Lane on to
tell you how you could be going to the n
r L Grand Final, the Beer Garden Tour to Sydney.
Plus coming up next to Friday, Top five Bugger, Let's
go Top five Lanes on the Hidaking Breakfast.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
Jerry and Midnight The Hiarchy Breakfast.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
The Archy Breakfast with Manaia Stewart and former Hoche.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Hidden a CC radio is all about the tension and
release Lane. You'll learn that as we as we continue
on this journey.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Laying with us for today, Yeah, hey, I gotta I
have to address something man I obviously you know it
is coming into a long weekend. Is the Friday before
long winon a feeling than a friday before a long weekend.
But it is a time where quite a number of
teacher only days get taken as well. And listen, I'm
gonna yeah, upset a few people, Okay, you what by
(40:12):
I'm kind of voicing my annoyance at it because as
a father of three, with three different schools and three
different schedules of a teacher only days, it's a bit
of a juggle.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
And you allege that on teachers only days, the teachers
aren't actually going in school.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
I did.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
In fact, you laughed at me for suggesting it.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
But look that I know they do. They go on
to learn new curriculums, in the new systems and processes.
They work very hard, and look pay them ten times
because if they have to look after my kids five
days a week for many times, they give them as
much money as they need.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
Is this after the heat you've been coppying on the
text machine lately?
Speaker 3 (40:43):
All I know is we just talked to a teacher
earlier and he said, I don't go to work on
teacher He was the music teacher from from Yeah and
different the.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Teacher's only day and he said, no, I'm going in.
There's two sides to it. But look, I know you
do a great job. I mean nothing.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
Admiration for people who can look after my kids five
days a week.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
I look, I get ernest for about fifteen seconds here.
Why are we taxing teachers? They're paid by the government
and then the government's taxing themselves and whatever they want.
Do you say we can't afford to pay them anymore,
We'll stop texting.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Them from the bad ones.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
And that's why I'm asking for your vote in the
upcoming election coming up. Acc here g Lane joins us
to talk about the weekend of sport, as he does
every week. Plus acc here g Lane is here to
tell you how you could be hitting to the Grand
Final of the NRL up next. It is Friday, so
we going Friday Top fives and I can't be bugging
thinking of anything else. So Friday Top five lanes.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Get two Lane focused in my life in Hearts.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Fine Kix through Julane Maxwell, Hey, keep him on, keep
it above board, guys.
Speaker 6 (41:44):
Jerry and Midnight, the Hotarchy, Breakfast, you.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Don't think I'll do it? Do it aight? Ol Eight's
and Heartbreak on Radio Hodaki for your Friday morning. Thanks
to Bunning's Trade. Get set for winter with a new
winter work with from Bunning's Trade. It's in the past
we have done things like top five blazing spots, top
five positions, dogs, bushes, mums, magics and jerries. It's a
(42:12):
stunning innovation in radio lane. You've worked in radio for
many a year, you would have never heard of anything
like that.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Now mind blowing. I mean, next minute you'll be doing
like some sort of sound secret, like.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
An unknown noise. Yeah, and they've done that.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Brother, this week, in honor of you sitting across the
desk from me, we're going top five lanes on three four,
eight three or oh eight hundred hardak. Your phone lines
are always open. We'd love to hear from you on
Friday morning.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Can I veto Julaane Maxwell just for the start? Just
from the start? I mean, that's not a great lane,
is it. It's not a top five lane. That's a
lane kind.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
Of it's a it's a it's actually a G lane.
If we're gonna be pedantic, fine, you want to Vito
Julaane Maxwell? Sure? Yeah, tests coming through thick and fast
aka the fast lane. Checked that in the top five.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
Yeah, it's a contender.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
What about this one here Drury Lane where I believe
the gingerbread man loves Now. I don't want to nickel
and die that text because I appreciate the message, but
I believe the muffin man is the one that lives
on Drury Lane, although I'm not sure. Do you know
the muffin man, ah, the one that lives on Drury Lane? Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (43:20):
What about changing lanes without indicating both in the bedroom
and on road.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Now, now that has something to do with the nights
can Steel story. That was preparation for switching lan. Yeah,
I was heavily indicating, you're indicating to you.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
Ge Lane had a and it's not good, this is
not this is and switching lanes and he just wanted
to know.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
What he was about to cut someone else through, so
he decided to have a gonnay dry runners very much
not try. Okay, I got it.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
So it was a soapy run.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
It was a soapy run.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Nay, yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
What about park Lane and Monopoly?
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Yep, yep, take that is that one of the expensive ones,
part is one of the it's one of the dark
blue I've never finished a game of Monopoly.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
You needed to play monopoly deal. This is the card game.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
It's over much. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
Passing lane, yeah, bus lane also in there too.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
What about public taxpayer funded bike lane? Will you put
that in your top five?
Speaker 3 (44:18):
Absolutely? Or stay in your iffing lane? I like that.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Keep the ticks coming through three, four, A through. Give
us a call eight hundred Haidak, you would love to
hear from you this morning's top five, Top five the
lanes I'm putting changing lanes with that indicating in it.
Speaker 6 (44:38):
Jerry and Mini the hod Achy breakfast.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
We're in the middle of another and today we're going
top five lanes in honor of you. Let's go straight
to the phone line. Someone's calling through. Good morning Hadak.
You here are we talking to? Good morning? Shnade. Have
you got a lane you'd like to throw on the
top five lanes? The only thing I could think of
(45:03):
was a bowling lane. Oh yeah yeah that one big
fan of the bowling lane was the last time you
went bowling Shade put them I probably like, excuse you,
I'm sorry years ago to the honor. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
Yeah, saying it's a dying is a dying. You go
because you have to hire the shoes and it's fullipped
someone else's toe jam and youth and you look like
you look like a clown.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Get a uka all right, thank you very much for
the call. Snade, you can always gives a eight hundred
hod here eight hundred forty eight seven two five. There's
always people coming through with their own top fives straight
off the Vaughn has got Penny Lane, Yes, Lane Way, Yep,
Life in the fast Lane.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
Gulane Maxwell Again, we're not We're not excepting Gulai. Who
are we though? To fix the vote? That's a great point.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
We've got to reflect the voting.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Here, Number five, Grotlane, term sit it's a bowling l
u absolute marpt Hang on, Tim, come on Penny Lane.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
If g Lane makes the top five, is that a
lane claim to fame? That's from Mark from the Nack.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Yeah. Magnolia Lane, Augusta and Augusta Lover's Lane, Memory Lane, Yes,
the late great Lane, Stay Lane, Stay.
Speaker 5 (46:18):
Alison Chains, he's the guy that unfortunately passed away in
his own felt at home.
Speaker 3 (46:22):
Well that's why I don't know who is to the
heart Alison Chains.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Okay, Well, how do you feel about lowest Lane?
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Got a lot of time for Lowess.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
The only one who could slay Superman rights is text
Yeah Lane, Stay Lane, Staily, rop Lover's Lane, Vulcan Lane,
self service lane, big fan of the self.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
Se someone here's here's the overtaking lane and Dome Valley,
which is a very useful lane.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
The Dome Valley passing lanes, Yeah withs Dome Valley.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
Dome Valley is north of Auckland. It's not otherwise known
as Death Valley because you basically go on a motorway
and then you go through the windiest peace stretch of road.
You normally stuck behind a truck and then when you
hit that passing lane, you hit the accelerator, you tend
to lose control on the seventy kilomb corner and hence
non Death Valley.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Swapping lanes, the fast lane, another one for the self
service Griggs a big fan of comp laine, a fat
lane of Coke.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Lane, it's doing a lane, Charles Laney Wilson.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
Or one's just come through. That's caught my attagent. Candy Lane.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Loomed large over the two thousands. Lame claim to Fame.
Ben Hurley's mum used to be in my tea shirt
to a co college that gay. Can we just stay
on task here three four eight three oh eight hundred Hardaki,
give us your best top five lanes. We're going to
collect your votes during Allison shanees and coming up next
Top five.
Speaker 6 (47:46):
Lanes, Jerry and Midnight the Hodarchy Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
Currently embroilederm year to another and today in honor of
g Lane joining us today and yesterday, and we are
doing top five lanes. A bunch of texts coming through
on three four eight three This one here, Top five
worst lanes. The first time g Lane cursed the black Caps.
The second time g Lane cursed the black Caps, the
(48:10):
third time g Lane cursed the black Caps before the
hold on, I'm not done. The fourth time g Lane
curves the black Caps. For the fifth time, G Lane
cursed the black Cat. Okay, what about this one here?
Tits lane?
Speaker 3 (48:21):
Oh so that is a's that's a deep cut that one, Yes,
that's a deep cat.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
On the face of it, it seems obscene, but there's
actually a way more obscene explanation.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Oh, way more obscene. There was a nickname coined by
Matt Heath way back when I was recovering from a
squat sivir cancer on my head and I had implants
put on my under my skin of my head to
stretch the skin to then go over the open, gaping
wound that I had in my head. And it did
look like I had a set of tits on my head,
(48:50):
and it was the saline bags that were inflated under
my skin. Are the same ones used?
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Four tits.
Speaker 7 (48:59):
Are?
Speaker 3 (49:00):
Yes? I asked the surgeon when he removed them, I
need to do this, I see Can I keep them?
And he goes why. I said, I just want to
put them in a jar and put them on my
disc and he's like, you're a seco.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
Yes, I am.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Another tax through on three four eight three T three
slash bus lanes that aren't always open, and idiot, stay
in the other lane where you can actually go through
the other one.
Speaker 4 (49:18):
Also when they decide to allow heavy vehicles on them.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Another boat. Okay, missus lane for putting up with this
guy's ship her jewelry stags must look fast lane, self service,
self discount Lane's.
Speaker 3 (49:30):
Way too close to the bone that jewelry one.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
I have noticed whenever we go on the road, you
do take a little shopping trip. Coglane lanes dally from
Alison Chains David but lane, stay in your own lane,
stranger's lane in christ Hitch.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
Okay, I think we're pretty close here.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
A couple of honorable mentions as we see Ted's lane,
fast lane, lowest lane, Candy lane, like in five, changing
lanes without indicating I don't think I can make it
on there either. So without any further Ado, let's get
into it. Number five, stay in your if in lane.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Yeah, that's that's said most days, isn't it to people
who step out of line?
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Yeah, just wandering and stick in their nose where it's
not wanted. So number five is stay in you lane.
Number four Gelaane Mexic.
Speaker 4 (50:11):
Come on, okay, it's the votes, man.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
That is the thing we we you know, what are
we without our honesty, without our integrity? All we do
here is we collate your votes on three four eight three.
So when even there's a better feedback about something that
didn't like on the show, I just want New Zealand
to know we're holding up a mirror and if you
don't like it, you don't like you. That's a number four,
Layne the Great Lane s day ye again collating the votes,
(50:38):
Elson Jads, I mean I will say it probably swayed
the voting. The fact that we played one of his
songs in the middle of the top five lanes. Screamy
for me would have killed you to play one of
G Lane's songs.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Number two pet Lane, Oh yeah, right, steering it right
in the face.
Speaker 4 (50:52):
Yeah, pet Lane.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
And with that number one, number one Dome Valley passing
lane and one of.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
The more crucial passing lanes in New Zealand, the Dome
Valley Death Valley passing Lane. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
I was once over in the UK and I was
talking to someone and he said, I, you know what
I love about New Zealand passing lanes. I was like, why,
It's because you know, it's way safer to be able to,
you know, pass when you've got the extra lane there is.
You guys have dual carriageways everywhere that's basically a passing
lane of the link to the motor.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
They got the n one right up the whole country.
I think they're talking about country lanes and stuff they
got to deal with.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
That's that.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
Yeah, And you get stuck behind Jeremy Clarkson and his
range Rover with a trailer full of calves.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
In it, unlucky country lanes. So these your top five
stay in there from Langelo Maxwell, the Great Lane, s Daily,
Pit Lane and the Dome Valley, Passing.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
Lane Jerry and Midnight, the Hodarkey Breakfast Jerry and Midnight
The hold Iarkey Breakfast Jerry Away.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Please welcome into the studio with a huge announcement this morning.
Acc here.
Speaker 3 (51:53):
G Lane the suspension there. Thanks very much man. Yeah,
big news, big news, hot on the heels of magic
round and every year I'm sure the audience used to it.
We go on the Export Ultra Beer Garden Tour. We've
been to Paris during the Rugby World Cup. We went
to beer Fest in Munich. Yeah, and most recently Austin,
Texas for the biggest beer garden tour ever. Going over
(52:16):
to Austin City Limits, hitting the barbecues this year and
I the Wallergarden Tour is to the NRL Grand Final
and October. Whether the Warriors are in it or not,
it is one of the greatest weekends on Earth. You
go to Randwick Races on the Saturday boat cruise up
the harbor on Sunday, straight to the stadium for the
(52:37):
NRL Final. Fly on Friday, flyout Monday. It's one of
the biggest weekends on the calendar in Sydney here or not,
this's just not think about that. Well, thanks to our
friends at Export Ultra.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
It's great New Zealanders and Export Alter the bear for here,
there and everywhere. Heading over to the Grand Final is
real bucket list sort of stuff I think for most
for most rugby league fans, just casual sports fans.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
And you'll be joining myself, yourself and Jeremy Wells as
your as your hosts on that ber Garden tour.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
That's a huge So. I know you had mentioned this
the other day that something was in the works here
and a couple of texts had come through and a
bit of concern on three four eight for newer listeners,
there is a there is a thing called the Gelane
Curse where when he travels out of town to support
his home team, they inevitably lose. It's robbed us of
many a World Cup and cricket, three of them.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Yeah, Rugby. I think it was on Rugby a couple of.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
And it's marred the Chiefs for years now and even
the Warriors when they go says now. A text came
through the other day saying, are we concerned at all
that the Warriors are going pretty good at the moment
and there's a chance that they make the Grand Final.
Now what happens if they make the Grand Final and
Glane is at that Grand Final?
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Well, listen, we're going down to the Warriors who are
playing the Cowboys at Taka Stadium in christ Shets. We've
got to remember you and myself a big pre game
at the Richmond Club from midday on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Yes I'm missing Bingo note for that four o'clock kick off.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
That so good Sunday afternoon session there. So my Warriors
turning up there export ultra special. So come along. But
if the Warriors lose that match, I'm there supporting them.
They're away from home, they're away from Gohard Stadium. If
they lose, I won't go to the Grand Final. But
if they win, it's broken.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
Okay, text for a grim Laine, stay off the plane.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
So if people want to come with us, what do
they do?
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Eight hundred hodaki? Technically it doesn't start till Tuesday. Technically
it doesn't start till Tuesday. But because I'm in the
studio here and we're kind of making stuff up as
we go along. We'll put the next ten people in
the drawer.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
Okay, a grand final call.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
Now to get in the drawer to win your spot
on the Export Ultra Grand Final, Beer Garden to it.
Speaker 6 (54:48):
Best weekend of your lane. Oh eight hundred hodaki, all right.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Your chance to jump the queue right here on the Friday. Gary,
Good morning, Gary, you want to go to that.
Speaker 3 (54:59):
Get in there year. You're in the drawer.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Good lad Thanks guys. Chris from Southland you want to
go in the draw mate, Thank you?
Speaker 3 (55:08):
Yes, down the line there, Chris the log truck driver
from Southland.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
Grabby details term you want to go to the Grand Final?
Will chuck you and the drawer. Jeff from tug you
want to go in the drawer. Met from Fang You're
in the drawer. No bloody worries. So let's go the
line six, shall we. Jesse the builder from melf you're
(55:34):
in the drawer.
Speaker 3 (55:35):
Yeah boy, thank you, Yes, down the line mate. We'll
get your details off and we'll take some calls off
here as well. So the first ten through the drawer.
But it all kicks off on Tuesday. Thanks to our
great friends at Export Ultra. You would have seen all
the footage of the beer Adden too has previously gone.
It's a hell of a time.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Go back and listen to those podcasts from Austin, Texas.
I can't, but you should.
Speaker 6 (55:57):
Jerry and Leni the hold I keep Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
Sports Chat with acc Head G Lane taught you by
export Ultra the bell for him. Please welcome to the
studio acc Head g Lane Lane. Great to have you
with us on Friday night.
Speaker 3 (56:13):
Great to be here.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
I need it for taking the time out of your
busy schedules.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
We managed to make it in today. Yeah, big weekend,
this weekend, last round of Super Rugby and a couple
of doozy games. Really, it's the fight for positions from
three to six is what it's all about. Because one
and two are sorted, which is the Canes and the Chiefs.
But the Crusaders playing tonight at home sold out to
against the Hurricanes. Hurricanes rested ten players. Yeah, poker, I've
(56:41):
got the Crusader's heavy favorites. I think that I think
the Hurricanes is paying three eighty, which that's to say,
look looking at their replacements, they're they're not exactly a
B team. I'll throw that out there when you know,
when you've got Kenny Nahola and Josh Morby still in
the back three there, you've got a little bit to
worry about.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
So I'm trying to read the I've got a physical
paper here.
Speaker 3 (56:59):
Yeah, that's old school.
Speaker 4 (57:01):
I still make these.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
Yeah, time did you get a time machine and get
that and come back?
Speaker 1 (57:04):
I don't know what. I don't know they still built these.
But anyway, this one has got all the permutations for
who can finish where I even still don't understand it,
but I can't read. Can you explain to me? Is
there anything that could drastically change this weekend in Super Rugby?
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Well, it really is about the Blues and the Crusaders
fighting for their third place and that home quarter final
which is next weekend, so that's pretty much the basic
story of it.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
And they both need to win their games.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
If the Blues win, they go to three. So if
the Crusaders win and the Blues lose, then the Crusaders
secure that third spot. Because the Brumbies and the Reds
are both playing Mowana and Fijian and through it at home,
so they probably think they're going to wrack up the
ws there right, and they are pesting around as around
that fifth and sixth and fourth mark as well, So
it's a little a little bit of movement, but it's
(57:51):
mainly for that third spot.
Speaker 1 (57:52):
And I saw the we're reading the headlines before and
that fellow was saying the fans would understand all the
resting of the players in the last I disagree with
that because it wasn't the whole point of the run
home being Derby's that this is, you know, we finish
on the crescendo.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
Yeah, I don't think they anticipated. The Hurricanes have been
on such a heater as they have this year and
leading by so much that they can comfortably rest their players.
But Chiefs are resting a few of their players tomorrow
night for the Blues as well. But the Blues are
missing some crucial players well, Bodi Barrett's injured and they've
got a couple of other injuries as well, kept in
by the German and Tom Signe is keptning the Blues.
(58:29):
He got the players player of the Year at their
awards as well, so very highly respected internally. So we're
covering both those games right here on Radiohodache and I
Heart Radio. Thanks the legions at Reeburger seven o'clock tonight
for the Crusader's Canes and Tom's Chiefs Blues.
Speaker 1 (58:43):
What about the I mean the crickets. I see New
Zealand unbickable. A dollar and five hundred and one dollars.
Speaker 3 (58:50):
It's a dollar five if you've got to spare one
hundred thousand.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Dollars, what would you make of that five grand?
Speaker 3 (58:54):
Yeah, that's they're going to win that game. What I forgot,
raindel Yeah, the true Actually there there goes the mortgage.
Speaker 1 (59:02):
That would be broullial.
Speaker 3 (59:03):
So yeah, that Island game and it's an open wicket
for the black Caps before the first Test match kicks
off at Lord's on Thursday night at ten o'clock. I
am so looking forward to that first ball. I want
Matt Henry to have a nice shiny duke ball in
his hand and swing it around corners and have England
fifty five for six in the first session. I'm really
looking forward to that. But that's next week anyway, that
(59:25):
the warm up over the weekend, I don't think you'll
see much out of that game. But then you've got
the Warriors on Sunday night. You've got Champions League. Sorry,
those footy heads out there the round Ball. You're the
voice of round ball in New Zealand. Mania Champions League
final is on Arsenal versus Parents Saint Germain. It's like
three in the morning on a Sunday. So if you're
out in a bender on Saturday night and you want
to stay up all night to your face off, that
(59:47):
kicks off at three am on Sunday morning.
Speaker 1 (59:49):
How do you see the Panthers Warriors game going because
I can't pick on one of them.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Yeah, well, look, the Warriors have passed on all media
this week because they want to concentrate on this game.
They've said no media for play, no media for management,
know nothing, because they're focusing one hundred percent on this game.
They want to knock them off.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
Can I put my tinfoil hat on? Yes, they are
avoiding media because they are going to let this week
go by, and then next week, while we're on the by,
they're going to announce that Luke mccawspin granted an early release.
Oh okay, that's my conspiracy theory.
Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
I've been named in the wider squad for this game.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
And he's actually starting for the new Southwest Cup team.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
So do you think that's because he's over there. He's
moved his stuff over there already, so he just won't
return to New Zealand. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
I just I just think if Tanniboyd hadn't done his knee,
I feel like way more of the fans would have
been calling for I just let him go.
Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Yeah, it's going to be a great game. Top of
the table one and two and we would go to
the top of the table if we win this. And
I can't recall the last time when with this far
into the competition, the Warriors would be top of the table.
So everything to play for that. And that's on a
quarter past eight on Sunday night. Normally that is a
bit of a wound, but thanks to the King God
bless them, there has a day off on Monday, so
(01:01:00):
there's no excuse to get amongst it. Get on the
tav as well anytime tries for a Maltese for the
Warriors had been doing me really good.
Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
So get on the corners.
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Go the wing is yep, absolutely, you're away. All right,
Thanks very much for your time, Delane.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
I'll be back.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
The actual Instagram Jerry and Mini the hold I keep breakfast.
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Quick Chicken on Tim Payne. If you've just woken up
this morning, you're wondering why everyone's talking about Tim Payne, the.
Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
Football yes, not the cricketer who sends in appropriate photos.
Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
Who sent an appropriate photo. He doesn't change your pop.
You can't stop, that's what they say. So yeah, an
Argentine Argentinian social media influencer has gone through all of
the rosters in the football World Cup and tried to
find the least followed account. He found it. It is
(01:01:53):
Tim Payne, who had at that time still more follows
than me.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
And he.
Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
It was four I think it was like four thousand,
seven hundred, I think. And this guy said, here's the
least followed let's make him a star. He is now
when I woke up this morning, he was at well
when we first read the story last night, six hundred thousand.
When I woke up this morning, he was at about
eight hundred thousand. Right now he's at nine hundred and
eighty two thousand, but four now, as we were fresh fresh,
(01:02:22):
he is gaining thousands of followers every single minute that
we refreshed that thing. So I you know, I have
a similar experience when again forty three followers when Jerry
posted me on his Instagram story. Now it feels and
I froze. I was like, all of a sudden, I've
got this massive audience. I don't know what they want
from me. I felt like they were all sitting in
a room with like waiting for the curtain to drop
(01:02:44):
and me to post something. He's made a stern of stuff,
probably why he made it as a professional athlete. He's
taking the social media with his first post Olla toros
espanel the candle lingo say massive thank you first to
you Vellain. It's been pretty crazy forty eight hours to
(01:03:07):
say the least. I just wanted to also express that
I'm very grateful to Bruise enter in my country at
this World Cup and I appreciate all the love from
all around the world, which your grassies.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
So that has been shared over fifteen thousand times, there's
twenty three thousand comments. He only put that up an
hour ago.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
One point seven million views. And the last thing that
he posted, which obviously when this was all happening, would
have been the first post that they saw four point
two million views now and it was a repost from
an all whites post.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
And this is great for musal on football I mean
even that little video there has had two hundred and
thirty six thousand likes likes likes.
Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
It's getting out of head. What would you do if
you were in his situation? You wake up, You've got
a million followers? What do you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
He's done well and lent into it here. It has
been known as the pandemic. This is a story that
will carry on throughout the FIFA World Cup. It's what
we've been looking for. It's Paul the Octopus. Know, it's
a random, good story and it just happens to be
a Kiwi and Tim Paine go key.
Speaker 5 (01:04:09):
We he's sticked over nineteighty six as well.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Congrets. Yeah, he'll be over a mill by the end
of the show. It's absolutely incredible. What I worry is,
so whenever somebody shoots the internet fame like this, people
start going through old tweets and stuff. Are they going
to come Are they going to come across the old
the other Tim Paint.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
All the Australian cricketer tempagne and scandal.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
I just want I want all the new followers. He
should do a thing. Hey there's another guy I'm not.
Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
I know you guys think Australian is on the same time,
different count, okay, and he seens his pictures of his deck.
Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
Different guy.
Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Funnily enough, he's not responding to our dams. We tried
to get him on the show today. I don't know
why you'd think, you know, Yeah, I reckon, he's going
to what do you reckon? It stops?
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
I reckon.
Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
I sit the over under a three million.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
I'm going over. I think this has only just started.
This is going to be the story of the World Cup.
People will be coming to the All Whites Games just
for tim pain.
Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Hold on, let me live Google Cristiano Ronaldo and see
how many followers he's got. I think at one point
he was the most followed the count on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
I think he's in the tens of millions.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Try hundreds, six hundred and sixty five million.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
I don't think he's getting near that, but I think
that for pure comedy value, I think he's getting more
than three thout three million.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Okay, I've run a three million. Gives a text three
for it to Siri and Mania.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Hatched the radio show from six to ten weekdays, The
Darky Breakfast Lane.
Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
I see you around, bright eyed and bushy tailed. This morning.
I can only assume you didn't go to the al
Or Music Awards last night.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
I did not go to, be honest, Mania, but I
did see that Marlon Williams did pretty well. He's signing off, actually,
Marlon Williams for a wee while he's.
Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
Taken a bit of a break and a breather.
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
He's taking a breather. He's going to do a national tour.
But he swept a few awards as well. He's probably
the only thing I noticed from the Music Awards. He's
also my wife's hall pass really yeah, which, okay.
Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
Just the point.
Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
I went to watch live once at a festival and
I and he came on, and I didn't see my
wife for two hours. And yes, she was at the
front of the stage.
Speaker 4 (01:06:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
And she came back and she had no nickers. Hmm, okay,
I'm not sure what she did with them.
Speaker 5 (01:06:14):
It's very tall, Marlon Williams, very tall.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
That was my wife. That's a disappointed thing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Yeah. Is she taller than you?
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:06:21):
She?
Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Why have I only just learned now?
Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
Can't I wear the same size shoes as her?
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Okayna, but I was just going to say that. My
only two takeaways from the I'll say to a music
awards are one. I think. I don't know if it's
we don't have as many musicians these days, or maybe
it's just a sign that I'm getting older and I've
lost touch with everything. But I didn't know who half
of those people were last night.
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Yeah, one of the Top twins, the last remaining top
twin anyway, did turn it into a bit of a
political event and a bit of a went on a
bit of a tirade.
Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
I knew who she was, yeah, but there were a
bunch of the other ones that I was like, Oh God,
am I just getting old now? Or is the Are
they not as many bands? And so you don't really,
I don't know you see as many. And then the
other tag away that I saw this morning is when
we came into work. We share an office. We share
a kitchen. It with Flavor, New Zealand's home of the
Hottest Hop up on R and B, Old School old
(01:07:11):
school Hop up and R and B. Actually I think
it's the other one. But this morning Zarah, who does
the Breefige sut there we saw her initially what we
thought was drinking from the tap of.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
The sink at the sheered kitchen sink.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Yes, I So we were looking out there and Lane's like,
what is this. She's drinking out of the sink. So
that poked my head over. Sure enough, her head's in
the sink. Oh the hell's going on there? Then she
snapped us looking at her, so looked away. I went
over to the other window. I had another lock. She
still got a hid in the sink. It's what the
hell's going on? She saw us, and at that point
(01:07:46):
she's like, I've got to come in and explain, explain myself.
Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
It turns out what had happened.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
She went to the Music Awards last night, was feeling dusty,
had herself a whale of a time. And then this
morning for a bit of wacky content, and on the
radio show Charlie, he made her drink pickle juice because
that's what they give the athletes when they cramp up,
and he's like, fixes you, so you're hungover, have a
crack on the pickle juice.
Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Didn't like it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:13):
What she was doing was she was spewing in the
same communal What do you stand on spewing in communal sex? No?
Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
No, get in touch three floor
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
They breakfast, get set for winter Winter Bunning's trade
