Speaker 1 (00:00):
The hold Achy Breakfast filled Big Rewards with New Power,
Past Pro Awards by Bunnings, The hold Achy Breakfast with
Midnight Stewart and for one more day, this is tough.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Ben Early just put an expiration date on him. Yesterdays
and I and Eurley here for you Wednesday morning, morning, Early,
How are you very good? Thank you?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
It's wonderful to be here in another day in paradise?
Is Paul Henry used to say.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Well, I started saying again, now he's back gracing your
I was gonna say your waves.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
And actually he's very visible currently, Yes.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Very visible. Currently. I was going to say, I had
spent a week not waking up at four thirty in
the morning. I'm now back into it. And the thing
I've always noticed about starting having early mornings again. Anyone
who's listening to the sound of my voice has this.
The Monday is fine, Tuesday and Wednesday I find like
it gets I find it gets harder. I don't know
what have you found that.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Today wasn't too beads, But yeah, I can imagine tomorrow
it might be.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
But Jeremy is back Tomorrow is allegedly he's back from
his he's been he's been trying to pass holidays in
Bali off as like cultural excursions into Indonesia. I see,
whereas he's just over there with every other Kewi and
Nussie bogan who's ever been on holiday before. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Do you find that people that go to Bali they
feel like you're judging them. They're like, where are you going?
I'm going to Bali? Oh but I'm not going to Kuder,
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Going to cur I'm going to chant No.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
No, I'm going actually to a little place you've probably
not heard of. It's very quiet.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yes, it's the other place that goes Yes, no, one
hundred percent. Having said that, I've been there and I
get where everyone goes there and when I am inevitably
found out for whatever indiscretions I've made in the media industry,
that's probably moving. That's where people go to join everyone.
Alison there, Thanks for rat for joining us this morning,
and that's all We've got time for.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
A number of allegations coming out about Mannah Later.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
Jerry and Leni the hold Ikey breakfast.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
To you, what's going on? Rhythmond Vines has confirmed that
this year's festival will be the final edition held at
the wyaleheaka estate in Gussy bringing its historic twenty four
year chapter in the region to a close. It's going
to run again this year and then moving it so
that they can basically fit more people in. They're saying
that it's getting more and more expensive to run these things,

(02:20):
that acts are charging more, and so it's they need
basically to sell more tickets that they can afford it.
So they're going to move it somewhere. They haven't said
where yet.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Will it be in the same region? Do you think
in the total Arfity region?

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I don't know. I don't know. Also, and look forgive me,
because I haven't been there. Surely could just open up
another paddock. It's just a farmyard, isn't it is? Anyone?
Is it not a vineyard? Oh? Is it? Idea? Again?
Forgive me, I've never been any of you guys been before.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
No, not really my scene. I'll be honest with the
old rhythm and vines. But I've got a suggestion. I
say move it to the other coast to Tartanaki into
just a cowpowd.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
So many of them rhythm brilliant, right, I mean, from
from what I'm saying on Instagram, it's sort of almost
that already, But what has that much been my algorithm?
What way is she getting a lot of volume out
of those? What way would you face it towards the mountain?
Away for the mountain.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Oh, that's a very good question. Imagine that. I meagine
the stage with the mountain as the backdrop. I mean,
just gorgeous if you did say it. They've got the
they've had boe Head. But that's in the central New Plymouth.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yes, is that the one? Is that the arena where
it's got like a pond in front of the sto Yeah,
that's the Bowl of Brooklyn's there. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yes, I've seen a number of wonderful concerts there. Yes, yeah,
it is. But weird that there is a pond in
front of the stage. Yeah, I saw am there, Michael Michael's,
Mickey Stipe there, just going. I didn't think I had
come to a police good New Plymouth and see a
bunch of people dancing and duck shit.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well that's basically what it is. So none neither reviews
have been No.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
I went and picked up my girlfriend at the time
after Rhythm Vines and the next day we got engaged,
and then nine months later we separated, So that was cool.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I wonder what happened to rhythm? Nothing?

Speaker 7 (04:09):
Man, she got sunburned, She made.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
A dog, A dog made a few dogs.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Why did she suddenly want to settle down after four
days of rhythm?

Speaker 7 (04:21):
Because I drove seven hours to go pick her up?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Interesting?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Isn't that.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
A number of experiences and instead of her cup was full.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
I've got I've got so many questions, so hold on,
spiritual spirit. How long have you guys been together for
the stage? Why went you invited to rhythm? That's a
good point.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
Part one, three years? Part two?

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Because I had my own New Year's gig that I
had to attend.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
So what did you get there? I went to Ellieslie
Racecourse and.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
Played in front of a full stand drunk.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
So you were playing a gig? Yeah, would have killed
to get ruder up there? Actually, yes? So then you
drove from where Auckland and then picked her up at
the back of a four day bender. Uh, and then
drove back.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
And then dropped a knee down by the waterfront.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
Asked the mum to make sure it was all right,
and she was stoked. Yep, dropped a knee She said, yes.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Wow, Well, I'm in serotonin at that point.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Hurrah or a number of hurrahs.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
No, well, like I said, four consecutive nights of her
rung out with her sister a bit and slipped in
and got and that's what she did. Yeah, yeah, I
don't even think she really watched the music.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Sounds like that's brilliant. Okay, So none of you never
went to You never went to Rhythm of Vines. No
one ever droves seven hours to pick her up from
a music fistil after four hours and then proposiate, look
at my hair before you. I also never went there.
I mean all my UNI mates were like, buy tickets
as soon as it came out. I'm like, first of all,
when do you when did you get the money for

(06:04):
that single? Don't you have to milk cows l some
of to afford University?

Speaker 7 (06:08):
It was the.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Gathering in my day, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Jerry and Midnight the hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Just found out that none of us ever went to
Rhythm and Vice. Also while that song was playing, found
out none of us really been to any.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Festal No, I said, I'm into the Gathering before, which
is the electronic music festival in Golden Bay, because I
lived in Wellington. Everyone went there, hopped across the street
there and we went to that. But I was not
an electronic music guy, so I sad a big day
out of you.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
What about us staying in tents and watching music acts
and gumboots guy, I mean, I don't mind that.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I did a bit of that overseas in the UK,
but always you know, guitar based music.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah. Yeah, you want to watch a band, you don't
want to watch a DJ pressing play or if you
don't know Barnaby Joyce as a politician over and Ozzy.
He was Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the National Party,
but now he's a member of a different party. Put
Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party, which sounds like a very
unifying party. One Nation sounds very yeah, I think it

(07:09):
is crowding. It sounds like they're really bringing people together
over there. He was being interviewed on the ABC seven
to thirty program about join One Nation and joining One
Nation brother and to defend Pauline Hanson's trip to the UK,
we should meet a far right activist and all done.
Apparently not on the on the company dime, but anyway,
they were interviewing him, and he said.

Speaker 8 (07:29):
This, your decision to defect to one nation is dragging
you further into a place of intolerance and racial discrimination.
You're defending your leader, but are you really comfortable with
where she is taking you?

Speaker 2 (07:43):
I think, sorry, it's a dog.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Sorry, it's a dog.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I love immediately how he said to go, it's a dog,
not a human.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
I don't talk to my friends and family like that.
I just want everyone to know that, just in case
you thought I did.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Because he's the greatest video possibly of all time, which
is the very serious BBC correspondent doing a cross and
his kids keep coming into the room and then yeah
during lockdown, and then I think it was actually a
nanny rather than his wife thinking she's not on camera,

(08:21):
sneaking in the bottom and dragging the kid out. Yeah,
And I think that's the thing. I think that might
have come into his mind at that moment, like people
think it's a kid and I've just gone.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
It's hard to tell with that guy, it was really
hard to tell. Someone's just text. Robin Joyce has text
around three Barnaby Joyce is my first cousin a dog.
It's been doing the rounds. Has filled my feet up
every different version of that, and in fact, as is
often the case on.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
The INTHI that people have already made a remix of it.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Sorry, umble, sorry, it's a dog.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
How goodness that keep that on the button bar a.
We're going to need to play that.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
We're can do a few remixes today, Yeah we are.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Actually, we had a good old session out in the.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Offices Remax Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Jerry and the Night, the Keep Breakfast and.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
For your latest sport headlines thanks to the export ultra
of the beer for here.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
We needs have won the toss and decided to field
and the dead Rubber Odi I against Barbados. The black
Caps have an unassailable three one lead in the five
game series. Darryl Mitchell, number one ODO batsman in the world,
is unavailable with a hip strain. I'm not saying he's old.
That's an old man injury. Christie and Clark comes into
the eleven for Matt fisher What Matt fishery bowled well

(09:46):
the other day?

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, bold, very well the other day. There's nothing wrong
with Christian Clark, something for the mums, something wrong with
Barbaden's generally, though no one, no one understands.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
I think there was a few in the last game,
a couple. It was a a lot of the trumpets scenarios.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I wonder if potentially, like what else is there to
doing by about us, suppose just go down the go
down the beach.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
That's true actually to one day, so they might filter
in over the day.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
It's a good point. That's a good point. It doesn't
look like there's a line around the block at the moment.
It doesn't know defended there by Nichols nor we don't
have these rights.

Speaker 7 (10:24):
You can so that I'm watched along.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Just I'm watching along. That does not commentary of any sort.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Of Warriors coach Andrew Webster is named an unchained side
to face the Bulldogs and Sitney on Saturday after the
eight point NRL just squeaking past the wooden spooning dragons.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
By potentially a forward pass.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yes, that's right. Seen to Roccoberry, this is the name
you haven't heard for a while. It is on the
extended bench after showing solid gains and reserve grade as
he bids to return to the top side.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Thinking them gains and the reserves are I've got a
teamless in front of me. Chance Nicol clock Stad Luke
Metcalf and Rock o'berry. I'm the extended extended bench. Yeah,
don't be surprised because Web is a master of last
minute swapsea's yeah, he'll slide people in there on onto
the bench. I wouldn't be shocked if we see one
of them starting. Would you put Charans in?

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I'm not sure that it's about three million dollars on
the extended bench.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Yes it is, Yes, it is. Do you think we
see Luke Metcalf playing for the Warriors again this year?
I think there would have to be an injury, I
believe so.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah, which is weird because he played so well last
year until he got injured.

Speaker 9 (11:30):
I know.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
But then so is it? Is it disruptive to put
him back in at this point or are we potentially
going to need him at some point in the playoffs
or in the last couple of weeks of the season.
Maybe do we need to get him some reps? This
this is far too much earnest sporting analysis for six
thirty in the morning, but it's on my mind.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Asian, European and American PGA tours have announced a new
strategic golfer lines and what shapes is another potential setback
for the Live.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Circuit's Live not suffered enough.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Have Life continues to seek alternative funding sources after Saudi
Arabia's public Investment Fund decided to save it there backing at.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
The end of the season. That is that is heartbreaking up.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
It is the end of Live I would say, funded
by golf. Yeah, love golf.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
The problem with love golf is no one really cared
about it. You know, it was a good idea and
I liked the idea, but I didn't watch any of it.
And then what what you can't compete with earliest history.
It's like like Ryan Fox made the other day. He
said he's planning a parade. He's planning on bringing the
Claric jug back here and just taking it anywhere. Yeah,

(12:36):
potentially Dan Courtney place, I reckon where? Yeah, around the
don't casual mall perhaps? Yeah? Would you would you be
turning out for that?

Speaker 3 (12:47):
I think if any sports person is going to host
a party, Ryan Fox would host a good one.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yes. One. I saw a couple of overseas because you know,
in the age of the social media, I think this
just we've reached peak social media. Anything happens. There are
more videos about the thing happening than of it happening.
And I just saw a bunch of overseas places talking
about chasing the Fox, so they've gone. Did you know that?

(13:14):
Every year Ryan Fox hosts basically a golfing party back
back in his home country of New Zealand.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Speaking of that, do you ever get Are you so
addicted to your phone like me? Like most of us are?
Then when you're watching a sporting event, occasionally you will
just find your phone in your hand. You look at
Instagram and they'll show it a replay on the Instagram
of the game you're watching and you go, oh, what
am I doing?

Speaker 2 (13:36):
And you didn't see it? Yeah? I did that literally
at a game in Australia last week. I didn't. I
was like, oh did he score that? I was at
the ground. Ye, It's ridiculous. Jerry and Night the Hotiarchy
breakfast yesterday we talked about Count Binface. You may have
heard of him, the satirical political character played by Jonathan

(13:57):
David Harvey. I don't like reading his name out. I
shouldn't have done that because shatters the illusion. It does.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
I like to think that he's a genuine alien who's
come here to disrupt the political discourse.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yes, that's right, and that is what he's doing. But
he's got some pretty good he's got some pretty good policies.
So he's running in a by election over there in
the UK. You would have seen him on your social
media feed. It's a pretty elaborate costume.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
It's a really good costume. I think that's his greatest actually.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
I think so he does look like an alien that
just happens to have a bed on his face. He
doesn't just it's not just upside down Oscar the Grouch. No,
this is a This is a proper costume. He has got.
Some people accuse him of not having any actual policies.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Oh come now, yeah, but he does.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
He's got a full and costed manifesto. He rickons including
bringing back cfex which is Talor Tubbies, yet kepping the price.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I think Telly Tubbies is his cabinet.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yeah, I got capping the price for ninety nine flake
ice cream at ninety nine p, nationalizing a Dell building
at least one affordable house, abolishing var and football. I
mean that's very popular. Yes, and make teams water executives
swim in the Thames when they because you know how
they come out and they say it's good to swimming.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yes, He's like, okay, every time you do that, Yeah,
you jump in and when your skin melts off.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yes. And it's funny that the guy with the bin
on his head has some of the most you know,
rational and logical policies. They all make sense to me.
We got us thinking about our own policies. So this
morning it is a hidaky breakfast policy announcement. So thank
you all for gathering here. Just a bit of hush,
if we could just a bit.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Of hush, similar background bid to the all Blacks not ahead.
We've got a press conference going on team announcement.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
We've got the gathered media here in the studio and
they've brought cameras that make noises when they flash, all right,
and the microphones are feeding back a little bit. Mine
is one that I was talking about yesterday is asn't
asn't adult. We're talking off the back of the Oasis
index about you know, could you do this and you
do that buying two packs of daries?

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Whatever?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
I think as an adult you should be allowed to
do just about anything you want to do. If you
want to ride a motorbike with no helmet on if
you want to. If you are over the age of
eighteen and of sound body and mind, you should be
allowed to do whatever you want. Those shoe comes where
we've got ACC. And so if you're going to be
riding your motorbike with no helmet and crash with two

(16:14):
packs of Darius hanging out of your nostrils.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yes, so you opt out of the public house system.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah. Yeah, so it's the ACC wayn So basically you
get to go on and go, hey, you get you
get notified of all of the risks of the things
you're doing straight up up top. They're like, hey, this
is what happens in your crashing motorbike, no helmet does
what happens if you smokeg Yeah, these are all of
the health consequences. This is what happens if you play
rugby for a long time, you know, rugby league, if

(16:41):
you're a boxer whatever. Are you happy with all of this?
And if you go yeah, I am a okay, sweet
sign here, you're now not eligible for ACC eligible.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
The textpayer will not have to foot the bell sid.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Whatever you want. But when you when what we told
you is going to happen eventually happens there, you're.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Sort of on public health system up down. I quite
like that.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Yea, yeah, just like that, and then you don't have
to pay acc levies or anything like that because you're
not going to benefit from any of it when it
comes back.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Similarly, I think the sausage outside of Bunnings should be
kept at two dollars.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
How much are that?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I've seen too fifty? I've seen two fifty? What yeah,
I mean I would say a dollar, but I think
that's ridiculous. Now, yeah, yeah, you couldn't. You can You
couldn't turn a barbecue on for a dollar.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
No.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
There was a cafe in Wellington that tried to keep
long blacks at two dollars fifty, you know, genuine nineteen
ninety nine prices, and they just they did it for ages,
and I think they've finally relented.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Do you know the only industry I think that's been
exempt from from the creeping cost of living crisis is
fish and chip shops. We do a fish and chip
shop the other day. They still had the same board
from pre COVID. They hadn't changed their prices, but your margin.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
I guess the scoop of chips. There's a bit of
shrink there.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Shrink flation. Yeah, well that's my next policy, banned shrink flation.
Be it banning shrink flation?

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Very trumpy and policy, justute a real way of doing it,
but just say that, like he said he was going
to get rid of inflation.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yep, he did. That's so good on him. Yeah. So anyway,
those are our policies that we would like to run on.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
You get another one, Well, mine's quite nearnest one. Actually,
I know we have a lot of trainees that listen
to this. I think it should become a criminal offense
to take more than sixty days to pay an invoice.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yeah. I like that great, because at the moment there's
no recourses, there nothing. If you just don't pay it,
there's nothing anyway. You can call the cops and now go.
You have to take them to court. Could I introduce
a subclause to yours potentially this is an hoar brainstorm.
It's to send the boys around clause. So it's sixty
days in the first instance, you are then allowed to

(18:50):
send the boys around.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Yeah, I think that's good. I think similarly, when you
enter into that contract, that is you know that that
that consequence could happen?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Is it just down the bottom here? You'll see we've
got this in the boys around clause, So just sign
there initial there that you've read that. And then after
sixty days, which I'm sure won't be an issue for us,
we're going to send the boys around and if it's
still not paid after that, yeah, then you're off to jail.
So now those are our policeason. That's why we're asking
for your vote at the upcoming election.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
Jerry and Mni the hod Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Robbie Williams performed at the twenty twenty six feet for
World Cup Final and then he did a TV interview
afterwards which you will have seen. He was in front
of a giant pink microphone and a small white object
dropped out of either his mouth or nose. Hard to tell.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Yeah, mouth is better than nose, is it? I think
so in this case.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
In one situations he packed it up accidentally, so I
don't know where it came from. You would have seen
the video. It's just this white clump of something onto
the microphone. He sees it, he goes o wipes it
off the thing and then without realizing because it was
obviously hot as hell. There he goes to wipe sweat
off his brow and then just puts the right on

(20:03):
his forehead where it remained on the side that was
facing the camera for the remainder of the interview. It
was one of the most bizarre videos. I think. I've
seen it and it kind of it kind of skipped
me at the time. I was just like, oh, okay,
and then it has been recirculating on social media. I'm like,
oh my god, that all just happened there. Did you
see this? I did. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
So obviously Robbie Williams had a few struggles with addiction
in that over the years, and so people immediately speculated
it was nefarious narcotics.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Like potentially some sort of white powder that might have
been sniffed up his nose but still in a clump.
And then as he's talking, he exhales and a big
clump of that ends up on the microphone. I think,
either way, I'm fine with it. Well, he's taken. He's
taken to social media to address the allegations.

Speaker 10 (20:49):
Have to apologize for the object that fell onto the
microphone yesterday. It was deeply unprofessional people about me. But
it's okay because I had several more.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
What you can't hear there is He then pokes his
tongue out. He's got two mints on his tongue. The
issue there is in the background of that piece of audio.
It sounded like someone I don't know to me, and
I don't know why anyone would do this, but it
sounded like someone dragging a credit card across the table
in the background when he's well, he's trying.

Speaker 10 (21:27):
To apologize for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday.
It was deeply unprofessional. People worried about me. But it's
okay because I had several more.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Is this a case of hiding and playing sight there
from Robbie?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
That would be bold with it during the interview, denying
the allegations, continuing to wreck up some lines.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
We've had similar allegations at leasted us at the Octografast.
Don't if he's row any of that social media. I
might be able to explain that up next.

Speaker 5 (22:04):
Jerry and Midnight the hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
So we're just talking about Robbie Williams potentially well some
sort of white substance coming out of one of their
officers on his face onto a microphone that inflicted away
posted her tongue in cheek video basically admitting that it
was he had done something, but that it was a
breath mint. It was a breath mint.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, it was the brushing it off the microphone and
then accidentally onto his own head, which was yeah, it
just didn't let that call.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
The optics of it. And that's what we learned when
we were at the Oktoberfish. So you know over there
in Germany they've got that I can't remember what they
call it, but you see them on the streets snuffing
white powder off there, off the back of the sniff snuff.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
Yeah, well like a like a Victorian count would have.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
You see it over there in Europe and October fist
I come around and sell it to you. Now, at
one point it had caffeine in it, and I believe
it had a nicotine in it.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Yeah, okay, but it's at a little pick me up.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
A little pick me up while you're pounding stein uf
to stein, enough to stein. But it was a certain
pointant before we went there, they took the nicotine out
of it, right, And by the time we got there,
they're taking the caffeine out of it. So it was
at that point. It was essentially like dried toothpaste. It
was in a powdered form in the sniffer and it sucked,
but you felt like, I don't know, it was a

(23:22):
crazy thing to be given to be part of it. Yeah,
So we were doing heaps of it and then doing
heaps of it and it was all having yes and
it don't know. One of the guys is trying to
melt it on a spoon, but there were a couple
of photos going around to people with white powder around
their nose. One of the guys just took a handful

(23:43):
of the stuff and just buried his face like scarface.
We posted a photo that on the social media and
because of the time zone difference, when we woke up
the next morning, the PR nightmare that we woke up
to because the internal PR people here at the company
had woken up to those photos, got oh my god,
the hell are you guys doing? Well? Do you think
that we would just do a bunch of cog and

(24:05):
then posted under the Instagram story.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah no, that stuff hasn't been done at Radio Hadarchy
since the eighties, so where it was perfectly acceptable. But yeah,
him wiping the mint through his hair. So I've got
a cop friend and he one day on journey on
a Saturday night, walked around the back of a pub
in rural Taranaki and there was a circle of men

(24:27):
all smoking something.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
And sharing one cigarette. Cigarette.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
You know they're not cheap now, no, no, And he
walked around. They saw him in his uniform and the
guy who had it in his hand just wiped it
through his hair like he was slicking his hair back.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Lit.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Oh, oh my god, yeah, like the casual just slicking
my hairback and he rubbed the lit substance through his hair.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Jerry in the Night, The Hoarchy Breakfast, Jeremy Wells and
the nice Stuart The Larchy Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yesterday we addressed the Oasis index, which is the cost
of five pints of beer and two cigarettes. Various cities around.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
The world take solely on the fact that they have
a song called cigarettes and Alcohol.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Yes, where they is that with the outline that they
have five pints.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
I don't think it's even a lyric in the song.
I'm going to throw the ruder here, who's a big
Oasis fan, big oass fan.

Speaker 7 (25:24):
Look, I'm just looking through the algorithm my brain.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
I do not believe that they address the numbers and
as I don't know where they got the two pecks
cigarettes from them.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
And that's the confusing part for us, because five pints
and two packs of cigarettes for one person seems like
a frantic.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Night out max.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
You would where would you get the chance to drink
the beers if you're smoking that many diaries in a
night out? Yeah, I mean, so what's I'm not a smoker,
So there's.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Twenty five in a pack, right, yeah, twenty's let's say
twenty yeah, let's say twenty, so forty cigarettes and five yeah, yeah,
forty or fifty cigarettes in the space that takes you
to drink five pints, which would be probably a couple
of hours.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, going slow.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yeah, So that is a frenetic pace they've put out
the ending. Someone's done crunch the numbers. The most expensive
cities in the world you probably live in one of
them Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington. Conversely, the cheapest Shanghai, Rio, Cairo, Moscow.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Can I just say that if you're smoking two packs
of cigarettes with five beers, you're not going drinking, You're
going smoking. Yeah, yeah, if you called up your friends
and should we go out for a night of smoking.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Do you guys want to pop into the drinking area
for a second time?

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Some of the take that outside, mate, No one wants
to smell that.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Yeah, but we got us thinking, Look, it is not
a fear representation at least of a Kiwi night out.
You're not getting through two packs of daries five points.
I don't know. Look, if you're settling in for a
big session.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
I'd go I'd go higher on the beer, much lower
on the daries.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
That's right. So we want your feedback three four eight three,
or we can give us a call. Oh eight hundred
haduky we took it to sosh mid last night. What
are we missing here on the Hodaki index? Somebody who's
in charge of the radio Hadaki account has commented got
a factor in about three hundred ish for reasons. I
don't know what those reasons are. Maybe we'll have to
ask Robbie Williams.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Yeah, I see three hundred dollars, yes, right, Okay, you
know yep, those are other reasons.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Yes, Ben, he said, Ask Robbie Williams. Someone said a
game of pool while watching The Wars, so what's that?
What did that go for? Two dollars old?

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I'm a big advocate for free pool and pubs.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
But the someone said he's only cigarettes just bummed them
off someone else, So that's that's free.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Okay, Well factor that out as well. Fifty dollars for darts,
two hundred dollars splitting a bag, forty dollars pokies. Someone
else said four hundred dollars for a bag your plugs,
a crook, a bag of I'm not sure groceries. Depends
on what you're getting in how many ways as well?
It's another report there. Another thing that a lot of
people are bringing up on on sosh Mid was the
after kre the next day, like do you need to

(28:00):
fact a budget as well? So for example, do you
need a power aid and a panandole? Do you need
a you know, factor and a three piece quarter pack?
The next day? Perhaps, would you accept that in your
hodk indix or do you think we need to restrict
it to the evenings? No?

Speaker 4 (28:14):
I think twenty four hours, yeah, twenty four hours, twenty
four hours.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
So then morning after Pearl writes Matt Hoyes Sausage says
ale on the christ shirts strap that'd be about a dollar.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Two dollars for the coin operated cunning machine and the
pub toilet and.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
The pub toilets.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yeah, someone said a mean vomit. Yep, that'll probably be
They'll probably be free.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
That is that is free in fact that it's a refund.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Sneaky honey on the pokes when you slip it you
no kivi chi's coming through three four A three. Someone said,
fifty dollars meat for barbecue, forty dollars. Bocks of beer
thirty dollars uber.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Most beod are going one pack of daries. Yes, yeah,
I think that's about right if you are a smoky
and you're having a proper night.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Great, great point here from Josh on three four o
three Cigarettes and Alcohol song. It was written when you
could get a ten pack of daries. Oh, so that
might make a little bit more sense. Bottle of Gavis gone,
so you can drive home. Sixteen points of Guinnis and
Messa Sundays. Oh, fifteen biers. All right, there's been so
many texts coming through. We're going to need to go
to a song to collate these. We're gonna cost this

(29:21):
up for uniques and try and find the Hodaky Index.
What does it cost for the average KEEPI night out?

Speaker 5 (29:26):
Jerry and mid Night the Hdiarchy breakfast.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
All right, we're feverishly typing away. Then calculated this morning
because we are religating the Oasis Index from yesterday. If
you're just joining us, the Oasis index was based off
the cigarettes and Alcohol song by Oasis where they were
describing the night out which involved five pints of beer
two packs of cigarettes. The Oasis index is how expensive
is that in your city? So for example, in Melbourne,

(29:51):
which is the most expensive city in the world, it's
one hundred and eleven dollars. In Auckland this is US
dollars in Auckland's sixty Wellington sixty seven. Those are the
hot most expensive cities in the world for the Oasis Index.
But we thought that doesn't sound like your average Kiwi
night out, and so we're putting together the Hadaki Index

(30:12):
this morning.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
So crucially, here said fifty dollars meat for the barbecue,
forty dollars for box of the best RTDs, and a
thirty dollars uber. But hang on, if you're barbecuing fifty
dollars with a meat, where are you getting the Uber
of two. Are you getting uber to the supermarket the pub?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Is that a pregame? Is that before? So this has
got to be a night out as well. Yeah, so
I don't think it's like a box of export ultras
and you're just parking up in the backyard. I think
this is the index needs to be. You're going out
for a night out because it is pints and cigarettes.
You don't have to drink a pint at home. So
we've had so many text comes through. We've also had

(30:51):
a lot of messages on social media, things like bottles
of Gavis gone as you said, fifty dollars meat for barbecue,
sixteen pints of guinness and a mass of Sunday Pooh.
Doesn't for the pres the minimum ten pints, don't need cigarettes,
just bum them off someone. Then mac is run when
your missus reluctantly picks you up? Did I send that?

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (31:11):
It does seem oddly specific. The other thing I think
we need to factor in is when does the index finish?
So does it finish once you leave the pub at
the end of the night, because chances are you going
to go and get a feed. Definitely not.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
I think it's got to be the whole package. It's
from start to finish, and finish obviously happens about mid
afternoon on the Sunday.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
On the next day. Okay, so are we going to
factor in what a three piece quarter pack and a
blue parade? Yep, I've got down here. Okay, perfect? All right?
Have you collated the.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
We've collated all our responses and you know, we are
the panel here. We've had to make some hash decisions.
But I think this is what we're going to go for.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Here.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
We've got we're get one packet of daries. Yeah right,
I think that's fine. So that's in smoke responsibly. Yes, yeah,
that's about forty bucks. Forty bucks and it's giving a
few away. Yeah, definitely, definitely.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
But also I would say that is assuming you already
have a lighter with you lighter, because I would say
nine times out of ten, yeah, how much is the
lighter they gouge your eyes up for a lighter?

Speaker 4 (32:15):
A bit about five bucks in there?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Yeah, all right, we've got forty dollars on the pokey
responsible sorry bit responsibly.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
It's about right. It's a lowest little flutter on the pokey.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Forty bucks on the poky slash nags.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Yeahs.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
By the way, the horses, Yes, I think sports it
could very much change the entire equation here depending on
how that flutter on the pokies goes. Oh absolutely, but
I think for the purposes of the Hodak Index, we're
going to assume that's all gone.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
The forty Bar one of.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
The greatest nights of my life was in Harward and
we excidentally won easy bit Trofiictor between three of us
and it was one of the best things ever. You
don't think you can spend nine hundred dollars between three
of you in a night and how were in nineteen
ninety nine, but you can.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
I have been on two separate Staggeder's where the jackpot
was one on the pogies, as the odds of that
happening once in your lifetime are insane. I hit the
jackpot on Kezy's Staggdering. Yeah, so I catered for the
whole thing. And then another one. We've flew into into Dunedin,

(33:25):
stopped off at the Mosgow Pub, hit the jackpot immediately
and boy did we get some looks from the locals there.
So we had to shout every un in the bar,
and that basically wiped it out.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
I was say that there'd be the end of it, Yeah,
just so you could get out of there alive. It's okay,
but let's say forty on the pokerson you're not winning anything, yep, right,
it would be responsibly and right paints. Now they had
five paints in there and we're just we're New Zealanders.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Okay, that's just not enough, no, not for a night out.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
So how how many do you think? Well, you know,
there's been a lot.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Of suggestions that we have fifteen bottles of the year whatever,
but this is a night out. These are pints, right,
this is out a pub. We've we've gone somewhere in
the middle of eight yeah, eight pints eight please drink
responsibly drunk responsible, Right, So that's the end of the
kind of night.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Right, yeah, day and the poke is eight pints.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
And then you're on the comdown right, right, So then
you've got your Kebb combo.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
With the chips, with the chips in the random soft
drink that you don't really open until the Dick's day.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Right can of budget color where you take one sip
out of it and then you wake up and it's
on your bedside table. What smells sweet.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Also eat responsibly, yes, yeah, that's that's twenty bucks for
the Kebb combo yep. And then you've got some sort
of taxi home. This might be a bit unders, but
twenty five bucks. That's about what it costs me. Yeah, yeah,
so yeah, taxi twenty five thirty Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
I share it as well.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
Yeah, so that that twenty I think twenty five bucks
is a good number if you if you cause a
decent ruckers at the pub, you get a free ride homely.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Yeah, not home, this is one stop off on the way,
and then we're talking next day. So then you've got
the recovery and that's a KFC Zinger Burger combo. The
next day you eat responsibly twenty dollars.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yes, that's eating responsibly, And that's if you don't upsize
it to the box meal where you get the potato
and gravy and a couple of wicked wings. We're assuming
you're not doing It's.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Assume you're not and blue power eight of course, Yeah,
absolutely crucial there at five dollars and a pack of panadole,
because you don't obviously take a pack of panadole. But
you can never find the panadole you bought last time. No,
I've got about seven trays of panadole with two out

(35:45):
of them in my car glove box, and I never
remember that they're in there.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Go and buy another one. My message, We've got this
like the tuple were click clack container in the bathroom
with all of our you know, medicines in it, and
she puts them in there. And when I'm desperately hungover,
I don't really clamoring around the bathroom trying to unlock
a couple with yeah, just to find the leading them
on the bedside table. Anyway, So all of that one

(36:12):
peck of daries are lighter forty bucks through the Pokey's
eight pints one Kebab combo with the chips and the
drunk and Uber Slash Taxi Home KFC Zoner Burger Combo,
Blue Powerade and a pack of panadole comes to You've
got it.

Speaker 7 (36:29):
You've got the two hundred and seventy nine dollars.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Two hundred and seventy nine dollars, Oh my god, and
it's more realistic. Yeah, wow, turn is seventy nine dollars.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
That is ridiculous. I can see one. No one's going anymore.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Jerry and Minian, The Hodarchy Breakfast daily bespoke content that
you won't find on the radio show The HERDARKI Breakfast podcast.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
The opening ceremony of the twenty twenty six come Off
Games is overnight tomorrow from Glasgow. Skysport has massive coverage.
There is up to nine channels at any one time
covering the action. One person. One person who's joined the
Sky Sports team for the event. You represented New Zealand
at four Summer Parallelic Games. Off the top of my head,
eleven gold medals, seven silver and white brus It's Dame

(37:13):
Sophie Pasco, Good morning, Daie. Have you ever put them
all on at once? I have?

Speaker 9 (37:18):
Yeah, yeah, as you know my last final photo.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
And yeah, look I've run two half marathons in my life.
I've worn those, yeah a million times.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
I could see myself on a Saturday night at home
having had a few beers and just walk around the
house with all my.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Medals on.

Speaker 9 (37:37):
You they're just sitting a bag at home.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
Okay, you don't bring them out very often.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Surely people whenever they're out at your house, like gone
gives a look at a gold one?

Speaker 9 (37:45):
Surely, Well, we've been doing a few Reno's at our
house at the moment. So I've been the trades have been.
I've been wanting to have a look.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
Yeah, though, if you touch one, you can never win one.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Do you? Have you ever heard the curse of the
gold medal? I've I've heard of this, so, but that's
only true if you haven't won one. So if you've
never won a great medal before and then you touch one,
or you put one on like I did with Mikayla
Brakes seven's middle, that means you'll then never win one.
So that is why I will never win a gold
medal at anything. It's not because of my only reason,

(38:19):
isn't it, Dame Surry? My lack of any athletic ability.

Speaker 9 (38:22):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Never say never, what would you?

Speaker 4 (38:25):
What did you think?

Speaker 5 (38:26):
Men?

Speaker 2 (38:26):
I could represent New Zealand? And therefore here this is
the most judgmental look I've ever had in my heart.

Speaker 9 (38:34):
She is scanning you very towards swimming, So I can't
that you'd be able to swim.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
Pretty good at the backstroke, pretty good now at my
international level. A lot of people say yes, No, I
don't not yet, not yet. But if I applied myself.
I think that's one of the things that people always
think when these when these events come up. So this
one's been a bit of a weird one. So Gold
Coast was supposed to have it, now it's over in Glasgow,
and I think it's it's a bit peered back, isn't
it not as many events.

Speaker 9 (39:02):
Stripped down event only ten events, so quite an unusual
common math Games. But obviously we're very successful over those
ten events, and we're partaking in all the sports as kiwis,
so that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Yeah, when you say an event like one event is athletics, right, yes, yes,
so within within the event there is a number and.

Speaker 9 (39:25):
Then obviously it's the only integrated sporting event in the
world with power athletes and able bodied athletes competing at
the same time. So it's amazing because it's.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
A huge.

Speaker 9 (39:36):
It's just huge for the recognition of the power movement too.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Yeah, of course, where does the Calm Games sit in
the in the world events for kiwis, because obviously the
Olympics would probably be the pinnacle, but then where where
does this one sit for us? This is sort of
a hard one to figure out. Yeah, that's trickier.

Speaker 9 (39:52):
I definitely say it's within the top five for sure,
and we're very successful as a Commonwealth nation anyway.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (40:01):
And then within the Commonwealth, I mean we've got world
champions from New Zealand going over right, so and then
there's world champions from Australia and Canada, and you know
the list goes on.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Well, the common Games got massively legitimized again I think
with Usain Bolt going yeah, you know, every every time,
because you know he was obviously he's the fastest man
of all time, and you forget he was from a
Commonwealth country.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
Yeah. Yeah, what about so you've joined the Sky team
for this, how's the time difference? What time are you
going to be getting up? Are you prepared for that?

Speaker 9 (40:34):
I don't think anything can prepare you for a three
thirty way cup. I'm at a four o'clock caller. I mean,
you guys know about it, but yeah, me not being
used to it, It's going to be tricky for ten days,
but I'm looking.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
Forward to it.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
But you're a dame, so surely like a number of
ladies in waiting come in and swirl around you sort
of like Cinderella and dress you and give you coffee
and things like that. Right, isn't that what happens.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
When you gotcha?

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Hope?

Speaker 9 (40:58):
So I'll find out Friday morning.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
I have a question about Dame hood. You don't get
the sword thing, do you? When when you get damed?
Is that what you caught?

Speaker 9 (41:08):
No, you get tapped on the shoulder by what just
a hand? No, by the governor general y. Yeah, right,
so yes, the men get the swords, yes, and the females.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Get there what the sword? Wouldn't you?

Speaker 4 (41:23):
Are you looking forward to the sword? And was it
a surprise?

Speaker 9 (41:26):
No, you're given all the details before you're going right, Yeah,
have it done?

Speaker 2 (41:30):
And yeah, it's amazing. I suppose that's why I've never
ended one.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
But so I've got a question about these coming off games.
So the apparently there's no athletic village, so they're just
using hotels. But there's a lot of people going to Glasgow.
And I've been to Glasgow. It's a decent sized city,
similar size to Auckland. I would say it was mostly
like backpackers. Yeah, so I mean is there going to

(41:54):
be is it like a sports exchange? Will there be billeting?

Speaker 7 (41:58):
Think?

Speaker 9 (41:59):
So, there's a bunch of hope towels that have obviously
taken in the different groups of sports. The sports are grouped.

Speaker 4 (42:06):
All the swimmers are at the overtower or whatever. Yeah, yeah, right.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Pool, they'll put them.

Speaker 9 (42:15):
Yeah, it's quite an unusual because the athlete village is
it's it's a massive part of obviously the games. But
if you kind of think, well, at the end of
the day, the games are still being hosted. That's the
main thing that these athletes can compete. They have part
of their cycle through to the Olympic and Paralympic Games
and you know, if they have to stay in you know, hotels,

(42:38):
then you know, I mean they're still withinside their groups,
which is the main thing.

Speaker 4 (42:42):
It does beg the question where do the spectators stay
if they want to go to the game.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Maybe they're going to have to get billitted. So who
are medical medical? Who are medical contenders?

Speaker 3 (42:52):
Now?

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Who are medical contenders? So we've got Hamish Kurz or
Hobbs over the Erica Fairweather and Lewis Clarebirt in the
pool as well.

Speaker 9 (42:59):
Yeah, Josh Wellmer in the pool. He's going to try
and retain his gold meal from Birmingham. Look, the bowlers
we've got a massive going and power and able bodied group.
And I actually the other day when End interviewed the
Power Bowl team, do you know how incredible they are?
Like bowling blind? It is and I am just so

(43:22):
in awe of skill?

Speaker 4 (43:24):
So how does that work? Does somebody sort of describe
the situation to them?

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (43:29):
So they have a director which obviously tells them where
the jackers and what line they should take.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
Do they ever just tell them they did it when
they're Actually I've been bowling blind before blind.

Speaker 9 (43:44):
I think a sport I feel like I could come
back And I was going to ask you.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
About that, actually, yeah, because there's the sort of the
sports that you can play further into your life, right.
Bowls is one of those. Shooting I think is one.
I don't know if that's part of this come games. No,
No it's not, but it's been. It's often in the Olympics,
isn't it that I asked this because these are my

(44:08):
only options left.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
It's anything that doesn't involve running.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
Yeah, basically jumping. But bowls is great because it's only
in the Common Mouth Games, not in the Olympics. One
of the few sports.

Speaker 9 (44:19):
Yeah, Yes, and we've got a very successful team.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
It's yeah.

Speaker 9 (44:23):
Well, and we've got our eldest athlete too within the
and the bowls team. Oh really, so you know it
said there's a long GBD sport.

Speaker 4 (44:30):
Yes, yeah, I've got high hope. Yes, that's right.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
So the Commonwealth coverage kicks off overnight. I believe Friday
is our first event, is that right? Friday morning? Good
luck at the early morning's Dan, Sophie, enjoy it. I
know we'll all be churning in. Thanks very much for
coming in.

Speaker 5 (44:46):
Jerry and Mini, the hold I keep breakfast play.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
That's academic. We're going to ask you five questions. Gets free,
right to win a one hundred dollars bunnings vouched this morning.
Get your school's name inchestant to the vaunted. It's academic
roll of honor. We will go to whoever has the
most background car noise on the line. And it is blear,
good morning, blear, How are you going? Good? Good? Thank you?
You work in logistics? Yeah that.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
Sounded. Let you do something much more the.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Furious Are we calling it logistics these days?

Speaker 4 (45:17):
Are we blae a.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Little bit of important export? You know? Okay, you're a smuggler.
I see all right, blieve the drug smuggler from pop.
What school will you be representing this morning? Sacred Heart College.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
In in Auckland There in Aakland.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
He's a lot of alumni from there. If they don't
say what if they just say the suburb of the school,
and they always always Auckland. It's like our Americans tell
you the state that they're from. Yeah. Any famous alumni
you're aware of, blear, Dave Yete Brothers. Yeah, some pain

(45:59):
it's Petrick Yeah, uh.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
Yeah, that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Knocking on the head. All right, you know how this works? Three?
I think what no deal? Worth?

Speaker 3 (46:12):
I thought he just yeah, I thought he jumped ship
at some point. I don't know why you'd leave Delworth's
perfect school.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
But reason Blair from Sacred Heart College. Five questions get through? Right?
You want one hundred dollars Bunnings voucher. It's as easy
as that. Are you ready to rip into it? Let's go,
here we go Blair.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
Ted Danson played Sam Malone in what popular TV sitcom Cheers?

Speaker 2 (46:38):
Correct? And What Country?

Speaker 3 (46:40):
With the twenty twenty two Commonwealth Games held What country England?

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (46:46):
Mark Carney is the current Prime Minister of what country?

Speaker 5 (46:50):
Canada.

Speaker 4 (46:51):
Correct, he's got him three from three.

Speaker 3 (46:54):
I'll do the other two just to see how if
you can, if you can ace it, which we've had
the debut album Hot Fuzz So Hot Fuss in twenty twelve.

Speaker 5 (47:06):
Oh oh, should I do know that one?

Speaker 2 (47:11):
No? No, are you page? Are you doing just for me? Nah?

Speaker 3 (47:16):
That's that's the Killers that Yeah, and the capital of
Thailand somewhere. You've probably been a bit Bangkok.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
Yeah, four five, congratulations, I've got a couple of containers
coming in from there. Actually, Jerry in the night the
hold breakfast to me if you've heard this one, but
about five to six men in their oh, sort of
mid to late thirties through until about the mid to
late fifties all set around on an office yesterday and

(47:45):
just put on their favorite mashups on YouTube. Yeah, it
was really really fun. Stone Cold's over at ten o'clock
in the morning. This is usually something reserved for like boys,
golf trip. Yeah, you know, night two, Energy's dwindling. One
of the boys already gone to bed. Chuck.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Your favorite YouTube mashups.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Beg Sandy's who listens to a lot of music, Yes,
you know, runs a basically a music show he's here
on Radio Hadaki.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
She was right into it.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
Oh my god. It's just one of those things. And
I don't know why. And evidently it is universal because
people have been texting in and on three four eight
three their favorite mashups as well. I don't know what
it is about taking two songs the best ones are
when they shouldn't be together at all, and then their
work of course, and for some reason, it just it
just has. Now. This is not a new phenomenon. This

(48:30):
is something that probably hit the internet ten to fifteen
years ago.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
But well, this one that I'm about to introduce actually
came out this year. This is by two.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
Covers artists I would call them on social media. One's
a guy called mcglocky. It's I think I think that's
just one word, okay mcglocky, Scottish mac Glockie of course.
And the other guys are very handsome men called Anthony
Vincent and yeah, no, very annoying. But they do really
good impressions of well known artists and a lot of

(49:02):
which we feature here on Radio Hedach.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
So they do covers of songs that you know, but
in the style of a different band.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
Is that that's right, so they might do you know,
don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me? In
the style of Nirvana? Yeah right, yeah, so this was
This is a colare between the two of them, which
is not usual, but this is they've come together for
this one, and this is Miley Cyrus wrecking ball, right, yes,

(49:30):
And this is how we got onto this because it's
right up your ali and in the style of Lincoln Park.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
Yep, yep, that works for me. That works me. I
said this yesterday when you played one of these. I
haven't listened to Lincoln Park and probably about a year
or so since the concert. Oh, actually yeah, probably since
the concert. Yeah right, I've now relapsed. You've basically given
a beer to an alcoholic and I'm full blonde the
whole drive home last night yesterday morning.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
Like, this is just a legitimately good song, because if
this just came out, you had no idea that Mirley
Cyrus or or even Lincoln Park.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
Yes, this is this is slaps Is he giving it
a bit of motion? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (50:19):
The sky now comment down.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
The production is perfect.

Speaker 7 (50:27):
That sounds a lot like.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
You pushed her to the chorus and we got it.
It's so good.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
It's just text her on three birthday. That actually sounds good. Yeah,
genuinely sounds good. I know it does. It does sound
like look your park as well. The other one that
we're listening to yesterday. I've straight off the back of
this immediately you and I've got a doozy for you,
a mash up of two songs you would never think
to put together.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Now, these aren't covers. These uh, this is a ramix,
you know this is These are the original artists, and
this is Vanissa Carlton and raging against the machine. And
I think we played out in its entirety. Well, we
might have to cut it off before the very infra. Yeah, certain,
do you say reasons?

Speaker 11 (51:18):
Some of those that were forces want to save that
bar crosses. Some of those that were forces on the
save that bar crosses. Some of those that were forces
on the scene that bar crosses. Some of those that
were forces trying to save that.

Speaker 2 (51:39):
Do what the torture?

Speaker 5 (51:41):
Let me do what the torture.

Speaker 6 (51:44):
To what the child.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
It's also died.

Speaker 11 (51:49):
Just no fine, but we right the beds, trusted life.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Just the fine, both died, but we right the beds
and that trusts in life. I'm also died.

Speaker 5 (51:59):
I'm just not.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
This has divided opinion on the text site Yuck Keller
so good. I've lost it.

Speaker 4 (52:17):
It just spends too well. It's an unholy marriage, which
I'm going to take as a good thing.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
Yes, I'm into it. Later on around the F bomb
part of the song they throwing are real good.

Speaker 4 (52:34):
Just completely random, completely different artists.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Y bro, all right, keep your text coming through three four,
way through there anymore that that's sticking your crawl anything
that you want to share with us. I think that
we're going to take this one online. Check in online,
check the YouTube links up online. Yeah, it'll get your
after party sort of. This weekend, He's Lightning Crashes.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
Jerry and Midnight, the Darchy Breakfast.

Speaker 9 (53:03):
Kerry and man I joined the complay the Hadarky Breakfast
discussion group on Facebook for more.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
We're talking mashups. We just played the Vanessa Carlton Rage
against the Machine mashup. It's absolutely incredible. We'll have to
chuck the lonk up on social so you can go
and cute this one up. But if you listen towards
the end of it, we can't play it because there's
a few f bombs at the end of the song.
But there's a real hearty right at the end of it.

(53:31):
Obviously not part of a raging East the Machine song
or Vanessa Carlton or Vanessa Carlton. Indeed, it is obviously
Down with the Sickness disturbed And as soon as that,
I mean, that creased me when it played at the
end of this song and then it just set off.
I don't know what it is. The domino started falling
and everyone was wah.

Speaker 4 (53:51):
Struck me as.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
Someone who would attempt Down with the Sickness as a
karaoke song. My I.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
No, yes, I do, I do, but I don't do
it because my my long held stance on carry out gears.
It's not about you. You need something everyone concern and
that's not Yes, it's a participatory thing. It's not a
performance for me. But so no, I don't do that.
But I feel like that is a real I saw

(54:18):
there was a meme going around of a guy who
put it on his tender profile was like, I never like,
you know, the first question that you asked a prospective
partner's just give me a and then that immediately.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
Yeah, that would separate the week from the chair.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
But a first date. It's a strange place to like.

Speaker 4 (54:35):
So what you meet at a bar? She walks and
sit down? Great to me, Great to me?

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Could you just give me yours? I gotta be honest,
I don't. I'm not bad at it. That's a very
you are. I'm very bad at it. Yeah. What's the
what's the most inappropriate spot to drop an during? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (55:05):
Yeah, just in the middle of the song as it's
fading out.

Speaker 2 (55:11):
I reckon vows if you're wedding vows if you're Yeah,
so you know from the from the moment I saw her,
I knew that she was the one for me.

Speaker 4 (55:20):
Oh, I believe eulogy as well, during everybody singing Happy Birthday,
Happy birthday to you.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
Actually that would roll, Yeah, that would be second. That
actually might be my new party piece. In the middle
of Happy Birthday, just dropping all Texas and three four
eight three most inappropriate time to drop in or if
you want to call it and give us one go
hard as well.

Speaker 5 (55:48):
Jerry and the Night, the hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
What is denner Alive? I hear you say. Dinner Alive
is a game where we named five well known people.
All you have to do is tell us whether they
are dead or alive. It was devised by veteran TV
and ZID camera operated Dave Peace in the way to
interview lou Vincent up in North Anddi has recently sold
that place. Vincent, not Dave Peace. There is one hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (56:13):

Speaker 2 (56:18):

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Can you give us a hong on the horn? Here? Yeah?
Hear it with such a little boys. Hi, Lisa, I no,
what is it?

Speaker 8 (56:55):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (56:55):
It's one of the new okay?

Speaker 2 (56:57):
Is it or a truck? Right? Okay? Your buzz is
going to be your name, Lisa. We're not going to
make your honk the horn this whole time. Give it
a hone now, sure? All right, we'll use the Andrew
the Auckland mechanic. Good morning, Andrew, you're not in a
car right now, are you? Yeah? Yeah? I am? How
you doing? Yeah? Good? Thanks mate? You couldn't give us

(57:18):
a hon on your horn, could you? Okay? Can you
tell those apart? Early?

Speaker 4 (57:24):
Go go again, Andrew, go again?

Speaker 2 (57:27):
Lisa, Lisa's got two tones there? Yeah, all right, your
buzzes this morning? Oh my god, Yes, we're doing it.
Are going to be your horns? Oh god?

Speaker 4 (57:41):
Who's higher pitched? Lisa? Lisa's Okay, there's a good idea.
I think this is a terrible idea.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Try for one.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
All right, now we'll give it to Okay, here we go,
So you guys are ready with your horns? Yeah, okay,
standing blind?

Speaker 2 (57:58):
Did or alive?

Speaker 3 (58:00):
Hollywood icon singer and animal rights activists Doris Day dead
are alive?

Speaker 2 (58:09):
I think that was Andrew. I'm going to go with
dead dead? Is Chret.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
Dead in twenty nineteen, age ninety seven?

Speaker 2 (58:21):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 4 (58:24):
Lead singer of the Black Crows Chris Robinson dead or alive?

Speaker 2 (58:28):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (58:29):
I know who was that?

Speaker 5 (58:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
I think that was nothing. Yeah, I'm going to say
alive alive? Oh god. Now it's going to be close.
And we've done done the last.

Speaker 7 (58:45):
We've comed to the.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
Worn situation a.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
Singer with a massive range actor born as Marvin Day
meat Loaf.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
Is he dead?

Speaker 4 (59:00):
I think, Lisa, because she does the double pump? Me?

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Sure?

Speaker 7 (59:05):
I reckon, that's Andrew Andrew?

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Did you double pump?

Speaker 5 (59:08):
Double pump?

Speaker 2 (59:10):
Okay, okay, we're going to go Andrew. What did he
talk of? It's being messed?

Speaker 4 (59:17):
Okay, right, so what are.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
We up to? The two one in favor of Andrew.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Started movies such as Hunt for the Wilder People, the
piano in Jurassic Park.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Is I think it was Andrew Andrew's double pumping, isn't he?

Speaker 10 (59:33):
I think?

Speaker 9 (59:35):
Come on, that was clearly me. I thought it was me.

Speaker 2 (59:41):
Hey, hey, he might get it wrong. Andrew sam Nils
sadly too.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
Soon, absolutely very tragically died last week.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
And that's that's all she wrote. Three one Sorry, Lisa,
hard done by? I think it was I think, yeah,
I think it was the horn thing. I think that
was a terrible idea from you.

Speaker 7 (01:00:06):
You're out, don't come back to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Yeah? Sorry, give us have another correct Congratulations Andrew Weller.

Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
And Jerry and Midnight the Breakfast.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
So Dame Sophie Pasco was in here before She's doing
some of the common Tree and fronting the Commonwealth Games.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
It's upcoming.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
The Commonwealth Games is peered back this year because whatever
city was hosting it didn't want it anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I think was it Melbourne, well, because we thought it
was Gold Coast, but I think it's Melbourne.

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Okay, right, and so they didn't want it too expensive,
not enough people watching, whatever, right. So I think it
needs a revamp the Commonwealth Games because I used to
love it when I was a kid.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
I used to think when I was a kid that
it was on par with the Olympics. And as I
got older, I realized that we only thought that we
love it in this country, and Ossies love it as
well because the Russians, the Chinese and the Americans are
in it. So we've got a real good chance.

Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
We usually we were sort of in the top five
on the medal table generally.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
And not just per capita, no, but still a long
way back from Australia. They really are zero and.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
They are the America of the Commonwealth. So what we
need is a revent for the Commonwealth Games. I think
this we need more sports because there's one sport that's
in the common Games and not in the Olympics, and
that's bowls, which is great, great viewing in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
That it is a good sport to watch. It is.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
So I think we need more and I think we
need to go We need to think outside the box.
So a lot of there are a lot of throwing sports,
or as I call them, chucking sports.

Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
Too many in the athletics.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
Too many.

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
I don't think too many, you don't know. I think
we need to have it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
We need to have a multi discipline chucking event called
the Chuck airthlone. Okay, right now, How it works is
it's a head to hit. So two competed, it is right.
They compete in six disciplines, either raw of chucking shit.
I've chucking particular stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
So you flip a coin before each round the six
rounds and you and you have either raw. Okay, so
the first one right, So say it's you versus me
and I. We flip a coin and you get to
choose you wins. You get yep, it's heads, and you
get to choose either frisbee or vortex Megahalla.

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Okay, I'm going Vortex megahellas throwing it to Dan Carter
on a beach. Okay, great, and it's one. It's one.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
It's like the you know, jabblin of shot that it's
is wherever it hits the ground first, not wherever it
ends at.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Yep. Okay, so that's fine. And I forgot with the frisbee,
so you then get whatever I didn't pick.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
That's right. Yeah, okay, so that's round one.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Frisbee is one of those confusing ones. For me, I've
never known which handed I'm not. I don't consider myself
a gummy person, but I was raised by a left
handed mother, and so for most of my childhood I
didn't know if I was left or right handed.

Speaker 4 (01:02:56):
Yeah, that would be that would be confusing.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
I can throw right handed, ye yeah, I can throw
a frisbee with both hands, but not very well.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Okay, so next one, nixt round flip a coin and
I went, and I get to choose nane or beg it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
So one's a javelin ones disc gets basic essentially, Yeah,
what are you going? Well, it depends what you're specialist,
and you see you're probably train I think i'm a
list yeah okay, yeah, all right, Next next round a
brick or a nineteen eighty cell phone.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
All the way.

Speaker 4 (01:03:34):
No one needs a brick like the motorola. Yeah, got
a charge a brack sort of thing. Yeah, brick.

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
I'm gonna oh you do I get depict this one. Yeah,
you choose this motorola. Yeah, you go for a cell
phone over a brick ninety cell phone.

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
Ye'll be interesting, wouldn't it, because it'd be more momentum
heavier with a brecker, a building brick.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
I've got years, but I've got experience. Because there's a kid.
When we were playing rugby at lunch, the teachers took
the ball off us because our uniforms wuld get ripped. Yeah,
so we back in the day we had the nock
he at twenty to eighty, which is that blue little sucker.
Yeah no, no, no, I'm talking older than that, No,
I know, but we would play rugby with that. So
I have experienced throwing phones and kicking them.

Speaker 7 (01:04:11):
Older them arena is what you're talking.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, older than me almost. So we worked
round four here. Yeah, grapefruit or grape.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
No, grapefruit, grapefruit, but unwieldier.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Grapefruit if you sort of you know, like like throwing
a cricket ball at a stumps with a grape I
reckon you get there quite far.

Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Yeah, I'm picturing a massive grapefruit. Yeah, grapefruit. Yeah, so
you can't quite palm. Well that you can parm it,
but it's not I think I can whipper grape though,
yeah right, versus you have to lob a grapefruit. Correct. Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
Second last round here is called posse or pussy. So
it's either a deid possum or a dead feral cat.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Okay, male cat, tom can. I'm presuming that's quite a
lot larger than and you know, I think this is
kind of emulating the hammer throw, So to that end,
I'm going poss I think that the poss has a
bit more of a sturdy tail. Yeah, it's probably got

(01:05:16):
a bit more water in the body. Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
A posse as opposed to.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
A win that if I won that toss on gun
and I've always said that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
And final round is wild. It's whatever you want to throw,
and you think you can throw the furthest so you
bring your specialist item, so you whatever you think that is.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
But you also get to bring whatever you think correct. Okay,
So it's not like I can't bring a lime scooter
and we both throw.

Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
It, so there's no there's no there's no coin toss
for this one. This is just whatever you have trained for.
And this could be the tiebreaker.

Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
And it could be as lame as a cricket ball,
couldn't it, because that is probably what I think I
could throw the further.

Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
It could be a javelin if you I mean javelin
in the Olympics or the Coming of Games. They go
pretty far.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
What if I show up with the drone?

Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
It has to be propelled by your own strength? Yeah, kite.
That's the Chuck Airline, and I'm posing that I'm all
in on the Chuck Airdline. I can grape over grape
free though, no.

Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
Way, I don't like grape.

Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
Jerry and the Night, The hold Ikey Breakfast, Jerry and Midnight,
The hold Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
That's enough many baby metro news. It's time for the
real stuff. Ben Hurley's Rural roundup News. You can get
it bind.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
You know when tama Ally that's a person drives through
the picturesque Cromwell Gorge with her family. There is a
game they play and its Spot the Feral Goat.

Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
We're Cromwell, Cwell.

Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
I literally drove through there on Saturday and.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
Not at all rudle me this. Did you see a
feral goat?

Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
I saw a number.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Did you tell Tamar Ellie?

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
I did not tell tama Elie their record the family,
the Ali family along the twenty three clumbitter stretch of
State Higway eight from Cromwell to Clyde is fifty seven goats.
All right, yeah, there's a few. I didn't know that Ali,
who is the mayor of the Centralotaco District Council, I
said that that was a smaller number compared to another
resident who once spotted eighty three. There are a lot

(01:07:27):
of goats, the Alexandra Bakesmere told I told this media
athlete where I stole this from the new Zeven Transport.
I didn't you, No, she didn't. Are now planning a
cup of the goat population? Oh they're so cute though,
Confirming temporary closures of state between Cromwell and the Clyde
Dam starting on Sunday between eight and eight am and

(01:07:49):
nine am for three consecutive weekends.

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Okay, a couple of issues with us. First, and how's
it when when we get to church at am? To
nine am is exactly when people in rural communities drive
to church and you're going to shut the high or
you or you're.

Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Driving home from the party that you've crashed at the
night because of New Zealand Transport Association ads say you
should do that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Yes, that's right. I'm still quite clearly drunk from the
night before. Yeah. What about if you lift the road open,
but you put someone manning it and you can only
come through if you've got a gun with you. Oh,
you pop off a few drive byke just do your part.
Of all of us, if all of us take two
out will be done by tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
It's true, we really need to employ.

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
You know those gangs from the nineties and South central
Lay they can really hit a target from a moving car.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
I don't know how good a glock goes against a
feral goat.

Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
It's a good point, but I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
I don't know. I know you would have to get
pretty close to a goat to be able to take
it down with a pistol. But you know there are
a lot around though.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
Another place I would say is up the wan going
to be River, the road that goes up the oneing
to river there are feral goats everywhere, right, Yeah, I
don't know. I'm sure they're bad. Whenever you see a
lot of an animal, you go, oh that's probably bad.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Yeah. So I don't know why Wallaby's bloody her of
the thing. We got those down in South Canterbury and
they everywhere, and that you will see the billboard sign
saying if you see one, report it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Yeah, Well you can't do that every time.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
No. Also, I'm not a snitch, but.

Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
Police are aging tourists and photographers to stay off a
popular Taranaki roadside viewpoint after a string of near misses
involving people stopping to take a photo of Mount.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Is another one that happens down south as well. Anywhere
there's like you know, the fox gloves pop up people beautiful, beautiful,
but people pull over to take a photo of it
and then just walk out onto the road.

Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Beautiful but deadly.

Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
New Plymouth Police say officers have received multiple reports of
people stopping at.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
Kent Road, one hundred kilometer in our rural.

Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Road, despite no stopping signs, unlimited visibility caused by bens
and rises, just.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Just terrifying stuff. It is they shouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
It is a really good Skeet road is another one
from from from South Tartanaki looking north roads. Get road's
a good place for a picture. And that's quite straight,
so no bends and a lot of skeet road. And
also you get you get the real Mount Fuji version
of Mount Taranaki where you don't see Phantom's peak it's behind.

Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
It looks like a perfect cone.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
You get that one day of the year and then
the rest of you cannot see it.

Speaker 4 (01:10:21):
Yeah, because of the clouds.

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
I've never seen Mount Taranaki in the flesh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
No, but you do love a perfect cone, as I understand.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
I do love a perfectly packed cone.

Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
Can I?

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Can I throw one other piece of rural adjacent news
so as you know, the h one in one or
whatever it's called. The bird flu bird flu has been
detected in birds washing up on our shore seabirds and
now for the first time a land dwelling bird has
been diagnosed with it. They found the carcass and had it.
So now all of the chicken farmers are having to

(01:10:53):
bring all of their chicks indoors lest the pigeon brings
bird flow rights their entire flock out. They are calling
it you'll love this as a as a working comedian.
Ben Hurley flock down. I mean it's not bad as
it it's not bad.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
I think that deserves it.

Speaker 5 (01:11:12):
Jerry and Night, the Htiarchy Breakfast till He's last day
with us.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
As you've been winded throughout the show from Yeah, really
really put a full stop on this. Yeah. It was
like so that if they ever go back to the audio,
they could be like, see that invoice he sent the
Thursday and Friday, we don't have to pay it. I
know we tend not to try and get too political
on this show, but at the moment it feels like

(01:11:39):
the world of politics has just gone into the upside down.
I think obviously Americans, there's been face going on over
in the UK, but one of my favorites closer to
home is Australian politics. It is absolute madness. You remember
all of the Bob Cattter quotes that were getting around
for a bit. There's the one about him saying that

(01:12:00):
you know, lit a thousand blossoms bloom as far as
he's concerned with regard to the rainbow community. But he
won't spend any more time on it because meanwhile, a
person's getting torn apart by crocodile in the Northern Territory
every couple of days.

Speaker 4 (01:12:11):
It's the change up from Ketta, isn't it that?

Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
Really?

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
It's quite jarring.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Zero to one hundred. Yeah. He reminds me of the
Australian guy that interviewed about the dogs that got out
and they come bounding across that. Oh.

Speaker 4 (01:12:24):
I literally thought that it was the same person.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
No, I don't think that's not Bob. A different person.
That's not Bob Ketta. I'll tell you what it is.
Bob Ketter is when someone asked him about his Lebanese
heritage and he said, oh, make don't say that, because
I punched blokes in the face for that. Ye. Yeah,
that's weird, brilliant. So another one who's popped off recently
is our man Barnaby Joyce, who shout out to Yeah,
your mate, Barnaby Joyce, your mate and cousin of a

(01:12:50):
long term listener to the show. I believe his name
is Edward Joyce, who text us in this morning and said,
you know, that's actually my cousin any relation to Stephen Joyce.
I wonder if he is too in the face. Stephen Joyce. Yes, yes,
this is a TENUUS stretch link here, but my mate
used to go out with the girl who through the Yeah,

(01:13:11):
Stephen Joyce, who's now I think technically our boss here
at this company. Anyway, it's not let's not untangled those headphones.
But I this one's come across the disc You would
have seen that. It's doing the rounds on social media.
It's Barnaby Joyce, who was on Breakfast TV over there
in Australia used today when he dropped this.

Speaker 8 (01:13:29):
Your decision to defect to one nation is dragging you
further into a place of intolerance and racial discrimination. You're
defending your leader, but are you really comfortable with where
she is taking you?

Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
The I think.

Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
Sorry, it's a dog.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
The dog. The best part is the explainer. Sorry, oh
that's a dot.

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
Yeah, if you have to clarify, you know, there's probably
more suspicions about your behavior around you.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Yes, what do you think that dog was doing for
him to have that response? Because he's in the middle
of a TV interview. The dog's not in frame, so
he could have easily just ignored whatever the dog was doing.

Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
You couldn't hear the door, wasn't barking. No, you know,
it sounds like a leg hump to me.

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
League Hunt ready, You've got a couple of dogs. What
would it take for your What would your dog have
to be doing for you?

Speaker 4 (01:14:18):
The yell get set out?

Speaker 6 (01:14:20):
Just getting into something that it's not supposed to maybe
but it was outside, so it wouldn't be getting into
a bin or jumping. Because I've got a nine and
eleven year old and their friends a no no child
and they seem to have friends that really aggressively knock
on our door, and then our dog goes crazy and
then she gets a set out. It's actually it's actually

(01:14:41):
more coming, have a treat, coming, have a treat. Please
shut up, you don't embarrass me.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
