Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Hurdarchey Breakfast, Get set for winter with Bunning's trade.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Good you breakfast with Jerry and manaia.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Your money walking along to the hurdache Breakfast. Monday, the
eighth of June and the year of our Lord twenty
twenty six. My name's Jimmy.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Well, this is my nice Stewart morning. That's how we
are going this morning. Have you Monday?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Good? How are you going?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Good?

Speaker 5 (00:19):
Good, better than Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I got a bit more juice in the tank and
a bit more to give, although I haven't seen anything
over the weekend, so I know what's going on.

Speaker 5 (00:27):
Did a train come off the.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Tracks so I happened.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I think we're going to talk about that a little
bit later on. There was one thing which saved that
train from careering its way into someone's house. Waking up
to a train coming through your house, do on that?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
No, I don't want that.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Those suckers, man, when they get momentum we're possible, they
keep going, we're possible.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
You do not want to train come into your house.
And I've always said that, and that's why I think
it's I think that's why we need to keep the
number of trains down here in this country.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
No, I think that's the thing that that's the least
thing you want coming into us. I mean, a bird
is annoying, yeah, rat, A rat's annoying, a truck off
our car, sure, but train it's playing probably the worst.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, playing probably the worst, although that's instant death for
all involved. I think the issue with the train is
the amount of people that are now inside your house
with no warning. You know what I mean. You probably
haven't cleaned up the places been an absolute state, Like
what now, I've got to cater for all of you
guys's one hundred years. I don't have enough food for that.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I see what you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
It's an absolute nightmare.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I think I'd rather go meteor than yep. I'll talk
about that a little later on working.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Along Jerry and Mini the hod Ikey Breakfast.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
How the black Caps go overnight?

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Any good? Let's just say they performed the same as
they've been performing for the rest of.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
That Test match.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Three days yeah, four days to.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
One rained off. Yeah, what a disaster of a Test
match that was. I'm looking at the ending scores here,
twenty six for England. I'm not just going to read
numbers or promise England one hundred and thirteen and one
hundred and thirty Astro in New Zealand. What what's going on?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
A really really spicy pitch that moved sideways is one thing,
but also went up and down, so last it went sideways.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Then on top of that pile on the fact that
Lords is on an angle, so it is something like
six feet from one end of the field.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
To the other one hundred and fifty tests at Lord's
in the last one hundred and fifty tests, no one's
chased more than two hundred and forty to win in
the final means.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
So I heard a theory over the weekend that from
my brother in laws. To take it with a grain
of salt, but he was saying that basically they've known
for a number of years now, probably about a decade
that they need a new pitch in there, but they
don't do the drop in pictures because it's Lords, you know,
the Homer cricket. You can't have artificial pitchers in there,
and so they've got the same pitch in there. But
also their schedule is set so far in advance they

(02:54):
don't have a window and they haven't had one for
over a decade to change the pitch, if you know
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
So?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, so they basically pinned down. I mean, isn't It's
so funny that despite the fact that Lord's is the
home of cricket, you know, multimillion dollar venue, they still
pined down by the same issues that most workplaces have.
It's like, yeah, I know we need new headphones, but god,
I'm gonta do a show right now, so let's just
go and we'll get around to it.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I've read a lot of stuff over the weekend about
what's going wrong with Lords and what the problem has been,
because the interesting thing that what they're saying now is
that Lords is like everything about Lords is beautiful. The detail,
every detail is apart from the pitch. Yeah, so like
the pitch is the worst pitch in England, and then
everything else is absolutely amazing, Yes, greatful end of old
and new and yeah, and they're trying weird things like

(03:41):
steaming the pitch steam it.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
What does that The turns out it just has a
make it. Wouldn't that make it way softer than that?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Such?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
So then the other thing that was happening is because
it's on an angle, so it's on a slope down
and then it also wasn't bouncing in parts. So you've
got a guy like Tongues bowling like one fifty, so
he's coming and bowling downhill at one fifty and it
doesn't bounce.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
But what are you supposed to do about that?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I know it makes the game spicy, but again, if
your tickets for day four or five, you've been you know,
distrates well.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I would say also that did New Zealand go into
this game prepared just to try and score like two
hundred and just go, okay, how can we get two hundred?
What do on this? Personally? A couple of two hundreds
is going to win.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
This game easily won the game.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Do you reckon or do you think they went in
and went how can we post three hundred and fifty?
Like I'd like to know the psychology because if you
go into the game thinking we just need to survive
for fifty overs somehow and eke out like one hundred
and sixty hundred seventy runs and that's going to be
kind of competitive.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I don't know what they have known that. Yeah, I
don't know. I wonder The other interesting part is that know,
neither of any of the four inning's got much beyond
fifty overs, So it's like there's basically two odiis that.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Got played out there.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Then the other thing. And look, I know we've benefited
from this, so what I'm about to say you should
take with a grain of salt. But if it happened
against us, would be fuming. If you score a hundred
or you take a five foot with the ball, you
get your name eached into the much wanted its academic
role of honor at at Lord's and we got two.
Jamison and Nathan Smith both got on there in this

(05:18):
Test match. If they look, I think, great, well deserved
they should be out there. If that was against us,
i'd want an asterisk. Besides that is because of the
way that pitch was playing.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I mean certainly there was no hundreds being scored with it. No,
there's a couple of fifties anywhere, but no hundreds.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
It's a great yeah it was.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
You know what. It's the thing about cricket is it's
got to be a contest between bat and ball. If
it's just bat that dominates, its boring, twenty bloody boring.
If it's just if it's ball, like this one, that's
too much. Yeah, it's also silly, and a lot of.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
The ashes over the summer as well was.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Like this becomes silly. So they've got to kind of
get that a little bit. You'd think that they could
get there right now. I know that in England there's
a lot of chet don't worry, they will be crapping
on about this the whole time.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
NASA, who say, and Obama's going crazy about it. He's
gone off his rockets.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
So they go to they've got a ten day break
now and on the person massively in London. It's going
to be great and they get to go and hang out.
Great practice facilities over there. You can get anything you want,
whenever you want. It's a lot of fun sort of
heard and great restaurants and quite cheap, great clubs, clubs,
crazy clubs, and you can day trip to the Cotswolves,

(06:25):
et cetera. Fantastic and over and then if playing it the.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Oval, Yeah, hopefully a few more runs of that one,
all right, should we draw a line under punishing cricket chat.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Chat for the rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Put the wow for the next ten days.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
They've got to be in the sports headlines guys, we'll overright.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Que and the rack on the cricket chat.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Can we just have a short headline. We lost the
cricket badly. It's still about rats. Next, it's I want
to do it rats.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Jerry Edmond and I hold I keep breakfast.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Down at a wedding over the weekend. Gentlemen, Congratulations lovely
Fabian and Eden, I've got hitch down in there, and
christ it's nice winter winning with the held out for
us on the day as well, great little Vinyard and
I've forgotten exactly where it was.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Two hot names, Fabian and yeah, wow, tremendous gave a
good account of themselves. Talk about sixty names, womb.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
But yeah, now we need to be careful to treat
careful because these are two betrothed people as of as
of Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Well exactly do we know what happened the next couple
of days.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
I've got my theories. Yeah, I've got my theories, and
I discussed them with the brother of the Grome at length.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Okay, good.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
He may have gone a step too far and actually
written them down in the wedding reception book. His best
wishes may have been a little too specific.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
I've never heard of anyone doing that before, neither of
I have writing down exactly what you would like to
happen over these couple of in the wedding. Of course
you should write that in the wedding book. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
Well, and it's his brother.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
You know, he was overcome with joy and just had
a couple of words of advice for him on his
on his wedding evening.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I've never written in a wedding book, I realized.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Neither of.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
I've never when I'm at a wedding that the last
thing i feel like doing is writing something in a book, and.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I dot never know what to write either, you know
what I mean, So that me and the message generally
we draw a picture. We sit down with the pen
and paper, and the chows the most lite. I think
it was a dragon fighting a unicorn at the last
wedding that we had. She she did a unicorn.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Did we ever doing the speeches? And you just sketch away, just.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Sit there and scribble away. Wow, it's just something to do.
She's quite nice thirty past time. But well, the other
issue with that is often that you know you're pretty
hosed by the time it comes around to writing in
that book, so you're like, God, I'm going to write
you overthink it or you underthink it, and then you
read it the next day, like probably wouldn't have written
that if I was in a different state of mine.
That's in this inance the first time we've ever been

(08:56):
to a dry wedding. There was no alcohol at this wedding.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
That was just a preference from the bride and groom.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
It's a dry wedding.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
And my initial response was, who is who is Monica
is at a wedding with no alcohol?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
That you've been known to drink a wedding bar dry.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I have. It's often my goal when they say, look,
don't worry, we've counted for ever. I don't think you have.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
You're only ever at two. In my experience of you
at a wedding, which is limited, but still there is
some experience. You're either parked up at the bar leaning on.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
It, yeah, just getting from the other side.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Drink, or you're parked up behind a mic at a
karaoke situation. Yes, those are the two places that you'll find.
That's a nice Stewart.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
And the other part of my wedding repertoire is that
I often I hate. I don't want to be settled
with any edmund on the day. If you know what
I mean, I'm going to forget and I feel like
it's too much stress to put on me. Now, what
I will do is if the DJ falls over, I
will run the music and when the dance floor starts,
I'll be the first one in there. So those I
feel like my roles at a wedding important role. Everybody

(10:01):
has their role reserve DJ and yeah, back up DJ.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
Every wedding needs one, every wedding needs one.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
And if there's nothing doing, I will get the microphone
and sing angels.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Is there a DJ in the house? Yes, we were like,
is there a house? You're like, But I can step
up here. I haven't passed the bar, I've done my
basic DJ certificate.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
I can't mix songs, and I don't know how the
like the wheels of steels stress me out. But give
me on the Spotify. I'll get this thing cranking, all right,
give me the microphone. I'll have away home too, Or
at least I thought until this weekend when I realized
that my DJ, my my reserve DJing, and my Robbie
williamsing and my dance floor starting days. I don't know

(10:43):
my days behind me, but it's certainly alcohol field. I
just don't have the stamina to run the dance floor
sober for longer than about ten minutes. Okay, you know
what I mean. You catch a glimpse of your reflection
stone cold, sober on the dance floor for for half
a second year. Alright, alright, time to sit down.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Jury in the night the breakfast.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Apparently, being married might improve your health, which is something
that we need to think about, man, because neither of
us are married.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Yeah, unwird, unwird. Rudy here married twice.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
He reckons the health improvements are so good with marriage,
and he's done it twice and.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Again he recommends doing it twice.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
So the more you get married, Actually we'll look into
this a little later on in the show. The more
you get married, are there more improvements? So like people
who are married to say three or four times, yeah,
are they seeing massive health benefits? Well?

Speaker 6 (11:37):
I guess the other thing that I found as well
is that if you are married and then maybe you
have a little break and then you come back together
the second time round with that first person better than
the first.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Element always said, what are the benefits that reckon.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Your heart disease? You can get heart disease?

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Oh great, perfect, Well, what's easier to get heart disease
if you're married?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
No, Interestingly, people who are married have a lower incidence
of cardiovascular disease also known as heart disease, including heart attack, stroke,
and death from heart disease compared to those who are married.
So or those are the divorced or widowed. Really, yeah,
I think it's that got something to do with the
fact that you're with someone and you're you're getting basically,

(12:27):
you're you're more likely to be at home having home
cocked meals.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah, you know, And well, if you've ever been around
to a bachelor's house, you know the fridge is not
in a good state.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
You know, there will be a couple of.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Condiments left over from the last time they cook from
another person, half a bottle.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Of milk, and like six bears and eight bachelor's handbags.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Eight in various states of decay.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, apparently meant there are mental health benefits as well.
So a fulfilling marriage apparently can positively impact mental health
through companionship.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Okay, yes, but a little caveat there. I did notice
they put a qualifier at the start. They're a fulfilling
marriage has benefits mental help, I think the best. Some
out there are like, yeah, but what if it's not fulfilling.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Well, apparently it's also emotional financial support, so it increases
feelings of stability. Yeah, and building a life with someone
that you love, so you feel like you're in a team,
you're working towards something with someone.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Definitely the financial part, though, I would say, like, yes,
the marriage, you're pulling your resources and it is way
cheaper when you do it that way. They call it
a singles tax out there. If you're living by yourself
on one income, it's actually much more expensive than if
you can pull your resources. That's true of a marriage.
A wedding, though, I think, is a different thing that
is financially ruinous.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Also cancers, So, according to a twenty twenty six study,
being married is linked to a lower risk of cancer.
Really yep, So apparently marriage itself doesn't directly prevent cancer,
but it appears to have an effect on so sure behavioral, reproductive,
and healthcare related factors.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yeah. Okay, So a couple of texts coming through notably. Notably,
both these texts coming through from women Men's health improves, Sure,
women's health doesn't. The words improve that marriage are and
then another one from bex Here in a hetero marriage?
What they do they mean for the man or the woman?
Because I think it differs. How do you feel ruder
as a as a twice married man, You're feeling pretty healthy.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
I don't think I've ever felt so healthy in my life.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Yeah, did you got a third there?

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Did I get you?

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Feel that you should try one?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Jerry?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
It's been twenty years, mat.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Jerry and Midnight, The Huriarchy Breakfast, Jeremy Wells and the
Nie Stuart the Hdarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
First round of Super Rugby Playoffs is done and dusted,
and you'd have to say all three games went as
you would expect. The Hurricanes putting on a clinic. Was
it actually a clinic sexual health clinic or what sort
of clinic was it? Against the Brumbies, the Chiefs taking
out the Reds, Chrusader's staying unbeaten it to kaha meaning
the Blues are the lucky lucky loser, so they somehow

(15:12):
get through to the semi final. Talk us through those
games and what to expect in the cities. Disgrace for
my Heartland. Here he is Joe Wheeler.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Well Tilly was the Disgrace and your Blues, Jerry, the
last the last four weeks, mate, they have conceded. I
think it's like one hundred and ninety five points. The
only team that's had a worse points to Frichual is
MAA Pacificate. So I think you need to start changing

(15:41):
their name to the Disgraced Blues and I can just
be Joey Wheeler.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Joey Weller. You you wait, mate, they have just been
the Foxing. They're singing. They're just taking it easy because
they don't they know they're going to get thrown. That's true.
Look at them, that's true.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Are you serious, Jerry. They're going to go down to
Wellington and take down the heretics, the Hurricane.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Dear you watch out fit in this situation of blue,
they'll be like bare Foxing. They come out and they're
going to put twenty thirty points on the note.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
It's a great point you raised, Joey. They do have
the second worst track record in the last few weeks,
behind one pacificause.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
I reckon they should fold the club.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
I reckon. They should shut it down, shut the Blues down.
They've done their dash.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
That's over, how bloody dear you you wait, you wait?

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I mean I said that's six bucks and the Hurricanes.
Oh no, well, what about what about the other game?
We've got the Cheese versus the Crusaders coming up this weekend.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
That will be an absolute doozey. I'll tell you what.
Here's always we say it all the time on here,
those bloody Crusaders, your Crusaders den I At this time
of the year, they just seem to come into a
right veiniform and they're doing it again. The only concern
I have for them as their injury toll, especially upfront.
They've lost a lot of experience in terms of their

(17:05):
front rowers and they're tight five. So that's going to
be an area that the Chiefs will go to. The Chiefs.
I feel they are peaking at the right time of
the year as well, probably in the last previous years,
as they've tripped up when it's come in the last
three years on the final hurdle. They seem to have
come out of the blocks in the season white hot

(17:25):
and played some of their best rugby in the early
rounds of Super rugby, whereas now I feel like they're
coming into a rich van of form. The game of
the weekend against the Reds, I thought the score line
kind of flattered the Chiefs in some respects that that
was a really tough game of footy, like they were
only down I think at one stage just before half
time seventeen fifteen the Reds were down against the chief Side.

(17:48):
I did feel that maybe the school line didn't probably
reflect how tough a game that was, so that that
hardened some tough football the chief side, whereas the Crusaders
are cruising in on on the coattails of a couple
of good ones and they're not at home at the Kaha,
so that that might be there. There are Kelly's Hill
as well.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Fellas what about well Teddy, you've got to assume he's
not going to be playing this week.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
That'll be a big out for the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Sorry I missed that. What name was that?

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Mind?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Sorry? She's how nasty? Was that mean? Far out at
the ground of you know, you've said a lot of knockouts,
but the concern of you know, the public that were there,
like it was genuinely everyone was really scared and worried
for his health and well being. So good to see
that he's he's back up and good spirits and back

(18:39):
home now. But yeah, I can't imagine we'll see him,
I think at all through the rest of the final series.
That was a really nasty hit collision, a double whamy
like that, and then he sadly seize it on the
ground after that, and then obviously spent a night in hospital,
So I can't imagine they'll be taking every precaution possible.

(18:59):
So I don't think we'll see Wallace to tick again,
and rightfully, we need to look after the Noggin.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yep, absolutely. Speaking of Noggin's Joe Wheeler, did you see
we put together the Perfect Athlete thanks to our listeners
as well on three for last week? And did you
realize that you featured ye fluttering?

Speaker 4 (19:18):
What was that? The downstairs operation?

Speaker 3 (19:21):
No dog had you covered there? Unfortunately yep.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Between between between Mark Todd's Gooch, Buck Shefford's Marna Laden
ball sack uh and dog rolls Dog roll Unfortunately he
didn't feature that, but stairs up stairs and behind Damian
McKenzie's smile was Joey Wheeler's laugh yep, you got in there.

(19:52):
Karen Reid's eye sockets obviously got in there with to
Mighty Martin's eyes behind them. Greg, some of us left
here and Kevin Milamu what he would you describe it
as an ear? I don't know.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Yeah, it's more like a yeah, like a mix between
a Coulie flower and a Brussels sprout.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Bacon strap. I don't describe it, but yeah, just so
you know you're featured and they're so congratulations.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
What an absolute honor. I'll do some work on trying
to get elevated and maybe me and dog Roll could
have a shower off we get convinced him.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Thank you so much for your time.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Good on you, mate, Jerry and Leni the hold Ikey
breakfast Time.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
For your latest sport headlines. Thanks to Export Ultra the
beer for here. The black Caps have slumped here. The
black Cats have slumped to a humbling one hundred and
fifteen run loss in the opening cricket Test against hosts
England at Lord's.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
I don't know if that's humbling. Would you describe that
as humble?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
That was a sorry? I know we drew a line
under the punishing cricket chap for this morning already. But
I'm inflamed. I don't think that's something because that pitch
was just a disaster. I think both teams were humbled
by that.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yeah, I wouldn't say humbling.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
No, I don't think that's.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I've said it's a lottery.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Yeah, absolutely, lollly scramble yep.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
And one hundred and fifteen run loss is actually like
that's actually a massive loss.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
Mozzle, Yeah, it could have been a yeah, one hundred gars.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Atkinson claimed a five bucker bag as New Zealand were
rolled for one hundred and thirty eight. Well, Glenn Phillips
made a valiant forty four not out.

Speaker 6 (21:31):
Yeah, read a stat as well, because obviously catches win matches.
Holding your catches when your matches. We dropped four catches
and there was also an LBW that we should have reviewed.
If we'd done all of those things, that would have
saved us one hundred and eight runs, so we still
wouldn't have still had lost, so that's all good.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Yeah, or we would have lost by seven runs though,
good game. Liam Mowson has finished fifth at the Monica
Formula One Grand Prix, with his car only just getting
to the start line after being taken a part and
reassembled pre race due to a fault. Damn Kemmi. Antinali
extended his driver's championship lead with victory.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I believe, scrolling back through my deep knowledge of motor games,
that is a tie for his best ever results.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
That right? Is it?

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Fi fifth?

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah? Yeah? And Tony Brown will join the coaching staff
of the All Blacks after next year's Rugby World Cup.
He signed on from twenty twenty eight as an assistant coach.
Once his commitments with the spring box.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
End question with that warning, how long is Dave Rennie
signed up for four?

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Little?

Speaker 4 (22:36):
Ye?

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I think he said I'm going to have to sign
on for I'm going to go for four.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
He's had ever had all the cards stack in his
favorite is he four years?

Speaker 1 (22:46):
That's a good question. I will find.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Out at eight thirty where we have the answer.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
We'll have to go to the bloody library and look
through the microfish try and find the answer to that question.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Lost all track of the bloody Juey decimally days and
say that.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
For it's not Hon't there's Jason Pyne, the football commentator
joins us.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Jerry Mni the hold Ikey breakfast.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
So it's an interesting situation at the moment. The All
Whites are just eight days away from their first game
of the twenty twenty six feet for World Cup. Now
they haven't been in a World Cup since twenty ten.
They are grouped with Belgium, They've got Egypt of course,
but their first game next Tuesday is going to be Versus. Interestingly,

(23:30):
Iran and New Zealand obviously lost their warm up games
are expected to really but how are they're looking for
the tournament proper? Joining us now the host of weekends
Sport on News Talks, here be football commentator for Sky Sport,
Jason pine get A Piney, Thanks for your time this morning.
How did you How did you get about that England

(23:51):
game one? Now? I mean England will be slightly concerned
about that, won't they?

Speaker 7 (23:55):
Yeah, I think England will be. I think I've read
a bit of their media and they're not particularly impressed
with the way they played. I think from New Zealand's
point of view, especially off the back of being rather
soundly beaten four nil by Haiti the other day, they'll
be a lot happier with what happened yesterday. Yes, they
still lost the game. Yes, they were still unable to

(24:17):
score a goal in the game, but a much better
performance and something I think that will encourage them ahead
of the first game against Iran a week tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Talk to us about Iran. Apparently some of their their
backroom staff have been denied entry into the country. There's
a bit of drama going on around them.

Speaker 7 (24:34):
Yeah, absolutely, this is Yeah, this is a very disruptive
for them as I understand it and the stuff I've seen.
You know, they're basing themselves in Mexico because of course
they are currently at war with the United States, and
when they come into La to play New Zealand, they
have to come in on the day and leave on
the day. They're not able to stay overnight. And as

(24:55):
you say, some of their backroom staff there's suggestions that
you know, ran to trying to sneak illegal terrorists into
the country or something like that. It's it's all just
got a bit messy. It can't be much done for
these footballers who have to try and focus on them.
I'm trying to win a game, no, I know.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
But is this something we should really be targeting as
a potential first victory in a World Cup Finals.

Speaker 7 (25:17):
Well, I guess, I mean, you don't really want it
to happen this way, do you, But any disruption.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
One hundred percent take Although I think these things could
work one or two ways, Pony, I mean it could
also galvanize it and decide. I mean, how much better
on paper are the Iranian team than New Zealand.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
Well, I mean on paper if you look at rankings there,
they're ranked twentieth in the world. We are eighty fifth,
So that that gives you the indication they're a good team.
You know, they often go to World Cups out of
the Asian Confederation. But having said all of that, guys,
you know it's a one off game, and all three
of these are one off games. And if you are
going to target a game where you might get that

(26:00):
first win in a World Cup, it feels like that
first one could be the one. You know, an unknown
quantity New Zealand really Iran don't know too much about us,
And she say, a disrupted build up, all of the
pressure that comes with, you know, being expected to beat
a side that's eighty fifth in the world, all of
that stuff. I think if there's going to be history
made at this tournament. You feel like it could be
in that very first game.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Can we check in on the pain trainer.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
I know there was a lot of a lot of
attention on him going into this game as well. If
you're the coach, there's no way you could bench the guy, surely.

Speaker 7 (26:33):
No, you need it. You need it for the profile,
more followers now than the entire entire country he lives in,
so it's it's quite remarkable. Look, Yeah, Tim Payne had
a Kiquotica games today, so I think you'll find that
he does start the game against Duran. So good for
the all whites and good for the clicks.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Hey, I was buying some rugby boots over the weekend,
Pony and apparently that they were saying that they've got
some Tim Payne football boots Socoba coming in on the
back of this. Yeah, they said, oh, we've got a
special on these ones here because we've got some new
Tim Payne colors coming in. I was like, seriously incredible.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
I mean, I mean there'll be all sorts of places
milking it for all that it's worth. I see he's
enlisted some help with his social media and with his representation.
So I mean, when you have five point three million followers.
There must be a way to take advantage of that.
I mean, hopefully he concentrates on football first and then
takes advantage afterwards.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Piny just in terms of obviously New Zealand will be
following New Zealand with interest the games against around Egypt
and Belgium and their group area. What about for the
larger World Cup though? Who are you pickings as favorites?
Who are the top one or two teams?

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (27:44):
I mean always the sort of the usual suspects when
it comes to football. France in Spain I think will
be the two favorites. Argentina who won it in Kata
in twenty twenty two. Lere now Messi's still playing, he's
ageless his sixth World Cup. Looking for a dark horse
maybe Norway, Earl and Harland. Of course, the Norwegian Viking
who can score for fun from Manchester City leads the

(28:06):
air line. So maybe a dark horse in Norway. But
I think, yeah, one of those top top two or
three France, Spain, Argentina, maybe Brazil. England will think they
can win it. England England will not win it.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Host the weekend sport on Newstalks, there'll be football commentator
for Sky Sports. Jason Pine, thank you so much for
your time.

Speaker 7 (28:24):
Good boys, Jerry and the Night.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
The Hoarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 8 (28:29):
Gerrian Mania joined the Complays the Hidaki Breakfast discussion group
on Facebook.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Give us a call now eight hundred haddock. If you
want to play It's Academic, We're gonna ask you five
questions and you need to just get three correct in
forty five seconds to win a fifty dollars Bunnings voucher

Academic Role of Honor.

Speaker 3 (28:56):

more in a did you hear your school there itched
on the It's Economic Roll of Honor?

Speaker 7 (29:13):
No?

Speaker 9 (29:14):
No, I don't think it's been lucky enough.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
To get on there was?

Speaker 3 (29:17):
What was your school?

Speaker 4 (29:19):
James Cook High School? I think it's got a new
name now and many.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Southlk ye any famous alumni, Oh.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Scott Dixon sung? Who else? Joe Nulla Bell play for
the Warriors. Kenny Bromich, Oh, yes, yes, Peter Hock the
other Bromich? Yes?

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Who can forget the other promise.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Shocking, I forget my god?

Speaker 1 (29:46):
What a school?

Speaker 5 (29:47):
What a powerful school?

Speaker 10 (29:49):
Any of them?

Speaker 7 (29:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (29:51):
Yes, Scott Dixon had a sick c r X used
to schools one of the boys. Yeah, yeah, it just
lowered read c Rixson. He used to take it down
to Weymouth and do burnouts and stuff down there and
sod to some Assyrian dude. And I think he put
it into a sense.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
That's a great yet, Dixon, Oh good stuff.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
All right, you know how this works out. Youre Caleb.
You're just going to get three out of five? Correct?
You got forty five seconds to do it, so you
won't have any time to google. Unfortunately. Let's get straight
into it. Question one for Caleb, what character did Alan
Rickman play in the Harry Potter movies? For past Searah

(30:34):
Snake was the answer complete the popular phrase a bird
in the hand is worth A bird in the hand
is worth five and something nearly two in the bush.
Australian comedian Barry Humphreys was known for his portrayal of
what character Yes what Michael Jackson album did the song
Belly Jean feature on?

Speaker 7 (30:57):
Er?

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Yes A is the capital of what Pacific Island? Nation.
It Avarua is the capital of what Pacific island nation?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Could no.

Speaker 11 (31:10):
Island?

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Cook Islands? You were just about there, kayleb.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Right there, Caleb burning the hands with two in the bush.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Oh yeah yeah, sorry man, good well yeah, good.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
On you, Caleb.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Apologize to your former high school Calis.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
We've left the.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
One hundred bucks up for grabs tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Thanks for playing, Thanks for listening to The Hierarchy Breakfast, Caleb,
Good on you.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Jerry and Midnight The Hierarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
So you would have read about this over the weekend.
The Wellington train that criving it up in someone's backyard, actually,
if it wasn't for a concrete stop block that it
crashed into after being diverted onto a runoff track on
Saturday night. This is David Gordon from Kiwi Rail describing
the situation.

Speaker 12 (31:56):
It's gone onto the single track section and then moved
onto the runaway section as host to the main line,
and it has come to rest against the stop block,
just a big block of concrete designed to stop a
train running any further. It's still standing upright, but its
wheels are off the tracks.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
So the Johnsonville Line train it struck the barrier south
of Kendallas station. There were a number of passengers that
were seriously injured. No fertilities, thank goodness, including I think
the driver, which makes sense because you'll be at the
front of the train.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Yeah, could face.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
It's a little misleading to say I could have ended
up in someone's backyard if not for the runaway rail
and concrete barrier, both installed purely to stop this exact situation. Yeah,
it's like, oh, it could have happened if we hadn't
taken several steps that did work to prevent it.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Apparently there was a massive boom though when it got
it would concrete.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Block when the train crashed.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Yeah. Yeah, you don't want to You don't want to
train going through your bedroom window.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
You don't want to train.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
You really don't want to train.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
We're talking about this this morning, and I said, it's
probably one of the worst things that could possibly crash
into your house because if it's a car, it's just one,
you know, thing that's in there. If it's a airplane,
you're all just done straight on arrival. But a train,
now there's one hundred people in your lounge, you know
what I mean. It's the worst part of it's like, oh,
it's usually not this messy. Jeez, you would have wanted
to squeege your shower before that for a train crash.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
I was once in a car accident where someone rear
ended us when we were turning into a into an
off road off like a main highway, and we went
and we got rear ended, and our car went through
a fence and into someone's front yard. Really, and we
we literally stopped meters like like maybe one or two

(33:40):
meters away from the window of the house. And yeah,
we had a bit of a chat to the meet see.
They helped us out. It was quite nice. I must
have been about seven or eight. I remember it vividly.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
That they said, don't look at the lawn and have
just reseated it.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
It all be right.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
We went straight through their fence. But I imagine there's
a few people out there who have had cars go
through their fence or into theirs, depended on corners that
you live on. Yeah, I remember there's one in Auckland
that that was notorious for having cars.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Every other week they had someone in there.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
They go sideways around the corner, people going too fast
or whatever, and then straight into someone's front yard.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
There was one recently I saw on the news or
a truck came straight into the bedroom there, and they've
got a hell of a fright when there's a bloody
truck sitting in your bedroom. So we ordered to do
on three four eight through this morning. What are the
worst things to have in your house? What are the
things you don't want to have in your house? Obviously,
train got to be right up there for me. I
reckon shower dome. You don't want a shower in a
shower dome in your house. No. I know that they

(34:36):
keep the shower warmer. I know that, but man, do
they injures the panic attack? And man, if you ever
want to have an absolute heart attack and a shower,
that's the way.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
To do it.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Plus, is there anything more vicious than a fart in
a shower with a shower dome on top of it.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
I've never seiled showered in a shower dome shower, and
I've certainly never farted in one. So what happens whateppens
at the showdow But it sits above the shower is
and it sucks up the moisture.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
What it is in the flatt it's just a roof
ceiling on that thing.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
It's like a combination of a sauna and a nice
warm shower. The other good thing about it, Jerry, is
that you don't get any of the condensation going down
the walls. And also anyone can come into the bathroom
and use the merrit no steam on it.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
You're speaking like a man who owns or knows more
about a showdow than anyone else. Are you operating a shower?
Are you in the pocket a big shower dome?

Speaker 6 (35:22):
I'm not in the pocket, but I'll tell you what
it was.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
Two of the best years.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
Of my life the year that we had shower domes
in our showers.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Well, the year you had showereds just two of the
best years of your life. Is that good? That's incredible.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
I tell you what you don't want. You don't want
a live stock wandering through yours.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
I have had this before, a flat that are made
of mine head and why mede. When we were growing up,
we got on the soup one night and we woke
up the next morning. I woke up on the couch.
Someone lift the back door open, lambs all through the house,
lambs absolutely everywhere.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
You stand up. You've smushed it into the carpet.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Good luck in that out you're down the supermarket for
a bloody what do you call them?

Speaker 5 (35:59):
The steaming meda dirt.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Things the place, rugg think of land dumb one live stock,
and yet I think of.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
All the animals though, I mean a lamb would be
you know, the animal that you would want.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Oh preferable over like a wall or something. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
And wells are no.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
Good pegs you don't want in there either.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Motorbike parts as well. I've been to someone's house once
and they were going through a tough time and they've
recently broken up with their partner and they were disassembling
a motorbike in the lounge and putting it back together
again at all hours of the They were working on
that in twenty four to seven for a number of days.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Yeah, many light bulbs in their house, very dark still
lamp shortage of light bulbs now interesting. All right, keep
the ticks coming through three for eight thread as a
bunch of them. I'm just going to get through the
mother in law's ones now, all right, we're going to
that's done. We can draw a line under the mother
in law's So thank you to the three hundred people
have taxed it.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Jerry and Mini the Hodokey breakfast.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
We talking about things that you don't want in your
house is off the back of a nearly nearly someone's house.
But it wasn't for a giant concrete stopper that ended
up in someone's house.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Put there just for the express purpose of stopping there
from going into that house. Britain has sticked through on
three four eight three X. We're saying the train got
to be one of the top things that you don't
want in your house. BRIT's ticks through said, not true
at all. Jerry had a train running at my place
one time and the wife loved it. Another text through
here saying should we all have concrete blocks around the

(37:27):
house to stop various vehicles? I don't mind that. Oh yeah, okay,
a looped up diddy Jehovah's witnesses in your house is
a pain.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Okay. I've never found Jehovah's witnesses to be that offensive.
I mean, firstly, they normally come to your front door, yep,
but they're not normally inside of your house.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Well, they'll ask to come into it.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
You can invite them in for a cup of two.
I've done that in the past. Ye had a little chat.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Yeah, I remember one time. I have a vivid memory
of my father inviting one in and then sending them
on their merry way with a book that he had
given them.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
I don't know how Bible by by ELSTERA. Crowley. Yeah,
he wud be impressive.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
He thought that was a real hurt.

Speaker 5 (38:04):
G Lane, G Lane, g lame p Diddy.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Yeah, a lot of g lane coming in dampness seems
to be a major problem for a lot of people. Moss,
mold and gunge. I did once go to a flat
and tonedam when we're dursing filming, and they actually had
moss growing in the carpet, like proper moss. Yeah, moss
that had been there for you know, three or four years,
sort of vibe like fact that green stuff.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
You know name.

Speaker 5 (38:28):
Yes, I starting to develop a culture.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Yeah, I am speaking of Dunner's frost on the inside
of your inside your house. You don't want that. I
had had a flat where I would have frost, a
thin layer of frost on top of my mink blanket
that I slept under, and then also directly above my
head where I had been breathing on the wall on
the inside of the house.

Speaker 5 (38:47):
Wow, you don't want frost inside.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Your It's amazing when it's colder inside. There is a
lot of those Dunedin flats that are colder inside than
they are out.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
It's because, yeah, it's because of the moss, mold and gounge.
Father of four here and Google Maps. Ute superhero remember
this guy? So he was on Google Maps when the
car came past taking the photos. He ran out and
did a Superman on the back of his own use. Yes, yes,
we've posted that on a while ago. Is in brackets. Yes,
the kids finally think I'm somewhat cool thanks to you guys. However,
I would not want my kids in my house if

(39:14):
I didn't have to.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
Speaking of kids in your house, is a couple of
tics have come in? Any children older than twenty five?
So was assuming your children? Anyone's so one? What is
the age that you? Probably twenty five? You're thinking, all right,
time to go now?

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Yeah, twenty twenty twenty. You reckon the push twenty one
because wouldn't you, I mean you, as a parent. Aren't
you starting to fantasize already about your emptyiness?

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Ebsolutely?

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Yeah? Exactly. At by twenty, you're like, all right, God.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
I think what normally happens to me is that they
get rid of their kids for a period of time.
Then oftentimes they'll just pop back them at certain times.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Yep, someone else has Tixan the regular tiny fai. You
don't want that in your house. Crusader supporters and your
houses that know. For me, Mark from the Neki, you
probably wouldn't want Lee Hart in your house at three.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
I don't know a lot of people would like Lee
Hut in the house at three. Myth says someone sardines. Yeah,
you know what I'm with their on sardines, people eating sardines.
They shouldn't be allowed to do that in my house. Yep,
David Baines, this Texter wouldn't want him in my house,
will Robin Baine. I put him in the caravan.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
Dean's Ticks, then had a car take out the corner
of our garage, then went through a wooden fence into
the next door neighbor's kitchen, finally coming to a stop
in the lounge. None injured.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
You don't want that, No, you don't want that.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
The hierarchy breakfast.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
Someone said, I want that.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Jerry and Maniah The Hdarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 8 (40:44):
Jerry and Maniah catch the radio show from six till
ten weekdays, The Hurdarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
The other day, I pulled up to go into a motorway.
You know one of those red lights that, yes, you know,
you just go straight through the red light light where.

Speaker 5 (40:57):
It's like one car per red light.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
But then it's like this two lanes and does that
mean one car per lane or is that one car
pert light? On't ever know?

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Just go around the outside. You don't obey those.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
Red lights, plus straight through this.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
So the person in front of me was obeying the
red light muppet. So I pulled them behind them and
they were driving the car that I think is the worst.
I looked at it. I was like, I've never seen
that name of a car before, and I thought, that
is the worst named car I've ever seen in mine.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
Time, worst you've ever seen in your life, worst I've
ever seen worst? A Civic.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I like the name. I like the Civic mean.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
A Toyota Yaris?

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I mean Yaris. It sounds like something that you do
at the end of the night when you've had too
much to drink.

Speaker 5 (41:33):
Similar to a twyter aqua.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
Yeah, yeah, I mean has got something.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
Was it worse than the Nissan juke aka Nissan junk
aka nis en joke?

Speaker 5 (41:44):
Because that means the worst.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
And it's it's worse. It's worse than that.

Speaker 4 (41:48):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (41:48):
It's worse. It's a Toyota alphad.

Speaker 11 (41:52):
I know that.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Is this a van?

Speaker 1 (41:54):
It's a kind of a vanny thing.

Speaker 5 (41:56):
Does it look like it could turn into one of
the Decepticons.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
It was black and it was It's kind of like
a People movie. I think it's the new version of
the Previa.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Okay, no relation to the Bongo Brawny. Oh my god,
the Bongo shout out to Bongo's worldwide. So hold on,
I've seen this spell it out for me because I
think I know the one you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
It.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
It's a l P H A D.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
I love to think that somewhere out there in the world,
in the wide world, someone's listening to the show, sitting
behind one right now at the lights.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
They're sitting into twyter alphad sitting.

Speaker 5 (42:33):
Behind one looking at it now? Is it alfhad or
elf hard?

Speaker 1 (42:36):
Well why would it be l hard because well, why
would it be either of those things? It doesn't matter
whether it's elp Hard or El Fad, Why would you
name something that well?

Speaker 3 (42:47):
Because the Alps go hard and maybe maybe it's just
the proud South alp Hard. It's it's right up there.
Someone said I can't be a twetle avi in for
the worst name Levan.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
When you when you live in New Zealand, when you
realize that that's not a great name for a car,
but it probably sounds fancy.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
If you live in Japan, yes, someone sticks through. I
think one of the worst names is the Lafesta. My
Spanish isn't great, but I think it translates as the
wound God.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
There's another Spanish car. I'm pretty sure that.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Paedo, because I was looking this up in Spanish and
means wank. It Now in South America and Spain and
parts of North America it's it's sold as the Mitsubishi Montero,
which means mountain.

Speaker 5 (43:27):
So we can't get our coolness the way it does.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
I know that there's a car as well. There's an
Audi e Tron and I'm pretty sure it tron and
French means.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
Pooh, okay, President Audi in Audi poo. The twittera isis
wasn't their best work either on three four eight three.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
No, Twitter, you've got weird naming of cars. I think
as well, when you're when you're a Japanese brand, it's
got to work Japanese and English. I think that's the
issue there, and to get the crossover. That's why the
Germans going with the make and that with the model
with a number.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
It's hard to remember what they are. I can't remember
what any of those different BMW's are. I presume that
they were naming that tourta Isis after the Egyptian god
like I don't know that Turta was out there producing
al Qaeda's No there's as I've.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Seen an a chorus as well. This has just been
texting the Mitsubishi Menca winky, what a Menca wink? Surely
that's not.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
Oh someone else's texted and said, apparently Nissan got the
name Aura O R. What a suited a care better?

Speaker 13 (44:37):
Jerry and the Night The Hold Breakfast Sports Chat with
acc Head g Lane, brought you by Export Ultra the
bell for Here.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
Welcome to the show, acc here, g Lane. Good weekend of.

Speaker 10 (44:50):
Sport, great weekend of sport. Oh my god, there's some
some great rugby action going on probably possibly the biggest
hit I have seen in any contact sport. What happened
on mister Malachai Rampling. Absolutely I'm surprised that Lester fining
and Nuku's head is still on his shoulder. Yeah, the
fact he didn't get Hi eight either, he just bounced

(45:12):
straight back up again. I don't know how that but
that was it was a red card. That was a redcard.
It was and I must have been if that doesn't
win every single smashed him bro to the end of time,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
Know what is what was the redcard for exactly? Well,
hair the.

Speaker 10 (45:28):
Shoulder did hit the head first contact, but the way
that Lester Fining and Nuku's head jerked back it was
quite something to witness live. WHOA how did he get
up from that? Mouthguard didn't go off? Meanwhile someone else
fell over and their mouthguard went off.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Yeah, it looked like he was on the eight ten
to Candala his head whipped back.

Speaker 10 (45:51):
And then that they kept on doing it in slow
mo on the comment dary and just like stop it.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Was.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
It actually, in a roundabout way, one of the worst
weekends and sport that we've ever had because the super
rugby playoffs, they all went chalk. Somehow, the Blues, despite
getting a month's worth of hiding, still get to carry
on into the next round. Then there was no Warriores game.
This weekend into one of the most dismal tests that
we've seen in well since eighteen eighty eight.

Speaker 10 (46:17):
Well look, if you're I mean, if you're a Hurricanes
fan or a Chiefs fan, you're pretty happy. And staff
you're a Crusaders fan, you're pretty happy as well, because
they did absolutely pump their opposition, which is going to
be good for this weekend.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
I think if you're a Blues fan you're happy too
because you somehow managed to fight your way into the
semi finals. You've got a chance of beating the Hurricanes
on Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Is another brave hiding from the Blues. I was saying
before because Joey Willer was talking to us about the
only team that's had a worse month than the Blues
is Minor PACIFICA, and I was saying, that's a great point.
We should shut the Blues down after this season. At
white Ground, I've heard.

Speaker 10 (46:50):
A rumor that they're possing.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
Did you hear it from her? I've I've been trying
to push that rumor out there. Yeah, I mean, why
wouldn't you just rest your way through this kind of
little last week's yeah, and then just come and firing
for the semi and then bomb in the final. You're
having your straps. My god.

Speaker 10 (47:06):
They beat the Hurricans this weekend, that would be quite
something that So Friday night is going to be the
Chiefs versus the Crusaders at Female Stadium and that'll be
a massive game and then hopefully some more people can
turn up to Wellington Stadium to met Henry Stadium on Saturday.
Weather was pretty bad on Friday, but still your team
is top of the table. They're about to take out
the championship.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
Kicking into an empty stand, it was pretty disappointing, Like
it's hard to watch. Yeah, it's the worst looking stand
when it's empty h in the country.

Speaker 10 (47:33):
And the wind was outrageously swirly. They were kicking balls,
looked like they were playing into a headwind and then
they'd kick out and the wind would pick it up
and send it another fifty meters.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
That seat situation, yellow seats really stand out. It turns
out if you.

Speaker 10 (47:45):
I reckon invite everyone along like for the if they
make the final, they'll sell out the final, take a
seat home, Yeah, and they will just replace.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
What about if you bring along a jumper, like a
black jumper, and you put it over the seat beside you.
If everyone does that.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
They still wouldn't fill it out, right, you go back
to the cracket.

Speaker 10 (48:04):
Oh my god, not great. I've had such high expectations
of the time. Why it start of every tour it's
the same feeling, isn't it. Like when we go to
Australia in December. I'll be the same one. Oh yeah,
this is our time, but we are not a World
Test Championship winning team at the moment. In a performance
like that. But the pitch you got to, I mean
there is chat about a terrible perch. They bowled straighter

(48:26):
and they bold better seam up than us.

Speaker 1 (48:27):
That's all sure, But it's a great leveler. I mean,
a pitch like that is a great level It's just survival,
isn't it. There's a ball that's got your name on it,
and if you get it early in your innings and
you're in a lot of trouble.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
The one that got Bethel where it just was I
think it was Henry and it just didn't bounce at all.

Speaker 10 (48:42):
Rolled. So the amount of l WW in bold I
think it was probably about seventy percent of them. Of that,
that shows that there's something up with the pitch that
it's unplayable when you've got players like Joe Route, Came Williamson,
Bethel struggling, struggling to survive.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
You know that that.

Speaker 10 (48:57):
But I mean highlight obviously was the partnership two Gay
and Root there on the second innings.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
That was a highlight.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
It was a great partnership. Twenty seven they put on.

Speaker 3 (49:07):
Cameo from Tongue in the middle there on.

Speaker 10 (49:08):
Yeah, yeah, tongue Tongue kind of wagged at the end.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
There, Tongue en Route. So the other part about it
is sideways. Is one thing when the pictures moving sideways,
but when it moves up and down as well.

Speaker 10 (49:18):
Yeah, it's disappointing. And I mean you mentioned it before
the fact that just down the road at the Oval
they've got a pitch that's actually quite good, yeah, and
about bouncy, and then at Lord's they just produce an
absolute shit.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
It's weird. I mean, it's the same same conditions as
the as the I mean of course they bring the
soil in anyway.

Speaker 10 (49:33):
Yeah, good news though for the black Caps they've got
they've got about ten days off in London. I mean,
I don't know about you guys, but there's not much
to do in London, nah, all the surrounding nightclub and.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Find a pint, So you have to be taking a trup.
What do you get on the Eurostar.

Speaker 3 (49:51):
To go for a couple you'd have to go for
a couple of nights, go for a peak.

Speaker 1 (49:54):
Wouldn't you go to Paris for a couple of days, take.

Speaker 5 (49:56):
A peace, take a piece flying across.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
I mean when we were over there, we had a
couple of days off at the Rugby World Cup in
twenty fifteen, we went to Amsterdam. Yeah we took let's
not forget that we took a peek. We will never
forget that day, leslie forget, We'll never Unfortunately there's video
video evidence of that day.

Speaker 10 (50:13):
So yeah, I mean, I'm no doubt they'll hit the
nets hard the next ten days before the oval test.
Unusual break but maybe the oval is not available to them.
But yeah, they're sticking around London. They play that one,
then they head up to Nottingham.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
It turns out I was talking to them to know
about this morning that actually the ideal preparation for that
test would have been just to get on the worst
pitch you possibly couldn't just think about how you were
going to survive. Instead of thinking about how we're going
to score two fifty or two sixty, they should have thought,
how did we score like one hundred and eighty and
both had things.

Speaker 10 (50:40):
Yeah, I mean it's part of me also thinks that
potentially the likes of Latham should probably should have gone
Travis Head on it, you know, like Travis Head in
the ashes out. Yes, you're going to get out, just
absolutely throw your hands in it.

Speaker 3 (50:51):
Mind it. But this is this the new Basball two
point zero, and it's so used to be slapdash. We
play like, you know, it's a Tea twenty at all times. Now,
is it okay? We're not going to change our print.
We're still going to hit the person play golf the
whole lead.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Up into it.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
We're going to prepare such awful pictures that it doesn't
matter what the print was.

Speaker 10 (51:07):
Yeah, they've moved the eye of Sara on from the
actual tactics to the ground condition, which is clever.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
It's brilliant, which is clear.

Speaker 10 (51:14):
I mean you've got to give it to Brett Benny mccaughmy.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
And you never a guy. You're never gonna lose your
job as a coach.

Speaker 10 (51:18):
When you're just like, well look perch of the groundsman
getting shot everywhere. That doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Stuff acc here, g Lane, thank you so much all
the time. This morning absolutely pleaser.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
Jerry DMan Night, the Hotarchy Breakfast.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
Early on the show, we were talking about things that
you don't want in your house. This is off the
back of a train nearly going into someone's house.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
I reckon worst thing to come into your house to train,
just because obviously it would make a real horror of
a mess, but also just the amount of people that
are then milling about in your house. You know, a
full carriage comes in there, you get a hundred unannounced
house gifts. Disaster.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Dean's on the line that morning, Dean.

Speaker 12 (51:55):
How are you?

Speaker 7 (51:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (51:56):
Pretty good?

Speaker 1 (51:57):
How are you good?

Speaker 10 (51:58):
Dean?

Speaker 1 (51:58):
Have you had something come into your house?

Speaker 11 (52:00):
Not my house, but my neighbor's house. We had recently
moved into a new rental and alarm behold, this car
came around the corner and took out the corner of
our garage. We went through the wooden fence was between
our two houses, into the next neighbors, through the next
neighbor's house, into their kitchen, and ended up in the lounge.
The next door neighbor had just got out of his

(52:24):
chair and the lounge and gone into the kitchen to
PUTI hished cock in his tea.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
Oh thank goodness.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
That.

Speaker 1 (52:29):
Wow, we'll talk about timing.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Did he finish making?

Speaker 1 (52:35):
But it was?

Speaker 4 (52:37):
It was.

Speaker 11 (52:37):
There was two girls in the car. Apparently the girl
only just bought the car that day, had no lights,
there's no insurance. That had been drinking all day as well.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
So did your next door neighbor cook the couple of
girls in the car? Upper feet? And so here we go?

Speaker 3 (52:52):
Do you know any of that?

Speaker 4 (52:53):
He didn't know.

Speaker 11 (52:56):
But there wasn't a scratch on anybody. Have not a scratch,
not a bruise, nothing.

Speaker 1 (53:01):
Okay, Well that's a I'll tell you what great result,
all surprising result.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
But get your garage fixed.

Speaker 11 (53:07):
In Oh yeah, sure, yeah, then I be the side
of the garage as well.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Thanks for you cold, and I appreciate that. Yeah. A
number of people have texted and other things that they
don't want in there are myth they don't want that
in the house. Probably fishing gear. You see, I'm in
behind that. I'm always trying to get my kids fishing
gear out of the trust. To take his fishing gear
Inte's bedroom. That secret sauce stuff. Leave that in the garage.
What's the secret source the secret sources of stuff that
you put on the top of your soft bait. It's

(53:36):
the smelly sauce stuff and the fish can smell it
and r awsome towards the soft bait.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Don't want that?

Speaker 1 (53:42):
And then someone else texting here, I wouldn't want David
Bain in my house. All right?

Speaker 8 (53:47):
This is the Hidery Breakfast Jeremy Wells and the nice Stewets.
Find them on Instagram. That Hidarchy Breakfast, Breakfast, Get set
for winter wins.
