which is a which is a leftist funded organization, has
nothing to do with ethics.

Yeah, we're Mormons. Yeah. Well, Burgess, uh, you know, put
out a ubed piece in the Dead Right News talking
about Utah and the fact that progressives are now inside
the gate. Yeah, and we got to be careful.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
At it's not the barbarians at the gate. They're in here,
they're in Utah, they're amongst us.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Well, we had a chance to talk with Congressman Owens
a little bit earlier today and asked him about this
and what he's seen and what he's so concerned about.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Well, I'll be honest, with the benefit of my life
growing up in the sixties down South, is I know
what it is to have a culture very very similar
to Utah, very family ore in it, very entrepreneurial, forward thinking,
proud you know we had we had. My dad was
a World War Two veteran, so that was where I
grew up in. And and now the read and if

ever anybody ever listened to me talk, I'm always reflecting
back to my youth because so many Americans have no
idea what it's all about. Matter of fact, Ronald Reagan,
who's my transitional president, Native talk, we talked about freedom
is never more than one generational way, and he finished
it up by saying, one day we'll spend our sunset
years telling our children and our children's children what it
was like to be in the United States whom then
(01:41):
were free. Here. I am my sunset years talking about
what it was like when my community was very similarly
to Utah. And I'm seeing the same thing happen with
the left making a transition slowly, surely, but slowly to
where they are really kind of destroying everything that our
culture is built on, faith, family, free market education. So
(02:04):
I think my message very simply, we need to know
who the enemy is. It's not people, it's an ideology
and people who do take this ideology on will end
up being a detriment to our country, to our state.
They hate the family unit, they hate the idea of property,
They hate of faith in God because they feel they
are the God. It's what commonists and socialists and markets
(02:25):
have always done. It's a slow process, but it is
spiritual war that we need to fight. And I tell
my friends here in Utah, we cannot take this for granted.
I cannot say that loud enough because we're seeing it
happening as we speak, and we wake up one day
and find out what happened in Utah. What what happened
is the state that was supposed to be the the
light on the hill for the rest of the country.

So that was the reason for my op ed. And
I'm just hoping that that Utans will wake up and
see what we're up against.

You know, Conressman, when I read your article, what nearly
came to my mind was the most recent primary Republican
primary where you saw two county commissioners in Box Elder
County up for re election and an organization called Majority Matters,
which is a left leftist Democrat and when they say majority,
they mean Democrat. Majority Matters organization that came in and

funded the campaigns of the Republicans running against those Republican
county commissioners. I don't see that the Boxelder County has
a very strong presence. Democrat Party has a strong presence
in Boxelder County. To me, that was what I saw.
I thought about when you said they're inside the gate
here in Utah. You've got Democrats and their money looking
to on sat Republicans in Republican primaries that don't even

involve Democrats. I mean, are you seeing more of that?
That's the one example that came to my mind. Are
you seeing kind of the breadcrumbs trails of this kind
of activity here in our state.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah. We have to recognize is that the left. First
of all, they are tenacious, they have a mission, and
unlike those of us who love freedom, we love freedom,
we kind of take it almost for granted because like
taking our next breath, these guys who hate our concept
our country, concepts of our country freedom are not doing
I think that way. So they're gonna be very aggressive,
(04:08):
very subtle, and they will in the long term try
to get you, get us to go in a different direction.
And what's happening in box box elder elder is that
you have, Uh, we have the opportunity right now if
you understand the idea of data centers and what is
going to mean to our future, our freedom being ahead
of the evil of Communist party. You guess guess who's
(04:29):
against that. It's the Communists, It's the Marxist And now
we're we're allowing the left to convince good people, good
good Republicans that for some reason, it's not it's not
for our good either. So we have to be just
careful about knowing how these guys operate. It's not in
your face, it's not just being honest, it's it's very subtle.
And uh, and I would say the places that I'm

really concerned about place like box Elder, our elder obviously,
But then you look at our our boards, our school boards,
you look at our the down ballot. The said sometimes
don't get the notoriety. These are aware the the left
season is very easy ticking. So they're going to go
after us. You just have to be aware of it
and and be more more engaged and more active and

in the process of saving this culture we have here.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, in congressman I was going to ask you to
fight this. I mean, are people aware first of all,
aware that this shift is going on very quietly. But
then how do we fight it? I mean, what how
do we maintain what what we hold so dearly in
your opinion.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Let's let's be utah. First of all, let's educate our kids.
I understand this has been award against us for decades.
You now see what's happening across our country with our
young people thinking communism social and is cool because they've
been teaching there in our schools and so for so long.
So having this conversation we're having right now is a
big part of it. Once we become aware, and that's
that's the upside of a free uh uh, free free
(05:52):
people who have had the ability to to think through
the process critical thinking power. It's once you understand we're
we're up against what we are, we'll fight against. So
education is a big piece of it. Us having this conversation,
I will say, the idea of conservatives, the idea of
my way of the highway, we cannot do that. We
have to be strategic the way these guys are. We
(06:12):
have to look at what's going to be smart. How
can we continue to keep move our party, our conservative
values forward and not leave ourselves open so that we
we just we divide ourselves to a point. What has
happened to our speaker. That's another example. We we have
our Senate spek president that is pro pro life, pro
(06:34):
school choice, pro small businesses. Go through the list, and
here we are. We have somebody who actually put thirty
five thousand dollars into a democratic campaign process, and then
we end up losing that. So not only do we
lose the president of the of the Senate, we lost
an entire district, a conservative district. This is the way
(06:56):
these guys operate. And so one day we keep this up,
we look back five in fifteen years from now and
we'll be another Georgia. Uh, it will be another California.
So we have to make sure that we we've stay
in the fight. My friends realize we have something that's
worth seeing focused on. Yes, we we will have to
kind of not the more, have to be more engaged.
Maybe take the more instead of taking vacation time, get

out there and start talk with folks running for office.
Whatever it is. We have to be involved now and
and realize this is this, this is the state. We
cannot cannot lose the way again. We lost my my
my community, my community back in the from the sixties.

Two three weeks to go? The White House issued a
report on the Smithsonian, very critical of the Smithsonian and
other museums around the country as a result of their
political correctness.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Just it's so disappointing to see the narratives that are
being shared with with the public in general, but especially
young people, hearing a version of American history that couldn't
be more cynical and really emphasizing things that I think
miss the most important parts of the American story.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Well, joining us on our Newsmaker line, to talk more
about that, because there is a win for George in Philadelphia.
Let's find out what it is. Jeffrey Anderson is the
President and the Americans Main Street Initiative. Jeffrey, how are
you welcome back to the Rod and Greg Show.

I'm doing well. Thanks for having me on.

Guys.

What's the big win for the founders in Philly?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Well, so, at Independence Park there in Philadelphia Hallowed Ground,
where Independence Hall is, there's a site called the President's
House site. It's the ruins of the house where George
Washington and John Adams lived when they were presidents when
the Capitol was in Philadelphia in the early days of
the Republic, And it had been a woke exhibit that
(09:11):
had made George Washington the most heavily criticized person at
Independence Park. Incredibly, and now the Trump administration has achieved
a huge victory by replacing those woke signs and putting
up just vastly improved replacement signs that no longer disparaged
George Washington. So it's a tremendous win for honoring Washington
(09:35):
and our founders and really our country's history.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Jeffrey, why the success there in Philadelphia, But not success
not seeing the same type of success as the Smithsonian.
Say in Washington, DC Museum of American History, why can't
we see the same thing happened there?
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Well, because the Trump administration has been great on this stuff,
really the first presidency that has been and you know said,
there was this threat from the woke left, and the
National Park Service, which controls Independence Park, is under the
Trump administration. It's part of the executive branch. So they
were able to pretty much take control of that situation.
(10:14):
Now they had to win. It went through four rounds
of cases in federal court over the last six months
or so, or in the six month period since they
first took down the signs back in January. The replacement
signs just finally went up a couple of weeks ago.
After winning these key they lost at at the district
court level from when a couple of rogue judges ruled
(10:35):
against them in a rather lawless fashion fashion, and then
and then the appellate courts slapped those judges down pretty thoroughly.
But so the cope administration control the parks, can control
the Park Service. The Smithsonian is not control it's not
part of the executive branch. It's not. It's considered it
like a trust instrumentality. I think of the federal government,
(10:55):
which basically means taxpayers fund most of it, and it
gets this great land on the National Mall, what have you.
But it's not actually part of the government. It's and
so it's harder to bring it, uh, you know, to heal.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, Jeffrey, are they ever going to get over it?
I'm talking about the socialist and the those on the left.
Are they ever going to get over the fact that
they hate America and they don't want anything good about
America exposed?
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Well, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
You're looking to get over that. They're quite content, unfortunately
hating America. They have to pretend they don't every now
and then when it's necessary. But uh, yeah, no, it's
it's a it's an incredible onslaught here to like, you know,
what what happened at the President's House site in Philadelphia
before the Trump administration had this great victory. What what happened
(11:44):
has happened at the American History Museum in Washington, d C.
The Smithsonian. I mean, it's it's appalling, you know.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I This reminds me that the e PA had almost
like like a museum, and they were showing things that
were just about you know, the Green New Deal and
about climate change. And when Lee Zelden came in as secretary,
he got rid of all that because it was not accurate,
it was propaganda. Do you worry that, depending on the
administration that wins in the White House, we're just going
(12:12):
to ping pong back between you know, the fake history
and legitimate history. Is there any normalcy that can be
struck between administrations, be it Republican and Democrat.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Yeah, that's a great question. I sure hope it doesn't
ping pong back and forth. I think that's part of
why it's so important to make the public case to
talk about what the administration is doing. The mainstream press
is characterized the Trump administration's efforts in Philadelphia, for example,
as erasing history, whitewashing history. It's this ridiculous portrayal, and
the woke left tries to pretend that they're providing all
(12:45):
this nuance and complex history. In reality, they're providing an
incredibly simplistic view of history that America's basically been bad.
It's a country of oppressors, and the oppressed white males
are the oppressors. Everyone else is the oppressed, and it's
just incredibly simplistic, lacking nuance. The new signs that the
Trump administration put up, they're extremely nuanced. In fact, one
(13:07):
of the federal courts that ruled in the trumpministration's favor,
one of the federal judges said that the signs were
full of historical context and talked about them at some length.
They're they're terrific signs of incredible improvement over what was
there before.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
These uh, these battles are ongoing, and it's it's important,
I think, to also hopefully get some of the old
school liberals to realize how bad some of this stuff is.
This is not the way, say ken Burns would depict things.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
So, Jeffrey, you're saying that America has a very complex history.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
We do.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
You know, there's been good, there's been bad. But you're
saying there is a way to tell it factually and
a way that is fair to America.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yes, and when you tell our history factually, in all
its complexity, you realize that it's one of the greatest
stories in the history of the world. Are founding, It's
one of the greatest events in the history of the world,
our founding class, that our founders, I don't know if
there's ever been a class of political leaders that can
match them. In the history of the world. We have
(14:12):
an incredible, glorious history. It's nobody's history is utopian or perfect,
but ours is is a you know, about as good
as it gets, and to try to portray it as
something to be ashamed of is really an appalling injustice.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
So, you know, I asked the question, but I'm curious.
Can we find that equilibrium? I mean, you're saying yes,
but does that happen right away? Do we have to
have a couple incarnations of going back and forth, or
really can common sense carry the day? Starting now? We
can we really get there? Especially because you're telling me
(14:50):
that this is a pretty fair This isn't. We haven't
taken all the worts out, We've just put them in
the proper context.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Right, It's going to take an ended effort over a
relatively lengthy period of time, I think, isn't. It's not
a fight, it can just be one overnight for years,
for decades. Really, the left has waged this assault on
our history and heroes, and it's very well funded. The
Melon Foundation has contributed half a billion dollars to this
(15:21):
sort of thing, and for the most part, conservatives have
been asleep at the switch and just kind of sitting
back and watching it happen and not really stopping it.
And that's why it's so great to see the Trump
administration stepping forward and taking these matters seriously. But it's
going to take the kind of sustained effort from those
who believe in our history and heroes to fight against
(15:42):
those who want to disparage them.

After winning these key they lost at at the district
court level from when a couple of rogue judges ruled
(10:35):
against them in a rather lawless fashion fashion, and then
and then the appellate courts slapped those judges down pretty thoroughly.
But so the cope administration control the parks, can control
the Park Service. The Smithsonian is not control it's not
part of the executive branch. It's not. It's considered it
like a trust instrumentality. I think of the federal government,
(10:55):
which basically means taxpayers fund most of it, and it
gets this great land on the National Mall, what have you.
But it's not actually part of the government. It's and
so it's harder to bring it, uh, you know, to heal.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, Jeffrey, are they ever going to get over it?
I'm talking about the socialist and the those on the left.
Are they ever going to get over the fact that
they hate America and they don't want anything good about
America exposed?
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Well, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
You're looking to get over that. They're quite content, unfortunately
hating America. They have to pretend they don't every now
and then when it's necessary. But uh, yeah, no, it's
it's a it's an incredible onslaught here to like, you know,
what what happened at the President's House site in Philadelphia
before the Trump administration had this great victory. What what happened
(11:44):
has happened at the American History Museum in Washington, d C.
The Smithsonian. I mean, it's it's appalling, you know.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I This reminds me that the e PA had almost
like like a museum, and they were showing things that
were just about you know, the Green New Deal and
about climate change. And when Lee Zelden came in as secretary,
he got rid of all that because it was not accurate,
it was propaganda. Do you worry that, depending on the
administration that wins in the White House, we're just going
(12:12):
to ping pong back between you know, the fake history
and legitimate history. Is there any normalcy that can be
struck between administrations, be it Republican and Democrat.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Yeah, that's a great question. I sure hope it doesn't
ping pong back and forth. I think that's part of
why it's so important to make the public case to
talk about what the administration is doing. The mainstream press
is characterized the Trump administration's efforts in Philadelphia, for example,
as erasing history, whitewashing history. It's this ridiculous portrayal, and
the woke left tries to pretend that they're providing all
(12:45):
this nuance and complex history. In reality, they're providing an
incredibly simplistic view of history that America's basically been bad.
It's a country of oppressors, and the oppressed white males
are the oppressors. Everyone else is the oppressed, and it's
just incredibly simplistic, lacking nuance. The new signs that the
Trump administration put up, they're extremely nuanced. In fact, one
(13:07):
of the federal courts that ruled in the trumpministration's favor,
one of the federal judges said that the signs were
full of historical context and talked about them at some length.
They're they're terrific signs of incredible improvement over what was
there before.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
These uh, these battles are ongoing, and it's it's important,
I think, to also hopefully get some of the old
school liberals to realize how bad some of this stuff is.
This is not the way, say ken Burns would depict things.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
So, Jeffrey, you're saying that America has a very complex history.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
We do.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
You know, there's been good, there's been bad. But you're
saying there is a way to tell it factually and
a way that is fair to America.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yes, and when you tell our history factually, in all
its complexity, you realize that it's one of the greatest
stories in the history of the world. Are founding, It's
one of the greatest events in the history of the world,
our founding class, that our founders, I don't know if
there's ever been a class of political leaders that can
match them. In the history of the world. We have
(14:12):
an incredible, glorious history. It's nobody's history is utopian or perfect,
but ours is is a you know, about as good
as it gets, and to try to portray it as
something to be ashamed of is really an appalling injustice.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
So, you know, I asked the question, but I'm curious.
Can we find that equilibrium? I mean, you're saying yes,
but does that happen right away? Do we have to
have a couple incarnations of going back and forth, or
really can common sense carry the day? Starting now? We
can we really get there? Especially because you're telling me
(14:50):
that this is a pretty fair This isn't. We haven't
taken all the worts out, We've just put them in
the proper context.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Right, It's going to take an ended effort over a
relatively lengthy period of time, I think, isn't. It's not
a fight, it can just be one overnight for years,
for decades. Really, the left has waged this assault on
our history and heroes, and it's very well funded. The
Melon Foundation has contributed half a billion dollars to this
(15:21):
sort of thing, and for the most part, conservatives have
been asleep at the switch and just kind of sitting
back and watching it happen and not really stopping it.
And that's why it's so great to see the Trump
administration stepping forward and taking these matters seriously. But it's
going to take the kind of sustained effort from those
who believe in our history and heroes to fight against
(15:42):
those who want to disparage them.
