Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Matt Thomas Show with Ross.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Ten on one Age Town. Good morning, and welcome to
a Friday issue the Matt Thomas Showing. Ross. This is
Sports Talk seven. Don't cut off because you don't have
the time to turn left when you were in the
wrong lane. So I was hit one hundred at Lantra
a biac. Shut your ball mess up. So when I'm

(00:30):
maddle finger you just take that middle finger. You don't
middle finger me back. I did nothing wrong. Sometimes when
you get middle fingered, you go to adjust to it,
accept it and move along and don't retaliate. No, oh please,
I bet I will bet one million billion dollar empty
bucks that you have made a mistake on the road.

(00:52):
Somebody has middle fingered you and you have middle fingered
them back. Accurate. What Yeah, that's fine, living, breathing, hepocrite.
Week days tend to two in Rockets games in my life.
My favorite part is how it didn't even take any

(01:15):
pride or pulling.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
You just twitched.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You're like, yeah, you're right, I love you, Matthew. Yeah,
I just want to like that's the natural reaction. You're
so many middle fingers you Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I got you double rids, right, here beat.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
A little charge up today. Six must win games Moscow,
let's go scow game six. Maybe let's go oh yeah, yay. Uh.
Everybody in their mother's like, what do you think is
gonna happen? Like I don't have a crystal ball in
front of me. I'd like to know, but you usually

(01:53):
have a gut feeling. Everyone forms a gut feeling. Ill,
here's what I don't like. Everybody in their mother on
the national side is flipping there. The Ruckets are the
stupidest team ever there there brain dead, they don't want
to win games. And then well because of the the
Game three collapse and the Rockets have had a tough
time and now it's oh Lebron is old, he's cooked.

(02:16):
It's two games in thirty six hours. It's a travel day.
I'm staying away from all that. The prisoner of the moment. Yeah,
sports take seesaw it always we all going back and forth,
we all do. But I feel like it's getting worse,
or maybe I'm just getting older and on rear. Well,
here's the reality. So last night the dogs did not

(02:37):
like the weather or your dogs, my dogs, and flooring
in our Uh, what's their take on the game. I
didn't really bring up rockets. They're like, dad, what are
you gonna be home soon? You hardly have her home
that Sadie had. I'll be going off for thirty tonight. Yeah.
I think Coral thought it was gonna be a triple
double for Reed Shepherd. It's like, okay, dogs, whatever point

(02:57):
being is that they walk around. We have flooring in
our bedroom. Now that's not carpet. So I hear them,
oh you what do you have? Like, uh what lamit
it whatever it is? And so wood uh not wood? No,
no no, uh. So they are they're antsy because they
hate you know, like sawdust down sawdust? Yeah, what about
crush peanuts? Do you want that? Like Texas Roadhouse anymore?

(03:20):
It's alogy season? Can I get to my story? Sorry?
So they run around crazy and I get them on
the bed and so I'm awake. It's think two forty five,
three o'clock in the morning and it's lightning and crackling
all that. So I get on the Twitter streets and
I put the reels on and it, you know, it
goes from one to the next, and it's one Rocket

(03:40):
Laker story after the other because it knows my algorithm
it's you know, it's it's it knows that I'm interested in. Right,
So I'm getting like forty different opinions about this Rockets
Lakers series. Oh really, yeah, everything from it's from from
like Laker Dude ninety six. It's Laker Dude ninety six.
It's Rocket for Life. It's why you hate Durant. There's
Nick Ryding there, there's a Turkish fan, Kendrick Perkins is

(04:03):
in there. You got h oh no, who's the Michelle
Beatles got a podcast persons. I mean it's everybody and
their mother has an opinion about the series, because, let's
face it, it's the sexiest series out there. I mean, I
know Boston Philadelphi takes care of the Northeast side of things,
but I mean, if Durant was playing, I feel more

(04:24):
sexy for sure. By the way, you do not notice
he went from out to doubtful. Okay, is that good?
We're gonna get questionable today? Is that what you're saying?
I don't think he plays Okay, I have no inside information.
That's a little signal that maybe Sunday is not completely out.
That's how I took it, Okay. So a point being
as if they went so raining thunder and I'm just

(04:47):
listening to opinion after opinion, And I woke up this
morning at about seven fifteen, I said, you know what, at
the end of the day, I'm not gonna listen to anybody.
I'm gonna watch the game. I'm gonna call the game
and what happens, what happens. I am not going to
it listened to the Lebron is too old. He's the
second greatest player, or in some cases, the greatest player
in the history of the NBA. I don't think he's

(05:08):
gonna have to play thirty eight minutes and score thirty
one points. But he can win games in other ways
by distributing ball, handling, assist, getting to the free throw line,
all the things he's kind of done when the Lakers
have done well. So far this series. He hasn't been great,
or he has been. It's funny to say twenty five
points from a forty one year old is not great,
but hasn't been great. He was flat out bad Sunday,

(05:30):
So regardless of what we're doing with fatigue or whatever,
it's it's been a couple of bad games in a row,
and hopefully it goes it continues. But if there's one
person on the planet who we shouldn't put stock into
being like every other old NBA person, it's it's Lebron Games.
So and do I think Luke Canar is going to
play a factor in this game? I think so. He's

(05:50):
had two terrible games in a row. I don't say that,
Austin Reeves. I mean, does he feel better now he's
got one game under his wings? Does he feel tired
because it is one game a free throw line and
he's going there fifteen times?

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
By the way, Scott Foster is a lead official in
tonight's game. Yeah, another narrative I'm not going to buy. Yeah,
he's extender. Very easy. If it's if he's the extender
and the Rockets are gonna win, go bet on the game.
You won't lose. Yeah. And by the way, he may
in afer to any NBA official. He'll call him all
names if he has to. Now, Scott Foster, let me

(06:25):
tell you about Scott Foster. Not a very nice person,
a good referee, and I hope that I think smart
people can figure that out. Yeah, I mean he got
a bad beef with Chris Paul. Well, he's just a
rude person. I feel he doesn't treat he doesn't treat
stat Cruise very nicely. Oh is that true? Yeah right,

(06:45):
I didn't know that. This is why we come to
you peach basket for the basketball inside info. This is great.
By the way, did people call me peach basket at
the Rockets game last week? One person? We got a
T shirt? Yeah, if you want a T shirt, I
will be out in the concourse to night Rockets Lakers
and the Corona loungees at Section one thirteen for pregame.
I'll be there from like seven thirty to eight thirty.

(07:06):
If you say Matt Thomas's peach basket, I got a
free Sports Talk seven ninety T shirt for you. By
the way, we are on k TRH at least to
start it, and I guess we're gonna move it over
to seven ninety when the morning news radio KRH unless
I don't know. There's gonna be some bad weather in
Boston or something. That's true though, what's the forecast? I
feel is the the entire country is under a deluge. Yeah,

(07:27):
I think we're I mean it. Look another thing. Today
was not fun to drive in. I just loved early.
You can get to work like. We got a little
nice email from our bosses here, like, hey, everybody, take
the day off if you need to work from home.
Whether it's treacherous, it's good. It's just called rain. And
you didn't rip your steering wheel in half, so good.
I wanted to trust me, all right. Isn't anything goes

(07:49):
Friday here on the program. That means you can call
in about anything you want to. The leash is longer,
certainly on our Friday, more so than it is Monday,
four Thursday. So if you want to join us seven
one three two one two seven one three two one
two five seven nine zero, we've got a busy show
for you. Our friend John Ireland, the voice of the Lakers,
is going to join us at the bottom of the arm.

(08:09):
We'll get his per take on this on this game six.
Coming up today, we have at eleven o'clock Brian McTaggert,
normally with us on Thursdays. Because of the short show yesterday,
he'll be with us at eleven. We have I'm Sorry
at eleven thirty email docable join us. At one o'clock today,
we have non Florida stories, we got hell here or
Not and a couple other surprises along the way. But
we want you guys involved because again, anything goes Friday

(08:31):
gives you a chance to come on in tell me
how you're feeling. Whether it be about the Astros split
performance yesterday against the Orioles, whether it be about the
Rockets game six tonight, whether it be an intense breakdown
of the Texans offensive line. We got it for you
right here on Sports Talk seven ninety, beautifully laid out, Matthew.
Thank you very much. Best coverage in the city we're trying.

(08:53):
And again, Katri is tonight for the game at least start,
because we don't know if the Red Sox Astros game,
you know, that could be way two, So Boddy, any
special guests tonight on the broadcast. I think Ryan may
come by, Uh, we may you know, Craig may come by.
Who knows got a pulper you want to come by
here with them to uh you know, you know what
I would love to do color you want to talk

(09:16):
to about it. I'm gonna do in the middle of Yeah, yeah,
it's probably gonna do the middle playoff game, okay. Uh,
And you know what, I'm gonna come by one day
and we're gonna We're gonna shut off, shove off one
of the atoms and you let me do a game.
You'll have one one will be easier than the other.
H I'll let you figure that out. Hmmm hmmm. Seven
one three two one two five seven ninety seven one

(09:37):
three two one two five seven nine zero. It's in
anything goes Friday here on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
I think to stop me.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
I'm all the way up, all away, all right, Jonathan.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I don't want gen Eric bumps today. I want bumps
to get the city of Houston going. Yes, all four hours,
No no slotching around today from you, you alprin shingoon hater.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Hey, I told you could play. Look at him, Oh
so you're yan. You know what, Let's give you props.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
You've you built him up, yes, you you tore him
down and now you're trying to build him up. And
he only had fourteen points in the last game. But
that's right. I'm sorry, we fall distributor.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
We saw that he can actually help this team out
other than what he was doing the first two games.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
He was five monies clanking off the rim exactly. That
was very frustrating. I'm glad he's turning it around. Scot's
the capability's got to be more consistent. I mean, that's
that's been the Alprin Shingoon story for a couple of years.
You had the bad role in the middle of this season,
right then he bounced back at the end of the season,
and he was bad to start the playoffs, and now
he's bouncing back and he's got to keep it up.

(10:46):
All right, So who's your really quick frig of the phones?
Who's your pick to click in this page? A man
was gonna bring it like he does every night Tory
and Pinney Smith. Okay, seriously, I want a serious I mean,
how about just the bench, some bench production, a couple
of you know, a couple of threes made by the bench,

(11:09):
by everyone. How about at least five threes from the bench. No,
that's not possible.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Why not? No?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I think Aaron Holly did can't get me two? Dfs
can get me two, and a coke can get me one.
The start the rockets are going this series. In my mind,
the heavy lifting's gotta be done with this, guys. But
I want to see a little bit of a bench production. Okay, well,
I mean, yeah, a little bit, you got It'd be nice.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
Five.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Five I told eron yesterday we walked on the planet. Guy,
I said, I need I need the same from you. Goes,
I got you. Oh he's got you. You got me.
That's wonderful. Yeah, that's good. And men, Thompson said, my guy.
When I got on the plane, right, guys, hug we
were eating food, so it was kind of nice spot that.
I mean, Yeah, I guess you could hug in a
food on cocktail sauce on your shirt. It'd be like
more like a chat and cut. But I don't do that,

(11:55):
all right, So pick the click from me? Still wait
four Now, granted Reid had a really good fourth quarter.
I'm waiting for a really good sequence. Yeah, two shots.
I mean the steal was awesome. No, it's pivotal mid range.
I'm looking for a hot read from three. That'd be
nice my pick click on that solve so many of

(12:16):
your problems. Yeah, if he could just go like six
of ten out of nowhere or seven to ten. If
you can go Luke Canard, you're winning the game.

Speaker 8 (12:22):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And I will take another Austin Reem stat line.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Four of sixteen? Yeah, give the free throw on a
lot that's what's just what he does. Yeah, I don't
want the Reeves that has been shooting.

Speaker 9 (12:38):
Well.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I like this Canard kid the last couple of days
not being a huge factor in the series. I'll at
eight and score. I love thing. Oh my god, he's
putting up like twelve foot hook shots. Now they've been
going in a lot. But yeah, and Aden's good and
like they they have a good team. Re Hucha Mura
can be dangerous. We've seen Luke Canard and Marcus they

(13:00):
can be dangerous, Lebron James, I don't need to say
more on that in Austin Reeves. So it's gonna be tough.
It's gonna be absolutely tough. It's absolutely gonna be to
my crystal Ball is cloudy at the moment. Yeah, I'm
not seeing a clear picture of this game yet nor Yeah,
there's still there's no way I can give you a back. No,

(13:20):
I just can't. I guess again, honestly, I was feeling hopeful,
but not overly optimistic. Is that a difference? Helpful optimistic
different things? Well, I guess optimism. Optimism is more about
the outcome, Yeah, Hopeful is more about your mood. Yeah,
I guess you're right. I'll just tell you. I think

(13:42):
Game seven, if it gets there on Sunday, will be
a bloodbath. It will be. I mean, well, first of all,
you'll have the Rockets feeling nice and easy and feeling good,
like we're gonna pull off history. The pressure is on
the Lakers, and then the Lakers like, wait a minute,
we're not gonna blow a three nothing leak for the
first time in postseason history. By the way, worred at home. Awesome, awesome,

(14:04):
cannot wait. You know why, it would really really be
awesome because must win game discourse. You remain solid on
that good times. So we'll see. I mean, I think, hey,
our friend of the show, Kendrick Perkins said must win

(14:24):
for the Lakers, and it flipped. He said Game five
was a must win. I know Game six has got
to be a must win as well, right, absolutely, gotta
be a must win for everybody. Yeah, it's a double
let's win game, must win game, must win game, must
win games. Maybe let's go. We're gonna get you. We're
gonna get you. I don't care. No, I should probably
not fixating on as much as I have, but people

(14:46):
come up to me and stay that like literally at
the at the arena and on Sunday, people are coming
up to me in the pre game. Hey Ross, it's
a must win game. Well you got a bit all right,
I'm not logged in your Let's go to line for
US side A brent in. Where is Groves? Like East Texas?
Where is Growth Groves, Texas? Texas?

Speaker 10 (15:07):
Groves Groves, Texas is south of Beaumont, north of port Ata.
It's usually called Fort and agis Groves.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I got you.

Speaker 10 (15:16):
That's the That's that's the shady part that mufassa talks
about when he's talking to his kid. You don't ever
go over there anyway. But I'm in the northeast right now.
I'm driving from Baltimore to Boston. Had the pleasure watching
the double header on my birthday. It's the double blowout
that we had.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (15:36):
This Lambert kid, you know, he gives me hope from
the bleachers. It looks like he had some good pitches.
He's got a breaking Paul that called it a curve.
I don't know what it was, but man, I had
a lot of travel on it. But the problem with
him and every other astrois picture in the pen is
just look walks that they can't keep it inside the box,
and I guess that's just how it is. For the

(15:57):
second game, MC colors look good. I mean he had
didn't have a diet quality start. He had a legit
quality start.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
You call it a diet quality starry quality start light.
That's I like diet better. It sounds better.

Speaker 10 (16:10):
DQS for And anyway, I'm driving up. The official weather
report for tonight in Boston is clear skies chili.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
They will play ball.

Speaker 10 (16:20):
I had tickets for tomorrow, but I'm gonna have to
go tonight because I'm not I'm not coming all the
way back up here because of a RNA. And unfortunately,
I'm gonna have to figure out how to get k
t r H on the radio. I don't know how
well that's gonna work.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
H Yeah, you're not gonna be able. We're gonna put
on the political shows on the stream, so you're gonna
be all those people get very angry when they hear
rockets basketball.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Oh well, that's unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
I know, I know, I know tomorrow.

Speaker 10 (16:51):
Tomorrow does look like a wash though it's it's looking
like Baltimore did a couple of days ago, So.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
I don't know how they're gonna do.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
I'm not worried about that.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I'm off.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Anyway, y'all have a good one.

Speaker 10 (17:01):
Don't drop off a flyp tonight and.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
We'll see y'all on Monday. Thank you, my favorite, Matt, Yes, sir,
give me favors. Wake up them strippers for me and
an hour and a half my friend, get him ready. Thanks. Hey, Brent, Brent,
same travels. Thanks for the phone call from Brent. Yeah, yeah,
we need He called it a quality start diet. He's
up in Baltimore. Boss, you start light, but it's catching on.

(17:24):
It counts. How about quality start A zero sugar? That's
the that's the more catchy phrase. Now it's uh for
cutting carbs keto? Quality start? Yeah, all right, Let's go
to our friend Terry in Ohio twenty six.

Speaker 11 (17:38):
Hello, Terry, do you have your prune juice today?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Matt? Would you what did you say?

Speaker 12 (17:45):
President?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
What did you say, President Biden? I didn't hear you.

Speaker 13 (17:49):
I said you have your prune juice today?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
I did not. I don't like prune juice.

Speaker 13 (17:56):
Hey, how much your course size seat?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Court?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (18:01):
They are dynamically priced. I have no idea what a
court side seat would cost. You are you gonna try
to go?

Speaker 13 (18:08):
You have the calves. Make it to the finals in
the rockets, make it to the finals.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Okay, you going court side in the finals, Terry, Of.

Speaker 13 (18:18):
Course I do. And let me tell you something, Matt, Yes, sir,
once a week when I called you, he said, oh,
he's probably lying about court size. Seas I won four
hundred million dollars in the lottery in California about twenty
years ago.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Did you really can you send us some money at
the station needs it?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
You know?

Speaker 2 (18:37):
I venmo I figu about the station? Friend about uh? Yeah,
do you have Venmo? Terry? Can you Venmo Sports RV?

Speaker 13 (18:47):
Where do you said that?

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Ross?

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Uh? We said, at the top of the lower bowl
for the media seats in the club. It's not bad.
It's a good seat. You can see the whole game.
I like it.

Speaker 13 (19:00):
Got by Johnson the course.

Speaker 9 (19:02):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
They're thirty, they're thirty eight hundred bucks. So you are
worth four hundred million dollars? Is this accurate?

Speaker 14 (19:10):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Congratulations, Hey, you guys, have a good day. Thank you, Terry. Thanks.
You think Terry's worth four hundred milly?

Speaker 9 (19:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Maybe he is.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Joey B. Well, I got that. The only way to
prove that would be to Venmo me some money Rath
and Boeing Boeing donations, because let me tell you, Jonathan,
if I was worth four hundred million dollars and you said, Matt,
prove it, I'd send you a hundred bucks. I don't
even know. I mean, I wouldn't I know. Agree, I
would send five hundred bucks to at sports r V

(19:42):
on Venmo at Sports MT Venmo. Terry, I'll start it.
You know, I forget about a hundred We've given you
too much, your time, one thousand dollars. I think it's
going to cost you to call the show from here
on out, Terry Terry, whether he has money or not.
American Treasure. Yeah, all right, John Ireland the Voice the
Lakers joining us next here on seven Naty. They know,

(20:05):
they know. Is this the positive song you're going with here?
Is this song on my phone?

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Or no it's not. You knew that. Stop giving multiple
choice as to who's singing this song? Oh Lord, Little Nazi,
Lil nas X, Lil nas X, Little nas X or
Kid Cutty Nope, Kanye West, Kanye West, Poor Drake. Oh

(20:36):
you're doing Drake at the last second, it's Drake. Oh
damn it ten thirty one seven Nati. It is a
Matt Thomas show with Ross. We spend ten forty minutes
with our friend for the second time. Man, I hope
he doesn't ask for a talent fee on this, John.
I don't think we can afford him. John already does
a three hour show in Los Angeles as it is,
and he's a Lakers radio voice, and he's with us
for the second time in the last couple of weeks.

(20:56):
John High like this chamber of commerce weather we're giving
the Los Ange It was Laker fan base here today.

Speaker 12 (21:02):
Well, as you know, Matt, my my second stop in
TV news was in Beaumont, which is about eighty miles. Yes,
and I was there for four years and this was
what the weather was like every day. So I'm well
prepared for that. But first of all, before I yell at.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
You, oh, how are you? How are you feeling?

Speaker 12 (21:23):
Last time I saw you, I was I thought I
might have to send you to the infirmary.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Are you feeling better? Beverly Hills? I got I officially
have a pharmacy pills from the nine O two one oh,
which makes me kind of special. I feel about ninety percent,
and I certainly felt a lot better as the game
was moving along as the Rockets got the victory. So
I appreciate you checking on me, John Ross. I should
tell you John was offering me medication during the game.
What if you wanted me to fall asleep during the game,

(21:48):
or what if the case may be. I don't thin
you should write him out for a federal crime medication.
We talking about it, Ross, It's all over the Okay,
that's fine, except for the sleep gummy illegal. She's like, hey,
calif he called me in the mule for some reason?

Speaker 7 (22:06):
Why I did?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
That?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Was so terrible? All right, Johnny, let's get right to it.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
How just it?

Speaker 12 (22:14):
You want to get right to it. Let's get let's
get to this. Why don't you listen to me?

Speaker 2 (22:18):
All right? I didn't want to listen to you because
I think you were just you would just giving me
full full optimism is what you were trying to do.

Speaker 12 (22:25):
Well, No, I think we both pivot to as most
team announcers do, hope for the best, but prepare for
the worst. Yes, and so I knew what you were doing,
but so the audience knows I wrent into math the
other night and I said, you know, this series isn't over,
and you looked at me like I had lost my mind,

(22:46):
and you went, well, you know, nobody's ever come back
from oh three, blah blah, Matt, you realize you guys
should be ahead three too. If you do, if you
don't give rap game three, hand it to us, you
would be preparing for a party.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
But because the Rockets.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Did that, we've got a shot.

Speaker 12 (23:05):
But I mean it when I say this, like you
can put me on a light detector. This series is
not even close to being over.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Wouldn't you say it.

Speaker 12 (23:14):
Has reached the stage now where it's probably I know
this isn't the accurate number, but in your own head,
isn't it probably fifty to fifty? Like who wins this now?
It would not surprise me if the Lakers won tonight
and ended your season. It would not surprise me if
the Rockets blow us out like the Nicks Hawks thing,
and then it all comes down to a game seven.

(23:36):
There is no scenario you could give me that I
would be shocked. Do you feel the same way?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
One hundred percent of a matter of fact, I spent
the first half hour of the show with the audience saying,
I don't have a feel for this. I don't because
everybody in their mother has flipped the narrative on this.
Lebron is old Canard, can't shoot anymore, it's Marcus Martin's
going to turn the ball over. It's the rockets are
and the momentum I got me Kendrick Perkins talk calinist

(24:02):
the dumbest team in the NBA until the Lakers came
and became a dumbest team in the NBA. I really
don't have a feel for it. What's over now? I
did go to your Instagram account where you were not
working yesterday. Your guy Max Kelleman, who people know on ESPN,
is loving your squad. So tell me how is Max
a good prognosticator? When he comes on your show?

Speaker 12 (24:23):
Max is terrible?

Speaker 15 (24:26):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 14 (24:27):
He is?

Speaker 2 (24:27):
He is a great guy.

Speaker 12 (24:28):
He couldn't pick to save his life. For ten years,
Matt I did the show before Max's Max was doing
radio in LA for a long time with Marcellus Wiley.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
It was a really great show.

Speaker 12 (24:41):
Like most shows in our business, some suit screwed it up.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yep.

Speaker 12 (24:44):
But I heard Max when I was on the plane
flan out here and I heard Max. I think that
a lot of people watching this series, particularly national media,
have pivoted to this. Well, Lebron will never let this happen.
Like Lebron will never blow an OH three lead. His

(25:07):
legacy is too important. I'm here to tell you, and
I'm curious what you think about this. It is not
Lebron that has allowed the Rockets back.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
In this series.

Speaker 12 (25:16):
I know he's made some turnovers, but everybody's what killed
the Lakers in Game five was they got absolutely nothing
out of Luke Canard and Marcus Smart. When I was
on with you last like before the series started, I said,
Canard's the X factor because you can't leave him open
and if you do, he'll light you up. That's exactly

(25:36):
what he did in Game one. I think he had
twenty seven points. So we went from twenty seven from
Luke down to basically zero. And Marcus was actually a
liability and he's been one of our best players. So
I think, as we you and I call this game tonight,
what it may swing on is not Lebron. Lebron's been great,
Ngoon's been great. I know they've both made mistakes, but

(26:00):
those two are going to show up. The question for
the Lakers is do Marcus Smart and Luke Cannard impact
the game. If they don't, you're coming to LA for
Game seven.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
If they do, we could end it tonight. I think
also John Austin Reeves obviously a big factor. What did
you think overall about the performance? I mean, the obvious
box score watching thing was he started off hot and
then he cooled off, but was still getting to the
free throw line. But just in terms of flow, how
he was moving around, how did you feel he played
and can he get into better rhythm at least shooting

(26:32):
from the floor tonight? Good question.

Speaker 12 (26:36):
I actually thought he looked pretty good. At least he
didn't show any signs of the injury and what he's
been great at all year, Matt Is you mentioned it
getting to the line, he got thirteen free throws. As
a matter of fact, for most of the season, the
three guys that were leading the league in free throw
attempts before Austin got hurt were Sga, Luca and Austin.

(27:00):
Didn't normally think of Austin being in that club, you know,
like you would say, well, what about Jason Tatum or
Jalen Brown, what about Yo Kicch? You know what about
Devin Booker. Austin's just great at getting to the free
throw line. And by the way, Matt, did you see
who the lead official is tonight?

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yes, the serious extender. Yes, we already know.

Speaker 12 (27:19):
This, the extender, Scott Foster. The batphone has gone out.
And what Scott's nickname the extender is. He tends to
favor the team that could have their season ended, in this.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Case, the Rockets.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
We'll see you. You know who you are? You I
don't know. I think you're a fraud. I think you're
going on your LA radio show today and I think
you're doing all the other stuff. You're just trying to
placate to my audience. I see what you're doing. I
see what you're doing.

Speaker 12 (27:45):
How do you think I've survived thirty plus years in
the business, of course, that's right.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Let me tell you something. I'm gonna put on the
ESPN LA app but I'm gonna listen to your show
today on how long you're gonna be on for. But
I'm gonna listen. I'm gonna find out exactly this is
the truest stuff you're telling your audience you're trying to
suck up with the wonderful people of a hum in Houston, Texas.
You're not too far from your former home of Beaumont.
That's what I'm gonna find out from.

Speaker 12 (28:07):
You from First of all, thank you for mentioning the
ESPN LA app free in the app store or wherever
you get your apps.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
By the way, Also, John Ireland gets his face on
the screen at the Rossi at the Crypto dot Com,
John Ireland's face is on there ten times per game.
I'm lucky to get a radio call on the big
board at all a Tota Center. They got you in
the highlight package in the beginning. They have you in
in the beginning thing when they're introducing the team to
such a whiner. John's getting more by the way, I

(28:36):
love I love that dream on open.

Speaker 12 (28:39):
Oh yeah, I hope they never ever changed that, Like
I was afraid that they were going to change it
for the postseason. Like if you come to a Laker game,
you'll notice that they they tailor the opens to whoever.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
The opponent is, and so they do new ones all
the time.

Speaker 12 (28:55):
That you know, Matt, you and I obviously get to
go to every arena Yep, that dream on video open
for the Rockets where you kind of get to see
the history of the team and my guy Rudy T's
in there. It is as good of an open as
any team in the league. If I had to rank am,
I'd rank at number one. So Matt, use your power
as the voice of the Rockets. Yeah, make sure they

(29:17):
never get rid of that thing. I don't think it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
Okay, So before I lets you roll, if you guys
win tonight, give me the scenario. How does it happen?

Speaker 12 (29:28):
Well, we kind of already talked about it. I think
the other players other than Lebron impact the game, Like
DeAndre Ayton played great in Game five. I think he
finished with eighteen points seventeen rebounds.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
I'll let you have that, by the way, and I'll
let you have twos over threes all day long, all
day long, right. I think what he may did was brilliant.

Speaker 12 (29:49):
You guys are the best offensive rebounding team I've ever seen.
And he threw a curveball at us in Game five.
He basically told his guys, don't crap the glass like
you normally do. Get back and we're gonna make the
Lakers beat us in the half court, and when that happened,
your length and your athleticism made a big deal out

(30:11):
of that game, and I think it's one of the
main reasons.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Why the Rockets won.

Speaker 12 (30:14):
JJ will adjust to that tonight. I don't know how,
but I'm.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Not so sure.

Speaker 12 (30:19):
Emay might adjust back, might say Okay, that was a
that was a one time thing to steal Game five.
Now we go back to.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Crashing the glass.

Speaker 12 (30:27):
I'm actually more excited to call this game than than
I have for most games this season. I'm guessing you
feel the same way because of what you said in
the what you said in the beginning.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
I have no feel for this either, Matt.

Speaker 12 (30:40):
There is nothing that would surprise me the lake if
like Rockets winning a blowout tonight, Lakers winning a blowout,
I mean, either team wins at the buzzer. I just
think the possibilities are endless, and it's like going to
a movie where you know nothing about it. You walk
in and then you walk out. And like I would
imagine anybody that invested time, maybe he's a Rockets fan

(31:02):
that invested time in Game five. Even as late as
that game was in Texas, stayed up to see the end.
Because everybody thought the Rockets were going to do what
they do and screw it up in clutch time, they
did the exact opposite. They reach Shepherd came out with
that huge steal which I thought filled the game and
by the way, took it a flat, took it away
from Lebron. Nobody had that on their bingo card. And

(31:25):
I've fallen in love. I got a man crush on
Jabari Smith. I think that dude is super underrated. So
I again, no feel at all for what happens over
the next two games.

Speaker 9 (31:35):
None.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
And that's what makes this fun. It is makes it
a lot of fun. You are great sport, one of
my good friends in the league. I really appreciate that
you guy. You and I getting a knowing you other
in the last ten years or so. Have a great lunch,
get a good nap in and we will see what
the arena tomorrow later tonight. Thank you for the time
as always.

Speaker 12 (31:50):
All right, man, thanks and I'll yeah in a few hours.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
That sounds great. John Ireland, the voice of the Los
Angeles Lakers, also does a show on ESPN LA and
I'm gonna I'm gonna look get the app and see
what that thing is going.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Also in La known as one Ireland mustuposed to know
that I'm just making a joke. Let's move on. Did
it fall flat?

Speaker 9 (32:13):
I think so?

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Okay, I want it to be. I think other people
are laughing, but just not you. Oh let me tell
you something. If I don't get it and the audience
gets it, instill a win for the audience. Uh, but
I am intaggered. We'll join us in eleven eleven o'clock.
We're going from Ireland to a Scotch irishman. Yeah. Yeah,
and we're gonna try to figure out what the hell's
going on with Brian Obre You what do you mean?

(32:39):
Not a cleaning a game yesterday? It's all right. Velo
started low, got back up. Speaking of Velo, it's the
Colors v little down a little bit too. Yeah, he
got a quality start. Vehigular not light. Vlo talks seven
Natti coming up in fifteen minutes here on Sports Talk
seven Natti.

Speaker 16 (33:00):
Hell, this is a jam. This gets me fired up.
That's my guy right there, Jonathan? Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (33:13):
I know that this is not them for him?

Speaker 11 (33:14):
You know.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Let me tell you, Sathan, We're not trying to pump
up Matt Thomas. I'm trying to post the city of Houston.
People are sitting in their cars right now. Oh hell yeah,
they are rocket.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Dating number six.

Speaker 17 (33:29):
Baby.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Oh I'm all fired up for Game six now because
of this yacht rock. You think Jamari's junior is putting
this on in the locker room. No, they're gonna come
out flat and lose by fifty if you put this on. Terrible,
all right, Jonathan and Ross trivia time. Okay, the media

(33:50):
meets with the mea with the head coach at six
forty five. So I was in a locker room in LA.
Was just kind of sitting waiting for it.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
All right.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
There was a song. It was one particular performer that
was played for thirty straight minutes before the press conference began,
not for the coach but for the players. They were,
you know, working out and lifting away.

Speaker 7 (34:08):
Was this in La?

Speaker 2 (34:09):
It's in LA? What's what? What performer did I hear
for thirty straight minutes? I didn't know any of his songs,
didn't know any of the songs. Yes, Kendrick Lamar, No,
but you're not far off? Okay, A schoolboy q ab
soul more mainstream, more mainstream, Tupac Shakur, keep going, doctor

(34:30):
dre Snoop Dogg. He's alive. They're both alive. Okay, I
don't who's the live who's dead? Is this someone dead
or the reason something didn't know? Somebody's a lot say Drake,
Oh Drake, thirty minutes of Drake in a row in
La in La. Okay, it gets you hype? Yeah, I
guess that's cool. They play a lot of Drake pregame
at the arena. I did talk to him and Thoms
and I said twin as we were in lying for

(34:51):
food yesterday on the airplane, I said, hey, Michael McDonald,
what a fool believes?

Speaker 4 (34:56):
No?

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Get you going? Shut up? He loved to know the
earl you're a liar.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
You don't know that?

Speaker 2 (35:00):
And a fraud.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Yes, I do.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
I know those two things. Okay, maybe so he loved it. Yeah, yeah,
they didn't put on thirty minutes of Michael McDonald led
Doobie Brothers. I'm happy. I can't believe that doesn't the
voice the team need to be as motivated as well. No,
hear you, you know you're drowned out by crowd noise.
Dang all right, it's not, and the rockets are on

(35:27):
it eight nothing wrong, and then it's a break in
the arena, and then what a fool believes comes on.
Hell no, now you you and I both agree that
money money sucks. No, yeah, it sucks, and it doesn't
that I haven't heard it in the arena in a
long time. Maybe I have an influence in the market.
You never know, You don't know. Hold on, you said
you loved the money money. We used to argue about it.
I don't like it. I just know why it's played.

(35:50):
There's a difference. Okay, it's been phased out.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Good.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
We were glitter still. I was like, oh yeah, game four,
quarter ten fifty four. On Sports Talk seven, Hony Brian
mctagger joining us in a handful of minutes right now,
James on seven, Honty James, good morning.

Speaker 8 (36:09):
Yeah, it's gambling gym. By the way, it's football night
in America. Matt, Texas, Matt. The buck guys aren't the
only team in Columbus. The Houston Gamblers will play the
Aviators tonight at seven o'clock.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Nobody's gonna watch, Jim Ready, nobody cares to watch. Until
nobody cares nobody cares. No, they don't. Astros are on
at six, Rockets are on eight thirty. Nobody's watching the Gamblers.
I mean not a soul.

Speaker 8 (36:36):
Oh they'll be one soul watching.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
I think even Mama Tonguevell always going to watch the Astros.

Speaker 8 (36:43):
Okay, I guys see, I don't think the ratings are
going to go off.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
The charts, but it'll be zero point zero. Thank you
for the thoughts available in four K though. That's cool, great,
great for the three people that care. I like, it's
actually a waste to put something on if it's like, oh,
it's I don't know, some kind of random Big ten
matchup I don't care about. But it's in four K,
I'll put it on. Really him, all right, real quick?

(37:09):
Minnesota UCLA, sign me up the rut Curse Maryland game
four K? I can't wait. Did you you know what?
I speaking of? Watching television last night? I couldn't turn
away from the Hawks and Knicks game. You were watching that.
I watch it deep into the fourth quarter. I went
to go check it and it was like sixty something
to nineteen. I was like, okay, I'm good. Yeah, I

(37:31):
when it gets to that bad of a blood bath.
I want to watch more of it. Okay, the Knicks
got to the there's never been a game. There's never
been a game in the history of the NBA, and
the postseason's gone fifty ah a half. But the Knicks
got it to sixty point late in the second half
and they it's the point differential in a six game
series was also a record. It was like one oh
three or one oh one. That's crazy because the Hawks

(37:53):
won two games by one point, yes, and then they
got blown out like at every other game. Once they
have to one of the series to the Hawk. I
think so, And I was like, what how do you
call that game without just wanting to just I mean,
I would you allow me to have a cold margarita
during the game? You do whatever you want, but I
mean listening, No, I have JD. Davison layups. I said,

(38:18):
Crawford's not eligible for the playoffs. Suddenly got eligible for
some reason, and uh, Jeff Green, this has checked in.
Let's longhorned legend Royal Ivy. All right, Kyle and Parland,
good morning.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
Mister Texas.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
How you doing, my friends, We're amazing. What a fool
believes my brother.

Speaker 11 (38:43):
I understand listen. I'm a little upset though at she's
not you. But uh, why are the Rockets just on Prime?
This is a big game. Why did National TV?

Speaker 2 (38:50):
It's called the thirty NBA owners said Prime cut us
a check, and they said we'll do it. There's one
hundred and eighty two million subscribers to Prime Video. I
believe the latest numbers are that's more than people have cable.

Speaker 11 (39:04):
Yeah, I guess I'm old school.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
I'm a cable guy.

Speaker 11 (39:06):
But disappointing.

Speaker 14 (39:08):
I was.

Speaker 11 (39:09):
You know, I got fine place to watch.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
You got the ideas, Uh, big City Wings will have it. Yeah,
all these sports bars are waking up to this. They're
going to start having Primes in your peacocks and your
your Netflix on in these sports bars. So just they're
they're having to adapt to it.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
T and T is available in seventy one million households.
A Prime Video has one hundred and eighty two subscribers,
one hundred and eighty two million.

Speaker 11 (39:35):
Well, I'm just old school.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I know, I know, Kyle. The only negative to me
is two things, you gotta pay for it and number two,
it's not easily interchangeable. So if you wanted to watch
a baseball game on ESPN or Space City for that matter.
You have to jump off of your satellite or your
cable to get on the streaming. And there are stream
streaming issues, and it just is. And they're not on
a TNTs, not on Fubo. Really yeah, I'm canceling it today,

(40:00):
you know.

Speaker 11 (40:00):
Matt, there is one thing that's good about it. At
least we don't have it type delay like we did
back in the Lake, way back in the day.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
You got that right, Those games weren't even starting with
ten thirty. Thanks for the phone call. Yeah, it's funny.
The eighty six thank you, Kyle, the eighty six championship,
you know where Samson's a shot. Yes, they delayed until
after the news started, so it was a full hour behind.
M hmm. It's different. You can be old school like
like there's not video of Wilt scoring one hundred Like
old school also means there was limited it's it's more
widely available now than it ever has been. Yeah. The

(40:27):
only the number one negative to me is it's kind
of sometimes that's outside of the mind, especially if sports
bars don't readily carry it. But I was at a
my Kingwood Sports Hub yesterday. Three beats down there carrying
it out, and they're carrying it now, so yeah, people
are catching up on the curb. Five locations around Houston
has it as well. Okay, good yet, plenty of places
deep absolutely seven one three, two, one two five. Seven

(40:51):
is the Matt Thomas Show with Ross. It is a
busy and thing goes Friday here on Sports Talk seven.
Auntie and we missed our friend Brian mctagger yesterday because
of the double dip, so we get ten tenty minutes
with him here on a Friday here on Sports Talk seven.
Honti tags, uh, let's be brutally honest. Three point thirty

(41:14):
three baseball probably not gonna last too much longer and
keep people excited about this town. But after the the
disappointment of the opening game of that double huddy yesterday,
the Astrobats woke up and at least were able to
get a split out of those two games yesterday against
the Orioles.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Yeah, I mean, you still can't argue about the way
they're swinging the bats. I mean I think they out
hit the Oriels what twenty seven to twelve yesterday or
something like that in the two games. So it's just
coming down to their pitching just hasn't been good enough.
I mean, it's it's been that way really since after
the first home stand of the season. So hey, it's May,
it's a new month. Maybe they can just put this

(41:50):
behind them. But you know, they're playing a Red Sox
team that is equally is in trouble right now. They're
at the bottom of their division as well, so maybe
they swept them already, so maybe this is a chance
for them to to get right and come home and
face the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
Oh God, that it just makes me sick to saying
that your thoughts generally speaking about the Phillies making a change,
the Red Sox making a change, and naturally the writers
around baseball were like, who's next, and unfortunately the Astros
are on that mix, and that we're asking for endorsement
because I think, you know, Joe has done everything he could,
especially with the fact that pitching staff has been such

(42:23):
a mess with all the injuries. But are you noticing
a trend in baseball in all the years you've covered
that the leashes are getting a lot shorter, even for
guys that have been very successful, like the two managers
just got let go this past week.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
Yeah, I think so, And I think this is the
time of year where we start seeing you know, stuff
like you know, managers getting fired like we have so far.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
I mean, it was I think early May last year
when two or three two or three managers got fired.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
But I don't think it's an NBA levels yet where
it seems like, you know, you have one bad year
and you're out of there. It's complicated because they've had
so many injuries, you know. I'm I don't think there's
anything Joe could have done differently. I mean, I think
if he has a healthy team last year to make
the playoffs, if they have a healthy team this year,
they're certainly in better shape than they are now. So

(43:10):
I'm not sure what a difference, you know, making a
change would do at this point. Jim Crane has never
done that kind of thing in the middle of the
season anyway, So there's still a long way to go.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
And you know, let's see if they can slowly start
getting healthy.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
You know, Penya could be back next week, maybe they
can start digging their way out of this. Because the
division again looks like it's it's pretty mediocre, so all's
not lost. They still have what one hundred and thirty
games left, so a chance to you know, is barely
made first So in another month this could look a
little bit different. So I don't think we're to that

(43:45):
point with any you know, making a change with the Astros.
I don't think it would make much of a difference.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
I don't either. I don't need it out at all.
But you mentioned the bats Yard and Alvarez. I mean,
if you were to take an MVP race, as he
tops in the list of the American League side of
things so far.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
I mean, I think what's going to be difficult is
if they do end up having a poor season and
they finished in the last place, and he has he
puts up these kind of numbers and hits forty plus homers.
Is he you know, is he's Is he gonna get
votes on a bad team? You know, that's probably gonna
hurt his case a little bit. But he's He's already
got twelve homers, which his career high is thirty seven,

(44:22):
So he's almost a third of the way to his
career high through April, and he's he's mashed in Boston
in his career. He a couple of years ago, he
had a you know, a four hit game here, next
next game had a three hit game. He was injured
last year when they came to Fenway, But this is
a park where he sees the ball really well, so
he's got a chance to fatten those numbers again. But

(44:43):
uh yeah, if he can keep this up, he's got
a chance to to put his name to the top
of some Astros record books. You know, I think Bagwell's
single season home run records. If he can stay healthy,
it is something that I think could be in jeopardy
because he's he's on a pace right now to hit
fifty plus home runs.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
Brian McTaggart MLB Astros dot Com with us here on
at Sports Talk seven ninety. As we do often, Brian,
I will ask you a state of the rotation yesterday,
I mean, before the wheels fall off. I mean, Lambert
took no hitter into the fourth inning and was looking
pretty solid, and you got a quality start from Lance
mccullors Junior, but his his velo is down. It feels

(45:20):
like even when guys are on the feeling like they're
on the right track, something goes wrong. Yeah, I mean, yeah,
it was a quality start.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
For Lance did have the nine strikeouts, but yeah, the
vlow downs not ideal. I know Lance said he would,
you know, substitute the movement on his pitches for the
v low and you know maybe he's still you know,
trying to figure out how to make things work with
the stuff that he has nowadays. But yeah, nothing really
feels good about the rotation other than the Narragetty who's
won all three of his starts. Lambert was like, like

(45:51):
you said, was good, but not great. They just need
guys to get get deeper, and I think the guy
that really needs to step it up is Burrows tonight,
and it's it seems like he's really close to me
to giving them the kind of start then he'd go
in six or seven innings. He just you know, a
couple of starts ago he were sent down, I think
the first fourteen and then things kind of fell apart

(46:11):
on him with some walks and stuff. So yeah, they
they just got to start getting guys go deeper and
then you know, maybe Emi comes back after one more
rehab start. Certainly did not look good in double A
the other night. I didn't see it just looking at
the line. So lots of issues in the rotation and
those are really really hard to fix.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
And uh, but that's kind of just you know, where
they're at at this point and also becoming a weekly
theme what's going on with Brian and bray You Velo
was down, it did tick up, but of course overall
the outing not what you wanted to see.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
Yeah, still walking some guys, you know, giving up some
hard contact. I know they're trying everything they can to
try to get him mironed out. And I mean you're
pretty much pitching a reliever short because you can't really
you know, trust him in any tight games, and they
play a lot of tight games.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
So I'm not sure where. I'm not sure where that's
gonna lead.

Speaker 1 (47:02):
And I know it's very frustrating for Brian and it's
also you know, a walk year for him, so you know,
he could be a free agent at the end of
the year, so you know that that's got to be
in his head as well. But certainly they again, if
they're gonna get this thing turned around, you know, pitching
is where it's got to happen. And getting Brian to
Brey You back to the old Brian and Brei you
is as important as anything they have and you know,

(47:24):
including you know, getting hater back maybe later this month.
So they they're just have to keep running them out
there until he figures it out.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
We talked about Veilo a couple of times in our
conversation here, Brian, when you hear a guy goes from
ninety three to ninety one or ninety six to ninety four,
is it just in our nature to get warm worried
about whether or not there is URM issues or can
just guys be trying something different and or maybe guys
is off a tick on a particular starter in appearance. Yeah,

(47:54):
I mean, I think the number one thing is is
he healthy?

Speaker 1 (47:56):
And I mean and those are questions, and I mean
Brian was asked that question direct, you know, after I
think his last outing in Minime that didn't go well,
Are you healthy? He said yes, And so I thought
it was really interesting that he said that he he
doesn't have a lot of confidence in some of his pitches.
You know, he's he's not throwing many strikes. So I

(48:17):
think that's playing into his velo a little bit. You know,
maybe there is a some kind of physical thing there
that we just don't know about. I think from a colors.
It's just a matter of you know, all the surgeries
he's been through, basically a couple of Tommy John's, and
the wear and tear on his elbow, and he's just
trying to figure out different ways to get guys out
at this point. And he's never going to be throwing
ninety six ninety seven again. So but if he's ninety

(48:39):
three ninety four, that's plenty good enough. But he wasn't
there yesterday, so I think he's still trying to figure
it out as well. But these are all these are
all issues that they hope they can fix on the fly.
Here they're gonna have to be sooner or later, are
this you know, this thing's kind of going to get
away from them.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
All right, let's get to Jeremy Payna update what you
know is at this point and also what's the future
for at least the next week or so for tetsu Emi. Yeah,
Paya is back with the team.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
I guess he'll be in Uh he was in Baltimore,
so he'll he'll be here in Boston this weekend. You know,
he grew up in Providence, so he'll have some people
at the ballpark probably, but uh, it looks like he'll
be on a rehab probably next week, so I think,
certainly maybe after the Dodgers series they.

Speaker 2 (49:22):
Get him back.

Speaker 1 (49:23):
I don't know how many games he's gonna need, probably
no more than two or three, so he looks like
he's pretty close.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
Em they're gonna give him one more start.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
I haven't seen whether that's gonna be a double A
or triple A at this point, but he's just gonna
have to go out there and put up some results
and get some guys out or they got a big
issue on their hand with him as well, because they
invested a lot of money in him and he was
I got it. They were plugging in the middle of
the rotation and so far I spent a disaster. So
this will be a big start for him, I think,

(49:51):
to see if he can get this. He can just
get himself back on track and get back in the
big leagues and see if he can get big lead.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
Hitters out and as far as offense is concerned, and
we you know, again it's been a really good season
for Jordan. The Cam Smith home run was a big
part of it. What's going through Cam's mind right now?
And I'll also throw Bryce Matthews in a mix. Is
there two guys that frankly, Dana Brown has got a
lot of value in hoping that they are successful and
if they've not been, and there's been ups and downs

(50:19):
more downs and ups, that that doesn't necessarily make things
overly great for this lineup with two guys that have
so much invested in the future of this team. Yeah,
you're right. I mean, those are two of the key
acquisitions for Dana Brown so far.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
I mean his first draft pick, Bryce Matthews in twenty three,
and then Cam was sort of the centerpiece of this trade,
the Kyle Tucker trade.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
And you know, Cam's always working on things.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
I think he's working on some things with his hands,
but if anyone needed a home run like that, it
was Cam Smith. So maybe he can start building on
this a little bit. And yeah, they need to get
him going. Goes without saying I mean that the book's
still out on Bryce again. He's working on some things
as well. But as we say all the I think
the first game in Baltimore, when when when he hits

(51:03):
the ball, I mean he the ball flies off the bat,
He hits the ball really really hard.

Speaker 2 (51:07):
He just has so much swing and missed, and he's
got to cut down. I'm at somewhat.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
I'm interested to see you if Zach Decenzo, you know,
he's he's been on rehab. Looks like he's starting to
swing it a little better if he comes back, and
maybe they send Bryce down and let him play every
day and try to work things out there and then
maybe take a look at him later. But you know,
I think certainly that you know, he's he's got to
hit better. I think to keep his spot on this club.
Once they get a couple more guys back from the
Angel list.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
All Right, I always gonna ask this when I travel.
So it's your turn. What is the one or two
must dos for you in Boston, Massachusetts?

Speaker 1 (51:42):
Well, I got to get some uh lobster rolls. You
gotta do that, and uh, I always walking. I found
a good walking trail. I walk across the bridge, across
the river back through downtown. It's like a four mile
little loop. So uh, in fact, I'm gonna do that.
Once we hang up Mat, I think I'm gonna going
to get some lobster rolls and going on a nice
low walk.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
It's like fifty two degrees outside, so fifty two. All right,
So the number one here, The number one question is
do you do a lobster roll with mayonnaise and cold
or do you go butter and warm? Main or Connecticut
style is what they call it. Oh, it's I don't
know which which is which, but I like it. I
like it to be warm. I don't like I mean,

(52:22):
I can eat it cold, but I like it warm.
What do you guys? That's Connecticut style?

Speaker 9 (52:26):
I do?

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Answer is both, Brian, I do the mayonnaise and cold.
You would what do you mean? That's terrible? Hot with
delicious butter mayonnaise. They're both good.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
I like them.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
I like them both if I'll eat them both if
you put them in front of me, but I would
probably reach for the Connecticut one first, which is butter?

Speaker 1 (52:43):
Same, I'm the same. Yeah, I'll eat both. But yeah,
the warm with the butter. That that sounds really good.
I'm now I'm really really hungry.

Speaker 2 (52:50):
All right, Brian, get a good walk in. We want
to see a YouTube or a Instagram Let's get a
walk in. Come. Let's get you more active on those
social streets. My friend follow on Instagram. I'm posting videos

check out my Instagram for tags plus tags plus.

Speaker 2 (53:12):

Speaker 17 (53:39):
No?

Speaker 2 (53:39):
I Don'm not lying. Can we make sure one holds?
I want to answer that. I wonder what he's got
to ask a question about? Four K Okay, while we're
going to you right back when we come back, we
have a I'm sorry, it's coming up in fifteen minutes. Oh,
get your list out. I don't have a list. You
should be writing a list. What do for a lot
of things you said have done? I didn't do? Jack,
you want to say you're sorry. That's in fifteen minutes

(53:59):
here on Sports Talk seven seven one three two one
two five seven.

Speaker 14 (54:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (54:05):
This is sweaty, these weak arms and a heavy eat,
his vomit on his sweater, a wady mom spaghetti.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
He's nervous, but on a service. He looks calm and ready.
Did drop bomb?

Speaker 9 (54:15):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Yeah, clock any more than this song would give it?
You're wrong, give us the uh. You gotta give us
the pa intro for this, Matt, and now everybody on
the floor he.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
You stuff.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
There it is Jonathan. I'm coming out after you. You
don't get it done, I'll come down there and yell
the crowd and you're ready to go. I'm about the
p a head on if I need to. This is
uh Now did did Justin Verlander use this or till
I collapse? I can't remember. Maybe it was both. You
gotta lose yourself in the moment. Matt, I know.

Speaker 6 (54:56):
Shot eight mile give you ready six never. I can't
talk about that. I never saw it, actually, I know,
I know imminent was Yeah is so wrong. Look, I'm
people love it. It's not like I'm intentionally avoiding it.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
I just never got around a scene I A'm watching
the Knicks beat the Hawks by sixty. I don't have
time for a movie. You have plenty of time for
a movie. You you watch your soap operas and all
your lifetime movies. You got time for movies. I didn't
watch anything except the basketball last night. How about Minnesota, Denver?
How about Denver? Gonzo, Your gut feeling's wrong. Gut feeling

(55:34):
is wrong, l and Nicola Jokicz. Just like if we
were living in Survey, we'd all be fired. Yeah, now
he's gonna he just wants to go back and brush
his horses. Yeah, he doesn't care about the basketball. I
mean likes him and I love it. I mean he
does a great job. He's like the guy that hates
his job but does an excellent job. Hmm. Sounds familiar
on these parts seven one three, two one two talking

(55:56):
about Wexer. Of course, No, wex loves it. Es loves
his job. You're kidding. You see all the press conferences
he goes to. You think he said the alsiers, I'll
share press conference today. What time is it noon? Yeah,
you don't need to go.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Guys can go up there and brag about how much
money's making it. Yeah, it's yeah, big, why not? I mean,
this is making everybody's going to brag about how good
money they're making. Yeah, that's how press conferences go when
somebody signs an extension. I'm not holding a press conference
because nobody can. Nobody knows who you are a large
scale who's more known around the city Aziz alsha Ere
or me or mister Kingwood. No, mister Texas, you're not

(56:35):
mister Texas. By the way, the my oldest is on
a road trip to op to Abilene and New Mexico
for a trip. Oh you're taking credit for that, I'm sure. Well,
I mean I got to make sure to give him
the place to go and eat. And see where'd you
tell them to eat? An Abilene cheesecake factory? Yeah, exactly,
the Abilene the steak barn. I don't know, mister Texas.

(56:59):
He says, all right, let's go to the phone. My
my toggle is not working here, very okay, So if
you want to punch up a line through it. Where's
he going in New Mexico? I don't know. He's gotten
some work. I don't even know where it is. Carlsbad To,
I don't okay, I googled for like best Mexican food
and new Mexican there, like it's not thinking I can
find it that good one. What is your question about
four K stuff?

Speaker 19 (57:20):
Go ahead, Yeah, guys, I just had a question for
real quick because I'm rolling too all that FOURKI. So
man about me in my TV or whatever, you know,
and I can go to watch these games and sometimes
the qualities are like, dude, really, like I thought I
had four K. Turns out some streaming services don't actually
provide true four K, and so then I'm over there

(57:42):
paying extra for Amazon Primes thinking I'm going to get
four K, but I mean the game still doesn't. Let
call that crazy to me, you know, right, it's like
a brand new Samsung TV or whatever.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
So I'm or what kind of what do you got?
A Q lead?

Speaker 4 (57:55):
O lead? No?

Speaker 7 (57:57):
I got a old I got an oleg.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
What do you got S eighty five S ninety S
S ninety five S S F the SS I believe?
Yeah eighty five F Okay, that's good. Yeah you should
be better in the O lad. Now it depends on
what what service you're using. Four K has some peacock
has some stuff. What service do you have do you

(58:23):
have the high speed Do you have the high speed
HGM my cord? I guess you should. You need it
to the TV actually too if you're using the apps, Yeah,
soure look good. Make sure you're depending on go to
This is what you need to do. You need to
go put Google custom the best settings for your TV.
And there's a website called our Ratings. It's R T
and G S. They'll have the best settings like mine.

(58:44):
I think I have an S ninety five and I
need to put it in like filmmaker mode for the
best settings. Make sure you're using the best settings. And
then yeah, you could also pull up a setting that
makes sure you make sure it's in four K. Okay,
you said r T I n G S r T
n GS. It's like ratings but without the vowels. Okay,

(59:05):
but what about the Texans offensive line? Concerned?

Speaker 4 (59:07):
Joe?

Speaker 2 (59:07):
No, No, So put be a best settings and then
just put your TV. Just put s eight five F
for whatever you got. I guess I got you, all right,
Good luck. We're here to inform and entertain folks. Jonathan,
anybody else out there, Friday, shut your my mess up?
Anything else you want to talk to? You for five seconds.

(59:29):
Let's let's talk some tech talk, some TV, some four
K TV.

Speaker 4 (59:35):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
Here's the thing. When I get a four K TV,
I'm gonna come to you, as Sam, you should. I
ain't ready yet. I gotta pay. I gotta pay for stuff.
I still still paying for stuff. Uh, headline four if
you don't mind. Tray in Sugarland here on Sports Talk
seven on eleven twenty six. Tray, good morning to you.

Speaker 7 (59:57):
Well, good morning guys.

Speaker 17 (59:59):
I uh was listening to tags. I was looking at
this yesterday, and notwithstanding all the injuries to our pitching
staff which we had last year, also the three starters,
one of the big changes this year from last is
our pitching coach, Bill Murphy has went to Pittsburgh. And

(01:00:20):
you look at what Pittsburgh's doing this year, and with
their young pitchers, they're having a lot of success. And
I'm scratching my head wondering if he might have something
to do with our guys this year not being very
effective and not able to throw strikes. A huge fall
off obviously from last year to this year with similar

(01:00:43):
injury dynamics. Just an interesting observation.

Speaker 11 (01:00:49):
I was wondering what you guys.

Speaker 10 (01:00:51):
Thought of that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
You know, I'm gonna be really honest with you, Trey.
I don't get into the weed of assistant coaches, Frankly
and anything except maybe football. When it comes to offensive
and defensive coordinators. I think hitting coaches get way too
much credit and pitching coaches get way too much credit
when things are going right, and when things are going lousy,
they're the low hanging fruit to get fired. So I

(01:01:16):
can't intelligently speak to you about what the difference is.
I just know that teams like to make changes occasionally.
Tiant guys get to get other jobs, get promotions. And
you know it's funny who was the older guy that
the Astros had for all those years, Brent Strong, Brent Strom.
So Brent Strong, Tray leaves to go to the Arizona
Cardinal Arizona Diamondbacks, and everyone's like, the astros pitching staff

(01:01:36):
is going to suck. Well, guess what they did. What
year or two after he left, they won the World Series.
So I don't put Frankly a whole lot of influence
on the position coaches. Let the players do a lot
of the heavy lifting. The problem for me this year, Tray,
and you can agree to disagree with me on this
is this is not a very these these you got
a bunch of arms, but you didn't get a lot

(01:01:58):
of bunch of proven arms. Jason Alexander is a four
A player. Weiss never played in the major leagues until
this year. Colton Gordon, I mean we're talking about I mean,
they're also nice people, but they're just guys. There's a
different guys made to start. When you lose Christian Hobber,
who was supposed to be your future at number two,
and you lose Hunter Brown for this length of time,
and tatsu Emi had this great track record in overseas,

(01:02:23):
those are the types of losses that I don't care
if a pitching coach comes in and tries to reinvent
the wheel for the eighth or knife guy in the group.
There are the eighth and knife guys for a reason.
So I again, I don't want to throw anybody under
the bus, except to say that just because you have
depth doesn't mean it's great depth. You just have depth.

Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
That makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Does that make sense to you? I mean, you tell
me if you want to argue I'm almo for it.

Speaker 17 (01:02:45):
Well, well, you know, we had we had triple a
depth last year or too that came in, and you know,
they were very effective when our frontline starters went down.
We lost three starters last year. That's fair er Daddy
and and Blanco and Wesnski and uh. Then we all
of a sudden had a bunch of gun guys come

(01:03:06):
up and very effective in the lineup.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Yeah, I mean, you know, again, I don't think there's
much to it, but you never know. I mean, the
behind the scenes, something that may say, Hey, I don't
like what the guy is saying, I don't like I
miss we miss having guys around there used to be around.
I understand that. I just at this point I cannot
necessarily blame anybody from the instructional side of things, especially
because a were a month in the season and b

(01:03:31):
how do you instruct so many guys that are being
put into these huge important situations when they weren't supposed
to be in these situations begin with? Because of all
the injuries.

Speaker 17 (01:03:41):
Yeah, well, you know, I guess maybe the one guy
in particular that there's a head scratcher is a brave
you know, he from one year to the next, he's
a completely different pitcher.

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Yeah, he's a big head scratcher. He's got to either
be I don't know, hurt or something's wrong. And by
the way, Pirates eighth and ERA this year. Last year
there were seven, so they're about where they've been. Well, yeah,
there you go. Yeah, thanks for the phone call. Thank you,
appreciate the phone calling for great WEEKND you know again. Yeah, yeah,
go ahead. I'm sorry. I just I'm not with the

(01:04:12):
team every day, and there's no way I could intelligently
just speak of Oh what they're being told is bunk. Yeah,
And I don't ever want when I when I am
we talk about hitting coaches and pitching coaches, I don't
ever want to try to communicate that. I'm I think
they don't matter. That's not what I'm saying. But I
just think the players matter more than anything like that.

(01:04:35):
Guy's not going over to Pittsburgh and teaching Paul Skans
how to pitch. Yeah, either you have the talent or
you don't. Yeah, I mean, let's be you won't be
really bruly honest. They thought Mike Burrow was this Burrow
was a sneaky, awesome pickup from the Pittsburgh Pirates. You
know what I'm saying, He's rounding in a form like
Brian McTaggart said, Okay, he's close. All right, let's say

(01:04:57):
see start tonight, I must win start. No, it's not
oh see, I'm even stopping you from saying it because
I'm joking. People don't understand this. You're actually right, because
Christian and Lamark called me in the postgame was like, Ross,
you're the one always champion, must winning back like no, no, exactly,
being sarcastic. Yeah, seven one three two one two five

(01:05:18):
seven ninety if you want to jump in seven one
three two one two five seven, and it's time for
you to say I'm sorry, and Lord knows you gotta apologize,
especially Jonathan. You'll be starting off our apologies next eleven
thirty one on Sports Talk seven ninety Yep, this is
the time Jonathan and Ross come to you for the
next twenty five minutes and ask you to utter these

(01:05:41):
very simple words, I'm sorry, so sorry, we are fools.
Ten to twelve or ten to two Monday Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday,
we take a half to apologize for said mistakes. Friday's

(01:06:02):
at eleven thirty on Sports Talk seven ninety seven. One
three two one two five seven ninety. If you want
to chime in, if you want to say sorry for
something you've said or done this week? Seven one three
two one two five seven ninety bross. Do I owe
the audience an apology for anything I've done this week?
I'm sure you do. You lie in the first segment

(01:06:24):
about something? Are you lied about? Oh you're lying about
a men Thompson loving what a fool believes? Yes, that's right.
About others? You should you should have actually did Jonathan
played that song? Not a pump up song. Look, folks,
apologize to that. I lie to you. It's not because
I'm trying to be mean. It's just easier. I'm sorry, Okay,

(01:06:44):
I'm so sorry, so sorry. Like when Terry calls in
great to have you on the show. It's not really true,
but I just it's easier to say that. I think
I'm saying. What do you want?

Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Gambled Jim is terrible call to anyway with some others. Oh,
gambler Jim needs to apologize. Yeah, just bad. I mean,
I really I've defended James tried. It's not even though
he comes after me for my Longhorn phantom. That's how
one biased. I try to be. I still defend him.

Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Obviously he can be snarky and douchey, but this gambler
bit's too far, James. It's just not good. It's bad
for the show. Yeah, so gambler, Jimmy, I apologize. By
the way, Orlando says, thanks for the four K t tips.
You're welcome, Orlando, thank you for listening.

Speaker 6 (01:07:32):
You know what, you can apologize that, mad Yeah, you apologize.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
I'm sorry that we did not give the four K
run a greater run. Oh I'm sorry, John. What are
you apologizing for?

Speaker 5 (01:07:42):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
You know it's raining out here today. You get here
to work on Tamblough. I'm very happy for you, you know,
because the.

Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
Last couple of times it's rained, I'm just cruising and
next thing, you know, no one knows how to drive
and I'm stuck behind and getting late to work.

Speaker 14 (01:07:54):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:07:55):
But today I kind of had to manove myself, uh
huh in front of a couple of cars.

Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
Oh, and I hope you got fresh tires. I do
have to slide, you know. Uh, I just I just
I'm embarrassed.

Speaker 6 (01:08:10):
But I want to apologize to the eighteen wheeler because
I don't I don't plan to cut people off, right,
it was raining, We're.

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Gonna cut somebody off to eighteen wheelers to go to
because they go so slow and all.

Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
This the water is splashing. I'm not trying to you know,
slipping slide. I got you, so, I just I cutn't
all real bad. He had his horn.

Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
They're blocking your view.

Speaker 6 (01:08:29):
Yeah, any contup to me and I kind of felt
hysteric going down to my car, you know, to really Yeah,
and you know, man, I.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Just watch out. He's got the high ground to.

Speaker 6 (01:08:38):
That Walmart eighteen wheeler. I apologize. I'm trying to work
any mental finger you not. You know you ca can't
really see what you can see him. If you did,
would you have mental fingered in back?

Speaker 9 (01:08:51):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Oh okay, you need to apologize for that being a hypocrite.
YEA last week said she had your mom ass up
for middle figure me back, and you said you do
the same thing. Yes, right, apologize. No, everything is an
individual case. Worst you know what, I have your wife

(01:09:14):
calling in this and say things. You need to apologize. No, no, God, no,
it's you know what. She's in reno right now. That's
not gonna happen. I'm sorry, my daughter. By the way,
she's very upset that I'm not with her, oh for
her last weekend. Yeah, I thought the squad wasn't very good.
Obviously your daughter's amazing. Do not put that out there.
I thought you said last time when you said it

(01:09:34):
on air. I don't remember that. No, I just wanted
to be there and I can't because I got the rockets.
But that's okay. She understands. And by the way, I'm
booking these airfares go to run Island, so trust me.
I went to your play a bunch of a yeah,
so she ows me an apology for making me feel bad.
Brosse what you got. I had a small piece of
furniture delivered. It's not heavy, and I was like, I

(01:09:56):
didn't know if I should tip the guys or not.
And then by the time I decided, I tried to
run them down try to give him ten bucks, and
they they had to pull off in light speed. They
said it was their last delivery of the day. I
swear to you, I tried to give them ten bucks
and I did him in hall a little bit because
I wasn't sure if I was supposed to. I was like,
what's the I was literally googling it. When I was

(01:10:16):
googling do you yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:10:20):
Dollars?

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
It wasn't heavy, It wasn't like it was a big
couch or something. When I moved my apartment, I gave
those guys twenty bucks apiece. It sounds like he makes
other people tip on the cart there.

Speaker 14 (01:10:32):
Know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:32):
I felt so bad because, like I said, I had
to google it.

Speaker 7 (01:10:36):
You know what you are.

Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
You're a tip shamer who doesn't tip. No, I'm not,
I swear to you. I'm sorry. I didn't know the situation.
First of all, as I said, when I had my
apartment moved, I gave those guys twenty bucks apiece. There
was three of them, Okay, I tipped them for moving stuff.
I didn't know if it was just delivering an item
that it wasn't that heavy. I could have done it myself.

(01:11:00):
And then by the time I was like all right, fine,
and literally the reddit post said do or don't, it
doesn't matter. The reddit post demian stay to do it.
So I wasn't sure, but that I literally walked as
fast as I could. They got out a light speed.
So people on running are cheap bastards, they just are
and a tip.

Speaker 9 (01:11:17):
So I know.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
I know, well, I didn't know what the etiquette was,
but you're right, and I still went to.

Speaker 9 (01:11:21):
Go do it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
I went to go do it. How do we know? Sorry,
you're gonna have to trust me. Why would I bring
it up if I wasn't going to No, you wouldn't
at least a minute. I'll give you credit. I didn't
have to bring this up. Yeah, you didn't. And that's
part of the reason why we we we opened ourselves up,
probably too much for the show because you'll probably know
too much about me because I am sorry. But but

(01:11:43):
it's a cleanser.

Speaker 17 (01:11:44):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Let's go to Roger on seven. Roger, what are you
apologizing for? Oh?

Speaker 15 (01:11:50):
Yeah, I kind of jumped a gun last last the
last time when the rockets we were down three long
and I told we want to come back, and gladly
I'm apologizing for that because you do behold, we have
a game stick here, uh and I desarves roughly the
peas and fellows followers thank God by the name of
Nothing or something like that. Yeah, God, ped I apologize

(01:12:14):
for that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Roger, Roger, Roger, Roger, Roger, are you calling us curiously
if you don't get a better phone. You can't call
the show anymore. You can price for all you want to,
because that's a believe it or not. You know, he
sounds perfectly fun every time.

Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
When I was old, what's going on?

Speaker 14 (01:12:27):
Then?

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
I don't know. He's spelunking. I don't know what's what? Splunking,
cave diving here? All right, your phone sucks, Roger, apologize
for it.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
All right, let's go. You gotta apologize for something. Let
me hear from you A seven one three two one

seven eleven forty four. We're gonna wake the strippers up
in fifteen minutes. Goodness, and we have emailed Oak at
one o'clock. We have a little m one twenty wonderful.
We get nine Florida stories at one thirty and the

(01:13:04):
hell yeah, not what Austin reeves? What Urie at Chamura,
uh Daniels, Nicole Okic, he likes playing basketball? Not he's
gone fishing, eleven forty four on Sports Talk, Savanni, come
on and join us seven one three two five seven Auntie,

(01:13:25):
and please say you're sorry. No surprise the Rockets updating
your injury report. Kevin Duran officially out for tonight's game
number six. The Youngins will go tonight second youngest lineup
ever to play in a playoff game and the youngest
ever to win a game. I think is what it is? Wow? Yeah,
twenty three years old on average. No, Superstarson is the

(01:13:49):
oldest of the group. I thought Tarry was. No, I's
been in the league a year longer. Maybe wise, Okay,
I'm true, Yeah maybe so? Yeah, that that sounds right?
So all right, uh on deck. Yeah, he's twenty three.
He'll get twenty four in July, and Tari will be
twenty five in May. On MAYTX And yeah, I broke

(01:14:13):
Brevetari's agent at dinner in Los Angeles at a night
Oh really yeah, pregame media meal in the dining room. Yeah,
I didn't know until somebody told me. But how's his
mom doing? She wasn't theirs.

Speaker 7 (01:14:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
I need to ask you? Said hello, he said, can
I sit that?

Speaker 9 (01:14:25):
And sure?

Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
Sit down? Do you ask you to pay? It was
media meals free? Oh okay, you know he missed out
on some hash You packet watching me? No, I'm not
pocket watching you, pocket watching the guy who've had his
client bet on himself and lose. You know what, I'm
sorry to the Easton family for that. Yeah, I apologize.
You know what, one more thing, go ahead? Can he

(01:14:47):
make some money back on this tournament and then this
playoff run? I guess yeah, probably not. Okay, what else
you said? The Rockets put it out that they they're
going to match whatever. Yep, they'll try to leverage that way.
I'm sorry Jonathan for not having one state mile yet.
He was very upcssed. Thank you. I know, it's just
a blind spot when it came out in and watch
it and then as you didn't get around to it

(01:15:08):
winning too. I'm surprised, I know, I said, I'm sorry.
You are a movie best song for Lose Yourself. I
gotta look at it. Don't hold on. It's not like
the movie is great though, acting's amazing. Okay, all right, yeah,
best original song for Lose Yourself. Last calls from I'm

(01:15:28):
sorry seven one three two one two five seven ninety
David in Vegas on seven hoy David, good morning to you.

Speaker 4 (01:15:35):
Well, Hi, good morning guys.

Speaker 9 (01:15:36):
I was actually on hold with a different kind of
a question in the spirit of anything goes Friday, So
can I say I'm sorry for being in the wrong
segment and ask my question.

Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
Anyway, I hurry off it is knock it out, go
for it.

Speaker 8 (01:15:49):
Listen, this is I just where.

Speaker 9 (01:15:51):
Yesterday I actually watched not one, but two double headers,
and I watched both halves of both double headers, Nastros
and Giants, and I noticed that in between games the
teams completely changed uniforms and changed uniform styles between games
one and two. I just wondered how long that's been

(01:16:11):
going on, because I just I didn't think that growing
up anytime I saw doubleheader that these guys came out
completely re dressed. And I remember in the old days
he tended to only have one style of home uniform
and one style away uniform. Yep, and now these guys
have I have six different styles, So I understand how
you can do it. You notice it my Giants came
out wearing the same style, but they still may have
been different clean uniforms for the second game. Do you

(01:16:33):
have any historical perspective.

Speaker 4 (01:16:35):
On when this might have changed? How long they've been
doing this.

Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
For double headers?

Speaker 9 (01:16:38):
Great, I tried asking her.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
It's a great question.

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
Away.

Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
Yeah, they don't have an answer for you.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
They don't. So intelligence couldn't answer it.

Speaker 9 (01:16:44):
So I need I need humans, you.

Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Know, Chad GBT can't help you. Sports empt can the realities.
There's no answer to it. It's the reality is actually
nineteen seventy four, Willie Stargol, he ripped his jersey and
the game won, and then the whole team agreed to change.
Is that true?

Speaker 5 (01:16:58):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Okay, you know what people think. You're telling the truth.
So you're sorry. What is wrong with you? You just
super lied and he made it sound very viable. That's
why I believe it or not. It's a little successful.

Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
That's terrible. No, the reality is this. They have a
lot of uniforms, they have to wear a minimum number
of each, and they figure a clean uh pants and
clean shurtal health. Yeah, there's really no reason for it
except that the you know, Major League Baseball teams can
wear I think as many as forder clean clean UNI
look good, feel good. But yeah, back in the day, guys,
you know do you'd see somebody sliding into second in

(01:17:37):
the first game and then they they lead off the
next game, but dirt all over. The Astros changed their hats,
they changed their uniforms. Well, they lost by like ten.
I'm assuming they kept their pants on because it was
great pain unless they put on But maybe they wanted
to change up the juju because they get their ass
kicked in game one. No, you you have to tell
them ahead of time. Why because if the other team

(01:17:58):
wants change your uniform too, you can't have who teams
were in the same color uniform on the field. Yeah,
I guess you got it. You can do something to
still road. I can go from gray to blue. Yeah,
but you typically you were the great pants on the road.
You know, most times I got a clash with the Orioles.
That's true. But if you wore the dark blue Astros

(01:18:19):
with the black Ools, it could be confusing to sell. No,
that's blind people, legally blind people. Second base umpire swipe tag.
You never know. Staying with me on this, No apologize
the Royals are wearing all blue. Oh one morse apology.
I had the Rockets losing Game five by ten. Yeah

(01:18:42):
we did. I didn't you know? I put that on
the Bolton border. You made do because you did?

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Good, They're like, well they haven't work. Then Rockets lose
by ten tonight? Is that what you're saying? No, I
think they're gonna win. That's my gut feeling at the moment.
Am I going to l and tomorrow? Three trips to
LA in one week? That's crazy, That is weird. Yeah,
it's not like run around the corner. Well, I mean,
I guess in on road trippy fly a lot too,
but you're yo going back and forth. It's the same
exact spot. Yeah, all right, well that happened in the season.

(01:19:08):
Then they come home and then go from Denver and
then go back to Denver or something like that. Well
we had Denver twice in a week with New Orleans
in between. That was a flicking playing game tournament thing.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
Last thing before we wake the strippers up, Kevin and appareling. Kevin,
what are you apologizing for? Kevin?

Speaker 14 (01:19:24):
I'm apologizing to Ross for not calling in for such
a long time.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
I'm I'm the advocate and supporter of Ross getting his photo.
Thank you the website. I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
Can't believe it was all because of me.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Yes as to why it finally occurred, and.

Speaker 14 (01:19:44):
Also want y'all to apologize for Ross not doing the
Excuse me, we haven't had a double one care for
a while. I know that it's usually organic, but if
y'all can manufacture it but make it seem like it's organic,
it just makes me.

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Feel good about the show a little bit better. That's
all you'll haven't got you.

Speaker 14 (01:20:05):
See.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
The problem is when you when you say to somebody,
tell me something funny, it doesn't work that way. Yeah,
tell me a double joke. Yeah, tell me a double on.
Try it, dondre. It doesn't work when it organically happens.
It'll happen, right like when they call you fourth full
throat Thomas something like that. See that doesn't work. Oh
it works, Thank you. There we go. Hmm. Okay, first

(01:20:32):
two hours flew by? Yes, a great guest. The rest
of the way. Where's your non Florida story from? By
the way, By the way, somebody sent you a non
Florida story that I was going to use.

Speaker 9 (01:20:39):
You use it?

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Are you sure?

Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
If you want? It concerns mac and cheese. Are you
okay with that?

Speaker 14 (01:20:45):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
I did see that one? Go ahead take it? Are
you sure?

Speaker 9 (01:20:48):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
This is a good story?

Speaker 4 (01:20:49):
Yes? All right?

Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
So my my non Florida story involves mac and cheese. Yes,
eleven fifty eight. That's like the strippers up next on seven.

Speaker 9 (01:20:56):
Ninety's The mac Thomas Show with Ross.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Sper twelve three h down.

Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
Good log.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Bar in tower three of the Man Thommy showing Ross
This is Sports Talk seven ninety dipping his wick? Excuse
me what and then putting out stories about your injury
being happy? Is that a movie reference? I don't know about.

(01:21:53):
All right, let's move on.

Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
All right?

Speaker 9 (01:21:55):
Good.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Have you ever heard that phrase kipping the wick? Yeah? No,
it sounds like something you would do with a candle.
Have you ever Have you ever dip your pen in
company inc? It's similar to that? Is it really?

Speaker 4 (01:22:11):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Okay I have? I did it only in the last
time you dipped a pen in ink seventeen seventy six. Yeah,
I don't think so. Does that maybe was that phrase
dipping your pen and company ink anymore? I think so?
I mean I didn't know what it means. Let's put
this in twenty twenty six. When of the movies heard it?
If you know what that phrase means, no, neither of them.

(01:22:32):
Oh okay, let's see if you can figure it out. Okay,
try to guess. Yeah, get an Idea'll see how close
you are? One to ten? Dipping your pen in Company Inc.
What do you think it means? Take your time. We
had the news in noon coming up here in a minute.
But rot's gotta figure out what I was wan't talking
about first.

Speaker 6 (01:22:51):
I'm thinking dipping your ink in company dipping your pen
in company Inc.

Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
Nobody says it much anymore, but it's still a phrase
here occasionally. Oh this is good. Okay, so company, that's
a good thing you get. You know, I would not
say it's a good thing generally speaking. It's not bad.
I mean it depends. It depends. It depends on how
you feel and how God anymore you're giving it away.

(01:23:20):
I don't want to do that.

Speaker 6 (01:23:21):
Depends on the quality of the ink. I'm okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
So it's not PG thirteen I thought was thirteen. No,
it's the act itself is not a PG thirteen. It
PG thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
What do you mean? What are you going? R Oh yeah, no,
but it's a reference. Yes, all right, you get a guess.
Let's do it. We can move on here dipping your
pen and company ink. We'll talk about women rights. Yes, that's.

Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
That is the answer. Is having relations or relationship with
somebody that you work with in the office place.

Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
It's another saying that, Oh, please update it for us.
Go ahead. No, I can't. I can't think on the
spot right now. I gotta, I gotta, oh google it. Okay, Yeah,
it seems like a good idea, but it's not. Usually
people that dip their pen and company are usually married,
but not always. You get she knockered at the Christmas
party and make mistake. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(01:24:21):
You know what, you learned something new every day. I
kind of like this. I dipped my pink in a
ink and a company freezer once as an eye on
high school. I'm lost. Yeah, don't worry about it. You
sound like a depraved human being. That was when I
was younger, you know I was. I was much more
mischievous and younger. Now I'm growing up, making it like

(01:24:42):
federal crime. We're talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
What you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
No, I just have to assault. No, it was no,
it was it was consensual for sure. Oh yes, it
was twelve or nine. Oh never mind. Time for the
news at noon. Rossell, Yes, Matthew, Yes, yesterday he got
not one but two Astros games. Astros in Game one
get crushed ten to three body Baltimore Orioles. Peter Lambert

(01:25:11):
was good, took a no hitter into the fourth inning,
but then Wheels came off a little bit. Then two
grand slams by the Baltimore Orioles, including one that just
left the glove of Bryce Matthews. He was very, very
stressed out about that, but they bounced back in a
big way with a victory in Game number two. They
won that one eleven to two. I'm sorry, I just

(01:25:31):
closed the box score eleven to five. Wanted to make
sure I got that right. Eleven to five victory for
the Astros. Now they're twelve and twenty on the season.
Jordon freaking Alvarez with a home run. Also had three
hits in that game, as he just continues to tear
the cover off the ball, as the kids say. Also
got a quality outing from Lance mcaullor's junior. His velocity

(01:25:54):
had kicked down, but he only gave up three earned runs.
Also got nine strikeouts. Season ERA six point three to two.
Not ideal, but he has had a couple of quality starts.
Hopefully he can continue to hold the glue. As the
Astros are now in Boston tonight, it feels like we
say this every game, Matt whoever is on the hill starting,

(01:26:15):
it's you want to see some improvement, and it's a
it's a big start for Mike Burrows, as big as
it can be for May first. Well, it's the first
month of Hey, you've been a new Astro, new responsibilities.
Now it's time to be the guy that I think
the Astros started the trade four to begin with. Yeah,
so we'll see what happens there. Also, your Houston Rockets
with their backs against the wall. That is a must

(01:26:37):
win game for the Rockets, their fourth or fifth in
a row, depending on who you ask, must win game
in this series, game number six, as they are now
holding as three and a half point favorites against the
Los Angeles Lakers. As Kevin Durant has been upgraded to doubtful. Nope,

(01:26:57):
I thought you said no he was doubtful. Now he's out.
I thought he was the other way. No, I thought
he went from out to doubtfil he went from out
to doubtful back to out. Okay, so he back, he
went upgraded and then got down. Gread correct, I'm sorry, yep, Okay,
there you go. So Kevin Durant is out. Maybe that
means there could be a glimmer of hope if the
Rockets win in Game seven. I'm just gonna let you
folks know now they will not bench him if they

(01:27:20):
make it to Game seven and he is available. Yeah, seriously,
you guys are a bunch of idiots. Are the Rockets
better with Kevin Durant? Have an IQ of six for NBA?
Please Jesus God, there's so much stupid there's First of all,
we got water carriers for the Texans. We have dumbass
rocket takes out there. This city needs some help, Thank god,
Ross and I are here. It was a smash draft

(01:27:42):
for the Texans, ten out of ten. Now, there's not
a single person that gave a draft grade and follows
a draft that did that. But hey, some people in
this town are giving them a ten out of ten.
I'm going to go to Texans dratt and coverage and
that shut up. Texans. Wake me up in August when
the season starts. Are you okay? No, I'm in a
rocket and astroment aneurysm one of these days, maybe so,

(01:28:03):
but you'll be there to rescue me concerned. That's fine,
I'll call nine one one, I guess you try to
give me CPR at CPR training. I did it in
the boy Scouts. That was like thirty years of johnn
You got CPR training. That was like, I think, oh
my god, I think we've learned more heart science than
thirty years. So my methods might be outdated. And Sea
Day's drout have an extra tight end on this team.

(01:28:24):
Let's go send one three two two five seven. They
got Merlin Olsen or whatever his name is. No, it's
not Merlin Berlin Olsen, Berlin Bayalin Berlin. They didn't draft
Merlin Olsen, did not. It was a bad choice. Next
man up, Marlin Klein. Excuse me? Tightened out of Michigan.
He's been he's been blocked by Colson Lovelin and the

(01:28:45):
boys out there in Michigan. He's got a lot of talent.
Was it a reach? Just ask Nick Cassario, Nick and Nick,
we trust.

Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
Its CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Shriding. The league quarterbacks have one three two, one two
five seven nine. This is interesting. I feel like Sportico
has come out of a list has given out the
values for WNBA franchises. Oh really, this does Timer want
to say this? Well, he's paying what three hundred million
or whatever. Yeah, well, good news for him. The Golden

(01:29:19):
State Valkyries are on top of the list, valuated at
one hundred and eighty fifty million dollars after they put
eight hundred and fifty mil for the for the Golden
State Valkyries. I'm stunned by that number.

Speaker 9 (01:29:35):
Me too.

Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
They posted a WNBA record seventy eight million dollars in
revenue in their inaugural season thanks to a sicket, a
season ticket base that topped ten thousand dollars, and of course,
plus sponsorships. All right, congratulations the Valkyries and also the
comments are apparently locked up in some kind of trademark issue. Yeah,
apparently Travis Scott has the name to Houston Comments. Travis Scott. Yes,

(01:30:00):
he's gotta let him have it back, right. I would think, well,
he's gonna say cut the check. Well, he probably is.
Cut the check and you can have the name. All right? Uh?
Time out for one non news note, okay, that I'd
like to get the both of you to rule on. Okay,
one wonderful. I would like to offer you a subscription service. Boys,
would you like to hear about this? I'm sure you
would Unlimited medium French fries. From McDonald's for twenty dollars

(01:30:24):
per month. Oh my god, you people are sick. What
do you think? Can we get some I think you
should not do that. You can get something with some
nutritional value, and you go to on the curb dot
com get some organic vegetables. Come on, man, now, I
say this, McDonald's fries are the absolute best. Everybody knows that.
It's really not disputable. I just don't know that I

(01:30:45):
can if I would want to justify eating twenty dollars
a month in fries from from one place, one can
feel like you get your money's where it's gonna have
to go there at least ten times.

Speaker 6 (01:30:56):
Well, imagine you got twenty dollars left and using it
for you want us for gas, diapers, and then it's
McDonald's the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
First and you got to trade some French fries for gas.
I never thought of it quite that way. I will
trade you now, size four D. I can't pull up
and order ten large fries. What's the what are the
it says the condition it's just says. McDonald's is reportedly
planning a subscription fry service, offering unlimited medium fries for

(01:31:22):
twenty dollars per month. I bet you that's a lot.
I can't do unlimited because then I would go ask
for one hundred medium fries and then you can just
go give them all the homeless people in town. You
feed everyone on twenty bucks a month. My guess is
once you go into a McDonald's at the location once
per day, see, that's not alloted. But but if you
go to five McDonald's, like there's there's uh, there are
three McDonald's in Kingwood, you're a degenerate. I can knock

(01:31:44):
out three orders. Well, we used to. We work with somebody,
well sort of work with somebody. They would go to
Chick fil A's and get free food from each of
the Chick fil As in the same day. You call
them out and then they blocked you, and they also
blocked you too. Yeah, thanks, you get the sub block right. No,
that's that's outrageous. I mean, I will want you who
it is, but I have in the past works gotta

(01:32:07):
be blocked on all platforms just for sitting here. I'm like,
I thought we were friends. No, and I saw him
the Barry Manelee cut I saw at the Barry Manilo
Concertot you ever mentioned that he blocked me. Yeah, friends,
when he was trying to chatting cut so he was
he was a chatting cut berry manlow fraud fan. And
then when I bring up the fact that he's going
to Chick fil A's four different places in one day
and chatting cutting at and mothers in New Orleans, which

(01:32:29):
is not the place of chatting cut, I got be
hones with you. They'll toss you out of there, that
they will, all right. Seven one three two, one two
five seven Naughty em Doka joints us at one o'clock
one thirty nine, Florida Stories, hell ye are not at
one fifty What is our category for hell YEA are
not what you figured it out? Oh, there's a Golden State.
Valkyries is not. It's gonna go either like your players

(01:32:51):
or Michael Jackson. The movie is out for a week now.
It's doing quite well, ninety seven percent audience score. Well
I can ask for twelve seventeen is madd and Ross
seven one three two one two five seven ninety If
you want to chime in seven one three two one
two five seven ninety, this is a jam? Is this

(01:33:18):
song on my phone? Jonathan?

Speaker 17 (01:33:20):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Absolutely, it is wow? Yes, all right, Well, white stripes
coming at you. Ironically enough, this is the song we
used to use the introduction of the Rockets when I
came back through the PA about just ten years ago.
It was more of like a kind of a remix techno,
not techno, not a house but like, yeah, it's a
good one electronic remix. I'll say, all right, so, uh,

(01:33:43):
we have Rockets and Lakers tonight. But I got a
pull question up now. It's uh, it's a biased pole
question for sure. I'm going to presume that most people
that are listening to the show, or I've been getting
no voltes on my polls recently, really see I think Twitter,
Twitter is like, uh, yeah, I've only got seventy five votes.
You would think it'd be way more than that. Uh,

(01:34:04):
sixty nine percent of people believe the Rockets are gonna
win tonight's game, thirty one percent of the Lakers. It's
only seventy five votes. That's nothing. Come on, let's get
that to like seven hundred and fifty. No, Like I said,
I think if you don't pay for the website now,
they're really throttling our impressions. So what are they gonna cost?
What is it gonna cost? Me, no to. I think
it's like seven bucks a month or something, maybe more ten.
Why do I want to give a toxic website my money? Exactly?

(01:34:25):
I know, because you want to reach your audience. I mean,
so it's a give and take. Because we're in the
media business. If you're like a regular Joe or you
don't have a if you have a business or you're
in the media business, it makes sense probably write that off. Okay,
I'm gonna I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna verify myself
and pay for it. I just talked to you and
do it in five seconds. Didn't take long. Because I

(01:34:46):
do want to get a better a better feel of it.
So if you want to funnel my account at sports
empty hoo, do you got a gut fill about Rocketslaker's
By the way, Scott Foster's of fishing is elite official.
He is the extended, not matter, he's the extend. He
is extended. He is the extender. Go bet the rockets
and you won't lose, regardless of the point total money

(01:35:07):
line it. Yeah, it's people when you when you when
they say I guarantee something's going to happen, you said, well,
I guarantee. You then go put it on them on
the bare head up to the betting. Then no, baby,
that's all you gotta do. That's right. I do it
and I lose a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
But I went a lot too.

Speaker 4 (01:35:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
By the way, but Vegas folks have not gotten this
series right yet. It feels like I except for Game five,
think the Game four. It was the only time the
Rockets were favored In Game four by two and a half,
they won. The only time the favorite is won is once. Also,
though Matt all five games, the team with the best
three point percentage has won the game.

Speaker 14 (01:35:42):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
That was an the little thing I listened to during
the Rockets trapday. Wow, thank you Rockets are three and
a half point favorites. Not that that means anything, means
a little means they should be better. Yeah, let's go, baby.
You got a game six tonight in Orlando between them
Pistons and the Magic. If the Magic beat the pis
since it's an eight beating one.

Speaker 4 (01:36:02):
J B.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
Bicker Saphlos is a job. MM probably no track record
of any sort of postseason success and they won sixty games.
There are some kind of injuries that what I'm not
aware of I don't think so. The Magic or forty
five I need to pull up to like the series

(01:36:23):
and Carol Carter? Who am I missing on that group?
I don't know. Raptors and Cavaliers play side?

Speaker 9 (01:36:30):
Is there?

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
What's their name of their coach? And the Magic coach?
He's been much malign. They're talking about how toxic it
was Mosley?

Speaker 4 (01:36:36):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (01:36:36):
I can't remember. I know it, but I can't remember.
I mean, you let him go if you beat the
Pistons and go to the Eastern Semis.

Speaker 4 (01:36:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Got the Pistons get bounced to Jim Moseley yikes. Cavaliers
and Raptors playing games six, Cleveland up three to two.
Can James Harden win a playoff series? Can I say something?
See what happens with the Rockets and the Lakers. But
if it's the Lakers, which that the odds say it is,
they have two shots to two chances to win one.
I was all psyched for Round two of West, especially,

(01:37:10):
everything is getting ruined. I wanted to see Spurs Nuggets.
Now you're gonna get the Timberwolves without Anthony Edwards, who's
got a bone bruise so he could miss another week
or whatever. Vincenzo's already had his literally had his achilles ripped. Kaotasuma,
who's been really good for them is didn't play last night,
and yet they still won. And if the Rockets win,
there's no guarantee of Kevin Durant. And if the Lakers win,

(01:37:32):
it's already been reported Luca's not gonna be ready for
the start of that series. So I think the chalk
pick would be Oklahoma City versus San Antonio. Yeah, but
I thought the round two was gonna be like two
couple of knockdown, drag them out series. Yeah, but I
don't think a lot of people had Denver losing to Minnesota.
I know, but now everybody's hurt. They got a three
one that would be fun fully healthy Minnesota. I'd be
more on board with Y's fair. That's fair terrible. Uh,

(01:37:55):
you know, I ain't worry about Thembody else, I'm worrying
about the Rockets. Okay, also go sixers ooh to knock
off the uh ceth Celtics. Yes, because that was my
h I think my gut feeling was some about the
Celtics aren't going to be the strongest and then next
do enough to become the Eastern favorites because of the
way they dissembled. This annihilated the Atlanta Hawks. Maybe the

(01:38:16):
Pistons are out of the picture. That's going to be huge. Yeah, uh,
you know, look I don't I think largely Houston has
checked out on other teams, not naming Houston, which just
forgot that. But we like and well again and now
that I said, you're supposed to be these sexy, knockdown,
drag out series and then there they've just been ruined
by injuries. No, it'll be a huge turnout. Fact, is
it feel we're going baseball in this?

Speaker 14 (01:38:37):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
How are we feeling about? Like do we need more
sample size on NBA injuries? Everybody's getting hurt. All the
top players got hurt in missignificant time this year. Are
we going this is pacing space and people are pushing
their bodies too far? Or are we calling this a
one or two off? Well, all right, let's localize it
for a second. If Durant plays sixty games this year
and takes an occasional night off, does he bone bruise himself?

(01:38:58):
Does he turn an ankle? I mean, we don't know.
That's that's the problem. To answer all these arguments, we've
got to go into multi verses. Was his ankle stronger
at eighteen less games? I can't predict that. How We
don't know, because it could happen in a practice, which
the bone bruce took place at practice, the ankle happened
during a game. Man, Yeah, I mean he's just stepped

(01:39:18):
on somebody. If you I mean, if you really want
to hold something back, you don't you take your chances
by playing him only in games, you know, practice? Well,
that's just not realistic. How to operate a basketball team?
Go Rockets. Yes, I will tell you. If this game
goes to seven, it will be an uncomfortable environment in

(01:39:41):
Los Angeles. May that it'd be good. I think it'd
be great. I mean the crowd that quiet over there. Yeah,
it's funny people ask me about that. It's never allowed
crowd to begin with. I think the crowd just from
a broadcasting standpoint, from my ears, I think T and
T did a better job of integrating the crowd to
and ESPN. Oh yeah, the game was on ESPN, but

(01:40:03):
it sounded lower.

Speaker 4 (01:40:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
I think you did something different. Yeah, I don't know.
It sounded like there was they didn't want to move
for it sounded dead in there. Well, The Rockets is
a really great game. Yeah, that helped exactly they they did.
They were beating them down. But just like from watching
some of these games, it feels like that you can
never tell what's going on with the crowd mic. But
it could just be the environments.

Speaker 9 (01:40:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
I wonder if that's somebody at the league office saying, hey,
turn down, turn up you you do you got to
feel the energy? Yeah, you didn't feel it at night,
but it's hard to feel games when you're in bed
at eleven o'clock at night, aren't And then eah, you
may be feeling something else. I don't know, like what
the warm touch of your girl, heartburn, that's true. It

(01:40:44):
could be all the above. Acid reflux, yeah, indigestion. You
can be indigesting baby. Man, why you're serving me those
burritos with a hot green sauce. I don't feel so
good girl. Go to break twelve thirty two. I think
I gave me hit a nerve of Johnny que Johnathan, Yes,
Sir Jabari Smith came out and hear this song. Gotta

(01:41:10):
knock down those middies, occasional three rebound hand in the
face of Lebron James. The key to a rocket six
Game six winn is simply a genre, a lifestyle of thoughts.
It's time tam Ross. Hey, yeah, Toto's got me fired up?

(01:41:37):
Should we're gonna get fired up? I flip on some Toto.

Speaker 4 (01:41:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
I mean it's a good song. Good, I'm glad you
like it. MIT's America songs. It's not like a pregame jam.
I don't know unless you're pregaming for your bruise cruise. Well,
when you're doing the pregame show tonight, I'm in the
arena and we'll hear how much total you here?

Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
Zero?

Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
Yeah, I know the zero DJA will take care of me.
DJ will Paul Walls, and I going and playing Toto.
Is he doing halftime again? I don't know who's doing halftime?
Y'all get through the arena, by the way, at eight thirty.
None of this nine to fifteen crap. I mean, the
problem is both Game six, both teams don't do a

(01:42:25):
good job agetting the arena. And I believe, I will
believe that for this game that the crowd will be
on time. It's Friday, it's a late start Game six. Yeah,
chance to see history, chance to extend the series when
no one thought it was be extended. Yeah, you'd like
to be the the fifteam ever to force game seven.
Now all four have lost, which is a bad argument

(01:42:46):
for mister momentum guy. If you'll win three in a row,
you got all the momentum. Well, they're own four. It's
funny thing, you know that up until what about ten
or fifteen years ago, it was best of five in
the first round. It's been over right now they would
have gotten swept. I like the best of seven. I

(01:43:06):
mean it's it's more games. Obviously, it's more money for
the league, but also you find out who the best
teams are, and it feels like the series has gone
on forever. At less two weeks of a first round series.
You get the best team wins the championship barring injury,
of course, more in the NBA than anywhere else.

Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
And that's what I like.

Speaker 2 (01:43:23):
Press. I like when the best team wins. But sometimes
sudden death is not bad either. But that's part of
the charm of the NCAA tournament. Yeah, it's part of
the charm of the NFL playoffs. But then you got CJ.
Stroud those four picks and you're done. And it hurts
always bringing it back to the Texans, aren't you. No,
not always, but it feels that way. I mean, I

(01:43:44):
should do seven game series in the NFL would be fun,
like six months of playoffs. Everybody's hurt by the NFL.
I mean you really, you could do a double elimination
if you have in the Champions League of Soccer, you
have the postseason as long as the regular season. Only
though you said that you know the playoffs. This is
the second week of his series. We're not crying a
champion until what second week at Yeah, it's crazy. Then

(01:44:08):
before you know, you have the draft and you just
summer league and then you're back to training camp and YadA, YadA, YadA.
So that much more impressive to me that Lebron James
made like nine straight NBA finals or whatever. It was
very little time off, crazy, very little time off. Astro
started a series of The Red Sox tonight and Mike
Burrows you were kind of talking about it, and I

(01:44:29):
don't know if you were being facetious or semi serious,
is this isn't a make or break but it's you know,
it's kind of time for you to show why the
Astros went and got you to begin with right to
be established, especially because this team does need some LinkedIn,
it does need some success of a starting pitcher. We've
given you some grace, we give you some time time
to kind of work through things. He's somewhat shown some

(01:44:49):
flashes and a couple of starts. Now it's time. It's
a year a month in times start pitching. Well, it's
time to start proving Dana Brown right because right now
Dana Brown's not looking so great. If you're Dana and look,
let's face it, I don't think he nor Joe a
Spot are particularly uncomfortable in their skin right now, they're
in their seat. Your seats are a little warm, seats

(01:45:11):
are warm. I don't know if it's a again, I
don't know what you would do. I don't know. Philadelphi's
gonna be a different baseball team with a new manager there,
with Don Mattingly taken over. Probably not. It feels like
their replacement crew in Boston's not going to change things
up there. You got to be very careful when you're
an owner or a general manager to make a move,
because are you doing it because you really think the

(01:45:33):
guy is that your leaders has lost the room, that
he's lost the message, Or are you doing it because
you're trying to place the blame on somebody else when
it really is your fault. If I'm Dana, I am
not asking for Joe a spot to take to get
the hook on this at any point this year, because
only Joe can do what Joe can do, and that's
been handled the players handled the players that he's been

(01:45:54):
given for his roster, and so far Emi has been terrible.
Burrows has been disappointing. Who else Bryce Matthews, who they
had a lot of faith that hasn't done the job.
Cam Smith has struggled. Where would this team be frankly
without Christian Walker and jord On Alvarez, which are things
we never thought we would bring up the conversation. Christian

(01:46:15):
Walker signings look a lot better this year, Yeah, that's
for sure. Cam Smith trade looking pretty good. Of course
it's the Kyle Tucker trade. But by Way had a
game winner to Kyle Tucker a couple of days ago
for the Dodgers. He had a walk off, but he's
still not hitting well. Nope, Cam Smith had a bomb
East like Paratus is a hidden He had like three
or four, I think four or five hits yesterday.

Speaker 9 (01:46:35):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Oh, it's not about the offense this team. If this
team's gonna get back in the race, it's gonna be
because of some assemblance of health, which would be obviously
Hunter Brown getting back soon. Christian Hobby are coming back
at some point in pitching. Well, the problem is Brian
and Bray you there's nothing to blame except just flat
out performance right now. It's terrible. And even if you did,
let's say you wave a magic wander, you have a

(01:46:58):
healthy Hunter Brown. Eric Getty's been good, but it's still
a bunch of question marks after that. And we thought
it was all a great great depth. M it's been depth.
It's not great depth. That's unfair of those guys. But
the reality is you're being clumped in together in one group.
He might have been bad and hurt and Burrows has
been He's been bad. Yes, I mean your area's over
six year bad. Stephen Oakree, you can't really rely on

(01:47:20):
him much anymore. You got it, you got hit hard yesterday,
Alexander got giving it around. Yeah, that's why baseball bullpens
are so hard to really say, oh, we got this
taken care of, because one year the aster a bullpen
can be fantastic for you, the next year it can
be a hot mess. And right now that's true. I
think a lot of the problem. The reason why the

(01:47:40):
bullpen is not very good it is because you're asking
guys of being leverage situation you're not supposed to. You
still haven't seen Josh Hand throw a pitch yet. Your
eighth inning guy is not even really playing at all. Yeah.
That it's like with the Rockets what we're talking about.
They're missing three rotation players. That means you're your nine, ten,
eleven guys have to move up to seven, eight. So

(01:48:01):
when Hater's out in a bray, you's out, that means
you're yeah, you're eight year seventh inning guy is your
closer or they're just doing it by committee in Yeah,
Del Santos way too many high leverage situations. I believe
his nickname is claimed off Waivers, like he's been the guy,
he's been your best leverage guy and he's been giving
up runs. It not arguable you were asking for too

(01:48:25):
many guys that have not either never done it before
or have no success in doing it, and that's going
to get important outs. And to what you were talking
in the first game, geez, yeah, to what you're talking
about before that. That's why to me, I think Joe's
spotts should be safe. And it's not because we have
him on the show on Tuesdays, because it's because the
team look decent. People. We realize it's not his fault.
We're paying attention people who aren't watching the games and

(01:48:48):
they're just looking at the standing So like, oh you
got fire Joe's potter man, Joe's pot of terrible. Watch
the games, Look what's happening. Look who's out there. You
can't be a dumber astro fan on Twitter when you
say fire joe'spo you just can't be Well, he didn't
have Jason Alexander get more outs. The only thing you

(01:49:09):
can think of are sometimes managerial changes, flip switches. It
doesn't happen a lot, but it happens some, and it
takes a It takes an astute general manager or ownership
group to say, I think us flipping a switch can
spot can fire these guys up. I think that has
more to do though, with also with like position players

(01:49:31):
and the team as a whole when it's only the
pitching that's not doing their job. If you really want
to upset the apple cart, maybe it's going to We
were had to call her earlier asking about the pitching coaches,
and I think they're they're still doing a good job.
They just yeah, they haven't turned Peter Lambert to cast
off from the Rockies and then into Japan. They haven't
turned them into to an ace the something that Peter

(01:49:53):
Lambert is going to be a hero for this astra
rotation until the main guys get in. Yeah, that's asking
way too much of Peter Lambert. You're getting a bunch
of guys from Japan and Korea, some that were born
there and some that weren't. It's gonna be a mixed bag.

Speaker 6 (01:50:06):
Oh, we gotta we gotta talk about something when we
get back from the break. Oh boy, hasn't another clip
out there?

Speaker 2 (01:50:10):
Oh, Jabar's got a clip twelve forty five Sports Talk Sevenati.

Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
I won't have a mine mine mine shame. It's so weird, all.

Speaker 9 (01:50:25):
Right, So.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
You gotta help us out here. We're doing live radio. Jonathan,
you found some audioces from todays shoot around. I'm assuming
like after it's a little presser before the game. This
has happened today, you know, there's for sure fact this
happened at twelve twenty eight. People trying to make sure
you don't play something from like six years ago. Now
this is recent. All right, give us the context, and

(01:50:47):
Ross and I will be listening to this organically for
the very first time.

Speaker 6 (01:50:51):
Context is basically them asking about what's gonna go. And
if you think asking Jabari, do you think you guys
have game seven? And this is his response to that question, apologize, Yeah, I.

Speaker 18 (01:51:03):
Won'tont to think about I won't even think about game
seven right now. We just think about game six. We
think about tonight, think about doing the things that we
gotta do to win, put on a show for our fans,
represent the city. Well, we're not thinking about game seven.
We'll think about it tonight and we gotta pack our bags,
but we're not we're not thinking about it right now.
He's worried about game six, worried about the task in hand,
and and uh, yeah, we're worried about tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:51:25):
We're not thinking about game seven. Good, we pack our bags.
We'll be worried about game seven. Oh wait a minute,
you're really gonna take to pack our bags stuff going seriously,
I like that taking this. You gotta look at the
NBA central there locked. Yeah, they're terrible. What are they saying?

(01:51:45):
Cocky arrogance? Yes? Did he not pack it up? Is
he always going to back it up? Or at least
try to? That was We gotta we gotta, you know,
and we are guilty of this in sports media. We
want the generic answers. We complain about the generic answers.
We have somebody that says something spicy, then we complain
about that. We are we collectively as a sports media

(01:52:07):
universe and me, I don't think the fans particularly care,
but we have sports fans. We get really grumpy or
media with every response we get. But wouldn't you if
he's Houston? What do you not want this?

Speaker 4 (01:52:18):
This?

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
It's fun? Does not want this right now?

Speaker 4 (01:52:21):
Ok?

Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:52:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:52:24):
What if Austin Reeves said this? Who cares?

Speaker 9 (01:52:26):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
I'm gonna give you some behind the scenes Baltimore material
right now. Oh, go ahead, I have booked a flight,
oh from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City on Monday. Yeah,
but you can cancel it. I don't ruin the bit
he got non refundable, then I'd be impressed. Damn you
Ross ruin it. The reason for that is because the

(01:52:49):
Rockets would the presumption is we would go from Los
Angeles Oklahoma City, but it would be in the middle
of my show and I want to work to four
full hours with you tomorrow, so on Monday. So uh,
that's why I booked a flight. Yeah, plus get Oklambs
City earlier. Is how that big of a deal?

Speaker 4 (01:53:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:53:07):
Come on? What read the comments so I can at
least put this in context here? What are they saying?
It's NBA Central, right, it's the legitimate, not Sentel Centell's.
The is the goof and the quotes are real, Jabbari said, Uh,
Jabari saw who was refering tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:53:22):
He already knows it's gonna be extended. Some people are
saying that this might be one of those interviews in
the league. Lebron please set them up.

Speaker 18 (01:53:29):
Eh.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
I love the confidence of Jabari here. That's good. Yeah,
nothing wrong here. Bro is still about to drop six
or seventeen and end up in the KD files again. Oh,
I need thirty plus from you tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
Gang.

Speaker 2 (01:53:42):
I see that goes like putting Scott Foster on there,
don't do don't don't folks, don't buy in the Scott Foster.
Don't do it because you because if he winds up,
if the Lakers wind up winning, or we're gonna all
of a sudden change that narrative. Jabari is going for
a legacy game. You aren't Jada McDaniel's buddy. This ain't
gonna work man, Now, I'm not. It's not your fault,

(01:54:08):
but I'm not bags for can coun. That's one guy.
By the way, did you how about Atlanta doing one
two three can Coon in the first quarter of their
game last night? They got their ass wamped. Yeah, it
fought back. They only they lost by under fifty, right.
They were talking about the fact that maybe the boys
went to Magic City and had some pepper eleven eleven

(01:54:29):
pepper wings for the game towards Yeah, or before, I
don't know, but oh, actually, I'm sorry they lost by
fifty one. It was in the sixties in the second half.
I watched You're walking me SPN You were the one.
You were the one outside of New York. Yeah, I
think you think Atlanta turned it off, right for sure?
Of course, would you watch if your team's down up fifteen,

(01:54:51):
Soma put things in perspective here the Hawks uh Trey lukenar,
which wasn't smart. The Hawks lost the game by fifty
or so whatever last night. The Hawks have been largely
irrelevant ever since they've ever been to Atlanta, I mean
except for the Dominique Wilkins years. A little bit of
spud web, but that was that was thirty five years ago. Yeah,

(01:55:14):
and then their chief executive chief financial officer was taking
money from the company account. You didn't hear about this? No,
it sounds vaguely familiar. What Yeah, I'm gonad into your
real quick let me let me look it up because
I don't want to get it wrong here. So the
cheat the Hawks CFO, I mean dumbass and bezzled. Are
you ready for this? Here we go three point seven

(01:55:37):
million dollars from the team through fraudulent expense reimbursement requests
and misuse of corporate cards. He worked for the Accounting
and Finance Department from March twenty sixteen through June twenty
twenty five. He became senior role of Finance Vice president
for Finance in twenty twenty one. Among things, he did

(01:56:00):
dollars in oversea travels to the Bahamas in Thailand. Nice
ninety nine thousand and eight one hundred dollars in apparel
to sax fith Avenue, one hundred and fifteen thousand dollars
diamond ring, twenty one thousand dollars in Omega watches, A
fifteen thousand dollars diamond ring, Yes, twenty one thousand dollars
in Omega watches, and one over one hundred and sixty

(01:56:21):
thousand dollars this ring. It's to concert to other events
and get some lab doome Grimon lab grown diamonds. Brother,
Come on now, yeah, it's been all that kind of money,
all right, Keso, very quickly because we've got ema dooka
standing by. What do you got, Keeso? I just wanted
uh to do this last height for tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
I don't know if I got enough time, but I
just want to. I just want to. I just want
to get the city ready, dude. Tonight, the rocket are
gonna take it to these fakers.

Speaker 9 (01:56:49):
Boys.

Speaker 2 (01:56:50):
I can feel it, brothers. The weather's it's raining. Three.

Speaker 8 (01:56:55):
Brother, I can feel a rocket game six victory tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
Can I get it?

Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
Hell?

Speaker 6 (01:57:02):
He and then out Tonight the Rockets are gonna go
back to Los Angeles and they're gonna end this game,
and they're gonna end this series.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
And we're gonna send Lebron pack because he ain't ever
gonna be Michael Jordan.

Speaker 8 (01:57:15):
I'll tell you that right now, because Jabari Smith, he
ain't gonna stop. He's gonna pour in nineteen eight and seven.

Speaker 7 (01:57:23):
We ain't gonna stop there because we're gonna have In
Thompson locking.

Speaker 11 (01:57:27):
Up the big Boy, the big Frog that is Lebron James.

Speaker 7 (01:57:31):
Ain't nothing gonna stop us because outis Shingoon.

Speaker 12 (01:57:35):
The gooner himself is gonna step.

Speaker 7 (01:57:37):
Up and he's gonna lay some shoes up and he's
gonna have us rep ball double. Can I get a
hell yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
Hell hell yeah?

Speaker 16 (01:57:48):
And then the Rockets are gonna go and probably lose
the thunder, but it doesn't.

Speaker 8 (01:57:52):
Matter because tonight that that ain't down.

Speaker 15 (01:57:54):
He's down till I drownd fight Flying.

Speaker 3 (01:57:57):
We're not what the rose brace.

Speaker 6 (01:57:58):
They thought it was sleep.

Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
Then I put that new for ride.

Speaker 3 (01:58:01):
Hey to rest in Peace.

Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Is the Matt Thomas Show with Rocks, So I asked
email do I said, Amy, it would come on the
show on like Wednesday. He's like, no, it's too soon,
he said Friday. I said, okay, one o'clock Friday, here
we go and email and the Rockets have proven that
this series will go on to a game six, number

(01:58:26):
six tonight and coach joints us here on the show, email,
good afternoon. Do you uh what a nice bounce back
for your squad the last couple of games? Uh, tell
me about it. And I don't know how if there's
if you read much into this, but what's the demeanor
like in games four and five talking to those guys
pregame is compared to maybe so the first three games
of the series. If there is such a thing, that's.

Speaker 4 (01:58:47):
Confidence obviously building.

Speaker 5 (01:58:50):
But you know, we we had a let down at
the end of Game three and looked at a lot
of the positives and you know, really had to dominate
three quarters outside of the finish, and so, uh, there
was a lot of good to look at a lot
of things that we knew we did well enough to
win and carried that over the game four and five.
And so now the shooting numbers have come back around,
We're still defending at a high level, and so confidence

(01:59:11):
is high.

Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
Confidence is high. Also, another nice thing has happened the
last couple of games, is you've not allowed one of
their scorers to have great first period of play. Was
that a focus? You know, look it's forty eight minutes,
but man to see guys like Canard or Marcus Smart
have goals great first quarters were certainly alarming in the
early parts of the series.

Speaker 5 (01:59:31):
Yeah, we looked at the first three games and giving
up thirty three, thirty three and thirty nine in the
first quarter and.

Speaker 4 (01:59:38):
Being at a small deficit most of those.

Speaker 5 (01:59:40):
We wanted to get out to a great start and
started with game four, you know, being up twenty six
to twenty two, and then last game we didn't score
a ton, but we held them in the twenties. So
we wanted to get off the better starts, and we've
done that lately. Smart came out hit a few threes
and free tos, but outside of that first eight points
in the first quarter ended with eleven, so did a
much better job him. Canard only have one part one

(02:00:02):
point and so much better. Focused on those two guys.

Speaker 2 (02:00:06):
Is it okay to say, yo, lot Dean R eight
and do what he needs to do and getting those
two point shots if it comes with the fact that
your perimeter defense is better. I mean, obviously you want
everybody to be stopped, but can you live with DeAndre
doing what he did and not allowing guys like Canard
and Marcus Martin and Lebrono a smaller extent to hit
the bunch of threes?

Speaker 5 (02:00:26):
Yeah, I mean, every time you go into a game plan,
you want the ball to find certain guys more than others.
And even if he's making some of those shots, we
don't feel that can beat us at a high level,
and keeping everybody else contained is pretty much part of
the game plan. And so we're gonna live with some
of those, especially with the opera and helping on some
of the drives, and we feel we can contain the

(02:00:47):
others will be in good shape.

Speaker 2 (02:00:49):
Austin Reeves got in there, and as you and I
were kind of joking about a little bit Austin's going
to give to the free throw line, he certainly did
a bunch thirteen times. That's kind of his modus operande.
But what did you notice the game plan of the
Lakers with Austin out there as compared to some of
the minutes that lu Canar was taken from him before
he came back and being healthy for them, Well, they run.

Speaker 5 (02:01:09):
A lot of the same plays for those two, so
the actions weren't much different. But he's, you know, a
better one on one player, and to your point, getting
to the free throw line is a big thing. So
they tried to bring read up into some actions with him,
I think outside of the fouls, and that's going under
two pick and rolls where he got three point shots.
We did a good job funneling him inside. I think
looked like he got worn down this game went on,

(02:01:31):
and then we made him work on the other end,
and so obviously one of the best scores all year.
What he's done is taking a big jump this year,
and that's why they've improved, and they're going to try
to get him his actions get him to the free
throw line.

Speaker 4 (02:01:42):
And we got to do a better job in our fouling.

Speaker 2 (02:01:44):
And one of the things, of course, you kind of mentioned,
what the the turnaround is the defense, especially with reed
Shepherd and outprenching Gooon. What have you been seeing from
those two guys, especially just from a competitive standpoint and
being up to the challenge to improve their defense.

Speaker 5 (02:02:00):
Yeah, taking all the challenge is the first part and
just being more physical in general. You know, we're putting
them on certain matches and they're doing a good job
out there and specifically putting out some fires guarding his
man and like I said, we're.

Speaker 4 (02:02:11):
Living with some of the eight and things that are
going to be residual.

Speaker 5 (02:02:13):
Effects of that, But for the most part, they're doing
a really good job. Obviously, if you hold a team
do under one hundred as many times as we have,
especially ninety three and ninety nine in the last two games,
you know you're doing some good things. And so still
areas we can clean up. We took a look at
that today where you can even improve more. But defens
is fielling our offense. The turnovers are great, the activity

(02:02:35):
is great, and they're a big part of that.

Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
Rocket Tech coach Immaydoga with us here on Sports Talk
seven ninety what's the latest you can give us on
Kevin Durant and trying to work his way back. Of
course not going to be available tonight, but potentially for
game seven.

Speaker 5 (02:02:51):
Yeah, he's still going through the process and you know,
getting some work in and seeing how it feels. You know,
the mobility and the pain are two different things, and
you can probably push through some pain at times, but
if you're limited with your movement and some of the
things you can do. As far as him being the
score that he is, it's gonna be tough. And so
as much as it sucks for him and us, you know,

(02:03:13):
other guys have stepped up and we have to go
with who we got and so looking at him obviously
out tonight, we'll see what happens the next few days.

Speaker 4 (02:03:20):
But you know, those bone bruises are tricky. You know
it takes some time.

Speaker 5 (02:03:24):
And you looked at Marcus Smart earlier this season, missed
nine games due to bone bruise, and the healing process
is one thing, but like I said, the mobility being
limited is much more impactful.

Speaker 2 (02:03:33):
Your guys have rallied around the fact that Katie's not gone.
That's what two straight games of all five of your
starters and double figures. That's not a typical for a
regular season game. But to see good balance current that
in the playoffs has to be a positive sign for you.

Speaker 5 (02:03:48):
Yeah, everybody's aggressive, the ball is moving, you know, turnovers down,
assist numbers up, and guys are shooting it well. Like
I said, even in the first two games, we had
really good looks that we didn't make, and we know
if we continue to get paint touches, those are great
for us Man and Read and he'll be getting into
the paint. Is open up shots for everybody else, and
that balance is hard to guard, and so we're not

(02:04:09):
relying on one or two guys, everybody else contributing, and
like I said, the turnovers that really field our offense
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:04:16):
Reid has the mid range shot in the fourth quarter,
he comes back and steals Lebron's attempted pass, winds up
going for a dunk, and millva lane for a confidence
standpoint for him. And look, every moment is an experience
for him. But as you saw it through your eyes,
how much in Read and grow up and that just
that stretch where those two big players were such a
big part of that fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (02:04:38):
Yeah, huge. Obviously they cut into the lead.

Speaker 5 (02:04:41):
We have missed some good shots as well, but we
knew the covers they would have with Reading to pick
a role as opposed to a man or somebody else,
and so he got the space to operate the stead
to get screen, had to get set up and got
to a spot and so we trust him with that
shot all day. Obviously one of the best shooters we have,
but the instinct to go make a player well on
James driving, He's really good at that, got great hands

(02:05:03):
and anticipation, and to push us back up to seven
at that point was obviously needed, but huge for him
just growing experiences, like you said, first time really playing
in a heated playoff series, and so great to see
him come through at that point.

Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
And for I let you go. The turnovers again continue
to haunt them a little bit. You guys are taking
advantage of that. Is that making you from a defensive standpoint,
want some guys to try some things or just let
the Lakers kind of do what they've been doing a lot.
And this is handled the ball over. You mean you've
had twenty seven steals in the last couple of games.

Speaker 4 (02:05:37):
Yes, both. I think we have the freedom to make plays.

Speaker 5 (02:05:39):
We have guys with great instinct I'm in read Tari obviously,
and so their freedom to make plays, especially when you're
guarding certain guys, and like I said, we want the
ball to find.

Speaker 4 (02:05:48):
Other guys and so it's just a really good mix.

Speaker 5 (02:05:51):
But when they're trying to take advantage some mismatches with
Aiden in the post or hachimur. I think our rotations
have been good. We've been doing our work early fighting
those guys off the post, and you've seen a lot
of steals on those high low passes, and so activity
is great. Like I said, we know how much that
feels us offensively, if we can get out and run
and play against a non set defense.

Speaker 4 (02:06:11):
It's been great for us all year.

Speaker 2 (02:06:13):
I hear la is lovely in early May. Let's go
back one more time. Thank you coach for the visit,
and good luck tonight against the Lakers. Thank you, I
will see you later. That's Eamay Doka joining us here
getting ready for game number six between the Rockets and
the Lakers. That it's a late start. It's eight thirty,
which means it's forty two, which probably means eight forty
seven because that's a slide. But Rosshill have the coverage

(02:06:33):
on KH and then we will have the game on
k triages and then when the Astros red Sox Star
Width will put it on seven ninety as well, so
seven ninety and seven forty. I'm hearing that if there
is a game number seven, it'll either be at five thirty.
I think the time is five thirty or six thirty
on Sunday night from Los Angeles. Oh, four thirty or

(02:06:58):
six thirty okay, yeah, so that's two hours in front,
so six thirty eight thirty. So so afternoon no, no,
no early evening, yeah, I mean not or light Yeah,
late afternoon now you four thirty, six thirty whatever, Just
not late night, is what I'm saying. No, no, fully
not no. I think I think the earliest game would
be on its six thirty Central time would be the earliest, okay.
I thought it was four thirty or four to thirty local,

(02:07:19):
six thirty local never mind. Yeah, please don't be late.
I want game seven.

Speaker 4 (02:07:24):
Cat.

Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
I do like the Pacific time zone. Yeah, it's fine.
I'm more of a mountain guy. Pacific's fine. Mountain's good too.
But now, but who lives in the mountain except everything's
good because you're working Rockets games, of course, because they're
all in the morning. Yeah, I mean not in the morning.
But our show is done at noon and I can
take a full nap. Yeah, good, full little walk, you know,
walk the streets of Beverly Hills down on two l Yes.

(02:07:47):
But yeah, the double header games starting at like the
second half of double header game starting at six thirty
nine is not a terrible thing or seven thirty depending
on the time. So all right, uh, we're gonna have
a little MMA conversation coming back, little UFC. We got
a Houston fighter inaction coming up in the week, so
we're gonna talk to him. Non Flida stories at one thirty, Jonathan,
you'r non for a story. Last week was not a

(02:08:08):
good lote. We need you to bounce back this week.
So what do you got? You got something good installations
for us this week? I guess on this little little
cheesy Okay, mine's cheesy as well. Ironically enough, hmmmm Mac
and cheesy. Yeah, you said it earlier, so I wasn't
I know, I know, but I but somebody sent it
to you and I'm like, man, I'm the one that
needs the help. Yes, it's all about you, Matt. It

(02:08:32):
kind of is one at twelve on Sports Talk seven
and we talked a little UFC next here on seven ninety.
I made him on me and thank you again do
Imail Joker for joining us for a few minutes on
the show. Cool we get a coach on on a
game day. It's funny. I did say, hey, let's do
a Wednesday, and I don't think so. So we're gonna

(02:08:55):
do Game six really good. I like, you know what,
I'd rather him be this way. Like I guess we
could just in case we lose. I don't want that.
We let jabari. We're gonna try our best and we've
got you can do and maybe we'll win.

Speaker 4 (02:09:06):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:09:09):
I think we'd rather have it Plan B, where you're
just overly boastful because you know what, it's good smack
talk if you win, and you get kind of embarrassed
if you lose. But at least it's better than we're
gonna give it one hundred percent. We're gonna play one
play at a time. We're gonna just go out there
and grind it out and as the best team win.
I don't think. I don't think. If you're an athlete,

(02:09:30):
you have you have to live your life that way.
You can't live that life. That's that's just that's pr
people telling you what to say and not say. But
if you are a professional athlete or even a high
end college athlete, you have to go out there and say,
I'm gonna do my best and we're gonna do our best,
and we're gonna win every game humanly possible. I like
guys have a little personality because what happens when they
do when they go Cassario Bot, we all complain yeah,

(02:09:52):
and they go Nikki c We're gonna take the best
player of the boy We're gonna do. Shut up CAUs.
Therefore hitherto, we're gonna stick to the board, and we're
always looking for the best player available. We're always looking
for ways to improve the team, you know, whether that's
trade up or trade out or whatever. And then you
just you're bored. You wasted six minutes of your life
on one answer that didn't give you anything. Right, So
when you get something interesting and you get somebody who's

(02:10:14):
wanted to talk a little bit, I embrace it. The
problem is that people are afraid, and this will be
you and I in particular. If you say things that
are too outlandish, then somebody come back at you and say,
what the hell are you talking about? Yeah, he didn't
say anything crazy. No, that's also true. That's anything in
life is a balance. You got to find the right bounce.
It's anything you pick your poison. Like, I'm not going
to go out and have a fiery hot take about

(02:10:34):
Tonight's a Raptors playoff game, or I may have a
little something to say about the Rockets gap.

Speaker 4 (02:10:39):
Like I go my go to.

Speaker 2 (02:10:40):
They're not cutting promos. He's just saying, there go, we
got something for you, Los Angeles. That's the one thing
that I do appreciate you like about wrestling with the promos,
because the promos are ninety percent you're just going and
talking trash. Yeah. Yeah, the matches are boring and the
guys are all oiled up and then their hearts explode.
That's not true, but be that felt a little graphic anyways.

(02:11:06):
I mean Hulk oiled up. I mean he would be
the first and muscose guys not oil up. Yeah. I
think he was under one of those lamps they used
to to keep Big Max warm. He was, he was flat.
Here is a four piece Netflix Netflix documentary about Hulk
that is out. Oh really, yes, that I will be watching. Okay,
you know me, I'm a dog guy.

Speaker 14 (02:11:25):
Mm.

Speaker 2 (02:11:26):
Yeah, so he dropped it?

Speaker 4 (02:11:29):
Do they do?

Speaker 9 (02:11:29):
They?

Speaker 2 (02:11:29):
They got to bleep the in bombs there, right, I
would assume that's part of the storyline. Yeah, is this
the authorized story or unauthorized story. Rick Flair's got a
bunch of documented but some are authorized by him and
some are not. His blatant repeated racism. Yeah, but the
and I don't want to get into. I don't want
to get into until I see it. But the argument

(02:11:51):
has been was that Hulk Hogan speaking or was that
terrible Layout speaking? So can you separate the character of
the wrestler from the human being? My favorite So when
we did Hulk Cogan story, believe it or not, and
it was a bunch of stories he made up.

Speaker 17 (02:12:04):
He did.

Speaker 2 (02:12:05):
He was a big boss about being like Elvis coming
to his shows and stuff like that. The number one
thing is he wrestled four hundred times in a year.
And he kept saying he got the wrestled twice in
a year because he'd fly back from international dateline in back.
He had more days to do it than other people did.
I mean, somebody believe he's a liar? I mean was

(02:12:27):
and racists? All right, let's focus on something way more positive.
The second, yes, get much better. The second youngest champion
in UFC history is just twenty four years of old.
He is the UFC Flyway Champion. He's going to defend
his title at UFC three twenty eight, May ninth in Newark,
New Jersey at the Prudential Center. And he is a
Houston kid. We say hello to Joshua Van here on

(02:12:49):
the Matt Thomas Show at Ross. Joshua, It's Matt and Ross.
First of all, congratulations, be damn glad to have you.
And I want to talk about what you have for
breakfast every morning. Please explain the audience what that is.

Speaker 7 (02:13:01):
Thank you, Thank you for having me.

Speaker 14 (02:13:02):
Man.

Speaker 7 (02:13:03):
The breakfast I have is McDonald's, two burritos and a
hash brown you know, all.

Speaker 2 (02:13:10):
Right, perfect fuel. So you're telling me you are a
finally tuned UFC athlete. You are in the octagon. You
are battling, you are scratching, you are klawn and you're like, man,
thank God for that breakfast burrito ahead at seven thirty
in the morning.

Speaker 7 (02:13:25):
Yes, that's the best breakfast that I have.

Speaker 4 (02:13:27):
Man, You know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (02:13:28):
They don't.

Speaker 2 (02:13:30):
Enjoy your youth, Joshua. I don't know this is gonna
work when you get a little bit older in the game,
when you're thirty seven years old, that's gonna go right
to your gut. I'm just going to tell you that
right now from personal experience. Hey, let's talk about being
in New York City. I mean it's New Jersey. But
to be in the bright lights of the of the
Big Apple, to have this event for you obviously, you're
very excited to take us through what it has been

(02:13:52):
like holding the belt and now having to defend it.
Coming up here in May in New Jersey.

Speaker 7 (02:13:58):
I'm very very exciting, you know what I mean. I'm
very excited to defend my bill. And you know, we
almost we're almost there, you know, so one more week
and then we get to defend my bill. So I'm
very excited for this fight. And I fought in New
Jersey before, so you know, it's a familiar feelings. So
I'm very very excited to be back.

Speaker 4 (02:14:19):
In New Jersey.

Speaker 2 (02:14:20):
How many fights do you go through a year and
what is a perfect schedule for you in terms of
you do you lay your schedule at twelve months in advance?

Speaker 9 (02:14:28):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (02:14:29):
No, I'm the type of guy that I wake up
and then whatever I feel I do, you know what
I mean. So, but I think last year I fought
I think I fought six times in a year or
something in the in the record or something yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:14:45):
So say about once every couple of months and sounds
about right. I got you. Yeah, twenty twenty two. Y
So will you take time off, get away from the gym,
decompress or you always in that semi world cap motor
then really ramp it up as you get closer to
your upcoming events.

Speaker 7 (02:15:04):
Yeah, I'm always in. I'm always in the gym, man.
Uh Like, I can't stay at home for too long,
you know, I get bored or things like that, so
I always stay in the gym.

Speaker 2 (02:15:13):
Well, your last fight was only twenty six seconds, So
did you like go back to the gym later that night?

Speaker 9 (02:15:20):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (02:15:20):
No, I was too busy. I mean, you know, celebrating
the winds and shit like that.

Speaker 2 (02:15:27):
Twenty six seconds? Did you introduce yourself before the fight
or one?

Speaker 7 (02:15:30):
I run it back later and later in the future,
but as if right now, you know, I got to
throw it on my mind.

Speaker 2 (02:15:37):
So yeah, I got you. Hey, you train out of
the four ounce Fight Club? Where is that? And what's
that like? Could a regular, average, out of shape, middle
aged white man going there and hang out with you
guys for a couple of hours?

Speaker 7 (02:15:53):
Uh, you won't make it out alive.

Speaker 2 (02:15:54):
Now, I didn't think, so I didn't.

Speaker 7 (02:15:58):
If it's a fight camp every day over there, you
know what I mean? So, uh, maybe maybe you can
join the beginning the beginning class and stuff like that.
But yeah, we have a fighter class five to six.
That is you know, that's a push man. So every day,
like we have fighters left and right, so you know

(02:16:19):
what I mean. Every day is a fight camp. So
if I'm not fighting, some of our teammates are fighting,
so it's always a fight camp.

Speaker 2 (02:16:25):
Did you how did you learn about this club in particular,
and what made you this be the good fit and
not only because it's Houston or just that you like
the guys when you first walked in.

Speaker 7 (02:16:39):
I used to I used to train out of a
garage and you know, my coach would take me to
four hounds to go aspar and things like that. And
when my old coach decided to close his gym, you know,
I need to find new gym. And you know, Danny
Pineda will come you with an open arms. So that's
that's why I stayed with them, all right.

Speaker 2 (02:17:01):
I understand. Also, you said you were at the World
Baseball Classic in the month of March. Was that fun
for you? Experiencing.

Speaker 7 (02:17:08):
It was great, man, it was great. I don't really
watch sport, but.

Speaker 2 (02:17:12):
It was amazing.

Speaker 4 (02:17:13):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:17:15):
So you don't watch any sports at all?

Speaker 14 (02:17:19):
No?

Speaker 7 (02:17:19):
I used to watch soccer a lot, but now yeah,
I don't watch no sport at all.

Speaker 2 (02:17:25):
So do you have any idea the Rockets are playing tonight?

Speaker 4 (02:17:29):
No?

Speaker 14 (02:17:32):
You know what you?

Speaker 2 (02:17:34):
Tyra?

Speaker 17 (02:17:35):
What is?

Speaker 4 (02:17:36):
What is?

Speaker 14 (02:17:36):
What is?

Speaker 2 (02:17:37):
Tyra?

Speaker 4 (02:17:37):
Like?

Speaker 2 (02:17:37):
Give me give me a thought or two about what
you thinks are his strengths and weaknesses.

Speaker 7 (02:17:42):
Tyler is a world rounded guy, man. He's uh, he's
good on the striking and he's better on on the
ground for sure. So uh, he's a war rounded guy
and he's someone that I want to test myself against,
you know. So I'm very excited for this matchup.

Speaker 2 (02:17:58):
Visiting with Joshua Van a couple of minutes here on
the show. Joshua, all right, so you're gonna get up
to New Jersey. How early will you get there and
what is your life like for like, say forty eight
seventy two hours before you get into the octagon.

Speaker 7 (02:18:15):
Well, I'm gonna get there in New Jersey on Tuesday
next week and then well forty two hours before the
fight is well, I have to cut wait, you know
what I mean? So and then I saw, I make wait,
I spend my what Friday, I spend my day eating
all day man, and then Saturday we get to fight.

Speaker 2 (02:18:39):
And is it are you late to bed early? I mean,
what's your sleeping habit? You try to get twelve to
ten twelve hours a day? Is it a little sporadic naps?
I mean, because I'm curious, because you got the energy
of being in this big event, big arena, pay per
view television, but you're also you know, you're still who
you are. I mean, I'm just curious if your lifestyle

(02:19:00):
changes as you lead up to the event itself.

Speaker 7 (02:19:04):
Now, my lifestyle always being the same everything I start fighting,
you know, I go to the gym, I come home,
I take a nap and then while the latest I
stay at late is probably like eleven eleven thirty. All right,
you know, wake up five in the mornings and start
my day.

Speaker 2 (02:19:21):
And that's a pretty discipline life. You have to live
like basically twelve months a year, don't you.

Speaker 9 (02:19:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (02:19:28):
Pretty much?

Speaker 2 (02:19:29):
All right? Last question? Do you bring the belt with
you on the plane or do you pack it? How
do you what do you do with the belt during
the whole event.

Speaker 7 (02:19:35):
Here, well, I don't even know. Hopefully they got they
got me another belt over there. I don't want to
bring my belt everywhere, you know, because I put it
on like I put it in the lyric cabinet, so
you know, I don't want to take it out.

Speaker 2 (02:19:48):
That's it.

Speaker 7 (02:19:49):
So hopefully they got me a new belt over there.

Speaker 2 (02:19:52):
And get your name out and everything. Hey, Joshua, thank
you for representing our city. Have a great trip up there.

Speaker 4 (02:19:57):
Go win.

Speaker 2 (02:19:58):
I don't know if twenty six seconds do you want
to beat that record, but you'll do whatever time right.

Speaker 7 (02:20:03):
Yes, sir, for sure. I will finish him inside three,
so it it can be done in the first second,
or you know, even in the third.

Speaker 2 (02:20:11):
All right, we got you down for inside three. That's
what the That's what the Vegas oddmakers are saying. Joshua,
thanks for the time, and uh, save troubles up there
and go win that belt. We can. We really appreciate
you joining us here on the show today.

Speaker 7 (02:20:22):
Thank you for having me.

Speaker 2 (02:20:23):
You got a Joshua Van joining us here on the program.
How about that? He wants to keep that belt back here.
He wants a fresh belt UFC Flyweight champion. Heah, he said,
you're not gonna get out of the gym alive. Maybe
don't go over there. I believe that to be accurate.
Do you think if I was to walk in there
be like, oh no, you'd be alive. He's not be
in great shape, but I'd be made fun of him

(02:20:44):
being able back talking to me and say I don't
need that. We'd have to check your your benefits for dismember.

Speaker 9 (02:20:49):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:20:50):
Yes, they'll like get an ekg before so I could
take one heart punch and be all right, now, we
don't want you punched in the heart. I'm just saying
keep it, no, gonna go, keep your guard. I'll just
watch on TV. Take you all the times.

Speaker 4 (02:21:02):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:21:03):
By the way, let me tell you about the television
side of this. Uh it is gonna be on Mount Plus. Yes,
they had that big multi billion dollar deal with Paramount Plus.

Speaker 4 (02:21:11):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (02:21:12):
So it is again May ninth at the Prudential Center
against Tatsura Tiara.

Speaker 4 (02:21:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
The event will be exclusively available on Paramount Plus. Watch it,
learn it, live it, and lepers and think about his
man in the burritos and the hash Browns. I got
a low key as I told him, miss stick the
hash burun in the burrito, mush it up in there,
tastier you unroll it, put the hash brown in there
and roll it. Yeah, yeah, there's room. Yeah, you cat,
you're taking one hashburn is putting it over to burritos.

(02:21:38):
You can do it for sure. Okay, all right, non
Florida stories are up next. Mine's about food. It's map
mac and cheese. Jonathan will have one that will obviously
supplant when he did last week, and Rash you'll have
yours as well. Plus today's edition of Hell.

Speaker 3 (02:21:51):
Yeah Not.

Speaker 2 (02:21:54):
Is on Joshua Van is there? Okay? Nice one thirty
one on Sports Talk seven ninety terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.
All right, thank you very much for that frankly disheartening
story about our legal enforcement. It's the people who are
committing the fraud. Yeah, but somebody didn't figure this out.
But then one second, all right, Jonathan chying to bounce

(02:22:15):
back with your non Florida story.

Speaker 6 (02:22:17):
All Right, have you guys heard the lawsuit that hit
JP Morgan? Yes, I have, so, okay, yeah, So, alleged
JP Morgan executive laur Hadini, Yes, turned her staffer into
a sex slave.

Speaker 2 (02:22:30):
Yes, allegedly alleged. I think this has already been debunked up. Yeah,
has been Flora, Well I'm sorry, Well, no, it's good.
This the story. Apparently the guy made it up. Sorry,
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (02:22:39):
Yeah, So basically what happened lawsuits if we're saying that
she has sex.

Speaker 2 (02:22:43):
Slaves, saying if you don't blank me soon, I'm going
to ruin you. Yeah, the blank be part. Never forget
I blank and own you. Yes, called a bunch of
racial names. By the way, BJ for the brown boy,
Yeah for the brown boy. Not one of those things
you don't put on a T shirt. I bet your
little A'SI and fish headed. I don't say that this
is this is i'm the words used by Jonathan Allen

(02:23:12):
which are not his own as well.

Speaker 6 (02:23:14):
And he's all fabricated. And so apparently was her employer
or employee.

Speaker 2 (02:23:20):
It's his boss. They were on the same team. Apparently
they thought it was his boss. No, she said I
own you.

Speaker 6 (02:23:26):
New York Post even said they weren't even they were
just like co workers that no one reports each other
and basically ruined her entire life.

Speaker 2 (02:23:35):
Now, apparently that's so.

Speaker 6 (02:23:39):
I can't believe that I don't know what what would
be happening back doors for Okay?

Speaker 2 (02:23:44):
Oh right, okay, was he so he was trying to
see Jonathan he was trying to dip his pen in
company inc. Yes, and then did a lawsuits for him
to both be publicly out there. Apparently he got fired
and yeah, there was nothing to corroborate basically everything he
was talking about a bunch of lies and they poked
holes in everything. Meanwhile, drug this woman out unfortunately because

(02:24:05):
she looked terrible for doing the reverse sexual harassment. It's
not reverse, still sexual harassment, Yeah, I get well, but
it's usually the one man to the woman's a woman.
That's true. So in somewhere, in some respects is of reverse.
It's still sexual Okay, fair enough?

Speaker 4 (02:24:19):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:24:19):
Uh, five minutes left to go on the show. What
should we do? We should play America's fastest growing sports
radio game show. We simply call it be Leave It
or Not. And here's how it works. You call seven

from earlier today. Joshua Van the UFC flyweight champion. I'll

You'll say this, believe it. If Saveman's erroneous full of
bunk a man up, you will say this, two believe
or nots in a row. How are we doing on tickets?
