Speaker 1 (00:01):
This Sean Salisbury Show continues to continue.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Our apologies to our guy Bill down to Seabrook. Last
bump song was the fight song for Indiana the Hoosiers. Hey,
(00:44):
a little uh, we're gonna were gonna about Bill something
move some things around about Bill.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Did you say, yeah, Indiana Hoosiers are playing great football.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Right yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Fight song was last bumps, Yeah, were playing right there,
are playing great yeah football right now? All right, so
a little misconnect at eight thirty. We're gonna get Aaron
Wilson now, yeah, yeah, let's do it. That was Springing
Man Aarons.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, NFL insider Aaron Wilson going to join us talk
Texans and Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yep, Aaron Wilson are week at KPRC two channel two.
You get all this great stuff on there, you get
it at Aaron Wilson on Twitter and gets all, uh,
the great information. You'll see it all across the league
and right here focused on the Texans, joins us first
weekly visit. Let's roll through this rapid fire, brother to
get you on. Appreciate you making some time for us
here just before the top of the are it can't continue. Yeah,
(01:29):
I don't care. How good Stroud is, I don't care
how good the defensive place. If the offensive line continues
to punish themselves with pre snap and penalties, this team
it's gonna go badly quickly if this continues. They have
got to get better.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
I agree, And it wasn't like it was amplified the lot,
but you saw from both Bobby Slowick and amy Ka
Ryan's acknowledging the failure of the offensive line. It's been
up and down having what they hoped for. So yes,
they are now where they were kind of defending them
a little bit before. They're not ripping them, but they're
(02:02):
definitely saying what other people are saying, which is the
offensive line has to play better. You know. The fact
is the penalties are an issue. They're the penalty leader.
They've got forty penalties. Larry Man Tunsull is the highest
penalty guy in the league eleven with ten. Assess it's
got to get better, and the I guess you know
(02:23):
big He's saying, well, we've got the talent, we've got
the ability, but some way you got put together. No doubt,
and that's on their Stauser, the offensive line coach. That's
on everyone, no doubt. About it Aaron Wilson for his
weekly visit. Aaron, Okay, they're three and one right there.
This team is three and one right now. Got beat
by a good Minnesota team, a good Buffalo team comes
(02:45):
to town. But even at three and one, I don't
think we've seen him near their best anywhere near it. Overall,
they're getting better in certain aspects. So with that, give
me a grade four games end of the season for
a three and one team, Yeah, that's its tough to
give them a high grade. I think it's like C
plus because it's the team that we expect more from.
(03:06):
Right The three and one is great, but you know,
and there's no such thing as style points in the NFL.
But obviously these things are going to come to a
head at some point. And you were pulling out by
the Vikings. I think that's one of the biggest things.
You can say, Well, they were uncompetitive against another good team,
and I think that's what people were worried about. Let's
(03:26):
just call what it is. The expectations, while reasonable based
on on paper, haven't been met. So now people are
adjusting their opinion of the team rightfully. So and you know,
I'm not the one that called them a Super Bowl contender.
(03:47):
I mean that that comes from a lot of people.
And I think, you know, I don't think they got cocky.
I don't think it's because you know, you're going Pat McAfee,
you got cadas only to the people, you know, gashing
your head out, tell them how great you are. That's
what they did. They come of the camp, they say,
you know this, this, this, that's what they did. They
jump on the hype train. If not for CJ. Stroud
(04:08):
and his excellencey he turned twenty three yesterday, Sean, Yep,
where is this team? I mean he is carrying them?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Oh my gosh, there one. They're probably one in three
right now.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
If they're lucky, he's even better. And that's why I
wrote about him, to appreciate what he's accomplished, what he's
going to do in the future. If not for CJ,
I mean, then you're kind.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Of worried about these guys, no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Do they could carry them? Yep?
Speaker 3 (04:35):
And he's he is that. We always say, well, what
guy can carry you for a month or a season?
You know, we've named names in the past. He's on
as for young guys go, he's on that train right
now and he's in that team picture Aaron Wilson for
a few more minutes here we had towards nine o'clock
with Buffalo. What's what's going on? Joe Mixon has been
extremely durable in his career when he was in Cincinnati,
A durable, durable, durable. That's the last thing I figured
(04:57):
was going to have be a problem coming here because
the guy is a month on the field. How close
are we? What's the issue?
Speaker 4 (05:04):
It's an issue that's a high ankle sprain. So they
linger and it was an illegal tackle. You saw you
know the hit TV Edwards tackle. Let me brot him down.
It was awkward. It's the inside of the ankle. It's like, uh,
it's not the outside part of the ankle. And it's
a kind of on natural bend. And he did do
(05:25):
last Friday, but Friday is not a big deal. Thursday, Wednesday,
those ones are the ones that count. Have they ever
done it before, Like Golden Schultz whose sprain ankle missed
two practices, did a Friday, Yeah, they've done it before.
His ankle injury wasn't that serious with Joe Mixon. Yeah,
it's a more of like a you know, three, four,
(05:47):
five week kind of injury. So they're just kind of
getting to the territory of, well, maybe we can bring
him back out there, and yeah, it's looking unlikely. You know,
we'll see if he can do. We're gonna later if
he does anything, and then what kind of game time
decisions they make. Part of me wonders even how close
he was last week or if that's just something that
(06:09):
they put out there. But yeah, he he tried. Uh
you know right now it's camp makers for Bran brb one,
Damian Pierce. He's not practicing either. Thought he was closer
on his hamstring. You look even an optimists and you
know they they're being careful with it. We got camp
makers and Darga maal yep.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
We got about ninety seconds, but I got to get
two in for you because I need your great insight
on this one take away c J. Stroud and Nico Collins,
who is becoming a number one receiver and a dominant
player in this league. What's the strength of the team
I look at that I.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Want I would guess even though they haven't had the
sack production, the pressures are so high. Probably those two
Pro Bowl ads Will Anderson junior Daniel Hunter, and that's
where you can say something that's elite. They just have
to finish. But I mean they're part of block. I
would say those two guys, they they've played real well.
They just kind of clean up finishing. But I mean
(07:04):
they're the pressure leaders in the NFL, those guys. So yeah,
probably that's it.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
As much as Sam Donold's played well and he's the
MVP in the league after four weeks, they've got a
guy who's in the conversation. If you stop him, he
probably stop Buffalo. But how they deal with Josh Allen
on this because he's a dynamic football player.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Yeah, they're definitely gonna have to rally a lot of
people to the football. You're going to have to cut
off packing LANs, You're gonna have to be able to
stop tight end. He involves everybody. They spread the football around.
You can go to any single guy and Josh can
make every throw. Josh also is big and tough, and
(07:45):
he can run for it himself, and he likes to
do that, and he gets in there. He gets dirty
work as a quarterback. As an offensive line, you get
too much. They love walking for Josh. They buck their
tails off for him. So yeah, it's hard running about
the match up with Josh today. And I really think
this guy to play that style, play this long, it's amazing. Agreed.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
So who you got? Yeah, very tough and there's nobody,
I mean there's a lot, but he's as valuable to
his team as anybody as to theirs in this league
right now. And we know what that's like here with
this guy, and we see that at a couple of places.
So who who you like this week?
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Aaron? I think Bill's won a close one. And the
reason why, I just think they's a little bit better
than these big games. Their coaches are so experienced, They've
got the quarterback with the experience and the acumen and everything.
And then I don't think the emotions of its well
of the Stefande's revenge game, the game of revenge.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
I mean it's he's wants all staffed, it doesn't matter,
you know how that goes with matter?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Yeah, and I'm sure he'll play well and he'll all
have fun out there to playing against his old guys.
But yeah, I just like Bill's in a close win,
and I don't think it's gonna be anything that's embarrassing though,
I think it's just gonna be like, hey, they're a
little bit better right now, and the Texas sell some
work to do. That's my takeaway right now.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Great stuff, brother, thanks for justin time. We'll see you
next week at eight thirty. Enjoy the game and always
great stuff and we appreciate you joining us.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Thanks so great.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
We you've bet we got Texans talk top of the hour.
How do you deal with Josh Allen? And how do
you get better? Because it's a soft three in one
right now, make no mistake about it. Thank goodness, Number
seven and number twelve are making all kinds of plays.
