As the season rolls on and we now arrive at Week 12 in the NFL, kicking off Monday Night Football the Texans took on the Cowboys in which they gained a dominant victory over Dallas with a final score of 34-10. Regarding the phenomenal game Joe Mixon had and Nico Collins returning back to the active roster, the Texans look to be serious competitors as we inch closer to the postseason. However many believe the AFC's conference is loaded with a few different competitors whom tend to believe they may be better than the Texans. Looking currently and ahead as the weeks roll on, can we state that the Texans are a top five team in the AFC Conference?

This is the Sean Salsbury Show.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
What about them?

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Texan sell Man, give me your honest evaluation. If I
name five teams in the AFC, are they one of them?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
And I say that I'm not talking about record, I'm
talking about Do you.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Say, okay, Yeah, I'm gonna give you five teams that
can win a Super Bowl? Are they one of them?
In the AFC? Let me go through a couple. I'm
gonna mention these teams.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Chargers defensively, they're really good overall. Just tell me. Can
they play in February? Yes? This year? I think so?

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Okay, Chargers is one two Kanas City Chiefs of course,
Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yes, Pittsburgh Steelers. How can you even have.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
You without San Diego with la with with the Chargers
because you're not gonna put the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Because of Russ Wilson. I think Justin Herbert will play
better than Russ Wilson. I know Rus Wilson has played
good football, but I still have a little bit of
question marks.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Okay, what's your question mark about him? Player toughness, at
some leadership, at some point. I feel like down the
stretch he is gonna have one of those games, and
I fear that it might be in January.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
So you yeah, all right?

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Do you trust that he's his experience in past Super
Bowls will help him during this?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I think so? Or is it? Or is that ship sailed? No?
I think I think I think it. I think he
will play well, good enough. Plus Mike Tommin dude, he's
he's they got everything to need charges Yes, So I
would say the Steelers are yes, Chiefs or yes, Yes,
Steelers are yes.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Baltimore's yes and Steelers, Steelers are yes. Buffalo yes, Hey
there's five now let me go. Uh are the uh
anybody Denver Broncos, yes or no?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
No?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Are the nobody else in the South? How about how
about uh, a f C East No.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
No other team? Right? And a f C East North?
Who's in the a f C North? No other team? Cincinnati,
but they're not even. And then and then the Texans.
There's your sixth.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Yeah, there's your six Okay, list them in order? Okay,
list the list in order the team. If you had
to bet, and we're gonna make it, we're gonna we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Work our way down.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
You got you get twenty five grand to bet, Okay,
and you can distribute it any friggin way you want
from your favorite to win it. And it's not the odds.
I'm just saying who your favorite is. Yeah, you can
put all of it into the top and not bet
on the other five teams. Give me the order, the
pecking order, and how much money you put on that
team right now to win the Super Bowl today as

(04:32):
we sit. Okay, Kansas City, Okay, what do you got
out of the twenty five grand? How much you're taking
to put on them?

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Cool man? Uh? Five grand? Okay? Just five?

Speaker 5 (04:43):
You have twenty grand left, so you're telling me, then
you don't think anybody?

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Is that your first? There? In order? You said they're
your number one? Yes, number one? All right, So you
got twenty thousand, so they're your number one. And with
five other teams, you got five by five, five more
teams four grand each. Okay, so that's who's number two.
Let's go Baltimore Baltimore two and how much? Four grand? Okay?
Who's number three? I would say, who am I missing? Buffalo?

(05:12):
Just beat yeah? Buffalo? Sorry Buffalo? Do you want them
in there? Okay?

Speaker 5 (05:15):
You got Buffalo behind Baltimore? Yeah, and how much for them?
Four grand?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Everybody else is for Okay? What if I told you
you can't? They all can't be equal bets.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Ok let's start over. So then I'd go ten grand
on Kansas City. Okay, what do you got on Baltimore Baltimore?
I would say, Oh, I'm so bad at math? Eight grand? Okay.
So you're at eighteen. You got seven grand left? What
do you got for Buffalo? Is there? Your third team?
According to you, Let's go two grand? Okay? So you're
at twenty.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
You have five grand left, and you got three teams
to choose, and you don't have to put any on
any of them. Okay, what's number but you have to
spend the twenty five grand, So you're at number four
and I so you still have Pittsburgh Chargers and Texans.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I would go, damn it. And you got five grand left,
I would go Texans next. You said, I have five
grand left, so you're going Texans fourth. Yeah, Texans fourth,
and you have five grand left. So what are you
putting on them?

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Twenty five hundred down to twenty five hundred and two
teams left, which are the Chargers and the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I would go Chargers one thousand bucks.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Well you can't. You got twenty five hundred left. You're
putting fifteen hundred on.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
A sorry, fifteen hundred on the Chargers, and then a
thousand on the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
So in your mind that the way they're today, not tomorrow,
not a week from now, not after the three games
and ten days. No, right now you have the Texans
as they sit, is the fourth best team in the AFC.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I think between four, five and six. It's really it's
the Texans, the Steelers, Chargers. You go Chargers, Steelers, Texans.
I'm just gonna have the hometown what's the difference between
the third team Buffalo and the Texan in your mind?
How big a distance?

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Well, money wise, it's it's twenty five hundred bucks I think, no,
thirty five, fifteen hundred on them, in five thousand on Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Okay, yeah, I think Buffalo Josh Allen is playing, he's
playing better than your MVP. Yeah, okay, all right, So
they are finding ways to win when I feel like
the Texans are not. Okay, and yet the Texans beat them,
right okay? And it was close. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
So now is there how many teams in the NFC
today can win the Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Win it? Win it? Philadelphia, Detroit and that is it.
That's it for me. Would you put both of them
ahead of the Texans? Yes, okay, I will put Detroit
at the top of the list right now, ahead of
Kansas City. Yes, okay.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
If I said, distribute your money, Eila and all are busts,
I'm giving you ten to one odds if you would
you put twenty five grand on Detroit, not any on
anybody else. If I gave you those kind of odds
to twenty five grand and you get ten to one,
so you're twenty five times ten if you win, are
you yeah, I would do it all on that.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah. Okay, so you take Detroit over the field, is
what you're saying?

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Right now?

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Okay, So you got three teams in the AFC, two
teams in the NFC, so right now you would have
the Texans.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Is your six best? Odds? Is there any is Green
Bay better than Houston in your mind? Right now?

Speaker 5 (08:13):
I think they're pretty much even. Okay, pick Minnesota, Green Bay,
or Houston.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Give me the order. In those three Minnesota, Green Bay, Houston,
I would go, oh man, I mean one and two.
I think Minnesota has fallen, so I think they would
have been number three. So I think it'd be Houston
Green Bay. I think Houston has a better defense than
both of those teams. Even though what's the defensive coordinator
from the Vikings, Brian Flores? Uh huh, he's doing a
great job. I still think the Texans are a better defense.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Okay, So other than Detroit, is there anybody else in
the NFC you think is better? You got Philadelphia better
than the Texans, Texans? Yes, okay, so that would make
better playmakers. That's three, four, five, So you have the
Texans is his sixth best team, right, Yeah, so only
two teams in the NFC, three teams in.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
The AFC ahead of the TECH. I mean you look
at the NFC nobody in the West. Nope. You look
at the South, Arizona. No. Yeah, you look at the South,
Atlanta or Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is gonna have to
they've lost. Tampa Bay's lost four. No, they're not very good. No,
Atlanta six and five. No. You look at the NFC
North and you got three teams Detroit, Minnesota, Green Bay.
You have ten thousand dollars today and then then then

(09:22):
the NFC East you got Philadelphia and then Jayden Daniels
led Commanders.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
That's another one. Washington or Houston, Houston. Okay you said
that on equivocally like snow brainer.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
So six one last question is would you if they
played on a neutral site today? Forget the records. You're
picking the forty nine ers of the.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Houston man, I forgot about the forty Their natral site
doesn't matter. Neutral site today. I'm taking the forty nine
ers and there they may not make the playoffs. It's
crazy to think about.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
So you'd take the forty nine, which really says and
you know why, which really says that you think you
got now seven seven teams in front of them.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Oh, they'd be seventh. You have six teams, three in
the NFC, three in the A. If the Texans can
put it all together offensively for one game, I would
take them over San Francisco. But I think the play
calling would be better for the San Francisco forty nine
ers than the Houston Texans. We've seen it. Okay, Hey, guys,
Ryan called. He said, you guys don't think Detroit is
gonna win? I said, we said Detroit first and foremost.

(10:24):
I said, yeah, I said Detroit goes. He said he
said he'd put Detreat, said he'd go all in on Detroit.
Twenty five grand on Detroit to win it all, right now, Yeah,
I said number one.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
At the beginning of the year, we both I had
Detroit in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Same same with me.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
So that Detroit detroits and no brainer. I can make
the argument that Detroit's the best team in football.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah I can.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
So.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Yeah, Detroit's the Detroit's I have no argument there. That's
why I said the forty nine is that roster. Talk
about a team that's underachieving.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
The show.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
I know they've been hurt, but who hasn't. So you
have six teams better than the forty nine. I mean
then the Texans in football and one of them may
not make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
You think that's fair. I think it's worth discussing, and
I do think it's fair. Yeah, you know what you
You asked me. Now I'm gonna ask you as we
get in the next segment, we'll also get to some
calls seven one, three, two on two five seven ninety
next on Sports Talk seven.
