(00:29):
k, here's Noah Clark and AidenMichaels. Hello everyone, and welcome inside
Lavon Arena here in Madison, Wisconsin. Aid and Michaels and Noah Clark here
with you tonight on Fox Sports tenseventy the Game. Welcome to our pregame
show. It's Wisconsin and Bamigie Stateand loss to talk about before we start

(00:52):
this game. I do want tofocus on the goaltending, which is something
we do talk about a lot.But a six nothing win against Minnesota State
last weekend followed by nine to nothingwin in a first career shutout for freshman
goaltender Ava mcdonton. So Jane Gervayand Ava mcdondon's got the job done.
Safe to say we're gonna see somethingsimilar this weekend? Yeah, And I
mean it wouldn't surprise me if wesee this happen again. I mean the

(01:15):
you know, Mark Johnson's gone tothis, Mark Johnson's gone with this tanem
a little bit and it's worked. It's been very effective. Wisconsin has played
really well too on the defensive side, not only you know, just with
goaltending, but overall defensively, they'veplayed well. They have not given up
more than five or six goals agame. And you take away the fact
too with the Boston College matchup oryou know, in the Minnesota State matchup

(01:40):
they have They've played really well. They've played really good hockey so far.
Goaltending has been really impressive. Anduh yeah, Mark Johnson, I think,
you know, is feeling pretty happywith with the way his goalies are
playing right now. Oh, absolutely, he definitely is. And the way
their offense has been producing as wellhas been unbelievable. First of all,
they've scored fifty four goals in sixgames, are averaging nine goals per game,

(02:01):
which is just unbelievable. They've onlyled up six goals. Changer Ay
letup three, Avia McNaughton led uptwo, which is just unbelievable. And
those three goals that Changer Ay letupwere in one game, so she's had
shoutouts in every other game. It'sjust been unbelievable this team and what they've
shown so far, and this isexactly why they're number one. And this
is gonna be an interesting one becauseBimigie State, we know, they like

(02:22):
to play more defensively, more conservatively. They like to throw their bodies in
front of the pucks. They didlose to Lindenwood, which is a team
that Wisconsin scored six against in thefirst game and then you remember sixteen in
the next game. So to seethat Bimidgie State lost to them is definitely
very interesting. But I don't thinkit's gonna be as much as a blowout
as many of you may think, just because as I said, they play
more conservatively. It's gonna be avery defensive game on their part. They

(02:45):
need to get that going and ifthey can hold them Wisconsin to a few
goals in the first period, Iknow that's not really the best game plan
is they hold them to a fewgoals, but if they can do that,
that's a win for them. It'sall about the defense for Bimidgie State
tonight. Yeah, and defense isthe name of the game and a lot
of times in hockey, and whenyou get these low scoring games, and
it could be a low scoring gametonight. When you get one of those

(03:07):
low scoring games, Let's say BimigeeState scores first, they're gonna try and
hold the puck and they're gonna spreadit out a bit and tire Wisconsin out
and make them have to work forevery inch of the puck. I'm curious
to see what the Badgers are gonnado here. How do they stop Imitgei
State? The thing too with BamigieState in Wisconsin, This game, in

(03:27):
terms of a hole is very onesided. Wisconsin is eighty eight six and
uh and five in their in theirin their matchup, excuse me, eighty
eight to seven and five overall inthe series history. So Wisconsin really knows
how to take care of business whenit comes to Bamigee State and the Beavers.
I wouldn't be surprised if we seeWisconsin throttle again here, because that's

(03:52):
what they've done in first periods. They put their foot in the gas and
they do not let up at all. Yeah, and pretty much every game
so far this season. Yeah, they're for periods have been absolutely incredible,
and sometimes the game almost ends inthe first period, and other teams lose
that confidence when you go down fivenothing four or five six nothing in the
first period. One thing for BimidgieState, with this hot power playing that

(04:14):
Wisconsin has, You've got to stayout of the box. That's important.
You've got an incredible power play unitin Wisconsin and you just have to stay
out of the box. If youget unnecessary penalties and you get in the
penalty box a few times, Wisconsin'sprobably gonna capitalize on those, and that's
something that needs to be stopped. So the defense and stay disciplined, stay
out of the penalty box, andyou'll be fine. Yeah, And I

(04:34):
mean you look at Wisconsin with theline that coach Johnson has gone on a
lot of those power plays, CaseyO'Brien, Kirsten Simms, Caroline Harvey,
Brittack Curl and Lacy Eden. Thathas been their most effective line on power
plays and on special teams. Theyknow how to be you know, they
know how to put the puck inthe back of the net, and they
know how to get good shots andgood opportunities at shots. So yeah,

(04:57):
if you're Bromidgie State, You've gotto be careful. You've got to play
smart. Don't let the game, you know, get out of hand in
terms of you don't mind games, don't let it get out of hand,
and don't don't take stupid penalties.Be smart with it because otherwise, if
you if you get a penalty,Wisconsin's gonna bounce right on it. And
with the way that their power playhas gone this season to start, it's

(05:17):
been pretty impressive for the Badgers.Yeah, and Lacey Eden is a player
that we should talk about, andshe on the power play has been unbelievable.
You mentioned that power play unit asecond ago. Four power play goals
for Lacy Eden. This season, she's got eleven total fourteen points. Has
just been a driving force in thisWisconsin offense and power play. There's not
really anything you can do to containher. I think she's probably gonna have

(05:40):
another good game, but that's someoneyou need to watch out for. Another
player I want to mention Jane Gervay, who we already talked about the goaltending.
She seemed to have found her confidenceand I think we saw in that
Boston College game where she let upthose three goals her only three goals allowed
in the season. She lost alot of confidence. It was three goals
on around fifteen shots, which wasnot ideal for her. But she's really
found her confidence. She's had someshutdown games ever since that. Yeah,

(06:03):
and she's kind of turned the corner. I mean, she's she's, like
you said, gaining her confidence andreally starting to find her you know,
find her rhythm, find her grooveon this Badger team and in net for
Wisconsin. I mean, I I'mexpecting another big night from her. I'm
expecting I wouldn't, I don't wantto say the S word, but I'm
expecting another big night from her tonight. Because, uh, as we get

(06:26):
down this as we get closer andcloser to the midway point, and as
this season starts to build, youknow, conference play is gonna get a
lot harder. You're gonna have teamslike Ohio State, Minnesota, Minnesota to
Louth, Saint Cloud, you know, those teams that know how to score
and know how to generate offense. But Midgie State, they don't generate really

(06:46):
good offensive play. And that's reallywhat has helped, you know, this
Badger team in terms of goaltending reallygets settled in and really just you know,
get get control of the game. You know, don't don't let it
get out of control. We lookat Jae Gervay, she has kind of
let the game get out of controla bit in a couple series. But
last weekend she proved that she isa top goalie for this team and maybe

(07:09):
a top goalie in the country.I mean, she's done a phenomenal job
for this Badger team. End up, you gotta give credit to her.
She has done very well. Lastweekend was a great performance for her.
Can't wait to see what she doestonight. And I'm sure Mark Johnson has
been preparing for this defensive battle that'sgonna happen tonight. As far as Bumigi

(07:30):
State's style of play, do youthink that Bamigi State would switch things up
here and kind of you know what, Wisconsin's expecting us to go defensive.
That's how we've been against them inthe past several years. Do we try
and drive some more offense? Imean, their offense hasn't been so great.
They've had one player really that stoodout that scored most of the goals,
and that's Hailey Armstrong. But otherthan that, there haven't been too

(07:51):
many goal scorers on this team.So do you think that BAMIGII State should
try and change it up against thisWisconsin team or just stick to their roots
and hope that maybe it'll work.Honestly, I think if you're a midgie
state, with the way that thisBadgers team has played, you'll look at
last week against Minnesota State and againstthe Mavericks Wisconsin, like in the first
game, first first game of theseries, they were already up, like

(08:13):
the first goal, then it's thesecond goal, then it's the third goal.
They were up in the first periodby quite a bit. If you're
a midgie state, I think youwant to put that pressure on Wisconsin a
bit. I wouldn't be surprised ifthey're going to go aggressive in this first
period and try and make Wisconsin forcesome passes because a couple times Wisconsin has
had a couple bad defensive breakdowns andit is really paid off for a lot

(08:35):
of teams to get some easy goals. So I think if you're amidgie state,
you want to get off to thisfast start. You want to play
who hass If you're in this gameagainst the Badgers, you will have to
see. And going back to thatnine to nothing wins that Ava mcdonnin first
pier shout out Mark Johnson's six hundredthcareer victory. You'd think any coach would
be extremely excited to get six hundred, and you'll hear it in a later
interview with Mark Johnson. I spokedin before the game, he's a very

(08:58):
humble guy. He just said, onto the next one. Six hundred wins,
Okay, on to six oh one. He doesn't care, but we
should acknowledge the fact that he hasgotten his six hundred win probably solidifies himself
as the greatest women's hockey coach inhistory. I'd say, yeah, And
I mean, you look at it, Coach Johnson, with that mentality of
next, of next, onto thenext game, that's what this Badger team

(09:20):
is really gonna be feeling this year. They're gonna be a team that you
know, is not focused really onthis certain team or this certain game.
They're just going down the schedule, playing opponents left and right. They don't
care who's in their way. They'regonna beat you no matter what. And
and Mark Johnson getting a six onthe win, Yeah, that was very
historic, very historic, win.I mean, he's the ninth coach in

(09:41):
college in women's or men's hockey toreach that feat. But to him,
it's just another win, just anotherwin, and all those championships too,
just another win exactly, just anotherwin. It's pretty unbelievable what we're seeing.
And it's just the way that theycan get a huge win on one
game or in one weekend with abig series win and just go from that

(10:01):
and just say okay, like yousaid, game by game, forget about
that nine to zero win we hadlast weekend. We've got a new opponent.
Now we've got Bimigi State. Sothey don't like to dwell on anything.
They like to just get up andgo yeah and Bamiji State. I
think, you know, we'll we'llpose a bit of a test here.
You know, they haven't won agame yet, so this is this is
gonna be interesting. I feel therecould be a potential upset brewing. I

(10:26):
feel like this game is gonna bevery close tonight. It's gonna be very
tight. Expect the unexpected eight andthat's all I'm gonna say. Expect the
unexpected tonight here at Lebon. Definitely, there's nothing that we can predict we've
seen already this season. Things aren'tgonna happen the way that they normally happen,
all right, So we're gonna takea quick break. Thanks for tuning

(10:46):
in to the pre game report.Put drop in just a few moments,
Aid and Michaels Noah Clark on FoxSports ten seventy. This is Badger Women's
Hockey presented by Goodwin's Jewelers, TheDiamond Store of Madison. Back here in

(11:20):
the Wisconsin Badger Women's Hockey pre gameShow presented by Goodman's Jewelers, The Diamond
Store of Madison. Aiden, youhad a chance to talk with coach Johnson
before the game, and that wasa good interview that you had the Yeah,
it was a good time. Obviouslywe spoken. You'll hear in a
second about the six hundred win, which he did not really want to talk
about at all, but he gotinto some things, especially the goaltending matchup,

(11:41):
which is something that we always talkabout. So that'll be a good
one and we'll hear in just amoment. Yeah, the first three congratulations
on six hundred. How do youfeel getting ready for the next one?

(12:03):
Just another win? All right?I just want to talk about Jane and
Ava in that both had shutouts,Ava getting her first one. How impressive
you been so far with their appearancesin NET. Well, I think for
both of them, especially for Ava, you know, getting her feet wet
as a freshman, it's been funto watch her grow and hopefully she'll continue
to grow and she gets more experienced. By giving her an opportunity to play

(12:24):
early in the season was what wewanted to try to do. We've done
that, and so she seems toget more comfortable each time she's in NET.
And certainly we're gonna need both ofthem if we're gonna have a successful
season. So they've both gotten sometime, but you know, they haven't
faced a ton of opportunities against them. So hopefully as we continue to progress

(12:45):
and give them more opportunities, theirworkload will increase and they'll continue to get
better. And I want to talkabout Lacey as well, and she's just
been unbelievable. What's the key toher success? I just don't understand.
I talked to her last week andit's just unbelievable what she's doing so far.
Well, I think a lot goesinto what she puts into, you
know, getting ready in her preparation. I mean, whether it's during the
summer getting a chance to play withthe national team, what she's done there

(13:09):
every part of the season. Imean, she is I call her a
rink rat. She's at the rinka lot, she's on the ice a
lot. She wants to continue toget better. She works at her game,
and it's fun to watch those kidsthat put a lot of time and
energy to becoming a better player havesuccess, especially a lot of the season.
So as she continues to work, her confidence continues to get better,

(13:31):
hopefully should be able to do whatshe's done the next six games that she's
done this previous six games. Isthere anything in practice that you guys stress
that maybe you wanted to fix fromthe last series. Obviously some big wins,
nothing really too bad going on,but anything that you changed going in
it today? Well, I meanthis weekend similar to you know, the
way we started last weekend, istrying to get off to a good start,
to try to you know, getthe puck in the offensive zone as

(13:54):
quickly as we can, drive thenet, get the puck to the net
as quickly as we can, becauseyou know, similar to we saw last
week and you know, once youget into the zone and you haven't had
a scoring opportunity or the puck thatthey pack it in, they block shots.
But you'll do the same thing thisweekend. So your best chance to
create scoring opportunities is on that rush, which we've been pretty good at the
last couple of weekends. So andthen the second point is we've got to

(14:18):
continue to compete. That's our mright now. We've got six good games
where we've done that at a highlevel, and so you have six period
this weekend, and are we goingto compete in all six of those periods
of That's what I'm looking for personally. All right, thanks coach, all
right, appreciate that, BA seeit. Appreciate it. And quickly before

(14:39):
we get to puck drop here,we're going to take ten seconds station identification.
This is Badger Women's Hockey. You'reall Badger Sports stationed. We are
WTSO Madison and iHeartRadio stationed Wisconsin playingbut st tonight here. This should be

(15:01):
a fun one. Noah Clark joinedby it and Michaels. We've got Wisconsin
hosting Bamigie State and the Beavers anda good one here. Wisconsin six and
zero to start the season. Thisis their last home series before they go
on the road again, and theyhave dominated the competition to start. I
mean domination, that is the word. I'm glad to use that, because

(15:24):
they have dominated everybody so far thatthey've played and they're gonna want to keep
going. And we'll see that tonightas puck drops here in Madison, Wisconsin
and Bamidgee State, get this underwhere we're gonna do that hockey real quick
starting lineups two Layla Edwards, VivianJungles, Casey Obrian, Kirsten Simms,
and Jane Gervay is in net andfor the other side from Emigie State,

(15:48):
Taylor Nelson, Gabby Smith, HaileyArmstrong, McKenna Deering, Ryan Riley Reeves
and Abby Thompson will be in net. That got the center Ice Armstrong dumps
it in no icing call that iswaved off. Wisconsin Gonna try and get
it back into the zone. Edwardsa little passed to Casey O'Brien. She

(16:08):
takes it on end, then stolenaway by Santo, now stolen away by
Sims. Sims racing in looks nicepast. They go right into the zone
on a pass to Burt of Curlthat can't connect and reeves we'll move it
around. Puck bounces back up tocenter right. Santo almost thought she could
get that. No good. Wilgrinhad it on her stick, lost it.

(16:30):
Cassie Hall had a Lacy Eden. That lineup of Eden, Harvey and
Curl has been very effective, Aidento start the season, one of the
best lines maybe in college hockey. Here's Cassie Hall weaving in almost a chance
as she missed that one. LacyEden passed and a whistle and we have

(16:51):
a stop and officials come to getI think it was the linesman that blew
his whistle as well. But youknow we're gonna have a penalty coming up
here. Aiden, We're about tofind out. We'll wait the call right
now. Too many players on theicen too many skaters, so it's just

(17:15):
too many skaters. Is it gonnabe on the Midgie State or Wisconsin?
Nobody in the penalty box. Penallybox is open, and it looks like
gonna it's gonna be Wisconsin. PowerPlay still looking for somebody ska but Midgie

(17:37):
State still needs a skater to comeinto the into the box. There's gonna
be the unlucky one here, andthey finally got one. Kayla Santa looks
like she's gonna be serving this onefor Bamigie State Wisconsin. Now we talked
about the power play, what'll besafe, stay out of the box if
you're Bymidgie State, They've already foundthemselves back in the penalty box to start
the game. Just less than twominutes in powerplay for the Badgers, face

(17:57):
off one by O'Brien goes to kickcar Aline Harvey, puck tipped up by
Smith. That one goes up,picked up by Sims off the tip,
Curl gets it cross ice, passedto Casey O'Brien, O'Brien weaving around looking
for a pass. One A curlfires and a shot from Sims that doesn't
go. She gets the rebound.Kirsten Simms, looking being pressured by Smith,

(18:18):
puck stolen away by Nelson and dumpsit down into the Badger's zone zero
zero. In the first two minutesof this first period, Wisconsin. On
the early power play, Kirsten Simsskating on in Sims lost control of it,
regains it now looking for a pass, finds breda curl, curl struggling
to figure out where that was,and now a pass to Caroline. Harvey

(18:40):
whiffed on it and it goes aroundDeering, holding on to it and now
taking away by Sims. Simms fired, look for Lacy Eden. That one
was no good. Fuck stays inthe zone. Harvey dumps it to Eden,
now to Curl. Now goes backto Eden. Now back to Kirsten
Simms, now to Sims, backto Harvey. Harvey waiting, now looking
for O'Brien, finds O'Brien, CaseyO'Brien weaving around now looking one time shot

(19:07):
no good. Let rebound from Carl. It's no good and Lacy Eden gets
it back off the rebound up topto Carolina. Harvey now picked up by
Brittet Curl, Curl with a backhand. It passed. No one was there
and it travels back out to centerice and now taken away by Hendrickson.
She'll send it back around thirty secondsslept on this power play for Wisconsin and

(19:29):
the Badgers so far have seemed abit off here in this first period.
Case O'Brien, a little pass,Talela Edwards, Edwards weaving through the defense.
No good, sent back out byNelson Wilgrin waits for it at center
ice. Now back to Edwards intothe zone, cross ice pass off the
skate of Smith and now Smith racingwith Vivian Jungles. Was seven seconds left

(19:52):
on this power play, and itlooks like Bmiji's State gonna kill it.
Maddy Wheeler on a pass that's deflectedand Bamigie State kills that power play.
I mean, it's a decent penaltykill from Bimigi State, but that is
a very poor power play from Wisconsin, very sloppy on that penultimate zone entry
they had. Here, Santo fireson that puck, is saved by Gervai

(20:14):
with a glove save, and thenthere's Santle coming out of the box and
getting a shot on goal. Butagain that power play very sloppy from Wisconsin.
I'm very surprised, to be honest, with their top unit out that
zone entry they had. They didwell to maintain possession, but it was
very sloppy. They weren't connecting onpasses, they were giving it away.
Not ideal for the Badgers. Faceoff one by Wisconsin. Gorbat Tenko wins

(20:37):
that one and we'll send it around, goes to Ava Murphy now looking back
on the turnover is Forresburg and Gerveywill take it after a pass from Johnson
is held. We've kind of seenobviously. Most's period has been Bemigi State
on the penalty kill, but sofar, so good from them. They're
playing the defensive style that we thoughtwe would see. It does some good

(21:00):
shop blocking as well on that penaltykill, but so far, so good
from Bemiji State. Potter got itand goes to Abra Murphy, sarahwa was
Nevitch little bass off there stolen byHendrick sarahwaz Nevitch having a great start to
the season. The pace that she'sgoing, she could over. She could

(21:21):
go for career highs in points alreadyat eight this season as we have an
icing, yeah if you assists fivegoals for her. So far, she's
been one of those players that andwe mentioned this last weekend. The stats
speak for themselves. She's got eightpoints looking for that career high. But
off the puck, she's easily oneof the best players the Badgers have faced.

(21:41):
Off one by Gorbat tent go Blaney, Potter racing towards it, battled
in the boards by Nelson. Thatone goes back up to Reeves. Reeves
fires on just a bit wide teeringracing towards it along with wa was Nevitch
that goes around Abra Murphy trying toget it. Now here's a shot up
top and that one was saved.Gabby Smith was wide open on that,
racing the other way. Mariann Picarddumps it in. Was Nevich gonna chase

(22:03):
it. Thompson sends it around nowgoing to Smith and Smith can't get it.
Was Nevich gonna get it back inthe zone now going to Cassie Hall
fired that shot was blocked right oundshot that was no good. Britta Curl
was down in the crease. Hearingsends it up and back out is Sheela
Edwards keeps it in the zone.Edward's looking for a pass finding Britta Curl.

(22:26):
Good defensive play and a great defensivemove by by Alissa Watkins. Cassie
Hall tries to weave around with it. That stolen away and taken back out
and I stick back out the center. Ice Lacy eating a brit of Curl
Curl trying to get the step onSmith and Curl and I shot eat it
with and I shot in a save. Is foally made by Thompson. A

(22:47):
couple of good opportunities there for Wisconsin. But going on the other end,
that shot blocked in front by MarianPicard. That's probably the best chance we've
seen. And it didn't even geton net because it's a gray block.
Putting her body in front of thatone Picard. They c O'Brien and take
this face off with Zillish and she'llwin that face off. Davis tries to

(23:11):
get it and we'll send it around. Zillish moving it now, santle stolen
away by Caroline Harvey. Harvey lookingthat passes intercepted and on the other end
is Davis, but in off sidesis called and we will have a face
off coming up just barely offside there. That would have been another great chance
for Bemiji State. Another turnover fromCaroline Harvey. It's rare. It's rare
that she does that. She's justdone it again. Sloppy start again from

(23:34):
Wisconsin, not just on the powerplay, but god even strength as well.
Zillish lost that face off this timeand Wilgrin got it for Wisconsin.
Pucked down in center ice, O'Brientakes in into the zone now still trying
to chase it as cursed and Simson Forsburg and Forsburg racing around. Now

(23:55):
one gets it now sends it backto center ice where Caroline Harvey waits for
it. Harvey looking now find Simson the skate, Sims weaving on in.
Sim's getting around Sims trying to geta shot in a great safe made
by talks to me that buck isloose. It's still loose down to the
crease. Who's gonna find it andwe'll have a Tompson save it. No,
that buck is still lose. O'Briancomes away with it. I don't

(24:18):
know what happened, but calamity downto the crease and Wisconsin came away with
it and they'll re set It.Looks like some players started to stop.
They thought that puck should have beenfrozen, but it was loose the entire
time. Oh, Brian Edwards,Oh that's a great pass to Kirsten Sims
waiting for something that finds O'Brien hada great defensive players made by Smith racing
the other way. Now is Reeves, Reeves going in fire shot and a

(24:44):
save made by Gervai. Oh whata chance. That was a great pass
to get it to Kirsten Sims, who did amazingly there to stop up and
make that second pass but doesn't getthrough. And then a good countertack with
Mimigie State getting a shot on goal. It's a little closer than we expected,
No, a lot closer in agame like this, it's very tight.

(25:07):
Sconsin seeming very tight to start, helgas in to Wheeler that one's stolen
away by Hendrick, and Wheeler getsit right back. Wheeler being pressured by
Carney and now it passed to AvaMurphy, that goes to Sophie Helgison.
Helguson tried to thread it in andWheeler gonna race to it. She's gonna
win that race between Brown and atmove Potter so will to Murphy top a

(25:36):
shot that was saved off the padfrom Abbie Thompson and Hendrick gonna race with
it. Potter gonna control it.Potter now skates, starts the run,
little pass to Kattlowski, dumps ininto the zone of Bimigis State. Potter
gonna race towards it, Wheeler gettingit. A little push and a little
shove from drou from Dronin and andit was not good. That was back

(26:03):
to the other way and now Wisconsinracing in sarahwa was Nevitch the little pass
wanted to go to Hall or actuallythat's Picard Picard to Jungles. Good pressure
by Bamigi State Deering gets it andnow stolen away by Gorbatenko to was Nevitch.
Jungles waiting for it up top,now dumps it in the backhand pass

(26:23):
to Wasnvich now goes to Jungles lookingfor a pass. There was nothing there.
Deering with good defense and Wasnevitch firesa pass that goes to Bacard Picard
now tow Wasnevitch. Was Nevitch lookingfor something? Smith ends that one and
now sends it back out to centerice where Armstrong is waiting for it,
and Armstrong skates in gets right bySheila Edwards, Gorbatenko having the chase and

(26:47):
Armstrong has no help to Miidgie Statemaking a line change. Here's a little
pass down Lowa shot that was blacked. Good play from Forestburg. She was
sitting right out for it and JaneGervai made the save. Zilich's gonna get
it and it will be stolen awayby Lacy Eden Eden takes it into the
zone. Now back to Britta CurlCurl fires. That shot was too high
and that trickles back out. Nowgoes to Caroline Harvey, Anna Wilgrin.

(27:11):
Woolgrin that one was deflected off thestick of scantle of Santle and Forstburg takes
it back. Now going back downinto the badger zone. Is Anna Wilgrin
sending it back to Britta Curl Curlbattling of the boards, Cassie Hall controlling
it, skating in a block toone body's tumbling at the ice, Lacy

(27:33):
Eden stumbled, Cassie Hall gets itback and Santoll with a nice little poke
of the stick is able to stopthat run from Cassie Hall, and Forrestburg
will control it and send it backthe other way. Wilgrin waiting for it
up top fires on a deflection anda save made by Thompson. Cassie Hall
had a little piece of that atbeing there as well. That's a good
composure there from Thompson to make thatsave. But I mean it's simple for

(27:57):
me. If you're Wisconsin, cleanit up. If you're Bimigi State,
keep going. You're doing well againstthe number one team in the country.
When you haven't won a game sofar this season, you're doing well.
Wisconsin needs to clean it up.Eight shots, two three, Wisconsin leaning
a category. Here's Harvey looking downlow. That one has thwart it away
and sent back out by Reeves chasingon the end. His head is Johnson.

(28:22):
Now a little pulp from Jane Gervay. Great stuff by the Badgers on
the defensive side, and now Simswith a pass, now to Harvey.
Harvey racing around, now goes toSimms. Sims looking cross. Iised Talela
atwards and that one almost connected offthe skate, off the skate Reeves to

(28:42):
Deering. Now back to Reeves. Now they'll go to Carney and then sent
it down as Hendrick and Hendrick heis able to give Bimigie state that line
change. Here's another long cast thatdoesn't connect. Davis racing towards it from
Amiji State and the Beavers. Gorbatenkoracing towards it, trying to get a

(29:03):
swipe at it. Whether her stickcan't do it and b car does come
at it with a swipe of thestick. For Wisconsin had a Potter now
looking wanted a pass to Abra Murphybut can't connect and it will be taken
back away by Armstrong. Nine thirtyseven left to go in this first period,
we are scoreless. Here's Makara Altashut his saved by Thompson that was

(29:26):
sitting out there at the top ofthe crease, and she was able to
say that she shot it right onthe chest. When was the last time
we were halfway through the first periodand we didn't see any goals. I
mean, this is unbelievable what we'reseeing, and that's not very abnormal when
it comes to any other hockey team. But when we leave at the Badgers,
ten minutes gone, no goals yetfrom either side, and it feels
like forever. And with that,we're gonna take a quick break. This

(29:49):
is Badger Women's Hockey presented by Goodman'sJewelers that I'm in Store of Madison.
Still scoreless here in the first period. Nine thirty one left to go in
period number one. This is BadgerWomen's Hockey presented by Goodman's Jewelers, the
Diamond Store of Madison. Noah Clark, Aiden Michaels and made you stay playing

(30:11):
a lot of pressure to start andit's been really affecting the Badgers. They
look a bit off, look abit sluggish Ken Wisconsin, and that there's
willgriddon to Curl. Curl getting tangledup. No penalty called, looks like
it should have been a hold, and the reps say play on. Pass
goes back out to center Ice nowbe taken in by Lacy, Eat and

(30:33):
eat and holding it. Looking fora pass off a top, said Potter.
Higgins. It back on her sick, but she can't finish. Oh
my goodness, Now that puck travelsoff a pass from one Icing has waved
off. Nelson will race along withit, and Murphy hard check of the
boards. Bretta Curl waits for it. She gets it, and now she's

(30:55):
trying to start her run. Littlepass to Murphy. Murphy races on end,
going coast to coast, looked fora pass stolen away by Bryland and
Cassie Hall almost shorted that one goodpoke by Abby Thompson, the goaltender for
the Beavers. Battling of the board'sForsburg and Bryland, and now Sims sends
it back out. No whistle foran offside. Sims dumps it deeper.

(31:18):
Excuse me, Cassie Hall dumps itdeeper and it will be stolen away by
Forton. Forton off the skate ofZilish, off the skate of Santole and
now picked up by Edwards and nowstolen away by Santole. Santol racing into
the zone, flicks it in.Gonna have to make a line change at
some point for the Beavers as SheilaEdwards gets it to Laila Edwards back out
to center ice and Forstburgh dumps itback in where Edwards waits for it.

(31:42):
Now I passed to Edwards. Nowa little deflection. That was a little
pass out to sim Sims trying togo right around tumble Ay and no penalty
called in a save made by AbbyThompson. Kirsten Simms loves that move,
doesn't she. That's about the thirdtime we've seen that miss game, that
little toad drag she does, andit works almost every time, and that's
what makes the player greatest, whenthe opponent knows what you're gonna do but

(32:04):
still can't stop it. She's doneit every time and it's worked all three
times so far. Gorbetenko to takethis face off with Hendrickson and it's won
by Gorbatenko looking for a pass stolenaway by Hendrickson. P Card tried a
battle with that one, staying inthe battle with Hendrickson. That goes back
up top, back to center Ice, Wisconsin resetts, Jungles will start her

(32:25):
run. Jungles weaves around. WasNevitch gets it, was Nevitch skating around,
try to keep it in his ownbodies, tumbling crowd won a penalty,
not gonna get one. Aedwards toJungles out of a card. Puck
travels down. Reeves gives a littleextra to a card at the end and

(32:45):
Dering will back, can pass itto Watkins. Alissa Watkins flicks it up,
Woolgrin gets it. Wilgrin looking fora pass, finds that pass towads
Nevitch but can't be connected by Reeves. But a great poke check by Gorbatenko
that goes back around. Now Lunwill take it. Lun dumps it in.
Now to Johnson, we're going tobe an offside, Yes, there

(33:06):
will, and we will have aface off. It looked like it there
might be an off sidecall than therewas, and a face off and the
officials talking at the end of thatplay to Chloe Lunn for that late hit
on Marian Picard. Face off one. Lacy Eden races away with it.
Now Brett a Curl skating hard withit. Curl looking for a past to

(33:29):
Harvey. Great connection tonight and thatone was still there. Curl back up
top again. Johnson flicks it upand Johnson dumps it even further into the
badger's zone. Harvey's skating right around. Carney had to eat it a huge
hit. Cassie Hall goes tumbling down. Oh, that was a huge shut

(33:53):
from Dorin and it will be nopenalty. Nelson takes it off of Britt
of Curl. Here comes Lacy Edenracing now into it. Eden has Harvey.
Harvey crosses pass. Had a shotfrom O'Brien that goes wide. Oh

(34:13):
man, casey O'Brien was out thererebound from Abra. Murphy now goes to
O'Brien. O'Brien back up top.Tell A La Edwards that puck goes up
in the air. Armstrong hustles toit, wins that hustle, and now
Armstrong skates in with it. Fireson. That shot is blocked by Kirsten
Simms, and Armstrong almost thought thatthere would be a chance on that.

(34:35):
Sims with a great block, Pottersends it down. Droden will take it,
and that one goes up I andout of play. I don't know
if that took a deflection, andI suppose it didn't. It doesn't look
like there's any call for delay agame, but I would have thought so
too on that. With that pass, five point thirty three left, it

(34:59):
is scoreless here. Wisconsin hasn't hada scoreless period yet this season, and
it is quite shocking. Eleven shotsto three from the Badgers face off one.
Edwards fires on that one just isa bit wide off the net.
Jungles races towards it, Santal gonnaget it, and now Edwards steals it.
Edward's taking it, Wisconsin gonna controlit, and they will wheeler off

(35:23):
her stick. Now goes back toForston Forton and it goes to Edwards and
then we'll be sent back by dronand that one goes up high again from
Dronen and a whistle and a stoppageof play and we'll level another face off
coming up. Yeah. Another thingis the referees are letting them play.
That's what we like to see.We like to see a lot of potential

(35:43):
penalty calls, not thinking at thatlast one that giant check accidental, no
intent there so no penalty. Butthere have been some holes and some other
hard checks. But I like it. The referees are letting them play.
And after even that, too manyes skaters on the ice. It's been
really a physical game. Here's deeringgoing right around put card getting it,

(36:04):
can't get it controlled, and Reeveswill take it right back. Now it
goes to Forstburg, now stolen awayby Waznevitch. Not a wheeler wheeler bumping
in and now goes to Waznevitch. Was weaves on in. Wasnevitch doesn't have
help. Badger's made a line change. He's gonna have to hold out for
help. Now looking for some helpand finds it. Now gets in Anna
Wilgrin, Wilgrin weaving in. Wilgrinnow fires a shot and a save made

(36:25):
by Abby Thompson. There's twelve shotson Golden now for the Badgers. Most
of them have been straight into thestomach of Abby Thompson. There haven't been
the tips that they've been wanting. There haven't been shots to the corners down
lower up high. It's just beenstraight to the goaltender. Carney battled with

(36:47):
Curl. Curl won that face off. Here's Haul weaving around all fires off
the iron. That was a goodshot. Oh you could hear that one
from up here, and Wilgrin witha rebrown. Now to Caroline Harvey,
Harvey King. Harvey looking for apass, finds Wilgan slapshot. That one
was blocked off the stick of Thompson. Now back out, Curl gets it,

(37:10):
keeps it in the zone, laseredthat pass into Wilgrin now fires in
and a shot in a pass toLacy Eden that wasn't connected. Curl sends
it around, going behind Eden,Cassie Hall waiting for it, and Eden
gets it back Now to Wilgrin.Wilgan's trying to keep it in the zone.
Badger's trying really hard in this oneto keep it in and they do.

(37:30):
Cassie Hall now to Eden, fireson a shot and another save that
was made by Thompson, rebound pickedup by Hall. Hall cross again.
Now back to Harvey looking for apass. Harvey blocked and picked up by
Kirsten Sims. She can't keep itin the zone though Wisconsin able to or
Bmidgie's able to reset now, Simsracing in. Sims fires and a shot

(37:53):
that was blocked by Thompson. Sim'sholding on now looking down low and one
it Obrian. She was out therefor a good screen. Edwards gets the
rebound Sims it around, Sims getsit back now up top to Edwards.
Edwards with a long pass, aslap shot that is deflected. Abby Thompson
gonna fight it, but a save. Maid. That is five shots on

(38:16):
goals since the last whistle. Itwas pretty much in Themiji stage zone for
the entire time. Wisconsin peppering,Thompson now getting some more good looks at
it. As I said, theywere all in the stomach of Thompson.
The next shot off the post justinches away from our night's first goal.
We still haven't seen it. Threeh five left here in the first period.

(38:37):
Gabby Smith to take this face offwith Casey O'Brien and she will win
that. She's been dominating in thatcircle. Here's Edwards looking for a pass
to O'Brien, No good. Murphygets the rebound. Murphy a pass to
O'Brien. O'Brien holds it up onthe stick. O'Brien back to Murphy.
Now back to Potter looking. Potterfires on a reflection no good off of

(38:59):
Sims stick. Davis with the rebound, and Davis tried to send it out
gets it to Hendrickson or Nelson andis able to clear it. Body's tumbling
at center ice and now coming awaywith it as Casey O'Brien, Butmigie State
doesn't have too much help. Here'sa pass to Simms to Edwards and fires
on off the domb of Thompson andon another passer back in and one down
O'Brien that she can't finish right offthe face mask of Thompson. Kirsten Simms

(39:27):
to Murphy. Murphy spinning now findsO'Brien, O'Brien looking and a Potter Plotter
was Nevich in trouble? Loss hasto look for a pass, has multiple
green jerseys around her and one willsend it back out. Potter trying to
keep it in for Wisconsin does andwas Nevich awful? Little miscommunication for Matty

(39:50):
Wheelers. She'll take it back. She'll try to get into the zone,
but stolen away once again by Smith. Badgers will change and Bimigie State will
change bad time. Here comes thecard racing on it fires. That one's
just that's why. Picard takes itback, now goes to Wheeler. Wheeler
can't control it. Lun makes onelittle move and stolen away again. Bacard
looking for Wasnovitch fines Wasn'tavitch no good? Trying to wrap around that was no

(40:12):
good and set back. Got tocenter ice. A minute thirty left to
go in this first period, andhere's Santo racing on end for Bimigie State.
Still scoreless Wisconsin and Imigie State lookingfor that first goal, and the
Beavers have played well. Here's LacyEden now racing and Eden trying to get
between the defense. Had two defendersstumble down from Imiji State. Eden takes

(40:32):
it back, Eaden looking for anopening cross ice pass and laser that one
into Curl. Curl making one move, can't get it around Lacy. Eden
takes it now, Eden looking,Eden stopping, finding Curl no good and
a save made by Thompson. It'scoming, It's coming. Maybe not.
In this period only a minute togo, less than eighteen shots for Wisconsin,

(40:55):
just three for Bmigee State. Butagain. Their defense, that's what
we talk about. It is gonnastruggle for them to get offense going for
the Beavers, but the defense hasbeen holding it down. And how about
number thirty five. Abby Thompson's beenunbelievable between the pipes so far tonight.
Abby Thompson has seen eighteen shots ongoal, eighteen saves. James Gervay has

(41:17):
only seen three. Here's Harvey uptop. Harvey fires a little deflection past
the Lacey eaton that connect, thatcan't connect. Eden's been very active with
that puck, same with Caroline.Harvey. Harvey to curl, curl,
dumps it in Eden waiting for it. Eden sends it around, not a
curl, curl to Wilgrin up top. Wilgrin fires that one's just wide eating,

(41:40):
battling with Hendrickson, and Hendrickson comesaway with it. Cassie Hall trying
to help out on there, andHendrickson sends it around to Hendrickson. Now
back to Hendrickson, now back toDeering and During flicks it up now to
center ice and that one trickles outand it will be another whistle and another
stop to play, another close callfor delay a game again here eight.
Yeah, another close one, andthey've done so well to stay out of

(42:01):
the box. And that first onethat they have the too many players not
ideal. Those are one of thosepenalties that you can't you can't take in
a delay of game is another onewhere you need to keep your focus.
And they've got a couple of closecalls. But they've done well so far
to stay out of the box.And just mentioning the sisters there, the
Hendrickson sisters on the same line,it's the same thing when we have the

(42:22):
Edwards sisters on the same line aswell. For Wisconsin. Nineteen seconds left
to go in this first period, buck down in the Bamigi state zone.
O'Brien wins the face off in whileand Sims just takes a shot at it.
Now bat on the boards, O'Briencomes away with it, O'Brien stopping
pressure immediately and Edwards tried to getit back no good and now sent back

(42:44):
by Deering and Edwards can't get ita unlucky bounce goes back to center ice.
Now the one second and that isour period number one is gonna end.
And for the first time in avery long time, I think we
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it is a scoreless first period here
at Lebon and Abby Thompson really showingout. She saw eighteen shots, She's

(43:05):
saved eighteen shots here. This isunbelievable. Zero zero after one. Obviously
Thompson has been peppered a little morethan Gervai's Gervais has been but this is
perfect from Bimigia State. Don't changeanything. Wisconsin definitely is going to change
things. And honestly, yes, there was a lack of focus and it
was very sloppy from Wisconsin, butthere was also some bad bounces they had.

(43:28):
It wasn't necessarily their fault in alot of those. They had a
lot of bad bounces, unlucky bounces. But again the Midgia State, that
was their period and they've got tocontinue it going into the second and hopefully
they can continue it on. HopefullyWisconsin will get a goal here tonight it's
zero zero after one. When wecome back, we'll have the intermission employ
This is Badger Women's Hockey presented byGoodman's Jewelers, the Diamond Store of Madison,

(44:00):
ye Man. Welcome back to theintermission. Report. First period was
an interesting one zero zero Aiden Michaelsalongside Noah Clark here on Fox Sports ten
to seventy of the game. It'snot at all what we expected. I
mean, I shouldn't say not atall. It's not quite what we expected
as far as the scoreboard goes.Eighteen shots on goal for the Badgers,

(44:22):
just three for the Beavers, butno goals for either side. I mean,
we expected the defensive strategy from BMIGIState, but did we expect it
to work out in this good Iwas thinking limit them to three goals in
the first period. Right now they'vegot they're holding in the zero. I
mean, I'm not expecting that atall. I didn't expect that one bit
coming into this. Yeah, andjust incredible stuff by Abby Thompson tonight,

(44:45):
I mean, really has stood onher head in Wisconsin. They they do
look a bit sluggish. They looka bit sluggish. They look a bit
off tonight. They haven't been ableto connect on a lot of those cross
sized fasts that have worked in alot of games this season. The chemistry
seems a bit off. I don'tknow, just from that first period,
it didn't look like what we've seenfrom the Badgers. In the last first

(45:07):
periods in in the last few gamesin the weeks past, They've got three
periods to turn it around. Theygot two periods to turn it around.
Excuse me, they got two periodsto turn it around. And yeah,
I'm speechless. I'm speechless in thisperiod because Wisconsin usually we've seen them dominate
periods, particularly the first period reallywell, and we really don't have to

(45:29):
worry about it because they'll put theirfoot on the gas tonight, Bamidgie's State.
Like we said in pregame, theyhave put their foot on the gas.
They are playing more aggressive. Theyare forcing Wisconsin to make those bad
passes and it's working because Wisconsin can'tseem to get in rhythm. It's funny
you say you're speechless, because normallyyou would say your speech is after a
five to nothing first period, butwe've seen that so much this season and

(45:49):
in seasons past that were speechless aftera zero zero period, which is just
hilarious to me. But the MidgieState, they're goaltending. First of all,
Abby Thompson has been great. Theshots haven't been the best in terms
of quality, but she's made somegood saves. She's really held it down.
The defense for Bemigi State has beenquite good so far as well.
They need to get offense going, but again, you don't want them to

(46:09):
push too hard on offense and thenlose their defensive quality and then open the
door for Wisconsin and just start peppering. Yeah, and this Wisconsin offense,
it's at some point going to click. They're they're they're they're they're getting close.
They're getting close to getting those shots. You saw one from Marion Picard
that went off the iron that wentup into that went up high. They're

(46:31):
they're getting their chances. They're they'regetting their chances, they're getting good looks.
This second period, I just alot of there's just a lot of
I think pressure right now for Wisconsin, and you wonder if that pressure is
making them a bit tense tonight andthey're not playing in rhythm and they're trying
to not make that mistake. Imean, they're the number one team in

(46:52):
the country and when you have thatthat number, there's a lot of pressure
that go to it. So somethingwill behold in this second period. But
yeah, if you ever Midgie State, you don't want to you don't want
to get away from your game plantoo far, not at all. The
adrenaline I think is going into thisgame. Wisconsin's level of adrenaline was not

(47:16):
very high because they figured, Okay, on paper, let's see, they
lost to a bunch of teams thatwe beat by a lot, Lindenwood for
example. We've beaten Bimiji State alot over the years. I'm not saying
that's what they were saying, butthey were definitely feeling a little more comfortable
going into it. Words, AmidjiState were like, Okay, we're coming
to Madison playing the best team inthe country. They haven't lost, They
outscore their opponents fifty four to sixin just six games. So there adrenaline

(47:38):
was maybe pumping a little bit morethan Wisconsin's and it's showing as well.
I think the comfortability going into it. Wisconsin was definitely more comfortable, which
they should not have been. Yeah, and we'll see how this period goes.
I I'm just still stunned by thatby that period, because man,
Wisconsin, they outshop Amigi State, but it feels like Bemidji State has really

(48:00):
owned this game so far. Allright, Well that was the intermission report
zero zero. We'll take a quickbreak. This is Badger Women's Hockey presented
by Goodman's Jewelers, the Diamond Storeof Madison. Mill Clark joined by Kelly
glovertenco skater for the Wisconsin Badgers.Kelly first six games here at the University

(48:25):
of Wisconsin. There's seven time nationalchampion winner here. What has it then
like through your first six games hereas a Wisconsin Badger? It has to
feel amazing being here in Madison,Wisconsin. It's been very cool, just
like the first weekend home seeing thebanner raising, which was super cool,
and it's just it realized, likewhat an amazing accomplishment is to be here,

(48:47):
and just to see how the othergirls have achieved so much, and
just it makes me like want thatas well, and it's motivation going into
this year. But the atmosphere hasbeen fantastic. It's been so much fun
to play in front of the crowdand I'm excited for the future games at
home. Wisconsin is always such agreat place to play, especially for women

(49:09):
hockey. There's a lot of history, there's a lot of great teammates here.
How is you know, because thisis your first year, how has
you know the team helped you alongthrough these first six games and since you
stepped on campus here at the Universityof Wisconsin. Yeah, my teammates have
really helped me with a lot ofthe transition coming in and they've been so

(49:30):
selfless in teaching me the ins andouts of everyday practice and training, and
I really am grateful and thankful forthem to be able to help me with
that. So I don't think i'dbe where I am at without them.
Awesome last weekend you got you hadyour first taste of a conference play in
the w c h A as adominant win over Minnesota State, beating the

(49:53):
Mavericks sixth nothing in the first meetingon Thursday, and then Friday winning nine
nothing on Friday. How did itfeel getting a little bit of How did
it feel getting your first taste asa WCHA action. I mean, this
is going to be what you're goingto see through the next several months here,
and Minnesota State's only a fraction. You still got teams like Ohio State,

(50:15):
Minnesota, and Minnesota Ruth. Buthow did it feel against Minnesota State?
It was super fun to play againstthem. It was a good,
great taste, like you said,of the WHA. But it's going to
get be so competitive moving forward inevery game is a battle, So just
preparing for the next opponent and notlooking too far ahead is key to staying

(50:37):
focused. Last Weekend two was prettyhistoric for Wisconsin Badger fans. Coach Johnson
got his six hundred win. Heis the ninth coach that has achieved that
feat in men's and women's hockey. What was it like through that historic night
on Friday getting to be a partof such a historic win. It was

(51:00):
just so cool to see him breakreach that milestone, which is very impressive,
and just to see the fans supporthim as well, and to be
part of it, even just asliver of it was just like an honor.
And I just you know, noticeand like that's very well earned six
hundred wins. Just seeing it throughpracticing game and just the way he kind

(51:22):
of carries himself and teaches us aboutthe game. It's it's very well deserved.
The vibes and the lack one musthave been amazing. They were We
knew we heard about that years atfive to ninety nine in the game before,
and so we were just like playingfor him and to try to get
him that six hundredths at home.Yeah, and coach Johnson getting win six
hundred and he's also the all timewinning his coach in Wisconsin women's hockey.

(51:44):
So that's pretty it's very impressive, pretty amazing to be coached by a player
by a man like that. It'san honor to be coached by him.
So this weekend, you got yourlast one series before you go on the
road again against Mimidgie State. Thisseries is kind of lopsided. Eight in
the eight, seven and five isthe record there. This is the second

(52:06):
conference matchup. What are your thoughts? You know, what's the mindset going
into this week against the Beavers. You know, we're trying not to overlook
the poem because every team can giveus a battle because at WHA is so
competitive, So just focusing on onegame at a time and just having good
habits throughout the weekend. But I'msuper excited because I have a lot of
friends and family able to come tothis game, and so just doing my

(52:28):
best with them in attendance, butalso just doing the best for my team
and helping them out as much asI can. Awesome Noah Clark with Kelly
Rover Tako Kelly, great pleasure totalk to you. Likewise, thank you
very much. Back here for thestart of this second period. We are

(52:49):
a few minutes, a few secondsin Wisconsin zero zero against Sir wiscons Let
made you say zero zero well ClarkAden, michaels Hamijie State dominating that first
period to play, even though it'seighteen shots to three. Here's Santo racing
on Santo fires and a glove savemade by James Gervay. Another good star

(53:10):
for Bamigee's State. Great shot onnet there by Kayla Santel, and the
seniors had a couple of good lookson net so far in this game.
That first one which he came outof the penalty box, got a nice
one on net, and that oneright there, right into the glove of
Jan Gervay. But good start forthe Beavers. Officials letting them play tonight
a lot more aggressive game. LacyEden one on one, trying to go

(53:32):
right around. I'm looking for apasta, Cassie Hall on a saved may
by Thompson and wisconting back the otherway. Chloe Lund with some great defensive
play on Lacy Eden, and we'llhave a face off down in the Bamigie
state zone as a face off comingup. Haul to take this face off

(53:58):
wins it, and now Harvey getsHarvey looks to Hall. Now Eden looking
for a pass. Eden in troublehas two green jerseys around her. Now
gets it to Harvey. Harvey lookinglooking fires that one's deflected up, eye
up in the air and a whistleand a stoppage of plays. It hit
the high netting. NFA's off comingup. Now it's gonna be interesting to

(54:19):
see if Wisconsin has cleaned up alittle bit. We saw they cleaned up
about halfway through the first period. They started getting a little bit better.
The lucky pounces weren't helping them atall though. Uh but I want to
see if they can finally clean thingsup, because if they can, the
Magia state in trouble, Haul tobattle with a face off, wins it
and then Carney takes it right back. Now goes to four ten is trickled

(54:45):
down and Brylin will get it.Rylan bounce pass gets it off of her
own bounce pass and now she startsskating. Ryland dumps it in Johnson along
with Connie waiting for it. Gervaisgets it Potter flicked up not a curl.
Curl trying to clear it out therefour ten battling hard with Britta Curl

(55:07):
and you can see the aggressiveness you'reat and from the Beavers. They're playing
tough, picking up from where theyleft off in the first period. Most
certainly Brow tried to steal that onefrom Brylin, and that one goes away
Johnson to Potter. Body's tumbling atcenter ice and now Wasnavitch gets it.

(55:30):
Now goes to Picard, flicks itup and a race with Gorbatenko. Gorbatenko
gets it. Now it wasn't Evitchwas Nevitch looked for Edwards, can't control
it. Good pok of the stickby Watkins and Edwards dips it around.
Now Thompson stolen away, Percord almosthad a chance. That bucket still loose
and Gorman Tanko flicked it in andit's a save made by Thompson. That's

(55:53):
a scary one for Abby. Thompsonwent out behind the net out of her
crease to get a pass that kindof whifted a little bit, good opportunity
for Wisconsin. Luckily for Rabbi Thompsons, he was able to keep that one
out of the net. But justaparely Picard with a face off of Gabby
Smith for Amigi State and that faceoff one by Wisconsin. Picard gets it

(56:22):
to Waznevitch, dips it around Armstrongwaiting for it, and now waiting at
the other end is Jungles taking ahuge hit at the end. Penalty coming
up and Picard tumble to the boardsand we will have our first power play
of this second period. Gabby Smithis the one who gets called for it,

(56:42):
and under seventeen minutes left to go. We are three minutes into this
second period and just like last time, Wisconsin had an opportunity on a power
play. Now they couldn't capitalize. But now here they go again. They
get to redeem themselves here. Yeah, they'd like to clean it up,
and he's mentioned the referees. They'reletting them play. But that's a boarding
call that's gonna get called every time. Definitely a penalty. She'll sit for

(57:05):
two minutes and Wisconsin can they getthings going on their power play. Finally,
Eden looking to prit A curl O'Briennot a Harvey little flick pass up.
Now Sims gets it, couldn't controlit. Cleanly, but Curl is
able to help her slow it down. Sims to O'Brien. O'Brien looking for
a shot, now goes to Curlor actually Eden and O'Brien in trouble looking

(57:28):
for something now gets it at Curl. Now back to O'Brien, O'Brien looking
eating fires. That one was flippedup. Craw can't get it on her
stick. She tumbles to the ice. Armstrong tries to send it out and
Harvey grabs it with her gloves. She wasn't able to play it as she
almost went tumbling into the badger boards. Yeah, Harvey tried her best to
keep that one in there, justwent off of her glove and into the

(57:50):
bench of Wisconsin' So the face offcomes out of the zone. O'Brien,
well the face off of Henri. That one is won by Bamidgie state,
sent down again by Hendrickson and Harveystarts her run. Long pass stolen away

(58:13):
now flicked back in eleven one minuteleft to go on this power play and
sixteen left to go. Still scorelesshere in these first two periods, and
as O'Brien skates on end, tryto make a move a little around now
goes to Curl. Now O'Brien wantsHarvey, finds Harvey. Harvey looking trying

(58:35):
to find a pass, now doesfind O'Brien. O'Brien takes it in,
looks to Curl and Thompson lost thatone. Eden gets it and Curl gets
the rebound. Now to O'Brien, not a Harvey. Harvey waiting up now
looks for Sims. Sims back ona pass. Not a Harvey. We're
back to O'Brien. That one's flickedup, a little deflection, but Harvey
able to get it. Harvey fireson of the coss ticket she can't finish.

(58:57):
Oh and Lacy Eden sends it backout able to keep it in as
Caroline Harvey now going back to Sims, Sims holding it up. Now goes
to O'Brien. O'Brien flicked that oneup in the air. Buck's still down
in the crease. That one waslittle whistle plowed Buddy's tumble, and we'll
have a stoppage of play while wesee it. He penalies. The officials

(59:21):
are gonna say yes, and Wisconsingonna go to the box as well,
along with another imigee state player asWatkins and O'Brien get sent to the sin
bin. Yeah, I mean Thompsonhad her glove over the puck. It
was gonna be frozen. O'Brien tooka whack at it, which something you
obviously can't do, and uh well, Bamigie State didn't take exception to that,

(59:45):
slammed her to the ground. Theyboth get called so penaltyes for them.
Still seventeen to go on this powerplay, wil Grin fired on at
all flextion in. Cassie Hall can'tget it. Maddy Wheeler tries to keep
it int g will grind up topthe Jungles Jungles waiting not a Wilgrin power
play almost over a cross iized passthat's defflected and thwarted away by Deering,

(01:00:09):
and now here's Cassie Hall all fireson another block that's set back out.
Jungles gets it. Power play overand the Beavers are at full strength.
Layla Edwards try to hold it,can't keep it in the zone and Wilgrin
back on a cross path to Edwards. She'll just dump it in and now
Wheeler chases. Wheeler wins that chase, trying to go around deering, deering,

(01:00:31):
battling hard on the boards. Nowgoes up back to Abra Murphy,
Murphy to jungles back can it passEdwards can't get it, Wheeler can and
Wheeler tried to send it away nogood, Butmigie State trying to get it
sizing up, sizing up. Edwardswas deering, but Edward's able to reavel
around it. No penalty caught fora holding as Edwards got held clearly by

(01:00:54):
Smith. Wepsay, play on,here's Potter, not a Hall stole her
away and I'll breakaway coming on theother end, racing to it is Smith
on a buckhand head a safe bagby Ginger Bay and how Maddie Wheeler racing
to it, hustling around Abra Murphytakes it in, weaves into the zone,

(01:01:16):
fires on a safe made by Thompsonoh Man, and I excuse me,
that was Hailey Armstrong with a shoton Jinger Bay on a breakaway,
but Man oh Man, Wisconsin dodgeda bullet. Yeah, that was a
two to one zero from a Meijistate. That's not what you want to
see if you're a changer. Bay, which is Captain Taylor Nelson coming in

(01:01:40):
with Armstrong, two of Ujie State'sbest players on the breakaway by Ginger Bay
coming a big game still tied zerozero. Bobby on a bounce past Picard
zips it around. Gorba Tanko racingto it four ten, gets it and
how off the stick of wo Wasnevitchand it trickles back around icing is not
gonna be call to Caroline. Harveywaits for it and she starts the run.

(01:02:01):
Now past to Wilgrin, makes amove on Santo now goes to Picard,
flicks it around the other way.Wasnavitch waiting for it? She gets
it and was gets it to Picard. Picard waiting and Wilgrin looked into the
try to fire it no good.Picard controls it now a was Nevitch?
Was Nevitch battling hard in the boards, was zillish and sends it back to

(01:02:25):
Wilgrin laws Nevitch looking try to lookwith Harvey no good and Gorbitenko also tumbling
in the ice. Thought there wasa connection for a pass down on the
boards taken away by Harvey. Harveylooking, Harvey being pressured by Santo cross

(01:02:46):
ice passed. I was Navitch waitingfires that one was blocked and back to
centerize another chance for a breakaway Goorbitenkois able to save it from the past
from Edwards fires that one on offthe glove and up into the netting,
and we'll have another face off. With twelve and a half minutes left to
go, we are at the midstages of this second period, and man

(01:03:07):
the Badgers with twenty two shots tothe be verse five. Yeah, that
was almost another breakaway from Bamigi Statejust barely nicked off the stick to stop
that from happening. But Wisconsin pepperingthe Midgie State, but they still can't
find a way past Thompson. Simswins it, Eden getting it being peppered
at by Carney. Eden having troublenow find Sims. Sims to Edwards,

(01:03:32):
now goes two jungles, zips iton a curl. That one's no good
Man stolen away Hedrick Sims gets itback for Wisconsin, now eaten racing on
in will there be an icing theirwill and we will have a stoppage of
play and we will take ten secondstation I entification. This is Badger Woman

(01:03:52):
Tacke presented by Goodman's Jewelers. You'reall Badger Sports station. We are wo
menacin an iHeartRadio station zero zero, twelve oh five left to go in this
second period face off down in theBadger zone won by Wisconsin. Edwards gets

(01:04:14):
it, zips it around Eden gettingthere, and how Kirsten Simms racing to
it, Davis able to stop it, and how Davis goes to Lund.
Edward's getting their bodies tumbling around fromAmigie State. Eden trying to keep it
in the zone in Remigie State can'tdo it. Beaver's racing the other way,
Nelson being hacked at by Simms, and Nelson zips around, Nelson looking

(01:04:35):
for a pass. Still looking, can't find one that was off the skate
or off the stick of Sims thatwas able to flick up. Edwards battling
with it. Sims trying to getsome help does from Edwards and Simson's it
back out to Leila. Edwards tryingto get around Reeves. She does,
has no help. Edward's taking iton in can't get around the defenders.

(01:04:58):
Now look for a pass up top. No help was there, but able
to get to it was Maddy Wheeler. Wheeler in trouble now goes to Edwards,
stolen back away by Smith, nowgoes to hendricksid now stolen away by
Edwards, now goes to O'Brien.Into the zone was Maddy Wheeler and there
was a two on one wheeler ableto keep it. Wheeler fires on at
Thompson that was off at aflection.Potter gets it right back. A little

(01:05:20):
swipe of the stick from Hendrick sidPotter weaving go on it. A fire
from Edwards that buck is still loose, and Potter sends it back out up
top to O'Brien. Now back toMurphy, Murphy dumping it in. Nobody
there to reach for it. Crowdon their feet are at Lebonn puck trickled
up. Now back to center Icenow racing towards it again is Carney Carney

(01:05:42):
in a race and Murphy wins thatrace for Wisconsin. And that was actually
Watkins in that race with Murphy. It's a great defensive play from Murphy that
was gonna be a chance for RemigiState, but some physical play there from
Ava Murphy. Edwards trying to findit on her skate, does find it
and sends it in. Thompson gonnastop it now. Bryan sends it the
other way, Potter getting it.Potter a bounce pass that connects to Wheeler

(01:06:05):
now goes to Osnevich weaving around, skating around and looking for O'Brien the other
way. Can't find O'Brien, butCaroline Harvey gets it now, finally gets
it back to O'Brien. O'Brien lookingfor a pass, finds a pass is
what's Nevich? Was Nevich cross icepass to Harvey, good screen. Harvey
fires that shot, is blocked anothergood block by byb Mimigie. That's Forsburg.

(01:06:27):
Here's Wilgrin weaving on in. Wilgrintake to hack at it, no
good and sent back out by Brylan. Brylan skating in Santo tried to fire
it on. She whipped on thatshot. Harvey takes it away, being
pressured at by Santo. Battle inthe boards again. Zillish takes it,
then stolen away by Golden Tenko, who sends a pass to Wasnevitch, who's
gonna chase it? Or race withBrylan and an icing called and a very

(01:06:51):
late one at that, and itlooked like was was gonna win that race,
but the officials say, no,I was close, close, a
little too close. Usually, Iknow in baseball they say ty goes to
the runner, but usually in hockeytye it doesn't go to the offensive player
chasing that pug down. It usuallyjust goes to the defenseman. And that
it did so faced off in theBadger zone. Now, after that icing

(01:07:14):
gormat Tanko wins it for Wisconsin.Picard try to keep it out of the
zone. No good. Davis zipsit around to Nelson being pressured at by
Harvey and Nelson looking to Smith.Oh, almost a chance the defensive play.
That puck is sent up eye nowand all whistle in a stoppage of

(01:07:36):
play with nine oh four left togo in a scoreless game right now,
but Midgie State playing really good defenseagainst the Badgers here in this one.
And we're gonna take a quick break. Zero zero here at Lebon in the
second period. This is Badger Women'shockey presented by Goodman's Jewelers, the Diamonds

(01:07:57):
Store of Madison. Back here forthe second period. Nine oh four left
to go in period number two,Wisconsin zero, Bamigie State zero. Twenty
four shots on goal from Wisconsin toBamigie States five and This has been quite

(01:08:18):
a shocking game so far. TheBeavers have played it kind of tight against
the Badgers. They're not giving themtoo much space to work with at all.
Yeah, the twenty four to fiveshots doesn't really reflect what's going on
in this game. The zero zerois more like it just a physical back
and forth game. And Bamigie's reallysurprising us all here. I think Wisconsin

(01:08:38):
you could say they're surprising us aswell. Edwards skates on in, tries
to go around Deering, does getaround, try to look for a pass.
Eden, try to get it stolenaway again by Smith, and Smith
sends it to center Ice Curl waitingfor it. Now goes to Hall Haul
to Curl. Curl being poked atand now stolen away by Nelson, and

(01:08:59):
then Curl steals it right back.Officials, I think we're gonna call it
off sides either way. Edwards toEden, nice laser pass goes now to
Curl, Curl Weaving get fires offthe air. That was a laser shot,
oh man, that was a lasershot in need and that one trickles
back down. Hol gonna get itbeing pressured at by Smith's She'll make a

(01:09:21):
line change Murphy on that pass fromHall, not a Curl zips it around
Thompson, gonna stop it and nowgoes on a pass now to lund One
zips it down while there be inicing and there will be. It was
a very late whistle and a faceoff. But my goodness, Aiden Britta
Curl ripped that one and trying toget it up top and it hit the

(01:09:44):
bar and goes out and it's stillzero zero. You have Cassie Hall did
it in the first period, hittingthe post, and now it happens on
the other end here in the secondperiod from Britta Curl. This time so
close. That's just how close it'sbeen so far tonight still zero zero,
under eight to go. Here inthe second period, O'Brien wins the face
off to Potter Sims looking O'Brien almosthad a chance for a one time shot.

(01:10:06):
That's no good, great deflection.Boba Midgee state his defense has been
tight, so its Wisconsin's here's LeilaEdwards. Edwards looking fires to O'Brien on
a back in a pass that's nogood. Can't connect with Thompson that was
off the pad. Santo sends itin. Now goes to Potter. Potter
met immediately by Forstburg, and itwill tent back down edwards to Murphy.

(01:10:31):
Murphy gonna control it. Trying tocontrol it, finds Potter, Hedrick just
peppering Potter and not a Murphy, not a Sims. Nice little deflection pass
goes to O'Brien out of Edwards. No pressure there. Edward's trying to race
with it. Badger's made a linechange and Hedrick flicks it back up into
the badger's zone. Harvey is waitingfor it, does get it, Not

(01:10:54):
a Murphy. Johnson and Murphy along with getting some help from Carney and
O'Brien finally clears it. Now toHarvey, long pass, almost a chance
for Kirsten Simms, as that onesent back around Sims does get it.
Sims in trouble born battle with therea nice little pass to Harvey. Harvey

(01:11:20):
waiting now firing up top. Thatone's just a bit too high. Sims
gets the rebound, now trickled outO'Brien trying to weave through. O'Brien tumbling
to the ice, now stolen awayby Dori. In another chance stolen away
by O'Brien was Nevitch trying to makea little move, stolen back by Johnson,
flicks up and out of play intothe Badger zone. Six seventeen left

(01:11:45):
in this second period and Bmigee Stateand Wisconsin. This pace is starting to
pick up a little bit, alot more fast paced than what we saw
in that first period. Yeah, and you can sense the frustration from Wisconsin's
side. They're not happy with howthings are going on here. And the
Midgey State, I'm sure they're happywith how they've been playing, and obviously
the score so far has been goodfor them. Jeering pressured huge, hitting

(01:12:12):
the boards, Picard takes a hugetumble. She got a face full of
board and now here's rve off thewhiff from wilgrid out of Picard. Picard
in trouble, being pressured, andit's stolen a yet again and dumped in
in our race. Armstrong wins thatrace. Looks for a cross eyes pass
that's thwarted by Wilgrin and now stolenaway. Here's a passagger by oh She

(01:12:34):
made an incredible save when dumps itin, fired it on Smith. The
rebound up in the air from Picard. Nelson battling tight with wilgrind in the
boards. Picard gets it. Fiveand a half left to go in this
second period, we are still scoreless. Here, Harvey racing in Badger's made

(01:12:57):
a line change. He's gonna haveto wait for help and it presses her
in the boards. Curl gets it, not a Lacy Eden, Eden holding
it. Eden try to pass it. That one was blocked. Eden again
gets it, now looks to Curl, can't get it on her stick cleanly
and now unable to steal it.But Curl able to steal it back.
Now sent back away again by Watkins. That puck still in the Bamigi states

(01:13:23):
on. Now Watkins flicks it upand out of play, and another whistle
and another stoppage of play, andman, how many more chances do you
want? Right? This is somegood stuff. Another huge chance out front
from Amigi State, great save byGervais or I'm sensing a goal here?

(01:13:43):
Nah, sooner or later, right, you'd think. And we're getting close
to the end of this second periodin Wisconsin has dominated in this period.
Face off one, Eden to Jungles, Jungles looking for an opening, Jungles
want a Cassie Hall. Jungles firesUSh save me bye yea Thompson. Yet
again, Jungles was taking that one. She was looking for an opening,

(01:14:05):
couldn't find much there on Abby Thompson. Yeah, that was another great one
up high, but good composure fromThompson to make that save. And four
forty three here to go in thesecond period, still no score. Haul
to take this face off. You'lltake it with zillious. She wins that

(01:14:25):
one, Eating fires that shot wasblocked. Orsburg blocks that one. Now
here's another shot from Edwards that time. She drove it from the top and
another face off coming up. Yeah, Thompson didn't know much about that one.
You could see her react pretty lateto it. There were no deflections
on it. I don't think shewas anticipating a shot. It went through

(01:14:46):
a lot of bodies up front. There weren't any really in front of her.
She didn't see that until the lastsecond. Luckily went straight into her
stomach. Eating Now zips it around, Reeves, waits for it, Now
gets it reeves back. Can itpass to Deering a lot of time for
Deering, Now sends it to Forstburg, back out, Curl steals it.

(01:15:09):
Not a potter, Potter to Eden, Eden making a nice little move,
a good dug another shock for placehe eated that was just wide, Oh
my goodness. And Murphy up topa shot that was wide from Dumpson that
was off the pad. Hall getsthe rebound haul looking for something, finds

(01:15:30):
Curl Curl to Hall. Now goesto Eden, Eden looking for Hall,
Hall diving stumbling, stolen back byForstburg and Murphy doesn't let her get by.
Edwards chases it three and a halfleft Edward's whiffing on that pass and
now goes to Simms. Now goesto a Brian O'Brien skates into the zone.

(01:15:55):
Oh Brian up back? Can itpassed to Edwards? That doesn't go
or Brian able to get back thatpass from Edward off the pass from Edwards.
Not a Potter, not a Murphy. Now looking the Sims flirted away
by Carney and Johnson chasing it.Carney trying a whip at it, flips
it up, Johnson getting it.Puck trickled over the boards and here is
Edwards. Now back to O'Brien. Now back to O'Brien from a pass from

(01:16:19):
Edwards, zips it right around KirstenSims gonna race to it. Is Badger
team tired in the zone and Carneywill get it. Edward's tumbling now looks
O'Brien fired no good. I believeshe was looking for a little past to
Kirsten Simms. She wasn't there. Here's Potter to Murphy. Murphy fires in

(01:16:39):
a lot of traffic. That worfires out. Thompson puck is so worse,
and they finally whistled. They finallywhistle in a stoppage of plague,
and we'll have a face off comingup. I mean, some more grade
eight chances from Wisconsin. It justgets closer and closer, and I have
to say, Abby Thompson phenomenal inthis period and in this game. Thirty

(01:17:03):
shots on goal now from the Badgers, all thirty of which have been saved
by Thompson. Face off one bybaMiijie State. Davis gets it, being
heckled at by Picard and Nelson gonnatry and help out with Davis, Wheeler
coming away with it as Picard Picardskating around looking for a pass, finds

(01:17:26):
a pass to Wilgrin, fires onthat one is a blocked and Harvey gets
it, flicks it back up.Wilgrin takes it in tumble to the ice,
rep saint O penalty, Wheeler getsit, Wheeler on a pack can
it pass a one time shot toHarvey that didn't connect? Abel though is
Watsnevitch. Here's Wilgrin fired on ashot that is loosen. It's finally held
by Thompson again. With two minutesleft to go in this second period,

(01:17:50):
Abby Thompson is keeping the Beavers alive. The Badger is playing really aggressive now
and that offense just has not beenable to find a goal yet. If
I'm head coach Jim Scanlon for VimigiState, I want to get out of
this period so badly. Right now, it's just over two minutes left in
this period. They need to getto the locker room. They're playing well
defensively, but Wisconsin's just peppering Thompson. They got to get out of this

(01:18:13):
period. Reeves up, Wilgrin getsit and a whistle and they will call
a hand pass and so we willhave a face off coming up at center
ice. Finally they can get itout of the zone. As the clock
finally hits two minutes, Hall wonthat face off. Eden is able to

(01:18:35):
skate around with it. And keepit in that zone for the Badgers.
Reids try to get it. Curldoes Curl looking for that pass to Cassie
Hall. She finds it and nowhaul to Eden. Eden looking off of
curl skate and Thompson will save itand another face off coming up with a
minute forty one left to go inthis second period, and man, the

(01:19:00):
best line tonight so far. Thatgroup that we've said before, with Curl,
Harvey and Eden has been really workinghard to find a goal. They
have not been able to find ithere yet through these first two stages.
YEP, lots and lots of shots, but nothing going past Thompson just yet.
Here's a shot from Eden that onegoes wide. Carolyn Harvey gets it

(01:19:24):
battle little boards, Davis sends itoff the skate of Curl and how Hall
races to it. Hall can't getit. Curl can tumbling into the ice.
Here's Harvey waiting fires in a safevay Big Thompson, oh Man,
and Harvey was all alone. Shehad space, couldn't finish it into the
pads of Abby Thompson, and youcan just tell by the way she moved

(01:19:46):
when that puck came Greever Harvey. Her eyes lit up. She jumped on
that Puck was ready for the shot. Can't get by Thompson though, that's
the trend O'Brien to take this faceoff with Hendrickson. She's been really good
tonight of the face off line.Loses that one though, and Edwards tries

(01:20:10):
to keep it in. Can't doit, but Sim's able to thwart it.
Jungles takes it, skates in LaylaEdwards trying to find it, can't
find it. Shyla Edwards does andnow stolen away and now racing in his
Armstrong had a great play made byShaila Edwards. A minute left to go
in this second period. Badgers havebeen in the Bamigie State zone for the

(01:20:31):
last three minutes here and the officialswere gonna call it off sides to Omigee
State controls it. Nelson skating onin Formmigie State stolen away by Jungles.
Now Edwards gets it back now toO'Brien. O'Brien got a little step on
deering. O'Brien looking finding a pasta Sims and a chef that there's no

(01:20:53):
going off of Thompson Sims. Anotherchance from O'Brien. That one was Gorba
Teko. Here's Murphy back to Simswon and O'Brien. Simms can't get it.
Dearing sends it back out. Icingis gonna be called and we will
have another face off coming up withseventeen seconds left here in this second period.

(01:21:15):
In my goodness, there has beenso many chances. When will one
fall? It's unbelievable, it reallyis. I'm speechless, honestly, it's
just back and forth and we haven'treally seen the fuck at all in Aaron
Wisconsin's zone. The only chances ofthe Midgia State have had fuck out in

(01:21:35):
the zone. Curl gets it firedand on that was weaved out. Waznavitch
gets it down to eight seconds inthis third period, but Card gets it
back, all back, get itpassed, Carl can't get it. Carl
gets it back though, Curl lookingfor a pass. That one was so
good and that is how period numbertwo is going to end. And I

(01:21:56):
need to catch my breath. Theyneed an oxygen bottle, These players need
an oxygen bottle. Oh man, what a second period that was. Yeah,
it was unbelievable, and what Iwas good chances Bavichi had offensively in
this period. Came from almost breakawaysand counter attack for just somehow getting out
of their own zone and you know, getting on a counter attack and getting

(01:22:18):
a speedy thing going. But it'sbeen all Wisconsin, all Wisconsin. Thirty
four shots on gold. Now inthe game, Kavinchi State only have six.
But the only score that matters iszero zero, and zero zero is
a score. We got one moreperiod left to play, but before we
do that, we're gonna have theInternational Report when we come back from this
break. This is Badger Women's Hockeypresented by Goodman's Jewelers the Diamond Store of

(01:22:41):
Madison. Welcome back to the InternationalReport. Eight Michaels on Fox Sports ten
seventy the Game. I'm here withNicole Hosey and Nicole great to have you
in attendance here for tonight's matchup.I mean it's absolutely What do you make
of tonight's game so far? Imean, I think this is exactly what
this team expected to see from AmigieState, Like, this is what they

(01:23:04):
do. They're conservative on defense, they'll pack it in in front of the
net. They're very good at,you know, sort of getting in front
of box lifting sticks making it difficult. So the Badgers just have to not
get frustrated and just keep putting thosebucks to net and hit the post at
least twice already, and I think, just just keep putting those bucks in
there and eventually they're gonna they're gonnaget one through. But yeah, it's

(01:23:24):
it's incredibly frustrating when you're the oneplaying the game. But it's been a
fun game to watch. And howabout Abby Thompson didn't go for Amigi State.
I mean, how incredible has shebeen? Yeah, she's been absolutely
great. And considering it's only likeshe's only got a handful of starts before
this season started, but Midgie Statehas had a pretty good history of having
some strong goal tenders. They seea lot of shots, and I just

(01:23:45):
think she's been really impressive considering shedoesn't have win yet this this season,
but you know, she's still gotlike a goals against under three, got
a pretty decent save percentage considering, you know, the talent that they've faced
in the number of shots she's faced. So yeah, she's doing everything she
can and she gets a lot oftraffic in front of the net, and
like obviously with her defenders packing itin and she's still tracking the cut really

(01:24:08):
well, which is really impressive andas you mentioned, not a win for
her yet. So what do youthink, Obviously the game is far from
over, but what does this dofor her confidence just after these first comperiods.
Yeah, I mean, I thinkyou can see every time the Midgie
State wins a face off, everytime she makes a stop like she and
them like they're getting that bench isgetting riled up. They are taking you
know, that's ratcheting up the confidencemaybe more than a regular face off win.

(01:24:30):
Who would have the longer this gamegoes scoreless, the the you know
more that they're building off of thatand really taking that confidence. So for
her, yeah, I think thisis you know, she's I think it's
growing more than like exponentially, right, Like it's not just like one little
thing building on another. And youknow, a friend pointed out to me
from the stands. He texted me, he's like, Lumigie's getting excited about
every little thing, and you knowit's because they they shouldn't be in this

(01:24:54):
position based on you know, howthey've played so far this season, their
record so far, So I thinkthey're really taking what they're you know,
what they've done so far and reallygetting excited about it. And I'm sure
Badger listeners at home now want tohear your thoughts on how Wisconsin, they're
defending national champions Wisconsin have started offthis season. I mean, they've been
absolutely dominant so far and all thegames they've played so far this season.

(01:25:16):
Yeah, absolutely, that being said, they should have been dominant against the
teams that they've been playing, rightLike, that's it's been you know,
I want to it's been a promisingschedule for them, right Like the tougher
teams are still coming. This iswhat they should be doing. You know,
they have such a good young talentpool, right like the they're older
players like obviously Brita what she cando, and Deales with the national team,

(01:25:39):
what you know Lacy Eaton can do. But when you look at last
year's frushing class, this year sophomoresand then the freshman that came in this
year, there's just so much talent. When you're talking about someone like Kristen
Simms or Cassie Hall being maybe likethe fifth, sixth, seventh best defender
on the team or forward on theteam, Like there's just there's a lot
of depth here, and there's alot of skill in that depth. And

(01:26:00):
you see what individually they can dowith the pub when you see, you
know, the speed of some ofthe that they will be even with the
player and be able to step outin one or two strides. There's just
there's a lot of the little thingsthat makes them, I think, really
exciting to watch and are's gonna makethem dangerous And I know everyone's very excited
that WHA plays back in full swing. What are some things that not only

(01:26:21):
Badger fans but just hockey fans ingeneral can look out for for the rest
of the season, whether it's teamto look out for, players to look
out for. What are you seeingsure? I think you know earlier today
Saint Cloud State feet Northeastern. ObviouslyNortheastern lost, you know, some of
their big players. But to seea team that is considered what like fifth
fest in that WHA going out andbeating you know, the team that is
the sixth time defending Hockey East champion, that's a huge thing. Saint Cloud

(01:26:44):
State's doing really cool and interesting stuff. And I think any of the top
few teams that aren't scared to playSaint Cloud State like aren't paying attention.
So I think that's just a lotof fun. I think Minnesota State and
Cato two has just really like hassome really interesting players and that they I
think can really push Pete people. The freshman class at Saint Thomas is really

(01:27:05):
good, and I think they're gonnamake them more of a team to watch
out for. I think the hardpart about the WHA is there's like you
have these four really great teams atthe top, and so there's just a
ceiling, right like if you havea really great year, you're still probably
gonna finish fifth, and so likethere's it's I think it's a really hard
place to be when you're a teamlike Saint Cloud right now, who is

(01:27:28):
gonna fight to Like people are gonnasay should there be that many WHA teams
nationally? Things like that. Butyou know, Clara Himlova is like one
of the most dynamic staters. She'sreally she's a big, strong player.
She's amazing on the power play. And I just think like what they can
do at Saint Cloud with their twoworld class goalies, Like on any given
day, both of those goalies likecan play at a national team level,

(01:27:49):
So they have kind of a completelook and anything that they didn't have last
year. I think Brian A.Delski went out and got you know,
in the transfer portal. So Ithink they're really scary team. And uh,
I think it'll be interesting to seehow that plays out like on a
national how people view that team, like as a quote unquote fifth bass wha
team. All right, there youhave it, Nicole, I appreciate you

(01:28:10):
joining it. All right, thatwas Nicole hausey Aiden, Michaels. We're
gonna take a quick break. Thisis Badger Women Hockey presented by Goodman's Jewelers,
the Diamond Store of Madison. Welcomeback inside Lebon and Rena here in
Madison, Wisconsin, Aid and Michaels. Noah Clark on Fox Sports ten to
seventy. The game zero zero aftertwo not exactly what we expected, but

(01:28:33):
a lot of the themes in thisgame we have expected, the defensive,
conservative style of play from Vimidgie State, and uh, it's interesting because it's
been a lot of sloppy play fromWisconsin, something we otherwise did not expect
to happen. Noah, Yeah, and in the sloppy play, you know,
it's it's quite shocking. Wisconsin justhasn't hasn't seemed to find a rhythm

(01:28:55):
in this game, and they haven'treally been able to get going and really
get some good, you know, open shots. They they've had a down
that that last three minutes stretched there. They had a lot of good open
shots, but they weren't really likeclean quality shots where they were going to
set up and get a good shoton net. Give credit to Amiji State.

(01:29:15):
They are playing well. They haveput the pressure on Wisconsin consistently throughout
this game, and it's just beenrelentless. It's been relentless. And Mark
Johnson's got to adjust in this secondperiod, in this third and final period
because Bamigi State sooner or later, you know they're gonna have a chance to
score. They almost had a chancedown there in a breakaway. Jane Gervay
was able to turn that aside. But this is gonna be close. Yeah,

(01:29:38):
I'm thoroughly impressed with how Bamigi Statehas been playing and it's it kind
of brings me back to a gamethey had a few weeks ago against RPI.
They ended with a tie, wentthrough two overtimes and no goals.
They had it was a one toone game, but they were able to
just play defensively, conservatively and holddown the Ford end up getting the tie.
Obviously they'd like to get the winin overtime, but it's very similar

(01:29:58):
to the way they've been playing againstWisconsin tonight, and obviously Wisconsin being the
number one team in the nation alittle bit tougher of an opponent that they've
been playing so far this season. So lots of credit to them. I
just love what I'm saying from theBeavers, but Wisconsin needs to clean it
up, still needs something more.Yeah, and hopefully we'll see that in
this second and final period. Badgers. It's it's been been very intense.

(01:30:20):
I'm excited. This is gonna befun. All right. Well, that
does it for the intermission report.Third period starts very soon. Don't go
anywhere. This is Badger Wimataki presentedby Goodman's Jewelers the Diamond Store of Madison.
Back here for the start of thisthird and final period. Still scoreless,

(01:30:45):
Wisconsin has had so many chances.Noah Clark Aid and Michaels. It
has been thirty four shots from Wisconsinto Bamigie State six Wisconsin is still yet
to not see the puck go inthe back of the net. Butmigie State
had a cup big opportunities to makethis a one nothing gain, but Jane
Gervay shut them down absolutely. Imean that one breakaway chance. First of

(01:31:05):
all, I thought for sure onezero Amitji State take full advantage of Wisconsin
being vulnerable. But it was agreat say by Gervais. And I'm seeing
this. As the shots count gothe shotgown goes up for Wisconsin. The
quality of those shots are going upfor the Badgers as well. As we're
set to drop the puck your finaltwenty minutes of regulation. No, it's

(01:31:27):
gonna be exciting. We'll see howmany goals we get. This is still
game one of a two game seriesthis weekend. Wisconsin plays Bymigi State tomorrow
night here at Lebon and that shouldbe an interesting one face off one by
Wisconsin. O'Brien gets it and O'Brienraces in with a puck. O'Brien enough
ass to Sims try to feed itto O'Brien, can't do it. O'Brien

(01:31:50):
back out to Simms, Sims toEdwards how to O'Brien, O'Brien stopping now
finds Leila Edwards. Edward's in trouble, not taken away by Smith. Now
Edwards can't keep it in and nowanother two on one situation. Nelson has
Armstrong. Nelson fires on a saveNay by Nelson, Oh save May Badger,

(01:32:10):
Vey want a save, Oh,I want to save it out Pocketgain
had another save Bager Vay, Armstronghad a chance to go one nothing.
She's a brick wall tonight and nowEdward's racing in feeds another passidton It took

(01:32:40):
only one minute, can't see oBread has proked the time. Incredible scenes.
Chaos on one end of the iceturned into more chaos on the other.
And only one time does this puckgo into the back of the net
and it's Wisconsin and would draw firstblood here in Madison. Finally we see

(01:33:02):
it go. Let's than a minutein here Casey O'Brien finally breaks the damn
on the beavers and it is onenothing here at Lebon, we still got
a whole nineteen minutes left, though, face off one. Harvey gets it
to Wilgrin. Now to Davis.Davis being hacked up by Hall, Eden

(01:33:25):
trying to keep it in can't doit, Armstrong racing towards it, or
Forstburg racing towards it and wilgren't ableto sneak it. Harvey gets it on
her stick. Now Harvey on apass to Hall, Hall going around Haul
looking now tell Lorna Thompson Heneda can'tget it at at our check for me
to end this golf. Here's Curlto wilgrinfires, another save made by Thompson.

(01:33:51):
Curl stumbling, tumbling, Davis paddling. She tried to get it away.
Curl is able to keep it Forstburgon her stick. Now back to
Eden, Eden racing around, stoppingnow starting now Eden looking for something,
Eden holding it eat and firing ontrying to get into flection off a curl.

(01:34:12):
That's no good. Good defense fromLund. Battle on the boards.
Curl tumbles. Ice is slippery nowLun sends it back to Santel. Santo
goes down. Now back to sendher ice to Lung to Wilgrid. Line
change is coming, Rosnevitch tumbling,Caroline Harvey' stumbling to the ice and Caroline
Harvey slow to get up and awhistle and a stoppage a play, and

(01:34:34):
this is not good. No Noinstantly grabbed her knee when she fell.
This is not good, and theyhad to stop the place. She couldn't
even move as she was down onthe ice. Crowd's silent now as Caroline
Harvey still down on the ice andBadger fans everywhere holding their breath on this

(01:35:00):
one. And I couldn't make ofwhat happened, whether it was a contact
or she got something stuck in theice as she gets helped up by her
teammates Logan and Poocard on either sideof her, and she's putting a little
bit of weight on it, butshe can't skate off the ice on her

(01:35:21):
own power. But that is avery tough loss for Wisconsin and a very
big loss for the Badgers. CarolineHarvey one of the top skaters for this
Wisconsin Badgers group, and she's skating, she is not being able to put
too much weight as she goes intothe locker room. And we hope for

(01:35:47):
the best, obviously, as wedo for any injury, and we wish
Harvey to get well soon. Aswe resume play here in the third period,
puck trickles down into the Bamigie Statezone and icing called and a face
off coming up, and we're gonnatake a quick ten second station identification.

(01:36:09):
This is Badger Women's Hockey presented byGoodman's Jewelers. We are Fox Sports ten
to seventy. The game wtso Mattersondownload a free iHeartRadio app for all your
music, radio and podcast back herestarted this third Wisconsin with the first goal.

(01:36:30):
Casey O'Brien put it on in.Here's a shot on Gervais that one
was saved. Nelson fired it on, Nelson steals it away from Simms.
Nelson going around, trying to wraparound. Shot that's no good, and
how a fired shot that again isno good. Another shot from Smith that
is no good, and Nelson flicksit up. Cutlowski lost her stick.
Picard takes it up, Picard upto Waznevitch. That goes back. Maddy

(01:37:00):
Wheeler racing in, Wheeler looking that'smy card. Great poke of a stick
by Brylan and Hendrick. We'll stealit from Amiji. State flicks it into
center Ice Murphy gets it. Murphynow on a pass to Kirsten Simms.
Sims skates in trying to get aroundfourtun looking for something. Sims now finds
a pass to Edwards. Now toO'Brien, O'Brien a Murphy Murphy, O'Brien

(01:37:26):
looking, here's Potter blocked off theskate. O'Brien keeps it in the zone.
O'Brien out of Edwards now look toO'Brien, but Johnson able to thwart
that one flipped up by flipped upby Corney and Edwards gets it back or
Wheeler gets it back to Edwards. That one's goes down, Cardy is able
to control it from Imitje State Karneyskating in, goes to Johnson. Johnson,

(01:37:53):
Johnson and Carney battling with Leila Edwards. Here's Murphy Murphy skating, Murphy
trying to get around and Thompson ableto hold it with her glove. You
know, one thing I noticed, which also Nicole mentioned in our intermission report,
is whenever Bimiji State blocks a shotor sticks a skate in front of

(01:38:15):
something or anything small like that, you can just hear the bench erupt.
And that's just something that drives theenergy up from Benijie stated, I'm not
seeing much of that on Wisconsin's side. Wisconsin playing a bit tight, but
a big goal from Casey O'Brien togive Wisconsin the lead. In the early
stages of this third period, Edward'sbeing poked at Watkins steals it away.

(01:38:42):
Watkins couldn't make a move on VivianJungles. Instead, Hendrickson will get it
and she'll send it down where CassieHall waits for it. Paul looked on
a pass to Eden and now Curlgoing up against Reeves. Curl S geting
again. Curl fires that one's toohigh. Jungle's keeping it in the zone
and Cassie Hall gets it. NowEden trying to control it. Hendrickson in
trouble. Eden trying to get itto Curl. Reeves stops her and I'll

(01:39:08):
flick up from doing from deering toJungles, deering with pressure. Hearing does
bring that pressure, a little slapof a stick that goes to Curl and
now intercept it away by Reeves,Nelson to Jungles to Edwards. Haul can't
get it. Reeves thwarted it andNelson controlled it good size up Armstrong off

(01:39:30):
a haul off to Reeves, nowstolen away by was Nevish was Nemach trying
to get around, was never skittingin a Topson in a back and that
doesn't go and was thatmch still ableto control it while I's looking for an
opening, trying to find a passto Wheeler that doesn't connect. Reeve's trying
to get it. Puck lost.I lost it for a second and Forestburgh's
able to control it for Vimigi statethat now goes to Armstrong. She skates

(01:39:51):
in. Gott Lawski able to getit, not up a card for card,
skating on in, Picard weaving inlooking for a pass, McCard tumbling,
Wan and w Wassnevitch. She crashesinto the boards and Bamigie state with
it yet again. Davis to Nelson, back to Davis, try to get

(01:40:15):
away from Kottlowski thwarts that one.Picard able to get it, now goes
to Wheeler. Wheeler flicks it up, Wheeler weaving around Davis, Wheeler going
in, try to thread it toSims that one's no good, Sims looking
Sims back in it, passed toWheeler to Piccard, still off the sick.

(01:40:35):
Picard tries to control he can't doit, and now Sim's getting it
back, Simms stopping starting Zillish playinggreat defense, looking cross ice pass all
that was almost connected with Avia.Murphy couldn't do it, and Murphy flicks
it back around. Sims waiting forit, one battling on with it.

(01:40:56):
Zillish can't get it. Edwards can. Edward's now back to Potter. Potter
weleave again, fires to O'Brien, can't get it. Potter going back around
with a ropper around, shot outTompson fight it again. Potter tried to
get it back on her stick anddo it, and Murphy takes it back
up top Murphy to O'Brien O'Brien.Whift now goes to Potter. Potter wants

(01:41:16):
Murphy, Murphy calling for it,She gets it, fires shot backed again,
O'Brien controls it. O'Brien in troublenow finds Potter, crowd on their
feet across ize pass that doesn't connectand now stolen back away and racing to
it is Watkins Shall dump it inBamiji state makes a line change. Finally
they get it on zone. Gervaissends it around, now goes to Edwards.

(01:41:40):
Edwards can't control it, flicks backdown on the zone by fourteen and
Hendrick and Carney will race to italong with Johnson. That one was stolen
away, however by Wisconsin eating racingto it, O'Brien trying to go on
the chase and there will be astoppage of play as a save is made
by Thompson. Yeah, but Megisay it needed to get out of their

(01:42:01):
zone. Who was in there fornearly a minute and a half, two
minutes, lots of shots. Wisconsinhave forty four shots now on goal.
Yes, they scored, they havethe lead finally after two periods, but
forty three saves so far tonight forAbby Thompson, don't let one goal,
stopping from thinking she's having a goodgame. Curl won that face soft sent

(01:42:25):
it back to Hoovian Jungles, butit's immediately turned over Eden racing to it,
stopping starting. Curl gets it andnow back up to Shayla Edwards.
As she passed that one, Edenzips into the zone. Eden fired on
in a same ay by Thompson,Buck deflicted back out off her pads.
Eden tried to do a cross iizpass two defenders there for the Beavers are
there, it's Fortson and Johnson sendsit across Hedrick racing to it with Edwards

(01:42:49):
swipe at it, no good andit's going back again to Amiji's state.
Fortson sends it zipping in. Willthis be a nice thing? It will
be in a face soft coming up? About eleven fifty five left to go
in this third and final period.Casey O'Brien with the only goal here,

(01:43:09):
and it came in the first minuteof that third period. Yeah, and
on her seventh shot by the wayof the night, finally got one after
six previous attempts that didn't go.Kott Lawski fired on It's two nothing Badgers

(01:43:39):
Kerdy kot Lawski from the blue lineand they're giving pats on the head that
Thompson forget about that one onto thenext but huge goal for Wisconsin. More
than halfway to go here in thisthird period they lead by two. Now

(01:44:00):
Kittie kott Lawski with the goal. Here's was Nevitch almost had another chance for
a potential goal and may it threeon Ozho great play by hearing there Wilgrin
zips it around. Was Nevitch racingto it. Nelson tried to give chase.
She stops deering, try to getpressure off of the skate off the
stick, of Kotlowski. Officials gonnacall that. Our officials putting a hand

(01:44:24):
up. So Bimigi's ta going toget a chance. And now I'll pass
from Deering. That's stolen away byWilgrind, Wilgrin weaving in, fires shot,
save Wilgrin off. The deflection wasNevitch can't get it. Smith sends
it back, Kotlowski gets in,Levon, crowd on their feet. Here's

(01:44:44):
Wheeler, Wheeler weaving in, tryto cross ice, pass it, thwart
it away by Lundon and now Nelsonoff of zal Zillish and off of Potter's
skate, off of Potter's stick.Potter able to control it, and now
she'll skate in has Leila Edwards,Potter going round around Thompson. That one
is stopped. Edward's able to getthe rebound. Not a Kirsten Simms.

(01:45:05):
Simms made a nice little move onForsburg. Now dips it to O'Brien,
now feeding it to Edwards. Nota Murphy, Murphy to O'Brien, not
a Sims. Potter wants it,Sims looking wanted a cross pass. Can't
connect, and that one we sentback right out. Santle off of Forsburg

(01:45:28):
back at Center Ice. Bodies colliding, whistles and a stop and we will
have a penalty coming up as Simsgoing into the box and she did not
like that call, and it willbe a power play from Amigie State with
ten nineteen left to go, andhere's an opportunity now for the Beavers to
try and make this a one goalgame. Yeah, it's gonna be a

(01:45:49):
big opportunity for them to get onthe board here in the power play first
of the night for them. ButSims isn't happy with it. But a
little too aggressive there. It's abody checking penalty, just a tad bit
aggressive. But nonetheless, Beniji Statewill take it. And as you said,
huge for them. They're trying tomake it a one goal game here
with ten minutes nineteen to go herein regulation, Bmiji State has only seen

(01:46:13):
eleven shots or has only had elevenshots here in this in this whole game,
this would be huge and this wouldbe something to add to their shot
category. Here's Smith stolen away byWilgrim. She'll just send that back out
to Center Ice Sports in to Davis. Wilgrim towarts it again and she'll send

(01:46:35):
it back. This is a turningpoint here that could make or break this
game, as it is a twogoal lead for Wisconsin. Here's Nelson,
Oh Jerva coudn't save it, Daringholds it up. Now goes Todavi Davis.

(01:47:00):
Armstrong gets it. Now a slapshot good blocked by Sela Edwards tearing
try to look for something. Nelsonto Davis being pressured at by Curl Curl
bringing good pressure. Now here's Nelsongoing hard into the boards. Eden try
to steal it away. She does, and now goes to Brita Kerr or
excuse me Sheelah Edwards now to BrittaCurl Curl battling with Armstrong. That's sent

(01:47:25):
back out. Fifty seconds left onthis power play from Imiji State. Here's
a long pass to Watkins that goesto Hedrick Katlowski gonna try and steal her
lunch money. She does. Itnow goes to Jungles. Now a Wheeler
bounces it off and Matty Wheeler tryingto hustle to it before it's taken away
by Lund. Lund will send itacross. Now goes to Johnson. Johnson

(01:47:47):
dumps it in. About twenty fiveseconds left to go. On this power
play from Amiji state the Badgers havedone an incredible job of this power playing.
This pedal kill London, setting itin Wheeler, bringing pressure. Wheeler
tied up with a linesman sheet, tumbles to the ice. O'Brian able to

(01:48:08):
get it. Ten seconds left onthe power play and Kirsten Sims is gonna
come racing out of this box,and she does as it will be full
strength for the Badgers and the crowdloves it. There's Davis to Edwards,
Edwards going up to Bacard. Pcardfires on off the skate, off the

(01:48:30):
stick of Thompson. Edwards gets therebound. Not a will grind now goes
to Potter to Pacard and another shotthat is just wide off the pad and
couldn't be corralled by Edwards, wasnnevit. Tried to keep it in the
zone, can't do it. Sentback out. Had Potter races towards it,
Potter not a will grin, puckflipped up, gloves saved by Reeves,

(01:48:55):
sent back out to center ice.Zillish takes it in. Zillish has
Santle in trouble, wanted Santo nogood stolen away by Leila Edwards and how
a nice backhand. It passed liketwo barriant Pecard Pcard makes a nice little
move a card going right around Thompsonthat hit the side of the net and
Picard happen to get the rebound lookingfor a pass, finding a pass,

(01:49:16):
there's Potter, Potter stopping weaving, trying to get something, but Card gets
it back on her stick, looksfires on and a Clovese save made by
Thompson. Yeah, it didn't looklike much of a power play did it
for Bimigi State. And I knowthat offense hasn't been there strength in this
game or this season, but youexpected a little bit more and it seemed

(01:49:36):
like it was just even strength hockeyand Wisconsin with two goals Katie kott Lawski
and Casey O'Brien with a big one. We're gonna take a quick break.
This is Badger Women's Hockey presented byGoodman's Jewelers the Diamond Store of Madison,
Wisconsin to Bamiji State zero. CaseyO'Brien and Katie Cutt with the only two

(01:50:01):
goals in this game, and theyare two huge ones in the In the
mid to late stages of this thirdperiod, Noah Clark Aiden Michaels from lebon
Ice Arena. This has been afun one to call. By saw off
one by Bamigie State. Deering sendsit down, icing is called in a
face off. Coming up certainly hasbeen a fun one to call, and
it's interesting. We waited for thethird period to get our first couple of

(01:50:25):
goals, and I don't think thegoals are done here at lebon I think
that Wisconsin are going to keep pilingthings on. But the Midgie State they're
still playing well. That's not youknow, just because of the two goals
happen, it doesn't mean they're notplaying well anymore. They definitely still are.
But Wisconsin are just turning things upjust quite a bit here in this
third period. Paul lost that faceoff Deering. We'll get it. Eaden

(01:50:50):
trying to stay with it. Puckstayed in his own. Curl flipped it
up. Cassie Hall, try toget it. Here's Carter six. She
fired that one too high. Reevestries to battle with Curl. Curl is
too strong. She'll win that battleand she'll get it to Lacy Eden.
Now Hall back to Curl. Nowto Eden Edward's calling for the pass.

(01:51:11):
Can't get it, She'll show dumpit too. Curl that one didn't connect.
Reeves will get it. Now backto Jungles. Jungle sends it around.
Harvey gets it or excuse me notHarvey. Hall gets it. Hall
takes it to Curl. Curl firedon that one's off I Thompson tried to
save it. Hall gets the rebound, looking for Britter, Curl up top
that can't go. Armstrong sends itback, races to it, and now

(01:51:33):
Jungles will get it. Jungles allbounce off the board's unlucky bounce, but
able to go back into Jungles andnow goes to Hall. Hall fires on,
blocked by Reeves. Lun gets it, but Jungles is gonna get a
little bit of a piece of thatable to still control it as Lun now
sends it in and a nice littlefeed pass that can't go to Armstrong.

(01:51:53):
Icing's waved off. Armstrong able toget it, and Armstrong in trouble,
sim battling hard. Jungles gets it, Sims gets it back, and Sims
passes it to Wheeler flicks it upone and O'Brien zillish gets it now going
to Santo Santo off of Murphy offthe Santel had a safe mate of that

(01:52:15):
one was nearly off in Santo, almost put it at and it almost was
a one goal game. Five anda half minutes left to go in this
third and final period. Kelly Forsburgthought it was it. She started celebrating
for a second, put her handup, Gervai flicks it up to Murphy.
Then I caught laos Ski makes alittle move and now flicked up high

(01:52:39):
and out of play off the stickof Hendrickson, and then it's a game
of centimeters. That was It wasjust that close Frommigi State to make this
a one goal game. We'll gearit off the line by Murphy. But
just how close was that? Ohalmost a chance for Bamigie State to make

(01:53:02):
this a one goal game. Spaceoff comes up, oh whistle and stoppage
of play as Thompson gets a littlebit of snow. After that one,
Maryann Picard just stopped right in frontof her, got some snow into the
face of Thompson and Bamigi State. You could see earlier in the first three
d If something like that happened,I think they would cross check Pokard,

(01:53:23):
but they know at this stage inthe game they can't afford to take penalties
like that. It's a good disciplinethere from Bamigi State. Here's Wilgrin gets
it on that face off. WasNevitch weaving in? Was Nevitch try to
fire it on? Now? Edwardsgets it a shot on Thompson. That
was a good shot, no goodleyla Edwards gets the rebound, looking for

(01:53:44):
help, findes help, gets PicardPoocard weaving that. A Potter that goes
to Wilgrin fires up high. Thatone was deflected and up in the air.
Hendrickson gets it. Potter back uptop to the blue line. Pocard
NADAAVI. Watch Nevich holding it in. I'm looking for per car down low
in a save made by Thompson.Fifty four shots now for Wisconsin, fifty

(01:54:12):
five I should say twelve for theBeavers. We're getting to that point four
and a half minutes to go inregulation. If Emigie State wants to stay
in this game, they need toget a goal now. They need that
first one. Then they worry aboutthe second one. But they need it
very quickly. Time is running outfor them, and expect to these next
two minutes a possible empty net faceoff one. Here's Edwards fires an honest
save made by Thompson. Yeah, and it varies from team to team at

(01:54:35):
any level. When you're down twogoals, at what time do you pull
the goalie. Lots of teams decideto pull it at two minutes, even
when you're down two goals. Butit'd be interesting to see what Scanlon decides
to do with his team and winhe decides to pull Thompson. I'd assume
pretty soon your's Eden gets it onthe stick. Now pass it a curl.

(01:54:56):
Curl looking fired that one just toowide, was looking for Hall.
Edward gets it back. Edwards firedit on at a save made by Thompson.
Buck is still loose, but theyfinally blow it dead and another face
off coming up. Crow didn't likethat one that was still up there.
Yeah, it's still off for playoff the pad and then into the glove.

(01:55:16):
Referee blew the whistle and then itwas spilled by Thompson, but the
whistle had already gone. Fans didn'tlike it, but it is what it
is. Face off now to theleft of Abby Thompson. Carneta win with
curl face off one by curl. Here's Eden fires a shot. That one's
no good. He didn't able toget her own rebound and sends it around

(01:55:40):
to curl out of Wilgrin up top, Wilgrin down. The curl with this
sco. I believe it was prettycol and it's three nothing Badgers. There's
another captain. Curl gets her seventh. They may take a look at this.

(01:56:00):
I thought it went off her skate. I did too, Noah,
I did too. It did looklike what question is was it a distinct
kicking motion or did it even gooff the skate. There's a few things
to consider. It doesn't look likethey're gonna review this any further, not
at all. Wow, We're gonnacurl with a big goal and it's dream

(01:56:24):
nothing Wheeler. It's that one stolenaway by Davis. She'll send it into
the Badger zone. Potter waiting forit. Potter to sims and now body's
colliding and now here comes Nelson racingaway with a puck. Nelson looking for

(01:56:45):
a shot on Gervai, and shesaves that one. Wilgrin weaving in,
Wilgrin tumbling now goes to Wheeler.Nice thread to Kirsten Simms. Sims trying
to get around, can't do itnow pasta a briant flicked out of the
air. Still lose words. Igonna go. It is finally saved by
Thompson. Great save from me,Thompson, and what a pass from Kirsten

(01:57:10):
Simms as well. That was specialAnd Thompson made the initial save. It
was up in the air. Shedidn't know where it was. She nearly
backed into it and put it intoown net and her defenseman, I'm not
sure who was there. Are acouple bodies on the line that helped that
from going into the net. Butwhat a chance for Wisconsin. Nothing there
and at this point you pulled agoalie your state. We'll see it's a

(01:57:31):
possibility. Edwards to Edwards, LaylaEdwards back? Can it pass to Navitch?
Oh almost did a sick move thereand Thompson denies it Wasnavitch to Picard.
Picard zips it around. Was Navitchwaiting for it? Puck flicked up
in the air and Zilish gets it. Santo tried to clear it, but

(01:57:54):
not before Vivian Jungles is there forit. Here's Wasnavitch? Not a pericard
shot it and a save made byThompson and a little bit of a whiff
on that shot didn't really have enoughvelocity in speed. Yeah, she knew
it, and you could see, well you can't see, but we see
that she just smacked her stick onthe ground and as soon as that puck

(01:58:15):
went into the glove of Thompson, she just put her helmet in her hands.
Not happy with that. It's threezero, two minutes, forty four
to go. I think she'll beokay, but definitely not happy with that
one. Wisconsin's sixty two shots ongoal to BMIJI State's thirteen three zero.
Badgers icing waved off. Hendrickson racedon down Eden in trouble. Our backhanded

(01:58:43):
pass from Watkins, Curl trying tofind it, does find it and how
goes to Lacy. Eden can't keepit in the zone. Was dering.
Here's Curl looked it down in hedidn't lost her stick. She thought she
wanted a penalty. Reps say noplay on. Here comes Hendrick, Hendrickson
fires, Gervas sends it with astick up high and out of play with

(01:59:04):
two minutes left, and this isnow an opportunity for Amigie State. As
this puck is down in the Wisconsinzone, we could see a potential extra
skater coming up here. I wasjust thinking, I was just about to
say, I think Thompson's probably gonnapark herself in the crease for the rest
of the night. But we'll see. I think if Amidgie Take can win

(01:59:24):
this face off, perhaps we willsee the extra skater come on. But
they've lost it. Face off oneWilgrin tumbling to the ice, Gorba Tanko
bodies colliding. Here's Davis just firedit on. No good O'Brien able to
get it now back to Potter andPotter off of Kirsten Sims. That one
goes between both legs, travels alldown the way to the Emitji State zone.

(01:59:47):
Davis gets it stolen away by Gorbatenk going now, Kirsten Simms racing
in Sims, battling tough. Greatdefensive play by Davis and O'Brien. Obrien,
alright, I took a huge shot. Penalty coming up. Yeah,
clear penalty and Bamigie State going intothe box. And so with that Themiji

(02:00:12):
State gonna be down to skate ofthe rest of the game. We're gonna
take quick ten seconds for station identification. This is Badger Women's Hockey presented by
Goodman's Jewelers. We are Wisconsin wtsMatterson ten seventy the game an iHeartRadio station
power play coming up for the Badgers. Bamigie State might be down. The

(02:00:34):
last minute thirty of this game basedoff one by Wisconsin. Jungles get to
the Wilgrin, Wilgrin waiting looking nowfires now pass to Matty Wheeler, Wilgrin
back to Wheeler, Wheeler skating aroundwanted Edwards off of Edwards skate or stick,
and it goes back down and Wisconsinwill control it. John Lewis holds

(02:01:00):
it a minute left. You gottagive credit to Bamigi's State. They put
up quite a fight. Wisconsin ableto come with some big goals. Jerry
flicks it up a minute left togo in this third and final period and
the scoring finally broke through. Wilgridonto a Wheeler, not a Halsey scores.

(02:01:21):
Cassie Hall put it up for thekiddies. Can't get it and it's
a power play goal for Wisconsin. And that's more like it on the power
play Cassie Hall back on the score. She'd make it six for her on
the season. Impressive season so farfrom the freshman, and I think the

(02:01:42):
game is all but put to bedhere in Madison. I'd say Maddy Wheeler
getting that assist and an impressive passing, an even better goal from Cassie Hall.
My goodness, Zilla to take thisface off with Picard and she'll win

(02:02:04):
that. I gets it. Itwas Nevitch at a jungle Scorbatenko takes it,
skates on end fires that one's offthe glove of Thompson. I goes
to Edwards, Edwards just holding ontoit. Thirty seconds left in the period
and Wisconsin looking to go to sevenand zero on the season. Picard holds

(02:02:29):
it out, being pressured by byZillish. Now the Wasnvitch that will be
sent down. Bryland whiffed on it. Now starts her run. Now deflected,
now goes back to fortsn body's tumblingwas Nevitch falling down Santle Five seconds
left and the Badgers with a grittywin. What more you to say?

(02:02:58):
Gritty but now pretty? It wasfor nothing here and the Badgers go to
seven and zero on this season againstthe Beavers with a win against Mamiji State.
Yeah. Sixty four shots, fourgoals, another shutout, three shoutouts
in a roper Wisconsin. It's backto back shutouts for Jane Gervai. What

(02:03:19):
a performance. What a performance.Indeed, Casey O'Brien and Katie Kotlowski got
goals. Britta Curl and Cassie Hallwith the other two to close it out.
When we come back, we're gonnahave the Badger Women's Hockey intermission for
the final time. Final score Wisconsinfor the Meiji State zero. Don't go

(02:03:42):
anywhere, will be right back. This is Badger Women's Hockey presented by Goodman's
Jewelers the Diamond Store of Madison. When the Badgers win again, they start
the season off seven and zero nowand to maintain their number one ranking in
the nation, they win for nothingagainst Bmigi State on this Friday night.

(02:04:05):
I mean nothing in the first twoperiods zero zero, lots of shots,
though nothing fell in the back ofthe end until the third period where Wisconsin
just peppered it on Abby Thompson andBmigie State. Four nothing. Three straight
shutouts for Wisconsin and two straight forJaningervy. I mean What did you see
in this game, at least inthis third period. What did you see?

(02:04:26):
Yeah, I mean in this thirdperiod, it was it was quite
impressive from what we saw from Wisconsin. It started literally in the first minute.
Jan Gervay saw some action pretty quickly, and then it turned into it
turned into a track meet down onthe other side, and in case you
O'Brien finally named that one. Imean, the energy it seemed like in
that third and final period finally kickedin and Wisconsin started to play Wisconsin hockey

(02:04:50):
again. They started to have alittle bit more chemistry, a little bit
more flow in that third and finalperiod. I mean, really impressive stuff.
This was a This was a gritty, not pretty win for Wisconsin.
They got it done, and theygot it done in the best of ways
with their with their with their bestskater, one of their best skaters,
Casey O'Brien, netting the first goaland breaking the damn for the Beavers.

(02:05:14):
Yeah, and the sloppiness really disappearedin that third period ultimately en route to
the Badgers win. And it's abig one for them, and we'll see
how they bear in tomorrow's game. It'll be at two pm. Here at
Lebon, but a big one andsome good performances all around. Caroline Harvey
did leave with an injury. Noupdates on that yet, but stay tuned

(02:05:35):
for that. But a big winfor Wisconsin seven and oh now for the
seven time champions. I want tothank everyone for tuning in to tonight's broadcast.
A big one, eight and Michaelsand Noah Clark on Fox Sports ten
to seventy the game. Wisconsin winit for nothing here at Lebon. This
is Badger women Hockey presented by Goodman'sJewelers, the Diamond Store of Madison
