Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yesterday. On the basketball side.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Of things, we of course consume March madness like nobody else,
and both local teams surviving and advancing in the conference tournaments.
We'll dive back into that coming up here shortly. But
also a big day in the state as President Donald Trump,
he made his way to northern Kentucky, where he spoke
about a lot of things and also made it clear
he's a big fan of Kentucky and he also reminded Kentucky.

(00:58):
If they didn't know that the state is a big
fan of him when it comes to uh, you know,
the support that he has seen in both of his
presidential runnings. And again here's President Trump yesterday discussing his
love for the state of Kentucky, and I guess also
his love for saying the word Kentucky. Be great if

(01:22):
that play, I don't know why it's not. It's not
coming through. Don't you hate when that happens.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
I promise he did show up yesterday. You can't confirm, right, John,
he was.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Question during off the air, and I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I was gonna say, I know you had one.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
But hey, if we get, if we if we really
want to entertain, maybe that's the way to go. But
let's see if this this works now again, still nothing,
not sure why that. I think I know why. I
don't really know what to do about it. But here
we go, John, pull up your pull up your Twitter,
and you will have the clip to play in your
inbox real quick, because yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I hate when that happens. And I think I know
what I did.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
And now here I am some live audio engineering on
our big board. Here that looks like a spaceship. And
what I thought would fix it is not.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Its a lot of moving parts to the mothership on
eight forty.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, and here's the mothership is powerful.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Here's here's Donald Trump. Hello Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I love Kentucky.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I love Kentucky. We won in a landslide. We won
by selm.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
We have the all time record in these states.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
But it's great to be back in this beautiful commonwealth
with so many proud, hardworking, unbelievable American patriots. True.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
And we're here today.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
With the men and women of a phenomenal company that
has been helping Kentucky grow and prosper for six incredible decades.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
In other words, they've been here for a long time.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Versed logistics, vers legendcy good company. There's been a lot
of the people that run at They're good people.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
They love you.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
They love you.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Actually, if they didn't, that wouldn't be here.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Probably, I don't.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Think I EVI they you.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
I'd walk off this stage right With your help, this
family owned business has risen from a small class.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
So from from there. Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
There was a lot of other things discussed, including him
claiming that we've won the war and uh, not really sure.
I mean, again, I have an idea. I think we
all have an idea of sort of what he's referencing
as far as just what is being done each and
every day and and essentially making this threat that has
been around for a long long time less of a threat.

(03:41):
That's that's the progress. That's I guess leading you up
to what would be in his words of victory. But
I think for Americans to feel like we've won and
it's over, it needs to be.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
It needs to be over.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
And what I've really struggled with is just what is
going to be the ultimate realization as far as substance
or as far as just some specific direct sign that Okay, yep,
it's all over. We don't have to worry about that
threat ever again after so many years, because this happened
or that happened. But again I'm not involved in it.

(04:11):
I'm sure clearly there's a lot more to it than
I would ever know. But yeah, right now you have
a total of I believe it's seven that have lost
their lives, and of course there's still many that are injured,
and I just I'm probably not telling you anything you
don't already know, but if you are someone that knows
someone and I think even just knowing that one of

(04:31):
the more recent casualties is somebody that's from just south
of Louisville and in our listening audience, our area right
there in Hardin County, to know that that young man
is one that did die, I just think that that'll
sort of, without even your control, change how you view
the overall war here that is going on. And the
question that a lot of folks have asked is this

(04:52):
is this needed? You know, this was this worth it?
And that's you know, unfortunately there's been war that that
were worth it. Clearly that that that needed to happen.
I mean, that's that's that's life. But even in those instances,
that question probably is still asked, and maybe they already
have the answer to those asking it if it includes

(05:15):
someone they love losing their life. All right, Snows Radio
at forty whas we've got a couple more basketball games today,
as both Louisville and Kentucky have survived and advanced in
conference tournament play. Was Kentucky at first that got off
to a The beginning of that game against LSU yesterday
was really really fast, high scoring. I mean it was

(05:36):
entertaining just to watch as a casual observer, and then
sure enough, in the second half, Kentucky created a little
bit of separation. LSHO hung around like they like they
have done against a lot of the SEC teams this year.
But in the end Kentucky had just enough to get
him over the hump. Big day from Brandon Garrison, I think,
just shy of his career high, but you know, he's

(05:57):
he's somebody that's probably been one of their more inconsistent players.
But when you see him do something like knock down
a couple of threes with confidence, throw down a big dunk,
shoot a passing lane, run the floor like a gazelle,
I mean, you see why he was a McDonald's All American.
He's got a bowload of talent. He just is at
times been inconsistent. And if he starts playing like that

(06:20):
consistently again easier Seve than done, I mean that changes
things for Kentucky. I mean, I think that's a difference
maker for them, if that becomes the new norm. Tough
to expect that given that it was a rare situation,
but you know, I guess what I'm getting at is
if he does start to put it together and can
be consistent. I mean, it won't be a surprise when
it comes to his ability, because he certainly has that.

(06:42):
But for Kentucky, I think it's the trio. It's Aberdeen,
Chandler and Oay. If those three guys are playing well
and they're all aggressive, good things are going to happen
for Kentucky. And what I mean is that even if
they're missing shots, if those three guys are consistently in
attack mode, attacking the rim, which leads to them to
get to the free throw line, which then leads to

(07:02):
getting in rhythm threes, that's when Kentucky is at their best.
And they've certainly showed at times this year. They can
lose to a lot of teams. They can lose to
bad teams, but they've also shown that they've got the
ability to play well and play with anybody. And I
know Kentucky won't have the seed that their fans expect,
because expectations are really really high at Kentucky always, but

(07:24):
this is a weird year for them to where you're
not surprised because you know you've seen this team right
when they have this, they may have a dud game today,
who knows, and it would be disappointing, But like I
don't know if their fans would be surprised, But you
also are going to be surprised if they mess around
and win more games here than expected, because again, they've
shown at times they can do that. Now, for Louisville,

(07:45):
they found themselves in a game where they just couldn't
they couldn't make a basket. But it was a rare situation,
but a good situation in my opinion, because I think
at times this year, if you've watched Louisville even a
little bit, you know they rely on the three point
shot heavily, and I think at times it's almost just
been too much of their identity to wear. Hey, doesn't
matter what the game is, that where the game is,

(08:08):
as far as situationally, doesn't matter who's on the floor.
If I've got daylight, I've got the green light to
fire it up. And sometimes they just shoot themselves out
of games. So sometimes they find themselves not being able
to make shots, they're not taking good ones in good rhythm,
and then the opponent is playing at Louisville's pace and
they make shots and then you're just you're kind of
screwed well yesterday. I thought one area where they grew

(08:31):
is that shots were not falling early. They were getting
really good looks, I mean looks that you want this
team to take every time because of how they're built.
They just couldn't get them the fall. But they didn't
let that impact their defense, and that was nice to
see because I think that's been a problem this year
when shots aren't falling, they then slip on the other end,
and that's just a terrible recipe. So they hung in defensively,
and then in the second half as Simu went on

(08:53):
a run and I felt like, well, we've seen this
movie before, Louisville. They've now dug themselves a seven point
hole and they don't get stops consistently to climb out
of it. But then they did, and it was a
nice run from Zugris who scored six straight points for
Louisville to really get it within reach. And then it
was Ryan Conwell, who, poor guy, could not buy a bucket.

(09:14):
He had at one point in all three games combined
to you know that one hadn't ended yet. Yesterday he
was four of thirty from three against SMU.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Good Night. That's a that's a tough stretch.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
So he then finally gets one to fall to put
him over the hump, and then he has a bucket
late that really sealed it. But Zugris, let's hear a
little bit of his press conference yesterday after the game,
because obviously he was. You know, his stat line wasn't
gaudy by any means, but more production than you can
than you typically see. And clearly if you watch the
final the final bit of that game, I mean he was.

(09:46):
He was a big factor in how they were able
to pull it out.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You about why you got these starts and how have
you played so well on this bigest stage.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
You can call him Clark Kent too if you wanted to.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
I don't have my glasses on right out.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Well, first of all, I want to give all glody
to God. As far as why I'm starting, that's a
question for Pik and I'm just doing what I have
to do. You know, it's been a long season for me,
ups and downs, but it's been a long season for
all of us as well, just being there every day,
same attitudes and mentality. I'll try to keep showing up

(10:23):
every day, and that's what I did. I think it's
paying off right now, and it's just you know, it's
just one game doing this is what we got to
remember all the time. Celebration stop after we leave this
building and get ready for the next game tomorrow against
a really good team. Something we will without.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
SI's not ready yet.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
You know, we'll put that work every day.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
I feel like Zoo put in so much work and
I just want him to go out there and kill
each and every time he's on the court. And I
just I just love how he's energetic. He's energetic throughout
everything he went through this year. So it's just you know,
it's in him and I feel like he can do
it each and every time you step on the court.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Yeah, I mean, Zoo just never got discouraged. You know.
PK or Zoo kind of touched on a little bit ago.
He beginning of the season, he didn't get the minutes
he thought he deserved or he wanted, and he just
continued to work. I saw every time, like I walk
in the gym for waits in the morning, this dude's
in the gym shooting like hardest worker I've ever seen.
And he deserves everything that he's getting right now. He's
going to continue to help us win. He's going to
continue to bring energy, put a smile on his face

(11:22):
every day. He puts a smile on my face being
around him. So I'm super happy he's on my team.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
So there you go.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Energy and effort.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
That's what really put him over the top yesterday, and
they're going to need it again today. Quick time out,
stick around, it's news ready week forty whas all right,
just a few minutes left here before we hand it
off to Tony and Dwight.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
But I was looking at this updated list.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
We have a new list for the top ten destinations
for spring break this year, and the list here is
mostly just these big extravagant cities like Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale,
all that kind of stuff, Orlando. But when I think
spring break, I think around here. I think people going
to Destin Destin, Florida. That is is our family vacation.
But I can tell you anybody who tells you, well, hey,

(12:04):
there's a lot of Louisville people there, they're not exaggerating.
I've now known for years now. So when do we
know that this became a thing where Deston just became
the place where so many people in Louisville and in
Oldham County. That's just where they go for spring break,
for vacation. Because I didn't realize it, but in the
Urban Dictionary they actually referred to.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Deston as Little Louisville.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
It's strange. Twenty years ago there was nothing there. There
was three condos and two restaurants. It's blown up since then.
So the last twenty years, you know, Florida, you got
some space, they'll build something. I don't know why and
how that became Louisville's destination, but I do remember it
came to a head about seven eight years ago. The

(12:46):
sheriff at the press conference because something had happened. There
was a huge high school fight around a pool or
something that spring break. And yeah, right, so he he
looks into he looks out to the crowd of the reporters.
He goes, I want to speak to everyone from Louisville, Kentucky.
The citizens of Louisville. Stay home. We don't want you here.
This is not your beach. So you know, again it

(13:09):
didn't work because people still go down there. And then
they built that. Of course, the fancy people go to
A one A, the condos that look like you know
you're in the Bahamas, and of course you're you know,
you're somebody if you get in there on that spot.
But I don't know, man, because my family's from Key West,
we don't like, we don't go to the Panhandle.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
You gotta go down south.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Yeah, I will say the spring break probably led to Hey, Panama,
Seaton tat into crowded destins, not too far. Let's just
set up shop there and then we I guess some
Louisville area people kind of took over. But any place
we go, the resort, the restaurant, wherever it is, it
is not an exaggeration that there is always at least
some legitimate presence of people from Louisville.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
And I just assume, well that's not true. It can't
be the case.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
But even on the way down there, when you're going,
you see cars that Jefferson County license plates a fancier.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Than Panama City, like a Panama City.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
You get, you throw up, you get a belly button
ring for the girls, and the guy gets a stupid tattoo.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Fair phoel Panama City, Dixie Highway with the beach.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Oh absolutely, okay, that's a fact, and I mean that
I mean that in a complimentary way.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Club Lavella or whatever it's.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Called, City spring Break don't remember much of that bar
On on Dixie Highway work like hell.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
It sounds like sounds awesome, actually, actually it does. All right, Tony,
do I have to go on your way?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
