As though we had a plenty of tornado warnings within
the region here, we do have one confirmed tornado that
came down in Henryville in southern Indiana, the second one
in a week that has hit our friends of the north. However,
does not sound like there's been any severe damage just yet.
So right now, as of five oh six, it sounds
as if our fears are just floods and flash flooding,
(00:43):
those kind of things. As far as thunderstorms, tornado activity,
that kind of stuff, that's that's not believed to be
any kind of real threat. But obviously a lot of
rain has come down, we could have more coming in.
It sounds like that's the expectations, so be prepared. Do
you want to let you know once again, don't drive
into flooded people still seem to do that, so worth reminding.

But yeah, this morning I could tell as I made
my way in we'd gotten a lot of rain, but
over all the storms.

You guys of course, well John is near me, and
Scott you're you're more so you are in the Metro.
Any storm sirens coming. I feel like the Metro for
the most part was pretty much unscathed compared to our
friends of the north.

Yeah, I think so. I mean I slept through it.
I didn't get the same here.

Yeah, I knew when i'd come downstairs with my wife
leaves the light on downstairs, that she's been up because
of the storms. And then I saw the lens alerts
come through on my phone overnight. I did not hear
a thing last night, but it does sound pretty significant
as far as the storm damage.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Like you said, that's all we need is more flooding
around here now.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, And and just some of the pictures that are
partners at wk Y have shown this morning, as you
can tell that that there are some areas that that
got quite a bit of rain and We've had plenty
in the last week. So if you're worried about the
basement flooding, totally get it.

And again, I think when you consider we had a
rather dry weekend, almost the humidity was like the rain
was on its way, and we certainly got dumped on
last night. But if you if you consider what's come
down in the last i don't know, twelve hours or
so compared to what you know, along with what we
had last week. I mean, we were talking about how
dry it was right the lake. Everybody wanted to go

to lake and there was no water. I don't know
if they're having that same problem right now.

I was gonna say, if you're if you're looking ahead
to the fourth of July holiday and you're a fan
of pool weather, very hot weather we're looking at we
could see tempts in the mid upper nineties by the
time we get to fourth of July week. Yeah, I'm right,
good news, isn't it. It'll feel like July will put
it down here.

I don't know if I'm if I'm getting softer or what.
But yesterday we were at at Churchill Down celebrating Father's Day,
and the temperature really wasn't bad, but it felt brutal.

It was just a gross.

Humidity that you know, nobody seems to like. I know
I certainly don't like it. And same thing even on Saturday,
temperatures never really got crazy. But it's the nice reminder
that you get that it really it just comes down
to air quality and humidity.

I don't know if I can gauge it on, you know,
on any kind of data to fully tell me just
how human it is.

I think I'm now going to only pay attention to

I'm thinking, oh, this would be great.

Yeah, and it's it's totally misleading if in fact we've
got bad humidity.

Right, I watch your humidity. That's that's all it is,
and that's going to be the key. So if you're
a fan of the hot weather, I know a lot
of people like it when he gets really hot like
that because.

That makes good pool days.

We'll see what that shows up, and then the precipitation,
hopefully we'll tailor off and some folks can recover from
some of this flood damage.

definitely enjoyed my my week nearly week long of sleeping
and that was definitely blood.

his alarm clock wasn't going to go off right.

enough of that to where it was like briefly starting
to adjust your schedule and you were thinking like, man,
I don't know, maybe I should abandoned these clowns in
the morning and go work with Terry Miners.

I don't know if it's because you just enjoyed working
with Terry Moore or maybe it's just because you got
more sleep. Sleep securities are really showing this morning on
a Monday, we lose John Alden.

For four days last week, came back. You're back. Let it.

You let what they say about letting somebody lose that
they come back. You know, it's true love or something
like that.

Yeah, But like I also know that you know, you
didn't really have a choice. That's true that, So I'll
just I'll just believe that it was your decision and
you and you wanted to come back to us because
we certainly missed you and we were glad to have
you back. But look, we're very real and transparent with
each other here. I know, uh, the alarm clock going
off this morning, and you were getting your getting your
getting your day, started to get out the door and

come to us. There probably was a little bit of
oh man, here we go again. You got a nice break, right,
do what you got a nice break? Oh?

I was definitely adjusted to waking up at a later
time in the morning. But the first day back is
always fine, But it's as you get into the middle
of the week where you start to feel that sleep fatigue.

So we are entering week four here of the I
sixty five shutdown, and I think overall, is it safe
to say, guys that this has been really smooth, all
things considered. I mean outside of the can opener, which
we're actually making progress there. I mean, I think we're
off to We're nearly halfway there, and it sounds like
they are on schedule. And I think the concern about

potential nightmare scenarios, I think we're justified and understandable because
this is not normal. But here we are three weeks
in and it seems like just about everybody has has
gotten acclimated. You know, I was out yesterday near the
area that I'm now having to drive each morning to
get here, and I feel like I know these roads
like the back of my hand. I can get you know,
I can't tell you the some of these streets, but

I know how to get around. And it's just it's
everybody figuring out what makes the most sense for them,
and I don't know who we applaud. I guess everybody
collectively can pat themselves on the back, because again, I think,
considering the potential of disaster, just when you consider what
we were doing here, shutting down a major interstate for
the first time really ever, when it comes to just
completely shut down for miles, no lanes open north or south,

but overall it's been pretty smooth, but again that could
change it any time. So we will keep you up
to date this morning on what you need to know
as far as traffic. With the roads being the way
they are, wet and more rain potentially coming down, there
could be some ponding in certain areas, so you've got
to be careful when it comes to that. And if
you are just now joining us, that is the real worry.

It's just the flash flood mornings that are in effect
this morning and most of the area really we're talking
in southern Indiana into most of the counties here on
the Kentucky side, So we'll keep you up to date
on that, and of course we'll lean on our partners
pretty heavily this morning. That's what we do when it
comes to these weather situations. They've got the they've got
the duo work in this morning. Mister Fitzgerd, how about Mylosa,
how about that tall drink of water back from vacation

looking like a star. And then also Susan Horgan with
us as well. So again we'll keep you updated and
let you know what you need to know. I will
let you know if you did not know what a
weekend we had. In fact, we have as we speak,
a fire in New Albany that LKY is live now tracking.
It sounds like that happened within the last couple of hours.
We'll give you the details. I don't want to misspeak,
but I did see they had they had Sam Carter

alive there covering and and it did not look like
a did not look like a fun situation there by
any means. And we got to talk once again about
something we've talked about quite a bit, and that is
what goes on in the Highlands over the weekends, because
you now have a similar situation where fights break out
in the streets and it's really just the same thing
you typically see, right like the videos that surface on

Facebook and Instagram that everybody shares where you got crowds
of people, hundreds of people seemingly just in the middle
of the street. Then you got to fight, you got
a bunch of police presents. So it's not the only
thing different. Now, how was that two people got shot?
So I'd say that's the sign that they're still doing
what they're supposed to do, meaning this task force. But
the one component that makes this better is people behaving responsibly,

and that doesn't seem to be changing at all. And
I'm not really sure what you do about that. I
wish I could give you the solution. I don't have it.
But this changes, meaning well, we're not coming in every
week after every weekend talking about the shenanigans in the Highlands,
people getting shot, roads getting shut down, a bunch of
people getting arrested. The only way that actually changes is
if people start behaving, and there's no sign that that's

going to start anytime soon. Also, overnight, three people shot
in the in the Butchertown area. Will give you the
details that happened around two am last night. It sounds
like there was an Airbnb party going on and at
some point shots broke out. Three people shot. It doesn't
sound like those are life threatening injuries at this point.
But man, we had ourselves a weekend and we're coming off.
We're coming in this morning after a pretty wild night,

crazy weather north of US, a tornado hitting Henryville, which
is not that far from where we are, and of
course people getting shot. So just just another just another
Monday morning. Right week started. We got sports though.

And I love that we now have many calling the
the World Cup that we're hosting here, with so many
people from across the globe visiting, we're calling it the
Great American sleep Over. And I think that's the best
way to describe it. And I cannot and I've said
it every week. I cannot get enough of seeing people
from other countries here in America enjoying our culture, having

a good time, and then seeing the rest of America
join in with them and realize, hey, you know, we
may not even speak the same language, but we got
we got something in common. We like to have a
good time. We're just gonna enjoy each other's vibes. It's
everywhere and it's amazing. And I don't know if we
knew we needed this. I mean, I can't speak anybody
but myself, but like I needed to feel good about America,

and I feel really good about America right now with
how one how well we're doing in soccer. Also, just
like you never know what it'll do for you when
somebody gases you up a little bit. And when I
see all these people from other countries just wanting to
be like, America is awesome to use. They got free
refills at restaurants. Well, and you guys heard about they
got this thing called ranch dressing. You're right, We're fat

are the We are the king of ranch dressing, and
we own it.

What's happened too, is now it's starting the you know,
because the people are coming over from Europe and they're
not tipping because that's not customary. So now it's starting
a movement where Europeans are telling restaurants start paying your people.

Yeah, start paying them, and it's it's pushing on.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
That's a higher That's an interesting conversation that I want
to have a little later because I have seen what
you said. But also the people who are documenting their trip.
But it's more so they're like they're they're they're wanting
to send it. They probably have most of their followers
from the country they're from, right, so they're kind of
documenting it, giving it first hand perspective, and they're saying, well, look,
you don't have to tip, And I'm thinking, well, actually

it's an unwritten rule, like you don't have to necessarily,
but come on, like I think if you to not
tip somebody under any at all, like there's got to
be some pretty crazy circumstances that led to that.

But what you said is would.

Would would you have as many people wanting to work
in that industry as far as bartenders and servers if
there was not tips and they only made hourly rates.
I think as much as you know, it's easy to
point at the restaurants and say, why don't you pay
them more? I think a lot of the people who
do the bartending in the serving. They're able to make
a good enough living doing that because the tips and

how it works. So maybe we'll revisit that because I'm
sure there's plenty of people that listen that would love
to chime in and share some thoughts on that. So
again we are loaded this morning on a Monday. We'll
get you caught up right here, right now on what's
going on with the traffic. Obviously a lot of rain
has come down over the night overnight, which means we
could have some flooded roadways, so be advised, and we
will give you the latest as much as it's harder
than ever to keep up with what's actually going on.

But the deal with Iran, they've threatened to close down
the Straight of Horn meuse, we then claimed that that
was a lie, that they didn't actually shut it down,
and then you've got Trump probably with maybe as big
as threat to Iran since this whole thing started. That
happened yesterday on Father's Day. So we'll get the latest
there and a lot more stick with us right here

it's probably just because you were a little bit more sane,

total sense. But you seem recharged and happy to be
back with us, and we're happy, happy to have you.

It was my first, or I say first, It felt
like the first Father's Day, even though we you know,
I had Daisy at this point last year, but now
she's a year.

Older, and oh that last year's got to just be
a blur. That's my god, still so new.

It was within that first couple of months. That newborn
phase is such a blur in general, probably for everybody,
I would imagine. And so to have a whole year
under the belt and have a you know, a good
Father's day yesterday with especially we spent the entire day
with the in laws, spent a good amount of time
in their Southern comfort hot tub. It was it was fantasy,
was the white witning in there with you. It wouldn't
have surprised me if he was watching us.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
I thought, so, you got a Southern covered hot tub
that it just comes with d white witting on demand
in a speedo.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
No, thankfully, Father's Day. Thankfully that is not the case.
Did you enjoy your Father's I.

Did, And I tell you what, It's actually becoming one
of my favorite days of the year.

And I mean that.

Because it just feels like, you know, not necessarily that
all attention is on me. But my kids just seemed
at this age, my kids seem to actually enjoy that
it's my day and they want to they want to
just you know, hug on me and love on me.
I'm sure a lot of that comes with the the
the encouragement from their mom. But no, yesterday was great,

and uh, nothing better, nothing better than being a dad.

I told my son Friday, like, hey, you know Father's
Day is coming up, and he goes, yep, that means
Sunday you got to play with me all day. And
I'm like, well kind of, but like, you know, maybe
what if I would if I don't, And look, if
you are a dad that does like to have a
day that is just your day, like that's how you
want to celebrate Father's Day.

Maybe I'll be there at some point. But if I
was given like, hey, you go have a day, it's
for you, just go do something else, I don't think
I wouldn't be able to enjoy it because I feel
like it's natural still for me. And I'm not a
new father by any means. My daughter's ten, my son's
six now, so this isn't something that's brand new. But
I'm happy to know that it's still natural for me
to want to be with my kids on Father's Day,

which I'm sure there'll be years where maybe that's not
the case. Or actually, probably more than anything, they're not
gonna be near me, right, They're gonna become too cool
for me. Hadn't happened just yet, though, so I'll uh,
I'll still hold on and enjoy. But yeah, Happy Father's
Day to everybody out there, if you if you celebrated yesterday,
which hopefully you were able to. I know, Uh, Churchill
Downs was packed and we drove by some restaurants and

they were packed. So good to see the dad's getting
that love. All right, Let's get to the latest as
far as just what we have going on here with
our peace deal that really is uh is I mean,
let's be honest, is it? Is it even real? Like?
I mean, we know there's framework, that's what they keep
labeling it as, but it doesn't mean anything because nobody's

really following what they're supposed to do and it's mostly
I mean, obviously what we have now is Trump at
least for the first time, as far as being this
direct and letting people know that like if they don't
follow through with what they're supposed to do, like, there's
gonna be sane consequences. And I guess he's kind of
said as much throughout, but it does seem as if
he's now to the point where, Okay, look, they're either

going to play ball or they're not, and we're going
to have to handle this a different way. Here's the latest,
and this is coming from.

Overnight negotiations went well into the night in Switzerland where
Vice President JD. Van Say is leading the US delegation
in talks with Iran.

What the President has asked us to do is turn

So I mean, I don't see a scenario where you
don't end up having to do exactly that obliterate them if,
of course, you're going to keep pushing it, because they
are toying with America at this point. They're not playing ball,

they're supposed to be doing. And this notion that they're
going to automatically start being easy to work with, that's

not realistic. It never was going to be realistic. So
I think as much as much as it's in recent
weeks kind of just been really the same thing.

You hear that things look encouraging, you hear that we won,
You hear that essentially it's done and they just got
to put ink to paper essentially, but that it never
goes according to plan and that never is sustained just
because they're not doing their end. And anybody thinking that
they're just going to wake up one day and start
to play ball and do their part. That's that's delusion,

is what that is. All right, trafficking weather updates are
coming your way. What I do want to get to
coming up here on the other side, we had a
fire overnight in fact, it was more so earlier this
morning at the New Albany Country Club. We've got our
partners at wk WHY covering that right now. And again
the scene this morning as we started the show, very
very serious looking as far as just the severe already

of this fire. But we'll get the details to you
coming up here on the other side. Stick around. So
we got the morning started fresh off of a tornado
that did touchdown just north of us in Henryville, Indianna,
and no real crazy damage, but they did confirm it
was a tornado, and we've had tornado warnings that were
in effect overnight, but we have moved past that as
of five point forty seven this morning. Our concerns now
(19:22):
is rain and of course floods that can come from that,
so we'll keep you up to date throughout the morning.
But also a wild situation here in southern Indiana at
the New Albany Golf Course where there was a fire overnight.
I believe earlier I said New Albany country Club, I
don't believe that's I don't even know that exists. I
might have just made up a place, but it was
the New Albany Golf Course that again just in the

last few hours here was on fire and it looks scary. However,
it looks like now they have put that fire out
and WKY Sam Carter with our partners at OKHY was
there on the scene and here is the latest on
that situation in New Albany.
Speaker 8 (19:59):
Well, right now we're seeing a building left in tatters
Ladies right off of Great Brooklaim as you say, at
New Albany Country Club. Now we do know a little
bit about this. We know that crews were called out
here in New Albany around eleven o'clock for heavy smoke.
Now they did make entrance to the building, but because
of high heat and heavy smoke, had to be pulled out.
Now we have video of flame showing from the building
(20:21):
and as you can see, the building in a kind
of dilapidated state at the moment. This is that video
of those flames showing from the building as that weather
deteriorated this evening overnight. Now we don't know a ton
about what happened here. The Indiana State Fire Marshall is
on the ground currently investigating, and they don't want to
commit to any cause whatsoever. But it was pretty terrible
(20:43):
weather here overnight and the investigation is underway. Now. If
you want to take a look up here, you can
see just where that kind of fire ripped through this building.
Still a lot to uncovered, but the good news here
is I was told by a battalion chief no firefighters
or people were injured while fighting this fire. We're gonna
get more information as it becomes available, but until then,

So again nobody injured, which is great, And of course
a lot of what you heard Sam describing there was
him telling you to look at what he was showing you.
And this is radio so you can't see, but I
can tell you firsthand. It doesn't look as if that
that there's It doesn't look like there's gonna be I
wouldn't say a whole lot left. Obviously it didn't burn
to the ground, but some severe damage seemingly still very
dark outside. And also the heavy rain that has come down,

and some of the video they were showing you could
tell as the fire was burning there was a lot
of rain coming down. So again it is the New
Albany country Club, and I would imagine that could put
could put a potential delay in your commute. This morning
if you're somebody that lives in that area. As of
right now, there's still plenty of fire fire fire firefighter
presence there on the scene. All right, we'll get you

caught up on traffic in just a moment. It looks
like as of right now, we're pretty smooth sailing, and
usually that's the case. This early we have less less issues,
but as the morning goes on and we get more rain,
that could obviously change. So keep in lock with us.

in the southern counties just south of Louisville Bullet Nelson,
also Spencer County, Breckenridge County, so be advised. A lot
of rain has come down and we could have some
more heavy rain it sounds like up until about the
seven am hour.

How about the US and the World Cup. A couple
of wins to get things started, some real momentum, and
it's got me fired up. Not for you know, I'm
not going to be a faker and act like I'm
all into soccer because I just I don't really know
a lot about the sport, but I understand now the
cons I know what the World Cup is, and it's

an awesome concept. And the fact that we're having some
success and we've got momentum seemingly, I mean, it feels
like we've got momentum now more so than we've had
in a long time, which that's a good feeling to have,
especially when we're hosting. There's also an element to that
that makes it, I think a little bit of a
different experience for the World Cup, especially you're somebody like
myself who just doesn't really get into it based off

As though we had a plenty of tornado warnings within
the region here, we do have one confirmed tornado that
came down in Henryville in southern Indiana, the second one
in a week that has hit our friends of the north. However,
does not sound like there's been any severe damage just yet.
So right now, as of five oh six, it sounds
as if our fears are just floods and flash flooding,
(00:43):
those kind of things. As far as thunderstorms, tornado activity,
that kind of stuff, that's that's not believed to be
any kind of real threat. But obviously a lot of
rain has come down, we could have more coming in.
It sounds like that's the expectations, so be prepared. Do
you want to let you know once again, don't drive
into flooded people still seem to do that, so worth reminding.

But yeah, this morning I could tell as I made
my way in we'd gotten a lot of rain, but
over all the storms.

You guys of course, well John is near me, and
Scott you're you're more so you are in the Metro.
Any storm sirens coming. I feel like the Metro for
the most part was pretty much unscathed compared to our
friends of the north.

Yeah, I think so. I mean I slept through it.
I didn't get the same here.

Yeah, I knew when i'd come downstairs with my wife
leaves the light on downstairs, that she's been up because
of the storms. And then I saw the lens alerts
come through on my phone overnight. I did not hear
a thing last night, but it does sound pretty significant
as far as the storm damage.

Like you said, that's all we need is more flooding
around here now.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, And and just some of the pictures that are
partners at wk Y have shown this morning, as you
can tell that that there are some areas that that
got quite a bit of rain and We've had plenty
in the last week. So if you're worried about the
basement flooding, totally get it.

And again, I think when you consider we had a
rather dry weekend, almost the humidity was like the rain
was on its way, and we certainly got dumped on
last night. But if you if you consider what's come
down in the last i don't know, twelve hours or
so compared to what you know, along with what we
had last week. I mean, we were talking about how
dry it was right the lake. Everybody wanted to go

to lake and there was no water. I don't know
if they're having that same problem right now.

I was gonna say, if you're if you're looking ahead
to the fourth of July holiday and you're a fan
of pool weather, very hot weather we're looking at we
could see tempts in the mid upper nineties by the
time we get to fourth of July week. Yeah, I'm right,
good news, isn't it. It'll feel like July will put
it down here.

I don't know if I'm if I'm getting softer or what.
But yesterday we were at at Churchill Down celebrating Father's Day,
and the temperature really wasn't bad, but it felt brutal.

It was just a gross.

Humidity that you know, nobody seems to like. I know
I certainly don't like it. And same thing even on Saturday,
temperatures never really got crazy. But it's the nice reminder
that you get that it really it just comes down
to air quality and humidity.

I don't know if I can gauge it on, you know,
on any kind of data to fully tell me just
how human it is.

Right, I watch your humidity. That's that's all it is,

a fan of the hot weather, I know a lot
of people like it when he gets really hot like

I don't know, maybe I should abandoned these clowns in

I don't know if it's because you just enjoyed working
with Terry Moore or maybe it's just because you got
more sleep. Sleep securities are really showing this morning on
a Monday, we lose John Alden.

For four days last week, came back. You're back. Let it.

You let what they say about letting somebody lose that
they come back. You know, it's true love or something
like that.

Yeah, But like I also know that you know, you

just I'll just believe that it was your decision and

we certainly missed you and we were glad to have
you back. But look, we're very real and transparent with
each other here. I know, uh, the alarm clock going
off this morning, and you were getting your getting your
getting your day, started to get out the door and

come to us. There probably was a little bit of
oh man, here we go again. You got a nice break, right,

I was definitely adjusted to waking up at a later
time in the morning. But the first day back is
always fine, But it's as you get into the middle
of the week where you start to feel that sleep fatigue.

So we are entering week four here of the I
sixty five shutdown, and I think overall, is it safe
to say, guys that this has been really smooth, all
things considered. I mean outside of the can opener, which
we're actually making progress there. I mean, I think we're
off to We're nearly halfway there, and it sounds like
they are on schedule. And I think the concern about

potential nightmare scenarios, I think we're justified and understandable because
this is not normal. But here we are three weeks
in and it seems like just about everybody has has
gotten acclimated. You know, I was out yesterday near the
area that I'm now having to drive each morning to
get here, and I feel like I know these roads
like the back of my hand. I can get you know,
I can't tell you the some of these streets, but

I know how to get around. And it's just it's
everybody figuring out what makes the most sense for them,
and I don't know who we applaud. I guess everybody
collectively can pat themselves on the back, because again, I think,
considering the potential of disaster, just when you consider what
we were doing here, shutting down a major interstate for
the first time really ever, when it comes to just
completely shut down for miles, no lanes open north or south,

but overall it's been pretty smooth, but again that could
change it any time. So we will keep you up
to date this morning on what you need to know
as far as traffic. With the roads being the way
they are, wet and more rain potentially coming down, there
could be some ponding in certain areas, so you've got
to be careful when it comes to that. And if
you are just now joining us, that is the real worry.

It's just the flash flood mornings that are in effect
this morning and most of the area really we're talking
in southern Indiana into most of the counties here on
the Kentucky side, So we'll keep you up to date

comes to these weather situations. They've got the they've got

It sounds like that happened within the last couple of hours.
We'll give you the details. I don't want to misspeak,
but I did see they had they had Sam Carter

alive there covering and and it did not look like
a did not look like a fun situation there by
any means. And we got to talk once again about
something we've talked about quite a bit, and that is
what goes on in the Highlands over the weekends, because
you now have a similar situation where fights break out
in the streets and it's really just the same thing
you typically see, right like the videos that surface on

Facebook and Instagram that everybody shares where you got crowds
of people, hundreds of people seemingly just in the middle
of the street. Then you got to fight, you got
a bunch of police presents. So it's not the only
thing different. Now, how was that two people got shot?
So I'd say that's the sign that they're still doing
what they're supposed to do, meaning this task force. But
the one component that makes this better is people behaving responsibly,

and that doesn't seem to be changing at all. And
I'm not really sure what you do about that. I
wish I could give you the solution. I don't have it.
But this changes, meaning well, we're not coming in every
week after every weekend talking about the shenanigans in the Highlands,
people getting shot, roads getting shut down, a bunch of
people getting arrested. The only way that actually changes is
if people start behaving, and there's no sign that that's

going to start anytime soon. Also, overnight, three people shot
in the in the Butchertown area. Will give you the
details that happened around two am last night. It sounds
like there was an Airbnb party going on and at
some point shots broke out. Three people shot. It doesn't
sound like those are life threatening injuries at this point.
But man, we had ourselves a weekend and we're coming off.
We're coming in this morning after a pretty wild night,

crazy weather north of US, a tornado hitting Henryville, which
is not that far from where we are, and of
course people getting shot. So just just another just another
Monday morning. Right week started. We got sports though.

And I love that we now have many calling the
the World Cup that we're hosting here, with so many
people from across the globe visiting, we're calling it the
Great American sleep Over. And I think that's the best
way to describe it. And I cannot and I've said
it every week. I cannot get enough of seeing people
from other countries here in America enjoying our culture, having

a good time, and then seeing the rest of America
join in with them and realize, hey, you know, we
may not even speak the same language, but we got
we got something in common. We like to have a
good time. We're just gonna enjoy each other's vibes. It's
everywhere and it's amazing. And I don't know if we
knew we needed this. I mean, I can't speak anybody
but myself, but like I needed to feel good about America,

and I feel really good about America right now with
how one how well we're doing in soccer. Also, just
like you never know what it'll do for you when
somebody gases you up a little bit. And when I
see all these people from other countries just wanting to
be like, America is awesome to use. They got free
refills at restaurants. Well, and you guys heard about they
got this thing called ranch dressing. You're right, We're fat

are the We are the king of ranch dressing, and
we own it.

What's happened too, is now it's starting the you know,
because the people are coming over from Europe and they're
not tipping because that's not customary. So now it's starting
a movement where Europeans are telling restaurants start paying your people.

Yeah, start paying them, and it's it's pushing on.

That's a higher That's an interesting conversation that I want
to have a little later because I have seen what
you said. But also the people who are documenting their trip.
But it's more so they're like they're they're they're wanting
to send it. They probably have most of their followers
from the country they're from, right, so they're kind of
documenting it, giving it first hand perspective, and they're saying, well, look,
you don't have to tip, And I'm thinking, well, actually

it's an unwritten rule, like you don't have to necessarily,
but come on, like I think if you to not
tip somebody under any at all, like there's got to
be some pretty crazy circumstances that led to that.

But what you said is would.

Would would you have as many people wanting to work
in that industry as far as bartenders and servers if
there was not tips and they only made hourly rates.
I think as much as you know, it's easy to
point at the restaurants and say, why don't you pay
them more? I think a lot of the people who
do the bartending in the serving. They're able to make
a good enough living doing that because the tips and

how it works. So maybe we'll revisit that because I'm
sure there's plenty of people that listen that would love
to chime in and share some thoughts on that. So
again we are loaded this morning on a Monday. We'll

going on with the traffic. Obviously a lot of rain
has come down over the night overnight, which means we
could have some flooded roadways, so be advised, and we

It was within that first couple of months. That newborn
phase is such a blur in general, probably for everybody,

Father's day yesterday with especially we spent the entire day
with the in laws, spent a good amount of time
in their Southern comfort hot tub. It was it was fantasy,
was the white witning in there with you. It wouldn't
have surprised me if he was watching us.

I thought, so, you got a Southern covered hot tub
that it just comes with d white witting on demand
in a speedo.

No, thankfully, Father's Day. Thankfully that is not the case.

Did, And I tell you what, It's actually becoming one
of my favorite days of the year.

want to celebrate Father's Day.

I'm happy to know that it's still natural for me
to want to be with my kids on Father's Day,

far as just what we have going on here with
our peace deal that really is uh is I mean,
let's be honest, is it? Is it even real? Like?
I mean, we know there's framework, that's what they keep
labeling it as, but it doesn't mean anything because nobody's

really following what they're supposed to do and it's mostly
I mean, obviously what we have now is Trump at
least for the first time, as far as being this
direct and letting people know that like if they don't
follow through with what they're supposed to do, like, there's
gonna be sane consequences. And I guess he's kind of
said as much throughout, but it does seem as if
he's now to the point where, Okay, look, they're either

going to play ball or they're not, and we're going
to have to handle this a different way. Here's the latest,
and this is coming from.

Overnight negotiations went well into the night in Switzerland where
Vice President JD. Van Say is leading the US delegation
in talks with Iran.

What the President has asked us to do is turn

You hear that things look encouraging, you hear that we won,
You hear that essentially it's done and they just got
to put ink to paper essentially, but that it never
goes according to plan and that never is sustained just
because they're not doing their end. And anybody thinking that

to play ball and do their part. That's that's delusion,

is what that is. All right, trafficking weather updates are
coming your way. What I do want to get to
coming up here on the other side, we had a
fire overnight in fact, it was more so earlier this
morning at the New Albany Country Club. We've got our
partners at wk WHY covering that right now. And again
the scene this morning as we started the show, very
very serious looking as far as just the severe already
(19:00):
of this fire. But we'll get the details to you
coming up here on the other side. Stick around. So
we got the morning started fresh off of a tornado
that did touchdown just north of us in Henryville, Indianna,
and no real crazy damage, but they did confirm it
was a tornado, and we've had tornado warnings that were
in effect overnight, but we have moved past that as
of five point forty seven this morning. Our concerns now
(19:22):
is rain and of course floods that can come from that,
so we'll keep you up to date throughout the morning.
But also a wild situation here in southern Indiana at
the New Albany Golf Course where there was a fire overnight.
I believe earlier I said New Albany country Club, I
don't believe that's I don't even know that exists. I
might have just made up a place, but it was
the New Albany Golf Course that again just in the
(19:43):
last few hours here was on fire and it looks scary. However,
it looks like now they have put that fire out
and WKY Sam Carter with our partners at OKHY was
there on the scene and here is the latest on
that situation in New Albany.
Speaker 8 (19:59):
Well, right now we're seeing a building left in tatters
Ladies right off of Great Brooklaim as you say, at
New Albany Country Club. Now we do know a little
bit about this. We know that crews were called out
here in New Albany around eleven o'clock for heavy smoke.
Now they did make entrance to the building, but because
of high heat and heavy smoke, had to be pulled out.
Now we have video of flame showing from the building
(20:21):
and as you can see, the building in a kind
of dilapidated state at the moment. This is that video
of those flames showing from the building as that weather
deteriorated this evening overnight. Now we don't know a ton
about what happened here. The Indiana State Fire Marshall is
on the ground currently investigating, and they don't want to
commit to any cause whatsoever. But it was pretty terrible
(20:43):
weather here overnight and the investigation is underway. Now. If
you want to take a look up here, you can
see just where that kind of fire ripped through this building.
Still a lot to uncovered, but the good news here
is I was told by a battalion chief no firefighters
or people were injured while fighting this fire. We're gonna
get more information as it becomes available, but until then,

in New Albany, Sam Carter WK why news.

So again nobody injured, which is great, And of course
a lot of what you heard Sam describing there was
him telling you to look at what he was showing you.
And this is radio so you can't see, but I
can tell you firsthand. It doesn't look as if that
that there's It doesn't look like there's gonna be I
wouldn't say a whole lot left. Obviously it didn't burn
to the ground, but some severe damage seemingly still very
dark outside. And also the heavy rain that has come down,

and some of the video they were showing you could
tell as the fire was burning there was a lot
of rain coming down. So again it is the New
Albany country Club, and I would imagine that could put
could put a potential delay in your commute. This morning
if you're somebody that lives in that area. As of
right now, there's still plenty of fire fire fire firefighter
presence there on the scene. All right, we'll get you

caught up on traffic in just a moment. It looks
like as of right now, we're pretty smooth sailing, and
usually that's the case. This early we have less less issues,
but as the morning goes on and we get more rain,
that could obviously change. So keep in lock with us.

a lot about the sport, but I understand now the
cons I know what the World Cup is, and it's

an awesome concept. And the fact that we're having some
success and we've got momentum seemingly, I mean, it feels
like we've got momentum now more so than we've had
in a long time, which that's a good feeling to have,
especially when we're hosting. There's also an element to that
that makes it, I think a little bit of a
different experience for the World Cup, especially you're somebody like
myself who just doesn't really get into it based off
the love of soccer.

I love everything about the World Cup.

It's just I'm not somebody that's really been exposed to
the sport of soccer. But I'm enjoying this World Cup,
