All right, good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome man.

It's five six here on a Tuesday morning, coffee and
company with you, and we are fueled by Thornton's and
we appreciate you hanging with us as we get this
Tuesday started. Gonna be a pleasant day. We are officially
in the summer, fellas I mean, I think we turned
the page to summer in the last holiday weekend at
the beginning of this month. But technically it is officially
summer now, but it's not going to feel like it.

How about how about low eighties today with some decent
humidity levels. I'll take it, especially after all these storms
we've had lately.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Well, and enjoy it, dude, because we are turning the
blast furnace on next week at this time.

I can either see that as you raining on my
parade or I could see that as you wanting me
more so to take advantage and you know, cherish the doing.

The decent temperatures we're going to get now north of
July is going to feel like July. Yeah.

We'll keep you updated this morning through on traffic, weather,
that kind of stuff. That's what you come to expect.
But we are going to get a lighter morning. When
it comes to that, we don't expect to see any
any crazy issues with weather. After yesterday we had a
morning that started with some tornadoes coming down. We now
have some confirmation that the storm activity in the area,
not only in of course southern Indiana, but even in

the Kentuckian area down the Breckinridge County. They're confirming tornadoes
did hit. So much better morning when it comes to
that kind of stuff, But there was some yesterday that
almost didn't seem real, but it was real. And I'm
curious does this kind of stuff happen anywhere else? You're
on sixty four or waters and I'm not sure which
one it was, but you see a horse just galloping

along the interstate, going in the opposite direction of other vehicles.
And of course this is the kind of clip that
will go viral. It will have you questioning, hey, is
this ai because man, you could create things that look
real that are just like that, but it was in
fact real. And have you guys seen any of the.

Clips at all?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, I mean yeah, so would you if you're sitting
there on the interstate and you realize cars are slowing
down there's some type of traffic situation developing in front
of you, and then you see a horse that looks
like it's on its way to be put in the
post to take off at Churchill Downs.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I would not believe it's real. I wouldn't. I would
think I'm dreaming. I wouldn't believe it.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
When I saw the video, I thought it was AI.
I'm with you, Scott, I kind of thought it was
fake for a second.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, I thought it was AI.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
The movement of the horse made me think, okay, no,
there's a glitch there.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
That's a it's AAI motion. And sure enough it's real.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Had his ankles taped up and everything ready to go,
and and like you said, he was ready to go
into the post.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
So my question is I didn't read too much into
the story. How did it happen? So a horse.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Trailer carrying five different thoroughbreds and by the way, these
are all Kenny mcpeak's horses.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
We now know this.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
They were involved in a crash, very minor crash. It
happened on waters in two sixty four and it was
about two twenty and at that point they somehow got
out because of the tre Yeah, so it sounds like
a semi truck rear ended the trailer where the where
the where the horses were. Thankfully they were okay, but
it did lead to the horses get getting loose, uh

and and getting out somehow, and one of course was
caught by a groom nearby, but the other was able
to get away. And it was a seemingly a group
of people. And I'm not sure if it's folks that
were with the trailer or with the truck that was
carrying the horses, or just good Samaritans that's decided to
step in and help. But they kind of collectively blocked

in and and came with comfort to ease the horse
from being scared, and everything was okay, but it's it's
far from something you would typically see. But uh yeah,
if you're if you're Kenny McPeek, you're thinking, oh oh oh,
I mean not only is that uh, that's it's your
livelihood maybe in there, but also like those are kind
of your.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Babies, right right right, I mean there's a lot, like
you said, there's a lot of money tied up into
I wonder how often that happens and if there's protocols
in place. I was amazed they were to harness the
horse and get the horse back.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yet you know, to.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
See that all horses are okay and the only issue
was one one Philly had a minor scratch, and even
the drivers were unharmed and everything was completely cleared up
by four pm.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
So really it worked out great.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
But it is easily it's easy to see this could
have gone really bad. I mean it could have been
really bad. But again, only in Louisville, I think, do
you see things like this right? Like this is like
this will this has a chance to go viral, more
so because it's a horse, and it's because we're in
Louisville where Churchill downsas like people are just gonna think,
I guess, I guess they get there's probably more horses

there than people. Like that's just people who don't know
anything about Louisville other than we have the Derby. They're
probably just gonna think this is very normal. And I
don't think it's normal, but it is so us.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
It's like when we had the flooding by the Gold
House and that deer made that jump.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
And that's all time clip, isn't it that?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
And I think we're very lucky that we never really
saw the other another angle of how that ended.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
But you have this this young.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Deer, Bambi, like just galloping downtown Louisville near the Gold
House and then jumps over that overpass and the video
I'm referencing, we never got to see the other end.
And I've heard that's a good thing because I don't
think that deer knew where it was what it was
doing when it jumped. But it's kind of scary these
these animals, I mean, out of their environment, to say
the least scared.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
That thoroughbred was to just.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Be of course, he like cars going sixty five miles
an hour in the other direction. It was probably a
traumatic experience, no doubt. But let's get to an update
on traffic and weather as we get this Monday morning.

So I'm sorry Tuesday, Tuesday, You're sorry, sorry not to
my Monday.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, I don't want to do that, But so what
I want to get to coming up on the other side,
A judge pretty much echoed what I said yesterday when
it comes to what is going on in the Highlands
and like ultimately why this is happening and how it
changes and look, when a judge then always doesn't always
happened that a judge you didn't realize it, but kind
of feels the same way you feel. But I think

this is this is this is the root of it,
and more people need to realize it when it comes
to how this gets better and why it's even happening.

I want to say this though today, and this has
nothing to do with being off for the last week,
at least I don't think it does. Today it was
the first time since the shutdown happened that I've been
aggravated with my route. And it's not because I was
late or anything. I just really don't like taking the
surface streets for as long as I have to at
this point.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, like things that typically probably wouldn't really irritate you
are lightly irritating you, and I think you chalk that
up as hey, you have to get up in the
three am hour, and I think anybody who does that
there's just gonna be things that you know you're you're
more so frustrated by it. But again, we're we're at
full force this morning, and I'm sure enough, after you know,

a few more days, you'll be fully accremated with being back.
And you know, only you will know if that's something
that you choose to to enjoy and embrace. But we're
certainly happy to have you, all right. So yesterday it
was Judge Christina Garvey who had some of those arrested
and sided on Saturday night Sunday morning in the Highlands
in front of her in a courtroom, and she echoed

a lot of what I think seems to be really
obvious here.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
But I just don't sense.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
That people are looking at this situation in the Highlands
the way that they should. Again, you can have whatever
opinion you want, see for however you want. I'm not
gonna try to change your mind. And obviously you know
I don't really care what you think, to be honest
with you, and I say that only because I can't
control what you think.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
That's on you.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
But this gets better when people start behaving and realizing
that you can't do this. This is there's this is
no way to live and if you do this, you're
gonna be held accountable. There's gonna be consequences for your actions.
So it doesn't get better until that happens with some
internal accountability from individuals, but it also happens because of them.

(08:39):
Like I can't quite comprehend this somewhat seemingly new thing
where whenever you have the situation like you have in
the Highlands or just the other issues that we have
in Louisville, and we're not unique, but obviously gun violence,
juveniles being involved in violent crime, when that happens and
there's a crime that takes place, or again something like

(09:02):
the situation in the Highlands, it all starts and ends
with the individual who decides to do these things. It's
no because somebody brought guns to the Highlands and shot
somebody on Saturday night. There was nothing LMPD could have
done to change that. The task force wasn't implemented to
keep that from ever happening. It's to when it does,

(09:22):
there's going to be examples made and the law is
going to be enforced. So it all comes down to
people just growing up and being not quit behaving like fools.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
Either go to an establishment and have fun like regular
people around town, or stay home or at a friend's house.
This behavior is ridiculous. That all of you are sitting
in here is so dumb. You're grown, acting a fool
and messing up everybody else's night too.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I mean, that's exactly that's what's happening. So again, the
task force is doing exactly what it intended to do.
Forty plus citations. Multiple guns have been seized, that's been
happening every weekkend and yeah, three people got shot and
that's unfortunate. But the way this changes is people needing
to understand like, if you do this, you're gonna get caught.

And there's again, if.

You want to have the conversation about, well, the people
who are doing this, they've already got long rap sheets
and they shouldn't have even been free and out to
eat to do these things. And that's a different conversation,
and that's a valid point. That's where the criticism of
the judges comes into play. We've certainly done a lot
of that. But I hope that the attention that this

(10:36):
this judge is getting with the comments that she made
and again it's Judge Christina Garvey. I'm hope, I'm hopeful
that that I'm not trying to act like people are
being too hard on LMPD or the mayor or the
task force, because I understand that that there's always going
to be people that just want to point fingers and
not realize that, like, it starts with individuals and the
choices they make, that's why these things happen. But there

(10:58):
seems to be some level of a disconnect where we're
no longer even wired to initially understand that when something
really bad happens, it's usually an individual who is the
ultimate one responsible for a bad decision that they made.
And there really was, in most instances, really nothing anybody
could have done, nothing that could have been done to
prevent it other than that person not being an idiot.

That's really what it comes down to. All Right, we
got sports coming up on the other side. We'll talk
about the NBA Draft, which why in the world is
the NBA Draft isn't on a Tuesday?

would imagine they're going to be there and know, but
still just presenting that on that platform should be really
cool for so many people to see. But also it's
just going to bring so much exposure to to what
I think is just such a great a great organization
and something that I would have never really given much
thought to. But man, that that that's a very needed
thing for those that are starting that chapter of their
life where they're they're in the foster care system and

And obviously, when you turn eighteen, you become you become
a legal adult, regardless of your of your situation with
your parents. But I can tell you I know I
had more resources for me when I made that jump
from child to adult legally of course, whenever I had
my parents, And not everybody has that. So again, we
appreciate Alex. I just bring that up as an example

And when you find yourself in a situation where you're
gonna want to hold somebody accountable, maybe a distracted driver
for running you off the road or whatever it may be,

We all just assumed it was AI. Right.

Is that actually encouraging that we at least or maybe
it's just us, but there's a radar with us as
far as just questioning how legit some of this stuff
that we see online is it was legit, but we
all thought it was fake initially.

I'm glad we have the radar.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
We're very aware that a lot of things are fake nowadays,
but I also hate that that's just the reality that
we're in that we can't trust any video that is
presented to us nowadays.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Yeah, and I tell you what, now, we've got an
even bigger concern when it comes to that, which we'll
get to this in the six o'clock hour, viral framing.
If you don't know what it is, we'll talk about it.
Because now that's a new layer of misinformation on the internet, right,
Taking something that there is some truth to it, but
framing it to go viral and you just completely manipulate
a story at times. There's some good examples of that

out there. We'll get to it. Anyways, Let's get back
to the horse that ended up just running around on
the waters and not something you see every day, but
it did happen. And here's what we know. The horse itself,
they got loose. It was one of two that got
free after there was an accident on the watersen and
a truck rear ended, a semi truck by the way

(15:36):
rear ended the trailer that was carrying these horses.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
There were two of.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Them that got loose. One ended up being caught by
a groom right away. The others the one that you
saw that was running around clearly scared on the watersin
and all in all, this could have been a lot worse.
Kenny McPeak, these were his horses. That's a trainer. I'm
sure you've probably heard that name before. But he did
call the outcome fortunate, saying that it could have been
much worse. And that was my initial thought, is that

you know, they were able to get this horse seemingly
they got it under control and got it out of
harm's way pretty quickly, but man, I would imagine that's
probably the first time that horse has been running on
an interstate and the fear that you'd have and the
driver's not really knowing what to do. I mean, it
could have been a disaster, but it was not. Everybody's okay.
The only injuries are one of the horses that was

involved in the crash had some minor scratches. That was
a philly and overall, again good situation considering how much
worse it could have been. But we had somebody listening
this morning that wanted to share their thoughts as they
were actually watching this whole thing unfold from Afar.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
I actually work in one of the buildings right there,
and I'm just looking down at all of this unfolding,
and I just I couldn't stop watching those grooms with
that horse and the look on their faces. I mean
they were scared, not scared of the horse, but scared
for it, like how you'd be scared for your own child.
And I just in the middle of all that chaos,
that was actually really sweet to a really sweet.

Yeah, I'm not surprised to hear that. I've I've been
able to be near the well. I guess really just
the week of the derby. Every week we could we
do the show backside and without really looking to just
see what it's like to, you know, maybe be a
fly on the wall in one of those barns. You
can just tell that those that work every day with

a lot of those horses, it is like their child.
I mean, it's it's something that you know, I couldn't
relate to by any means, but you do. You do
develop an appreciation for Hey, you know these you hear
about the trainers and of course the owners and the
jockeys and everybody that's involved in what we see when
we watch a horse race, but there's also many that
are involved in the process day to day as far

as just keeping them healthy, keeping them fed, helping them
get to workouts, that kind of stuff. So I'm not
at all if there was somebody in that truck that
you saw that was reacting as if it was their
own child out there in a very scary situation, that
does not shock me. I always go back to when
I took my son back to the backside a couple
of years ago, and he's obsessed with horse racing, which,

by the way, how about this John He cashed three
or four tickets on Father's Day.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Wow, it's just I mean, he's good for him.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I can't take any credit for it, but I want
to because he's really good at betting on horses and
he's six years old and I don't know how it happened,
but anyways, when I took him backside a couple of
years ago for the first time where he was old
enough to really kind of, you know, take it in.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
And experience it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
One of the there was a woman who was working
there near one of the barns where we were petting
the horses, and you know, she was being super nice,
and I swear to you it felt like she was
it was her child, like was her it was her
baby that she not only just because how she was
talking about it, but how she was talking to the horse.
So yeah, that doesn't surprise me. And I appreciate you
sharing your experience yesterday. All right, quick time out, We've

going to do before then turning around and then talking
smack and acting like you know, they're just toying with us.

as what's happening with the peace deal in Iran, as
there's been framework for quite some time, a couple weeks
now as far as just what this is going to
look like, and anytime there seemed to be some good progress,
it would be quickly derailed because after agreeing to essentially

play ball, Iran would then just turn around and start
talking trash. I mean, that's I think the best way
to describe it. And that's exactly how Jdvans described it yesterday.
But since yesterday, here's the latest. This is from Bradley Blackburn.

Vice President. JD. Vance traveled to San Diego after what
he calls a productive trip to Switzerland to kick off
negotiations with Iran.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
I feel great about the progress that we made over
the last couple of days.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
The talks lasted more than eighteen hours.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Van said.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
Mechanisms were established to ensure the street of war moves
will stay open to shipping, but who will control it
remains a point of contention. The lead Iranian negotiator said,
the regime will manage it. President Trump sees it differently.
We have total control of the strait, the mechanism, you know,
we have a navy that had a blockade.

I think the blockade was more impactful than dropping bombs.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
Additionally, Van says the Iranians agreed to invite International Atomic
Energy Agency inspectors back into the country. Iran maintains it
hasn't yet agreed to the terms. Van says progress was
also made regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon between Israel and
Hesbila militants.

Were their allies.

It railis to the golf arabs to make sure that sticks,
and we feel very very good about where that is.

Speaker 7 (21:04):
Technical talks are expected to continue between the US Iran
and mediators in hopes of finalizing an agreement sometime in

So again, we'll let you hear a little more from
what Jadvan said to say yesterday. I know, for those
that are with us in the five o'clock hour, I'm
sure you missed it when we got to it later
on in the morning. But I thought he did a
good job of kind of really dumbing it down for
people like me to explain sort of what is happening
as to why there's the disconnect where from the United
States side, you hear optimism and it looks as if

things are going well and this is going to end.
We'll still never know fully if it was worth it.
That really just depends on how you choose to view
it as an individual. But you'd hear optimism and then
it would quickly turn into yeah, now we're actual we
actually shut down the straight And again I thought he
explained it pretty well. All right, let's get to an
update on the roadways, we'll see how traffic's looking on
this Tuesday morning, and also coming up in sports. In
