Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tony Pike joins us every hour with the elates from
training camp. There's nothing happening today, Tony, which is sort
of a quiet before the storm day, because this is
going to be a big week.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, you know, not only Thursday the joint practice, which
bar none, you take practices, you take preseason games. It
will be the most significant day of training camp and
the most significant day of work this team will have
before their opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's Thursday.
Tomorrow is expected to be an intense physical practice as well,

(00:31):
So you kind of circle this week as the work week.
I don't expect a lot of the guys to play
on Saturday because so much of their work is going
to get done on Thursday against the Bears Ones. And
then you're in preseason game number three on the road,
where not a lot of guys are going to play.
So this is the big week of work that you
circle for Bengals training camp on where you're going to
start to maybe see some separation.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
How close is Dante Myers to clinching the spot on
this team.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I think he's really close. I think as if the
decision were to be made today, I think there's a
spot between Charlie Jones, Kendrick Pryor, and Mitch Tinsley. I
think that would come down to the last spot. I
think Dante Myers as of today, would be on the roster.
I think he gives you more of an upside than
what the others do. But that's the thing about training

(01:17):
camp and the next couple of days. You're going to
have an opportunity to make your case if you're one
of those other guys, and if you're Dante Myers, you
also have the case that you could lose if you
take a couple of steps back. So if it were
done today, I think he does. But I think there's
a lot of time, and there's going to be a
lot of install and a lot of film work and

(01:37):
things to work on between now and then before they
make the decision.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
You and I on Friday, the day after the preseason game,
we talked about how good Brian Parker was in his
NFL debut. We also talked about the Orlando Brown moment
and the concern surrounding Orlando Brown. I feel like the
other backup offensive lineman should take those two guys to dinner,
because instead of talking about how underwhelming. Some those guys
were we talked about the good with Brian Parker and

(02:02):
the not so good with Orlando Brown.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah, and one of the things with Brian Parker being
able to move around on the line position versatility is
something we've talked about a lot. For Orlando Brown Junior,
I'm giving it the Thursday. I have to see more
going out of Bengals practice on Thursday against the Bears
to feel more comfortable because right now it was my
biggest question on the line outside of the depth, but
for the starters, my biggest question has been Orlando Brown Junior.

(02:28):
I need to see something that takes me away from
that by the end of practice on Thursday or else
that's going to become more of a conversation. And if
that becomes more of a conversation, all of a sudden,
we shift to the underwhelming play of the backup offensive line,
which poses even more of an issue for this team.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Cornerback Sierra Wright decided to leave the team because he's
going to go continue his acting career. What would your
preference be, practice squad, NFL player or major motion picture star.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Major motion pictures are a little less wear and tear
on the body as well than what practice squad and
football would give you. Maybe he can do both. Maybe
he gets done shooting in October and he comes back
and he does both. But I think I would I
would take a little Hollywood excursion to start things off.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
