the news. Here's Sheriff Ryer.Good morning everyone. I'm Sheriff Ryer.
It is now five two on newsRadio seven forty KTRH. Our top story.
This is our a major internet outagesunderways, impacting several airlines and banks

(01:49):
across the country. More on thatin a minute, But first I stand
before you in this arena, onlyby the grace of Almighty God, Donald
Trump officially accepting the Republican nomination infront of thousands in Milwaukee now live on
KATRH You heard it his first publicspeech since the attempt on his life last

(02:14):
Saturday in Pennsylvania. So many peoplehave asked me what happened. Tell us
what happened, please, and thereforeI will tell you exactly what happened,
and you'll never hear it from mea second time because it's actually too painful
to tell. He then gave myminute personal account and paid tribute to the

(02:37):
firefighter who was killed protecting his wifeand daughter, Corey Comparatore. He lost
his life selflessly acting as a humanshield to protect them from flying bullets.
He went right over the top ofthem and was hit. Trump also talked
about Jocelyn Nungeri. That's the twelveyear old Houston girl who was murdered by

(02:57):
two illegal aliens last month. We'llhave more on that at five point thirty.
Trump's speech, as expected, wasa huge hit. Political analyst Chris
Begalli says Trump hit all the rightnotes. It was an excellent speech.
I think he did a great job, especially when he talked about last Saturday's
attack. His recanting of what happenedSaturday in Butler, Pennsylvania was very powerful

(03:20):
and mesmerizing and in the end,Trump may have won over independence and never
Trumper's two. He talked about howthis country has problems and he's confident he
consolved those problems. Begala joins Houston'sMorning News at seven twenty Cliff Saunders News
Radio seven forty KTRH it's five ohthree. Republicans are calling for her to
resign. The Secret Service director KimCheadle reportedly did meet with Trump earlier this

(03:44):
week. Donald Trump Junior wants someoneto be held accountable over the Secret Service
allowing his father on stage during anactive threat that they knew about before he
took the stage. They knew, and he hadn't even been on stage yet,
they let him on stage, andthen eleven minutes in is when the
shamps got so for twenty minutes theyknew, they still let him get on

(04:04):
that stage. Like that's asinine,Trump Junior with kg Eurahius, Klay Travis,
and Buck Sexton. New York Postreporting whistleblowers in the Secret Service told
the House Judiciary Committee secret Service hadquote little resources to cover the Pennsylvania rally.
They had allocated them elsewhere. Trumpholds his first rally since the attempt

(04:27):
on his life, and that willbe tomorrow in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Five oh four is our time.New York Times reporting Joe Biden could drop
out of the race this weekend, though longtime Biden allies admit, well,
yeah, that handwriting is on thewall. When we gather for our convention
next month, I'm confident that wewill nominate the best candidate to take on

(04:48):
and defeat Donald Trump. That's DelawareSenator Democrat Chris Croons on CNN. Now
the Washington Post is claiming the formerpresident Barack Obama is behind it. He's
the one who thinks Biden should reconsiderhis candidacy. And there's this gen Z
voters guess what they're moving away fromDemocrats. A recent survey from Pew Research

(05:13):
says forty seven percent of those surveyedand under the age of thirty align more
with Republicans compared to forty six percentfor Dems. This is reflecting the dissatisfaction
of younger members of generation. Theprofessor of political science at Rice University,
Mark Jones, says most contributing factorsfor young voters include a dollar sign,
cost of living, and things likeinflation, jobs, housing student debt.

(05:38):
Jared Lewis Snooze Radio seven forty khrhit is now five oh six. Well,
this broke overnight. A global Internetoutage of some sort has forced the
FAA to issue a groundstop for severalmajor airlines at some airports. This is
related to CrowdStrike, and it firmit's a global issue right now. Now.

(06:00):
A communications system that runs check insat airports, keeps flights on time
and banks running appears to be down. This is also related to Microsoft.
That's David Spunt reporting. Now there'sa local TV report that claims that that
stoppage is in effect here, butnot No, we just checked at Bush
nor at Hobby. However, wecan't speak for other airports across the country

(06:24):
and how that might affect your flight. New data shows that more than one
third of workers are now struggling, truly struggling because of high prices and Biden
inflation. More than a third ofworkers feel like they're living paycheck to paycheck,
but some groups are disproportionally more likelyto be failing this way. Yeah,

(06:45):
the Fed hopes that was bankraade.Sarah Foster, She says Generations Z
and millennials are most likely to beaffected. FED hopes to cut interest rates
though before the election. That wouldmake Wall Street happy, but it might
be too little, too late.Doing any more cuts will set off another
dramatic round of inflation like we've neverseen. We would see inflation go up

(07:06):
even more than it did before. If we can expect even higher rates into
the double digits than twenty twenty five, Economists EJ. And Tony says raising
the rates is the only solution. While they've been raised some, the band
aid hasn't been entirely ripped off. These rates seem high to us today.
That's just because we've been spoiled withartificially low rates for the last twenty years,

(07:28):
he says. Even if they docut rates, it'll only be by
a fraction. Andrey Perard News Radioseven forty ktrh nearly five thousand centipront customers

sherebrauff Ryer on News Radio seven fortyKTRH. This is most important. This
is the most important collection this year. It is believe that stay with your
most important station, News Radio sevenforty KGRH. Shar has already told you

(08:35):
about this it outage. It's aMicrosoft problem. Let me give you some
further information as it relates to theairlines out there. Of course, you
know you're just going to have tocheck hour by hour to see what's going
on. But this morning, allflights from several major US airlines, including
Delta, United and American Airlines groundedthis morning due to a communications issue,

(08:56):
according to the FAA, although Americanlater said it had resolved the issue,
So maybe this is something that theairlines can resolve themselves. Earlier this morning,
a technical issue with a vendor impactedmultiple carries, including American as a
five am Eastern time. They saidthat they had been able to safely re
establish their operation, saying we apologizeto our customers for the inconvenience. The

(09:18):
ground stop impacted all flights from theairlines, regardless of their destination, So
if you have an early morning flight, it possibly could be delayed or it
could be canceled, so you're goingto need to check on that before you
head out to the airport. Unclearhow long the ground stopped for other airlines
could last. Rounding comes after asignificant Microsoft out eagch brought Frontier Airlines and

(09:39):
some of their competitors to a standstillfor hours on Thursday, though the ground
stop for those airlines has since beenlifted. Earlier on Thursday, Frontier said
its systems had been impacted by theaudition offered refunds to inconvenience passengers. The
other competitors, including Allegiant and SunCountry, also said they were having difficulties,
including where they're booking, check inand trip managing thundunctions online. We're

(10:01):
also hearing that banks are having issues. I know my own personal bank.
The app is still working, butif you just go online and go to
their website, that is not working. So you may have a difficulty accessing
your bank this morning. And thereare several other things that could be impacted
by this as well. The companiesare all saying they're determined to find the
cause, they're working to fix it. No immediate response from them with a

(10:24):
direct quote on when they hope tohave everything fixed again, But again,
this could be an ongoing problem today. Yes, share it. American Airlines
has lifted its ground I said that. Okay, yeah, so yeah,
American has, but United in Deltaat this point have not. And again,
airports may be open, but thatdoes not mean that your flight will

(10:45):
be going to its destination. Soagain you'll need to check ahead if you
have a flight schedule for today orperhaps even for tomorrow, and make sure
that flight is still unscheduled. Fiveeleven time for traffic and whether together's we
check in again with Skymine. Allright, let's check your belts and loops
as we check out the north sidehere once again, it's a I forty
five. You've got the westbound,No nothing at the squeeze. In fact,

(11:05):
it's got the wicked curve Dude atforty five. This is north loop
six ten. Go on westbound ifyou're going from the airline side over past
the Farmer's Market. We look goodfrom TC Jester around this way and the
northeast corner where all the big rigsare truck stops at Wallaceville. Hey,
double check that for me. Makesure all of that's working there. Give
me some tip line. I'll giveyou the number shortly. And it looks

(11:26):
like over by the butt Plant,we're in good shape this way, oh,
I said, ship channel bridges.Let's take a quick spack quick scan
of the Hartman and you look goodboth sides of Baytown. You've got eight
lanes of fun there. Toll bridgesuckage hasn't started yet. Southbound six ten
from the Budplant to two twenty fiveis going show all the way down here,
Carrie. How can those lines onthe map be both blue and red?

(11:50):
That doesn't make any sense to me, because it's like red over the
ghetto house, but it's blue overin Sealy. I don't get it.
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Comtraffic Center from r katrh top tax Defenders
twenty four hour Weather Senator Terry Smithis here. We got a nice little
rain most of us yesterday morning.More rain coming, more rain coming.
In fact, I was just checkingthe rain arn. There was a cluster

(12:11):
of showers and storms up near Brenhamthat have been making their way south southward.
They made grays Rosenberg here shortly, and there's some rain off toward the
east. So the blue line isslowly kind of just hanging around. It's
stalled, so it's going to bethis alternating blue and red line for Skymike.

(12:33):
And because of the fact that it'shanging around, so does the rain.
We have a forty percent chance ofshowers and storms today and some of
that will be in the morning andmore in the afternoon, and a fifty
percent chance of showers and storms tomorrow, mainly in the afternoon. Load of
mid nineties today and tomorrow our rainchances increase. We're going to see a

(12:54):
series of disturbances make their way intosoutheast Texas Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday,
and that will help to knock thetemperatures into the upper eighties to low
nineties early next week. And thetemperature right now is seventy eight AD Your

Hulk cocing out there ripping a shirtoff to unveil his Trump Advans T shirt
underneath, I mean yeah, really, yeah, it's full of high energy.
He really fired it up. Yeahhe did. He did what he's
supposed to do. We'll share someof that with you coming up next,

Here on Houston's Morning News. Allright, Hulk Hogan last night,

(15:52):
that's the Hulkstert was at the RepublicanNational Convention there to fire up the crowd,
which he did. Well. Letme tell you something, brother,

(16:23):
You know something. When I camehere tonight, there was so much energy
in this room. I felt maybeI was in massive square garden getting ready
to win another world title, ormaybe I thought the vibe was so intense,
the energy was so crazy. Itfelt like maybe I was gonna press

(16:45):
that no good, stinky giant overmy head and slam him through the mat.
Brother. But what I found outwas I was in a room for
a real American's brother. And atthe end of the day, with our
leader up there, my hero, that Gladiator, We're gonna bring America back

(17:10):
together, one real American at atime. Brother. You know something,
I've seen some great tag teams inmy time, Hulk Hogan and ooh yeah,
the macho man Randy Savage of Quse. You know something, I see

(17:36):
the greatest tag team of my lifestanding upon us, getting ready to straighten
this country out for all the realAmericans. You know, you know,
you guys are real Americans. Youbetter get ready because when Donald Dick J.

(17:56):
Trump becomes the President of the UnitedStates, all the real Americans are
gonna be nicknamed Trump Heights because becauseall the Trump Bights are gonna be running
wild for four years. So withthe power of Donald J. Trump and

(18:18):
all the Trump Heights running wild,America, it's gonna get back on track.
And like Donald J. Trump said, America is gonna be great again.
There you go, the Holster whatthe Holster does? He got serious
too though, after all that myreal name is Terry, I forget his

(18:40):
last name is he announced? Yeah, And he did an interview earlier day
in Fox You know, in thisnormal persona, you know. And they
asked him and they said, you'venever been political before. Why why you
why why did you decide to cometo this And he said, I just
realized I can't I can't wait anymore. I got to you. You know,

(19:00):
I've got to stand up. Weall have to stand up. You
know. It's really amazing because he'sreferred to Gladiator. We've been talking,
Moyer. Now, this is sortof like an elevation. Yes, there's
a difference between Wayer and Gladiator.Maybe because definitely this is a guy who's
in the arena and all the forcesare aligned against it, have been against

(19:21):
Donald Trump. Yep, So maybeGladiator is better. Yeah, the lines
are all coming for but he keepsknocking aside. Yep. So far anyway,

morning. Everyone. Is now fivethirty two on news radio seven forty KTRH.

(22:19):
Our top story this hour. Youheard it here on KTRH. Donald
Trump, speaking for more than anhour and a half accepting the GOP nomination
in Milwaukee last night, he touchedon the border crisis, the murder of
a Houston girl last month by twovicious illegal aliens, josh Jocelyn Nungerai got

(22:40):
precious twelve year old girl from Houstonwho last month was tied up, assaulted,
and strangled to death after walking tothe convenience So just a block away
from her house, and Trump recountedhis own near death experience. I raised
my right arm looked at the thousandsand thousands of people that were breathlessly waiting

(23:03):
and started shouting fight, Fight,Fight. Trump paid tribute to the firefighter
who was killed in the attack, named the others who were injured now recovering,
he says in a moment of silent. It was revealed on stage that
the firefighter uniform, helmet and shieldof Corey Comparatory had been loaned by his

(23:23):
widow and family, whom Trump hadspoken with. Among other speakers last night,
former Fox host Tucker Carlson, Ithink it was divine intervention, but
the effect that it had on DonaldTrump. He was no longer just a
political party's nominee or a former presidentor a future president. This was the

(23:44):
leader of a nation. Yeah, legendary wrestler hul Cogan, you just heard
that from Jimmy over here, butalso UFC chief Dana White. He basically
introduced Trump came back from a vacationsomewhere around the world in order to be
there for the president, who ishis good friend. Republicans are united behind

(24:08):
Trump. Democrats, well, they'repretty much united in trying to push President
Joe Biden out of the race.According to multiple sources, several top Dems
now believe the pressure is so intense, so great, the eighty one year
old could be persuaded to drop outof the race as soon as this weekend.

(24:30):
Kevin Cork reporting there yet another SenatorDemocrat trying to save his own skin.
Montana Senator John Tester, in atough reelection campaign, is calling for
Biden to withdraw. House Speaker MikeJohnson, Republican, says, it's clear
that the Democrats are in total disarray. I think they're ready for him to
go because it has a terrible downballid effect. There won't be as a

(24:52):
big of a turnout on their side. They're terrified about that. They don't
know what to do. Johnson, with Kate r H's, Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton, it is now fivepoint thirty five political pandering, more welfare
handouts being labeled as a right thesedays. Constitution forget about it. The

(25:15):
border crisis is creating. The Constitutionwas designed to lay out basic, high
level principles, figuring that the eitherlower costs or people's common sense would dictate
a lot of the minutia, notexactly what is happening. That was Alan
Vieiffer with The American Thinker. Hesays, the life just turning the Constitution
into a step by step guide onhow we should all live our lives their

(25:38):
way, and their way means openborders. We've seen the largest population shift
in history in illegal immigration overseas andis happening here too. The border crisis
is creating population problems here in America. The number of people that entered the
country illegally during the Biden administration,if you put them all in one place,
in a brand new state, itwould be there would be eleven states

(26:00):
that have lower population. Breitbart's BobPrice told KTRH this is extremely unhealthy population
growth. You're seeing problems with lowincome housing, with wages being suppressed because
there's more competition for low end manuallabor type jobs prices. These are the
same issues that the United Kingdom ishaving, and we should be learning from
their mistakes. Ethan Buchanan News Radioseven forty KTRH. It's five point thirty

(26:23):
six. We've been telling you aboutthis global internet outage impacting millions this morning.
Several airlines, including United and Delta, are affected. CrowdStrike Now says
this is not a security problem, but a content update. We'll keep you
posted. Five thousand Centerpoint customers stillwithout power in the summer heat this morning.

(26:45):
And we've heard this before and nowwe hear it again. Will underground
power lines be the solution to ourweather related power outages? Sure it could
be, but it's not likely.Even if you live in a neighborhood that
has underground power lines, at somepoint your neighborhood is connected to power lines
that are above ground. That isFlorian Martin, reporter with the Houston Business

(27:08):
Journal. The other main underground issue. The cost putting lines underground is several
million dollars per mile, and ifyou put everything underground that is now aboveground,
you can you can only imagine howexpensive that would be. According to
the Center Point, around sixty percentof the households they serve already have underground

(27:30):
power lines. Jeff Biggs News Radioseven kth Fave thirty seven is our time.

that. The person going to rentthe property agrees that if something happens while

(27:51):

go a different route, which isa binding arbitration. It's a way too
strong arm someone so that no onewill know. This will be swept under

(28:33):
This is Houston's Morning News with JimmyParent and Sheriff Fryer. Is this politics
or is it something else? CenterpointEnergy tried to get a federal grant to
harden the electric grid here in Houston. They applied with the Department of Energy
for a federal grant of one hundredmillion dollars to harden our electric grid.

(28:57):
It was a competitive grand process, which means there are others who are going
for the money. And it wasup to these various different utilities to show
how they would use the money, how it would harden the grid, et
cetera, et cetera. In otherwords, tell us what you would do
and how it's going to improve things. They lost out on that. In
rejecting them, the Department of Energysaid, quote, the application does not

(29:22):
adequately lay out the project risks andhow those will be managed. They also
said the application is vague and howthe community engagement will involve going forward.
They also said the application does notadequately describe how economic and industry benefits from
grid hardening in these areas, besidesHouston being a major port city, and
on and on and on and on, And that would be the Biden Department

(29:42):
of Energy. Yes, So youknow, is it politics or is it
something that we've kind of seen forourselves here over the last week that maybe
they just aren't real good at pleadingtheir case. May maybe they didn't do
an adequate job of showing how theyhad a plan if they got one hundred
million dollars for making things better.Since Center Point is known for natural gas,

(30:06):
I would say I am suspicious,Okay, in this government, It's
fine to be suspicious. We've seenit before with democratic governments and how they
try to penalize Texas. Sure, sure, and I would be suspicious of
that as well. But I wouldalso be suspicious of Center Point because we've
also seen it. We're going tobe we're digging into They're not very good
at dotting not real good at dottingeyes and crossing teams. This was a
federal grant of one hundred million dollars. Do you think they're going to give

(30:30):
that? Well, then if theyif they' somebody who's primarily natural gas.
It's also it's also fair to askif they had gotten one hundred million dollar
grid, how that money would havebeen put to use and if it would
have really improved things at a timewhen the national they're trying to take over
our grid are independent grid. Don'tforget that five forty Now, time for
traffic and weather together. Sky Mike'sstanding, Mi, what you got.

(30:51):

They don't have a shot for me, but I've got this wreck al Lingenoah,

(35:00):
He's a Texas delegate. She wasthere for the republic republican excuse me,
national Convention. So which day wasthe high life for you, Felisha?
I think the whole thing was ahighlight. I've never seen a convention that
had so much entertainment, so much, so much information, so much.
I mean, it just had alittle something for everybody. It really did.

(35:23):
It was so amazing to be onthe floor, to be there with
all the energy, to meet delegatesfrom across the country and hear what they
had to say and what their impressionswere in their opinion was and it was
a big party more than anything else. I think that by the time we
got through the convention process, everybodyknew Donald Trupleve's candidate. We were all

(35:45):
coming off the new Saturday that hehad been shot, and it was just
a big relief to have the candidatelocked in, to have him live there.
We weren't mourning his loss or himbeing in the hospital. It has
just been transformational, I think fora lot of people in that room to
be there and see him be therestanding talking to everyone and not you know,

(36:12):
a situation that would have been farworse. Donald Trump has a unique
ability to connect with people and doesn'tmatter whether it's ten thirty, fifty thousand
at a time, he makes aconnection and you feel like it's personal.
I can't imagine that you didn't feelthat, oh, oh, absolutely.
And the care that the convention andthe campaign had taken with us delegates and

(36:36):
to give us opportunities to meet himor at least be in the room and
listen to him speak. Ahead ofthis, he came every night to the
convention to be there. It wasjust I can't even explain how people were
so moved at the stories that hewould tell, or the stories that other

(36:59):
people coming to speak for him wouldtell. The whole room every time he
would be in it would be abuzz with energy. And also people felt
that he understood them. You know, it kind of felt, Felicia like
the assassination attempt was a real bigreset button for Donald Trump. I thought

(37:19):
he came across last night as beingsympathetic, empathetic. He was kind in
many cases, he was emotional inmany cases. We saw a lot of
fat facets of Donald Trump last nightthat he doesn't normally show us right.
And people always have been misled aboutthis, you know, violent rhetoric or

(37:42):
something like this. It's as thoughsomething switched when Donald Trump won the last
time, and all the people whohad just indulged him before had to attack
him, and they had to findanything they could do to criticize him,
to complain about whatever it was thathe might have said and twisted and something
like that, and people that Ispoke to over and over again believe that

(38:05):
he got a poor shake from themedia from day one, and so there's
a lot of forgiveness and a lotof indulgence that people have for things that
he might say, the words thathe might use. We know Donald Trump
now, he's a known quantity, and so a lot of the things that
people have been criticizing him with itjust doesn't resonate with people the way it

(38:29):
used to. I think there's anelement of that too. Well. We're
seeing some Democrat voters who saying they'renot swayed. They're tired of hearing about
what he did. They want toknow what he's going to do. And
I'm thinking, where are you livingunder a rock? I mean, his
twenty twenty statements of what he willdo, what he said last night,
what he will do on day one. I mean, the mainstream media is

(38:52):
still pulling the wool over their eyes. Oh indeed, And I will tell
you the Trump campaign is so muchbetter about messaging this time around, at
least in my opinion. When I'mlooking at the kind of signs that they
had for the floor make housing affordableagain, that's a clear message, Make

(39:12):
America wealthy again. That's a clearmessage, more opportunity that things like fire.
Joe Biden, make America great againis one of the most remember,
remarkable and memorable slogans you could haveeven last night, bring back common sense.
This campaign has distilled the message downso well that some of the noise

(39:35):
that the media or left is createdis not going to get through this time
well. And maybe best of all, the Republicans are not the Party of
unity and the Democrats are the Partyof dis array. How times have changed.

First, with faith and devotion,I proudly accept your nomination for President

(41:52):
closing out the Republican Convention, aninety two minute long speech he gave
talking about the attempted assassination on himlast Saturday, the only time he says
he will speak at this level aboutit. I heard a loud whizzing sound

(42:15):
to myself, Wow, what wasthat happen? He paid tribute to the
firefighter who was killed, the rallygoer, Corey Comparatore, who died protecting
his family in the stands. Theycan't compensate. They all said, the
same thing. You're right, sir, We appreciate so much what you're doing,
but nothing can take the place.Yeah, he talked about talking with

Democrat Party well. This suggests thatmembers of Generation Z, particularly the younger

the Biden administration and Democrats by leaningmore towards the Republican Party. Rice's Mark

(44:28):

all of this with Gen Z.Six oh five is our time. There's
a global internet outage forcing the FAAhere to issue ground stops for several major

(44:52):
Sydney, Australia to Boston, Massachusettsto London, England. Rare to see
such a global outage like this persistingseveral hours. We have calls to the
FBI to see what's being done here, but as we can tell, this
is strictly software related. Yeah, the CEO of crowd Strike says this is
actually because of a content update. This is not a security assault. We'll

(45:15):
see interest rate cuts proposed by theFed this year could be a welcome sign
to some, but it could overallspell disaster for our economy. It is
going to be another sugar high forWall Street. It is going to be
another round of the stock market exploding. And that looks great for advertising purposes
for the politician, but in termsof improving the everyday life of the average

(45:37):
American, it's just not going tohelp. Ej Antni with a heritage foundation,
he says the only inflation to solutionto inflation is to raise rates to
bring them down. That maybe it'sjust too late. What did the third

(45:57):
Rate says thirty four percent of surveyto America and workers are living paycheck to
paycheck. We wanted to focus specificallyon workers, because they're the people who
are doing everything right, but yetthey still feel like they're having trouble making
in me. Bankry analyst Sarah Fostersays, this isn't really new news,
but it's still not fun news either. We know Americans, we're living paycheck
to paycheck long before inflation surge,so to say that this is an inflation

(46:22):
phenomena would really be kind of oversimplifyingit. Generation X and millennials as well
as Southerners are most likely to feelthis way. Jared Lewis, news radio

ten, Oh, is Joe readyto go? A lot of stories about
that. Joe evidently soul searching inDelaware. That's one story I'm looking at.
Soul searching. Yeah, that's whathe's doing. The heat is on
just about every major Democrat party memberis telling him he's got to go,

(47:54):
including Barack Obama, because the heatis on them. Yes, he's got
to go. Blame it on Joe, the guy that they've propped up and
hidden for so long. Exactly right. So the question the question is twofold.
Number one, when does he decideto go? The reports are that
he could decide before the end ofthe weekend. And number two, what
does he want before he goes?Because that's probably the waiting game they're playing

(48:17):
right now. Well, has heever done anything that he didn't get a
better deal? For his family.Exactly right. There's whether we're talking about
money, pardon for Hunter, apardon for Hunter, let's see here,
well, maybe some others, theambassadorship for Jill, maybe doctor Jill.
Yeah, I wonder what are theygoing to do for Jill because she's lacking
what she's doing, exactly right. So the thing of it is that it

(48:37):
just shows you the party controls everything. Forget about the voters. The voters
don't count anymore, certainly not inthe Democrat Party. No, twelve million
people voted for him. He hasthose delegates. Those are his delegates.
But now you've got the Obama atObama's and the party because they're scared to
death that they're going to lose theirhold on power, exactly right. So

(49:00):
the announcement by the weekend, thequestion becomes whether they do next Kamala Harris
or do they just have an openconvention? That would be my back open
convention making maneuver. There you go, So I'll be a dog and pony
show though the party's in control.Well and tell me you won't want to

seven KTRH six twenty three is ourtime here in Houston's warning news. But
it's got a lot of art.Is getting ready to spend twenty five million
dollars more on art because the cityhas a Civic Art Ordinance that requires that
one point seventy five percent of thetotal budget it costs for capital improvement projects

(54:37):
be spent on acquiring or conserving art. Charles Blaine joins US president at Urban
Reform, So it's built in thecity charter at this point, Charles,
instead of voting for twenty five milliondollars for art, how about we vote
to repeal the ordinance. Let's let'sstart with that. Well, good morning,
and I completely agree with you.I mean, it's it's truly absurd

(55:00):
to think that there is an ordinancerequiring this amount to be spent on art.
And the way it works is thatthis one point seventy five percent is
required for any capital improvement project budget. So think you know, a new
fire station or the redevelopment of afire station or something like that. They
got to take that total budget andone point seventy five percent of that has
to be spent on civic art.It is absolutely crazy. Yeah, instead

(55:22):
of generators exactly. I mean, you know, we heard many times throughout
the course of not just Hurricane Barrel, but even before that, when there
was the flooding up in Kingwood aboutthe need for generators for fire stations and
things like that, and you know, it's frustrating to hear. I will
say that there is a little bitof hope. So there is not a

(55:42):
conservative majority on Council. So weknow the conservative council members have a hard
time there, but they did fightthis effort and they were successfully able to
reduce it from twenty five million tofifteen million. So while it's not the
biggest, the biggest drop council memberFred Flickinger, who represents the king Wood
and clear Lake area fourth and Amendment, to get them to reduce it,
and he was successful in that effort. What is it that city council doesn't

(56:07):
understand about what their job is atthis point? Even the liberal members,
I mean clearly they see we haveproblems that we are underfunded in many different
areas, and we have a citythat's falling apart, a city whose budget
is completely out of whack. Wheredo they think the money comes from?
You know, I think a lotof them just forget that the money comes
from us. And it was interestingwatching the hearing on this because the vice

(56:30):
mayor, she's a Democrat who wasselected by the mayor, she was kind
of being condescending to taxpayers who cameup there to complain about this. You
had a number of people saying,we have all these needs across the city.
We have communities that are ignored police. Don't spend this money on art
spend it on other things. Andthe way that she would speak to them
saying that, you know, thereare other people who have needs too,

(56:52):
and a lot of the artists haveneeds and it's up to us to help
them. It's economic development. Wegot to lure people to this work.
We're in the business of supplementing starvingartists. Now, yes we are.
And who are those artists and howare they selected? You know, this
is just more of spending money toyour buddies, delivering it to your buddies
who help you get elected. Imean, it really is, because you

(57:15):
know, we're not selecting that,are you and I We're not on a
panel selecting that, And we don'treally even get to pick who is on
the panel selecting that. But wedo have to deal with what they select,
and we see it around the cityall the time, and so it
is really frustrating and it is usuallya gift to people's buddies. I'll say
though, that another upside that aminor upside that came out of this is

(57:35):
that because council members, because theConservative council members finally realized that this was
going on, there was another pushagain from Fred Flickeninger and another council member,
Julian Ramirez, to actually bring upthis ordinance for a review, because
it hasn't been reviewed since it waspassed, and so they're pushing to reconsider
if we're going to actually keep doingthis, and so they're gonna need some
help on that going forward, becauseyou know, obviously they're out numbered at

(57:57):
council. But I'm excited that thisconversation least starting because it's absolutely ridiculous.
Wellt's keep the pressure on. Thankyou, sir, appreciate it. Charles

Donald Trump live on KTRH last nightaccepting the Republican Party nomination in Milwaukee.
Any pay tribute to the family littleHouston girl Joscelyn Nunger II, the twelve
year old murdered by two illegal alienshere in June. Because recently I spoke
to the grieving mother of Joscelyn Nungary, a wonderful woman, a precious twelve

(01:01:15):
year old girl from Euston, andTrump, on his near death experience,
moved my right hand to my ear, brought it down. My hand was
covered with blood, just absolutely bloodall over the place. I immediately knew
it was very serious that we wereunder attack. Trump paid tribute to the

(01:01:38):
firefighter who was killed in that attack. Corey Comparatore's funeral is today. Among
other speakers last night, uf Cbass Dana White, I'm not telling you
what choice to make, and I'mnot telling you what to think. I'm
telling you what I know. Iknow America needs a strong leader in the

(01:01:58):
world needs. White and Trump arevery close friends, and Trump attends many
UFC pay per view events has foryears. Publicly, Joe Biden maintains he's
going to stay in the race forthe White House, but privately is a
different story. Privately, apparently he'sresigned to the fact that there's not only
mounting pressure, there are bad pollsand an untenable amount of scrutiny on his

(01:02:22):
age, making it impossible to continuethe campaign now. Behind the scenes,
according to axio's top leaders in theparty want you to give it up,
including former President Obama, Yeah foxIs Kevin gork reporting there, and now
Montana's Senator John Tester. He's ina tough reelection campaign. Has gone public
he's a Democrat, the latest oneto publicly call for Biden to drop out.

(01:02:45):
We want to save our own skins. Democrat disarray a welcome site for
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson. Ihad two whole days unimpeded where I could
walk through the hallways without being accostedby media. Where are they? Oh,
they're chasing the Democrats for a chance. They had to introduce themselves to
our Democrat colleagues. They never askedthem tough questions. I called Hakem Jeffrey's

(01:03:06):
my friend, the Democrat leader.I said, how's it feel gro you
know? Jos said with kaj h'sKlay Travis and Buck Sexton, it's now
six thirty four. Well, ourconstitution has supported us for over two hundred
years, close to two hundred andfifty now, but the left once more
new fake rights. Yes, theywant to put stress on the system that

(01:03:28):
our constitution actually created. This stresson our system comes from trying to read
things into the Constitution. We wantto define the limits of everyone's existence in
finite detail. Never was intended tobe there. We're a nation of free
people. Alan Pfeiffer with The AmericanThinker says political pandering is also complicating the
constitution, where they're pandering to people'sworst desires, like not having to work

(01:03:52):
and getting free things. Millions ofpeople live for free thanks Those free things
are then labeled as rights, andpolitical debates end up becoming Supreme Court cases.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KRH. They call it migration open borders
between the year twenty twenty two andtwenty three. We're done. Just in
a year's time, over six hundredand ten thousand people migrated, as they

(01:04:15):

seen under Joe Biden. When itdrives the prices of housing up, it
drives the prices of commodities up becausethere's more demand and the supply can't keep

the Houston Business Journal says well,we already have more underground lines than we

(01:05:25):
actually thought. Centerpoint told me thatabout sixty percent of their customers are served
by underground power lines in the GreaterHouston area, which most of that is
newer neighborhoods. Yeah, what aboutall those older lines that are above ground,
those old wooden poles. Well,we find out it would cost several

millions of dollars per mile to burythem. It's six thirty six. A
new report unveils some pretty frightening privacyconcerns when you rent Airbnb. In a

(01:07:18):
last night to introduce President Trump andgot a little personal shared a text that
President Trump had sent to him, which I think probably tells you a lot
about what kind of guy President Trumpreally is. Dana, I'm so honored
that you will be doing the introductionat the National Republican Convention. Think of

(01:07:40):
it as the biggest fight you everhad, a fight for our country and
even the world. I only wishyou didn't have to interrupt your family trip
but I hope they understand. Theylove you, and they know how important
this is. Now, think aboutthis man's running for president of the United
States. He's fighting for the futureof this country, and he's concerned about

(01:08:05):
interrupting my family trip. That's thePresident Trump that I know, a man
who truly cares about people. Themainstream media likes to push the narrative that
he doesn't care about anyone but himself. Absolutely know that's not the truth because

(01:08:27):
I've been friends with this guy fortwenty five years, and for the people
who know me, they'll know thisis true. I just want to make
something very clear. Nobody in theTrump campaign has ever told me what to
say. Nobody tells me what tosay, and I'm nobody's puppet, and

(01:08:50):
I'm not telling you what to think. I'm telling you what I know,
and I know President Trump. Iknow President Trump is a fighter. I've
been saying this since twenty fifty. Now look at what's happened over the last
ten years. We have all seenit with our own eyes. I'm in

(01:09:11):
the tough guy business, and thisfan is the toughest, most resilient human
being that I've ever met in mylife. The higher the stakes, the
harder he fights, and this guynever ever gives up. So what's a
stake here? The answer is inPresident Trump's text and I quote, a

(01:09:34):
fight for our country. I knowwhy he's running for president again. Why
else would he put himself through everythinghe's dealt with just to get back here.
We all know he doesn't need this. This guy's got a great life.
He has a beautiful family, andhe has achieved everything that you could
possibly achieve in life. I knowPresident Trump is literally putting his life on

(01:09:59):
the line for something bigger than himself, and he's willing to risk it all
because he loves this country. Thereyou go pretty well, said I'd say,
yeah, Dana White, UFC sakesforty one time for traffic and weather

I've got West Sam southbound. That'sgoing to be around the Little York

Terry Smith is here and uh soit's kind of a mixed bag.

(01:11:28):
I think today probably looks a lotlike yesterday weatherwise, doesn't it. Yes,
it's very similar. We had someshowers and storms early in the day
yesterday and they had a break, then a little bit of rain later on.
I think today's kind of the samesetup. We are looking at some
rain to the north and east ofHouston, up around Kingwood and Liberty,
and then some rain off to thewest. It's a forty percent chance of

(01:11:49):
those showers and thunderstorms today. Overthe course of the day, we'll see
some sunshine too, loadavid nineties today, a fifty percent chance of those thunderstorms
tomorrow. Rain chance is increasing startingSunday into Monday and Tuesday. Widespread rain,
heavy rain possible through early next week, and so we're going to be

out. Usually have it on allday at work, so check in office

(01:34:03):
Republican National Commission and we no doubtwill in Trump's space. Well, that's
sure, but before we do that, I find what's going on on the
left even more interesting for the moment, because there's a coup underway. Nancy
Pelosi, Barack Obama, they're allbehind it. Right now. You've got
Joe Biden's inner circle has shrunk downto maybe Jill and Hunter and that's about

(01:34:24):
it. And it would appear thatthey are trying to talk him into peacefully
giving up his run for president, joining us to talk about Chris Bagala.
Chris, I think you foresaw thiscoming. I think we all kind of
foresaw it coming. But now it'sreally happening. You know, Yeah,
it is, and I think it'sinevitable. I just thought when we talked,

(01:34:45):
I don't know, a year anda half ago or two years ago
or so, I thought it wouldbe around March of this year that they
could usher President Biden out give thethen president. He would step aside,
somebody else would come in, whetherit be Kamala or maybe Michelle Obama,
they'd be president and run as president. Now that still could happen. It's

(01:35:09):
possible that President Biden will not juststep aside on the ticket. He could
step aside and resign, and thatway Kamala Harris or somebody else could then
step in and run as the presidentof the United States against the former president
of the United States, Donald Trump. But you know, it's just unbelievable.

(01:35:30):
The party that says Donald Trump willtake away democracy. They have engaged
in somebody who's not even president beingthe president who's calling the shots, I
think is the question everybody should beasking, but whatever it's gonna happen,
and I think it's it's you knowwhat, I don't know, ninety eight

(01:35:53):
percent chance President Biden will step asidein a few days. Million Democrats,
million Democrats, fourteen million Democrats votedfor him, and their votes don't matter,
do they No, they don't,and it's it's it doesn't matter,
and that's not right. And youknow, look, it was what three

(01:36:14):
three and a half weeks ago thateverything was great, all quiet up the
Western front, no problem. Wegot a great president. He's sharp and
focused and oh my gosh, youcan't believe how active he is, and
all the cabinet meetings and whatnot.Of course none of that's true. And
now all of a sudden they're goingto have to move him out what we

(01:36:36):
thought all along. But you know, it's staggering when you take a step
back and you think about that they'regoing to remove the president because they got
caught and everybody else, even thoughthey knew it, but the media and
the Democrats were still trying to tellAmerica and the rest of the world that
President Biden was fine, when ofcourse he was done. Chris, I've

(01:36:57):
got to ask you this because wedon't have a lot of time. The
chaos that has ensued in the DemocratParty visible now very wine to see is
what Americans have felt under this entireregime, and even before while Donald Trump
was president, the chaos and theDemocrats brought after watching that convention and how
well managed it was in this senseof this is a man who was almost

(01:37:19):
assassinated, and yet that convention wentoff and it was it was controlled,
and yet it was spontaneous at thesame time, it was amazing. It
gave us a feel for the wayAmerica should be and could be. How
are the Democrats ever going to overcomethat? You know, that's a great

(01:37:39):
question and obviously very perceptive. Ithought the same thing. I thought that,
you know, of course, alot of it's theater and what those
people were real. That African Americanlady who spoke about her son getting stabbed
in New York City after fighting inIraq and she said that was not right.
The Hispanic woman who said I camehere legally and we want to do

(01:38:00):
what's right, she was real.Eric Trump, Laura Trump, of course,
I mean it goes on and on. Yes, it was an incredible
week, and it stands juxtaposed tothe Democrats. And I don't think this
fighting is over either. Jimmy andSherry. You know, they're not just
going to get into a room andsay, oh yeah, it's fine.
They are going to go hammer andtong and it is going to take a

(01:38:24):
while. And of course by thetime their party comes around for their convention,
they'll act like everybody's together. Butthat's just not possible. The Republicans
did a great job. My hat'soff to Lara Trump and everyone else.
It was emotional. I had tearsin my eyes listening to those gold Star
families. President Trump last night wasmoving. It was very very well done.

(01:38:47):
And I think you saw a partyand a candidate one hundred percent in
lockstep and telling America we can getback to where we were. Yep.
It's amazing. The party that wasin disarray, or they thought was in
disarrays, the party now that isunited. Is the other party that is
in disarray. Chris Bagala, alwaysgood to talk to you, sir.
Thank you. It is seven twentyseven. It is time to take a

You heard it here on KTRH.Donald Trump speaking for more than an
hour and a half accepting the RepublicanParty nomination in Milwaukee last night, touching

(01:41:26):
on our border crisis, keep ourfamily safe. The Republican platform promises to
launch the largest deportation operation in thehistory of our country, day one,
he promises. Trump, looking backalso at the assassination attempt from last weekend
and the other victims. I askedthat we observe a moment of silence in

(01:41:49):
honor of our friend Corey Trump, paying specific tribute to the firefighter who was
killed in the attack and also namingthe others who were injured. Among other
speakers last night, the legendary HulkHogan, I see the greatest tag team
of my life standing upon us,getting ready to straighten this country out for

(01:42:12):
all the real Americans, real Americans. UFC Chief Dana White there and Tucker
Carlson spoke as well, and Foxactually showed him. So what was it
like on the convention floor last night? Was just a big relief to have
the candidate locked in, to havehim live there. We weren't mourning his

(01:42:33):
loss or him being in the hospital. Texas Delegate Felicia Craven, She was
on Houston Morning News earlier today.Republicans united with Trump. Democrats, Well,
they're united in trying to get thepresident that they put there, Joe
Biden, out of the race.According to multiple sources, several top Dems

(01:42:55):
now believe the pressure is so intense, so great, the eighty one year
year old could be persuaded to dropout of the race as soon as this
weekend. Kevin Cork reporting on theDemocrat panic. Another top Democrat coming out
against Biden is the Montana Senator JohnTester. He's facing a tough reelection campaign
in Montana, and he went publiccalling for Biden to withdraw. How Speaker

(01:43:20):
Mike Johnson says, well, it'spretty clear that the Dems are in total
disarray. I think they're ready forhim to go because it has a terrible
down ballid effect. There won't beas a big of a turnout on their
side. They're terrified about that. They don't know what to do. Johnson
with Katie RHUs Klay Travis, andBuck Sexton. It's now seven thirty four.

(01:43:40):
You call this political pandering. Forsure, more welfare handouts being labeled
as a right these days, doesn'tmatter whether the Constitution provides. The Constitution
was designed to lay out basic, high level principles, figuring that the either
lower costs or people common sense woulddictate a lot of the minutia. Yeah,

(01:44:03):
Alan Pfeiffer says that the American Thinkerof the American thinker says that the
left, they've been turning the Constitutioninto a step by step guide on how
to live our lives their way,and their way means open borders. We've
had the largest population shifts in historyacross the globe with illegal immigration. The

(01:44:27):
border crisis is creating population problems herein America. The number of people that
entered the country illegally during the Bidenadministration, if you put them all in
one place, in a brand newstate, it would be there would be
eleven states that have lower population.Breitbart's Bob Price told KTRH this is extremely
unhealthy population growth. You're seeing problemswith low income housing, with wages being

(01:44:48):
suppressed because there's more competition for lowend manual labor type jobs prices. These
are the same issues that the UnitedKingdom is having and we should be learning
from their mistakes. Ethan Buchanan. There's radio seven forty KTRH, seven thirty
six now nearly five thousand Center Pointcustomers without air conditioning in this summer heat
still this morning. We've heard itbefore, now we're hearing it again.

(01:45:13):
Would underpower lines underground power lines bea solution to Houston's weather related power outages?
Sure it could be, but it'snot likely. Even if you live
in a neighborhood that has underground powerlines, at some point your neighborhood is
connected to power lines that are aboveground. That is Florian Martin, reporter

(01:45:34):
with the Houston Business Journal. Theother main underground issue. The cost putting
lines underground is several million dollars permile, And if you put everything underground
that is now above ground, youcan you can only imagine how expensive that
would be. According to the CenterPoint, around sixty percent of the households

(01:45:55):
they serve already have underground power lines. Jeff Bigs News Radio seven KTRH.

was on last night and she's talkingabout her experience going from the Department of
Corrections into a teaching position. Guesswhich one she found worse. The teaching

(01:47:29):
profession. During my fourteen years workingwith the Department of Public Safety, offenders
never laid a hand on me.Yet I was violently assaulted by a group
of students in a public high school. The uptick is school violence was related

(01:48:00):
to an Obama Biden policy that directedschools to reduce suspension rates and key dangerous
students in the classroom. President Trumpreverse the Obama policy and put the safety

(01:48:28):
of our kids first. While Democratsthe school resource officers are a threat to
our students, Republicans knows that theyprotect our kids. While Democrats won't admit

(01:48:54):
that our schools are felling. Republicanswill fix the system and make our schools
safe. That's why this year, for the first time in my life,
I am Rechtan as a Republican.Thank you, Thank you, And in

think today and tomorrow are your betteropportunities to get outside because the rain chances
really do ramp up Sunday and intoearly next week. It's going to be
a long stretch of rain. Soyeah, go outside, get some vitamin

be hanging around. We've got aseventy percent chance of thunderstorms Sunday, eighty

(01:51:43):
percent chance of more rain Monday andTuesday, and it will be a little
bit cooler. I guess that's theupside of all the rain, uper eatings

was there, Yes, he was, and Fox showed him and he talked
about leadership, and I thought hedid a very good job with that,
so I thought we'd share that withyou coming up next. But first we've
got traffic in Weather together with skyMike starting off. Yeah, we've got

(01:52:30):

Whatever it was, it wasn't therevery long. It's a little thick now
coming down from two to ninety anda bit of a smash if anything on
the west Loop southbound. But youknow what, if this is your route,
stay the course here. No bigproblem to twenty five. That's been
a problem. It's over two hoursAlan Genoa. We're still taking out a

(01:54:21):
three years their time here in Houston'sboy News. So Tucker Carlson last night
at the Republican National Convention talking abouthow the assassination attempt really kind of changed
everything and maybe for some people itchanged the way they view Donald J.
Trump. He hates to say it, but it is also true. Is
a fact that you could take Idon't know, a manic at a dead
person in making president. If youknow you could, you could. I'm

(01:54:45):
just saying theoretically possible, with enough, with enough cheating, that could happen.
But being a leader is very different. It's not a title. It's
organic. You can't name someone aleader. A leader is the bravest man.

(01:55:09):
That's who the leader is. Thatis true in all human organizations.
This is a law of nature. And in that moment, Donald Trump,
months before the presidential election, becamethe leader of this nation. That was
the most obvious to me. AndI have to say, you know,

(01:55:29):
I think it changed him. Iyou know, reached out to Trump within
hours of it that night, andwhat he said to me that night,
having justin shot in the face,he said not a single word about himself.
He said only how amazed he wasand how proud he was of the
crowd which didn't run. And Ithought two things. The first thing I

(01:55:53):
thought was, well, of coursethey didn't run. His courage gave them
heart. A leader's courage, hegives courage to his people. And the
second thing I thought was, thisis the selfish guy I've been hearing about
for nine years really not a wordabout himself about his people period. And

(01:56:14):
the second thing I noticed, whichI don't think anyone has remarked upon in
public, but I'm just going tosince I'm a script, like why not,
is that he turned down the mostobvious opportunity in politics, to inflame
the nation after being shot, toinflame the nation, which is an opportunity
that almost every other politician I've evermet, and certainly his opponents would have
taken instantly, and they would havesaid, well, what is this?

(01:56:38):
How did he get shot? Like, how did this happen? And those
are real questions that we have toget to the bottom of. But in
the moments, the days, theweek after the shooting, he did not
say that he did his best tobring the country together, and I thought,
this is the divisive figure, thisis the irresponsible person. Know,
this is the most responsible, unifyingbehavior of a leader I think I've ever

(01:57:01):
seen. There you go, Hey, listen, I'm heading off on vacation.
Yes you are. I'm going tomiss a really interesting week next week.
Yes you are. Well. Ifyou spot anything on your journey,
just call in let us know.I will I will be are a reporter.
I'll be a reporter on the Eastcoast. Yeah, from the beach.
From the beach. We'll see what'shappening in the beach. Bob France

(01:57:24):

hands. I'll see a week fromMonday. Have a good vacation. I
will thank you. You'll take care
