(01:51):
There's going to be millions of dollarsworth of stuffs that are going to need
to be fixed. Rain gone. These communities, though impacted, by flooding
north of Houston. Now in themiddle of cleanup, we're going to begin
going in to the communities and we'regoing to be assessing damages. We have
to do that in order to applyfor federal reimbursement and help on all this

(02:12):
stuff. Lookgomory Kennedy, Jege Marcillothere. He'll be joining Houston's Morning News
at seven twenty this morning. TheSan Jacenta River not expected to fall below
the flood level until Thursday. Inthe Sheldon area, the west fork of
the San Jack and Humble should bebelow the flood level by Wednesday. Parts
of the Trinity River have crested, but the Moss Bluff area won't crest until

(02:35):
tomorrow afternoon. High water rescues continuingacross the Greater Houston area. A woman
drove into high water after ignoring instructionsfrom firefighters. You should have stayed there
where you're at, Man, whatshould I do? Told you drive and
you asked me I have to goback. I didn't wait to come back.
No, man, we told yougot to drive your car. Yes.

(02:57):
At rescue caught on tape by ourTV partner channel. There have been
hundreds of high water rescues over thelast week. Among the school districts closed
today, Channel View in Dayton,ISD is a complete list at KTRH dot
com. We know of one deathfrom flooding in the state. A five
year old boy died swept away bywaters in Johnson County. That's south of
Fort Worth. It is now fiveo three. Rojamas anti Israel protests returned

(03:28):
to the UT also happens yesterday. No one was arrested at that demonstration,
unlike others over the last two weekswhen dozens were arrested after confronting police and
DPS troopers. Elsewhere, a Palestinianflag was hoisted above the encampment at George
Washington University in DC. A statueof this nation's first president was defaced.

(03:50):
George Washington defaced with flags and stickers, and Washington is now wearing a Palestinian
Scarfleadership called out for being cowards andresponding to these demonstrations. Jean Burke with
college prep genius as the problem startsmuch earlier than college, though I think
that it goes back to the highschool. Even earlier. Kids would have

(04:13):
strong belief systems they're going to beswayed one way together. Whatever sounds good,
where it comes along, They're goingto jump on it. She says.
The answer is school choice, whereparents have more say so. After
another round of negotiations with Hamas failed, Israel now telling civilians in Rafa,
that area of Gaza to evacuate. They're planning their military action in that part

(04:35):
of the occupied land of Hamas. The accounting trial of Donald Trump begins his
fourth week this morning in Manhattan.I believe this is election interference, plain
and simple. I don't think thiscase has any legal basis whatsoever, Trump
attorney will sharf on Fox. Thetrial has several more weeks. Trump will

(04:57):
have to be locked up in thatcourtroom before it wraps. He's now calling
meantime for the arrest of the SpecialCouncil Jack Smith. It's because the FBI
the National Archives got caught sending intampering with documents that they confiscated in the
mar A Lago raid. Oh yeah. The DOJ had to admit, under
a Foyer request that some of theevidence is no longer in its original form

(05:21):
either on true Social Trump called prosecutorJack Smith a criminal. Trump told Time
Magazine in an op ed that hewould deport nearly twenty million illegal aliens who've
invaded our country. Can he fixwhat Joe Biden broke if Trump wins reelection?

(05:42):
Thankfully, this is an area wherethe law is clear and the answer
is yes. Under the statutory delegationsfrom Congress, the president has brought authority
to manage our orders in the administrationof overall immigration law. So it's a
very broad authority. Dan Stein, with fair says we should really be looking
at who opposes border security and whythe court system has been used effectively by
groups like the ACLU to delay theprocess by getting these injunctions. Stein says,

(06:08):
at the end of the day,all we need is a president who's
willing to do the things that wealready know work. Ethan Bchennon News Radio
seven forty ktr each Some contenders forTrump's running mate were at a retreat in
Florida this weekend. I hope thatthe President will choose a person who helps
the country unite and heal. Icertainly expect to have a decision from President

(06:30):
Trump in the next sixty days orso. South Carolina Senator Tim Scott one
of those attending on NBC's Meet thePress, Big Tech once again showing its
bias in the twenty twenty four campaign. Google, however, got shamed.
They had to go ahead and runmake America Great Again pack ad showing how
life was better under Trump. Googleoriginally banned it. Local election results.

(06:57):
Molly Cook beats Jarvis Jocks Johnson inthat special election to fill the rest of
Houston now Houston Mayor John Whitmyer's termin the state Senate. Now. The
two will be in a runoff laterthis month for the November general election for
the full term that begins next year. Looking at our money, more Americans
told ABC News they trust Trump morethan Biden when it comes to the economy,

(07:20):
and boy was at a shock tomainstream media. This nostalgia for the
Trump years is something that I wouldsay about the the economy nostalgia I heard
from Democrats even which was really shockingto me Lay Democrats, remembering how good
they thought their four oh one kwas obviously well paid. MPR reporter Ozma
Khalid, she was on ABC's ThisWeek tougher to save her retirement. Now

(07:44):
because of the Biden economy and inflation, money expert Derrick Kenney says many don't
follow basic savings recommendations until it's toolate. Then they realize, oh my
gosh, I don't have enough money. And what it forces them often to
do is go back to work atthe time they least want to go back
to work. He says, planningnow helps avoid headaches later. Five.

(08:07):
Oh, wait is our time. The Strows lose to the Mariners five to
four. They visit the Yankees tonight. Pregame at five on Sports Talk seven
ninety the first pitch six O five, and then kt r H will join
all that in progress at seven.I'm Sheriff Fryar on News Radio seven forty
KTRH. This is Houston's Morning Newswith Jimmy Parent and Sheriff Fryar. Oh

(08:30):
Bible nine at time, you're onJustin's Morning News. All right. The
supercomputer is on a simulation given currentdata and predictive future data for you,
things like like carbon in the atmosphereand all the other stuff junk in,
junk out, garbage in, garbageout. But even with garbage in garbage
out, Sheriff Fryar, they're notpredicting an n to humanity in the next

(08:52):
ten years, the next twenty years, the next fifty years the next one
hundred years cared to gains. Howmany more years they think humanity has left
to hear on good old planet Earthbefore we blow the whole deal five hundred,
two hundred and fifty million. Anyonewith any sense would add the millions

(09:16):
to it. But I thought no, considering that they would try to have
AI determine this. Yeah, Imean if they if they're trying to put
a bum's rush on us, youknow, to go all woken, you
know, carbon neutral and all thatother stuff. If we did absolutely nothing,
we have minimally two hundred and fiftymillion years left on Earth before we
have to do everything face extinction, everything remained exactly, yeah, which it

(09:41):
never does. All kinds of variables, don't they They can they can predict
what happened learning how to how toincrease well, they can predict what happened
to h fifty million years ago,but you can't predict what's going to happen
over the course of the next twohudred and fifty million. Yeah, it's
not like we're static. Yeah,So anyway, I just thought you should
know that you miss discounting. Godif you're even if you're a big believer

(10:03):
in the whole climate change thing. It's okay. You, you, your
kids, your kids, kids, your kids, kids, kids, skates
kids. You can keep going fora long long time before we have to
worry about this five to ten timefor traffic. I may be able to
retire by then. Yes, thinkof what your far ol cable worth.
In two undred and fifty million years, I should be a thousand eire and
I'm wanted by the tollway now,by the way, so that's about to

(10:24):
get ugly. That'll be a fundrama to talk about this week. Let's
do the big grand scheme of thingshere. Six to ten northeastbound at Airlines.
That is some kind of wreck inthe front of road. It's funny
the online say four frontite road lanes. There are not four frontitge road lanes
there. See, this is whyyou get your traffic from AM radio live
in Houston by a person that's beennear by, what twenty five years whatever.

(10:46):
You've got flooding on iten east atMonmouth. You saw that on TV.
I wonder who was filming it EastFreeway Monmouth right over by the truck
stops. Unless you're crabbing that won'taffect you. And we do have fourteen
eighty five and New Caney shut downstill over the San Jacino River Bridge.
That's not going anywhere anytime soon. You've got the East Tex feeder at the

(11:07):
San Jacento River and unless you're parkingto fish, that's not really affecting you
here. I'm worried about some ofthese backroads like twenty eight fifty four just
to the west of Conrope and alsoone oh five. You're high and dry
from what I can understand. Ifyou're up in Liberty County, you've got
some FBIM closures, but it lookslike three twenty one's getting five just fine.
This is where I can use yourhelp out there because there's a lot

(11:30):
of these spots I can't see.Tell me what's flooded, tell me what's
not passable that affects a lot ofpeople. Here's your tip line ready seven
one three two one two tips Terry. I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com
traffic Center from r KTRH Top TaxDefenders twenty four hour Whether Center, Terry
Smith is here. Seems like everyday over the weekend we had three or
four hours with a heavy rain ina lot of spots terry. So we

(11:54):
could use a dry spell here totry to get these roads back in order
and get the waters receded. Yes, we could a nice long dry spell,
and you know what, looking atthe week, we have more sunshine
than rain, and when we doget rain, it's hardly any rain at
all. So this is a bigimprovement over what we had been dealing with

(12:15):
through Sunday. We had flood watchesthat have been in effect since Thursday,
so much improved here. We'll turnout partly cloudy today, there is a
twenty percent chance of a shower. Most of us are dry. Any rain
that falls will be on the lightside. Load to mid eighties today.
No rain Tomorrow and Wednesday we warmup mid to upper eighties both days.
There is that twenty percent chance ofa shower again Thursday, but another dry

(12:39):
day Friday. Right down seventy threeat your official severe weather station, News

story coming up next. First, trafficking weather together, starting with you Sky

(13:24):
Mike Man. It's crazy this morning. Keep the tip liners calling. I'm
going to open it up shortly. But fourteen eighty five, we know New
Caney that's going to be just eastof Graham Parkway completely shut down. The
Sandra Cento River Bridge. You can'tget across it, and I think it's
going to be like this probably asTerry mentioned that, we're not going to
see receding floodwaters till Thursday. I'msurprised we don't have it closed. Over

(13:46):
the Peach over Peach Creek Bridge. You've got East Text Freeway at the west
fork of the Sanda Center. Thefrontage road is closed. The main lanes
are just fine getting around and keephelping me out on the tip line SKYMIKEE
and the Generator Supercenter dot com trapfrom our KTRH top tax defenders twenty four
hour weather center. For today, considerable clowns is going to become partly cloudy,

(14:07):
slack chances of a rain shower abouttwenty percent chance with the high today
eighty three. Then Tomorrow and Wednesdaypartly cloudy. Stray shower or storm possibility
both days with the high temperature innear ninety right now temperature is double check

from a guy who's actually on campus. He's a professor at ce U n
Y. So you would think, soony, Yeah, this is what sooning.
Turn your microphone on. Sure wecan't hear you. Cuny cuney.

(15:39):
Who calls it cuneye? They do? Yeah, Okay, talked over the
weekend to a guy went to schoolthere, cuney, cuney, cuney.
Not to be the University of NewYork. Right, there's another. There's
also a Suny, s u nY. Yeah, there's an s U
n Y and c U n Y. Yeah, just to cuny. Learn
something new every day. You're nevertwo alter learning. Kids never too old

(16:00):
to learn. It's easier. Youcan get it out faster in radio.
You call it CuNi. I betI could. I'm in radio. I
bet I could say see you whenthey're like, well, I would have
been able to if you and joinsme on it, I would have been
able to say, just as fasterand faster shakes me, she cheakes me.
Okay, let's get to the professor. His name is Jeffrey Lax.
He has some definite thoughts on thestudent protesting and he thinks the main thing

(16:23):
behind the student protesting are radical factoryyou know, members, members of the
faculty, radical faculty members, noteven necessarily long standing professors, you know,
grad students, those types. Hereis this isn't This is a combination
of Islamo Marxists there And what dothey have in common? What are Islamis

(16:44):
and the Marxists have in common?Nothing? You know what it reminds me
of. It reminds me of WorldWar two when we were allied with the
Russians. We had nothing in commonwith the future, you know view we
had for our nations, but wehad a common common enemy. And what
do the Marxists wants Because all theseprofessors of Marxist every student rally, you
see like this are Marxist professors leadingit, guiding it. It's not students.

(17:06):
Don't be fooled by the face ofthe rallies. I see this uplill
close and personal every day in ourcampuses. It's Marxist faculty leading it.
And it's a convenient relationship right nowwith the Islamists radicals who are supporting terror.
A Columbia Law review that's a legaljournal, is run by Columbia law
students. It's calling on the schoolto cancel final exams and give everybody a

(17:30):
passing grade. Here's what they said, and I'm quoting now. Many of
us are unwell at this time andcannot study or concentrate while their peers are
being hauled off to jail. Youknow, I'm pouring scorn on this.
This is outrageous, Jeffrey. Theseare law students. Count rageous. Listen.
The only reason I can't laugh isbecause I'm still thinking about the hostages

(17:52):
that are stuck in Gaza, whohave been there for now close to a
year. So that's the only thingthat stops you from laughing, because it's
so ridiculous, and it is hilariouson a on accord. But there are
people who are there for close toa year now, suffering, their families
are crying, and these people areasking for these ridiculous requests. Its absolutely
absurd, obviously, but it's alsohard. They might get it, Yeah,

(18:12):
they might well get this. Youknow the fact that these schools,
I mean this really rous me up. That these schools are negotiating with these
lunatics is insanity. It's pure insanity. And I saw one of those schools,
I think it was NYU. Ithink that they agreed to eight out
of ten demands that these encampment studentsmade, which is unbelievable. As if

(18:36):
they're the victims. They're not thevictims. They caused the violence, They
caused the harm to Jews, theycaused the threats. And by the way,
this is not anti Semitic, thisis anti American. This is anti
Western culture. The Jews are thelow hanging fruit. Next is America,
Next is Western culture. Yeah,he's probably right about that. Do you
believe that they're negotiating though, Yeah, we don't want to take final exams.

(18:57):
We give us all a passing gradeon the final and we'll maybe we'll
leave our encampment behind. Well, and there you have at George Washington University,
the Statue of Washington wrapped in aPalestinian you know, a headscarf,
and they've got labels and Palestinian flagsall over him. That's an esteemed law
school too. Yeah, well,uh huh, getting less esteemed every day.

(19:19):
Five twenty seven is their time. It's time to take a look at
your money. Joan Donnigher is here. Good morning, Good morning, Jimmy.
This is a huge day for Bowing. It is poised to send astronauts
into orbit using its long delayed spacecapsule. This is a first of its
kind test for Boeing and its rocketmaking joint venture, the star Liner space
taxi, will carry two NASA astronauts, but the Starliner has been plagued by

(19:42):
years of technical problems. The launchis set for ten thirty four tonight,
Eastern Time from Cape Canaveral. Here'ssome Monday morning news to wake up to.
Coffee prices are higher than they've beensince the late seventies. The International
Coffee Organization says a supply crunch inVietnam is getting worse. For the variety
of coffee bean used in espresso blendsand in instant coffees, the group's gage

(20:06):
of wholesale prices rose seventeen percent inApril. Oil prices on the rise again
too, after dropping below eighty dollarsa barrel. Saudi Arabia boosted prices for
its grade to Asia for a thirdstraight month. Right now, crude futures
are up eighty cents to seventy eightninety three of barrel On Wall Street,
we're seeing small gains in stock futures. S and P Future is up fifteen
as Deck Future is fifty two.DEW futures up ninety points. I'm Joan

it to the left shoulder, butthat's a really sticky spot because of all
the merging and craziness that goes onin the canyon. So let's watch out
for those tow truck Nanjas Paul fromConrad I Mike, yesterday we went down

(22:21):
the news. Here's Sheriff Fryer.Good morning. Everyone, is five thirty
two on news Radio seven forty ktrh'snews sponsored by Generator Supercenter. Our top
story this hour. It's come downa lot. We were out here a
couple hours ago and the water wasup to the windows on that car right
there. That's Harris County Sheriff's DepartmentLieutenant David Jasper. The rain's gone.
The floodwater's still coming down in areasnorth of the city. But Jasper told

(22:45):
our TV partner channel too, thereis still danger. This water is contaminated,
there's biohazards. Patrollium. I wouldn'tget in it if I didn't have
to run off. Parts of theSan Jacenter River will not all below flood
level until Thursday. Parts of theTrinity will drop below flood level tomorrow.

(23:06):
Severe weather resulting in a house firein northwest Harris County. A tree hit
by lightning fell, hitting the homeand a gas line inside. No one
was hurt. There are more schoolclosings today, including the Liberty and harden
Isds. Complete list at KTRH dotcom. Also topping our new Georgia,
Republican Marjorie Taylor Green expected to bringit to a vote her motion to vacate

(23:29):
the speakership of Mike Johnson. Itis not helpful to our cause to advance
conservative policy and principle to have anyany of the uprising in her own camp.
And that's what this is. Idon't think it goes anywhere. Johnson
on Fox Now. The motion isexpected to fail because the Democrats are going
to vote to save Johnson's speakership.Speaks volumes. Some contenders to be Donald

(23:53):
Trump's running mate were in Tampa,Florida this weekend. It was a donor
retreat. South Dakota Governor Nome wasnot there. It's fallout, they say
from her book, in which sheadmitted shooting and killing a fourteen month old
dog that was by the way killingher neighbor's chickens. This was a dangerous
animal that was killing livestock and attackingpeople. And I had little children at

(24:15):
the time. Our operation had manykids running around and people in interaction with
the public, and I made adifficult choice. No, I'm on CBS's
face the nation. Biden's been adisaster, But Democrats claim that conservative media
actually secretly once four more years ofthis failed presidency, Liberals think we want
more Biden just so we can complainabout him. Emergency room doctors don't want

(24:38):
more accidents because it's job security. No, we do not want Joe Biden
to win. TJR Reaches. MichaelBerry says this election is life or death
for conservative media. The government isnow intruding into free speech on such a
level that we can't survive a Bidenadministration, So it's purely a question of
survival at this point. Harry saysthis claim from the left is a result

(25:02):
of their inability to admit that Bidenhas been a disaster for everyone. Ethan
Buchinnon News Radio seven forty KTRH.And the persecution continues. The accounting trial
of Donald Trump resuming in Manhattan thismorning, though the mainstream media now starting
to even admit this case is goingto fail. There isn't a case.
Remember him, the straight arrow Republicanall the Democrats thought would hold Trump accountable

(25:26):
for colluding with Russia. But withMueller, as with Garland, now when
we needed a pit bull, wegot a purse dog. Hbos Bill Maher.
He's blaming Attorney General Merrick Garland forslow walking all of these witch hunts
against Trump so it would interfere withthe elections. It is now five thirty
five rich keep getting richer in thisBiden economy. Some lawmakers want to kick

(25:49):
Wall Street out of the housing market. Large investment firms have bought up hundreds
of thousands of homes in recent yearsto rent out. Real estate expert Ted
Jones it says these companies still holda significant share of US homes. Of
those eighty six million, the aresingle family, about sixty eight sixty nine
million are owned by people, Sohe's about twenty million those single family homes.

(26:11):
But he adds they are now sellingoff many of those homes due to
the costs. Kash a lot moreto repair that house. So what we're
seeing right now because Wall Street firmsare actually reinvested in to build too rich
communities. Some Democrats want legislation tocap the number of homes companies can buy.
Cory Ulson, who's radio seven fortyktrh oil futures trading for about seventy

(26:33):
nine bucks of barrel this morning. But there are concerns that oil prices.
We've seen them go up, comedown, They're not going to stay steady.
If they stay more or les's wherethey are, we could have a
comparatively low priced season this summer, but it doesn't seem likely, as analyst
Trilby Lundberg, Israel on the vergeof a military operation in Rafa, that's

(26:56):
in Gaza. It's a Hamas stronghold. Israel's defense minister says it has to
happen now because Hamas has rejected thelatest offer of a truce. Talks on
the hostage release deal are meant tocontinue today, and Israeli spokesman's confirmed a
limited scope operation is planned in Rafa, the military urging one hundred thousand Palestinians

(27:18):
to move to an expanded humanitarian zone. More pro Hamas protests this weekend at
colleges across the country concerned now thatthe agitators are going to be disrupting commencement.
There are many ways to protest somethingthat's happening in another part of the
world, but not by by killing, or not by throwing stones or it's

(27:42):
saying killed the Jews in some ofthe campuses. Florida Republican Congresswoman Maria Salazar
and Fox we know the protests arefunded by outside sources. Political reporting they
include Joe Biden's biggest donors, GeorgeSoros, money behind two groups responsible for
the riots of Columbia. Jewish Voicefor Peace is the name and if not

(28:03):
now yeah, he funds them. It's five thirty eight. We may not
have seen the last of JJ Wattin a Houston, Texas uniform. After
all, I told Demico last year, I said, don't call unless you
absolutely need it. But if youever do call, I'll be there.
He knows not to call him lesssee absolutely needs it. What before his

(28:26):
charity softball game this weekend. Heretired after the twenty twenty two season.
I'm sheryf Rar in news radio sevenforty KTRH. I usually take iten West,
but lately that's been a nightmare ktrhtime saving traffic. Next on the
ten Kitts and Zebra Seebra's on theRun five thirty nine ers their time here.

(28:47):
In Houston's morning news, a groupof four zebra is being transported from
just outside Seattle, Washington, toMontana to a new home. Trailer broke
down, so guy pulls over tothe side of the road and he's working
on the trailer, and the zebrasdecided, hmmm, this this this,

(29:08):
uh, this door looks pretty loose. Maybe we can get out of here.
And sure enough they did, sofour zebras took off. They're gonna
live in the wilds of Washington.Evidently, no more captivity for us.
Three of them got caught right away. Sug, however, that's that's the
zebra's name. Sug decided that shedidn't want any party getting caught, so

(29:32):
she won on a week long adventureand she gets spotted and she gets her
photograph taken, and she's becoming anInternet sensation. But she's a loser a
looting captivity until she finally wanders onto a farmer's property and the farmer's got
a little, you know, littleexperience, you know, rounding up horses
and that kind of thing. Sohe he basically, first of all,

(29:52):
he gains her confidence with food, because Shug's pretty hungry. Sugar finds out
there's not a lot to eat.Sometimes it's not apples season. You have,
What am I going to eat outhere? So he starts building a
little fence and he just kind ofmoves her closer and closer and closer,
moves the fences in closer and closerin feedzer, and they finally capture.
Took six days for her to dothat. I'm not sure how long a

(30:15):
zebra would last in the wilds ofWashington State anyway. That's not exactly like
you know, the Serengeti five fortytime for traffic and weather together, we're
at a zebra on the freeways inHouston. Of all the stuff we've had,
you know, never had zebra. We've had We've had families of ducks
blocking roads. We've had alligators asa lot of you know, we've had
a lot of livestock. We've hadnaked people that we get a lot of

(30:37):
those. Have we ever had anybodyanything escape the Houston Zoo and make it
onto a freeway that would be coolright there. I'd like to see some
lamas or something. But no,no, no, don't do that.
Let's go let's head to the hardwork and easaide. But your heart hat
some we're doing it in at Monmouth. The duck from Mott Bilby tells me
there's all these blow shoeloids there rightat Monmouth before the truck stop, and

(30:57):
people are actually kind of rubbernecking justa little bit. I'll tell you something
I saw Terry when we I wason call for TV and we were filming
over at some of the high waterrescues. But the debris in the Sanja
Cento River is pretty troubling. Andalso there was all kinds of fuel spill.
So you know, if you gotkids, don't let them play in
that stuff. The feeder road completelyblocked out here, and people are revernacking

(31:19):
just a little bit at an extraminute or so now over our shoulder toll
bridge southbound, that suckage continues. It's one lane, that's all you have.
Southbound looks like about a ten minutespackle and you've got let's see North

it's Kamala Harrish, you you're grateful. You'll hear from them that often.
There is speculation now about who Trump'snumber two pick will be. They're talking
about it on the big weekend show. Some of the finalist names. They'll

(36:14):
go over those and some reaction fromTammy Bruce, Senator Marco Ruby of Florida,
Senator J. D vansil Ohio,Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina,
Representative Lys Sonic of New York,Byron Donalds of Florida, North Dakota Governor
Doug Burgham, and still on thatlist, South Dakota Governor Christy Nome.
Tammy, which one of those excitesyou the most? And why, well,

(36:34):
you know, there just needs tobe a big red X on the
dog killer. It just needs tobe. I mean, what's great about
campaigns is that you learn about peopleand that it's a constant scrutiny. They
say things that are important, whetherthey're good or bad. You see how
people handle stress, what their characteris or lack thereof. So I think
that this again is what's very importantin this regard. But at the same

(36:57):
time we look at those individuals. What we've heard, of course, is
that the talent bench is deep. That is true. The president. The
benefit for President Trump this time aroundis he knows what he's getting into.
Before he did not, neither didthe rest of us. He presumed,
like when you're running a business, that everybody's on the same page and everyone
wants success, not in Washington. So now he knows, and I think

(37:17):
we're looking at the dynamic where heexpected things from Pence that he did not
get. He needs a teammate. This is not a frivolous decision. I'm
sure he knows that, and Ithink he also knows the seriousness of what
it means. He is thinking aheadusually for the country. I think I
would accept because I've learned to notsecond guest President Trump whoever he wants,

(37:38):
because he understands what's at stake. All of these individuals with again minus one
would be fabulous. Also, SarahSanders comes to mind. I mentioned Mike
Pompeo on Fox and Friends this morning. Some people got upset, But the
reality is all hands on deck forthis because we've got a big job and
he's got one term to do it, which means two and a half or
three years again, because they'll fighthim. A person who's in that spot

(38:00):
has got to be able to bea ringer for twenty eight and thirty two.
I think any of those names areactually going to be who he picks.
I don't know. We'll have towait and see, obviously, but
I just you know, when allthe media is saying blah blah blah,
these are the four these, Ijust don't buy it. Especially I think

(38:22):
Donald Trump is cagy. I thinkhe learned sure, especially Marco Rubio that
that makes no sense to me.I don't for one thing. Marco Ruby
is the senator from Florida. He'sofficial residents as president of Florida. So
you know Ron Desandis maybe is backin the mix. You don't know,
I mean, well, they'd haveto you have to switch their state then,
because you can't be Yeah, Trumpwould have to move, You'd have

pull in money and help cover theirstate. Right, you don't know that

(47:29):
the good old days weren't that longago. You know, most all of
us were around in twenty sixteen. In our memory banks. We remember what
the economy was like, We rememberwhat life was like. The biggest thing
we had to worry about was,you know, whether or not you know
what the latest thing that Donald Trumpwas going to say to you know,

Indeed, you have these a toughweekend, especially around Kingwood. Join us
to talk about Harris County Sheriff LieutenantDavid Jasper, who is doing water rescues

(53:45):
all weekend. Lieutenant, thanks fortaking the time to join us here this
morning. You must be exhausted.Tell me how the troops are doing out
there. Good morning, Thank youfor having me on. The troops are
awesome, our guys with the HarrisCounty Sheriff's Office flood Rescue, and our
partners with the Harris County Fire Marshall'sOffice and the Huffman Fire Department and the

(54:09):
Crosby Fire Department. It was justawesome working with them. I know that
you got a lot of equipped,a lot of Houston area fire department's got
boats and other equipment after Harvey. How handy has that come in for you
folks over the course of this weekend. Hey, that's a great question.
So you know, just like youhear carpenter say, different tools for different

(54:34):
jobs. So starting Wednesday, wewere using our zodiacs, which are motorized
inflatable boats, and we were upin the Huffman area and we formed a
lot of rescues. I think itwas close to eighty people and about thirty
animals, men, women and children. And then we followed the flood down

(54:59):
to the Crosby and Channelview area onSaturday and Sunday, and then the air
boats were much more effective because theycan go over patches of land and water.
So all of the assets were used. Tell me how many of these

(55:19):
were like flash flooding, like roadsand waters, and how many were just
coming downstream to release from the damsand people not really realizing just how much
water was coming. So that's anothergreat question, because you know, it
wasn't like Hurricane Harvey where it affectedthe entire area, but the Sanja Center

(55:40):
River I think the peak was aboutseventy eight feet during Hurricane Harvey, it
was eighty one feet. So youknow, it all started up north,
as y'all know, and as LakeConroe filled up, they had to release
a tremendous amount of water into theriver which makes its way down to Lake

(56:02):
Houston, and then that effected theKingwood area, and then it's Lake Houston
is jumping the water. Then itaffects all the communities south of the Lake
Houston Dam along the Sandy Central RiverChannel view area all the way down to
the Ship Channel. So I knowthat Texas Task Force one and two were

(56:24):
very quickly utilized. Did you interactwith them at all? You know,
when we were operating up in theHuffman area, we were working with the
Huffman Fire Department and the you know, the Harris County Fire Marshall's office,
and they told us that Task Forceone was up there, and I didn't

(56:44):
personally see them, and also theyheard reports of the Cajun Navy. And
then also Mattress Mac had his heavyutility truck out there and we helped load
up about nineteen people on his truck. And so it really was it brings

(57:05):
out the best in humanity, everybodyworking together to try to help these folks
out there affected by the flood. If you had to take a guest,
lieutenant, how many people do youthink you rescued over the course of the
weekend or since all the flooding began. It was an excess of one hundred.
Like I said, it wasn't likeHurricane Harvey. It was very localized.
And as we got down there onRiver Road in the Channel View area,

(57:29):
there were some diehards that are youknow, we're walking out to them
waste deep water and they don't wantto rescue. And oddly enough, and
you just can't make this stuff up. Yesterday we had people asking us to
take them back to their flood athomes. I believe it. People hate
to abandon. Will you do that? No, we're not going to provide

(57:52):
that service. No, it's aone way ride, that's for sure.
Lieutenant, thanks for joining us.You've had lots of grub and that you're
dried out and ready to do thenext day. And God bless you and
thank you for all you do.We do appreciate it. Harris County Sheriff

And of course, what better placeif you're a protester then to walk right
down the aisle and disrupt the graduationceremonies with your pro Palestinian anti Israel movement,
which is what happened, and alot of the students weren't real happy
about that, especially University of Michiganstudent Benny Shaveski, who was there at

disruption. It was not a briefdisruption. In fact, I was seated

They began disrupting when the Secretary ofthe Navy decided to speak. I

they wanted to interrupt the commencement ceremonyfor eight thousand graduates and their families.

and the university administration has done nothingto remove it. They've had banners

displayed that say long live the Intofada, calling for a violent genocide against my
people. They want us systematically eliminated, and frankly, I'm not willing to
stand for that on my campus. So I took it upon myself to remove
these genocidal posters that are displayed againstschool policy on university buildings. I removed
one of these from a school building. Andy anti Israel agitator decided to confront

gotta be good news for Montgomery CountyJudge Mark Keel, who was busy as
can be Friday Saturday, and I'mguessing just as busy yesterday, were you
not, Judge, Oh, yes, absolutely, you know. We yesterday
we were deciding how soon we weregoing to go into the recovery mode.

(01:33:23):
This morning, at six point thirty, we went into recovery mode. And
that's where it's all starting right now, as soon as you know, it
has been with the response and rescueposition that we've taken here in our county,
along with Harris County and the rest. Right now, we have the
Texas Task Force who continues to bewith us. They'll probably with us the
next couple of days. But thenRon DeSantis, as you also know,

(01:33:45):
sent but for our listeners, alsosent to the Florida Search and Rescue Task
five Force to be with us.They're staying at our We have a huge
supply and apparatus warehouse for our Officeof Emergency Management. So these guys are
getting out and it's not just forus, this is for the entire region.
So they'll be helping anybody that calls, if you will, from Harris

(01:34:09):
County or from Polk County, orWalker or San Jacino or Liberty or wherever.
But being in the response rescue rightmoving from the response to recovery,
you know, we've got we figuredwe have and we're still counting, but
have had over two hundred evacuations andrescues that have taken place. Now we're

(01:34:30):
in this submitting damage program. Buthere's what the listeners need to know.
If they'll go to my Facebook pageCounty Marquillo County Judge, we've got self
assessment there for FEMA that you canfill out and send into the States.
We can't do this for you.You have to do it. Even though
we are in the process of goingaround and assessing the damage, which is

(01:34:53):
a meticulous thing. The homeowners needto be the ones to get into the
situation damage assessment and everything you needis right there on that web page.
So as we're doing this, whichwe want to get the federal help that
we need. As you also know, we have declared here in our county.
I've declared a disaster. But alsoGovernor Habit and the guys over at

(01:35:15):
the San Jacinto River Authority and thedam they've been involved in. Everybody's been
working in such a cooperative way. It's it's been pretty incredible. So we're
moving in the right direction. TheEast Fork, although we're still watching it.
It was still going up yesterday afternoon, but it's crested, is on

(01:35:36):
its way back down in East County, and so what we spend time out
there as well, you think thisis much what we have for it.
So it's pretty smooth. For thepeople who who are the victims of all
this, this is going to bepretty smooth in terms of what they have
to jump through because it all allroads lead to the state ultimately, as

(01:35:57):
basically as what you say and youknow, and you know, when it
comes to this kind of stuff,I wish I could say it's gonna go
smooth. I think it's gone prettysmooth so far. Since twenty nineteen,
since Amelda, we have seriously beenbeen planning for these kinds of events and
all the resources that have come togetherto do it to help our people.

(01:36:18):
Has been pretty remarkable. But again, our work is cut out for us.
Now comes the tedious part. We'realso going to be going from home
to home checking those homes. Ifwe have to, we'll go into those
home to make sure there is noloss of life. If you had to
judge, if you had to puta price tag. I know it's kind
of early in the process, butif you had to put a price tag
in Montgomery County on the damage, where would you guess it is? Right

(01:36:40):
about now? Man, I can'tMan, don't do that to me.
Buddy. I can't tell you atthis point. But next time I talk
to you, I'll have some information. But we're talking step by step.

can get the information out to everybody. Well you, betch, I appreciate

Republican Marjorie Taylor Green expected to bringto a vote her motion to vacate the

to our cause to advance conservative policyand principle to have any any of the

wondering if you are going to changeyour habits as menu prices continue to increase.
Here's Jack Hartung, the CEO ofChapolte. Yeah, you know,
we had a great first quarter. We had a seven percent comp and more
than five percent of that was certainlyby transaction growth, which I know is
tough to come by, you know, in this kind of environment. The
thing we're most proud of when welook at our customers by income brackets,

(01:53:35):
our low income consumers came at thesame rate as our high income consumers,
and that tells us that we arereally providing a great value and we're charging
a fair price for it. Weknow that consumers, especially on the low
end, are inflation weary these days, and so we've been very careful about
not trying to get over you know, a little over zealous with price increase.

(01:53:56):
In that we're running under a threepercent price increase during the first quarter.
We can back, combined with ourrestaurant team providing a great experience,
keeps our customers coming back. Yeah, the minimum wage higher minimum weights just
took effect earlier this month, soit wasn't part of our reporting period.
We did take a modest price increaseof six to seven percent. We've been
watching the traffic since we took theprice increase. We're not seeing anything yet.

(01:54:19):
We're not seeing any change in behavioryet. It's very early, so
we'll keep a close eye on it. Jack, I understand you're partnering with
a company called hyphen to create robotsthat can help build meals for you.
Now, I don't like that becauseI like to sweet talk the person making
my burritos so they'll give me morechicken. I don't know if I can

(01:54:39):
do that with the robot. Butis that the future and how soon is
it coming? Yeah? Well,so, first of all, you won't
see robots at the front line.So if you want to commit and sweet
talk and try to get a littleextra a nice a little extra ingredients along
the way, you'll still have thatopportunity. What we're talking about is really
for our digital business. Our digitalbusiness is done on a completely separate line.

(01:55:00):
Today. It's about thirty seven thirtyeight percent of our business, and
it can be very very busy duringour peak launch and our peak dinner and
so you know, you can seeon the screen here that what we're trying
to do is we're not going toreplace employees, but we're going to make
the jobs of our employees much easier. It'll be a calmer experience, and
then we know that we can giveour customers an order digitally, an accurate
order because the robots are going toput exactly the right ingredients in and we

(01:55:24):
can make sure those orders are alwaysdone on time as well. So we
think it's going to make the customerexperience and the care experience better and you'll
still be able to sweet talk ourcrew along the line. Yeah, there's
going to be more automation, ofcourse there is in the restaurant industry.
There has to be that's coming. We don't know it well know it?
Technology marches on sure does absolutely howyou use it? Yep, darn right.
