The sergeant of arms will restore order.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
Yeah, Florida man arrested for that outburst as the Senate
debated President Trump's budget plans, his Big Beautiful Bill. This
was after Democrat Minority Leader Chuck Schumer forced the of
the nine hundred plus page bill on the Senate for

says he will not seek reelection and will retire after
voting against the package on Truth Social The President called
this quote great news.
Speaker 8 (02:22):
It took the court system out of the presidency to
a large extent. The courts were almost like being the
president and you can't have it.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
And that was the President on Fox's Sunday Morning Future,
celebrating the US Supreme Court decision Friday striking down nationwide injunctions.
He called it a massive decision. Of course, Democrats, like
the squads were shoot at to labarre, freaking out and
melting down.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
I don't care about the constitutionality.
Speaker 6 (02:50):
They made this decision because they are bought Supreme Court.
Speaker 9 (02:54):
That was tulayban X.
Speaker 6 (02:56):
By the way, the High Court did not rule on
the issue of birthright citizenship in President Trump's executive order,
kicking it back down to lower courts.
Speaker 9 (03:05):
Bi BO three now on KTRH.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
The new flavor of the month for the Democrats is
taking a victory lap after a stunning win in the
New York City mayor ol primary.
Speaker 10 (03:16):
We live in the most expensive city in the United
States of America. It's also the wealthiest city in the
wealthiest country. In the history of the world, and yet
one in four New Yorkers are living in poverty.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
Socialists or On Mandani would not condemn the use of
the term globalize the infantata during his Meet the Press
interview yesterday on NBC. So what is the impact of
Mamdanni's win.
Speaker 11 (03:38):
And specifically, what does this mean for Democrats nationally.
Speaker 12 (03:42):
It's a huge problem for the Democrats nationally. I mean
what a fetterman called. He said it was Christmas in
July for the GOP.
Speaker 11 (03:48):
That's columnist David Marcus who wrote about it for Fox
News Digital.
Speaker 12 (03:53):
They're going to be able to take that right to
the doorstep of Chuck Schumer and right to the doorstep
of a king Jeffery and saying, wait a minute, is
this what your party reports.
Speaker 11 (04:00):

a chance.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
Two firefighters are data. Third is in surgery after being
ambushed and murdered while responding to a call of a
brush fire in Cordelaine, Idaho. A suspect was found dead
near a gun. The third firefighter is in stable condition.
Speaker 9 (04:29):
Here at home.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
The left isn't just using law fair against the Trump agenda.
The law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in
public school classrooms is now facing a lawsuit. David Covey
with Texas Value says this is liberals being liberals.
Speaker 14 (04:44):
As laws going to effect, especially the laws on social policies,
lawyers sort of get their plates fool.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
He expects more lawsuits to come from groups like the ACLU,
which can't stand the fact that the state is run
by Republicans. However, one thing that is moving forward Texas
is cracking down on illegals taking advantage of in state tuition.
Speaker 15 (05:06):
A federal judge has issued an injunction against illegal aliens
getting in state tuition in Texas. Ira Melman with the
Federation for American Immigration Reform says this is a matter
of federal law.
Speaker 16 (05:17):
Any state that offers in state tuition benefits to illegal
aliens has to make that same offer available to any
US citizen. Texas has not been in compliance with that,
so they were giving benefits to people who were in
the country illegally over citizens and legal residents of the
United States.
Speaker 15 (05:32):
The Texas Higher Education Board has now ordered all universities
to identify illegal alien students and begin charging them out
of state tuition. Corey Jolson, who's Radio seven forty k TRH,
it is.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
Now five h five Barry weekends to a tropical depression
making landfall in Mexico, as the National Hurricane Center now

even those Center Points, says it's ready for anything. Tropical
Critics say the utility hasn't done enough to prepare and
that it wasted millions by buying generators that won't keep
(06:03):
or won't help most of Texas. Uh's at Her says
it's crucial that state leaders keep up the pressure on
Center Point.
Speaker 17 (06:10):
We can't just fix this with backup generators at home.
The challenge we've got is if the infrastructure goes down,
we lose our traffic lights, we lose electrical for grocery stores,
for healthcare, for jasoline stations, and as we noticed during
Hurricane Beryl, a crime triple.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Her says, Beryl exposed Center Points vulnerabilities. The Astros bounce
back against the Cubs at Dykin Park and.

something there on news Radio seven forty ktrh Oh.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
No please, I could not eat anymore, no more food.
Five oh eight is our time here in Houston's morning News.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Good morning.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
A big story from yesterday, of course, that we're going
to get to here in a matter of ben It's
President Trump on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria and Bartarbama.
Lots of audio to share stick around, But first we
start with just a quick little thing that many things
I learned while in Greece with our listeners. By the way,
we had a great group of listeners. We had a doctor,
(07:51):
we had a former Houston police officer and his wife.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
We had.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Just about any sort of walk of life you can imagine,
and we just had a great time. We toured the
parthenon first day, about one hundred degrees. By the way,
I'm going to get some pictures up on our website today.
If you're not a Facebook friend, or if you just
want to friend me on Facebook, you can see some
of the pictures there. And you know, I'll give you
(08:17):
full little report here from time to time. But here's
one of the things I learned. You don't mean a
college education, right. I am skeptical these days about what
a college education really does for you, and I found
out in Greece it really doesn't do much for you
when your entire economy is based on hospitality. By the way,
(08:41):
super friendly people just I mean just salt of the earth,
the kind of people who would welcome you into your
home there. They're just nice, just nice people. Crime, not
a problem, you know, just just a wonderful place to
go visit. But they are completely dependent on hospital and
(09:01):
we took several tours of ancient sites with some great
tour guides, one of whom, by the way, had two
master's degrees. He has two master's degrees, and he's working
as a tour guide because there's no funding within the
Greek government for him to continue his work. So that's
(09:22):
how he makes a living as a tour guide. All
those years he spent getting his degrees. Now he's a
very smart guy, but all those years he spent getting
those degrees, what does it led to as far as
his ability to make a living. Not much, as it
turns out. So just again, just to we have a
diverse economy in this country. We're not. You know, there
(09:45):
are areas that depend on hospitality, but that's not how
this country runs. But you take some of these European
countries where that's all they have, this one aspect of
the economy and nothing else. Really, we'll get get you
where you need to go. And they're starting to have
an affordability problem. Sure their prices are cheaper than it's
(10:06):
here in the United States, but their incomes are much
smaller too. So again, we are very lucky. I was
lucky to go and to take some of our listeners,
and we are even luckier to be back here where
we live five to ten time for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
You would have fit right in. Those guys, Mike. Guess
they're all kind of small like you.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
There's shorts people in Greece. That's cool. I just they
just seem to be so chilled out. You've pretty much
sold me on wanting to go. Let's do some Grand
Parkway here. As we head over toward the golf ball westbound,
the cross street is Rothwood. A lot of us don't
really know where that is. It's right before right after Gosling.
If you're trying to come over from forty five. They've
kept most of us over to the right side. Once
(10:47):
the ninjas get there, I think they may have to
take a right lane shortly, so be ready from forty
five to two forty nine. I don't see as much
of a smunch from this just yet. All right, let's
hit some southwest side as promised, sugar Land on this
southwest freeway looks good.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Seventeen minutes from the fountains up into downtown.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
West Park Tollway, rocking along your big shots, we look good.
From Grand Parkway to the Southwest Freeway, Katie Freeway.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
This is a nice start.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
They're showing a closure, but I think this is the
feeder right around Kirkwad. I don't see any kind of
a smude and going into the President's heads. From Katie
Mills twenty seven minutes. So we pretty much have peace
on the Weser side. Let's check your hard hats. At
five twenty I'm Scott Miike. It's your USA RB Resorts
dot com traffic center.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
From our KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four hour weather center.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Terry Smith is here. Good morning to you.
Speaker 9 (11:35):
Hey, welcome back.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
I was thinking about you when I was climbing up
to the Parthenon. It was about one hundred and one degrees.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
And I came to mind, I'm flattered this one.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I was in a delusional moment here. I think it
might have been heatstroke. I'm not sure. Oh no, maybe
it was the USO. I can't really remember.
Speaker 20 (11:52):
M I hope it's the latter. Well, very good, Well,
we're glad you're back. The weather here is slightly cool
than it was when you were climbing to the Parthenon,
but you are definitely feeling the heat and humidity this week,
nothing that's out of the ordinary for the last day
of June and heading into July, and not a lot
of rain. That's the main thing, especially later in the
(12:15):
week when we have all our Fourth.
Speaker 9 (12:16):
Of July celebrations.
Speaker 20 (12:18):
Today, it's a thirty percent chance of some showers and thunderstorms.
That'll hold off until maybe as early as late morning,
but certainly the afternoon hours. Load of mid nineties Today. Tomorrow,
twenty percent chance that you might get wet. Looks dry Tomorrow,
twenty percent chance of a shower thunderstorm. Thursday and Friday,
we're going to be in the nineties now starting tomorrow.
(12:40):
I think we're going to see some places in the
upper nineties. So that possibility of the heat and humidity
being a factor will We'll keep an eye on it
just in case those heat and diseased start to get
a little concerning.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
All right, And there's a little bit of action I
guess going on right now in the southeast, maybe around Florida.
Speaker 20 (12:58):
Well, so there's a couple of things. The remnants of
Barry Barry kind of snuck up a little bit what
late Friday and then into Saturday and Sunday. That's made
its way into Mexico, and so I want to watch
those remnants in case we get some of that moisture
right now, I don't think so. And the area either
side of the Florida Peninsula and the golf and over
(13:19):
the Atlantic, we're going to be monitoring that as well,
just because of a stalled front.
Speaker 9 (13:24):
That's going to be hanging around.
Speaker 20 (13:26):
Sometimes these little vorticeas will get along that stalled front
and try to amp up a bit.
Speaker 9 (13:31):
So we'll be watching that just in case.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Okay, right now seventy five at your official severe weather station,

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Yesterday President Trump was on the Sunday Morning Futures with
Maria Bartaroma talking about whole of things. We'll share some
of that audio with you coming up next. First, we
have traffic and weather together. Is we check out the
drive once again? What's going on on this gram Parkway thing. Jimmy,
It's making me nervous, here's the deal. It looks like
a minor wreck, all.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
Right, westbound at Rothwood. I don't really know that area
well because it's a nice neighborhood. But westbound, what we
do have is a text dot wall of death. So
it's a real squeeze, it's a real shoot trying to
get through that. Let's be super careful coming over from
forty five. Also, there are a few dark spots. Let's
go to two forty nine, Jeff from Tomball, Dude.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Guy Mike.
Speaker 21 (14:33):
We'll stout that on two forty nine I forgot highway

Speaker 3 (14:41):

Speaker 1 (15:44):
There really is something there. On news Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Five twenty three our time here in Houston's morning news.
Right Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Barbarama sat down with
President Trump. I think it was about an hour's worth
of an interview. I caught about thirty six minutes of it,
and he talked about a whole variety of different things.
By the way, I guess I should have said something
before I left on this Grease trip. I really kind
(16:13):
of knew something big was going to happen while I
was gone, because it always does you.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Ever have it.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
You just know every time every time I go on
a significant vacation, you know, not a couple days here,
a couple of days. Every time I go on a
significant vacation, something happens.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
And what do we do?
Speaker 4 (16:31):
We bomb Iran. So that was kind of significant. And
by the time I get back, it's all over. It's
all over, done with. But President Trump on Sunday Morning
Futures talked to Maria Bartaroma about the decision to bomb
Iran and why that decision was made.
Speaker 8 (16:48):
But you look back at the early interviews, I would say,
Iran cannot have a new thaw up, and they've wanted
this three years and they were weeks away from getting it.
And those pilot went in there with that, those beautiful
planes and the most sophisticated bombs anywhere they will think
of it.
Speaker 22 (17:06):
They can go thirty stories deep into granite.
Speaker 8 (17:08):
Who would think it's even possible, And they did obliterate it.
It turned out, then we had to suffer the fake
news were the fake news and CNN and the New
York Times was saying, well, maybe it wasn't as good
as Trump said, maybe it wasn't totally obliterated, but it
was destroyed, but not a you know, just terrible and
I could see it happening. And they tried to build
(17:28):
that into a story and then it turned out, no,
it was obliterated like nobody's ever seen before. And that
meant the end to their nuclear ambitions, at least for
a period of time. And you know a lot of
people have said, well, do you think they're going to
start again? They said, the last thing they want to
do right house, think about nuclear They have to put
themselves back into condition and shape.
Speaker 23 (17:49):
You tweated the Democrats leaked intelligence.
Speaker 8 (17:53):
They should be prosecuted specifically, do I know people did it?
Speaker 22 (17:56):
You're able to find it.
Speaker 8 (17:57):
You can find out if they wanted, they could find
out easily. You go up and tell the reporter national
security who gave it. You have to do that, and
I suspect who will be doing things like that.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Okay, first of all, do you think you're getting cooperation
for the reporter?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
All right, I have to protect my sources.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
No, they're they're going to pull out the have to
protect my sources. Card As far as letting the Trump
administration know who the leaker was, I would like to
think that, you know, the Pentagon knows. Certainly they must
be aware of certain individuals that are inclined to do
(18:37):
things like that, right, You would like to think they
would anyway, So I'd be really surprised if they don't
either don't know or can't figure out. But then again,
you know, if they know who leaked the Supreme Court
secret and nobody's ever say anything about that, so I
would I would suggest that probably whoever the person is
isn't really worried about getting caught, certainly not worried about
(18:59):
being prosecut you did, at least not at this point.
But it was an amazing thing. I mean, to watch
it from a cruise ship, you know, the the the
bombing in Iran and the precision strike. It is basically
I think it's basically what I was saying right before
I left. I mean, we have the bunker busters, we
(19:20):
have the capability of taking these people out.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
What are we waiting for?
Speaker 4 (19:24):
And we finally got to the point where we weren't
willing to wait any longer five twenty six. It is
time to take a look at your money on a
Monday morning, as we check in with Jeff Bellacher.
Speaker 24 (19:32):

Our top story a rhino warning in Texas. President Trump
promised to endorse any Texas representative who voted for school choice. Now,
the Texas Republican Party wants him to hold off on that.
Speaker 28 (22:32):
That's because some of those reps are rhinos that the
GOP is trying to remove.
Speaker 29 (22:36):
State Republican Executive Committee recently passed a resolution calling.
Speaker 30 (22:39):
On the President to wait a little bit in naturing.
Speaker 29 (22:41):
Those endorsements as they sift through the results of procession.
Speaker 28 (22:45):
Brandon Walton's with the Texas Scorecard, says Trump and the
state GOP need to be on the same page to
oust these rhinos.
Speaker 29 (22:50):
It's important to see people like Abraham George, chairman of
the Republican Party of Texas, out there speaking publicly about this,
bringing it directly to the president.
Speaker 28 (22:58):
Wilton's also warned that some of these rhinos are already
claiming they have Trump's endorsement, so it's important to be vigilant.

Speaker 22 (23:41):
Think of it.
Speaker 8 (23:42):
I think I just saw the number a little while ago.
One point seven trillion dollars.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
President Trump on Fox's Sunday Morning Futures. As the Senate starts,
they are vote rama on the budget plan later today.
Debate interrupted by a heckler yesterday who was arrested. Republican
Senator Tom Tillis of North Carolina. He's retiring and won't
run flyer elections. He's now come out against the big
beautiful bill.
Speaker 32 (24:05):
I'm telling the President that you have been misinformed.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
You supporting the Senate mark.
Speaker 32 (24:13):
Will hurt people who are eligible and qualified for Medicaid.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
He is the third Republican to go public with his
concerns about the package. It's five point thirty four. Another
violent weekend across Houston. One of the shootings a teenager
injured at a party in the Southeast Side. She's expected
to recover. Of course, nobody's been arrested. HPD dealt with
the suspended case scandal last year. Now the Harris County
(24:40):
DA is forced to file Brady notices on over three
hundred and sixty cases.
Speaker 9 (24:45):
This was after a.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Forensic Science Center investigator was fired, and this could have
big impacts on those hundreds of cases.
Speaker 33 (24:53):
This depends on the evidence that is being impacted. It
could be favorable for the defendant, it can be exculpatory evidence.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
And could be huge.
Speaker 33 (25:01):
It could have catastrophic impacts for a lot of these
criminal cases.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
Retired HBD Captain doctor Greg Freeman says that while the
Forensic Science Center does great work, it's disappointing that this
lack of oversight puts so many cases in jeopardy. Coming
up on five oh five, a warning sign for the
state economy. State revenues are hitting a plateau after two
decades of growth.
Speaker 19 (25:22):
After a population boom and pandemic transfer payments inflated revenue.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
We're regressing to the mean.
Speaker 34 (25:27):
Where you've seen a lot of those government transfer payments
drop offs, for example, less from sales taxes and related
sources like that.
Speaker 19 (25:34):
Economist Thank Lewis says people have also tightened their budgets
and fixing it depends on a few factors.
Speaker 34 (25:40):
If these programs are running. Surplus is based upon the
current rate of tax intake part of the slowdown. They
need to be prepared to balance the budget. If it
does involve cutting certain programs, the state may need to
look at a resolving its budgets.
Speaker 19 (25:53):
It's the first non growth year since two thousand and two.
Andre Parard News Radio seven forty KTRH, Thank.
Speaker 9 (25:59):
You Andre, looking at your money.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
Futures are up this morning across the board, two hundred
and eighteen points on the Dow. This as Canadian Prime
Minister Mark Carney says free trade talks with the US
resumed after that country reshinded its plan to tax American
technology firms. Nearly a quarter of Americans have no emergency
savings unless than half can cover three months of expenses.
(26:23):
That's according to the latest bank Rate emergency savings reports.
Speaker 35 (26:26):
We did find it more than half of those that
have had to tap their emergency savings they needed more
than one thousand dollars. So when it bites, it tends
to bite hard.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
Financial analyst Greg McBride says that only twenty seven percent
of Americans say that they could cover six months worth
of expenses. Houston's reputation as an affordable place to find
a house is taking a hit. A new study from
RICES that the area is in a quote affordability.
Speaker 9 (26:54):
Crisis as prices go up. So what's behind this?
Speaker 36 (26:58):
The economist Vance Ginn says, to make a list.
Speaker 37 (27:00):
It's not just the price of the land the home.
You've also got to worry about your property taxes and
your insurance costs. Those costs have been increasing dramatically.
Speaker 36 (27:09):
The latest numbers from RICE say the median price of
a house in Harris County is one hundred and thirty
thousand dollars more than someone making the media and income
can afford. Van says, consider tariffs, housing inflation. Man shortage, Well.
Speaker 37 (27:20):
We will see. I think in Houston is more building.
It's just I'm hopeful that that will help to bring
down some of these housing price increases.

Today five thirty eight a time here in Houston's poring news.
So Alligator Alcatraze is ready to open. That didn't take long.
They put that sucker together in a hurry. President Trump,
by the way, expected to attend the opening in Florida tomorrow.
He'll be joined by a Department of Homeland Security Secretary
Christy Nome Again tomorrow, the Trump administration in Florida leaders
(28:22):
have decided to move forward with the plan to build
a detention facility on that remote site nestled in the
state Swampy Everglades to hold undocumented migrants of waiting deportation,
or maybe about a thousand Iranians.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Can we start with them, that's what they think.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
There's over one thousand Iranians in this country of unknown origin,
of unknown politics that could be part of sleeper cells.
So they are furiously Ice is furiocely trying to find
these people. And I would think that maybe Alligator Alley
(28:59):
would be the perfect place to send them all. Although
I did note on some of the left wing sites,
you know, the MSNBC's of the world, that there are
people protesting the conditions that are likely to be there.
It is, are our mosquitos big enough to pick you
up and fly you away? Is that considered a cruel
unusual punishment for people, because there's big mosquitos all around
(29:22):
the country, including right here in Houston. So I don't
think we can just because it's swampy and there's alligators
out there. I mean, as long as you're not trying
to escape and run through the everglades, I think you're
going to be okay. Is there anybody who thinks we're
going to treat these people inhumanely, that we're not going
to feed them, or that we're going to use them
(29:44):
for alligator bait, Because that's not going to happen. It's
just a secure place where you don't have to worry
about people, you know, packing up and leaving and running
around five forty time for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
That's right. He let's get that.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
I didn't know you'd know that Grand Parkway North at
Ruthwood westbound, that's just past Gosling. It's a nice part
of town. So I don't know it as well, Terry.
But we're looking westbound and you've got this wreck here.
They moved it to the right side, but it's a
really gnarly spot.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
You got the textalk wall of.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
Death on both sides here, and just checking, I don't
see a lot going on as far as responders. Nord Freeway,
this one popped up, and that southbound west Road it's
on the feeder. Nothing good is happening there. I'm hearing
bad stuff about this wreck. Mainlanes are getting by for now.
You'll get some rubbernecking on the southbound I'm sure northbound
I don't think you can see that. And if you're
(30:38):
coming in from two to ninety, we look pretty good.
Grant Parkway to the west Loop. Those of you who
had a grand march at your wedding, we're looking at

in Elligator Alley? Not how big of the mosquitos and
Alligator Alley.
Speaker 9 (31:04):
They're about the size of alligators.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
I'm sure, small microbus maybe.
Speaker 9 (31:08):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 20 (31:10):
South Florida is not my favorite place to be this
time of year, just because of the heat and humidity. No,
right now, Miami's seventy seven degree so no worse than here. Yeah, yeah,
just heating, humidity and thunderstorms, you know. And they're going
to keep seeing that probably off and on through the
(31:30):
summer months. This is their rainy season. They actually have
a rainy season, if you can believe that. And our
rainy season, Jimmy, I was fascinated to check this out.
Our rainy season is June, July, and August. That's when
we get the bulk of our wet weather.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
It's certainly been rainy so far this year.
Speaker 20 (31:45):
Yeah, we definitely, And we got a little bit of
rain today and a lot more sunshine and warm temperatures
really the rest of the week. Thirty percent chance of
showers and thunderstorms today, mainly in the afternoon load of
mid nineties today. Tomorrow there's a twenty percent chance of
a shower thunderstorm. Looks like to Wednesdays dry, and then
(32:05):
that slight chance of twenty percent chance of a shower
storm Thursday and Friday, temperatures the rest of the week
are going to heat up a little bit more than
what we already have and will range anywhere from the
load to upper nineties.
Speaker 9 (32:18):
It looks like through at least Friday.

mayor in New York City. President Trump said he's a communist.
He says, no, I'm not a communist. I'm a Democrat socialist. Well,
the more you hear him, the more you realize there's
not much difference between the Democrat socialist and the communists.
(32:58):
More than that story coming up now first with five
fifty traffic and weather together, we're checking it again.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
A skyline all.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Right, fighting computers this morning. Otherwise i'd have your tip
lines coming out right now. But I can tell you
this North Freeway West Road. Nothing good's happening in that feeder.
I'm not going to say what until I have some
kind of confirmation, But southbound it's totally shut down, and
I just have a feeling about this.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Southbound, Let's go to the mainlanes.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
Mainlanes are actually moving from what I can see right now.
Don't see any big smunches digitally either, And if you

President Trump is expected to visit the immigration Detention center
in Florida, nicknamed Alcatraz Alligator Alcatraz. Two firefighters who dead,
another one fighting for his life after being ambushed in Idaho,

Speaker 4 (34:42):
I'm not sure if he's blaming this on the campaign
trailer dead, but he's probably got something a little bit
more hipper than Woody Guthrie. Five fifty two our time
here on Houston's Morning News. The guy's name is Zoran Mamdani.
He is the presumptive Democratic nominee for mayor in New
York City. Yeah, meet the press. He said he doesn't
believe that billionaires should exist. Is he mentioned that to
(35:06):
George Soros because George Soros might disagree with that. It's
okay to have billions as long as you're a socialist, right,
Whether you want to call him a Democrats socialist or
a communist. You know, there's not a whole lot of
difference between the two. President Trump called him a communist yesterday.
(35:26):
I call it trouble, big trouble for the Democrats. Elizabeth Ames,
George Just. He's an author at New Yorker. She's also
a Fox News contributor. She's a resident of the New
York metropolitan area. Did you ever think you'd live to
see this day? What the hell is going on with you, folks?
Speaker 38 (35:42):
I don't know. It really reflects the sorry state of
New York and thank you for having me. I mean,
he wants to give away free food, free health, free childcare,
free buses, tax the rich even more than their tax.
Now New York posts that he really wants to go
after white neighborhoods, raise the minimum wage to thirty dollars
(36:02):
an hour, and trump proof new York, which means, you.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Know, obviously not work with ice.
Speaker 38 (36:09):
I think it's really a reflection I think partly of
the Democrat policies which have really driven up the cost
of living in New York and the Biden inflation, and
those are the kinds of things that bring in these
very far left extremists.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Often, does he have a prayer, Does he have a chance?
Could he possibly become New York's next mayor?
Speaker 38 (36:31):
Actually? Yes, sadly, polymarket right now gives him a seventy
three point six percent chance of winning. Adams actually has
a nineteen percent chance of winning. But polymarket can change,
you know. I think they gave Harris the chance of
a larger chance of winning at one point during the
presidential election. And there are also a lot of caveats
(36:54):
to this. The turnout for the Democrat primary was very low,
men do he got only about four hundred and thirty
two thousand votes in the ranked choice system, which actually
gives him an advantage as an extremist ranked choice voting.
And New York has over five million registered voters, so
(37:14):
the overwhelming majority of voters did not vote in this election,
but the own there. But there are lots of you know,
there are lots of factors on both sides. Adam's running
as an independent. People think he's got the best chance
of anybody. But Cuomo did not drop out of the race.
I think that was a very selfish arrogance. It was
(37:34):
that's typical of him, which is why he didn't win.
I think one of the he didn't drop out. He's
also running it as an independent, and the Republican candidate,
Curtis Lee is weak. I mean, he didn't you know,
he did, you know, garner a number of votes in
his last attempt, but he's not enough to you know,
he really couldn't really beat Man Man Donnie. So I
(37:58):
think it's a big you know, it's undecided right now.
The whole thing is up in the air.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Something about this reminds me of right before Rudy Giuliani
ran for New York City mayor, the city had kind
of hit an all time low. Crime was out of control,
rats and rat infested buildings, and unaffordability, all the things
that seem to be plaguing New York City right now.
But the difference this time is there is no Rudy
(38:24):
Giuliani to run to the rescue.
Speaker 38 (38:27):
No, and actually that there's a lot of many differences
in the population than there were. I think about this often.
There are many differences in the population today than there
were in Giuliani's time. You've got an enormous immigrant population
of Muslims and Indians, and he's a Muslim, and he's
an Indian mamdani, and so they identified with him in
(38:49):
this case. Interestingly, the Union's big labor was not a
big player in this. It was the Democrats Socialists of America,
which has been they've been on the upswing since AOC.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
So there's that.
Speaker 38 (39:03):
There's the whole immigration, you know controversy, the ice controversy.
People are angry about that in New York. And also
you've got the crazy, uh you know, the college educated,
you know, purple hair kids that come from you know,
well to do families. They voted for him, voted from Mandami.
(39:25):
So you know, it's a little different of an environment
than it was back in the early nineties.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Well, it's going to be interesting.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
I think President Trump's already threatened if this guy gets
elected mayor, that's going to be endo federal funding as
far as he's concerned.
Speaker 38 (39:38):
Yeah, well, I think that might be a good idea,
though it won't help. It won't make any friends here,
I mean, not that he has any at this point
in New York. I mean New York has gone so
far to the left, I don't recognize it. It's very sad.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
It is sad.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
Elizabethans, I never thought i'd see this day. Thanks for

Speaker 3 (42:11):
That's not language that I use.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
He never condemned it though during his NBC interview, what
does his win mean for Democrats nationally?
Speaker 12 (42:19):
I mean, this guy's thirty three years old. He's going
to be at least one of the phases of the
Democrat Party for decades. And there's other Democrats like John Fetterman,
and people in the middle of the country are like,
wait a minute, this is going to destroy our party. So, yeah,
they have a little bit of a problem.
Speaker 6 (42:32):
Here Fox, as David Marcus says, apparently it's a problem
that the left is welcoming. President Trump takes a victory
lap in the US Supreme Court decision to strike down
nationwide injunctions put into place by activist judges, and he
also celebrated to strike GNA Run's nuclear facility.
Speaker 8 (42:48):

so you quote unquote open up a tab, which means
you basically give them your card, and then you proceed
(48:08):
to get drinks and refills, and you don't really know
how much you've spent until the end of the evening
when you go.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
How much I drank that much?
Speaker 4 (48:21):
It could have been the two beautiful young ladies at
the end of the bar you bought drinks for maybe
that was part of it. Or your buddy showed up
and you bought them drinks, you know that kind of stuff.
But the fifty bucks that you allocated for your evening
ended up at one hundred and fifty dollars, and all
of a sudden, you're trying to figure out where the
money went. Gen Z doesn't do it that way. Evidently,
(48:41):
they buy drinks one at a time, so they'll order
whatever it is, they'll pay for it, and then when
they order something else, they'll do the same thing, even
if they buy five or six or seven drinks one
at a time and they pay for them one at
a time, so that they actually realize when they're out
(49:02):
of money. Okay, there's my fifty bucks gotta go. Of course,
for bartenders, that means it's costing them money because they're
not you know, people are actually paying attention to how
much they're drinking. Interesting six' ten time for traffic and weather.

REPUBLICANS i guess six twenty two is our time here
In houston's morning. News so our next, Guest Brandon waltons
With Texas, corecard wrote the article for the, publication where
he checked in with The TEXAS gop Chair Abraham, george
who expressed some concerns that The trump administration is willing
to endorse somebody who may not even be a candidate
(55:03):
for The Republican. PARTY i guess we'll start with this, One,
brent as we can make it a little bit easier
for everybody to. Understand they started with a concern over
The republicans closing their primary here In. Texas what was
The trump administration concerned about?
Speaker 42 (55:15):
That, well, supposedly some political operatives who you, know work
with the president as far as you, know kind of
help him with his endorsements and, such expressed some concern
that they didn't like the idea of closing the, primaries
essentially saying that Only republicans can vote in The republican
primary and That democrats should be voting.
Speaker 3 (55:35):
In The democrat.
Speaker 42 (55:36):
Primary you, know as far as why this, is you,
know some of these some of these consultants has been
tied to more liberal, candidates Not President, trump of, course
but they might have worked for other candidates who have
benefited from this kind of you, know these kind of
open primaries in the. Past now seems like the administration says, no,
(55:56):
actually now they're saying that that's not a. Problem we
have no issue with. That and, so you, know that's
certainly a positive. Development but there's some, other you, know
concerns that The Republican party Of texas is expressing, about you,
know potentially some of these endorsements coming down the pike
from The.
Speaker 4 (56:13):
PRESIDENT i guess they're concerned that there may be an
endorsement coming from somebody who's not a Preferred republican. Candidate
and What Abraham george is, saying we have people who
are running who we don't consider to be really Real,
republicans and these are not the people we want. Elected
so we'd appreciate it if you wouldn't endorse these, people
because you, know if you endorse, them people are going
(56:34):
to vote for.
Speaker 26 (56:35):
Them.
Speaker 30 (56:37):
Exactly there there is a you, know a new mechanism in,
place you, know the, censure meaning that The Republican party
Of texas can remove some candidates that you.
Speaker 42 (56:48):
Know essentially don't vote Like republicans when they're in.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Office they can be removed from the.
Speaker 42 (56:53):
Ballot whether or not this happened to this cycle or
if this gets tied up in, COURT i, mean we'll,
see but the party has Until october to make those.
Decisions so, far the president hasn't issued any, endorsements but
he has reportedly told members that if they voted for
the school choice bill earlier this year in The texas
(57:14):
legislature that they would receive his. Support and, so you,
know these things can always, change and so we'll see what.
Happens but that's why you have The Republican party Of.
Texas The State Republican Executive, committee which is the governing
body of The TEXAS, gfp passing a resolution, saying you,
know just just hold off a bit on these. Endorsements
all we can sort of sort through the results of
(57:36):
the session and have a, bigger more clear picture about
how lawmakers, did.
Speaker 4 (57:41):
How what type of, vetting if, any does The National
Republican party do or does the president's administration do on
candidates before they decide to endorse. Them do they do
voting do they bother to look at voting, records or
do a deep dive into what a candidate stands? For
or do they just ask them about a couple of key.
Speaker 42 (57:59):
Issues you, know it's tough to, SAY i, mean especially
whenever you're talking about something like the state. Legislature you,
know the more degrees the way people are from. It
if they're you, know working IN dc or they usually
do national, races it's you, KNOW i think there's less
scrutiny generally into their, performance just simply based on the
fact that you, know they're talking to a lot of
(58:22):
people and they might not have all the information needed
to put into context people's voting records in the state.
Speaker 4 (58:30):

Prices, guys the data here is pretty. Alarming check this.

World, Events National, Headlines Houston's Morning news With Jimmy barrett
SEVEN a wait our time if you're In Houston's Morning, news,
right everybody's worried about the housing, market and we talk
about it all the.
Speaker 4 (01:27:34):
Time we've talked about high insurance. Costs we had we
had a caller who suggested, that you, know if you
if you don't have to mortgage your home through the,
bag then you don't have to worry about the cost
of insurance because you don't have TO i assume he
meant because you don't have to insure. It and while technically,
TRUE i don't know how many of us are willing
to roll the dice that, way especially in an area
(01:27:57):
Like houston where we have the weather that we have
and the problems they can. Occur the other problem, is of,
course if you do want to get rid of your,
home can you sell your home right? Now there are
four different types of homes we are told that right
now are struggling the most to. Sell number one on
the list make. Mansions you remember the big. Mansions early
two thousands is when they really started taking off oversized.
(01:28:21):
Homes and if it was built in early two, thousands
then the finishes are, dated the floor plans might be
a little bit. Shoppy those built especially in the early
two thousands are having a difficult time moving right. Now you, know,
people if they want something that's completely up to. Date,
condos in particular condos they come with special assessments and
(01:28:44):
HIGH hoa fees are likely to not be very hot
in the real estate market this year because you had
the insurance premiums and the maintenance costs to the homeowners'
association fees and everything else that it really adds. Up
number three on the list luxury. Homes luxury homes will
(01:29:04):
probably do so so in the market in twenty twenty,
five except for the ones that lack distinctive. Appeal those
are likely to bite the dust when it comes to
being for. Sale luxury market cooling buyers at that level want,
uniqueness views or. Lifestyle generic high end homes even in
great neighborhoods are starting to sit unless they're well marketed
or priced well below the replacement. Cost and home, builders
(01:29:29):
home builders home, builds brand new home builds currently sitting
on a plethora of unsold, homes and those are going
to be difficult to. Move according To, godlib when rates
were low and THE covid nineteen pandemic drew buyers to suburban,
areas home builders were on a tear trying to build
to meet the increasing. Demand they couldn't keep up with.
It now it's the opposite. Problem And i've said this
(01:29:51):
before about about our. TOWN i don't see a lot
of brand new homes. Though the only brand new HOMES
i see getting built are kind of out in the
boonies a little. Bit you, know you go up Around
cyprus and you get get away from the city into rural.
Areas they're still building and selling homes but especially in
a place Like Harris, county even where there's room to,
(01:30:11):
build most everything is getting built right now seems to
be for. Rent there's two communities by WHERE i am
that are both going to be for. Rent one is
homes and another one of is town. Homes both but
neither neither of them are going to be homes that
are for. Sale these are all homes that are just for.
Rent seven Ten time for traffic and weather.

Radio, seven jtrh yeah looks like we're coming up. A
little short seven twenty three is our Time here In.
Houston's morning news We're Joined by Harris county Commiss Precinct
three tom ramsey to talk about one point three billion
dollars shortfall to finish all the twenty eighteen. Flood bond, Projects,
all right commissioner what? Happened, This Time.
Speaker 21 (01:36:13):
Yeah jamie peters. At, you're back uh you can't go
out of town because bad things happened when.
Speaker 26 (01:36:19):
YOU lay down.
Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
I noticed that but how?
Speaker 18 (01:36:23):
Did?
Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
You fall hey how explain the shortfall here is it
because it took so long to. Do the projects was
not enough money allocated for the projects?
Speaker 21 (01:36:32):
To, begin, with yeah yeah that's. Part of it inflation
ate into about inflation to. Eat into it and there's
been free as in we wanted to do this one,
kind of project but now we've doubled.
Speaker 26 (01:36:46):
The scope of it and.
Speaker 21 (01:36:47):
That costs more here's the real story on What. Happened
last thursday they implemented and are using a flawed formula
to determine what projects, will be done and we put
it on a two point five billion. Dollar bond issue
we've gone out and found two point seven billion. To
(01:37:08):
match that so we've got and we'll invent five billion dollars.
In doing projects what happened last thursday to give priority
to what they call Equity and what, i'm telling you
it's a way to get projects done in pre fun
in precinc two and not Be done in precinct three
(01:37:30):
WHERE you. And i live, it's a scheme, it's a.
Products it's incredible but here's the. Real big problem we
have matching funds to. Do federal projects so you may
take like there's one in my precinct that's we're gonna
make bond money of one million dollars and we'll get.
Fifty three million now that's kind of getting a big bug, Out,
(01:37:53):
Of you buck but all those projects are at risk
now because It's not, in quartel one it's. In it's
designed They're moving these this is not what people vote on.
In twenty eighteen they did not vote on doing all
the projects and. Precincts Wanted two and I've Learned The
golo don buckingham, is on it and we're going to
(01:38:17):
get to the. Bottom of it this isn't the end.
Of this story we're going to make sure that those
dollars are spent the way that the voters are intended.
In twenty, Eighteen, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:38:27):
Tom let, me quickly ask because we're running out of
time and you're kind of cutting down to here a,
Little bit here so would it be fair to say
that what we're dealing with HERE is, what i guess
for lack of a better term of bait. And switch situation,
in other words the money that's been allocated is not
necessarily going to the projects it. Was allocated for it's
being moved around for other projects in the. Name of
(01:38:48):
equity in other districts that don't, include your precinct, because
after All. You're a republican.
Speaker 21 (01:38:55):
That's, A. Perfect description jimmy it's a classic. Bait and
switch we tell you one thing, in twenty Eighteen And
then rodney allis goes through with his flawed formula all
the projects into his precinct and precinct, two.
Speaker 4 (01:39:11):
Got you okay so obviously you're going to shine the
light of. Day on this there's gonna be people who
are going to be looking at the books on this
at the end. Of, the day, though you know what
can be done are where these projects at as far as.
The completion are are enough of them not instituted yet
or have not been started yet that this can, still be.
Speaker 21 (01:39:30):
Changed yeaes sir because the good news is many of
the projects that don't want to do because they're not
in their precinct, their shove already and many of the
projects to do they haven't. Even begun, designed so yeah
we've got, A great, opportunity i think to slow this
thing down and get the money where it belongs and
(01:39:51):
what we voted on.
Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
In twenty, eighteen, all right sir keep fighting.

Lower interest rate now this assumption will be extended, so
much though that if it, didn't get extended it would
be a real shock. To the system and that's what everybody's.
Working to avoid the debt is more of a front
and Center topic. In america today the levels have gotten
to where there's More concern among biparson and. Things like
that SO that's why i think there's hope back and
about ten to twelve years Ago there's a byparson commission.
Speaker 1 (01:55:48):
To try to figure out.
Speaker 47 (01:55:49):
HOW solve this i think you can see efforts to
push through.
Speaker 3 (01:55:52):
Some way to manage.
Speaker 47 (01:55:53):
This More effectively but i'd say that the tax is
really everybody's assuming.
Speaker 1 (01:55:57):
To get through it would be real.
Speaker 47 (01:55:57):
Shocked the, System THEY don't so i think that's a
number one just to take away that tail.
Speaker 3 (01:56:02):
Risk of it.
Speaker 48 (01:56:02):
Not being, Extoded, and yet kevin we Just spoke with
mia McGinnis from the Committee For, a responsible budget who
continues to say that there could be more cuts to
get us out of this ten year expectation that we're
going to have deficits of two point two trillion.
Speaker 1 (01:56:17):
A year and debt of almost sixty trillion by.
Speaker 9 (01:56:20):
Twenty, thirty five.
Speaker 49 (01:56:22):
Look the bottom line is that if we get, three
percent growth then we're going to have four trillion dollars
more REVENUE than, the cbo score which means that already
the deficit is going. Down BY trillions the cbo has
told us that the tariffs that are. Already In place
president trump's tariffs that are already in place are going
to give us extra revenue of two point eight trillion.
Speaker 3 (01:56:42):
Over ten YEARS and.
Speaker 49 (01:56:44):
The doge cuts people Forget about. The doge custs they
don't count in the big beautiful build because you can't
have managed discretionary spending in. A reconciliation package We've now
accumulated doge cuts that we can Send to the House
and the senate to send.
Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
Back and to give the people their money back of
one hundred and. Sixty billion dollars that's almost two trillion.
Speaker 49 (01:57:03):
Over Ten years says so this is the, biggest deficit
reduction the most specially responsible package in The history of.
Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
American, Fiscoot, policy.

Speaker 9 (01:57:18):
Little more dubbish to be.
Speaker 48 (01:57:19):
HONEST with you i think he is going to cut
rates and it's going. To happen soon but he continues
to say he's in no rush to cut rage because
he's watching to see if in fact the. Tariffs trigger
inflation what's your, Answer, To.
Speaker 49 (01:57:30):
That, kevin right well we've seen that the tariffs, haven't triggered,
Inflation then YOU marie and i have talked about this
over and Over on. Your sunday show out of this
show that if You tax the chinese and it's, an
elastic Supply then the chinese beare.
Speaker 3 (01:57:42):
Of the tax and that's.
Speaker 49 (01:57:43):
What we're seeing we've got the lowest inflation that we've
seen in, over four YEARS and the fed has given
us about the highest Interest, rates on earth while other
countries around the world. OF ayre cutting i got to
say THAT if the fed, respects its independence then it
should pay Attention to what republicans ARE.
Speaker 12 (01:58:00):
