Good afternoon, Jim, how are you?

I was gonna, I was gonna. I was gonna let
you know.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
You guys had a fantastic job at the house about
six years ago. You'll put in a an electric on
demand water heater for me. That thing works like a
sewing machine, I tell you. But uh, the uh the
hard water has finally gotten I think gotten to that.
The copper heating elements inside that electric unit, okay, and

(03:49):
they they need to be replaced. Uh. I ordered some
from the manufacturer. I got I got them out at
the house right now, and I'm just, uh, I want
to talk to you first to see which one of
your texts you'd recommend putting that heating element and a
new flow sensor in that unit. It looks like there's

a lot of wires in there.

Speaker 9 (04:14):
There is a lot of wires. And before ordering those parts,
did you talk to them because a lot of times,
if it's just a scale build up, it can be
cleaned out before you have to replace it.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I did talk to him, and then they said that
copper would be too sensitive ye to blow it out
or to cleaning out with some top of a chemical solution.
So I just went ahead and ordered a couple of
new milk heating elements. It is one unit, but yeah,
both of those heating elements are really combined into one unit. Ye.

Speaker 9 (04:50):
So call the office and talk with Chris at the office.
He's the master plumber there and and uh, okay, what
he'll be able to do is since we put it in,
he can pull up the records as far as what
it is and be able to have the right technician

for it. Right.

Well, I know that both of those copper heating elements,
they're kind of like canister shaped like a canister, and
when I open it up, I put my hand when
I turn the hot water on, and I put my
hand on one of those canisters. It's hot, but the
other one is cold. And I'm wondering if both of

(05:35):
those kick on at the same time, or if they
work independently of one another. And I've talked to the
manufacturer and they will not tell me. Can you believe it?

Speaker 9 (05:47):
Well, because they're probably not sure. It depends on what
it is. But typically the way it will work is
if it only needs one, it will only kick on one.
If the waterflow picks up or the temperature of the
water is colder, then it'll click on both of them
in order to produce enough hot water.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Right, Okay, Well over the winter, I mean I had
a I had you know, it seemed like it was struggling.
I know, it got cold, pretty cold, uh you know,
from for a few days yep. And uh that that
that that house is fully pexed out, and that that
hot water had to travel a long ways to get

(06:32):
to that master bathroom. And I'm wondering if it just
lost if it lost uh you know, heat traveling that far.
You know it can't.

Speaker 9 (06:42):
But but if if it was, but it shouldn't, so
I'm guessing that you may have an issue with one
of the heating elements. If it wasn't staying hot like that.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Well, I'll tell you what. After y'all replace it, I'm
going to find out whether if it was uh a
heating element or just uh you know the cold weather
and yeah, you know, and that that water traveling. I
fixed to find out that answer. They wouldn't tell me,
you know, they just wanted me to order a new
uh you know, a new heating element for it. And

they say, if're gonna replace that, you might as we
might as well replace the flow sensor as well, you know,
in it, you know, because that's not the only thing
they really go wrong with them. Yeah, but uh, since
y'all install it, I tell you, I think, I tell
you it's been working great and uh it's uh it's
lowered my electric bill considerably, you know, from that conventional

water heater. But uh, but uh, I'll give I'll give
Danielle a holler on Monday. But I appreciate the information,

own house. I would never go back to a tank
water heater. It's just a night and day difference. Gary,

Got a plumbing problem at a house built in sixty eight.
One of them deals on a bathroom sink that once
a year has to be cleaned out, and they've cleaned
it out.

Speaker 11 (08:34):
This time we weren't able to.

Speaker 10 (08:36):
Clean it out and they hit the mud.

Speaker 9 (08:38):
Uh oh.

Speaker 10 (08:41):
Yeah, so it's close to one of the outside walls
in the house. Talk to me about tunnel and get
this think fixed.

Speaker 9 (08:50):
Do you have cast iron or is it PVC?

Speaker 2 (08:54):
You know they said it has cast iron.

Speaker 9 (08:56):
Okay. If it has cast iron, typically you're gonna end
up replacing the whole system. The life span of the
cast iron has lived its life. In most cases, rarely
we're able to go in and just do a repair.
Ninety nine point nine percent of the time it is

(09:18):
a replacement system. And typically what we look at is
a couple of things. You got to look at where
all the sewer lines are running. If like they're on
outside walls, well then it's less expensive to bring everything
out and route it around the house. If there's bathrooms
that are in the middle of the house, well then

(09:38):
it requires more tunneling to get to those bathrooms, in
which case it is a lot of times less expensive
to just go ahead and replace it in the tunnels
and run it the same way that it was. And obviously,
if you've got a foundation issue at the same time
in that situation, you can address the foundation and the
plumbing together. So it's really going to depend on what

(10:05):
exactly is going on. I will tell you because I
just finished doing a show in Dallas and I had
a very similar call where the home homeowner in that
situation was quoted a price well over thirty thousand to
replace the cast iron pipes. And for my experience, when

(10:31):
Deus is bidding them, that is an exception to the
rule that it's usually not that expensive. So is it expensive, absolutely,
But the things you got to look for when you're
hiring somebody is, look, if you're going to do a
bunch of tunneling under the house, it's going to require
some underpinning to support that foundation because it's impossible to

(10:53):
put the soil back the way it was, so you've
got to have some peers there of some kind to
support the foundation to keep it from settling in the
next couple of years. And that's going to be the
big thing.

Speaker 10 (11:08):
Okay, So what's the process. Do you come out a
run a camera down there and get an idea what
you're looking at? Or can you you.

Speaker 9 (11:21):
Can, but a lot of times on a cast iron system,
what we're going to do is a static tests first,
verify yes, there is a leak, and depending on how
bad it is, we'll determine what we're going to do.
Because if the pipes are real bad, truthfully, we don't
like running the cameras in them because they get stuck
and it breaks. It cuts and breaks the cameras. So

it'll depend on the shape condition of the pipes. But
you can usually get a pretty good idea of where
the pipes are, and the pipes don't have to run
the exact same as they were before. So we look
at how do we hook up all the fixed with
the shortest amount of digging. Okay, I have a guy

Is this something that that insurts participates in.

Speaker 9 (12:12):
Ooh, that's a great question. I got to put you

we left, I was talking with Gary and Gary had
a question as far as the sewer pipes when they leak,

(15:55):
does your insurance cover it? And Gary, I got good
news and bad news. In some cases they do cover it,
but you typically have to have a special rider for
that to happen. It used to be when we all
had homeowners B policies, we all had coverage. Then they
made it a separate add on coverage. So unless you

(16:18):
took on one of the add ons, you won't have coverage.
And even if you do have coverage, what they cover
is access to and damage caused by the leak. And
so you know, like I just when I was doing
the du West foundation repair ad there, I talked about
how the plumbing can cause a lot of foundation issues.

(16:41):
In that situation, they would cover both the digging access
to get to the pipes, they would cover the foundation
damage caused by it, but they wouldn't cover the replacement
of the pipe itself, which is actually the cheap part
of the job. Does it make sense? No, But that
is the way the policies written.

But it's gonna all depend on if you have that
endorsement or not.

People will try to tell you got to have this
done immediately or it's going to cause major problems to
your home. Yes, it can cause major problems. Do you
have to have it done immediately or you're destined for
the No, don't let somebody try to tell you we've
got to have somebody out here next week or this
is going to be a major problem.

Is this is the connection from the sinks to the sewer. Yeah,
nothing else is effected. There used to be a single
sink in the bathroom. Years ago. We put a double
sink and teed it into the wall. This house burnt
down in nineteen ninety nine, so it's had some retrowork

done anyway, It's it's just the sinks don't work. But
the problem is a damn air conditioner grand ghosts into
that sink line. Ah, well, but be trap under knee,

(19:09):
so we'll keep on having a problem.

And what what I'm talking about though, is that one
can be repaired for now while you're dealing with getting
everything else ready and and and make making arrangements on
the rest.

Hey, thanks for taking my call, mister Dutton. So I've
got a I've got an air conditioning unit that's coming
up on. It's into life. It's over twenty years old.
They don't make parts for it anymore a lot of
the times, and the EPA is kind of frowning at
the type of free on that it uses. So it's
a lot more expensive. So I'm thinking about getting a

new AC system. And since I uh, since I live
alone in a three bedroom house, there's really no sense,
especially you know, economically to cool or heat the entire
house if I'm only in one room for the day.

Right.

I wanted to get your input on many splits.

Speaker 9 (20:47):
Love them, I use I use them all the time.
I have too many split systems in my own house.

Speaker 13 (20:56):
Would you say that they're pretty pretty energy efficient as well?

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (21:01):
Absolutely, yeah, they're they're now, they're like anything else. You
can get some that are not real energy efficient, but
many splits are actually can be more energy efficient than
traditional AC systems.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
I see, I.

Speaker 13 (21:19):
See yeah, because basically the issue I'm having is not
just the age, but I'm also paying more because whoever
lived in the house before me or before that person,
they had probably some friend of a friend. You know
how those things can go. Oh yeah, put some random
AC unit in there. But I had a technician come out.

(21:41):
He said, this AC unit is way too big for
your house. So you know, it's not running as long
as it's supposed to. So you're getting those content on off.

eight seven four. I was talking with Steve in Pasadena
when we had to go, and you know Steve on
the mini splits. The best part of those things is
you can have a head unit in each different room,

(23:31):
one outside compressor unit, and so you can have different
temperatures in all the rooms. Uh, even to the point
where you can have heat going in one room and
cool going in another. So yeah, it really does help
a lot, I guess.

My My question with mini splits.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Is how does how do the.

Speaker 13 (23:54):
Smaller rooms like bathrooms, how do they get you know,
circulation after you know, like a shower and stuff like that.

Speaker 9 (24:04):
It definitely is different. You know, old homes didn't used
to have an air vent, even in the in the bathrooms.
That's something we put in later. Uh. And so with
bathrooms you got a choice. You don't put a unit
in there typically unless it's a really big bathroom. But
what you have is a vent that can be used

to bring air, say from the hallway into the bathroom.

Speaker 13 (24:33):
I see, or just use the second switch on the wall,
that ventilation switch.

Speaker 9 (24:41):
The switch is better known as the fart fan.

Speaker 13 (24:42):
Yep, yeah, yeah, yeah, that one there And then well,
I guess since since it will pretty much be duckle is,
how would you recommend shutting off those vents that won't
be needed any always at a pretty simple process of
sealing those A.

Little bit of sheet rock repair and they're gone.

I am doing great. So I had gone through your
website and I called up and I spoke with it
a young lady, and I ordered a door. They came out,
they measured. I'm going to have the door installed in
a couple of weeks. And I didn't call you and

tell you any of that because I wanted to go
through the process like everybody else. And boy, they sure
make it easy to get a door, don't they?

You know, I was wondering about that. I asked Becky,
the person who helped you, because she brought it to
my attention that we had already gone to measure and
you had already placed your order. And I'm like, Jim
didn't call me, and I'm like, that sneaky guy, that
sneaky sucker.

Speaker 9 (26:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 16 (26:33):
So yeah, I think all that happened without me knowing
anything about it.

Speaker 9 (26:39):
Yeah, and she didn't. I didn't know she even knew
who I was, because when I when I booked it
and everything, she didn't say nothing. And I wasn't going
to bring it up. I just I wanted to go
through the process like everybody else. But uh, you know,
it's nice because she's able to help you choose what
you're looking for and your your website, even though when

you first look at it and you're just seeing all
the doors, you think, Okay, well I'm gonna look at
these doors and then I got a call and do this,
that and the other. No, she made it so simple.
Once I told her what what I was looking at,
she narrowed it down and and I think we got
we picked the uh is it rain glass so that
you get the light through but not a lot of

vision through it. And uh, I'm really looking forward to
it being installed.

we we you know, we've been doing this long enough
that I think we've done everything there is to do
wrong and so we're done doing that doing anything wrong.

here you know, quite some time, including Becky that helped
you the other day. Yeah, so we know exactly what

customers that may have a weird situation going on with
a front door because the way of a home was
built or so forth. And so anyway, we try to
bring solutions to the table and and and all the
options that are out there as far as glass textures

that can offer you more. You offer the light coming in,
and but but I'll still offer you some more obscurity
so that you know, nobody can just see straight through
your front door, as an example, or an iron grills.

You not exactly? So, you know, a lot of people
don't realize that there is such a choice indoors, I
mean wood doors, the fiberglass of course, the iron doors
and things like that. But even in the glass itself,

(29:19):
whether you wanted a half glass, three quarter glass, you know,
two thirds glass, there's there's a lot that goes into
getting that door the way you want it.

Speaker 16 (29:32):
Yeah, and that's and that's the reason why we uh
two things. One we had obviously have the website, but
we also highly encourage folks to come visit us at
the showroom because we can show people all the different
options of the layout of a door, whether it's more glass,
less glass, you know, more more more of a of

(29:54):
a of a panel look if they want to achieve that,
or sometimes we got people that you know, they want
a more flatter look because they want to put a
doggy door in it. All these things and and we
do that by the way, we put in doggy doors.
But there's there's just so much that goes into it,
and sometimes people get overwhelmed, and then some people are

(30:16):
just sometimes surprised that there's there's all this to choose,
whether it is fiberglass, and then within fiberglass, you can
get smooth fiberglass, you can get wood grained fiberglass, you
can get painted fiberglass, you can get stained fiberglass. So
you know, it's just all these options, and we try
to make it simple and and and ask the right

questions up front so that we can steer the customer
in the right direction.

one of the biggest things I've learned by going through

your shop, uh, and seeing how you guys do everything.
Most people look at the doors as though it's it's
just a cookie cutter thing. You guys really are customizing
every single door for your customers.

Yeah, especially on wood doors. We carry and stock a
lot of doors and they're all raw, unfinished, and most
of most of them are don't even have any glass
in them. They're open for glass, so the design of
the doors there, but the glass is not there. And
we do that for a reason. Number One, The customer

gets to pick the glass.

So whether they want.

Clear glass or Flemish glass, or satin glass or rain
glass or decorative glass with lead in it and on
and on. You know, they get to make that choice,

And even the even to the trim. I mean I
had the option of using my existing trim or putting
new trim that was stained like the door was. And
as I looked at it, I said, oh man, no,
let's go with the stained trim because that'll that'll really
just set it off and look gorgeous. In there.

Yeah, that that's a little bit, a little a touch there.
That again adds some personality to to the door. You know,
we have we try to work with customers and every
you know, situations different. But in some cases we have
customers that say, hey, all of my interior trim in
my house is the same and I don't want to

change it, and it's all white or rage or whatever.
So we respect that and we say, okay, you know,
if we can reuse your trim and so that you
can maintain that look with them and still have that
new door. You know, we definitely try to do that. Uh,
but when we go in and put new trim and
it's and it's the same material as the door and

it's stayed to match, really makes it look nice.

Yeah, yes, sir so.

And and honestly my place was that way. All the
trim is white and everything. And and when I when
I finished picking the door, and then I was uh
trying to decide on that, I looked at it because
I was on the phone with her as I was
doing it, and I said, yeah, that's pretty boring to
go back with that white. Let's just replace it. And

then when the guy came out to verify measurements and everything.
You know, it just solidifies the whole thing. And I
got to tell you you've got a great operation going.

back on this trim thing, the front door sometimes is
in some cases is a little bit isolated from the
rest of the house as far as you know, what
if you're standing in a certain place, you know you

While on your front door, if you trim it out

in two thousand and six, it's twenty years old. I
have original water heater and hating fine, no licks. Do
you think it's a time to replace one? Because what
is the life of the water heater? And if I

need to replace, what do you recommend?

As long as the water heater is still working good
and it doesn't show any signs of leaking or anything yet,
I wouldn't worry about replacing it. Just make sure you
have a pan under it so if it does start leaking,
the water gets captured and drained out rather than causing
you any type of problems. And I would make sure

to have a sensor in that drain pan under it
so that if it starts leaking, you get notified right away.
That's that's really your biggest issue. As far as longevity
water heaters, I mean, the warranty on them is typically
five years, but they last fifteen to twenty thirty years.

Don't replace it unless you have to.

concrete blocks. You know that they were like a one
foot wide by one foot tall, four inches thick, and
they had a like a geographical pattern in the center.
They are open, and they used to use them, you know,

like closing patios and stuff like that. They open, though
not the old standard concrete block. And I've tried finding
those things and I can't find them anywhere. I just
want to if they're just an antique now they're not.

When you're saying open, are you talking about the the
old eighty eight by sixteen's that had basically the the
two holes in the middle with the concrete thing and
barred down the.

sell them that you know of?

Well, the manufacture of it would still be Best Block,
this block. And you know, as far as where you
can buy them, I mean there's different concrete supply stores.
Some of the box stores carry some of that stuff,

but not very much. But uh, if you'll check with
Best Block, they be able to tell you a retailer
who would carry their product.

Okay, where are they located at? What? What tail or

You won't be able to go there because it's it's
a commercial they go in in there, you're going to
have to have an eighteen wheeler. But you can call
them and they be able to tell you where a
retail center would be in town.

But okay, are you are you looking for the four

I have a question about my skylights on the house.
I had them replaced last year when the roof was replaced.
I think they're polycarb. There were like four by two
something in that shape, and we've had problems with them
crackling and popping, and the roofer has come out and
tried to work on them and adjust them, but they

(53:31):
and the manufacture of them both said this is a
normal phenomena and it can take months for them to
settle down. I'm just curious what your opinion is if
this is true.

Speaker 9 (53:43):
Yeah, because it's the building materials expanding contracting with the
temperature changes, and they're made so tight because they don't
want leaks that as the built materials expand and contract,
their sly against each other. So yes, it can happen,
and quite honestly, it may never stop.

Speaker 20 (54:06):
Okay, well that was my question because I want to
know if I should just have them replaced or if
it's just something I'm going to have to accept.

Speaker 9 (54:16):
Now, typically the only time you ought to really be
hearing it is going to be like early morning, you know,
once the sun is coming up, then it'll start to
heat up and that's when it'll change. And then in
the evening, once the sun goes down, you'll hear it again. Uh,
and usually after about an hour after sundown, it ought

(54:39):
to dissipate.

Speaker 20 (54:40):
And that's exactly that's exactly what they're doing. And actually
during the winter it wasn't very often at all. And
now that the sun's been back out, well not today,
but now that the sun's been back out and heating up,
it's doing it again. So what you said is exactly
what's happening.

Speaker 9 (54:57):
Yeah, so yeah, it's it's just because of how tight
they have to make them to be able to withstand
the weather. And uh, I don't know that there's really
much that anybody can do to change that.

Speaker 20 (55:12):
Okay, Well, I was just hoping they may settle down
to the original ones that were on there weren't doing this,
but they were like fifteen years old and they were
all yellow, and that's why we got them replaced.

Speaker 9 (55:21):
But well, and these ones are, like they said, these
ones will probably settle down, but I wouldn't want to
tell you they'll go away completely because it'll still be
there some.

Speaker 20 (55:32):
Okay, Well, yeah, that's fine.

Yes? Just fine. My question is should I remove an
abandoned concrete drainage pipe from under my house? Is it
affecting my foundation? My story is the nineteen ninety nine
during old drainage pipe nineteen fifty two house was the

(56:14):
drainage system under the house was rerouted. The old concrete
pipe was left under the house and it's still there.
But I'm wondering someone said that should have been removed.
Does it affect the foundation or the house or is
it okay to be down there?

Speaker 9 (56:32):
Well, as long as it's not still hooked up to
the sewer system where the sewer can back up. It
is fine.

Speaker 14 (56:40):
Okay.

Speaker 9 (56:42):
Normally, if I'm doing a line, I'm taking it out
because I don't want to have a path that can
allow moisture to travel, and that's what that pipe does.
But it should be pretty limited or as far, especially
if it's not looked up to the city sewer any longer.

Speaker 14 (57:03):
No as okay, that's what you said. Dug down. Recently
water was coming out of the abandoned pipe of the
plumber saying ma'am, you have a leak. So what you
just said, there is a flow of water coming through
that pipe and we don't know where it's coming from.

Speaker 9 (57:23):
If that is the case, that then that pipe need
it needs to be looked at. Where's this water coming from?
That needs to be addressed, and you may have to
take it out then.

Speaker 14 (57:34):
Okay. Could it be ground water then, because it's not
connected to anything.

Speaker 9 (57:41):
How much water is coming out?

Speaker 5 (57:44):
It would.

Speaker 14 (57:48):
Steady bubbling slow the joints of two pieces of tile
or concrete. It was broken, so it was coming out
of that broken joint, had a steady flow for four
to five minutes, no odor, no bubbles, clear and then

(58:08):
it stopped. So it was the finite dowars whatever it was, and.

Speaker 9 (58:19):
Pardon and then and then it stops running.

Speaker 14 (58:22):
Then it stopped though a week or so later. That
was the foundation people who dug and saw that. Then
a week or so later, the plumbers were out here,
and I don't know if it if they were down
there long enough to see it stop, it was coming out.
It's I don't know. The hole that has been dug

(58:44):
and left open remains filled with water, But then another
hole remains filled with water, so that's probably groundwater.

Speaker 9 (58:50):
Yeah, did anybody try pumping the holes down and running
a camera up through that pipe?

Speaker 14 (59:01):
I don't think the plumber ran a camera. I don't think.
I don't think you ran a camera. Okay, but I
wasn't out there for you know, I was watching them.
The foundation people pumped the whole so we could see
the pipe. They pumped it dry so we could see
the pipe and water flowing out. There were foundation people,

(59:24):
the no camera. The plumbers came out. I don't know
if they ran a pipe.

Speaker 9 (59:29):
Or not, because and here's what I'm wondering, I mean,
because you said it's coming out through the tile. So
let me ask you a couple of quick questions. How
long ago was that the sewer system replaced nineteen ninety nine.
How long ago did this problem start?

Speaker 14 (59:51):
Were you discovered it this week? So I don't know
how long the water's been flowing.

Speaker 9 (59:58):
Yeah, but it hadn't been flowing all noticeably all these years, right.

Speaker 14 (01:00:03):
I hadn't dug a hole. The hole was three feet.

Speaker 9 (01:00:06):
Deep, so I see, okay, So it didn't start until
they dug the hole.

Speaker 14 (01:00:11):
We dug the hole and saw it gotcha.

Speaker 9 (01:00:14):
Okay, that's the part of okay.

Speaker 14 (01:00:18):
So we dug down about three feet down. He was
checking out the piers on the foundation. Dug down about
three feet and saw the pipe, and they thought I
had a plumbing leak. I said, oh no, that's an
abandoned pipe.

Speaker 9 (01:00:33):
In general, it shouldn't be an issue. But I would
run a camera up through that pipe to see what's there, uh,
and just to verify, because if all it is is
a straight pipe underneath there and it got some groundwater
in it, that ran, no big deal. Good. The groundwater

(01:00:54):
is going to be there anyways. But what I want
to verify is that it doesn't have maybe a condensation
line that's still running down to it or something like
that that is dissipating the water into the soil.

Speaker 14 (01:01:14):
We'll see camera to see if condensation line I'm writing
this down runs through it.

Speaker 9 (01:01:21):
Yeah, well to see if any pipe's attached to it
that have water coming through.

Speaker 14 (01:01:26):

You think if you want something that can go in
the kitchen, also you can go with either a tile
floor or a LamaH floor. Uh. You know some of
the some of the lamanans that are available nowadays, they're waterproof,
they are in water resistance and they can look exactly
like wood floors. In fact, some of them even have

a wood veneer in them, so that it is wood,
but it's protected. Uh. And that's what a lot of
the newer homes are going with nowadays because they are
so endurable uh.

they're good anywhere. But the thing you got to remember
about tile. The bigger the area that you do in tile,
the more likely you are you're going to get a
hairline crack in it, because concrete under the tile does
crack and that will come through the tile.

about ten years old, and when we built it, it's
got some interior columns, but they were never insulated. So
they put the thermostat, my ACN heating thermostat on one
of those walls. So it doesn't really seem to regulate.

Well it doesn't, I mean simply it doesn't. So what
would it take to move it to a different wall.

Speaker 9 (01:15:42):
It doesn't take a whole lot. I mean they got
to pull the wire from the AC unit or to
wherever you want the new thermostat, so that that's really
going to be the only limit on it.

Speaker 12 (01:15:57):
And then they have to feed it back down.

Correct, they got That's what I mean. They got pulled
a wire from the thermostat I'm sorry, from the unit
that's in the attic or closet or wherever it's at,
over to the thermostat. Uh, the existing wire for the
thermostat that's there. Now that can just be abandoned. No
big deal.

Oh really, yeah, well we can.

I mean, it's no big deal to shot rocket and
cover it up.

me some samples and I threw them in the back

They got rained on, they go out, I'd go through
the car washes everything. I pulled them out and you
couldn't tell those things that even been touched. So it's
durable as heck.

No adhesive. They locked together and they're floating floors. Oh

So outside I think would be too abusive for it.

my attic has got the radio barrier and adequate insulation,
but as you well know, it gets hot in there,
and that atticts fan, that solar addict fan went out
on me, and I can't afford to replace it right
now until the end of the year. So I was wondering,

can I put a regular plugin fan up there not
worry about it?

How would he be cool until there?

But what I would do is go up there and
remove the covers from the underside so that you can
let air out through the opening that that fan was at. Yeah,

The issue was running a fan up in there is one.
You're just circulating the air in the attic. You're not
removing the air from the attic. The second is it's
hot enough in those attics that that motor will end
up burning out on you on the fan.

And you're using electricity for something that's just not going
to do any good. So you're you're just burning electricity
for no reason.
