hundred two minute drives this year in practice, and we
had great confidence that we could go down and get

So on that final drive, you had talked at halftime saying, hey,
we're gonna throw the ball as much do what we
have to do, run it, throw it. What did you
make of it? We haven't talked about Gordi enough this year.
What about the play calling and just the ability for
him to draw stuff up?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Well, it's Gordian, it's the staff, it's he's one of
the best offensive coordinators in all college football. And that
is not even in dispute. I mean, nobody can dispute
that he's brilliant. I've said it all year. He's a
great play caller, he is a great football mind. He's
one of the best football coaches I've ever been around
in my life, and I've been around Hall of famers,

and yeah, Gordy samus is he's special. He's special, and
that staff is special. But it all comes down to
the players going out and making it happen. And the
players went out and made it happen.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And there's so many guys we could talk about. I'll
start with Finnano Joe, who's up to twenty eight touchdowns
one interception this season. Somehow saved his best performance for
last with almost four hundred and fifty yards today. What
steadying hand does he have as that seventh year guy.
Just on that final drive, it just encapsulated his whole
college career.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It felt like, yeah, that's a great way to put it.
I think it reminds me of us saying calm is contagious,
and that's a Navy Seal thing. Calm is contagious, and
Joe is so calm all the time, and so that
just permeates the offensive group. You know, they go out
there and it's natural to feed off a quarterback. When
your quarterback is calm and he's cool, he's collected, it's contagious,

and you know, he just never doubts himself. He has
great confidence in the people around him. Twenty eight touchdowns
and one interception. I'm sure there's some kind of record
that that broke. I mean, you know he listen, Joe Fiano.
I haven't said this, Joe. He's not on the stage
in New York with the final three for the Heisman.

Then it is a crying shame with what he's done
this year. And you can say we're a group of
five team. Let me tell you something. There's there are
us in TWU Lane are the only group of five
teams that have played three Power Conference teams. No other
group of five team has played three. Only to Lane
and US we're the only two that have beat two
and Joey Figiano has a lot to do with it.

So all that group of five stuff, Joey Figiano should
be in the Heisman contention. He should be in the
final three. He should be sitting on the stage in
New York City when they announced the Heisman period.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
And the only thing that's left is we've got a
couple of weeks before an eventual Bowl game. What do
you want to see out of this group over the
next couple of weeks, just in terms of enjoying time
to gather down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I don't want to see him for a week. A
lot of them are leaving from here. I want him
to go home. I want him to enjoy Thanksgiving with
their family, and they'll come back a week from Monday
and then we'll see what we do. We'll probably get
a little work in, but I want him to go
shut it down. They've earned that. I'm not to say
that they've earned it different than deserving it. They've earned it,
and I want them to go enjoy great time with

their family.

You got a year older on Wednesday, and you got
one more year older today.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I think, no, no, no, no, no, I didn't get a
year older. I get younger every time I do this.
This is this is what I do, This is who
I am. The age is a freaking number and it
does not even exist in my world. I challenge anyone
to come come climb a freaking mountain with me.

If you think
