are biting into them and are exposed to the gel inside.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Powered by Carter Subru. Gonna be cloudy mid seventies today.
Federal forecasters warning the Columbia River basin here in Washington

they wouldn't be surprised if new records are set by
later this month, heading into peak fire season. Speaking of fires,

Link light rail service back to normal after a damaged

Following the team's victory over Morocco yesterday. France will next

soon be able to add a Mount Saint Helen's license

(12:36):
plate to their vehicles. The Mount Saint Helens Institute will
auction the rights to the first twenty five plates beginning
on Saturday. Costco has been hit with a class action
lawsuit alleging that one of the products itself contains dangerous
levels of heavy metals, including lead, arsenic, and cadmium. The
lawsuit centers on organe protein powders, which are very popular.
I have a bottle of organ creatine at my house.

(12:58):
Look how jacked I I am. It's all that good
heavy metal. O. No, hey, and not the good kind.
Oh no, not the college in pite too, doubling up

(13:21):
on the heavy metals. National French Friday is today. Plenty
of deals to celebrate the day. I found deals at Arby's,
Chick fil A, McDonald's, Popeyes, Wendy's and more. I hate
to tell you, because I know that you've been eating
super healthy bender. You're probably teed up for some French
fries right about ready to go. You haven't had one thing.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
No, I've I've cut off I've cut off fast food,
I've cut off coke, I've cut out carbs, all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
And you haven't even been in a terrible mood, which
I know an amazing progression from the last time you
went healthy and you were miserable.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
I am contemplating having pancakes this morning. I've been for
Flapjack Friday here at the office. Yeah, it's not the
worst thing in the world.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
No, I mean one, you could have two, and maybe
he'll put blueberries and then you'll have some good aniochs.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Just to give you an idea as to the kind
of willpower I've been having. Jody gave me two bags
of those little dont dont Hostess donuts and they're still sitting.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
He hasn't had one.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
They're still sitting here.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
And every day he goes today donut or another frigging
protein shake, and then I go.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Have a pantein shake. I go or have one or
two donuts, not twelve. But you haven't even opened him. Nope,
I'm really proud of you.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
A woman found out You're jack full of Cadmium.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
A woman found out that her grandfather was Charles Manson,
so she made a documentary about it. You could check
out the trailer on the Jody and Bender Facebook page.
In theaters this weekend, Mowanna, Evil, Dead Burn and the Invite.
In Sports, Marlins swept Us Not Cool. The Mariners have
the Raised Today, Storm Lost to the Dream, they have
the Mystics. On Sunday Rain Portland's Sunday Today. You can

(15:05):
watch Spain versus Belgium tomorrow it's Norway versus England. That's
the game to watch, and so is Argentina versus Switzerland
also tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
Up next.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Tonight, the goats and the sheep show up at the
Bender Ranch. Hicks goats, two sheep, that is correct. I'm
so excited the family that we're adopting them from.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
Remember.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
By the way, if you're brand new to the show,
good morning, that's Joe, that's Bender. I bought a home
up in Snowholmish has some land. Rach and I my wife,
we decided, hey, we're going to get some some farm aanils.
We wanted to get some goats. We had rented like
thirty goats last year to help clear out the past year, right,
and we fell in love with them. We're like, oh

(15:52):
my god, we need to have animals.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
And you had, you guys were set up like when
you bought the house, you were like seventy five percent
of the way there.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Correct, you had to put up.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Some extra fencing and do some extra stuff, but you
you already had like the infrastructure in place.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yes, So just wasn't up to your standing. So fast
forward to us getting ready. We were gonna we had
already adopted, We were about ready to adopt five baby goats,
and that was gonna happen at the end of August.
And we got a call from Pewtet Sound Goat Rescue
earlier this week that said, hey, there's a family in Redmond.

(16:27):
They need to rehume their goats and sheep. Would you
be willing to take them?

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Right?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
We know you guys are poised to accept some animals.
We have some an emergency, urgent situation.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
So we said yes.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
So we have six goats between the ages of two
and four and two sheep, I guess are on the
same age.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
All of the animals, by the way, have been bottle
fed perfect, so they're like dogs okay to people, right,
they're not feral. The family that they're coming from have
small so we have no issues with Mackenzie. So we're
ready to go. The goats are showing The goats and
the sheep are showing up tonight. Yeah, very exciting. Last minute,
we had some last minute stuff we had to do,

(17:12):
Like we had to build a pen to reduce the
size of where they were going to be around the stables.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Yeah, so economy fence. They set that whole thing up, and.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Then we needed to put we have two stables, but
they're called open range stables, so three walls and a roof.
But I needed to put doors on them to make
sure that predators can't get to the mental exactly.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Yeah, or like during a storm exactly, anytime you want
to keep them in one spot.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
So I needed to find somebody, and we need to
find somebody fast, and we had contractors ghosting us like whatever.
Jody says, Hey, you should call my ex because David's
a contractor. So I called David and we'd set the
whole thing up, and David and his crew are at
my house right now putting up the stable doors for

(18:02):
the sheep and the garden yesterday.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
No, yeah, you got to tell it how it actually happened.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
You're sitting yesterday, You're looking at your phone sort of
shaking your head during a song, and I'm like, what's
going on. You're like, man, these guys, you know, like
you can't always get them to respond, and we need
this to happen right away, and I'm having a hard
time finding a contractor that's responding in the timely manner.
And I go, well, unfortunately, you know we have to
do here.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
We're gonna have to call We're going to have to
call David.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
We're gonna have to call the ex husband. Sometimes you
have to call my ex husband.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
So I talked to David on the way home yesterday
and he loves talking about construction. And when I tell
you get i called him, he answered the phone laughing.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Like it wasn't like it was like a yeah, look
who's here. I'm here, you eat me.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
The last minute.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
So so David and his crew are at the house
right now.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
And yesterday rach and I were were cleaning out the
stalls and it's a very funny video.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
It's hilarious of the Queen of my farm.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Rach is sitting there with her reel barrel and she
is rolling it.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Across the pen and it hits like a and it
just stops breaks her ribs, just stops dead. One of
the other videos up on my Instagram at the Bender
Nation is me at the feed store in Snohomish Daville
feed and we're getting hay and the hay is being
loaded in. I am supervising I'm not lifting the bails.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Of a potentially stupid question. So is the hay for
bedding for the animals or do they eat it?

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (19:48):
No, no, no, no, no, no, chody, no please, oh tell me,
farmer bender.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
They eat the hay.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
They eat the hay.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
And we have two layers of bedding. There's pellets underneath
the it's like shavings.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Oh okay, like cedar shavings, right, Oh, I love how
those smell.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
So we have pellets underneath that absorb everything, and then
you put the shavings on top of it. So it's
two layers and it's completely inside.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
The stable. The lariat.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
That's stuff they're not going to eat.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
That correct everything right, Goats and sheep sheep eat more
than goats, So all.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
This is there knowledge here right. Do you have any
questions for goats or sheep ownership? Mister Knowledge can help you, Jody,
let me explain. The animals sleep on pellets and bedding,
the betting and cedar shavings.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
So when I tell you that our stress level dropped
like one hundred percent yesterday because after David has got
his crew and everything, Yeah, we'll get the doors up
and everything's fine. We were afraid that for the first
couple of nights the animals were going to be out
there after the sun went down. No no, and they

(21:04):
be kind of out there vulnerable. No no, and you
know how they're in the stable with the doors and
the thing.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
I rarely say nice things about my ex husband, but
here's two nice things I'll say.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Don't bring up the hole in the deck.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
No, don't bring up the deck that he built that
I stepped through. I'm sure I was using that deck wrong. Anyway,
I blame myself. Here's two nice things I'm gonna say
about my ex husband. Number One, he's a fantastic contractor
and the guys who work for him are also great,
so you're gonna get two good doors. Number Two, he
understands that he can't mess this up otherwise he'll.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Ruin the World tour.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, and we cannot have the World tour.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
I figured number one was gonna be a great dad.
Number two is gonna.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Be I said, I'm saying two nice things and that's it.
Good morning, Jody and Bender.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
You know, I really love hearing about your passions in
baseball and cobats and sheeps and things, but it is
really not helping my cause of wanting to get goats
because I don't have the yard space or the time
or money to take care of them. So can I
just come over and can play? I need help with yours?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Please?

Speaker 5 (22:16):
The goats and the sheep arrived at the Bendor ranch tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
You know, it occurs to me that you definitely have
a Radiothon auction item on your hand one at the farm.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
But that's not gonna be a leave a talk back
and you get to come over to Bender's house. People
pay good money for that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
In fact, the dinner that was auctioned off at last
year's Radiothon has yet to be paid off. So now
who's ever coming over? Whoever won? And we set this
whole thing up sometime over this summer. They all get
to come see the goats and the sheep.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
And wouldn't it be funny if you said to them, hey, listen,
there's a special bonus now because we have farm animals
and you can pet the animals.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
And they were like, ugh, no, thank you, be like.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Wow, really, no way.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
You know, some people don't like it.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
So they're arriving tonight. We had to do last minute
infrastructure stuff. Some new fencing went up. Jodie's ex husband.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Yeah, husband and his crew.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
He's a contractor and the crew. They're up at the
house right now putting barn doors up on what are
called open range stables. And it was it's like three
walls and a roof, and so we had to put
the doors on there so that the sheep and the
goats can go in there at night and be protected
and whatever.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Yeah, so they say, you need a guy to come
and build some doors. My ex husband's your guy. Doesn't
mean I want to keep being married to him. You
can say nice things about your exes, you know, doesn't
mean you want to still be married to them. I'm
sure he said some nice things about me. Maybe when
I'm not around or maybe he doesn't well when I
get to the house after.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
Standing the globe to find the noose.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
You didn't know you needed to know now that daily
Bender gazette.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
Now here's bender. Oh no, broader by Olympic hot top.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Better you, better life? What's happened now?

Speaker 2 (24:16):
A British Airways flight carrying over three hundred and thirty
passengers was canceled after multiple cabin crew members were allegedly
so intoxicated to work the following day, or to work

(24:36):
following an out of heavy drinking in Barbados.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
The incident involved the staff at a high end resort
the night before the flight from Bridgetown to London. Won
the flight attendants reportedly vomited at the bar, with another
