Speaker 1 (00:05):
Chet Shody's ninety second news Update.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Now it's part super Gonna be cloudy and upper sixties
again today the World Knockout, the World Cup knockout stage
is here, no room for mistakes anymore.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Team USA will play its first.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Win or go home match tonight against Bosnia Herzegovina five
o'clock Santa Clara, California. It'll be the men's first knockout win,
and it'll be the men the US men's first knockout.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I wrote win.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
What what's the superstition around You're not supposed to say.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Win or loss.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
I want to say this.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Is the first win, the first chance that they've had
to play in a knockout round since in twenty four years.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Oh, there you go. That's all.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
People get very superstitious around this kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Nobody in here, well, fine, because or about it.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
You don't really care that much, But people who care
get very super Sich.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
That's not true, Like I have cared more about soccer
in the last two weeks right than at any time
in my life.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Like, for example, when we're at baseball tournaments, Yes, you know,
you have to play all weekend to win, and then
you get games on Sunday. But if you don't win
on Friday and Saturday, you don't play on Sunday. So
when we're talking about plans for Sunday, well we have
to say it in a certain way so that everyone
can discuss without saying like we're definitely.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Going to make it or we're definitely not going to
make it.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Are we going to win today?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Yeah? I think so?

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Okay, Well that chased it.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Damn it.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Other World Cup games today England versus Congo and Belgium
versus Senegal. Grand County Health Department officials have discovered the
presence of West Nile virus and a group of mosquitos
recently tested near Moses Lake. About one in one hundred
and fifty people who are infected develop a severe illness
affecting the central nervous system. So everyone layer on that
deep pretty good if you're in the Moses Lake area.

(02:02):
Washington will begin paying benefits today from the publicly funded
long term care program known as wah Cares. The union
that represents Boeing engineers and technicians is expected to begin
negotiations with their counterpart for the first time in fourteen years,
as it nears the end of its contract Lebron James
leaving the Lakers after eight seasons, the superstar informing the

(02:23):
team that he plans to continue his career elsewhere and
lenter free agency this summer. Likely landing posts are Golden
State or Cleveland. Bender have anything positive to say about
Lebron James, No, didn't think so. Chris Brown ordered to
pay thirteen million dollars to a housekeeper who was attacked
by his dog. Forget about those rumors about Tom Hardy
being fired from the TV show mob Land, which we

(02:43):
both love so much. He will be coming back for
season three. You know what the problem was.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Well, there were the rumors between him and Helen Marrin.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
But it was he didn't He was arguing with the
showrunners and the directors and the writers because he felt like, Hey,
this series was supposed to be about me, Harry Desusa,
not the Harrigans, but then it became more about the harrigans,
and so he was upset at how his role kind
of shrunk. On TV Today, the series premiere of Elle

(03:12):
on Amazon and in Sport, What's Elle? Lexi Mine Tree
stars as Elle Woods in this legally blonde prequel series
about her high school years in Seattle. Also, the late
James Vanderbeek plays the dean of the high school in
what ended up being his final acting role in Sports.
Mariners Beat the Angels Yesterday, They Go again Tomorrow, Storm

(03:34):
Mercury Tomorrow. Ecuador filed a complaint with FIFA because the
night before their World Cup match against Mexico, Mexican fans
camped out in front of their hotel and made noise
all night to keep them awake. How petty Mexico. Wow,
I expect better.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
You're Jodian Mender's song of the day. Either last night
or the night before. They had to cancel their show
like minutes before they went on stage because of a
tornado warning.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Oh yeah, it was actually really crazy where I feel
like it was in France Actually yeah, I know. I
saw this come across too, and their stage got destroyed,
and apparently their stage manager, the person who was working
for them, their tour manager, said I'm not sure if

(04:19):
we should go on, and the people who were running
this particular venue were just like, yeah, you're good, Yeah,
you're right, And then the storm came through and destroyed
everything I can find.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
The French festival set was three days ago. Yeah, and
a tornado was people got injured the verge and they
had to cancel.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, people got injured.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
It was bad again. Time flies coming up, hasn't worked
in twenty five years and gets paid one point one
million dollars every July first.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Is this one of our friends in radio?

Speaker 5 (05:00):
No?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, Bobby Beania, Bobby Banilla. If you're even remotely a
bit of a sports fan, you know that today's Bobby
benia Day used to play for the New York Mets
in two thousand, nineteen ninety nine, two thousand, they wanted
to get rid of him, but he still had five
point nine million dollars left on his contract, and as

(05:22):
opposed to just giving him the five point nine million dollars,
the Mets agreed to pay him one point two million
dollars annually with a negotiated eight and a half percent
annual interest rate from twenty eleven to twenty thirty five,

(05:45):
so not just giving him the six million dollars. Back
in nineteen ninety nine or two thousand, they said, we're
gonna hang on to your money. We're not gonna pay
you for another eleven years. But when we start to
pay you again, we've deferred it we're just gonna give
you a million dollars and we're gonna work it out
with interest and so on and so forth, and we're
gonna pay you. And it turned out to be like,
he's in the middle of a thirty million dollars deal.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Why would they do that? What a bad.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
According to the way this apparently went down, the METS
initiated initially agreed to the interest rate because they expected
to heavily profit from the investment of the five point
nine million dollars tied to a Bernie Madoff deal. The
investments turned out to be the Ponzi scam, leaving the
METS legally obligated to pay Bobby Bania the deferred money,

(06:35):
but also lost all of the money that they were taking.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
They couldn't say him the six million that they owed
him because they were busy.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
They took the six million dollars and gave it to
Bernie Madoff, saying, and I'm gonna where They're gonna make
a freaking fortune. They lost all the money. But then
when it came time to start paying Bobby Benia, now
they're paying him with money that they didn't have at
the time. I mean, obviously the Mets like I think
the owner of the Mets has like more money to
anybody in baseball. However, today July first, Bobby Benia, who

(07:05):
hasn't played baseball in twenty five years, picks up another
check for one point one million dollars and will continue
to do so until twenty thirty five.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Good for him. What a gig, What a gig.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
I'd take that next contract. Jody is going to defer
it all, that's it and not start collecting anything until
she retires.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah, and then I'm gonna sit on my fat ass
and laugh alone.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
You're gonna open up that jersey mics. Yes, that's lady's dream.
Jody's dream is to take every dollar that she's making
in radio. And when she inevitably either retires or, let's
be honest, it gets fired, you're going to open up
a jerseyike.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yes, I am Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Starting today, first time infraction will cost one hundred and
twenty five bucks. Two or more infractions will now cost
two hundred and forty eight bucks. And also, you have
to ask yourself, why do I insist on speeding through
work zones? What is it about me that makes me
want to speed through work zones? King County public health
officials say several cases of gastro intestinal illnesses has been

(08:06):
connected to sushi ace All you Can Eat restaurant in
Seattle's Chinatown International District. You know, the bad part here
is that All you Can Eat Sushi buffet. You hit
it so hard, like, you know, you fast for twelve
hours so that when you go there you get your
money's worth, you know, and if you're eating up all
of the whatever sponged.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Up all of that. Yeah. That ugh.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Sorry, guys, here's some more bad news about things that
can infect you. A parasite commonly carried by foxes and
coyotes that can infect domestic dogs and humans has become
established in the Pacific Northwest. Symptoms and humans may take
years to appear, often don't show up until significant liver

(08:53):
damage has occurred, and it creates big tumors inside it
that people initially think might be cancer, but then when
they take it out in biops, they're like, oh, it's
not cancer, it's that weird coyote tape.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Between the bad sushi and now then I have to
tell you about.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Well, let me finish this by saying that don't let
your dogs eat rodents and if you're handling coyote scat,
please wash your.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Hand hyote scat. You don't know what other people do
coyote scatted. You know what scat is is that coyote feces.
That's what they call it. Yeah, why don't you just
call it coyote feces? Everyone knows what scat is, well clearly,
I don't you watch You don't watch enough alone where they're.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Like, look at this enormous pile of bear scat.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
I need to move my tent immediately.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
You never heard of a scatology.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
No, but I am going to wake up one random
Saturday morning, go out to the pasture, check on the
goat sketch, walk back into the house and say, Rach,
I found a pile of scat and I don't know
what animal came from.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Please we have to google this scat. I've taken six
pictures of it.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Ford is recalling cars from five models because the transmission
may malfunction and become damaged.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I'm shocked.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
I know it's the F one fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
How about that expedition explorer and Lincoln's navigator and aviator.
Forget those rumors about Tom Hardy being fired for Mobland.
He will be back for season three. Check out the
trailer for the animated movie Not Alone, featuring the voices
of Selena Gomez and Timothy Shallamy on the Jody and
Bendor Facebook page, and.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Sports Mariners beat the Eagles, They Go Frans.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
It's Debbie Harry's birthday today. She's been a Rock and
Roll Hall of Famer for twenty years already. They got
inducted in two thousand and six and today she's eighty one.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
But CBGB's on the map. You ever go there once? Yeah,
it's a whole total crap hole.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
It's legendary, but it's a hole.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Uh are you ready? This is This is Jody's favorite
day of the month. I do shine a little bit
here this new month. Knew you what's going on this month?

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Everyone, you never forget you do this stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
I know it's a zero month.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
You what's going on this month?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Well, we're halfway through the year, and here's a couple
things to look forward to in the month of July. Obviously,
July fourth is upon us and it's a big one
because it's America's to itch. Yeah, yeah, you know all
the different things that are going on. If you need
me to tell you we got bigger problems in sports.
The World Cup runs through the nineteenth. We've got the
US game tonight. Tour de France starts this weekend. MLB

(11:39):
All Star Game is July fourteenth, Golf's Open Championship starts
the sixteenth, and the WNBA All Star Game is the
twenty fifth in theaters. Manions and Monsters is out today.
It got really good reviews. Yeah, Live Action Mohana will
be released on the tenth. The Odyssey with Matt Damon
and Zendeia hit theaters on the seventeenth. I can't wait

(11:59):
for that. And Spider Man Brand New Day comes out
on the thirty first. It's just Tom Holland's month on TV.
The Legally Blonde prequel Elle hits Amazon Prime Video today
and apparently she lives in Seattle, so that's a fun One.
Disney Plus exclusive episode of The Simpsons comes out this Friday.
Netflix's new adaptation of Little House on the Prairie will
be released on the ninth, and Dancing with the Stars

(12:21):
the Next Pro premieres on the thirteenth. Finally, the holidays,
In addition to Fourth of July, there are some pretty
big holidays, National Bikini Days on Sunday, National Fried Chicken
Day is on the sixth, and you know how to
celebrate National World Chocolate Day on the seventh. National French
Friday on the tenth. It's all about food, but here
comes drinks. National Mohedo Day is on the eleventh.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
And there you go.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Wow, that's the whole thing. New month. It was up
on our YouTube channel at Jodian Bender. They go to
YouTube dot com slash at jodyan Bender. Go watch the video,
go like the video, go comment on the video, go
subscribe to our channel. And you know this one's all
about me being old. It's fine, Well it's not old,

(13:07):
older than your wife, yes, but the conversation is talking
about putting me in a home.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
That's that's how you heard it. That's not how I
said it. That's we were talking about old people, not you.
But you were like, hey, man, old, I.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Know YouTube dot com slash at Jody and Bend Bender.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
Listening to you from Cabo, Love Jody and Bender. My
husband's laughing at me anyway, Love you guys, have a
good Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
From Cabo.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
He's laughing at you.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Why why's he laughing at you? You're like, look, let's
go to breakfast. What are you doing? Why? What are you?

Speaker 7 (13:46):
What are you?

Speaker 4 (13:46):
We're on vacation, what are you doing? I have time
to called Jody and Bender use the talk back feature.
It is pet peeve Wednesday.

Speaker 8 (13:52):
Yeah, pet pete phile people who walk in extreme angles
from the far reaches of parking lots, going across the
street or to the front of a store in a
perfectly good elevated walking surface provided by the business or
the city. Get all the side walk people.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
My pet peeve actually has to do with parking lots.
Also today, go ahead, we got time now. Yeah, okay.
You know when people are walking away from the store
back to their cars and they know that you're following
them because you want the spot because it's crowded, yes,
And then they pretend like they don't see you stalking

(14:31):
them going half a mile an hour, and then they
cut through multiple rows without signaling, like I'm over there.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
You like you have to do the point like over here.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
They don't care.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
They don't care.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
No, I like to be acknowledged that I'm following you
for your spot, and you either work with me or
against me. Like me personally, when I know someone wants
my spot, I give them all the information with my hands, sure,
like right over here, or I got you like thumbs up.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
The second part of that pet peeve uh would be
the p people know you're waiting for that spot. They
get in their car and decide to open a bank
account on their phone, or they're chatting with family, or
their learning they're learning how to use their their seatbelt
for the first time, first time, they're trying to figure
out exactly how to put the car in reverse. They

(15:18):
don't know what they're doing, and they sit.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
They know you're waiting.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
They know you're waiting, which which tells me The psychological
part is that in no other part of their life
do they have any control, no power. They have zero control.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Run power yea, their children, and this is it.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
This is their one one piece of power, and they're
going to hold onto it.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Yeah, completely.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
And the third part of this one is when people
are walking in parking lots right down the middle of
the aisle, not close to the right or close to
the left, so you can't get by them, and they're
like on their phone and not paying attention at all.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
The fourth part of that is when you walk out
of a store and you know that giant square as
soon as you walk out of the store, before you
actually hit the parking lot where you have the lines
and stuff. Yeah, okay, the issue of I'm just gonna walk,

(16:23):
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Gonna look, I'm.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Not I there may be a car already coming, and
may all and I know that the pedestrian has the
right of way, but the car is already coming and
they're just walking right out, walk right through, walking right out.
Tax My pet peeves when someone follows me through a
parking lot like a stocker to get my parking Okay, okay,
but you're the problem.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Why don't you like that you don't own the parking spot. Yeah,
people are trying to go there now. Yeah, you're taking
up space that does not belong to you. It's not
like someone's trying to steal something that's yours.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Text.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I do that intentionally. It's hilarious, So it's not.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Why do we have so many petty listeners today?

Speaker 9 (17:05):
Zero?

Speaker 4 (17:06):
In the meantime, it's Puget Sound Showdown. It's another fresh
meat gash me. Let's bring in our contestant, shall we. Hey,
Jimmy there, I'm here, Hey bender, Yeah, hey, Jim, Jim
is in uh where you? Where are your newcastle? Jim's
in Newcastle, say Jim, Hello there, Daniel is in pull up, Hey.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Daniel, We're great.

Speaker 9 (17:34):
How are you doing well?

Speaker 10 (17:36):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (17:37):
So the question is after an entire month of tournament
champions when you were listening and the questions were relatively
harder than they typically are, How well did you do?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Got crushed?

Speaker 4 (17:49):
No clue?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yeah, not very well.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Yeah, that's fine. Those are the hardest level questions we
can work up to that.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
I got crushed, no clue. I have the questions this morning.
You guys are gonna buzz in with your name when
you know the answer, first person of five wins. If
you guys both miss it or nobody can answer and
Jody gets it right and she gets fined before you,
you're both out. The only new rule is that if
they both buzz it at the same time and it's

(18:18):
a tie, Jody can answer, but she doesn't get a point.
All right, here we go. What is the traditional gift
for a one year wedding anniversary? Jim Jim paper? Which
chemical element has the shortest name just three letters?

Speaker 9 (18:39):
Jim?

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Oh iron? Before David, you can steal it? Daniel is
did I say, David it's a fresh meeting. I'll get
the name right tomorrow. Daniel, what's the answer.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 11 (19:01):
Honestly, I don't know.

Speaker 12 (19:03):
Ten.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Which reindeer is the first to be mentioned in the song?
Rudolph Jim.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Dasher?

Speaker 4 (19:14):
What's the main ingredient in Borshed Jim Jim potatoes? Daniel
you can steal it? Roost Jody beats or beat root
Sure scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Jim has two, and so do I. Daniel not yet
on the board.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
According to Frank Sinatra, what city was my kind of town?
Jim Jim New York? Daniel, you can steal it Las
Vegas Jody Chicago. Did I ask that during tournament champions
I thought I did. No, Maybe not. Robert Paul joined

(20:00):
members of Duran Duran to form what other group?

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Jody power station?

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Scoreboard?

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Jim has two?

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Daniel not yet on the board. I now have four,
Damn Do you really? Yeah, I'm gonna pause for just
a second.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Can you get that ready for me?

Speaker 4 (20:24):
Which one do you want?

Speaker 3 (20:26):
The one that says all I do is win, win, win,
no matter what.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Oh you want that one? Yeah, sure, We've got that
damn in what sport would you hear the term hooker?

Speaker 11 (20:41):
Jim Jim.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
Cricket Daniel you can steal it. Uh No, Jody for
the wind.

Speaker 2 (20:57):

we both toured that rugby facility together in New Zealand,
came over.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
We we no matter what, got money on my look.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Everybody where's the hooker?

Speaker 4 (21:18):

who's the first reindeer mentioned in Rudolph the Red Nose
Reindeer text reads first reindeer mentioned is Rudolph, literally the
first word of the song. That's not true.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
Sorry, doesn't the song go Rudeolph the red nose reindeer.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
The hook of that very the song begins. You know,
Dancer and Dasher or you know Dasher and Dancer and
Prancer and Vixen.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
That's how it's starting.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
That's how the song starts.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
I've lived my whole life going rute off the red
nose reindeer had a very shiny nose like and starting
from that point.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
I'm not arguing with you. I'm no, I think you're
arguing with no. I'm just saying I'm not sure that
guy has a point because I also thought.

Speaker 12 (27:24):
You know, Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and mix comment.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
This is how the song starts every time. Every time,
that's how it starts.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Rude off the red nose. That's the hook of the song.
The song begins like this. This is the beginning of
the song. So I don't want to hear it.

Speaker 12 (27:45):
You know, Dasher and Dancer and Prancer.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Learn something new. That's the hook of the song. But
I appreciate because he had a shiny nose. And if
you ever saw it. You'd even think it glows, is
what I get from the song?

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Again?

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Yeah, it's the ding Dong stuck.

Speaker 12 (28:07):
You know know, Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and mix
right Common and Cupid and Donner and Blitz.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
But do you recalled re call.

Speaker 12 (28:20):
The most famous reinder.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Here's my party, the Red Nosed Rain.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
I mean, I appreciate the snarkiness of the text of
literally the first word of the song.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
The dumbest person in America? That is that guy's got
a nice voice? Is that Harry Styles saying that.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Close?

Speaker 3 (28:45):
It's not my holiday? You know I don't have all
the info. Is this what we did instead of news.

Speaker 12 (28:53):
Time?

Speaker 1 (28:53):
It's time for America's favorite pastime, complaining. Get it off
your chest. It's Jody and Bends pet Eve Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
That's how the song starts.

Speaker 14 (29:04):
That's the way I remember it from my childhood.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
It always starts, you know, Dasher now Dancer.

Speaker 10 (29:10):
Bender, This is Scott Hey, go for it.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Man. If QBC can have Christmas sales going on right
now in July, why can't you guys play a Christmas song?

Speaker 6 (29:18):
My pet peeves, You're not playing a Christmas song all
the way through morning. Jody and Bender. This is Shelley
from Redmond, and my pet peeve today is walking into
Costco and Redmond and seeing Halloween costumes and decorations already
for sale.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Not right?

Speaker 6 (29:34):
And then I tune in this morning and you're playing
Christmas music? What's wrong with this world? Does no one
want to live through summer?

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Hey, Jody and Bender? For damn, I haven't heard that
in a while.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
I'd like to hear Felis Navin chefs.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Haven't heard that in a while, CHRISSI.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Not in there Are there any other real pet peeves?

Speaker 5 (30:10):
Good morning, Jodie and Bender. This is Donnie in Seattle.
You know my pet peeve sitting in an intersection and
someone decides that they need to go, and there's no
room for them to go, but the light turns red
and green for the opposing traffic, and now the opposing
traffic can't go because this car is sitting in the
middle of the intersection because he just didn't want to

(30:33):
wait for the next light.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Yeah, good morning, Jodan Bender.

Speaker 11 (30:38):
My pet peeve is when you're driving down the highway
and you're either in the far right lane or the
middle lane, and somebody blows by you at a high
rate speed, changes lane in front of you, and then
slows down. It's like, why did you pass me in
first place if you're just going to slow down.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Too.

Speaker 16 (30:56):
When you mentioned earlier about people in the parson that
we follow them and then they go across getaway, I
just don't like it when you see the car and
you see the starting the engine and see the breakways on,
so you shouldn't have waiting for that spot, and then
they sit there forever and they don't go.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Good morning, Jody and Bender.

Speaker 10 (31:16):
My favorite are My pet peeve is people who make
assumptions based somewhat they think, don't bother or look it up,
and then tell somewhere they're wrong, just because I love
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and that is my daughter's
favorite movie ever for Christmas, and I would love to
be Christmas in July.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Good morning, Jody and Bender. My pet peeve for today.

Speaker 15 (31:41):
Actually this time of year is fireworks before the actual
fourth of July. My home is very close to property
that is owned by a local tribe and they have
turned it into their firecracker alley.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
It just gets really frustrated this time. Yere Yeah agreed.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Text five two, three on nine random, but listening to
you guys go through all the Christmas music. Jody does
an excellent Bruce Springsteen. It sounds just like when she
perves out on Bender's hair.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Sarah did smell nice the other day.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
First of all, you didn't say smelled nice. Yeah, I
didn't realize you got that close.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
When you walk in at such a fast pace, I
can smell everything work taking place on.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Standing the globe to find the noos you didn't know
you needed to know, you know that, Daily Bender Gazette.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Now here's Bender too by Olympic Hotel, Better You, Better Life.
There is absolutely.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Uh no.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Well, by the way, I had like four things I
was gonna say huh oh all the same time. So
let me start that again.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Standing the globe to find the noos. You didn't know
you needed to know, you know, said Daily Bender Gazette.
Now Here's Bender.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Brought to you by a loving HOTA, Better You. Brand
New videos up on our YouTube channel at Jody and Bender.
Go to YouTube dot com slash at Jody and Bender.
The new video is off of a Gazette story the
other day about the ninety six year old woman who
got in trouble at her retirement home because she was

(33:32):
partying too much. And then it just quickly spiraled into hey, Bender,
you're old enough to go into a home. Has Rachel
made plans for you yet?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
If I remember correctly, I said, have you ever been
to one of those places? And you were like, I'm
Joy young, please don't put me home.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Joy and Rachel.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
I think that's what it was.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Video is up at Jody and Bender Today's because that
story is based on the World Cup. I'm not sure
this happened a couple of daysgo. I'm not sure if
you saw the story or not, but this is what
happens when a country and its football association becomes extremely petty.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
I'm for it.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Uruguay. The Uruguay national team got bounced before it made
it to the knockout round. That didn't win any of
their games in the group stage, so they were sent home.
The Uruguay national team was shunned by its football federation

(34:45):
and forced to travel home commercially because the country's football
organization was mad. They sent them there on a charter,
a charter and made them come home commercially because they say,
you embarrass the country.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Oh my god, It's like, well, we play Puget Sound
Showdown and people are nervous and say, hey, look, all
you have to do is not embarrass your family. And
these guys already feel bad enough. You know, you've got
a world class athlete. Even on the bad soccer teams
that didn't do any well, any justice to their you
know teams, there's still world class athletes.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
After failing to qualify for the knockout rounds, the country's
football association was furious. The federation canceled the team's private
charter flight from their base camp in Mexico and instructed
the players and its staff to journey back on commercial flights.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Ugh.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
I don't know, it's up to you to get home.
I love Petty, but I think that that's pretty harsh.
I mean, these guys already feel bad enough. It's like,
whatever you're gonna do to them, they're already.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
Feeling bad enough.

Speaker 12 (35:58):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
I mean, come on, double double embarrassment.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
Uh, Jody and I are done. I'm sure we're done
for the week.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
We're done for the week.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Sarge filling in for us tomorrow and Friday. Hannah is
filling in for Sarge. I think the money's still going
to be happening at eight about eight ten tomorrow morning
and Friday morning with the USA two fifty k USA
Giveaway America. Mary Mary Key is not heading off to Pullman.

(36:31):
Did you figure out what you're going to be doing
other than going to random bars? And because that's apparently
all there is to do in Pullman. When we did
a whole day about this earlier this week and we
asked what should because neither of us have been to Pullman. Yeah,
we asked all Cougar fans, hey, where does Jody go?
And everybody said. Everybody said there was like a waterfall

(36:51):
and drinking.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
I mean pretty much.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Unfortunately, they scrambled our tournament times. We have really bad times,
and instead of having lots of the day to do
whatever we want, we have to like sit around and
wait quite a bit. So I think we're just gonna
be checking out local like the campus and the Bear thing,
and we'll have the freakin kel zones, and we'll have

(37:17):
the ice cream and I'll get the stupid cheese and
just do all the stuff. Okay, Yeah, it's a little upset.
I'm not going to Whistler, but that's fine. It's my
annual trip.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
It's fine. What are you guys gonna do?

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Mackenzie's got camps and I was toying with the idea
of heading down to see Bailey. I haven't decided yet.
We had travel plans this weekend that got canceled so
that it opened up the opportunity for me to maybe
go down to Animal I haven't decided yet. Yeah, but
you have a great time in Pullman. Thanks, we will.

(37:54):
I am gonna have a great time. Text Jody better
go to the Cougar Country. Go to Cougar Country a
burger joint.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
That's where you get the sting and cheese that everyone
talks about.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
On Monday, We'll be back with tickets to the Mariners game.
Yeap tickets to the Seattle All Star Classic Celebrities softball
game that I'm going to be involved in. Uh and uh,
just a fresh meat game for for put sound showdown.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Do you want me to do some softball pitches for
you over here in the in the cornfield so you
could get warmed up for that thing you're just gonna
walk in?

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Like, what makes you think I'm not ready?

Speaker 7 (38:30):
All right?

Speaker 3 (38:30):
I was just asking I could be helpful.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
My first rodeo I know what I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
It's not a rodeo, it's a softball game.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
Oh, you literally have no idea what you're stepping into.
What's your request for?

Speaker 5 (38:40):
