Everybody can stop with the rampant speculation about what's gonna
happen in ten years or whatever. Everything is gonna play
out the way it's gonna play out, and we have
no control over everything. So just enjoy the next season
and the season after that. Here in Seattle, a Washington
grandfather is recovering after a bison tossed his ass into
the air during an attack.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
At Yellowstone National Park.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
That video is insane.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It's insane, and I'm not gonna post it because the
guy did get hurt. He has a couple broken bones.
He's an old man. And this isn't one of those
situations in which we say stay away from the animals.
Don't instinct the animals, don't aggravate the animals. They were
minding their own business. The grandfather and his grandson, like
they were in the area, but they weren't trying to
(01:52):
poke the animal or get near the animal.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Take a selfie with your yeah, but they were from
a decent distance.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
The bison was doing a sand roll, you know, like
he was relaxing, and then he got up and charged them.
They were far enough away that, you know, we can't say, like, well,
you get what you deserve, and this poor guy, Yeah,
my god, the sun was the grandson was not injured, thankfully,
and the grandfather will be okay.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I may or may not put the video up. Should
I put the video up? It's crazy, it's crazy. Yeah,
maybe I'll put it up.
Speaker 2 (02:24):

(02:46):
peace Bender? Two hundred and fifty dollars four.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Hundred and fifty dollars.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
For how much of how much grass are you getting?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
It's a great question. I don't know the size of
the piece, but I can find out. A random thing
of rices came out. They're charging nine dollars for a
bottle of coke. That's a very expensive, but the hell
costco warning customers who recently purchased a desert willow plant
that it could be infested with an invasive pest. No, no,
(03:17):
not just any invasive pests. Listen to the name of
this sucker, glassy winged sharpshooters. Don't put the plants on
the ground. Put it inside two trash bags. Sealum closed
Cosco will give you a refund. And you don't bring
the plant back because it's got Don't put it in
just one bag, right, put it in two bags because
of those glassy winged sharpshooters.
Speaker 4 (03:39):

want to know.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
So you guys are on the air from six to ten,
But is that your these days? Don't work just four
hours a day?

what what's what's what's the gig? What's the gig? What's
the protocol? What's your deal? How many hours you work
and you're not just doing four hours. All right, what's
your So when you get there and you take the
little slip out of the rack over there and you
pop it in the time clock, Yeah, Jody.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
We generally get here an hour to an hour and
a half before the show, right, We work four hours,

living life and finding things to talk about.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
The That was the audio version of Jody doing an
essay in college.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
And in fact, I used to write off everything because
I used to say on the air, we're talking about
our lived experience, so I'm going to write off this
movie and this lunch and this one cable bill and everything.
Speaker 6 (05:19):

No, we work five hours a day. We're here an
hour before the show, and then we do four hours
of the show.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
And then that's it.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
An hour before the show.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
That's right, Daddy's here earlier because his car is so fast.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
But then there's you know, we get off the air
and we've got commercials we got to do. We have
videos that we're editing and posting there, and like Joy
and then right, I take care of the videos, Jody
takes care of the podcast. There's UH and then there's TV.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
We got to do I'd say roughly per day we
work seven hours.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
We don't work at all. What did you say, give
me your give me your What was that again? What
was your explanation? What was your explanation? Experience? So the

where and when you say meetings plural, we have won
one meeting. We have one staff meeting, and you missed
it yesterday. Had we never meeting? Yesterday?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
I'm very excited. Gonna live right here.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Oh no, it's gonna be up there so you can
see it on camera, or you can put it right
there in front of you.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Yeah, I'm gonna put it here with me.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
That's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
So how did you do?

Speaker 1 (13:25):
I was.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I was. I was out in right field. All never
came to me.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
That's where they put kids in rightfield.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
That's what I remember back in the day, back in
the day when you'd play little league and they'd be like,
what about you, Timmy.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
We got to put Timmy in right field.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
That's that's what it was. I wanted to play the
in field, but I mean, we had baseball players there,
and it was just like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know,
radio and TV people, you're gonna go play the outfield.

day comes from my five year old daughter. I'm was
fortunate that quite a few people wanted my autograph. So I'm,
you know, doing the autographs and taking pictures with people
and on baseballs and jerseys and so on. And my
(14:41):
five year old daughter, who was behind me as we're
leaving the facility, the game is over, everybody's leaving, and
I'm still signing autographs and stuff, and my five year
old daughter from I I can hear go, why does
everybody want daddy to sign stuff?
Speaker 2 (14:56):
That's like what my friend's reaction is when anybody ever
come up to me in public?
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Why why? Why? Why did you?
Speaker 3 (15:02):
But I got a pop?
Speaker 2 (15:04):

we gave tickets, who were responsible for making these products,
(15:26):

opportunity to make a T shirt of himself with that
picture of him upside down backwards.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Like silhouette, gotta be That's what you want? Is a silhouette?
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Right like the NBA. Yes, yeah, that's what you want.
I got to the.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
World Cup semifinals on Telemundo, Fox and Peacock. Today it's
France versus Spain. US launched its third night of strikes
across Iran as military action there has resumed. The US
naval blockade of the ports will resume today. Shipping traffic
sload oil prices jumped. I would say if I were you,
I'd take my car to the nearest gas station and
(24:38):
fill her up.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
You know, I was like to tell you before the
prices are going to go up.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Twelve states, including the Great State of Washington, sued to
block Paramount's takeover of Warner Brothers Discovery, kicking off a
high stakes battle that could impede the media Mega merger.
A parasitic outbreak has now caused more than three thousand
people to fall ill as investigators try and figure out
just what is fueling the outbreak. Cyclospora, a parasite infects
the bowel, causing symptoms like, yeah, that's exactly what it.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Is, affect cyclospora. Yes, isn't that the thing that was
in the last of us? Isn't This is how it starts.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
That's micah mico toxin.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Tomato, tomato.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
It might be in tomatoes and tomatoes.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Actually, uh, fresh produce including lettuce, basils, cilantro berries, and peas.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Oh my god, that's everything I eat and nothing that
I eat. So I am clearly safe.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Actually, all of us here in Washington are right. There
hasn't been anybody hit over here. It's mostly Michigan now Ohio.
Eighty six people have been hospitalized. Yeah, stupid Michigan. Typical,
one of the largest pizza chains in this country, is
preparing to close up to fifty Papa Murphy's locations starting
this week. So if you've got a favorite one by you,
(25:54):
go ahead and grab a couple for the freezer Olive Garden.
We'll be bringing back the never Ending pasta pass for
the first time since twenty nineteen bender the next time
the bosses want to take you out to dinner and
not invite me. You can go to the olive garden.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
You say that because you were invited. That is a
it's it's a brilliant marketing.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
The never ending pasta pas right, yeah, but it's so filling.
How many peoples are you possibly gonna have because you're
already gonna fill up.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
On bread right? See that's the problem.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
You know.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
If I were an olive garden fanatic, I know there
are a lot of them out there.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Yeah, man, me and the ball.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
The first thing I would do is I would have
a little bit of salad just to stretch my stomach.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Sure, right. I would not have any soup. I would
not have any bread sticks.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
But you gotta have the bread sticks.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I don't think so. I don't think so. I mean
I haven't had one to know. Is it life changing?
You want to spend your money on the pasta?
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Right?
Speaker 4 (26:48):
But you know what you need to do? What angel hair?
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Angel hair?
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Because angel hair, because it's thin and you could get
a couple of bulls out of that.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
I also think you should get bowls of pasta that
have premium protein in it, like a shrimp scale. Empty
kind of thing or like something with meat but nothing
too heavy, like don't order lasagna. You know, if you
need any more tips, you can always text the show
and we'll help you. Avengers Doomsday will be two hours
and forty five minutes. I told Bender earlier, that's a
long movie. He said, no, well, Endgame was three hours,
(27:18):
so this isn't two hours and forty five minutes movie.
But Endgame was over three right, so they know you'll sit.
In sports, the MLB All Star Game is on Fox.
No Mariners are starters, but Randy Rose Arena is on
the Team's good for him, storm Sky tomorrow, Reno.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Fine, it was. It was a long weekend, man. I know,
I know it's Tuesday for everybody else, it's Monday for
Jody and I. Yesterday I was out because we did
a thing with Seattle Children's and ken More Air. Ken
More Air wrapped one of their planes with Seattle Children's
Hospital signage.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Awesome, and I got to.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Take three kids up and we did the scenic tour
around Seattle.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
I've never on that. So cool, I've always wanted to
do that. What do you see?
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Everything? Everything like like we literally we flew over the city.
We flew over Sandpoint, which is where the hospital is,
so that was kind of cool. Flew over Husky Stadium,
flew over the two stadiums.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
How long did the flight last.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
I don't know if the I don't know if the
flight that we took with the kids was the typical
scenic tour, but I think we were up for a
good thirty five to forty minutes. So it was cool.
It was I mean, we flew like right over the city,
so you got to see the top of the space
and need to looking like the soccer ball. So it
(28:35):
was really really awesome. But over the weekend, the Bender
family increased by eight. Eight new members of the family.
Six goats, two sheep showed up at the house on
Friday night. Okay, say everything, so everybody, uh, everybody, it
(28:57):
was okay, I'm just going to start now it's going
to sound cheesy and and it's probably already too soon,
but we love them.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
We love them. So the six goats and the two sheep.
You hadn't counted on sheep, but now you have two sheep. Correct,
how about the sheep?
Speaker 4 (29:15):
The sheep are a little aloof sheepish. They're the they're
the ones that are still kind of trying to get there,
like one is getting a little bit more friendly while
the other one's very like leaving the hell alone. The
eight goats are like dogs.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Like dogs. Okay, so who does Mackenzie have a favorite name?
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Mackenzie? They they all have names. I figured that I
would get Mackenzie to record her introducing all the goats
to everybody, so I don't want to spill the names yet,
but all eight have names and they we had one
(29:58):
scare last night. Everything has been fantastic. Pens are worth,
the pen is working. We've i mean full blown farm.
The video of the goats and the sheep arriving up
on my Instagram at the Bender Nation. Jody's X David
(30:19):
was at the house on Friday because he's a contractor,
and he built the stall door, the stable door, and
it was beautiful. We can't get them in, like they'll
go in, but not all together, and we can't get
the door shut behind them. So that was a little
nerve wracking because we're like, well, we want to make
(30:41):
sure that they're protected from whatever predators are out there.
And then it started to occur to us, it's like, okay,
last year we had forty goats. We didn't have the
pen built yet and we didn't have the front of
the stable built yet, and they were fine. So we
were like, Okay, we'll leave the door propped open. If
(31:02):
they want it, they can come and go. And they've
got their water, they got their food, they got their hey,
the whole deal. Everything was great all weekend. Had a
friend stop by last night and he was checking out
and maybe he's playing, and McKenzie's like, look at oh
my god, these are Oh my god, everything's great. Last night,
we hear a noise and Rachel said, the motion light
(31:28):
just went off. So I looked down and I don't
see anything, but I grabbed the flashlight and I'm like, okay,
I'll be right back. So I walked down to the
pasture and I can hear something on the other side
of the pasture from where the goats are, and the
goats are freaking out. Now I can't tell if the
(31:48):
goats are freaking out because of me, because I had
because it's it's it's relatively dark, and I need the
flashlight and they're all looking at me literally like deer
cotton headlights. So I think I don't know if it
was the flash that was freaking him out or what?
But I can hear something in the pasture.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
What's the noise sound?
Speaker 4 (32:05):
It sounded like something whining, And I'm like, okay, is
that a coyote? I don't know what the hell's going on,
but the goats are freaking out. So I'm now compartmentalizing.
Are the goats freaking out because of me? So I
go back up to the house. Hey, Rach, I need
to come out here for a second. So Rach comes
(32:26):
down with me. She's got the flashlight, she's my eyes. Well,
I'm trying to gather all the kids and get him
into the stable. I can't get him into the stable.
They like step in and then right now they step
in there like okay, I got three in there, but
I still got five out here and I've got now
I got four and I got four, Okay, forget it.
So I then take the flash light into the pasture
(32:48):
and I'm now checking out every inch of the acre
and a half and I've got all penned off, don't
see anything, But then I hear it and Rachel goes,
that's a bird. It sounded like a bird. Okay, needless
to say, neither of us slept because now we're concerned.
But I was told and advised that if there's a problem,
(33:12):
the goats will start to scream, they'll make noise. So
we've got the windows open, looking for the light to
go off. Whatever screaming. Not a peep, not a peep
for the rest of the night. So we think everything
was fine. We're gonna we're gonna make some adjustments today.
(33:33):
But everything was fine. The goats are great, the sheep
are great. Everybody is very content. They're sleeping, they're eating.
And we opened up the pen and let them go
out into the pastor and they were like, oh my god,
everything they're just so, everything is great. Pictures video up
(33:54):
again on my Instagram.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
And uh, you know, I think it's natural for you
guys to be a little up in arms, a little
worried a little bit.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
That's perfectly natural.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
I also have a non farmer knowledge suggestion, just as
a basic thought, since we know about goats that they
love to eat everything. Yes, what if you create a
scene with like a big carrot where we're like, let's
say you send Rachel in right and she's got a
handful of long carrots. Oh yeah, and she goes, all right,
(34:25):
come on everybody, and then you bring them all and.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Then shut her behind them. Yes, they there's grain that
we have that's apparently like goat crack, and tonight we're
gonna try the special to put a little bit of
stuff in the buckets and put the buckets in the
far corner and then they all go running and shut
the door behind them.
Speaker 6 (34:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Yeah, So because you were smarter than goats, you're smart.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Maybe you are, You're for sure smart.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
I don't know. I'm questioning myself, nonder.
Speaker 5 (34:53):
This is Gary streaming from eastern Washington. I was a
farmer for over forty years, and I learned that the
only way to get live stock to go where you
want them to go is the rattle of feed can.
You can't chase the animal with four legs because they're
laying a lot faster than you and they're gonna go
wherever they want to go. And if you've got feed
(35:13):
and they're used to the feed can, then they're gonna
come running to wherever you're at with it. That's the
way to get them in the barn or anywhere else.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Okay, yeah, feed can the food. Yeah, so I'm going
to the feed store today, I'll go get a couple
of feed cans. Yeah, I'm gonna go get some more
of that goat crack, which is like this grain special
blend something.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
They lose their minds over this stuff.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
We've had the goat since Friday night. It's now been
almost seventy two hours. No Friday, Saturday night, Sunday night,
Monday night, it's been over seventy two hours, and everybody's
still alive.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Does everybody have a clear favorite or do you all have?
Speaker 7 (35:54):
No?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
We all have our you all have your own special ones.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Yes, okay, I will unveil because I nobody's waiting at
the edge of their collective seats for the names of
all the goats and the sheep. But I'm gonna let
my five year old do that, and she will introduce
all the names and the backstories and so on. We're
all very excited, and like I said, I realize I'm
jumping the gun here and it's only been three days.
(36:18):
But we love them, love them, of course you love them.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
When you say their names and backstories, are you making
up fake backstories for them?
Speaker 7 (36:25):
No?
Speaker 4 (36:25):
No, all, I said, like why we name them?
Speaker 5 (36:27):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (36:28):
Okay, man, for a second there.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
I was like, Oh great, they're coming with fake backstories.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Now they will.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Oh thank god, ask you for one thing? Can we
please get some fake backstories.
Speaker 7 (36:43):
I have figured out why Jody always picks Florida for
Your Daily Bender, because that's stories. My son and I
started watching My Strange Arrest on Annie. I would say
about a good sixty of all of the stories are
in Florida, so she's in a very smart numbers game.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Have a great day, Love you guys, My Strange Arrest.
That sounds like it's right up my alley, and yet
I have never Yeah, I thought she was gonna say.
My son and I started watching It's Florida Man, which
is one of my favorite new shows on HBO. It's
a retelling of crazy stories. The person who lived the
story tells it to you and then it's acted out
(37:27):
by celebrities like comedic celebrities, and it's the style is
just fantastic. Each one's only half an hour. I really
recommend it. Florida Man, Florida Man.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
On HBO Max HBO Max Your Daily Better because that
brought you by Olympic Hot Time.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Are you Better Life?
Speaker 4 (37:45):
The FCC has approved a demonstration satellite from a startup
in Florida, California. Okay, it's called reflect orbital. This thing
uses giant milelarm mirrors to direct sunlight back to Earth.
(38:08):
The satellite will orbit roughly six hundred and twenty five
kilometers above earth.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
What does that mean, sive?
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Hey siri? Convert six hundred and twenty five kilometers to
miles three hundred and eighty eight point three six miles
three eighty eight.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
I was gonna say that she beat me by like
my British.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
My British sery, So three hundred and eighty eight miles
above the Earth. They would deploy in eighteen by eighteen
meter refraction, love of God, Hey, hey siri, how many
feet in a meter?
Speaker 3 (38:46):
It's three point two eight feet?
Speaker 4 (38:47):
Okay, so three points so three point two, so three
times eighteen, so it's like one hundred. So it's like
one hundred. Three times eighteen is fifty four, So fifty
four times fifty four. A reflective panel that will beam
a moving circle of sunlight approximately five kilometers.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
What why are they doing that.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
Hey siri? How many miles in a kilometer?
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Zero point sixteen miles, so.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Half a mile, all right, so it's a half a
mile wide onto targeted locations. The company aims to sell
sunlight on demand to solar farms for post sunset electricity generation.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Oh man, that's freaking awesome. That's freaking awesome.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Future uses could include our agriculture, emergency responses, and military operations.
Oh man, a second, that's wait a second. Hold on,
I'm going to get to the bad stuff. Hold on.
So what we're looking at now. Remember when the Truman
(39:59):
Show when he's like, make it daylight, put the sun up,
and they're like, but it's three o'clock in the morning,
put the sun up, and he hits the switch and
bang the sun comes up. Yeah, it's the same thing
in Paradise. Yeah, bring the sun up. That's what they're
doing here, sunlight on demand. At the moment, it's targeted.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah, it's in a small location. It's not like they
could do it for everyone everywhere. And how could they
do it at night? They're only collecting it during the day.
They're reflecting it, so the sun has to be up.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
I don't know, but the moon is lit taking it, well,
the moon is lit because of the reflection of the sun.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yeah, maybe they're taking it from Can they take it
from the Australia.
Speaker 4 (40:42):
Side even our way? Maybe the said is there in
the room reflect orbital and visions deploying up to fifty
thousand mirrors by twenty thirty five.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
I don't like the word deploy for some reason. That's
bothering me. I wish you would stop saying deploys.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
However, worn the constellation could severely disrupt ground based telescopes
and increase skyglow. Critics also cite concerns over nocturnal wildlife
and human sleep patterns.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
See my initial excitement was we can make more good
energy without having to burn coal, and you know, use
things that are going to go away.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
My first thought was directing sunlight. It's gonna be like
we're ants and somebody has control over a giant magnifying glass.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, but I wasn't thinking of the collective we I
was just thinking as oh, aiming extra sunlight at solar farms, boomy.
Everything after that I don't like. And you're right about
the nocturnal wildlife. They wanted to build a pickleball court
in Lincoln Park and uh, and people went crazy because
of the owls. The owls won't like the sound of
(42:00):
the pickleballs all day. So I don't know how far
this will go. But if it was just it was,
if it was only going to be used for good,
to give more sunlight to solar farms, than I would
love it. But everything else that you said after that's stunk.
I don't know what would you do? Would you be like, Okay, yes.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
I it's sunlight on demand. Sounds great to me, right,
Like if I had the Elon Musk money. I love
my home where it is, I build a dome over
it and it would be you know, constantly Sonny in
seventy two, every day and nobody could ever come in,
and nobody could ever come in.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
That would be your dream.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
That would be the dream. Well, wrap the program with you.
Good morning, Jody, Good morning Bender. This is Max and
Kennington for Damn.
Speaker 7 (42:45):
I haven't heard that in a while.
Speaker 6 (42:47):
Yeah, I would love to hear pop goes the World?
Speaker 4 (42:50):
Thank you? What is that? What if pop goes the world?
Pop goes?
Speaker 3 (42:56):
I don't it's hats Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
You want to hear that one?
Speaker 6 (43:01):
Sure?
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Why not?
Speaker 6 (43:02):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (43:02):
All right?
Speaker 4 (43:03):
Standby? Was that a hit?
Speaker 2 (43:06):
It's a song by Canadian New Waven synthpop band men
without hats. It reach number one in Austria.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Sure
