Speaker 1 (00:00):
Seven shit yah show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
He's ninety second news update now and it's powered by
my good friends at Carter Subru. Gonna be hot today,
high near eighty eight, but hazy with the smell of
wildfire smoke over the next couple of days from all
the fires burning in Oregon and Canada. A twenty year
old douche from Spokane was arrested in Ellensburg after impersonating
a lawnforcement officer and pulling people over in a tricked

(00:30):
out Ford Explorer on I ninety in Grant County.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
For what reason?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Just to yeah, oh, you wouldn't even ask that question
if you had seen a picture of him, and I
should have had the mugshot available. But he's just the
guy you're imagining, you know, a big round face, dumb
look on his face. What was he doing, just pulling people,
all people over? Yeah, that's it. I don't have any
information on if he like specifically harassed or assaulted or

(00:56):
did anything after that, but he's been pulling people over.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
The President announced sweeping fifty percent tariffs on Canadian goods yesterday.
The tariffs among the steepest the administration is levied against
any country threatening to reignite a trade battle with our
top economic partner. The White House says the levees take
effect in thirty days. A federal judge in northern California
has temporarily blocked the Paramount Skiddance proposed acquisition of Warner

(01:22):
Brothers Discovery, while a multi state antitrust lawsuit challenging the
deal moves forward. Tropical Storm Bertha threatening the Gulf coast
with flooding rain and strong winds. Almost a third of
passengers all right, bender, this is very important that you
listen to the math.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Here.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Almost a third of passengers aboard a scenic National Geographic
crews off the coast of Alaska have come down with
a grim gastro intestrinal infection. Eighteen of the sixty two
passengers it's a small boat, are suffering from really bad cramps,
vomiting whatever. And you say to yourself, well, sometimes you

(02:00):
hear about a horrible neuro virus outbreak on a boat,
but for this particular boat, it's the third outbreak in
three months.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
It's the boat, it's the crew, it's what's on the boat.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
So let's say your schedule.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I'm not going on that boat for the next cruise
on this boat board.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
In the last three months, we've had three neuro outbreaks.
But this should be fine. Do you go, Okay, come on,
come on board, everybody.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I appreciate the offer. Bro not taking that cruise even
if you lose a.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Deposit, right, and you know how much I hate to
lose a deposit. I'm like three and three months and
people still keep getting on the boat. Don't go on
the boat. Holy crap. Tom Brady is having a weird
post football existence. Man is talking about the possible match
with the WWE, most likely with Logan Paul. They've been

(02:53):
taking stupid pot shots at each other and Brady slapped
him across the face the other day. It was real stupid.
I don't know why Brady feels like he has to
do this now. It feels really below him, right, that's true.
I used to watch wrestling when I was a kid.
This doesn't feel like what he should be doing right now.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I don't know him.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
He have enough money. He has so much money, Like
could he need?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I mean, maybe he's looking at you know, is there
above him with more money like Elon Musk.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I guess In sports, the Mariners blank the reds ate
nothing last night, which includes a col Rally brand slam Crusher.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
They walked Dominic Ken Zone to load the bases to
get to cal Raley and this is what happened, slam.
I understand the man's been in a slump, but you

(03:53):
don't disrespect. That's what he needed, the reigning home run king.
He needed the disrespect. That's what he needed.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Needed it, he needed the fuel. They go again today,
Sounders is it Austin? Sound Oh, I'm cool? Sounders visit
Austin tomorrow. Storm of lost at home to Minnesota. They're
now six and twenty two on the season and host
the Links again tomorrow. Seahawks training camp underway. Rookies started

(04:21):
camp over the weekend. Veterans will join on Friday.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
In the next fifteen minutes, we've got your one thousand
dollars PAI day keyword, we have your song of the
Day and Puget Sound Showdown Getting seven the Jet. It's
Jody and Bender follow up from Time Flies. The question
is was Millie Vanilli set up because it's too smooth.
It wasn't like the skipping and it wasn't it didn't

(04:44):
sound like there was like a technical glitch.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It just started repeating, Well, I think people's first natural
assumption would be, oh, they're not singing live, you know,
and we've forgiven that. We've forgiven a lot of people
for that. Anyone who dances gets to, you know, lipsying
to their own track.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
It was on this date in nineteen eighty nine Milli
Vanilla were doing a club MTV tour stop when the
track they were lip syncing to when side.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
It's so painful. But I don't think people would assume, oh,
they're not singing. It's some old dude who isn't them?
You just assume, oh, they're dancing to their own track.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
That We've talked about this before. That documentary came out
a couple of years ago. The entire industry was in
on it.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, everyone knew.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
They were lip syncing, including the Grammys and they when
they got the Grammy for Best New Artists, the Grammys
gave them the award knowing they were lip syncing. Everybody
was in on it until they got called out and
that everybody left them for dead.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
I don't remember too well the documentary that you're talking about,
but I did watch the movie that sort of depicted
their lives it was not documentary. Style is just a movie. Oh,
and it was so sad because of the two guys.
One of them was like, we should probably learn how
to play instruments and like learn how to sing so
that this doesn't blow up on our face. And then

(06:12):
the other one, who inevitably ended up passing away early,
he was just like, we're famous, let's buy Ferraris. And
it was in that movie. It was just so clear
that one of them saw how this was gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
The Millie Vanilli movie, Yeah, was an American documentary film
in twenty twenty three. It was on Netflix. Is that
what you're talking about? I think I watched on Netflix. Yeah,
but it was a documentary. It was a documentary with
the two of them.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
No, it wasn't documenting.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
It's a very very very end of the movie. You
see the surviving member singing in concert. Yeah, yeah, that's
the one. Yeah, it was really a documentary. It's really
really good, and again everybody was in on it. That
was the part that's mind blowing. Yeah, let's see. Uh,
we got a thousand dollars coming up. Song of the
day is Culture Clubs, Miss Being Blind. Jody's news is next.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
My mini baby mom and surprise doll. The scariest thing.
We'll talk about this one ninety five seven heading to
add to the program.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
That's what you gotta do. You have to add to
the program.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Something personal, something critical, what have you. If you have
anything to say, use the talk back feature on the
iHeart app. You could ask us anything as well. Hey,
partly Sonny with a height here eighty eight today, So
make sure that you're being smart with your time. Hazy
wildfire smoke coming in from Oregon and Canada drifting into

(07:39):
the region, So turn those filters on. Two US soldiers
aged twenty five and nineteen killed and Iranian strikes have
now been identified by the Department of Defense. The Pentagon
says nearly one hundred US service members have been injured
in the war with Iran since July seventh. More than
three hundred and eighty thousand Ford vehicles under recall due
to a possible defect with a second row seat in

(08:00):
certain models. Some are Lincoln Aviators, some are Ford Explorers.
Call your dealer if you think yours might apply. Disney
guests who are the designated scroller managing the lightning lane
reservations are not enjoying the experience as much as their families.
According to a Wall Street Journal article, oh my god,
hand up in the air. If you're the one who

(08:22):
runs the lightning lane and decides which part part of
the park you're going to go to to catch the
ride and what's the most efficient way, we are not
enjoying ourselves as much as everybody else. I assume Rachel
does that for you, guys.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah, she's the master of it.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
She's the one, Noah, and you're just like, yeah, loves it,
are you kidding? Well, she loves it because somebody's got
to do it and do it right. But we have
something to worry about while everybody else is just eating
their dole whip and walking wherever they're told. This is
a new Wall Street Journal article in a piece discussing
how one person in each party has to be the
one to constantly book and reverse ride reservations on the

(08:58):
phone to avoid long lines. So at least we're all
being acknowledged now, Yeah, thank you. A ransomware attack has
forced fair Life, the milk Company, to temporarily shut down
production of all it's US facilities, raising the possibility of
supply disruptions for one of America's most popular dairy brands.
This is the Austin Powers we'll be getting. We're gonna

(09:21):
launch a ransomware attack against the milk company. Oh yeah,
it seems a little random. So people are debating a
toy called the My Mini Baby Mom and Surprise Doll.
It's sort of like a Barbie doll, but it's pregnant
with a removable stomach that contains a very realistic amniotic
sac with a tiny plastic baby and slime inside, and

(09:45):
you can burst the baby and then you turn the
stomach upside down and start over. The doll is available
for pre order in the UK. It's unclear if and
when it will be available in the US. Bender you
have a five year old daughter, would you like My
Mini Baby Mom in Surprise doll with the full amniotic sack?

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I think I'm good. You're good because I don't believe
we're ready to have that conversation at five years old.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Well, when you're ready, do you want me to come
by and help?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
No?

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Are you sure you want to think about it? Now?
You said that really fast? Good? On TV today, the
series premiere of Shack's dunk Man on TNT Basketball dunking
events with all the world's best dunkers. It's sports. The
Mariner's blank, the reds ain't nothing last night.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
He's not a bit of terror.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yes he is.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
He's got five wins. He's halfway to the Hall of Fame.
Mariners tickets online if you want to take him on
at seven forty five. Still waiting on the Jody and
Benders song of the day. That's what you're listening for.
When you hear it, be caller nine. You get to
go see Boy George and Culture Club September fourth at
the Fair. It is Talkback Tuesday. Use the talkback feature

(10:59):
on the iHeartRadio, but you can send us any messages
you want.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Hey, Jody and Bendor, you were talking about saying some
mean talkbacks, but I can't see anything mean about you guys,
because you're awesome.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Let me Jody and Bendor. Happy Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Hey Jody and Vendor. This is Michael from Federal Way.
Just want to say Hi, have a good day, stay cool.
Your show is great. Watch and listen to you every day.
Keep up the good work.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
We will thank you.

Speaker 6 (11:26):
Hello.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
This is Angela and Dwayne out of Tacoma, Washington, and
I have a message for Jody.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
My husband is willing to kill Jimothy for you.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (11:35):
He's disgusted also by him being a no neck bastard
and stealing your thunder.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
And everyone who passes you by should give you money
because breast cancer.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
So yeah, down with Jimothy. Let me know and uh
we'll sort out the details. Thanks, Jody. Okay, listen, I
want to make one thing very clear. We are not
putting any hits out on Jimothy the Raccoon. Yes, it
would have been nice to be the number one story
on the Seattle Time, the most read, the most read,

(12:08):
but Jimothy Eclipse does not once but twice, and so
that that was what we were talking about. I do
not want anyone to attack or mame or hurt Jimothy.
He has already survived so much that's hilarious. And as
far as people giving me money when I walk by, yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Sure, I was waiting for the clarification on that one.
Yeah that's cool, but sure, yeah give Jody money when
you see her. Why cancer? Breast cancer? Yeah? Fine, what
do you have?

Speaker 7 (12:38):
Hi?

Speaker 4 (12:39):
This is Paula from Des Moines, and I was wondering
does anybody else think that that new Apollo Plumbing commercial
is awkward. I mean she talks about wanting it hot,
and I mean we know that she wants hot water
and the plumbing plumber needs to come take care of that,

(12:59):
but she's really flirty and it's just awkward.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
I believe that's what they're going for, don't you think
bender that's that's very the unspoken that's very funny. Yeah,
you know the commercials she's talking about.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Right, or she's uh yeah, She's like she's baby, make
it hot.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
She's like, hey, I need it hotter.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
And he's like, well, he she's the awkward one, right,
because he's like, what do you want? What do you need?
What's and he's like, yeah, we can fixture plumbing and
get you hot water by the night because you know
I needed hot baby.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
And he's like yeah, that's we can do it for
eighty nine dollars and she's like, give it to me,
give it to me. We also heard the same thing
you heard.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
We we need to call Apollo Plumbing because I think
that the woman in the commercial needs to be replaced
by Jody.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Oh yeah, for sure, Hey, Paula Plumbing, come in my
house and make it hot. It's not hot enough for me, baby,
I've seen some things.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Got a text to five two three on Ninem wanting
to know if they could have the one thousand dollars
word for this hour? Do you know it? Do you
know we did it thirteen minutes ago?

Speaker 2 (14:17):
What kind of attention do you think I'm paying?

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Clearly not on my phone.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I got my protein shake, I got my corn nuts.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
The show get in the way.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Is there healthy cornnuts? They're bad?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Uh? Bonus was the word? Don't don't tell anybody else. Yeah,
but go to ninety five to seven the jet dot
coment to the keyword bonus for your chance at one
thousand dollars. It is talk back Tuesday.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
This isn't support of bender barn, stable farm. These are
all just relative terms. We all know what you're talking about.
Quit splitting hairs, people, come on now.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Any time I mentioned the fact that my goats and
sheep are in a stable, I get craped for it
because it's a barn not a stable.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Because the argument is that horses live in a stable
and other animals live in a barn.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
But in my mind, a barn is the giant structure.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
And a big red barn where.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
The stable is where they all individually go. I ironically though,
what I have are open range stables, three walls and
a roof, but I enclosed one of them. But I
enclosed one of them, and then yesterday had to do
a little ranching, and I took down one of the

(15:42):
panels in between, because the stable that I've got was
split and the previous owner had a donkey, and the
left side of the open range stable was actually closed,
and that's where the donkey slept, and then we enclosed

(16:06):
the open range part of it, and that's where the
goats would be and the sheep, and so what we
wanted to make it bigger, so we knocked down one
of the panels and now it's a two bedroom. Sweet
love it. It's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
We'll open this wall up. Incidentally, Google's AI overview says
that a barn is a multi purpose agricultural structure designed
for storing hay and graham and occasionally housing livestock. A stable,
on the other hand, is a specialized building used strictly
for housing, feeding, and caring for horses. So I think

(16:38):
the woman who called was right, But the person who's
the talkback feature in defensive view is also right, because
we know what you mean.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
We knows what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, isn't it sort of like calling
a loafer a shoe. It's still a shoe, even though
it's specifically a loafer.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
It's a it's a yes, I've got I've got a
couple of stables. I've got a couple.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Apparently not, you don't have any stable. Just better get
a couple of horses.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Mister big shot in Silverdale has already got five wins.
Brad is halfway to the Hall of Fame. Halfway. Four
more wins and he gets a Hall of Fame game.
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I don't like to put a jinx or anything on anything,
but he's doing fantastic.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Hi Brad, Hey, thank you, Jody, you bet Brad b
Come on, Brad's gonna be taken on Jason Incarnation. Hi Jason,
how's it going?

Speaker 2 (17:33):
It's going real good. How are you good?

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Good?

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Do you think you have a shot against the champ?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Sometimes I know the answers, and then sometimes I have
no idea. So we'll see what.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I think that what life is like. Sometimes you're good.
Sometimes I have the questions.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
This morning, you guys are gonna buzz in with your
name when you know the answer, first person of five
wins if you scrip along the way, nobody can answer
or get wrong answers, and Jody has to clean up
the message. She can get five before you. Guys, you're
both out here we go in the equation E equals
MC squared. What does the C represent? Brad Brad the

(18:16):
speed of Light? Who was Jennifer Aniston's first husband, Jason
Brad Pitt? What does a c l U stand for?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Bred?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Brad Jason? American Civil Liberties Union, who was the first
rap group to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine?
Jason nw A Brad, you can steal it? No looking

(18:57):

the birthplace of democracy? Brad battles scoreboard.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Brad has three, Jason has one.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Bill Murray wrote a book back in nineteen ninety nine?
What was it about? Jacon? Jason? You got in there?
Go ahead? I don't know an autobiography? Brad? You can
now steal it? Golf called Cinderella stor Family Show. Jason

(19:38):
gets a bit? Does he have any points?

Speaker 2 (19:39):
He has one?

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Okay, take it away from him.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Even take it away.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Hey, he's the air. You can't do That's all right, Okay,
all right?

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Brad has four. Jason now has nothing after one redacted?

Speaker 1 (19:52):
What's the score again?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Four to nothing?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
In what movie does Tom Cruise play a high school
football player? Jody taps all the right moves.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
I never heard of.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
If you have if you have hyper hydrosis, what do
you do excessively? Brad? For the wind, Jason, you can
steal it. Drink water, Jody, sweat? You sweat excessively? Scoreboard, Brad.

(20:39):
As for Jason, not on the board, I now have one.
What's the first book in the C. S. Lewis Chronicles
of Narnia series? Brad, Brad for the win the Lion,
The Witch in the Wardrobe came over.

Speaker 8 (20:58):
Six ninety five seven Shet Shody's ninety second news Update.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Now and it's powered by Carter Suber, who partly sunning
today with a Heiner eighty eight. It's gonna be a
hot one and the bad news is the smell of
wildfire smoke over the next couple days is gonna get
pretty thick. Fires burning in Oregon and Canada drifting into
the region. King County Judge temporarily blocked the prediction market
site Calshe from operating Washington, saying it operates illegal gambling activities.

(21:30):
The company says it will fight it. A twenty year
old douche from Spokane was arrested in Ellensburg after allegedly
impersonating a law enforcement officer pulling people over in a
tricked out Ford Explorer on I ninety in Grant County.
Now you look into the story, it's pretty superficial. They're
not saying what he did. So my assumption as a

(21:51):
newsperson is that he probably just pulled people over and
issued non existent warnings. But you gotta imagine that he
was just like gonna ram bup to do like some
serious stuff. What an idiot. I'm so glad they caught
him and figured, I.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Really want you to perhaps train the TV news anchors
here in town. Yeah, because I believe they need to
add more adjectives to their news delivery.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Right. Well, the issue is they've got the teleprompter rolling out.
What they need is a spot where it says.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Editorial or or have you right there? Teleprompter stuff?

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Right, it's just a douche from you got editorialize, you know,
I mean that's a fact. Come talk to me about
If you disagree, you can find me at Bender at
ninety five seven the Dead Thank you. The President announced
sweeping fifty percent tariffs on certain Canadian goods yesterday. The
tariffs the steepest in his administration, levied right against our neighbor,

(22:55):
The White House says, the levees. Levees take effect in
thirty days. A federal in northern California has blocked Paramount
Skuydance Corporation's proposed acquisition of Warner Brothers, while a multi
state antitrust lawsuit challenges the deal moving forward. Tropical Storm
Bertha threatening the Gulf Coast with flooding rain and strong
wind gusts. An electric toaster sold nationwide through Amazon and

(23:17):
Costco has been recalled due to risk of fire and shock.
Nearly eleven and a half thousand of these panasonic toaster
ovens are being recalled because the insulation around the power
cord may be insufficient. This is a nightmare for me.
Whenever I leave for the weekend, I go around my
house pulling all plugs out. Do you do that? No,

(23:38):
I'm highly paranoid of this exact thing. Happening. It's not
your fault. Something was plugged in caused a fire, not
your fault. So if you have this Panasonic oven, make
sure that you bring it back to Costco. Tom Brady
reportedly having ongoing talks with the WWE about a possible match,
most likely with Logan Paul. I guess he doesn't care
about the rest of us and his amazing tenure as

(24:00):
a great football player and isn't being a broadcaster now
enough this this little tree branch is a bad story.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Like I just want I just want Tom Brady to
cut the ultimate promo you wanna do? I just want to, like,
you know, is he going to be a heel?

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Is he gonna be a good guy? Why is he
doing this?

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Well, well, clearly he'll be the good guy because the
because Logan Paul is going to be the heel.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
He gets to be a bad guy. Everybody knows the
heels are the most popular and make the most money. Anyway.
A warm up jacket worn by Wilt Chamberlain during the
nineteen seventy two NBA Finals was bought by a teenager
for three dollars and seven cents at an Oregon thrift
store stop. It just sold it auction for how much
do you think, oh, seven hundred thousand dollars. You know,

(24:49):
they were speculating that it was going to go for
a round that but it ended up just going for
eighty nine thousand, six hundred. Oh yeah, but now wow,
that teenager and sports Mariners blank the Reds last.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Night cow Puget Sound Showdown. It is Talk Back Tuesday.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
Hey, Jody and Bender, this is Anthony from Tacoma. I
wanted to give you guys a little entertaining news. I
work at a golf course and I drive a big, big,
big mower and I had a rock bounce up and
hit me square on the forehead. And the rock was
about the size of a fifty piece. It cut me good.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Damn.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
Anyways, love you guys, and I'm sorry Jody about your cancer.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Hold on, what was the piece or or or was
that rock? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Rock the size of a fifty cent piece? Hit him
in the head.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Hit him, not funny, hit him, hit him square in
the forehead.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
It's not funny.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
It cut him good.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
We don't think that's funny. Okay, yeah, all right, yeah,
like we're sorry that that happened. Yeah, yeah, it was
almost you guys want to hear something hilarious. An enormous
boulder crushed me in the head. Today it's at rough
or so we're not laughing about that.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Text Regarding your earlier talk back about the Apollo plumbing commercial,
my husband is a plumber, and I can say that
he's been propositioned by many housewives.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I responded to that text, I said, is that for real?
Because I thought that that was just like a deer penthouse.
I didn't think that that was real. I am a
woman at home. Plumbers have been to my house. I
have never thought I should work this. Hey, I should
work this right now. This guy's already here. If that's
the case, then men need to take note that if

(26:37):
they want to have sex with women, all they have
to do is appeer and be helpful, because that's all
it is, right, simply a peer, appeer and be helpful,
and then get ready to leave and not come back.
These are the three things we need. Actually, that sounds
pretty good.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
When is the next time you have somebody servicing the house?

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Oh disgusting. The thought the thought of somebody getting near
me or like in my bedroom is honestly horrifying. Like
another person who wants me to do stuff. No, goodbye.
It would be great if I did get some free
actual plumbing, that'd be awesome. I feel like I have

(27:17):
the wrong tubing coming from my dishwasher, Like if I
could get someone to help out with that and make
it not sexual, you know, like we thought plumbers were
in the beginning of this show.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
It's it's the wrong tubing.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Women hit on the plumbers, that's for real.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Earlier this morning, do I have hold on? Let me
let me play the original talkback we got about the
Apollo Plumbing commercial that we play.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Hey, this is Paula from Des Moines, and I was wondering,
does anybody else think that that new Apollo Plumbing commercial
is awkward? I mean she talks about wanting it hot,
and I mean we know that she wants hot water
and the plumbing plumber needs to come take care of that,

(28:02):
but she's really flirty and it's just awkward.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Well that it's it's supposed to be like that. It's
written like that.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
You haven't heard. I'm giving Apollo Plumbing a free spot
right now here.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
You go. I like it hot, your pardon? Can you
make it hot for me?

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Dan?

Speaker 2 (28:18):
I think so hap heated and hot enough. That's why
I called you.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
A plumbing yeah my song.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yeah, water heater ain't getting me the hots anymore. That's
what I called. Yeah, Or you want hot water, That's
what I said.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
That's what we do at Apollo Plumbing.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
And you're ready right now? When can you about today?
Same day, We'll have you in hot water tonight, clever?

Speaker 1 (28:45):
How about an upgrade a tankless water heating car.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Yeah, then they actually talk about hot water.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Text to five, two, three or nine. I'm an electrician.
It happens all the time I have. I had a
lady full on slap my ass while I was there
fixing my god fixing something in her condo.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
That's not okay. Has this been going on? I don't
know what to think about that. I thought it was
just like some joke, you know, like oh, the plumber
and the pizza guy. Like I I've ordered pizza a lot,
and I've never thought to myself, I can't wait till
this guy gets hears I don't have any way to
pay you for the pizza. Yah, you take my shirt up.
Oh that's not gonna work anymore. I like it hot?

(29:23):
Are your pardon? Can you make it hot?

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Did you really say that?

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Did you really say that?

Speaker 2 (29:29):
I guess I still have a week. How about these? Okay, bye,
that won't work anymore. I can't believe that really happens.
That's insane. But like I guess if you if everyone's

(29:52):
happy about it, then good. Just like as a homeowner,
I just never did that.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Text to five two three on nine plumber here, yep?

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Oh, what's the deal. Is it just that women are
so excited about having someone help them? Is it?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Is it so?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Plumber's electricians? Anybody who comes to your home, to your
house to help you, to do anything?

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, okay, comes to your house to help you is
the number one thing. They're already in your house. They
have helped you. I guess if you find them remotely attractive.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Text I love the Apollo plumbing commercials. I chuckle every
time I hear it. You know, some people are just
way too serious texts. I went along with my husband
on his bottled water delivery ro at once, and at
least three women came out dressed sexy with big smiles,
and then disappeared as soon as they saw me.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Well, you know, people in their home sometimes dress sexy
I myself am dressed very sexy in my home. Often
in the privacy of my own home, I come outside
to get stuff off of my driveway in a robe constantly.
If I'm being totally honest.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
I'm a little disappointed at the picture that the Daily
Mail used doesn't have you on your driveway with your bathrobe.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
I can't believe you just brought that up again. I
was not thinking about that at all. Thanks a lot.
Now I'm mad all over again.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
The Daily Mail posted I did a story on Jody
that picked up the story from the Seattle Times.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
The numb radio DJ announces breast cancer diagnosis.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
And they ran it nationally. And amongst the half a
dozen pictures that they posted, one of them is a
Google Earth view of Jody's house.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Completely unnecessary, other than the fact that I had noted
in the story that I found it myself while I
was at home. They did not have to post a
street view photo of my home.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Text to five two three on nine from an electrician,
The towel drop thing is a real thing.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
You are lying? Are these all different people chiming in
to say that this is really happening? Do we have
like five people who have been propositioned. That is insanity.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Text, you don't accidentally streisand effect yourself if you don't
want it known? The hell does that mean?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
What's the stand?

Speaker 1 (32:08):
What's the strisand effect? Google that I would google?

Speaker 2 (32:12):
What's this stray?

Speaker 1 (32:15):
I want to know? Does it happen in reverse? If
it is a female electrician or a female plumber, or
a female somebody coming to your house? Do you guys
get hit on as well? I'm assuming you do?

Speaker 2 (32:31):
The streisand effect?

Speaker 1 (32:32):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (32:33):
An unintended phenomenon where attempts to hide, sensor, or remove
information inadvertently draw far more attention to it. So, in
this case, the term was coined by a founder of
the blog tech Dirt, named after Barbara Streisand because she
filed a fifty million dollar lawsuit against a photographer who

(32:54):
had taken aerial photos of the California clastline to document erosion,
and it showed her mansion.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Oh and nobody would have known.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Nobody would have known. So the straight affect is us
saying like we should stop talking about Oh a.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Text that good morning. I'd like to order a hot
single plumber please? You mean?

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Yeah, that's right? I like it hot stop, hot water hoops.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Law for attorneys know this community because they live lots
of reaction, lots of texts, lots of talkbacks morning uh
with people saying that they have either been an electrician
a plumber. They get hit on all the time when
they're inside someone's house. To the point someone texted in

(33:42):
saying a female land surveyor arriving to a woman sunbathing
in the nude and when seeing me was cover A
cover up was not rare. One of the guys I
worked with was harassed so much he researched if he
had a workplace harassment case. The company started giving him
mostly contractors instead of homeowners over it, and we don't

(34:03):
go inside.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
That's wild. I did not realize what a uh country
full of land mines going into people's houses. As a
homeowner myself, it never has occurred to me that we
could actually do this thing where some attractive person comes
to your house to do work for you, and you go, hey.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
You know, do you want to do any weird stuff?
Like how do you broach? Like how do you do
you hold on? We're going to have to hold on? Yeah,
do you that's your go to pickup line? Hey, flirty,
I'm flirty. Hey do you want to go do some
weird sh Yeah, I'm flirty, right, But how do you
get off the topic? Like the guy comes to fix
your garbage disposal? How do you go from garbage disposal

(34:47):
to sexy time? I'm really curious electrician, garbage disposal, plumber,
cable guy. I mean, but like, where do you like?

Speaker 2 (34:55):
What do you do? Is it just the nudity?

Speaker 8 (34:58):
Like?

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Is it just profound unity that makes it so obvious?

Speaker 1 (35:01):
I have become like measure for like floors or do
you like have contractors all to just out of nowhere?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Be like, hey, we've got a proud of them in
my bedroom. Can I enjoy you? Like? And then the
guy's like, I guess And then he's upstairs in your
bedroom and you're like, well, there was no problem. I
just brought you up here for sex? Like is that again, flirty?
I know, I can't imagine how you like. I'm impressed
and I'm horrified equal parts? What about you? Are you

(35:31):
impressed and horrified? Equal parts?

Speaker 1 (35:33):
It's that the the number of text pastures that we
have received, yeah, from people all saying it happens. They're
saying it happens all the.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Time to all the different service contract people. I have
had a generator put in. I had many splits put in.
It never occurred to me. Maybe a good conviction. It
is too like, it's just so wide?

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Are those actual products? Are these euphemisms?

Speaker 2 (36:00):
You're disgusting?

Speaker 8 (36:03):
Shake yard seven and you standing the globe to find
the noose. You didn't know you needed to know, you know,
Daily Vender Gazette. Now here's bender to buy Olympic hot top.
Better you come on, man, you got to know your limitations.

(36:23):
A man has got to know his limitations. A man
in Florida, Arizona. Okay, okay, he's facing in.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Your head at me. Sometimes it's Florida.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
He's right, shake your head at me. Now he's facing
felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly stripping down, naked and
climbing out on top of a moving train in northeastern Colorado.
Climbing on top of a moving train, the sheriff's office

(37:02):
said he broke a window to board a union pit.
This is the way the story reads. Tell me this
doesn't sell like something from like the eighteen hundred with
Jesse James. He broke a window to board a Union
Pacific locomotive.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Oh, locomotive, old smokey, all right.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Before climbing onto the roof while it was moving.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Witnesses reported seeing this guy riding naked on top of
the train before police took him into custody.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Did you tell me he was naked at any point before?
You just said the word naked?

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Yes, that was in the first sentence, oh, stripping down naked? Ah?

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Yes, I was like, what he's mentioning that?

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Casually? Your perimenopause typically, Yeah, you don't remember what happened yesterday, right,
not thirty eight seconds ago?

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Right?

Speaker 2 (37:55):
I mean. Also, I'm existing in like massive trauma right now,
so the fact that I'm here and having a great
time is really I mean, it's surprising to me too.
But let's talk about this naked, drunk guy. Wow, that's
a lot of alcohol.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
The sheriff's offist decided to throw shade at this guy
via Facebook and the post read quote. Daniel expressed his
love of vodka, beer and playing the banjo. Unfortunately we
had to separate him from those loves and the train ride.
Nowhere in here does it say anything about a banjo.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
No banjo This reminds me of too many movies where
you see people fighting on top of a moving train, Like,
do you think that's where he got the idea?

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Well, he wasn't fighting, he was just surfing it naked.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
But the idea of like being on top of a
train that's moving feels like something you shouldn't do. Movies
have corrupted this, gentleman, I.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Think with that, No, we do have this. You can't
just play that. Earlier this morning, it started because somebody
for Talkback Tuesday said, wait, hold on, I got that.
Let me get it for you. Hold on, here's this
talkback message.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
Hey, this is Paula from Des Moines, and I was wondering,
does anybody else think that that new Apollo plumbing commercial
is awkward? I mean, she talks about wanting it hot,
and I mean, and we know that she wants hot
water and the plumbing plumber needs to come take care
of that, but she's really flirty and it's just awkward.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
So then it became plumbers and electricians and cable guys
and so on showing up to your house. And we
were inundated with those in that profession saying happens all
the time.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
We go to.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Person's house and a woman answers the door, and within
an hour so she's all kinds of flirting and things happen.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
We got a text about a garage door serviceman and
a story that you would not believe about a woman
who went up and said, I'm just going to take
a shower and came downstairs dressed all sexy and just
like got on him basically.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
And I was I have been shocked all morning. And
then well, and the question you asked was, how did
that start?

Speaker 3 (40:22):
Yeah, here's how it starts. It starts after ten minutes
you walked to the door all of a sudden, the
coming back downstairs wearing just the bra maybe low cut,
maybe bikini top. That's how it doesn't start out like
an X rated movie. It's just then an hour later,
you know. That's how it usually goes. Trust me, Southern
California up here than a handyman, my whole life.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
So but at some point somebody has to broach the subject.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Okay, well, this goes way back to the eighties and nineties.
Whether it was the internet. So I installed cable and
satellite dishes and I barely got my work done. Twice
a week I had to go back to fix it,
becaf I didn't get anything done. So just letting you
know it's out there. So it's now that the internet's
out here, it's easier to go find somebody. You are
cracking me up, though, how does it start? It's funny guys,

(41:10):
you guys, enjoy your summit.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Thank you too. There you go, Jody. Somebody has to
say something. Someone has to be the one to be like,
are we doing this? You know? Hey, Hey we're doing this.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Hey, we don't doing this?

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Like, are you just making a very bad decision with
your outfit or are you actually here to do it?

Speaker 1 (41:31):
So our standards are broadcast content are about to change
in the next hour or so because Jody and I
are going to move from our radio program and go
do TV on Studio thirteen Live that is back from
a World Cup hiatus.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
So we're back, baby.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
So we're back on Studio thirteen Live. Moray will be
doing the thing at eleven o'clock and Jody and I
will be on at some point. I think during the
first fifteen minutes of the show doing random entertainment stuff.
I don't think we'll be talking about what plumbers and
cable guys and electricians are joining.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
You'll never believe what we talked about today. It's not
just a stereotypical joke. It really happened.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
Tomorrow it is pet Peeve Wednesday, So use the talk
back feature between now and then and complain about whatever
you want. More Mariners tickets, more Culture Club tickets, and
other stuff. We leave the show with you.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Morning guys. If you don't have a song yet for Damn,
how about I Touch Myself by the Divinyls Jet Shody
bends Damn damn, damn, dam damn damn thing.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Hey, damn dam.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Damn damn damn da dam.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
Haven't heard that in a while.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Yeah, Next,
