Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, keep watching, though, you know, just because your dark
horse isn't in it anymore doesn't mean there's not a
lot of exciting soccer to come.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
What look at you positive?
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I'm pro soccer. I think it's great. I think it's
been great, and I'm really enjoying it. Harbor View Medical
Center treated eighty six people with firework related injuries as
of yesterday, A sixty five percent increase from last July.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Oh not everyone. What's going on?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Everybody? Can you not handle yourselves a little bit better?
Now that the World Cup Games have concluded in Seattle,
the Department of Transportation plans to continue revive I five
across the Ship Canal Bridge. Oh, that means the express
lanes open northbound bender. So that'll be exciting for you
for the rest of the project, which is scheduled until
the end of the year. So the closure again, I
(01:37):
because it wasn't yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, it wasn't yesterday. I should know that. Cool.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
But instead I'm just gonna move on. Okay, I'm just
gonna not on my head and move on it and
I'll know. I'll know shortly after that.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah. Cuba hit with.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
A nationwide blackout yesterday a mid no ongoing energy crisis.
There are islands electrical grid suffering a total collapse. An
explosion went off near the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus
earlier today, where French President Macrone had spent the night
ahead of a meeting with his Syrian counterpart.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Macrome was unharmed.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
No grand prize winner on Friday, so today's drawing for
the MAGA millions will be five hundred and seventy six
million dollars cash option on that works out to just
shie two hundred and fifty four million dollars. If you
won two hundred and fifty four million dollars bender, would
you ever come to work again?
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Sure, I just wouldn't let anything bother me. Actually that's
not true. I think I would still have a quarter
of a million dollars in the bank. I'd still come
to work and still be pissed off every day. Of
course you would. I'm like, what wouldn't bother you? Everything
would still bother you. You'd just be But that's fancy
your shoes. But that's what that's not true. I would
just wear the good ones, noboder I could replace them, right. Uh,
(02:43):
But that's what makes the show so good? What makes
the show so good? Exactly? Details were paid attention to.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
By one of the two of us, Harry Style. Harry
Style set a world record with his twelve dates sold
out run at Wembley Stadium. Coldplay previously held the record
with ten shows last year, and Sports Mariners at the
Marlins Storm beat the Sparks Yave the Storm won a game.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
They have the dream On Thursday? What is that Jodigan
Bender song of the Day for tickets to the Seattle
All Star Classic Celebrity Softball game this weekend. We know
there were a couple of glitches in Puget Sound Showdown.
We know about the Hawaii question. We know, and we
also know that there was a miscount, if you will,
(03:28):
with points that were awarded to the wrong people. So
at seven five this morning, it'll be a fresh meat game. Redo. Redo,
That's good. Let's always do it like that. Uh, Starly
in Seattle will go against Toy in Falls City again
(03:50):
because the game ended prematurely because Starly, who won the game,
actually got a point from Toy, right, Yeah, it kind of.
It's fine, Yeah, it's not really fair because we want
to make sure that the integrity of Puget Sounds Showdown
(04:12):
remains intact, right, and because if we can't just willy nilly, just.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Three game, so if we want to make sure that
all the variables are in place. So I will again
ask the questions, but they will be different.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Questions different You sure because you had played around with
the idea of toy it around with it. Yeah, yeah, okay,
it is talkback Tuesday. Anything you want to add to
the program, comments, critiques, criticism, compliments, requests, whatever, whatever. Use
the talkback mike right there on the iHeartRadio up right
(04:48):
there on your screen. Hit that your phone records you
up to thirty seconds and we'll put you on the
air up next. However, Jody's take on a new hobby
day that could change all of our So, uh, Jody
has a new hobby mm hmm yeah, is this life
changing for no? Will it? Will it be life changing
(05:11):
for us?
Speaker 4 (05:12):
No?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Any sort of all right, yeah, nobody's life is going
to be changed. I'm just wondering if there's any sort
of take that we could all go, like an epiphany.
Well yeah, maybe. I mean, this is what happened to
me over the weekend. You know. I was in Pullman.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
I was sharing the house with a friend of mine
who every chance she got, had her headphones on and
was listening to an audiobook that she just like couldn't
get enough of.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
She was talking about this book and it was so great,
and I thought audio books, yeah, okay, And.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I thought, I could, in theory, download a book and
listen to it on the drive home, and then I
will have basically read a book. And so therefore a
more cultured person.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
So I did. If you listen to an audio book,
uh huh are you reading a book? No, but you've
completed the book. So if you listen to the entire
book via audiobook, right, have you read a book? No,
but you've you've digested the book. I go through this too.
(06:12):
You writ for what?
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, I'm not here for Cloud or anything, whether it's
reading or not reading, You've digested it. Hold on, Yeah,
I don't even smart people Cloud.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
There are people that read for Cloud.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
There are some people who like will throw in your
face in some set of like weird cultural flex how
many books they've read, and then make you feel bad
because you sit around and watch Love Is Blind Argentina
for the third time in a rowd Jody.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah. When rach and I moved from Kent up to
Snawhomish and we were packing up the house, we might
we have had a giant bookcase that had probably north
of seventy or eighty books, and I went through all
(06:59):
the books and probably donated ninety percent of them. And
I don't think I read seventy of what I donated.
I have a huge bookcase with many, many leatherbound novels.
Is that a cloud. Is that cloud?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
I mean, you know, reading is good. Reading is good
for you. It's supposed to keep your brain going right.
But anyway, rainbow. So here's the point of the story. Yes,
so my friend was listening to audiobooks. I got the idea.
I was like, you know, I could listen to an audiobook.
So I downloaded one on my phone. It was just
a choice, that was a free option, just to see
(07:33):
if I would enjoy listening to a book, because I've
never listened to a book before ever ever. Yeah, I've
read a million books. I have many many books. I
just am not reading enough. So on the way home
from Pullman, I teed up this frickin' book. I listened
to it. The story is about this police It's like
a police detective and a doctor joined forces to find
(07:56):
a killer of women. And I know and one thing
I hadn't counted on.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
And this is the best part. And this is why
I really think everyone should try this audio books. Yes
in twenty twenty six, Yes, got it is because the
person who's reading the novel does all the voices like
I used to do when I was reading Josh books
when he was little. The narrator is in this British accent.
The story's done in a British accent. But the doctor
(08:27):
sounds like this, and the FBI agent is a tough Broaden,
she sounds like this. And then every time they bring
anybody else, she changes her voice and she doesn't like this,
like all these different voices.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
And so I'm listening, but I'm also laughing hysterically because
it's so ridiculous with all the voices, and I kind
of want to like find this woman and find out
if she's actually British because she's doing good job with
the British accent. Did you finish the book?
Speaker 2 (08:51):
No, I'm almost done, almost You tell me what happened.
I'm just curious if anybody else has the No, that's
not reading a book. Take. Oh, so that's your concern,
is not? I don't I personally, I don't care. When
I was training and walking and so on, this was
like what six years ago at the walk across state.
(09:12):
I listened to a lot of audio books. Okay, but
I don't.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I didn't. I never considered it reading a book. I
never consider it. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Digesting digesting you digested it? You didn't read it with
your eyes, but you didn't not well Teamy. Usay's World
Cup dreams ended yesterday in a bad loss, four to one.
All three host nations are out. Belgium will now face
Spain in the quarterfinals. Round of sixteen wraps up today
when Argentina and Egypt clashed from Atlanta, while Switzerland battles
(09:48):
Columbia in Vancouver. Now that all the World's World Cup
stuff is behind us here in Seattle, the dot will
continue five I five across the Ship Canal Bridge this
weekend full closure, full closure, and then starting Monday, it'll
be back to express lanes open northbound and two lanes open.
So expect the mess for the rest of the year,
(10:10):
and then we're gonna have the best treats that wrestling
the year. Yeah, the end of twenty twenty six, it's cool.
One person has died in the Shellanne Hills fire, marking
the second wildfire fatality in Washington this year, as crews
continue working to contain the flames burning east of Lake Shelanne.
Not only is married at first site taking place in
(10:31):
Seattle for this upcoming season, but it's the show's landmark
twentieth season. Peacock premiering Married at First Sight on July
twelfth with seven couples. You ever watch Married at First Site?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Bender? What do you think? I think you have and
you think it's fake. I don't think they're not even
real people. I don't pumpkins, I don't want to stick,
I don't watch reality TV. But you've heard of Married
at First Sight? Yes, I have.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
This is where two people are at the altar and
they meet for the first time and then they try
living together and usually it doesn't work out, but.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Sometimes it does. And the fun part about it being in.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Seattle is that you know wherever they're walking in parks
and talking or going to parties, and when the whole
crew gets together, you're just like, oh, there's lulas or whatever.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
So that's fun and it'll certainly be worth watching.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Prince Harry and six others have lost a high stakes
case against the publisher of The Daily Mail over allegations
of unlawful information gathering.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
This has been going on for years.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
All the claims dismissed by a High Court judge today
after their group failed to prove the allegations.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Question is would they have had a better shot if
Prince Harry was still Prince Harry and still within the
royal family in good standing. I mean, like I'm being
completely serious.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I don't think so okay, because this has been going
on for years. Yeah, of vulnerability and apples hide my
email tool let almost everyone discover a person's real email address.
Apple has failed to fix it for more than a year.
So if you're trying to if you're trying to do
like undercover stuff, everyone knows it's you.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
The character Emma Frost will reportedly appear in the next
X Men movie. There are already rumors that Margot Robbie,
Sidney Sweeney, and Sabrina Carpenter are up for the part.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
You know who Emma Frost is. She's a good guy
or a bad guy. I don't I don't know. I'm
not up on my X Men's stuff. The point of
having you around, Kes, I'm sure you're good at other stuff.
But blah blah blah. And sports Mariners are at the
Marlins yesterday and for a full explanation and accountability of
(12:34):
said glitch, go to Instagram and or Facebook at Jody
and Bender and watch video proof of Jody leaning into
huh text to five two three oh nine h Emma
Frost started as a villain and has now joined the
(12:54):
X Men, But she's really a full on good person, rich, beautiful, powerful.
I went back, Emma Frost was January Jones in X
Men First Class. Okay, she was the one who was
evil to Kevin Bacon's evil dude, and that's who she
was with in the movie. And she could turn into
like diamonds or something and like indestructible whatever. So, but
(13:18):
that's who Emma Frost is. So you're saying that Emma
Frost is gonna get her own movie or something. What
did you say in the news? Who even remembers what
I said in the news. It was so long ago.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
I said in the news that the character Emma Frost
will reportedly appear in the next X Men movie. There
are already rumors that Margot Robbie, Sidney Sweeney, and Sabrina
Carpenter are up for the part. You know, it's funny
that you bring up January Jones because I was a
huge mad Men fan. Yeah, and then January Jones basically
like she did a couple of crap things and then
just disappeared. And you know what you find when you
(13:53):
search up like whatever, happened to January Jones, They say,
find misinformation No Google AI overview is like, she's forty
seven and she's struggling with perimenopause, and I'm like, bruh,
bruh girl.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You and me bow girl, You and January Jones have
so much in common.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
She's saying, it's making her fly into a blind rage.
So Bender, you should just be happy that I don't
regularly fly into a blind rage.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I wish you would. I would. I would have to
show you daring me. It is talkback Tuesday. Use the
talkback mic on the iHeartRadio app. That little red microphone
right there on your screen. You get the station on
your phone's gonna record you, and your messages show up
here in studio.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
I don't care that Jody listens to audiobook, but the
kind where they do the voices.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
I had no words.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
But isn't somebody gonna do like, isn't the off the
reader of the audiobook gonna do voices.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Every time there's dialogue. Yeah, she's gonna have to in
this particular but who reads it straight? Who? Again? I'm
not a big audiobook officionado, right, Jody's just discovered them.
But you I have right, but I've never heard the
author of any of these books just read the quote straight. Well,
(15:17):
it's not the author, it's whoever does it for a living.
And I want to well, sometimes the author does it,
Oh really, but it's but I've never heard it read straight. No,
of course they're going to add voices. You have to.
And Diana looked at him puzzled and said, I don't
know why the milk has gone sailer. I want this
(15:37):
as a part time gig. By the way, I need
to get Jody. If anybody's written an audio book and
you're looking for voiceover work, Jody Wild love to do.
I don't think you. I don't think you write an audiobook.
I think you write a book, and then if you
need somebody, you know what I mean. Hey man, smile
(16:00):
a little bit more. Damn, good morning.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
I think it was last weekish you guys were talking
about nicknames and that Bender is just a nickname, and
I was just curious on what other nicknames Bender had
broadcasted under, and maybe do an impression of those personas.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
That would be great. I have used other names on
the air, but it never came with different personas.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Start at the beginning of your career. What was your
first name? You're like eighteen, right, seventeen.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
You're like a little billy. No, it was PJ. The DJ, right,
So you can laugh all you want and do an impression.
I was. I just had a much higher voice. I'm saying,
the gentleman wants impression. You don't have impressions. I'm not.
Then then I was kid. I was kid cunning him
(16:55):
all right. But then when I got to Zoo one hundred,
New York, it was already kid. Kelly changed my name
and they said, we need to come up with a
new name for you. Give me some ideas, and I said,
my dad's name is Richard Cunningham. That's his real name,
and they went done, You're Richie Cunningham. So that I
was Richie Cunningham for a couple of years, and then
I became Bender.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
And no impressions with any of these, I have no impression.
I mean, the gentleman on the talkback wanted impressed.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Don't have many improjects. The only impression I have right
now is Joey's. Joey's is Jody's, Perryman and pause right.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
May seven, it is Jody and Bender twenty four hours ago,
we had a fresh meat game between Starlely in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Let's bring her in, Hi, Starley, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Starley, Starley, Starley.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
And Toy in Fall City, Toy, Toy Toy, they both
get the chance. Yesterday was a bit of a cluster
f Why Jody.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Because at one point during the game, Starley was awarded
one of Toy's points, and then Starley won the game,
and therefore we have to scratch it and start over.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Okay, and we're bringing up the Hawaii question. Now there
was a good Okay, What's what's going on? Who's doing
work on somebody's Uh, this is not the time to
reorganize your junk drawer, ladies. What's going on? What's that noise?
Speaker 1 (18:25):

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Who is that? Who's who's saying the Hey, toy, Toy,
where do you work? Uh? Package company? For a packaging company.
She's gonna be packaging while she tries to win. Again,
Is that you doing that or is that somebody in
the background. Okay, tell them to knock it off. You
can't stop them from packaging. They're going to continue to package.
(18:49):
Jody again has the questions, you guys are gonna buzz
in with your name and you know the answer. First
person of five wins. Everybody listening, including myself, We're all
we're all gonna help Jody with with the point tallies. Okay,
just just to double check sure continuity, right, all right,
here we go. Okay, first of all, that that's not
(19:12):
gonna help you with points. Thank you. I appreciate that.
All right, here we go. First question, Here we go.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Two countries in the world have over a billion people
living in them.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Name one star to Starley.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
China also would have accepted India. Letters that aren't vowels
are called what starlely Starlely? Con What do you call

and enjoy books by inventing.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
What toy toy printing, Chris, what.
Speaker 3 (20:13):

Speaker 3 (21:13):

check out the narrator, Frank Muehler.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Get one of his stories and you will love it.
I promise he is the best. Have a great day.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Hey, Hey, Jody and Bender. I just want to take
a second and say thank you for getting me through
my morning walk today. It is day seven in a
row and I've started walking again after having not for
a very long time. But you guys make it fly
by with a smile on my face. I just want
to say thank you for being amazing at what you do.

And I'll be listening again tomorrow. Have a great one, guys.
Speaker 4 (21:50):

good luck in the game. It's Ringo Stars eighty sixth
birthday today, So peace and love everybody.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Good morning, Jony and Bender. A question from Bender. In
two thousand and five, it was a VH one documentary
on the resurrection of the Montley Crew called Resurrector Montley Crew.
Five minutes in, there's a voiceover that comes and has
Tim rely about the reunion of Motley Crew. It sounds
(22:34):
like you. I just want to know if it's you.
If it is, I need too, If you need more help,
get a hold of me.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Bye. That is me. It's an interview that I did
with Tommy Lee and I asked him about the rumored
reunion with him and the rest of the band, and
they used that interview in the documentary. Oh that's funny, man, God,
that was twenty plus years ago. Holy crap. But yes,
that's that's me in there.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Very interesting stuff today on talkback, you guys are doing
it right, talk back to this day you're supposed to
say whatever.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
We're getting some weird stuff this morning, right am? I
am I crazy? It just feels like everyone's a little
off kilter today. Everybody's a little off kilter. Yeah, I'm cool.
Everybody else? What's been weird so far?
Speaker 3 (23:28):
All the people and everything they're saying, right, hey, everybody?
Speaker 8 (23:35):
And five it was a v H one documentary on
the resurrection of the Montley Crew called Resurrector Montley Crew.
Five minutes in, there's a voiceover that comes and has
time really about the reunion of crew. It sounds like you.
I just want to help it to you if it
is on you too. If you need more help, get
(23:57):
a hold of me.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Bye, went and got the audio, said Motley Crue documentary.
So a bunch of rumors this week Motley Crue talking
about a possible reunion. Yeah, I heard about that once again.
So do you have a timetable? There you go? Yeah,
(24:20):
I send them like an eight minute interview. And that's
the piece they used in the Motley Crue documentary that
that he's talking about, and that was from two thousand
and five. That's funny. That was twenty one freaking year
and there was a reunion. So you were right. So
I was right.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Five seven set Shody's ninety second news update.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Now sidebar, agree or disagree with the following fact. Tommy Lee,
very cool.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Guy, very cool guy, very very cool guy. All right, now,
I got that out of the way, Paw, And I
want to say during the interview in the background, was
the girl he was seeing at the time that I
believe was Prince's ex wife? Who was the girl he
who's Oh, yeah, that's who I believe because he put
(25:11):
her on the phone for a second.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Princess XN power by Carter Superre Gonna be Sonny in
seventy five. Today, well, the US is out of the
World Cup, losing to Belgium four to one yesterday, ugly loss.
All three host nations are out now and Belgium moves
on to face Spain in the quarterfinals. Round of sixteen
wraps up today when Argentina and Egypt clash from Atlanta.
Switzerland battles Columbia in Vancouver, And now that the World
(25:36):
Cup Games have concluded in Seattle. It's time to block
the roads again. Now back to revive I five with
the ship canal bridge shuddering. This weekend it's going to
be full lay enclosures, and then on Monday it'll be
express lanes open doorth bound for the rest of the project,
which is scheduled until the end of the year, which.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Means everybody coming in from the north expect your commute
at another hour. Yeah, and why not.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Not only is Married at First Sight taking place in
Seattle this upcoming season, but it's the show's twentieth season.
Peacock premiering Married at First Sight on July twelfth with
seven couples. It's not the worst reality show to watch,
even for people who don't like reality shows, and you'll
be sure to see lots of weird Seattle stuff. Oh look,
it's Kerry Park. They're standing there talking about how they
barely know each other. Washington State will join communities across
(26:27):
the country tomorrow in a simultaneous reading of the Declaration
of Independence. Descendants of the first people to hear the
Declaration read aloud on July eighth, seventeen seventy six will
recite the document at the Capitol Rotunda in Olympia starting
at three pm. An explosion went off near the Four
Seasons Hotel in Damascus earlier today, where French President Emmanuel
Macrone had spent the night ahead of a meeting with Syria.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Mcrone was unharmed.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
No grand prize winner on Friday night, so today's drawing
for Mega Millions will be at least five hundred and
sixty sorry, five hundred seventy six million dollars. Cash option
on that one works out to be just shy of
two hundred and fifty four million dollars. This may seem
kind of random, but Brooke Shields is going after South
Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for allegedly underpaying
(27:13):
workers at their Colorado restaurant, Casa Bonita. I'm not sure
what Brooks Shields has to do with Casa Bonita, but
you better believe I'm gonna find out.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Harry Styles set a world record with his twelve dates
sold out run at London's Wembley Stadium. Cold Play previously
held the record with ten shows last year. That's a
hell of a lot of shows. In sports. Mariners at
the Marlins Storm beat the sparks. They have the dream
on Thursday, soon.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Sooner rather than later. Sooner than expected. I gave you
the update on the Bender ranch. We're getting goats. Right
as we heard.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
You had been putting in fences, getting everything ready, got
the electric with the water, got everything organized.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
You went and looked at some goats, went out and
did some window shopping with some goat. It's a Puget
Sound Goat Rescue, and we had it all set up
ready to go. We were going to be picking up
the goats when they were weaned and did all their stuff,
like second or third week of August. Is it getting
a bunch of babies? Correct? He learned a lot about
(28:15):
goat getting some kids. We were going to get that
about at about three or four months old. We got
to call what's today, Tuesday? We got to call Saturday
that said, hey, we know that you're planning on picking
up the goats at the end of August. We have
(28:39):
a request instead. I said, okay, So we're now on speakerphone.
It me and Rage talking to Puget Sound Goat Rescue.
There's a family that needs to move off of their
farm and they need to do something with their goat.
(29:00):
And sheep, So would you mind moving up your timeline
and taking these animals now as opposed to waiting for
the kids at the end of August, we said, how
many are we talking here? What are we talking about here?
Six goats, two sheep, And they're all between the ages
(29:26):
of like two and a half to four, and they've
been on a family farm, and they've been on a
family far, are familiar with people and kids and so on,
and yes, So, after thinking about it for all of
about six minutes, my wife and I and Mackenzie said yes,
(29:47):
So everybody's showing up this weekend six goats and two sheep.
Six goats, two sheep. I've spent the better part of
yesterday putting up additional fencing because the the pen was built,
but I had to put the chicken the heavy They
(30:08):
welded wire too because it's horse fencing, so I had
so I'm putting that up right now. And we've also
gone to the feed store and we're getting hay and
and and we've got now of hay feeders and all
of that. So so we're getting six goats sheep. Do
(30:36):
they already have names that they are comfortable with? You
wanted to name that. I don't know if they have
names they're comfortable with, but they're all going to be renamed. Yeah,
you're not tooty Fruity anymore, sorry, Marjorie, So put your
hat on and shut up. So. Uh so, the goats
will be arriving we think either Friday or Sunday. I'm
(31:02):
very excited. But the family that needs to move, are
they the ones that are going to be bringing them over? Oh? Yes,
we have transport, so then they can answer any questions
you might have. And and what the goat rescue people
said was, well, if you can take them directly from
the family, that means that we don't have to transport
(31:23):
them down to Eating Claw, which is where Puget Sound
Goat Rescue is, and then bring them all the way
back up north again. Make it so much easier. So, right, so,
the transport's going to happen this weekend, and come this
time next week we will have eight additional members of
the family.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
So when you went into the feed store where you're like,
I want to speak with the manager, and then.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
I know no, no, no, no no. We walked into
the feed store and the lovely woman working behind the
counter recognized me and went, do you have the goats yet? Ah,
we've been expecting you. We've been we've been expecting. As
you heard, you're gonna be okay.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
I was actually in a pullman this weekend for the
baseball tournament, and I was thinking of you and the
Bender ranch because there was a lot of farms that
were passed. Yes, and I meant to ask you this question.
So I'm glad we're talking about it now. Do you
have things for the goats to jump all over? We're
getting them, you know what I'm talking about. They have
to climb, right, they have to climb, But yeah, I
(32:32):
mean that's gonna be down the road. We'll get some
stuff for.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Them to play they're Enrichmond. Yeah, we'll get some stuff
to play with.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, because if they don't have anything to climb on,
they're gonna chew up everything they can do.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
But that's fine. What are they gonna chew up? The
stable is metal, huh. The fencing and everything is like
the vinyl horse fence. Well, maybe they won't chew anything up,
but they'll be annoyed and emotionally sad. You don't want
that text. Bender. We have seven goats and they are
our six hands full? What does that mean? There are
(33:04):
a lot of work, they're they're all we have seven
goats and they're six hands full.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Unless she's measuring them by hands, because I know that's
how you measure the height of a horse horse?
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Yeah, is that how you measure the height of a goat?
What does she mean? Andy? What do you mean? Do
you mean you mean? So?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
So there's the updates. I'm so exciting. Well we'll have
everybody the goats and the sheep this weekend. Who's more
excited me or Mackenzie? Mackenzie by a little bit, but
just aup late summer animals are showing up this weekend.
(33:41):
I'm so exciting. We went from getting baby goats to
getting toddler goats because there's a family up in the
North End in need of having to move the animals
off their farm. I don't know the backstory, I don't
know what's going on, doesn't matter. We were just simply
asked by the goat rescue, Hey, yeah, can you take
their goats and sheep? But you need to take them
(34:05):
this weekend. So we're going from five baby goats to
six toddler goats and two sheep. This might be a
stupid question, but are you gonna have to shear the sheep?
Do you have to shear all sheep? I don't know
the answer to.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
That, because if it's a sheep sharing, need you have
to do it because they get very uncomfortable?
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Yes? No, And these are all questions that will have
to deal with this time next week. If you have
to hear the sheep, do you swear to God that
I can come over and help. I'll bring them in here.
We'll do it in here. Hey, bender, has having a
farm been like a lifelong drain for you or did
you even ever think about it until now? We had
(34:47):
thought about getting a donkey when we were living in
Kent because we had a couple of acres, right, but
you know, we never pulled the trigger. We didn't really
you think we had the correct environment for it. It's
funny to see the donkey right at the fence line
there next to Boomer, next to Boomer or Ted. Yeah,
(35:09):
and it'd all been the same height, whichs been very weird. Hey,
why is that dog looks so weird? But you know,
moving out to the farm and now we've got land
that's that's built for it. Yeah, you know, it's gonna
be our little hobby farm. And again it's it's not
going to be a working farm, so which is kind
of like a sanctuary. Now we're just gonna have more pets.
(35:30):
That's cool. I'm really really happy for you. You deserve it,
enjoy it. Thank you, I appreciate it. While you were
taking that phone call, I found the answer to my
question about sharing the sheep. Okay, no, you do not
have to share all sheep. There are some breeds called
hair sheep that have a hair wool mix, and those
(35:52):
naturally shed their winter wool in the spring. I just
want you to know, yep. With you having this kind
of information at the ready, yeah, you may be getting
phone calls three in the morning. Hey, call Anty Mackenzie,
call Anchody. She's the only one who googles the way
she does. They're excellent, good. There's an issue with this
sheep over here. Sheep one sheep, one sheep is still
(36:13):
a sheep, and then plural is cheap sheep sheep you
e w E. But if I say, hey, what's wrong
with that sheep over there? Is it plural or singular?
All I know is you don't want to mess up
the sheep's pronouns. Talk back to hearing your story about
the goats.
Speaker 9 (36:31):
As a kid, I had twenty milking goats and a
couple of goats I trained to pull a wagon. I
am now seventy seven. If you use split rao fencing
like we did, you better have the fence at least
ten foot tall. Goats will get up with all four
(36:52):
on the top of a cedar fence post and then
go over the fence.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
For real, Like, are you scared about this kind of stuff? No,
you're not scared. No, because again, it's a fence within
a fence, within a fence within a fence. Like the matrix.
It's yeah, the pet matrix, it's inception. The pen is
a fairly good sized pen within the pasture, within the yard,
(37:21):
within the bigger yard, and it's all fenced in within
a fence, within a fence with an a fence. It
be like swimming out of Alcatraz, Like you really have
to know what you're going to get. I mean, it's
it's you know it. But it is also weird because
it's not a working farm. I'm we're not gonna be
milking goats. We're not going to be doing anything with
their pets, and it's a hobby farm and it's a sanctuary.
(37:42):
And again, I but the weird part is that our
first goats and sheep that we're getting are actually rescues.
We're getting them from another family that can't keep them anymore.
I don't think that you and Rachel, Rachel especially, I
don't think you should call it a sanctuary because the
minute you start calling it a sanctuary, you're gonna start
(38:03):
getting calls for, hey, can you take my animals because
blab ba bah bah bah, and frickin' Rachel is going
to take every last animal that ever existed. You're not
going to have one spot to sit down. Very good point. Yeah,
So I would say stop calling it a sanctuary and
keep calling it the Bender Ranch. The animals are showing
up this weekend. The original plan was for us to
(38:27):
get baby goats at the end of the summer, but
a family contacted Huge and Sound Goat Rescue and said, hey,
we've got our six toddler goats, like two to four
years old, and a couple of sheep and unfortunately we
can't keep them, so what do we do? And they
called us and we said we'll take them. I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
And that's perfect because now they've been family pets, they've
already been conditioned to seeing people and being around people,
and they're probably going to be like really easy to
handle as opposed to some crazy ass brand new goats
that are straight out of wherever bad ass modes come from.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
I'm unfamiliar. I see, good morning, bender and Jody, how
you do on a bender? Excited for you? I had
are goats? Has somebody shown you how to roll it
or flip it over to trim the hooks? And who's what?
And gore sheep are gonna roll them and flip them
over to trim their hooks trim their hopes? Well, yeah, no,
(39:24):
well we'll we'll get that.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
We'll take There must be a farrier who comes to
do that. Is a farrier is a person who puts
on horseshoes?
Speaker 9 (39:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Do they also trim sheep claws? I don't know, Joy,
there's not de terminology. Who's gonna by the end of
the summer, I'm gonna have so many people, Yeah, in
my phone ready to go at a Moment's not.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
You need a whoever trims the sheep? But I I
volunteer to shear them to shear the sheep.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Yeah, okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
So far favorite talkback is the guy that called it
the Puget Sound Slow Down instead of the Sound Show.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
Yeah, that was pretty funny here Jody and Bender. I
know I shouldn't encourage that Peacock guy, but I think
it's funny every time. Sorry, Uh, Talkback Tuesday. Anything you
want to send us using the talkback mic on the
(40:28):
iHeartRadio app compliments on the show, critique, some sort of
disappointment you would like to voice, or like asking weird
questions to Bender today? What weird questions have been asked?
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Do you tell us about your early days on the
radio and do an impression of your former self?
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Yeah, that was weird. That was a little weird. Yeah.
And also I was watching a documentary from nineteen eighty
five and I thought I heard your voice for two seconds.
That's that's not what he said. It was sounded like
that in my memory. That's that's not what he says. Yeah,
I mean, it's good stuff. This is what Talkback Tuesday
is supposed to be. But but but it's weird. Well,
(41:12):
it's just different. It's just different stuff today it's different.
Everyone's a little off kilter, somebody. Everybody's off kilter. Do
an impression of your former self? That was a weird question.
That was a what other radio names have you gone by?
And and do an impression of the persona attached to
each name, Like, well, I'm not I just used I
(41:35):
have used two other different names, but I didn't have
different personas a little Ritchie and crazy. It was. It
was not it was It was not a little little Richie. No,
it's not. We have any Do we have anything else
on talkback so far this morning?
Speaker 3 (41:57):
No?
Speaker 2 (41:58):
What the hell happened on the button? Here we go?
I just got off the phone with your mom and
she asked me to send in a request to hear
Wicked Game because damn, we haven't heard that in a while. Okay,
now that's weird.
Speaker 9 (42:14):
See what I mean.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Her mom have to do with anything that's weird. I
thought he was gonna say something bad about our mom.
I was like, which mom are you talking about? You
better watch it now. In every case of damn, haven't
heard that in a while, we have to clear it.
Do you want to hear Chris Isaac Wicked Game? I
love Wicked Game? Chris Isaac's hot. He still looks good.
(42:41):
Do you want me to sing it? I know we
gotta thank you.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Chet.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Haven't heard that.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
Standing the globe to find the noos? You didn't know
you needed to know, you know, Daily Vender Gazette.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
Now here's bender too by Olympic hotteb better you better
like a man in Florida, Arizona. Okay, this dude faces
five years in federal prison after allegedly doing this for
eight years.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
What could you do for eight years that will land
you in prison? Something silly like stealing his neighbor's mail, Nope,
pilfering a gasoline from local cars?
Speaker 2 (43:30):
Nope? I don't know. He was living illegally in the
Tonto National Forest for eight years. Huh, just like in
a campsite, his own makeshift campsite. Federal rules limit National
Force camping to fourteen days within any thirty day period. Yeah,
(43:53):
I'm assuming you knew that because you camp. I enjoy camping,
not for fourteen days. I like to go for one night,
get all my gear out, shake all the dust off,
use everything, and then put it all away for next year.
My idea of roughing it is not having all of
my streaming channels. Yeah, having very slow Wi Fi. It's
(44:16):
hard some dimes. You have to do your dig thaw
puzzle instead. You don't bring a puzzle camping. This guy
was arrested late June after a Forest Service officer discovered
a makeshift homestead surrounded Here was the dead giveaway? Huh?
He had his little makeshift camping area surrounded by one
(44:42):
thousand pounds of trash spread around nearly an acre of
popular recreational trails. Oh well, you give yourself away then, dude,
what's going on here? That's not what I was picturing.
The officer said he was flabberdasted a mount of debris
in the area. Records described large structures, vehicle canopies, fire pits,
(45:07):
active embers, drums, tires, bike frames, and motor oil containers.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
So he was a hoarder, but he lived in the
middle of a national forest. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
You can't be a hoarder if you're going to be
living on the landline one.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
Or the other.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
My bro, he totally gave himself away. What do you
do with drums and fire pits?
Speaker 2 (45:26):
Dude?
Speaker 3 (45:28):
You could, like if you were pretty good at survival skills,
which after watching eleven seasons of the TV show alone,
I now feel like I am clear are clearly I
have ideas on how to do things. You could live
in a national forest undetected if you wanted to, not
like this idiot throwing garbage everywhere, you know, but like
(45:49):
you could find a secret spot way off trail and not.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Have anybody find like this idiot. Know it sounds like
this guy maybe had some issues, some mental concerns. I
believe that's the program. I believe we've done everything. Enough
fun with friends for the day, enough fun with friends,
see you tomorrow. What are we doing tomorrow?
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Well, it's Wednesday, so we'll definitely do pet Peeve Wednesday,
which I know everybody's geared up for.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Okay, yeah, you can use the talk back feature now
as well. Do it now, start complaining so I could
just rack them all up and just you know, put
everything on the earth.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Lie Starley is gonna go for her second win in
Puget Sound showdown Mariners tickets up for grabs, right, we'll
have another pair of tickets to the celebrity softball game
that you're playing in on Saturday. A bunch of Seahawks
will be there. Professional wrestlers, rugby players, what have you.
And then also other stuff.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
And other stuff. I have to go home now because
I have more truck farm stuff to do. I have
more farming. I did fifty feet of farm fencing yesterday. Huh,
so I have to do another eighty today. Go show
up this weekend.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
I hope you'll find a spool on the side of
the road to put in there for them to jump on.
You know what I'm talking about, right, those big spools.
I will I will get the goats and sheep and Richmond,
I'll get them toys.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Yeah. I just have to get them in the pen first. Yeah,
and then we'll come up with stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
It's like you want to introduce them to a new home,
and you want to set the scene a little bit,
you know. You don't want it to be drab, like
I know, you'll have your fencing and that's exciting, but drab. Yeah,
you want them to show up and be like, wow.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Well upgrade, I've the stable. Will have wall to wall carpeting. Nice,
it will have it will have Wi Fi beautiful, We'll
have it. It'll have a big screen TV in there, perfect,
so it's fine. And a little mini fridge with goat
stuff in it, and a little mini fridge with goat
stuff in it. Grad to God, what is your request?
(47:51):
Good morning, Jody and Bender. I would really love it
if you guys would play Don Henley's Dirty Laundry. I
need that vibe this morning. Pretty pretty please is ninety
five seven, But yess Jody and ben Jon. Good day, Sa,
