So I got one for you. My mom and dad
went to high school together. They did not They dated
in high school briefly, they broke up. My dad dated
someone else, went away to college with her, didn't work out,
came back to college in DC, same college my mom
was at. Who was dating somebody else. My mom's boyfriend

left a note on the windshield of her car and
rolled out and broke her heart. My mom and dad
got together, married for twenty four years, had two kids.
My stepdad married four times and has two kids, and
twenty eight years later, my mom and stepdad got married

as true love, and this year will be thirty three
years for them.

With all of I can't do all of the math,
but I'm shot there alive.

How old are they? They're in their eighties?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Oh wow, Hey, so you know what, that's kind of goods.

Oh she's pregnant.

Then no, no, please no. But then my dad gets
remarried to his original high school sweetheart twenty five years later.

Man, wow, that's pretty good. Hey do your mom and
dad are they still? Is there any friendship between them
at all?
Speaker 5 (22:00):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (22:00):
Absolutely, they talk regularly.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
So are they both happy for are they? Are they
both happy for each other? That even though they were married,
they both ended up with their real true loves.
Speaker 10 (22:12):
They are. And the really twisted part is all four
of them know each other because they all went to
private schools and through those connections knew each other over
the years.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Wow that, you know what?
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Like, that's that's a different generation. Like that would never happen.
There'd be too much anger and angst and everything. Yeah
to happen.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
I like that one. That's a good one. That's a

eight is still the record for.

Us from Blue Sky U. My wife and I did
in high school back in eighty seven. We broke up
and moved on, We married other people, got divorced. We
ended up reconnecting on Facebook and got married in twenty sixteen.
That's twenty nine years.

Wow, so you're it's still one year short. They just
celebrated their tenth year anniversary.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Wow, that's pretty good.

Some people are adding that what they want you to
know that these couples are still they're still happy. Hap
will leave you together?

I wouldn't and I don't have time to conduct the
study independently right now, but I would bet if there
is that long gap, right twenty eight years, twenty five years,
twenty nine years, seventeen years where you were apart, but
then you get back together and you get married, I
bet that lasts. You think, So, yeah, I don't know

why I feel that way, but I bet that lasts.

And why are people really wanting to point it out?

Oh? So maybe it doesn't. Maybe it's like, you know what,
we thought, it was a good idea.

It was a quick wham bam, and it was like, ugh,
I know why I broke up with you the first time.

So you know what, maybe that is it where you

And you were like, ugh, I get now, I get it,

I had convinced myself it was because we had graduated
from high school and we were going different places.

So my grandparents went to school together. They got married
when they were both sixteen. They got divorced when my
dad was eighteen. They got married to other people for
fifteen years, divorced those people, and then my aunt and
my mom holped them back up together because they were

both lonely and sad. And so when I was ten,
I was at my grandparents' second wedding. Wow, So it
was about thirty thirty years.

Got married when they were sixteen?

That's country.
Speaker 11 (25:07):
They got married when they were sixteen. They both had
families who had farms in California, and California like their
prompt Yeah, like their prom picture looks like their wedding picture.
It's very similar.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Wow, that's why.
Speaker 11 (25:20):
And then they were and then they were married until
they died and they both passed away eighty seven eighty eight,
so they were married for another twenty five years.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Wow, that's pretty good. So they did it did last.

You went to your grandparents' wedding. That's good.

Yeah, there's pictures. There's pictures of me, my sister, and
my cousin at my grandparents' wedding.
