our research. So then I stepped upon an interesting mitochondria booster.
Because the mitochondria in progeria patients skin cells are broken,

I was thinking of if I can find a booster
for their metochondria, I may be able to help to alleviate,
maybe not to cure the disease, but help the children
feel better with progeria. Right. So then I did the
experiment by having a group of we call control cell lines.

Those are from healthy individuals in order to match progeria
A pen cell lines from normal donors, a healthy donors
from the age of twenty all the way to age
eighty plus. And then I have a couple of precious
skin cell lines from progeria patients. They are very rare.
We will have about two hundred patients worldwide. Then I

He came to my office the other day after like
a couple of days after the treatment. He said, Doctor Tall,

senior most senior scientists in the lab, and she did it.

PhD at Hopkins and after that, you know, we do
a post off and I didn't have a geographic costume
because my husband has a job in DC and we
at that time, I have two very young kids, the

hoping to find a lab locally. Then I saw an
advertisement in Science posted by doctor Francis Collins, and he
was looking for a post off for type two diabetes
in his lab. Right, you know, he just discovered that
was back in two thousand and four. He just sequenced

the human genome. So fascinated, so I submitted my application
to him and then he reviewed it because I was
trained as a cell biologist at Harkins. He then sent
back the email to me said I may have a
better project for you.

And then that's kind of and that's kind of where

And that was the first time I heard about progeria.
Then he sent it to me that I started reading
about it, so yep.

it was formulated in my lab. At that time, I
