Speaker 1 (00:00):
Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (00:06):
RSVP culture is broken?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I don't know if anybody really uses it anymore.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
No, people use people RSVP all the time.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
When I get something, I don't RSVP. I just show up.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Secury rules. You were wondering if the system is what
Elliott broken?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Broken? Doesn't seem like it.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
So wait a minute, so and I mean think, I
mean you can get our.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Jen you know better.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Wait, so if.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
It's somebody's like I'm there trying to think like I'm like,
I was gonna go small and do like like a
like a dinner, but you're talking about somebody sends you
an invite to like a wedding and you you don't
even answer.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
You just show up.

Speaker 6 (01:00):
Well, yeah, they know where I'm coming.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
No, actually they don't. That's why you are SVP.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
She's the one that you have to track it.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, you have to text forty times.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
The oh are you coming or not? You invited me?
You invited me? Oh my god. No, I was reading
this whole thing.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
I guess I've never thought of it about whether or
not they said RSVP culture is destroyed?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
What killed it?

Speaker 5 (01:26):
You know what, they blame a couple of things. They
blame and they don't know whether whether they don't know,
rather to blame the RSVP er or the host, the
host meeting whoever is having the event, right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
And they don't know which one is to blame.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
I would think it would it would foam more on
the person who's not RSVP ing when they're being asked
to why because it's just a common courtesy. I mean,
my my head is going to like a wedding because
those are always RSVPs, right, well, not to everybody.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
That's so formal though, right, And you're not really getting
sometimes not always, but you're getting a letter in the
mail and then there's a letter to mail back like it's.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
That never happened. And by the way, that is one
of the problems.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
What the tradition is a problem.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
What people are forgetting.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
The lack of tradition is the problem.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
So that that old way was the better way as
opposed to it being.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
All online, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Because that people are more apt to forget.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Or no no, no, no, no no no. So where
do you want to start, Where do you want to start?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
How about that people don't send out.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Nobody sends out nobody sends out mailers anymore. Nobody sends
out anything in the mail. And again, it's very easy
to just go to a wedding. But it could be
for anything. You could be having a housewarming party, you
could be having a birthday party, you could be having
it could be anything. But they say it used to

(03:03):
be either like there was no just throw it online.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
There was no evite.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Yeah, and see who you know, see who checks yes,
and who checks. Now that if you wanted, if you
wanted to invite somebody to come to something, you had
to send out an invitation. And again, housewarming, birthday, celebration,
anniversary party, whatever it was, you would have to send
out an invitation and go, hey, let me know if
you're coming. You have to RSVP, right, nobody does it,

(03:32):
so that's on the host. So they blame the host
and go people stop doing that. And when it did
it it made it very personal.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
So hold on, so people stopped including response cards.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
People don't even send out invitation.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Oh I did not know that.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Oh yeah, no, no.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Like if you and Lindsey were going to have an
anniversary party and it was the by the way, you
know what I've just realized, as I said that today's
my anniversary. If I were going to have an anniverse
rep if I were going to have an anniversary party
and we were going to invite people, we would have

(04:10):
to send out an invitation. I mean, not to you guys.
I would just tell you here, but you would send
out an invitation.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Diane knows if she's gonna come or not. You should
be aware of that.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
But nobody does that for anything. Nobody does that for anything.
But when somebody did send out an invitation, number one,
you got it, and there was a if you said yes,
like you may take a little bit of.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Time to answer and figure out, but if you said yes.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
You were signing a commitment that you were going like up,
I already said yes, we're in.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
You probably also picked what dish you.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Wanted maybe maybe.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
So that's the part of the host that f'd up
now is the receiver. So when everybody started going to evites,
two things. Two things changed immediately. Number one, and this
isn't true in all of them, Who's going, Who's going? Oh,

(05:16):
don't hide responses?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Who's going?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
And you would see the number of people in invited,
and you could see who the yeses were the nose
or the maybies were, and if it were if the
nose were people that you liked, you'd be like, I'm
not doing this. So it was it became a does
this benefit me? And all of a sudden, it's not
about benefiting the host. The host may want you to go,

(05:40):
the host wanted you there, but you're looking through it going, well,
this one's not there, going, this one's not going. I
don't want to go, and you say no. The other
thing that it made real easy if you so let's
back up a step. If you got an invitation in
the mail that you are svp'd and sent your response
in for if you were going to change your.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Response, it was an effort. You had to call them.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
You had to text them, but you had to make
contact with them and tell them I am not coming.
And again I don't mean that you're speaking to them,
but you would have to send them a text and go, hey, Tyler, sorry.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Here comes a lie. Something came up. I'm not going
to be able to make it. But you had to contact.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Them, and that's at least in the world of texting.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Yeah, but previously call now just changed me from yes
to no.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's fine.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
So honestly, it all boils down to whether it's the
host side or the guest side.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
It's manners, I guess if you want to look at
it that way.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
If you're choosing not to go to the formal route,
you're kind of turning a blind eye to manners.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
But if you're not, if it's just a bunch of
us getting together, like for somebody.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Said, okay, okay, but then if you go to the
guest side, it's the treatment of the invite. Yeah, you're
treating it like it's not a big deal whatsoever.

Speaker 7 (07:07):
True.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, not only is it not a big deal, I'll
see what else comes up a lot of times and
who else is going?

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Those guest lists are needed not to just no, but
to plan.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah what do you mean? And then you got to
do seating charts and shopping, and the.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Seating charts not for everything. Not everything is a wedding
with a seating.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Shopping is the big Okay, okay, Yeah, you don't want
to You don't want to buy food for sixty people
when only twenty are coming.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Right. Well, they were talking to this one woman who
I don't know if it was on evite or whatever,
it was, but when she when she did it, fifty
people were invited in, like thirty said were coming.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah, she went out.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
She was buying and she wasn't getting anything fancy pizzas, snacks, drinks, whatever,
And then she went out and bought all of it.
Morning of nope, nope, nope, nope, eight people showed up.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Oh got eight pissed yea.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah, she's sitting there with forty five pizzas and kegs.
Eight people showed up, and she said she felt pathetic. Yeah,
like on the morning of it was too easy for
people to go.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah, you know what, I'm tired. I'm not going. Oh,
Gym's out, I'm out.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
So are popular people with friends inundated with evs? Maybe
I just can't wrap my head around that. Like the
times I've ever received evites, they were for like significant occurrences.
Really yeah, No, I've never gotten an evite for something
that's like so easily cast aside.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
I feel like we get them for Christmas open houses
every year.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
You know, I've never been to a Christmas open house.
Are you talking about like a Taggy light show? No?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
No, no, no, people having like cocktails at their at their
house and it's kind of like here, you can come
anytime between you know, six and eleven, that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Oh, or have you ever got one of those?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
I haven't either never been to one.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah that I don't know.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
I've gotten together with friends over like Christmas break, yeah,
but that's on it.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
And I feel like, and then there's our our friends
who have Joey with the Vest, right, they have a
Christmas party every year and they always send out a
massive evite because there's like hundreds of people that get
invited to that, right.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Oh do they and do they allow can I view responses?

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Oh that's good because then I got to figure out
whether I want to go based on who's there, because
I like, if you go back to old school of
like like mail out invitations, like if somebody was doing
something and you got the the invite, if you wanted
to find out who was going, you had to start
quietly asking imagine, yeah, it would be I don't even

(09:46):
know what you're talking about. Thing of like how did
we get invited to Roach's birthday?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Well, don't ask me no exactly exactly it was the email?

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Were they individualized emails or was it a group email?

Speaker 7 (10:00):
No?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Because you couldn't see the response.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
It wasn't a group email.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Yeah, and so it would be like, hey.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Did you get No, that's not what happened. We'd brought
it up on the end.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Yeah, And that's when Diane didn't realize.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
No, but at least at least if it was an
individual email, Diane had no idea.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Said join us for dinner to celebrate Gregory's fiftieth I
went Saturday, October first, twenty twenty two. It was an evite,
true evite. It wasn't like and there's so many different
companies that do this now and that we just we
made the assumption.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
But did it take you to their to their's because
a lot of like evites, you just click on the
link and it takes you to the site for it.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Didn't you get in trouble because you weren't responding for this? Yeah,
you had to get tracked down by Katie, Yes, by
Craig's wife.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yes. And then we during this and I told her,
don't get mad at me.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
I remember when your boss tried to track you down
because you went to see a movie instead of visiting
with a client.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Well that's very ancient history. But what happened with Diane
was we were just talking about the party coming up,
and Diane did not know what we were talking about.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, right, because she didn't get invited.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Yeah, we made the assumption she was right.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Like the good old days. That's the good old days.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Yeah, but like the last evite I have outside of work,
which I mean not that I have many work ones.
That was the only one that came up in outlook.
But for personal it's a rehearsal dinner in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (11:29):
And I was the best man?

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
So it's just not something that's part of my life.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
I don't want to say we get them all the time,
but we get them regularly, Jackie and I get them regularly.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
And are you bad about it? Like we're talking with manners,
Does white person rely on your wife a lot?

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Yeah, yeah, because I'll delay because I want to see
who's going.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
I'm bad like that. I'm bad like that. I want
to see who's going.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
And when Evites first came out into the scene where
you like, this is amazing.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
I can see who's going going because and again I'm
not proud of it.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
I'm part of the problem. Is and that that this
is what they say.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
When you could see who's attending and not attending, you
automatically make it about yourself and not about the person
whose event it is. Like, is this going to they say,
benefit me? I'm not looking at it to benefit me.
I just look at it and go.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
How fun is this going to be?

Speaker 5 (12:21):
If Diane was throwing a party and the evite came
out and it was all of your like Radford girlfriends
and me, I ain't going.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I'm not going.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
I may say yes the day I get it and
then be like, I don't know any of these people
just changed to know.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
If I was on the scene in ninety eight, it's
been around for a long time. Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, it's been around on it for a very long time.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
And it wasn't even the first online RCP website.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
What was.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Well, I should have antic party?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
When is party full? When did that come out?

Speaker 3 (12:57):
I don't I don't know that P A.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
R T I F youl. It's the same same thing
party four that was in.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
Twenty twenty oh so a little more recent, a little
more recent.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Where am I going? Line one? Hi Elliott the party?

Speaker 7 (13:13):
Hey Elliot's say from Fairfax.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I know, man, Hey good, what's going on, dude?

Speaker 7 (13:17):
Hey? Yeah, So we're doing a birthday party, forty year
old birthday party, sending out these evites and it is
such a pain in the ass to go after all
my single friends and are you coming? Answer the freaking evite?
So I know if you're coming or not.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Yeah, well they're gonna, but they're gonna wait and see
who else is coming.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Are you hiding?

Speaker 7 (13:34):
Responses I didn't know you could do that. I should
have done that.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Yeah, oh no, no, no, no, no, you don't want
to do no. I want to know who's coming.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
As a possible I want to know what if it's just.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
All Diane's Radford girlfriends.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Yeah no, hide responses that that's troublesome.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
So you're doing how many? How many?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
How many people did you invite to the fortieth birthday party?

Speaker 7 (13:57):
Well we only did one side of the couple because
you had to pay for to invite or evite or whatever,
So we total invited like one hundred people. So it's
way too many people. But you send out like fifty
evites and somehow my mom responded that she's inviting another guest,
but that other guests can't come, and she's coming. I
don't know. You gotta worry about the old people not

(14:18):
knowing how hevites wear it call.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
So but yeah, so you would agree.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Now in hindsight, do people wish that you would have
mailed them an actual invite?

Speaker 7 (14:31):
I can't imagine we would get any response with that.
Who checks their mail anymore?

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Well, I was gonna say that's the other thing is
they do blame part of it on the host not
mailing out invitations.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
But I don't want that, you know, the worst thing
you could get in the mail.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
I gotta be careful saying this a wedding invitation because
now absolutely yeah, because now you have to mail.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
But first you got to mail back the response.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Then you got to keep whatever it is, so you know,
and like getting it, getting an invitation in the mail
is a real inconvenience.

Speaker 7 (15:05):
Yeah, But like you said, also, I'm actually a little
worried about people the morning of saying oh, you know what,
I don't feel like it today, and then changing it,
you know, the day of, and then I got food
for one hundred people, and then you know, I gotta
drink all the beer myself.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
I can. I can make this promise to you.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
And like you said, it's a fortieth birthday party and
you're having a hard time tracking people down.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
What day of the week is the party?

Speaker 7 (15:28):
It's a Tuesday. No, it's a Saturday.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Come on, man, Oh I don't I wouldn't it be
a Saturday. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
I don't know what they're into. Maybe the venue was cheaper.
Here's what I can tell you. A bunch of them
are going to get housed on Friday night. They're gonna
wake up on Saturday and be like fat man, I
ain't even getting out of bed. I'm telling you you
know it's coming.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
Go go pick them up at their house. If they
do that, probably be getting trash with me. That's the
prob the car.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
All right, dude, I saw.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
My friends coming in, family coming into town. We're gonna
be getting drunk on Friday night, and now you know
the party.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Out for a fortieth all right? Thank you my friend.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Yes, So if you don't want to send back a
response card, oh I hate it is the model of
mailed invitation, but online response better for you.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
No, because I still want to see who's going Kristen.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Is that what you did?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:18):
I thought so.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
That's what you did. We got one in the mail
and then responded online, Did I do that? Jack did?

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I have to go to a wedding in December? You do? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:32):
Is it out of town?

Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (16:34):
During regular holiday break? No, so do we have a
day off?

Speaker 1 (16:39):
No, Jackie's going early. I'm not.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Where's the wedding Europe Houston? Oh you can do that
in a weekend.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
No.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Jackie was like, we.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Should go, and I was like, perfect, I'll see you
there on Friday night.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
You don't have to be there for anything in the
morning on Friday.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I was invited, but I'm not going.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
I'm also not going to make the dinner.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Is this a friend or is this like a you're
saying same? I'm sorry?

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Is this wait? Is this I'm going?

Speaker 5 (17:06):
No?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
No, no, no, I don't even know. No, I have a
Friday Friday wedding. I'm not sure of the exact Timeriday wedding,
Friday wedding that I'm that. I'm I'll try my best
to get there.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
You know what, you'll see the reception. Yeah, yeah, we
ain't getting off for that.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Are you domestic?

Speaker 7 (17:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:23):
It's in Detroit.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Oh, well, that's.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Not like you're just driving from work to get there now.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
No, I'll drive from here to the airport.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Yeah, and you'll get there for the end of the reception.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
We'll see did you did? Does he know about this?

Speaker 1 (17:36):
No, this is the first I've heard of it.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
This is in December. Also, No, it's in October.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
No, this is the first I've heard of it.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
I don't know if it was also in December. If
you guys could marry that the date and we could
actually have that friday off.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
No, we're not taking that Friday off. No, the no,
it's the one in Houston's a family wedding.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Oh my god, it's friends.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
No, it's a family wedding. But I'm not I'm going
to the wedding. I'm not going to anything beforehand.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
And you's this family as well.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Jesus h I hope there ain't listening.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
From Instagram. I currently have four evites out right now.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Wait that they sent out.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
That they are hosting.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Oh my god, what are you hosting? I'll tell you what.
I bet they're not getting a lot of responses. Oh
my god, another party? We get it.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Well, maybe one is something like you always just joke
about the promotions, not realizing that Halloween's coming up October
thirty first, things like that. So maybe they're having a
Halloween I can see one of them says Halloween extravaganza.
The other two look like birthday parties.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Wait a minute, it's June when I have the RSVP
what I'm doing.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
For HALLOWEENA Oh, okay, that you need annual Halloween extravaganza.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
So this is their thing? Okay, I don't know. I
don't know what I'm doing for Halloween right. I don't
know what day of the week Halloween is. I don't
know what I'm doing it. I have no clue. Don't
ask me in June. No offense to that person, But
now you're putting my feet to the fire that I
got to commit to your event.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Well, there are events actually on the Friday before. Oh,
when's the wedding? Is it the thirtieth?

Speaker 3 (19:19):
No, No, it's not Halloween, because.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Then you'd make it back in time for the Halloween
part Nos. No, you'd miss it because it is.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
You're going to miss the wedding anyway. Yeah, so are
you missing morning activities or mid activities on the Friday?

Speaker 3 (19:32):
From what I have heard, very scant details about it.
But I guess I'm not sure exactly what time the
wedding is. But there's stuff that's happening Thursday night, there's
stuff that's happening Friday.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
You're not making any of that.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
No, No, that's why I say I'll probably get there
for the reception, right whatever.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Right, And by the way, if it were important, would
have said something to me.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
No, I just know how I've learned about it or
what the answer is going to be.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
That's why.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
No, you don't know that.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Okay, can I have the Friday off?

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Then no? So I'm saying you have it off? That
can the show take off?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
That's a very selfish approach.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
From Regina on Facebook. My stepmother fusses about RSVP for
Christmas dinner. Yeah, like you're gonna throw me out if
I don't show, if I show up at my dad's house.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
But that is but like that, that's a food issue.
That's a food issue.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
No, she's saying, come on, you know that these very
close family members are going to be there for something
like that Christmas dinner, right.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
No, but maybe something came up this year.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Maybe you're going to if she's going, maybe they're going
to the other side of the family for dinner.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
But is that a case where the online platforms are
over used?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yes, that just pick up a goddamn phone.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Because at least the person who had three or four
out they were birthday parties and the Halloween thing. They
were like really celebratory dates. Christmas dinner is going to
happen if you don't have to say it's our annual
Christmas dinner. It's it's just a thing.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Right.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
So when the person's relying on you to respond to
you're like, come on, you know I'm going to be there,
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Where am I going? Line four?

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Don't write that for your wedding.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
We don't know that.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
I'm nervous for it. Now what time?

Speaker 3 (21:25):
I don't know what time it is. All I've gotten
is to save the date.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Oh so maybe they're doing that very true wedding.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
No, but I know it's it's going to be Friday,
and I'm assuming it's going to be Friday evening ish.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Oh, you should be able to make this.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
I really hope, because you say I.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Think there's like there's a dinner or something, but.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
I'm really hoping it's not like a thirty wedding.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Well, I'll find out. Hi, I see how fast I
can get to rate it.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
No, I'll get off early. Hi, Elliot in the morning,
Good morning Elliott. Yes, Hi, who's this?

Speaker 7 (22:08):
This is Todd?

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yes, Todd. What can I do for you?

Speaker 6 (22:11):
We like getting the email of the uh in the mail,
the invitations in the mail. We do is we go
my wife and I because we use it as part
of the gift. We go get a picture frame and
have it professionally, you know, set in a picture frame
and engraved in a picture frame, so they always have
their invitations.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
That's nice.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
That's a gift.

Speaker 7 (22:35):
Yeah, yeah, the gift. It's a it's an expensive picture frame.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
You realize I gave that to you. That that's that
you're You're Indian getting it? Well, no, so you're not.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
No, but he's taking he's taking, no, but taking that
and then making it into a gift. Don't don't you
guys have a framed wedding in the.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Mm hmm. We do not see we do?

Speaker 1 (23:05):
I don't think so yeah, I do.

Speaker 7 (23:07):
We do.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
It wasn't given to us as a gift, but I
mean it's like boomerang gifer is that?

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Wait?

Speaker 5 (23:17):
So you so you you go out and I'm not
saying that it doesn't cost money. Framing is very expensive.
But that's the gift for the couple, is their wedding invitation.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
Well, sure it'll last forever. It's not like it's a
coffee maker or something that's going to break in five years.
People forever, but you know what it's.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I'm sure it's very I just I never got one
of those. I'm sure it's very sentimental exactly.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
I mean something, do.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
People like them?

Speaker 7 (23:44):
Like?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Are they like this is nice?

Speaker 7 (23:46):
Yeah? They love them.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
I mean they tell us that. I mean, how do
they really feel? I don't know, but I really don't care.
I think it's a great idea.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
I do too. But is it expected of you now?
So do you always have to do it?

Speaker 7 (23:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Invite Darryl.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
You know, he's the uh, he's framed guy.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
He's the framer.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
We don't go to very many weddings anymore. We're a
little older, so all of our friends are married.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
So, oh, Diane write that down for Detroit though.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
That's good, And I do like that he gets to
walk into others' homes and he always sees the gift.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Oh, have you walked into somebody's house.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
And it's not up, you don't go searching for it.
But if it's there, you can obviously see it, but.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
I would point it out.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Look, I gave you that, all right, very good, very good,
Thank you sir, thank you, my friend.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
That maybe that is maybe that's a good thing.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
I don't have a copy of our program, even like
in a known place.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Wait, I mean the invite or the program.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
I'll invite in program. Yeah, I'm just saying, I don't know.
If someone said, can you go get it for me,
I'd like to frame it. I'd say, oh, it might
be with the tape of our wedding, which I've never
been able to find.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
Yeah, you know what, jack Now that I think of it,
You know, Jackie and I got for somebody once and
what do they call those where.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
It's it's a frame, but like it's a like a
big frame shadow box, shadow box. Yeah, they got married
as a Jewish wedding.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
They got married, and we got the I say we
Jackie got the glass that they broke and put the
broken glass in there.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Oh that's cool.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
I don't remember if like the wedding invitation. There's no
way the wedding invitation was in there. But whatever it was.
Maybe it was a picture or something.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
And then that's that's like in a little bag, right,
the glass that gets stomped on.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 5 (25:32):
Thought that was kind of cool. Yeah, yeah, I don't
have that. Where am I going? Line?

Speaker 7 (25:37):
Too?

Speaker 4 (25:37):
But to be fair from your stories, I was not
a part of your wedding, right, Diane. Was what other
than sand what it would people be framing for you
as guests at your wedding?

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Nothing?

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Yeah, I mean they could have gotten the guy who
married us one of his dreadlocks.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
I saw my bouquet. Yeah, we have from our wedding. No,
when I say that, we do have Lindsay's bouquet on display.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Do you really it's in a Yeah, it's in like
a little glass case.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Ours ours is too.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
It's not christ What are you saying, Oh my gifts
to you?

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Yeah? What was that?

Speaker 4 (26:20):
That's personal?

Speaker 1 (26:22):
What what was it? Was it a bouquet?

Speaker 4 (26:25):
I actually screenshot her website and put it in a
digital frame.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Oh what are those frames called Fruma or something like that?
Aura Aura or No, that's a ring.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
I know that's a company that does the digital frame.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Oh whatever, Hi, YOA in the morning That's what I
got you. I just there dropped a picture for you.
Here you go, and it has nothing to do with
your wedding. It's me.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Who's this?

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Good morning Elliott?

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Yeah, Hi, who's this?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Hi? This is I mean?

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Now are you guys?

Speaker 7 (27:00):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I lead from New York? How I am doing great?
How are you?

Speaker 3 (27:04):
I'm good?

Speaker 4 (27:04):
I'm good.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
So people are not our rsvping to invite. So I
sent an evite. As you well know, Memorial Day.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Was a wash.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Remember it was really cold riting. Remember, so all my guests.
I invited fourteen guests for four for July. Out of
the fourteen, thirteen were invited for Memorial Day. But then
that up being a wash, and we all discussed how
we're gonna do for for July. So about a week

(27:36):
ago I sent an evite because everyone knows, you know
I'm gonna do. I'm gonna host for for July. Out
of the fourteen guests, eleven viewed, eight have not responded,
three responded, and three were delivered. Never even opened it.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Did you know you could see that for even that
I didn't know. So when you send out an evite,
you could see who viewed it. By the way, That
is good to know because some of them I'll read
the evite and then do nothing with it.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
And do you know who it is?

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Like?

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Can you see by name who it was?

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (28:18):
No, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
You know what's even worse what everyone is pretty much
family only a couple of friends. And one of my
sisters says, calls me, doesn't even respond to it. I said, well,
if this person's not going, I'm not going.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Oh it's not about that's where you got that. Those
are your maybees.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Those are the maybees, yes, no or maybe, and they'll
check maybe so that on the day of they can
look and go. You know what, I ain't going, just
check now. Yeah, that's Eileen. I would go to your party.
I mean I can't, but I would.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
I would.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Hey, you guys are all invited, come down, all right,
like it.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
I'll be there, all right, very good, Eileen, Thank you,
thank you.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Diane will be at Eileen's fourth of July party and
that of her family's wedding ceremony.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Fourth of July on Saturday. All right, give me a
do I know where I'm going?

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I do.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Give me a quick break at Ellie in the morning.

Speaker 8 (29:18):
For a few weeks we've debated if working the Declaration
of Independence into promotions would be tacky, possibly even inappropriate. Well,
we hold these untruths to be self evident, whether it's

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Who cares right? Not my wine total?

Speaker 8 (30:05):
Mister Jefferson, Life, liberty and the pursuit of hundreds a day?
