So yeah, now we're really slipping.

Also, by the way, are you superstitious about everything? Because
you were like, oh, the earrings that I had on, No,

wear those. I was gonna wear my excuse me, I
I was gonna wear my oving necklace, but I didn't
have that on.

You're very superstitious, just about sports stuff.

Like going to games. You know, if I'm wearing a
certain earring or T shirt underneath my jersey or something
like that, then I am funny about that. But other
than sports stuff, no, I'm not really superstitious.

And then things that I didn't think of that you
were telling us, is like, because she knew that she
was going to have to whistle, and when Kathy whistles,
she puts her finger in her mouth like opening a can.
She was like, I can't open cans this week? What
if I cut my finger and then I won't be
able to But no, that's very smart, Kathy. I would
have never even thought of that.

I was so silly. I was just thinking, you know,
I just don't want to get a cold, get a
swift throat, you know, ruin everybody's schedule. I just I
want to make sure like I'm ready, I'm ready to
go when they when they tell me to go, so

It was quite an orchestrated thing, wasn't it. And just
to Omega was amazing, I mean kind, they did everything
for me and the people out at Phoenix. Noise and
vibration in Frederick Maryland. They were the ones that brought
in all those decibel readers and set up all the equipment. Andrea,
I'm not gonna say his name, Rate, Vicky ot and
Scott Harvey. Those were the guys that, like they set

it all up. They came early, they answered all my
questions and they just I can't say enough about everybody,
all the experts, they were amazing.

I mean, I was in front of twenty thousand people
at the capitals. You know, the capitals is why I

listen to some arenas and they're on it. They're on
points the minute the reps make a bad call. Reps

you suck the minute that anything happens. They're on point
with what they're supposed to do. But sometimes, you know,

for the world record Guinness World Record blow like, we

the glass because we didn't want to be in there.

had done it a couple of times, we went in
to hear Kathy whistle.

We were hesitant because it was so loud outside of
the studio.

If you were with us twenty plus years ago, for
Fallout Boy. It was that same room, the biggest studio,
and we could hear it and it was loud outside,
and then they said, come on, come on, you gotta
hear it inside.

Now I've heard, I've heard Kathy whistle at a game. Normally,
I'm down a couple levels. I don't mean that in
the negative way, Kathy, but no, I'll here Kathy whistle.
When Kathy's blowing in your face. Holy crap, that's loud.

Yeah. Well, somebody told me the other day that OSHA requires,
you know, ear protection. After I think it's eighty five
or ninety decibels, and if you're standing right next to me,
it's about one twentie thirty and that's the sound of
the jets, So it's wild.

Yeah, yeah, exactly. He switches seats at the games that
tours are off.

He was an expert witness for what, for attesting to
what what what happened? Would that that gim me Colla
had that right? There were people who had to sign
on her behalf. Oh yes, but he also there's something
with the whistle. You didn't get this with the burp.
The whistle frequency was a big deal, and he kept
telling Kathy what notes she was whistling. I mean, it's

an incredible ability.

By the way, can I say this. Can I say this.

perfect pitch.

But like yesterday he like, there was one of the
whistles and he was like, oh, that's between it.

F And I was like oga. People were like, oh,
that's impressive.

I was like, who cares? Like what, I don't even
know what it means. I have no idea what it means.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Well, it means he's hearing. He kept saying it was
enough sharp.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
But are there a lot of people who have perfect
pitch that don't no, no, no, that don't know they
have it?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Like if I had perfect pitch, I wouldn't know.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah, at some point, I feel like you would have realized, do.

You if you have perfect pitch, do you graduate to music?

The No, we've all heard you try to you call
it harmonized. You're really just trying to sing the same
note as the artist that we come back with.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Right, you don't have it.

He and but but Chatz was amazing, like he said
he was talking about because he obviously is very in
tune with the sound of things. So he was telling
Diane and Kristen and I how all of us save
for me, sound very different in person, right, And I explained,
(05:16):
I have less processing because I have a golden voice, right,
which is the radio equivalent of perfect pitch. And so
he not only is dealing with as you are kind
of describing a gift and a curse for music, he's
hearing it all the time, including whistles.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Oh thank god, I don't have it, or maybe I
do and I just haven't turned it on.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
But yeah, that like when he was when he was doing.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
That, I was like, oh my god, all you do
is walk I'm not mad at him, he was a
very nice guy. But I was like, all you do
is walk around and go g F A, g F A.
I could see that being the curse oh, horrible unless
you don't know you have it.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
So he was an official witness, and then Jim from
Omega there lead and engineer, was also christened a witness
for Guinness.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Right, and we weren't witnesses. We were just there to
see it and be a.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Part of it.

It happened.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
It was funny because Guinness had ahead of time preapproved
Jim and Chess. They tried to hand you a form
just to have a third backup in case, and you
like shook them off, like no, no, I would have
felt horrible, like dev is a first base.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
I'm like no, no, no, no, no, no no. Kathy's awesome, though, Yes,
Kathy is awesome.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
You guys had fun talking hockey the oh absolutely, hold on,
let me grab Kathy.

Kathy, Hey, hey, how are you.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
I'm great. It was so funny because I heard you
couldn't get a hold of me, and all my friends
were texting me going, Kathy, they can't get hold of you.
I'm like, I don't know why I'm sitting here waiting.

Yeah, I have no idea. We have some phone problems
on this side. But listen, I'm glad that that that
this worked out, Kathy, that was fate number one. Thank
you for inviting us yesterday.

run your have you run your six miles today?

By the way, day religiously, So that's not true, that's
not true.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
True, that's not true. Well, because Tuesday they had a
sound check. They wanted me to come in just to
make sure everything was right with the room, and so
I didn't go in on Tuesday, So I thought, ooh,
I don't usually miss a day. So I thought, you know,
I'm kind of superstitious. I thought, well, I better I
better not, you know, miss this. So I, uh, I didn't.
(07:43):
I missed yesterday, missed yesterday twice this week.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
So yeah, now we're really slipping.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Also, by the way, are you superstitious about everything? Because
you were like, oh, the earrings that I had on, No,
the earrings that I had on on Tuesday, I better
wear those. I was gonna wear my excuse me, I
I was gonna wear my oving necklace, but I didn't
have that on.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
You're very superstitious, just about sports stuff.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Like going to games. You know, if I'm wearing a
certain earring or T shirt underneath my jersey or something
like that, then I am funny about that. But other
than sports stuff, no, I'm not really superstitious.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
And then things that I didn't think of that you
were telling us, is like, because she knew that she
was going to have to whistle, and when Kathy whistles,
she puts her finger in her mouth like opening a can.
She was like, I can't open cans this week? What
if I cut my finger and then I won't be
able to But no, that's very smart, Kathy. I would
have never even thought of that.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
I was so silly. I was just thinking, you know,
I just don't want to get a cold, get a
swift throat, you know, ruin everybody's schedule. I just I
want to make sure like I'm ready, I'm ready to
go when they when they tell me to go, so
can I ask it?
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (08:55):
It was quite an orchestrated thing, wasn't it. And just
to Omega was amazing, I mean kind, they did everything
for me and the people out at Phoenix. Noise and
vibration in Frederick Maryland. They were the ones that brought
in all those decibel readers and set up all the equipment. Andrea,
I'm not gonna say his name, Rate, Vicky ot and
Scott Harvey. Those were the guys that, like they set
(09:19):
it all up. They came early, they answered all my
questions and they just I can't say enough about everybody,
all the experts, they were amazing.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Hey what is it? Can I ask you one other
sports thing real quick?
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Yeah?

Is this true?
Speaker 1 (09:32):
At one point when you were in high school, did
you own the state record for most stolen bases in softball?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Yeah?

Set records was a christ style answer.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
But you know that was kind of the warm up.
So yeah, so when I was again I played, I
played softball and yeah, but that was that was a
few years ago.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Now. A couple of other things. Number One, are we
saying are we saying what happened yesterday? Or no?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
What do you want to do? Kathy?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Yeah, I mean we you say it. You've got the
you've got the platform.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
So the record going into yesterday for the loudest whistle
for a woman was was it?
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Correct me? If I'm wrong? Kathy? One hundred and sixteen.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Point five at sixteen point.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Seven, jud buy fescibles one hundred and sixteen point seven.
I am happy to report Kathy blew that away. It
got into the one eighteens, which is freaking awesome, awesome.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Yeah, when eighteen point eight I think that was the
that was the number they recorded, Joe, and we hit
it several times, so that was great. Oh my gosh,
it was so fun.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Hey, were you nervous at all?
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Not really, I mean not nervous as far as uh.
I mean, I was in front of twenty thousand people
at the capitals. You know, the capitals is why I
did this. I love the Capitals, you know, I wanted
to I wanted to motivate people because you know, you
listen to some arenas and they're on it. They're on
points the minute the reps make a bad call. Reps
(11:11):
you suck the minute that anything happens. They're on point
with what they're supposed to do. But sometimes, you know,
the Capitals fans aren't ready, so I want to get them.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Do you want to be ready? Do you want to
be ready to go? Absolutely? Absolutely do this thing.
Speaker 6 (11:27):
We have a job the and now were there to
drink beer? Come on, let's get it. Well, we could
drink beer too.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
We drank beer yesterday. Hey, what is the what is
the do the capitals? I should ask this? Do the
caps know that you're trying for the record.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
I did tell my my rep a few months back
that we were trying for it, and and so she
is aware. And I said, hey, you know, I don't
want anything out of it. I just want it to
get the fans into the game. I just wanted to
help the players, you know, I want I want it
to be the player on the bench, so the thirteenth man.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
You know, want to Yeah, sure, no, you want to
be You want to be one of those that gets
everybody going.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
And you do, absolutely you do.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
It's important. I mean they say it all the time,
the players say it all the time. When you know,
when the fans get into it, it kind of rous
them up. Big hits, bad calls, you know, goals.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
And Katha world record holder. That is awesome. Now how
long will it be until you find out from Guinness?
Do we know? So?
Speaker 6 (12:36):
I have to get all the information from Phoenix Noise
and Vibration with Frederick Maryland. I have to get this
stuff from Shane Koloha, who is the photographer videographer. I
have to get all that I have already the proof
from the two expert witnesses, the music experts, Chaz and Jim.
So I have to get all that information, give it
to my daughter. She'll help me put it into files,
(12:58):
submit it to Guinness, and then they hit a couple
of weeks, a few weeks, I think a few weeks,
then they'll say yes and send me my certificate.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Kid, all right, so the just real quick, real quick.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
So yesterday when when Kathy was doing the the attempts
for the world record Guinness World Record blow like, we
were on.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
The other side.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Like anybody who's ever seen a movie where there's like
a recording studio, we were on the other side of
the glass because we didn't want to be in there.
I don't need to be making noise or whatever it is.
So we were on the other side. But then afterwards,
like after we knew the record was done and Kathy
had done it a couple of times, we went in
to hear Kathy whistle.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Wait she no, They made us go.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
We were hesitant because it was so loud outside of
the studio.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
If you were with us twenty plus years ago, for
Fallout Boy. It was that same room, the biggest studio,
and we could hear it and it was loud outside,
and then they said, come on, come on, you gotta
hear it inside.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Now I've heard, I've heard Kathy whistle at a game. Normally,
I'm down a couple levels. I don't mean that in
the negative way, Kathy, but no, I'll here Kathy whistle.
When Kathy's blowing in your face. Holy crap, that's loud.
Holy crap.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Yeah. Well, somebody told me the other day that OSHA requires,
you know, ear protection. After I think it's eighty five
or ninety decibels, and if you're standing right next to me,
it's about one twentie thirty and that's the sound of
the jets, So it's wild.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Her daughter told us that her wonder year.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. He switches seats at the games that
tours are off.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
He's got two years.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
She's all right, all right, I want them. Can we
play Kathy whistling?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
So remember this is after this, after Kathy already and
at this point she was just showing off, right, But
we did not have ear protection. Everyone else in the
room who had been in there for the official attempts.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Hey, we're wed and ear plugs.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
I was not.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
I was not all right, hang tight one second, Kathy,
hang on one second.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
So she did three for us, and she definitely I
wouldn't have been surprised if that third attempt she did
for us also hit that one to eighteen mark.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
But do you want to hear it from the clap,
because that was Oh.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
That's how that's how they would let her know, like
like like a director hitting the clapboard, you just.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Want to go right to the whistle.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
No, do the clap. The clap's fun.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I'll do the clap for the first one, and then
you'll hear as we get to the third one.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Wow, all right, here we go.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Now the key and you didn't mention it on the
phone with Kathy is you have to hold it and sustain.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
For three three seconds?
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Right so again, which, by the way, like you hear
that and go three seconds. That's nothing like I farted
longer than three seconds. That's a long time. That is
a long time. And again it's not like because you can.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Go that's not loud. No, Kathy's blow like blowing her guts.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Out and reading doesn't have to be the same for
all three seconds.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
It just has to read for three peaks.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Peaks at three, so like that one probably wasn't three seconds,
but don't worry, we'll get to a three second one.
Here was the second time at this point because I
was holding my phone, I was trying to figure out
a way to hold my ears and hold the phone
to record. Here's the second one showing off.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
And then we got to number three.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
What did Diane say before you entered the room about
your ears?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (16:54):
They were like, do you guys want to come in?
And I was like, yeah, mine a ringing already. Anyway, No, biggie,
what this could have cured your tonight? It didn't could
have just could have cured your This.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Is like hitting somebody in the head with ambnesi.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
In fact, it was so as quiet as it was
in the rooms where we were on the other side
of the grass it was loud yesterday.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
And then Kathy fires up. Kathy, that was awesome. I'm
so happy for you.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
Thank you so much, Thank you so much, thank you
to everybody that helped me out. I really appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
And the two things Number one, I'm definitely gonna want
to follow. Well, three things number one. I'm gonna want
to follow up with you once we get official word
out of Guinness, just so it's listen, we saw the readings,
we saw everything that was done.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
We know that you own it.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
But once we get the official word, I want to
follow up just so we know, no know that you
that you do it. I'm also gonna call my ticket
wrap and make sure they know you should they should
do something for you.

You know, if we can just the fans to know
what it is. And the guy in once and four
seventeen that doesn't like the whistle, move him from place else.

You know, put him in say Jack seats.

I would be and I appreciate that, you know, if
we could do something. And I'm all for the Caps,
so you know, if we can do something to get
it all riled up, I love that.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I will say that I left I left there yesterday
going like I don't really think I'm as that big
of a Caps fan like Kathy is all in It's great.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
Yeah, I'm all my daughters twice as much as me,
so she knows all the statistics. I mean she can
you ask her about anything and she'll tell you the
game the time, the player that unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Oh no kidding, I'll call her later.
