Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is Wonder.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Oh, it's that new food hall that opened up at
Potomac Yard. It just opened on Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
But it's not it's just it's like very tech based, right,
like they're getting food.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Oh, they switched to mobile ordering.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
From a lot of other restaurants because it's it's tiny.
It's it's not to call the food hall. It's misleaning
exactly food hall you almost picture, uh, is it like.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
The Burrow in Tyson's where it's like where where it's
like there's.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Is just a fancier food court.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
There's like a bunch of like like like food court
is probably the.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Best, but they're yeah, they're better restaurants.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Food delivery or pick up partnering with celebrated chefs from
across the country. Like where where are they getting their
food from?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
So I could go in and order something from Fresh
Laundry in San Francisco and it gets delivered.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
There is stuff being finished off at Wonder, but it's
been it's being shipped like frozen.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I think it's shipped frozen and essentially the food is
just then heated up there.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I know people have finished off at the Hoffmann theaters. Wait,
I don't understand how that works.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I don't either. And they're like, we've got Jose Andres
and Bobby Flay and they're naming all these people and
it was so confusing, just.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Jose does not have a restaurant inside there.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
But but you're saying inside there like it's large. It's
not big. It's the size of like Akava, which is
where I ended up going because one confused me.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
So Mukava love CoA.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
But they forgot my two side sauces.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
The which ones did you get?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
And this is actually a testament to how much it
was raining.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
You didn't go back in No, no, but can I
ask you this? Have you sworn? Because this is right
up your alley. I'll never eat at Cava again.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
That location location.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
So yes, I love Kava. I Cova delivered over the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
The I kidding.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
But wait a minute, wait a minute, so the so
how do I don't understand how I don't understand how
wonder works.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I've been to food.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Holes before and I get this is not a new
restaurants in the area. I think it's like they're in
double digits.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Oh real, the DMV and you said this just open.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I think Friday was opening day.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Oh really, Yeah, what'd you get? Well, nothing because you
didn't know what to do. No, I went to Cava yet. No,
But I mean, what is what restaurants are in the
food hole.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'm looking at the list. It's Burger Baby, Elms of Pizza.
There's Bellies, which is every kid's favorite restaurant, Happy Tunas Barbecue.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Sophomore year where you notice Happy the wait So all
those restaurants are in there.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, but they're stop seeing restaurants like they each have.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
So is it just is it just or is it
just a bunch of iPads where you go through and
you can order whatever you can order from multiple places,
and then it's heated up and presented that way.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Okay, can I'll be the first one to say Happy
Tuna is not heating.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
But you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
No, I don't because.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
You still need somebody to prepare the tune the sushi. See.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
This is what I sat in my car trying to comprehend,
and then it was just too much.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Where is the door? Where is it?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Potomac York the bank It's literally right next to the kava.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Oh like where where across the parking lot? What's the
name of the the Burger place. Oh, five guys next
to cava right.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Can I say something really embarrassing?

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Did you also have five five guys delivered over the weekend?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
How long was your weekend?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I know mine was only two.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Days and it was Saturday. I had both of those
delivered on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
My door dasher was so wet by the end of
the day.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Oh my goodness. Wait what that's a lot of salt.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Oh my god, salt is good. It's on the pyramid, like,
stop eating salt. It's on the pyramid line one. Hi,
Elliot in the morning, the scry.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I'm sorry, it was a mountain. I hate a mountain
of salt. I'm sorry. Who is this?

Speaker 5 (04:29):
Good morning?

Speaker 1 (04:30):
This is Jordan, Yes, Jordan, what can I do for you?

Speaker 5 (04:33):
I went to the Wonder in Philly a couple of
weeks ago, and I just wanted to kind of explain
a little bit what I saw, how it worked, because
I don't think y'all are getting it right.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Well, no kidding, Tyler didn't even go in look at it.
The wait so it's just like a concierge.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Honestly, it's the Seashells and demolition Man.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
The wait. So, how does it work, and where is
it in Philly.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
There's a couple of locations of Philly. Actually it's pretty good,
so I guess they thought it was popular enough to
open multiple spots. But I went to one kind of
off Broad Street.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Gotcha.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Anyway, you walk in and there's one eye. I mean,
there's multiple iPads, but it's all all the restaurants are
on one iPad that you can order from. So, like
multiple people in my party ordered from different restaurants. But yeah,
I was walking in expecting to see like different vendors,
like different cubbies.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Correct, it's not like that at all.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Though.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
They share one kitchen and it's pretty large, but the
actual feeding area is pretty small. So they're all in
one kitchen and then you order your food and everyone
can order from different restaurants and it all comes out
in one bag.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Can I ask you, this is the food good?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
So certain, I would say some things are better than others.
Like we got like a Greek bowl or Mediterranean bowl.
Those were good. My husband got pasta and that was
definitely like it was frozen and then sawed.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Ye.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Some stuff, it's just very in quality. We didn't get
the Bobby Fleaburger. They had Bobby Flay stuff. I don't
know how that was. But they had steak. Some stuff
were good.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
It just depends.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I like, Bobby Flay's got good food, but I don't
want it frozen.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I don't want to frozen.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Yeah, exactly, So maybe it's I mean, it could be.
We didn't get a lot of the like they had
steaks and stuff there too. We didn't get that that's.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
What it is. It's Bobby Flay's steak.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
So they're gonna throw it in the microwave. It's gonna
come out looking great.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
I don't understand how that's gonna work.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah, that's weird. All right, very good, very good, Thank you, ma'am.
I'll try it.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I'm glad I asked.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I'll try it.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Well.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I didn't doubt that.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
He'll come in tomorrow. You know.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I went to Wonder yesterday, but he'll also forget. We
talked about it, and then I ordered door Dash for dinner.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Yeah, first meal. This Wonder was my first meal.
