Speaker 1 (00:00):
Overcome common health obstacles and live to your fullest God
given potential. This is Maximized Living Radio with Doctor Greg
O'Neill Healthcare on a mission sponsored by lit Its Family Chiropractic.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
All right, guys, welcome to another week Maximize Living Radio
with your host, Doctor Greg O'Neill. This week, I'm going
to be talking about timeless health. I don't know if
you're anything like me, you know, being the age that
I am and how long I've been doing chiropractic, I've
seen a big change in the world. And the other
day I was just reflecting on that at the time

(00:39):
I'm recording this. There's chiropractic offices have the ability to
be like a preceptorship or an internship for young chiropractice
as they come out of school. And so there's a
student that I know that it's in chiropractic school and
they're thinking about doing that next year. So anyways, it
takes time. As a chiroprac office, you have to apply

(01:01):
to the chiropractic college to be a preceptor. So you
have to show them that you're in good standing in
your notes and your facility and just that you'll be
a good place for that, and you know, one of
the basic questions was when did you graduate and where
did you graduate from? And I'm like, oh my gosh,
it was December one, twenty twelve, and that I always

(01:24):
felt like that was yesterday. But at the time of recording,
that sells like thirteen years ago. That's that's crazy. Like
time in many ways, time flies In some ways, I
feel like I just graduated. In some ways, like I've
been a chiropractor forever. There's been a lot of life
lived in thirteen years, whether it's practicing in three different locations,

(01:45):
having my own practice, getting married, having three children, having
a home, all that good stuff. But yeah, time goes
by and time changes or people change and things change.
And the biggest thing that I was kind of looking
into was just how society, how different it is. And

(02:05):
it came across this video, you know, like YouTube. It
YouTube's changed as well, like it. Social media used to
be about like you would log in, Like I remember
when I first got Facebook, like two thousand and six.
You would log into Facebook, you check it out for
a little bit, you would log out. Okay, it wasn't
like on your phone. There wasn't algorithms deciding what you

(02:26):
looked at. You decided what you looked at. It's almost
hard to think of that. It was like that, like
you went and looked at some people's pictures or something
and they're like, you know, thumbs up or a great job,
and you logged out. And now it's just crazy like Facebook,
you go on there ready for war, like it's this,
here's all the politics and here's all this social justices
and that like it it's crazy. And anyways, long story,

(02:50):
start came across this video and it was people in
an airport in the nineteen seventies and there was this
man kind of like a man on a street interviewer
was interviewing people let Dulles International Airport. I believe it
was nineteen seventy nine. And just like they're panning people
in line, and yes, it's busy, like there's a lot
of people there. It's not like it's slower and anything

(03:10):
like that, but just the pace that people walk like
people were just walking slowly, calmly. When they spoke to
the camera, they were like smiling, they were happy. They
were like talking about where they were going, how less
they were to go on an airplane, and how they
had saved up for their trip and they were going
on a vacation, and how excited they were, and people

(03:30):
just look like lighter, like they just look calmer, and
it was slower. And you see that when you see
these old videos, like I'll even look up, like you
can type in high school videos from and then you
punch in the year that you graduated. Now I graduated.
I'm not like old man winter here, like I graduated
in two thousand and five. When you go back and
look at those videos, like things just were different. People were,

(03:51):
I think, a little more bored. There was a little
more downtime. So time has changed. Time has changed, Well, technically,
time hasn't changed. We still have the same twenty four
hours in the day, we still have the same one
hundred and sixty eight hours in a week. It's just
that our time has been filled. Our time has been filled.
And so what's happened. What I've noticed is over the

(04:12):
last you know, thirteen years, he said, it's no longer.
I think money is much that drives people's decisions. Although
that's a huge thing, don't get me wrong. It's time.
It's time. Do people have the time for it? Because
when I first start out. And again, this is just me,

(04:32):
this is my opinion. Okay, some people might be listening
to this and you're like, oh, well, money's a problem
for me, and this is okay. I get that. I'm
just talking about my own life my space. I would
talk about organic foods, I would talk about exercise, I
would talk about making these changes in your life. Most
people would say the same thing. Oh, I don't have
the money for that. I don't have the money for
organic food I don't have the money for this. I

(04:54):
don't have the money for gym membership. I don't have
the money for that. Now can people still say that?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
But it was like it was like every other conversation.
I felt like, now, what do people say, I don't
have the time for that. I don't have the time
to exercise. I don't have the time to get up
earlier and do all these things. And I don't have
the time to prep meal, prep and do all of
these things. It's all time time time. People don't have
the time like I even have. I'm almost surprised. Like

(05:21):
when I was twenty years old, you know, I didn't
have two nickels to rub together, like I'm in school,
I mean hundreds of thousand dollars a debt. But like
I see kids now, like the coming they have jobs
and they're like they're paying for the chiropractic care, they're
able to get organic food. Like I think in general,
those times can be tight. People in general have access

(05:41):
the money. But then you ask that same person to
commit their time, it's a different conversation. It's a much
different conversation. And if you're anything like my wife and I,
it's like tithing your money is not as difficult as
tithing your time. It's it's a big one across the board.
And so what changed. What happened in twenty twelve, Well,

(06:03):
you start to dig a little bit, and that was
basically when statistically about fifty percent in that year, about
fifty percent of American switch to having a smartphone. And
then from twenty twelve we almost think of it like
a fault line. There's like the before and the after
of having smartphones. And it literally changed the world and

(06:25):
over the coming years slowly and actually slowly in some ways,
but quickly in other ways, very quickly changed how people
relate to each other, how people spend their downtime, how
people fill up their time and how people set the
priorities because we're just there's no downtime. Like think of it. Now,
you go into a waiting area before, what would you've done.

(06:45):
Maybe you would have sat like at the airport, get
a magazine, relax, get a bite to eat, grab a
cup of coffee. What do people do now? They have
the earbuds are in and they're on their phone. Okay,
they're watching TV, they're watching movies, they're watching videos, they're
listening podcast, they're scrolling TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, I mean,

(07:05):
all of it. And it's just this constant, constant, constant stimulation,
especially with the younger generation who doesn't know any different,
like I do remember a time before smartphones and sore
some of you do as well, and so it just
fills up that space and it creates this false reality
that you don't have time, when in reality you do.

(07:28):
So there's perception reality. The perception people have is that
time is running short, they don't have time to crunch
things in the reality is is that when we if
we can start to remove time on the smartphone and
get reconnected to one another, and I would say more
importantly reconnected to your own body and what your body

(07:48):
is telling you and what you need to do. That's
when real health and freedom can come. Because what I've
found is that not only are people disconnected from each other.
That's well known, and I think the pandemic really accelerated that,
but people become and this has been happening for a
very long time, even before smartphones, disconnected from their bodies.

(08:09):
As they see their bodies, they see the symptoms is
like a nuisance or a problem that needs to just
go away. This headache, take a pill, This menstrual cramp,
take a pill. Acid reflux, take this pill, obesity, take
this injection. Okay, Like it's just insert pill, insert drug,

(08:29):
insert cream, insert vaccine. Everything is just towards convenience, and
we've become a culture obsessed with convenience. Now, is it
nice to have the monern conveniences, Absolutely absolutely it is.
But the problem is that when they start to rule
our life and dictate our life and change how the
way we see the world, that becomes a problem. Then

(08:51):
we're not the masters of our own fate. We're the
slaves of our of our conveniences, and we're a slave
to our time. So I want to flip the script
on that today, like little steps that you can do
and how even something as simple as chiropractic care can
help to reconnect you to your body, reconnect each other people,
and bring really connection to others. And that's something that

(09:13):
I feel like I get to do every day. So
stay tuned. I want to talk about that.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Use radio WHP five eighty.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
What if the bright Side wasn't just a state of mind?

Speaker 1 (09:23):
What if it was a real place with blue skies,
perfect green moving radio.

Speaker 2 (09:27):

They newly updated new pictures of our baff members, of myself,
my wife, doctor Christa. It's funny sometimes when people come in,
you know, you listen to someone on the radio and
you get like a mental picture of what they look like,

(09:48):
and then you see them in real life and you're like, oh,
they don't look like that, and I've made the mistake.
I've I've corrected this because oftentimes I'll go into the room,
you know, in someone and comes in as a new
patient and they're sitting there waiting the examining for me,
and I'll come in, Hey, how are you nice to
see you? And usually they'll say they listen to the
radio show, and sometimes people say, oh, you look much

(10:10):
different than I imagined. Now. The mistake that I would
make is I would say, oh, what did you imagine? Now?
That's just setting yourself up right, setting yourself up now.
A few times when this was years ago. So when
I first started this radio show, I was twenty nine
years old, about to turn thirty, so it looked a

(10:31):
lot younger than I look now. And I remember people say, oh,
you look you're so young. You know, you're youthful and
you're vibrant, and I was not picturing someone so young,
like wow, congratulations, and I'm like feeling on cloud nine.
I'm like great, they think I'm young. I got all
my hair, all this kind of stuff. And I had
someone recently they're like, oh, I thought you were going

(10:53):
to look different than how you look, And I made
them as soon as I said, I'm like, oh, why
do I say that? I just said, oh, what were
you expecting?

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
He goes, oh, I was expecting like a six foot
eight tall, big strong guy, like a linebacker. And I'm like, oh, thanks,
because I'm like I'm five foot eight, Like I'm not
very tall, you know. I like to think I'm in
decent shape, but I'm not. I'm not a linebacker or
you know, completely muscular or anything like that by any means.

(11:20):
Probably thought that was funny and I had a good laugh.
I'm like, wow, I'm not sure if I'm going to
take that as a compliment or not, but I'm just
gonna be quiet. And then Alex, who is our X
ray text, so she'll sit in the room with me
at times and you know, notate put down the notes
and she's trying. She's about laughing out of her seat,
like she's literally out of the corner of mine, of
my periphery. I see her like shaking with laughter covering

(11:41):
her face. I'm like, oh great, it was good, good times. Anyways,
what was I talking about? Okay, getting back to timeless
health principles, talking about my journey as a chiropractor from
twenty twelve all these years later, and how the world
has changed, and you know, I could talk about the

(12:01):
negatives all day long, but what good is that? Right?
One thing I want to bring here is some optimism
and positivity. You know, in the last twelve years, we've
gone through the smartphone and all the political unrest and
all the social media, look at the pandemic, all of
those negatives, distrusting institutions. Yeah, it's been if you look

(12:25):
at it one way, been tough times. Here's a blessing
for you, all right. So in the last almost thirteen years,
I'm no longer looked at as a crazy chiropractor. Now
I'm very blessed to have to be a chiropractor. At
the time that I am a chiropractor. You know, chiropractors,
especially back in the seventies, the eighties into the nineties,

(12:47):
they were looked at as charlatans and quacks. And there's
a reason for that. And I've done a whole radio
show on this. There was a conspired effort by the
American Medical Association to quote unquote maintain and eliminate the
profession of chiropractic. And you can look this up, this
one all the way to the Supreme Court. So there
was a group of chiropractors. The main one was Chester

(13:10):
wilk who's from Pennsylvania. I consider him a hero in
the chiropractic profession. So Chesterwilke from Pennsylvania sued the American
Medical Association for defamation and unwrongful restrict basically the restriction
of trade, like you're not supposed to Just like if
you own a hardware store and there was a hardware

(13:32):
store across the street and a customer came over, like, Oh,
I was thinking, I'm going to the one across the street.
You legally can't be like, oh, there are a bunch
of crooks over there. They're quacks, they're no good. You
don't want to go over there. Okay, you get that's
defamation and restriction of trade. That's against the law. Can't
just say that. The medical world does that now, not
as much as they used to, but they did that
all the time. They say, don't go to chiropractor, they

(13:53):
could kill you. Don't go to chiropractor, they'll hurt you.
They're quacks, they're Charlatan's. So that's what they're saying is
it's actually illegal. And I know many of chiropractors who
would write letters to people's family doctors and threaten legal
action if there's saying stuff like that, because there's just
baseless claims. They're saying this out of fear, because of competition,

(14:14):
because the chiropractor might be doing a better job than them.
So Chester Wilk, again from Pennsylvania in the nineteen seventies,
he sues the American Medical Association. This goes on for
years and for a while. I mean he put up
you know, you can imagine tens of thousands of dollars,
hundreds of thousands of dollars in his own money for
lawyer fees. At first, the American Medical Association was just

(14:37):
going to use was just going to crush them with
the legal bills, which just appeals draw things out, you know,
suffocate them with the legal bills. So they stopped. What
happened was is the chiropractic profession pretty much came together
and donated scores of money to get to really push
this through, to get after it. This ended up going
all the way to the Supreme Court. You can look

(14:59):
this up. It's called the Wilk versus AMA Wilk like
Wilk versus am Medical. American Medical Association, and the Supreme
Court in the United States of America found the American
Medical Association guilty of conspiring to contain and eliminate the
profession of chiropractic. They would have basis claims. They What

(15:22):
they would do is when a medical student would graduate,
they would give them gifts which you're not supposed to
do that anymore. To give them monetary gifts or scholarships,
different things like that, the associations, the drug companies, and
they would also hand them what they called a quack pack.
They called it a quackpack. It was like a booklet,
like imagine a bag with a booklet in it, and

(15:44):
it showed this is who you'll refer to, and this
is who you'll not refer to. And they called you
will not refer any of your patients to chiropractors. Chiropractors
are quacks. They're going to kill your patients. They said
all these things, baseless claims were all the way to
strom Supreme Court, and under oath, all these people admitted

(16:04):
that what they said was wrong and not true. So
what started happened though, But unfortunately, even though chiropractors were
vindicated from like a legislative standpoint, there was a lot
of damage done in the public's eye, and so people
still were wary of chiropractice. Now some of you know
my own personal story in that my mom, who is

(16:25):
a nurse for forty three years, like old school nurse,
when I told her I was going to chiropractic school,
she said, I didn't know my son was going to
be a quack. Like that's where she's kind of half joking,
not joking, but like that's where her mindset was. That
old school kind of meant mindset. Now she was supportive
of me, and she's come around obviously, and chiropractics great

(16:46):
and helped her and all that stuff. I share that
story a million times. But what I've noticed though, in
the last what thirteen years or so, is that chiropractic
natural healthcare has become more mainstream and accepted, and the
medical world, especially through the pandemic, has come in under
scrutiny and questioning, and people are flocking towards natural healthcare

(17:09):
like never before. And this is reflected in the marketplace.
So the marketplace will provide for consumers what they want
to buy or what they need. So like places like
Costco or Whole Foods, Walmart, grocery store, big box stores,
if something sells it, if something sells, then they're going

(17:30):
to sell it basically. And so now you know ten
fifteen years ago you had to search niche niche websites
forms to find organic food, grassed beef, or functional medicine.
Now whole foods, Costco, restaurants, Walmart, they all carry organic,
they carry kimbucha and probiotics, gluting free products. Parents in general,

(17:53):
in general, although they can be a lot better, they
understand that reading labels is important. Sleep quality goes health. Basically,
I don't sound like the crazy chiropractor anymore because people's
baseline health IQ is a lot higher. That's the thing
that I noticed the most. People's baseline IQ and understanding
of natural health is drastically different than what it was

(18:16):
for me in twenty twelve. And I know I'll know
this because I do what's called a doctor's report for
my patients. When they come in we take X rays
to get adjusted. At a follow up visit, I'll sit
down and go over X rays and explain them, usually
in a group setting. It's almost like a mini seminar,

(18:38):
like an introduction in what we're doing. Hey, here's what
X rays should and shouldn't look like, here's how we
correct this mine. I also go over what chiropractic is,
what it is not natural healthcare and juxtapose that to
our current healthcare system. I used to take a lot
longer like this doctor's report that I used to do.
Used to take. Now, I was on the shoulder end.

(18:58):
Some people would take an hour. I was at like
forty minutes, fifty minutes. It was gone down over the years.
Now I'm at like twenty minutes if that, if that
twenty minutes tops, and I touch on the medical world
for maybe one minute. I just say, hey, like, listen,
this is how health insurance is designed. Here's how our
healthcare system works. Here's how what we do is different.

(19:19):
It's very quick, and people nod their head like they
get it. People understand more than ever before. What I'm
trying to get at, though, is that all the excuses
that we've had before of people not knowing, people being ignorant,
people not having the right information. I believe that those
excuses are gone in that we do know better now.
You know better now. The trick is actually doing it.

(19:43):
And that's where again I was talking about at the start,
is carving out the time to do it and making
it a priority. That's the important one, because you'll always
have time for the priorities in your life. You'll always
have time for the most important things in your life.
Like for me, my kids are one of the most

(20:03):
important things in my life. I could be at work.
I could be in the middle of talking to like
a patient. I could be in the middle of doing
like a really high end meeting. Heck, I could be
in the middle of recording this radio show right now.
If there was an issue with my kids, I drop everything.
I'm running out of that office. I'm getting off the
radio show. I'll drop everything I'm doing to make sure

(20:25):
my kids are okay. My wife like my number one priority.
Anything's wrong with her boom radio show, gone money, anything,
it doesn't matter. It's the people that you love. It's
your highest priorities. If you have to sit and look
at what are your highest priorities, and a lot of
people don't think about that. One of the quickest ways
to see what your highest priorities are is where you

(20:46):
store up your treasure. Okay, I believe in I'm going
to paraphrase drastically, but in the Bible, it's like where
you store up your treasure there your heart is as well.
It's like where you're putting your money is where your
priority are. So you can look at your credit card bill.
I could look at your credit card bill and tell
you pretty quickly where your priorities are and how those

(21:09):
may need to be changed in order for you to
start getting better health outcomes and spending more time on
your health. Stay tuned, we'll talk about.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
That news radio WHP five eighty.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Notice how weight loss is always about what you give
up pounds, food, even freedom and radio. Again, if you'd
like to make an initial appointment, it's a super simple process.
Give our office a call seven one seven six two
seven zero three sixty five. Radio and podcast listeners get
fifty percent off the first initial evaluation and any necessary

(21:42):
X rays, So it's only seventy dollars. It's I mean,
it's a great deal. It's super simple. All you have
to do is call seven one seven six two seven
zero three sixty five. We'll find you a time. We
have morning, mid morning, into the afternoon, into the evening.
We'll find a time that works for you and your schedule.
I realize what I'm talking about today is just how

(22:03):
quote unquote busy everyone is and how jam packed everyone is.
And it can seem like it can seem like you
have no time to do anything. But we still have
the same twenty four hours as we did fifty years ago,
as ten years ago, as yesterday. We still have the
same one hundred and sixty eight hours in the week.
We can do it. It's just whether or not our

(22:23):
health becomes a priority for us. It's whether or not
your health becomes a priority for you. And unfortunately, most
people's health does not become a priority until they lose it.
And once that person loses their health, it becomes the
most important thing in their life. And people will sell

(22:44):
their house with their job, get all the money in
the world it. They'll fundraise hundreds of thousands of dollars,
they'll move across the country to the place like the
Mayo Clinic, and they'll get the best doctors in the world,
and they'll do everything in their power just to get
their health back. We all know someone like this. Actually,
I'll never forget this. When I was younger again growing

(23:06):
up in Canada, playing hockey, growing up, there was one
of our hockey coaches who was you know, say, I'm
twelve and he's maybe in his late thirties or something
like that, and he was diagnosed with a rare form
of cancer. Now, the Canadian healthcare system has its limitations.
I'm saying that nicely, and so when people would his

(23:27):
healthcare is free, but when people would have a real,
like actual problem. A lot of people would want to
go to the United States for care because to give
the medical system their due, we do have the best
emergency care in the world, like the Mayo Clinic and
Johns Hopkins in different places like that, Like that's where
all the best doctors go. So those patients tend to

(23:48):
want to go there, but it costs money. And I'll
never forget. They had fundraisers at the local arena and fundraisers.
He was a fire you know, part of the fire department,
and all these different fundraisers they did so that he
could save up and go to the Mayo Clinic to
get treatment. And thank goodness he I think it turned
out he didn't need treatment or something like that. But anyways,

(24:09):
it just it made that impression at a young age.
Like looking back, I'm like, man, people will just literally
just quit their job. As important as your job is
for you, you get stricken with a disease, you'll drop
it in a second. Okay, You'll pick up your whole family,
as important as your house is. You'll sell your house,
move everything just to get well again. Like imagine your child,

(24:30):
your grandchild, how this problem you'd do anything to get
them better. The health. Your health is the most important
thing in the world, the world league where we're at. Obviously,
your relationship with Christ and your spiritual health that's more important,
but as far as your physical health, it's it's right
up there, and so yeah, we have to do Imagine

(24:52):
you just did ten percent of that twenty percent of
that half of that. Imagine you had just a little
bit of that effort now to take care of it
so that you never got in that situation. And you
talk to people who are in those situations, you're like, man,
I wish I took care of myself back then. May
I hear it every day? By the way, as a chiropractor,
I see people who are in their sixties and seventies
and their spines are a literal wreck, and they're just like, man,

(25:15):
I wish I took care of this when I was
in my twenties or in my thirties. I have a
patient who comes in. His name's Johnny's in his seventies.
If he sees younger people in there, he gets like excited.
He'll tell me He'll be like, good for you for
taking care of your spine now, Like I heard him
talking to a guy who is a roofer out in
the out in the waiting are. He's like, good for
you for taking your spine now. I should have been
in here when I was your age and I didn't.

(25:35):
So that's good that you're doing this now. And it's
a good reminder because like when you're in your your twenties,
your thirties, even your forties, you can feel pretty good,
you can feel youthful, and your your youth can kind
of offset a lot of the bad lifestyle activities that
you might be doing. But eventually that catches up for you.
And just because you're diagnosed when you're older, does not

(25:58):
mean that the problems started when you're old. I'm gonna
repeat that, just because you got diagnosed at sixty years
old does not mean that the problem is there because
you're sixty years old. That's the big mistake. That's the
big mistake people make is they blame their age. And
when you blame your age, I've said this in a
million times. It's like all I share on this radio show,

(26:20):
but it's so true. If you just blame your age,
you can't control that. You can't get a time machine,
you can't go back you're where you're at right now. Okay,
you cannot control your age. You cannot control your genetics.
You can't. Now here's the cool part though, This is
really cool. So there's your genetics, the things that are

(26:40):
wired in that are written in ten. Like, for me,
my mom was five foot one, my dad was five
foot four. I'm lucky to be five foot eight. Okay,
I'm I'm like, I walk around when I go visit
family at home, I'm like the tall guy and five
foot eight. I'm very lucky that I'm at height. So

(27:02):
people like, you know, if I ever got a comment
that I wasn't very tall, I'm like, hey, I'm just
happy I made it. So there's there's certain things that
are written in pen. If my dad's five foot four,
my mom's five foot one, what are the chances of
me getting a six foot two. It ain't happening. Okay,
it's not happening. There's there's reality to that situation. Now,

(27:24):
there's things that I can control. I control the food
that goes in my body. I control the air that
I breathe. I control what I consume as far as
through my eyes, like through TV or social media, smartphone,
all that stuff, so I get to decide what my
health is. That's called your epigenetics. So there's a concept
called epigenetics that actually influences your genetics. So your genes

(27:49):
can get turned on or off based on your environment.
The decisions that you make will influence your genetics. And
there's I could tell you numerous about this, but essentially,
if that if you're eating while you're taking care of yourself.
And again, this is one of these things. People kind
of understand this now, like just because your parents were

(28:12):
obese doesn't mean that you're destined to be obese. Does
that make sense? Just because your parents have type two diabetes,
you might have a predisposition for it, but it doesn't
have to be your destiny if you take care of yourself.
These are what we call timeless principles. These are timeless
principles and we need to start focusing on them. Again.
The purpose of this show is timeless health. I want

(28:32):
to get into that now. When I was at my
graduation in twenty twelve, there was a speaker I'll never
forget this, and he shared it. It was kind of
like a preview to this radio show. He said, we're
at a crossroads right now in that our society is
becoming more digitalized, more hands off, chiropractic remains one of

(28:54):
the few professions that is hands on, that focuses on
where human connection and is inherent to chiropractic. It's a
hands on approach. There's a human element to it, and
there's an authenticity to it. There's an integrity to it.
That's why I love chiropractic. One of the reasons in
our world more so now where we're at now. I mean,

(29:15):
look at artificial intelligence and our smartphones. Everything is going
to be done for us. There's going to be professions
and jobs coming in the next few years or a
few decades that we can't even think of right now.
Your kids will have a job that you couldn't even
imagined when you were younger. It's hard to even think
of that because I remember when we were younger and

(29:36):
they said, some of you will have jobs that haven't
been invented yet. It's hard to even describe what that
would be. But if someone when I was ten years old,
they're like, yeah, when some of you will have a
job as a YouTube influencer, It's like, what, what's YouTube?
It's not even invented yet on the internet. I mean,
that's just coming around. So things change, society changes, but

(29:58):
principles don't change. And one of the principles of chiropractic
is is that your spine has to be in a
normal alignment. That's never going to change. Okay, people are
always going to need a healthy spine, People are always
going to need to eat well, people are always going
to need to exercise, to think the right thoughts, to
minimize toxics. These are what we call the five Essentials.

(30:18):
They do not, will not, and cannot change. Because your
body is it ain't changing in ten twenty years. Like
everything else in the world. You're still going to have
to take care of yourself. So if you're waiting on
the next great invention, the next great artificial intelligence, blah
blah blah, it's not going to change you. In fact,
it's probably going to make things worse in our society.

(30:38):
In many ways, some things will be better and more convenient,
but as far as people's health, we have to be
the ones that step up and take care of ourselves.
And so again that's what chiropractic is all about. When
people come into our office, they're greeted by name. We
know who you are. We show you around the office,
you get to meet everyone. We have a brand new

(30:59):
phasis ability, five adjusting areas, two exam areas, X ray
sweet I mean, we have put in time and money
to make sure that we're giving the best care possible.
When you come in again, I'm doctor Greg O'Neill. It's
called Lyditz Family Chiropractic. We'll go through your exam, do
an examination, go through a consultation exactly what's going on,

(31:20):
how we can help you, what your goals are, how
your spine can be connected to the health concerns that
you're dealing with, and then how we can help you
over time. You know, some of the most common conditions
people come in with that we're able to help are
things like neck pain, headaches, migraines, dissness in the back
and the neck and the shoulders, shoulder concerns. Neuropathy is

(31:43):
a big one. It's an emerging issue. Obviously, lower back issues, diattica,
shooting pain down the leg, knee pain, ankle and hip problems.
These things can all be corrected through chiropractic care because
chiropractic gets to the root cause of these issues by
figuring out where your spine is act compared to normal,
setting a course of action to get it back into

(32:05):
its normal position. The cool part is is our body
has an inherent intelligence. It's not artificial intelligence. It's real intelligence.
Oh there's a good radio show idea. You have real
intelligence in your body. It's not artificial. It's the real deal.
It's the real thing. You are made by God to heal.
It will happen if you take care of yourself. It's

(32:27):
not artificial, it's real. It's authentic, it's inside of you.
You just have to take care of yourself and do
your part. And for most of us, we just need
to get out of get ourselves out of the way,
remove the interference. That's what chiropractic does. Take pressure off
the nervous systems so the body can heal. So stay tuned, Hi.

Speaker 3 (32:45):

(33:50):
dot com, you can check out about our office where
those of you are patients of mind. You can also
click on the shop icon. We have supplements for sale
as well through our website. Supplements are come from three
main companies, Pure Path which is source from regenitive organic forms,

(34:10):
Max Living, which is again made in the United States,
Very High Quality Certified GMP. Certified GMP basically means that
it's a third party is certifying that what the supplement
is stating that is in there is actually in there.
So if it says it has, you know, two thousand
milligrams of vitamin C from a certain source, it's certified

(34:34):
that that's actually the case. So it's certified GMP, and
that's that's really cool. That's a good thing. I also
like that it's made in the United States, non GMO,
non genetically modified. And then also from Designs for Health.
Designs for Health is another reputable company made in the
United States. This high end, good quality stuff. It's certified,

(34:54):
it's third party certified, so that you know you're getting
the right stuff because a lot of times you go there,
you go get your vitamins and supplements. Okay, they can
have all the marketing in the world, but what else
is in it? What are the other ingredients? That's what
you want to read. So when you look at a supplement,
you're looking at what are the the other ingredients, because
if you're looking at binders and fillers and food colorings,

(35:17):
sugars and fake sugars and superlos and sweeteners and stuff
like that, it's junk, not good. And then they've done
so many studies on the cheaper supplements to study years ago,
they were studying supplements at Target and found that it
didn't even contain a lot of what it said it
was containing. Like it showed that multi vitamins didn't even
contain iron and things of that nature. So you want

(35:40):
to make sure that it's third party certified. So that's
certified GMP or c GMP on the label. So again
lit its family Chiropractic dot Com. Click on the shop
out icon. If you're not a patient of mind, you
can also order supplements from there and it'll ship directly
to your home. If you do get implements at our office,

(36:01):
you'll notice that we sell our supplements. It's just something
that I decided to do years ago. We sell them
for at least ten to fifteen percent off the MSRP
that the manufacturer suggested retail price. I don't know. I
just don't I'm from a small town, Okay, I'm from
a small blue collar town. Grew up in a little

(36:21):
rancher house. My mom was a nurse, my dad was
a teacher. I just I don't know. I don't need
to be a multi billionaire here selling supplements. People like
want to give people break. Times are tough, and like
I always look at prices of things as a business owner,
and some people are like, what's the price point, what's
the profit margin? All this kind of stuff. I always think, Okay,

(36:45):
would I pay that price for that? Would I buy that?
And if the answer is no, then I can't. I
just there's something about it. I just can't put it
on the shelf or I can't put it at that price.
Now here's some of my favorite supplements. This is cool
so boone brot, the pure Path bone broth protein my favorite,

(37:05):
so pure Path it's it again source from regenitive farms.
So their goal is every year they put more soil
in the ground in America than taking it out. So
there's an issue like I'm not a big climate change
guy global warming. I'm not getting into the politics of it,
but there's a reality in that it's better for the
carbon to be in the earth than in the air.

(37:28):
Everyone can agree with that it's better for the carbon
to be in the earth than in the air. Because
what happens is through this the industrial farming, due to
all the chemicals that they use and the runoff and
waste and everything like that, is that the pop soil
gets stripped and in the United States, we've lost over
the last hundred years about twenty five hundred years worth

(37:50):
of top soil. It's just a crazy amount that's being
stripped off every year, and we're losing the quality of soil.
So what regenerative farming does, and it uses a lot
of biblical prints, is the goal is to put more
get more soil back into the ground than they take
out through regenerative farming. So that that's cool, and it's
and it's it supports its local farmers. A lot of

(38:11):
them are in like Tennessee, Missouri area. The cattle raised
there again all in the United States of America. So
it's it's it's a wonderful product because it's it's local.
It's great. It supports real people on a real mission
to not only help the earth and the environment, but
more importantly, what's going in your body? Okay, because there's

(38:32):
a lot of companies out there like, oh, it's good
for the earth. It's like, okay, but it's it good
for me? I won't know. There's a good quality, and
the bump box protein is great, so it's it's I
like the chocolate flavored it tastes amazing. I think it
tastes like almost like hot, like hot, that hot chocolate
type taste. And I put it in some water and

(38:52):
I just mix it up and drink it. Now, some
people are like, oh, that's gross. I think it tastes good. Okay,
I think it tastes good. That's just my opinion. Now,
a lot of people that like it and smoothie. So
you take a scoop of that, you put it in
with some milk or I use coconut milk, some frozen berries,
maybe some greens powder if you have some of that,
maybe a little peanut butter, maybe a little half a banana,

(39:13):
and you mix that up. My kids love that. They
drink that in the morning. So right away, when my
kids are drinking that in the morning, they're getting the protein,
they're getting their good fats from the coconut milk, they're
getting their good fresh carbohydrates from the organic berries and
the banana. I mean, I know they're getting better nutrition
than every kid in their school because most kids, what
are they doing. They're eating either nothing or they're grabbing

(39:34):
a little bar or eating cereal that's full of junk
and sugar, is no protein, no nutritional content at all.
So this stuff. I use these supplements myself. I'm not
just like pedaling them. These is the stuff I use myself.
So my favorite is the bone broth protein. I also
like the COQ ten. So coke ten most people hear

(39:55):
that it's great for your energy. So how COQ ten
works in when every cell in your body, there's this
process called the electron transport team. It's this series of
events that happens that produces energy and one of the
two well, there's a few limiting factors to that. The
main limiting factor is oxygen. It needs oxygen to work.

(40:17):
It's kind of like combustion happening inside your body. It's
just like event that creates energy. Well, it doesn't create energy,
it's transformed. Energy can never be created or destroyed. But
it transfers energy from your food to mechanical to your body,
your muscles and your heart and everything like that. So
it needs oxygen. Another thing that it needs, another rate

(40:38):
limited step that it needs is called coke ten. So
it needs that in order for that to happen. So
when coke ten levels are low, like if you have stress,
oxidative stress in your body, coke ten levels start to
go down and that can affect people's energy. They feel
lower energy, they don't feel as good, they don't feel
that same pep in their step. So coq ten is

(40:58):
really good. You hear people say it's good for your heart,
for your brain, for your organs. It's also really good
for your general energy. And that's something that I notice
when I take my koch ten. I take it in
the morning and I take it at lunch. I notice
more steady energy, feel just a lot better. So it's
it's an awesome supplement. Vitamin D three. So vitamin D

(41:20):
three is another great supplements at sake that I take myself.
And that's good because I tend to skew lower. Like
when I get my vitamin D levels tested. My wife
tends to score higher, and her vitamin D scores mine's
always a little low. So it's between obviously zero and
one hundred. You want to be I would say at
least above eighty. You want to be between eighty and
one hundred for your vitamin D levels on a blood test.

(41:43):
Now I'm always I score in the forties a lot.
It's frustrating because but I'm also not as good as
you know, maintaining my taking my vitamin D throughout the year,
especially in the winter. So I'm making sure this winner
this fall to really take my vitamin D. Three supplements
that really helps to push up your vitamin D levels
and that helps to boost your immune system. There's so

(42:03):
many functions that vitamin D helps with, but the big
one is your immune function. Another great supplement to take
that I take on a daily basis is also vitamin C.
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. Most people think vitamin
C is for the immune system as well, and you'd
be right in thinking that, but it's a very powerful antioxidant.
So it's an anti aging for the inside of your body.

(42:25):
So your cells just love when you give it that
vitamin C because it gives them kind of the armor
that it needs to withstand oxidative stress and oxidative damage
that can happen through a lot of chemical stress or
physical stress things that you put your body through. So
those are the main supplements that I like. I could
go through some others, but those are the main ones
that I like. Again. Lit Itzfamily Chiropractic dot Com. Click

(42:47):
on the shop icon or if you're a patient of mind,
you can pick up the supplements directly at our office.
It's a super simple process. All right, So finishing out
the week here, I'm talking about timeless principles with your health,
and I'm talking about chiropractic now in that one of
the main reasons I love chiropractic is that it doesn't change.

(43:08):
It's the same thing. Medicine is always changing. It's always changing.
Why because it doesn't work. It doesn't work. I mean,
you see one one pill comes on the market, goes
off the market. Another one comes on the market, goes
off the market. The miracle pill of today will be
tomorrow's lawsuit. Okay, I could sell You could name hundreds

(43:29):
of examples. One of the big ones would be like viox.
Biox was a drug that was pushed for arthritis. It
ended up killing that they know of fifty thousand people,
and maybe even more. There's been other medications that kill
many thousands of people. So today's miracle drug is tomorrow's lawsuit.

(43:49):
So we don't want to focus on what's the next
best drug coming out. We want to focus on timeless principles,
and that's where chiropractic comes in. You're always going to
need a healthy spine, You're always going to need to
eat well. You're always going to need to minimize talking
in your body, exercise, and think the right thoughts. So
that's what we're talking about, the five essentrals of help.
