and tell eybody.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
What you do.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
So.
Speaker 6 (01:36):
I'm Valerie Hosteller. I am a dental highchienist at Matthias
and mcgaro in Camp Pill.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
I love them. They were my dentists. Were was the
uppertive word. We'll talk about that later.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
But nothing I did, There's nothing I did.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I know, it sounds like something I did that they
kicked me out, but it wasn't anything that they did
not kick me out.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I know your face, this.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Is radio your insurance change, No insurance change, exactly, That's
exactly what happened.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
So I'm a little bit sad about that.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
But today you're gonna have a wonderful show because you
know we're not drinking obviously yet.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Well I did get Oh you did. I did get
a a pack of Malibu cocktails from Art for my birthday.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
I know it was your birthday. Got to bring the bell.
Thank you, Art, It's wonderful. I had to return the
favor for that Long Island iced tea back in the spring. Yes,
what you said, you still have not even opened yet.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
How dare you You still didn't open that.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
I couldn't drink for a while.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah, I know, but you can't now I can now yet.
Oh okay, did you crack it open? I have not yet.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
I was probably waiting for you guys to come out.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Oh yeah, we can crack it. You know what happened
when I had Long Island Ice said Land, Well, like
Art's never gonna look at Long and I see the
same like every tell when he looks at the bottle,
He's like, oh gosh.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
So other than us, you know, like I gotta tell
you when thing. I know that every time Stephan I
get on air and I sound like or we're on
good day, Pa, We sound like we're alcoholics, but honestly,
we're not. We do drink and moderation on weekends typically
just on the weekend. Yeah, just the weekends. I don't
really drink during a week right, paw Right, Yeah, we don't.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
We don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
But today we're going to talk about everything and anything. Honestly,
we're talking about something every woman and because women go
through it, honestly, I think you men have.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
To deal with it. So this is really interesting for
you guys.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Also that every woman either has gone through, is going through,
or will go through menopause middle age. I think we
all will have, God given we'll get to middle age
aging well. And why honestly, your friends, whether be girlfriends
or guy friends, or you're sick your significant other truly
should be the best medicine you will ever need. And
(03:56):
I think that's something that is extremely important. So if
you people in your life, right is one of the
most important things that you want to keep around, and
they need to be people.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Over the years, and I don't know if this has
happened with you guys.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
You know, so in my twenties and my thirties and
my forties and nine in my fifties, you know, people
like my friends have evolved over time, and I think
when people get older, they don't really acquire new friends.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Right, That's that's what I hear. Anyways.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Sure, and I know Steff, I know you for a
long time, and I had the pleasure of meeting your
sister very blessed. I don't know, we got closer into
probably last year. I want to say. Right, So, when
you have good people in your life, I truly believe
it helps you to age gracefully. You have fun, which
makes your mental state much better, and I think it
(04:46):
truly makes you feel that you're kind of invincible.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
So what do you think about that? And now I'm
in I'm in postmata.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I don't even know.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I talked to a doctor and she goes, well, you're
in menopause always, right, And I'm like, shoot me now.
But the point being is I guess you're pre or
there's a pairy now and then menopause and post menopause. Right, So,
but I mean, I truly believe that that's part of it.
What do you think, Steph, what's going on in your life?
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Oh, I'm postmenomal I think I'm menopausal slash post menopausal
since I have the estrogen patch and the progesterone. I
don't have the night sweats like I used to have.
I never got hot flashes during the day. But I
do believe my testosterone is starting to get a little
(05:34):
low or lower. But the all the other side effects
are pretty much gone.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
That's nice because of the estra dial you're on and
the pedestone.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Yeah, that really helped.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, and that's something Value' kind of dealing with now. Right.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Well, during COVID, I was having a lot of issues
and so I ended up having a hysterectomy M and
so it put me into a media at menopause. So
they put me on an estrogen patch. But during all
of that, I couldn't sleep at night. Hot flashes you
want to rip your clothes off.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Every man's like, yay.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
You're hot, you're hot, you're cold.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
So definitely the estrogen patch that was a game changer. See,
I wish I would have known that.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
I just started mine about a month and a half ago,
maybe two months, maybe two months ago, And you know me,
I just I don't do any medications at all. Like
I could have a pounding headache and you know, be
like ugh, and I still won't to take an advil.
But when you and I talk, Steph, You're like, you know,
this is really helping because I was I'm the one
that was driving the car, and then all of a
(06:41):
sudden my back would be on fire, like literally on fire,
and I'm taking like you know, I'm taking the seatbelt off.
The car's going ding ding ding ding, like I don't care.
I'm like ripping my shirt off, you know. And then
the car besides is like what the heck is going
on with her? You know, and I'm in my freaking
bra or spurts bra and where it's like what in
the world And he's half naked naked driving and you know,
(07:05):
and it's funny how a man can drive shirtless but
we women can't do that.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Could you imagine?
Speaker 7 (07:09):
I mean accident?
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I mean, I mean I think it'd be weird brandy
man to even drive a shirtless If we women do it,
forget it.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
You know, that's gonna be like the weirdest thing.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
There's a new term for what is that your headlights
are on?
Speaker 6 (07:27):
That?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Our earth is like, oh god, his mouth is covered,
he shaking his head. That might need to move this
show till like midnight It shouldn't be on a Sunday, definitely,
not on a Sunday, not midday. It should be like
Saturday at nine pm, you know, or like after hours,
after hours with Nadia at my trim line, which was
(07:52):
weight loss and nutrition and be healthy and what she's
talking about, Lord, because I have nothing to do with
each other, which actually it does.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
It has to do with the women.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
And honestly, you men on kind of I'm hoping when
you men listen that you get to know your partner,
your girlfriend, your sister, your mother, your daughter better because
the only the best way for a man to really
get to know a woman is from another woman.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I truly believe that, don't you think?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
I agree absolutely?
Speaker 2 (08:23):
And so what what I think is is the fact
that part of us going through menopaus and I've been
done for a very very very very very very long time, right,
And I had a doctor on last week I think
it was last week or the week before, and she
she was very technical terminology and I'm very I don't know,
(08:44):
I'm not that, let's just say that. So it's a
sense that we want to make sure that we take
care of ourselves as women, and part of it is
the people that are around us. Right, has anybody out
there listening had a time in their life that that's
toxic in their life?
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Have you ever had that?
Speaker 6 (09:02):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Absolutely? Okay?
Speaker 2 (09:04):
So that how did that? I remember mine? So how
do you think that changes life? In the mentality of yourself?
Speaker 6 (09:13):
Like?
Speaker 3 (09:13):
What was what changed between you then and now?
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Like?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
What do you think that? What was yours?
Speaker 6 (09:18):
I just think that people that are that way it
makes you emotionally and mentally just.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Drained very much. And I know now that I'm older, I.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Try to separate myself from people like that, and I
just want more inner peace as as much as I can.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
That is you nailed it.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I think peace is the older I'm getting, the more
I want peace in my life, peace in my mind,
peace in my life. And I really want more laughter
and fun because I'm genuinely that kind of person. You know,
I don't want to I'm just I just don't like
being down. But I think that makes it. The inner
piece is huge. And how about you, stuff? What are
(10:01):
your thought process in that?
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I think as we get older, our circle of friends
becomes so much smaller because we do put the people
around us that mean the most to us and bring
us up that they're not trying to bring you down.
Or of course everybody has issues here and there, but
you don't. You really don't want to be around a
(10:23):
Debbie downer all the time. So we surround ourselves with
people that make us happy.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, and I think one thing we want to tell
you us three women here that are you know, early
for fifties, mid fifties, little after fifty.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Oh yeah, thanks, just a tiny bit. Okay, I'm not
a I'm not a double nickel anymore. What I say,
I'm a double nickel plus a penny.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
You're gonna do away with pennies?
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Oh my god, that's not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Okay, that's not gonna have We're not doing with anything,
nothing that has to do with that.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
But we're gonna come back.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
When talk about the choices you have in your life
and the people that you're putting into your life, it's
absolutely your choice. And if you ever listen to us,
you're like, you know what I want to I want
to meet these people. You know. Obviously Steph work said
your best Life MD, and I ownt trim line. This
is all about not just weight loss or not just
beautifying yourself. It's really for you to become mentally more
(11:19):
of a strong person. So you can go to mytrimline
dot com and book a free chat and get to
know us much better. We're gonna take a break and
we'll be right back now.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Back to the My trim Line Radio show with Nadia
here on NewsRadio WHB five eighty.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Hell, we'll come back and thank you so much for listening.
I have the wonderful staph hashburger here, my bestie, my
wonderful nurse practitioner.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Thank you so much for being here again.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I love it, and I.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Love how we pulled your sister into this now, right,
she thanks not? I know, yeah, I like how you
say that. You're like thanks with me stabbing.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
You at the same time.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Now we are talking about, obviously menopause, and I know
you men listening out there, like, oh, what's that about?
There's I think I did hear the terminology of menopause.
I did, like men goes through it and it's called menopause.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I'm not making it up. I swear I've heard about it,
and I think sometimes they go through it. Maybe it's
called the midlife crisis. I'm sure it could be out
of one of them, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
The new Corvette.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I mean, men do go through things, But this is
really for you to wrap your head around what women
do because sometimes I know that I have met men
in my life obviously that that they think what I'm
doing is so unique compared to other women, and or
maybe I'm just not the right one, like the right
way I'm doing it. But then over time they've realized,
(12:46):
wait a minute, You're not the only one that your
hairshd's in the shower and then you turn it into
a ball and you stick it on the wall so
you can later on throw it away, right.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Am I the only one that doesn't spare it away?
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Every time I know are in the rain, there's like
a bunny bunny exactly, You're like, let me take this.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Are just made a face and he said, what are
you talking about? You said, I'm telling you men don't
know that we women are not your women. You're your
one that when you have whether it be sisters or whatever,
it's not abnormal. We do that whole thing, you know,
because we don't want the hair to go down your drain.
You catch it, you make it into a little ball.
You stick it on the wall, so then lay it on,
(13:25):
you can take it and throw it away. Then we
clean the wall, by the way. Okay, So I mean
we do things that are normal for every woman. So
if you get to know these things better, are you're
really going to have a stronger, more understanding relationship with
your significant other or your daughter, or your sister or
your mother for that matter.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
So this is really what we're talking about. And hot
flashes and night sweats are really true, right, staff.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
So menopause isn't just about hot flashes. It's a major
life transition that affects women physically, emotionally, and mentally. So
one day you're sleeping grate and the next day you're
awake at three am wondering why you're hot, anxious, or
suddenly can't remember why you walked into the kitchen.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
It's like that's it. This is it called like a
fogginess of menopause, menopause?
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Menopause.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah, they've done that right, and that val you're the
youngest out of us three, Okay you are, so do
you do you do?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
That's that's something you still feel too?
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Like you kind of oh my, but she's been in
it the longest.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
That's true. That's true, the menopause from it.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Yeah, I'm still very foggy, very foggy. I wish I
was the inventor of posted notes. You'd be a millionaire, right,
I have posted notes everywhere. They're colored, they're covered in
my bathroom and my kitchen.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
They're just in piles. So I don't forget.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yeah that honestly, I'm forgetting a lot of things myself,
which is extremely frustrating. And then and we talked about
this that three am. It's called the witching hour. It's
something that I but every time I talk to most
women that are going that, they get up in the
middle of the night. It's like three o'clock, three three ish,
something like that.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
And sometimes you can go back to sleep, and other
times you're just lying there for two hours praying that
you fall back asleep.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
It's extremely extremely frustrating. Like when I can fall back asleep,
I really like it. But you know, whenever I think
most men and I have one of them that hits
the pillow, gone sleeps the whole night, whole night, eat them.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
I mean, we absolutely hate you guys for that, Just
so you know.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
And there's a few women that I've met, maybe I
don't know one percent that say I fall asleep that way,
and I look at him, I'm like, don't talk to me,
just walk away from me right now.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Fall asleep. I can fall asleep easy, I just can't
stay asleep.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
See it takes me twenty minutes half an hour for
me to fall asleep. I do, and then I just can't.
I wish I could. And the harder I tried, the
worst of God. So and if you know, if you're
to me, really helped for me was the extra dial
patch and the progesterone.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
I do sleep better.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
I still get up at you know, one time, and
hopefully I do fall asleep a little bit more than before.
But I think it just really it's.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
That that hour.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
I wonder if sometimes we're putting it in our head
and we're predispositioning us getting up at that time. But
I don't know that many women, like every woman says
it's around three o'clock that happens to them.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
And you think that you have been sleeping for hours, Yeah, yeah,
and it's not.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Actually I could have gone, I could go to sleep,
and I'm still getting up at three o'clock, you know,
and then the next morning we're just we're not that
we're not as you know, lively or awake as we
should be. So if you're if you're like out there
listening and you're like, you know, what should I you
definitely need to go talk to your doctor and a
lower test drastum in the Other thing is that I
(16:52):
truly believe not just for men. I think it's very
very important for men, but also for women. They should
really check that. And because there's a trust for women.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Right absolutely testosterone creams m hmm.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, but there's no because the doc was telling there's
no palets, there's no really treatment. They treated more for
you can do pellets. You can do testosterone pellets for women.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Yes, I did not know that here.
Speaker 7 (17:17):
They work very well, did I?
Speaker 6 (17:19):
So?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Yeah, okay, I had them before, did you?
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Oh my gosh, I definitely knew what a sixteen year
old was feeling like. I'm like, oh my gosh, it's
like sex on the brain.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Weirdly, yes, that much.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
It was pretty wild. That's wow. Is a little too
much work? Oh, I can't wait to get home now.
I would like to say that.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
My mom is in here, I'm so sorry, lord, but
you know, I think that's something you should anything that's
going to enhance your life. Right, So, whether it's botox,
so that's what you love to do, I love bot
She's my drug of choice.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
That's it exactly.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Or you know, for you to get your hormones checked,
I think it's extremely important go on to shr dial,
use progesterone, look into your testosterum.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Especially for men.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Right if you're finding that your weight loss is very,
very struggling, or your libida is low, your testostream is
the probably one of the most number one things that
you should be checking. And is that something that they
can do the MEDSPO.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Yes, okay, we'll do hormone levels for men and women,
for men and women. And you know, metopause looks different
for everyone. Some may experience your mild symptoms, while others
deal with significant changes like the night sweats, mood swings,
brain fog, waking, join eggs, vaginal join us uh fatigue.
(18:46):
So none of these experiences are just in your head
and you don't have to simply suffer through them. So
you get checked, go get your lab work done, and
then you can go from there and see if you
need patches, creams, whatever, there's so many things out there.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
See that's fantastic. I absolutely love that and you should
go check it. And if you're like I don't know
where to go or what to do, I mean, you know,
good in touch with Steph. She's at your best Life
MD at a camp Hill. She'll be able to really
guide you. And we talked about this like a million
times between her and I. We're such good friends because
we don't try to sell you things. Okay, We're not
(19:24):
here trying to sell you anything. We're here trying to
tell you that your path to your life is in
your hands and you should do everything that you can
to feel good, age gracefully, age healthy, and we're here
just to try to give you guidance and knowledge and
even help if you decide to reach out to us
for you to get get there that way. So that
(19:45):
is absolutely part of it. And part of the other
thing is is like going through menopause, like we all
three are right now. We if you if I take it,
we'll take a picture. I'll post it on Facebook later on.
Of us three we are I don't know, like a
little early fifties, mid fifties and mid fifties plus a penny,
which is you. Okay, I'm going to be there soon.
(20:08):
In a month and a month, I'm going to be there,
and a month and a half i'm gonna be there.
I think it's even less than a month and a half,
month and eleven days. So we all know where my
birthday is. Nobody ever forgets my birthday, but I know
for a good reason, unfortunately. But so the thing is,
we really strive to take care of ourselves. And I
think there's a huge difference between wanting to do it,
(20:31):
taking time to do it, and making sure that it
gets done right.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
So make the attempt.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
You should not be in your fifties or sixties thinking
you should be frumpy and that's how you need to
age or you know, for you not to be happy
in your own body in your mind.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
You should never feel that way.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
And I think, and I don't want to like toot
our own horns, but I will. I think we three
are honestly, we preach what we do what we preach, Okay,
so we do take care of ourselves. I mean, you
two are just two gorgeous sisters. I mean I think,
am I wrong? Am I wrong?
Speaker 6 (21:04):
Art?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
No?
Speaker 3 (21:04):
You're not wrong. Yeah, thank you, I'm not right. I'm
not wrong at all. So putting him, I know, because
he doesn't lie, he just will He'll just say nothing.
Speaker 6 (21:12):
You know.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I put him on the.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Is, he will say nothing, Okay, that's what art will
be like, all right, and I'll say something like that.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
You know, he just won't say anything at all. But
it's the truth.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
You guys almost look like twins of each other, by
the way. So but you know, I think there's a
regimen that at least we have, Like what are some
things that you guys do that makes you feel and
look good? Like, what what are things that you guys
do that does that share that share that with the
people's stuff.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
I would say healthy skincare regimen. Yes, so vitamin C
in the morning, excuse me, vitamin C for your face,
retin all at night. They're very important, and a good
moisturizer to just stay hydrated because our faces get dehydrated,
so you need some hyaluronic acid. There's so many different
(22:03):
options out there. I mean, I love the Skin Better line,
but if people can't afford that, there's other options that
they can get in the grocery store. You want to
look for something with hyaluronic acid. And then, like I said,
your morning routine should consist of a vitamin C E
and different antioxidants. And in the evening you want to
(22:23):
use a retinal because that's your fine lines and wrinkles.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Very nice, because you don't want to use retinal in
the morning because your sun exposure, right, that's been a damage.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Retinal is only at night, okay?
Speaker 3 (22:35):
And what are some things that you do?
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Val?
Speaker 2 (22:37):
I mean, because you're gorgeous, so we have to share.
You have to share your secrets with people. Oh so
you're naturally that way?
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
What's going on? Do you want us to come on?
Speaker 4 (22:46):
I woke up like this.
Speaker 7 (22:49):
I swear by the vipo. I am addicted.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
I love that po. If there's one thing that I
would do, that would be it the vipo.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
And also Bota.
Speaker 6 (23:00):
Steph got me addicted to botox, so as soon as
I get any wrinkles, I'm like, hey, hey, can you
hook me up? But also, I mean, I'm really I
think it's very important to have a lot of hydration.
I drink so much water. I try to drink a
lot of water. And also I think it's.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
Important about your teeth white and your teeth.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
I just think it just makes you look overall. I mean,
I just think you look better, healthier. You just look
like a better version of yourself when you have a
healthy smile, healthy face, healthy everything.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
So that sounds that's a great I love that. I mean,
you two have the whitest teeth that I've ever seen
on two human beings, which is absolutely amazing. I do
want to come back and talk about those vipls.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
I really do so. To me, the nutrition is a key.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Which you feed your body is very very important, and
how you treat your face and body is very very
important too. So go to my trim Line book a
free chat. I would love to talk to you about
anything and everything. We wouldn't take a break and we'll.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Be right back.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
Welcome back the my trim Line Radio Show with Nadia
here on NewsRadio WHB five eighty.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Hello and welcome back, and thank you so much for listening.
I have my wonderful friend and partner in crime, my
writer die As I say, she pretty much does anything honestly,
or she makes me do anything on top of it.
So I got Steph here. You make me spend money,
which I don't want to do. So, yeah, you did it.
You did it, already done many many times to me.
(24:26):
So Steph, please introduce yourself so everybody knows when they
want to come after all these beautiful things that we're
talking about with val. Of course, here your beautiful sister
where they can go to get all this done.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
Hi.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
I'm Stephanie Hershberger. I'm a nurse practitioner your Best Life
MD in camp Hill and we do a variety of
things such as botox fillers, lasers, IV therapy, and hormonal therapy.
So Paige in our York office, she is the menopause guru.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Nice. She does a great job. And those are like
the personal let they make right correct?
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:02):
And what is it called?
Speaker 2 (25:02):
I always forget the name of it because it doesn't
have that some some kind of name for that the
hormonal that.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
She makes it puts together for the person compound. Is
that based on your lab work?
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Nice? Yeah, so it really fits you perfectly?
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:19):
And is that that's is that different than the estradyle
in the progesterone or is that is that an addition?
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Yeah? A lot of it's bioidentical hormone. That's what I
was trying versus the estradyle patch. I mean the progesterone.
I don't think, val do you have to take progesterone.
I've never been.
Speaker 7 (25:37):
I've never been.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
You don't have a uterus, so usually you have to
take progesterone because it protects your uterus if you're taking
the estrogen. Yeah, those two progesterone helps you sleep. Oh
sings for you. Sorry, that's such a nice way for you,
because I think it does. I mean, do you agree
when you started with progester.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Oh, my goodness, was a nine day difference.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
I didn't know which one it was, and it was
an uxtra dial of the progesterone or my liposomal magnesium,
you know, because I think that really, those are the
three things I take before I mean the two things
I take before bed, and I have the patch on.
But it's a night and day difference of how my
sleep has been. And I don't sweat as much during
the night either. That's the other thing like I used to. Yeah,
(26:23):
I mean I would like wake up in a mill
of the night and I'm like sweaty, and then you know,
my side of the bed always look like you know, lord,
like like I'm five years old, a two year old.
The whole bed or something, you know, looked ridiculous. And
it's like there's like a silhouette on me, like a
dead body silhouette, Like somebody drew it on my freaking bed.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
It's like, oh, why does it look like that?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
It just looks And I'm such a clean person, okay,
and I'm like, oh, this is awful. Take rip the
sheet off, you know, try to wash it. And I'm like,
good lord, hope nobody sees this, you know, that kind
of thing. But I think the one thing that I
do and also talk about is when we do strive
to be healthier, so we have things that we can
do on the outside that you get YouTube beautifully talked
(27:09):
about with the ivy peel, which you said iv peel
on a break that we can't do that till probably winter.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
The vi I oh VI pel, I said, literally I
went to.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
It in this summer, unless you're somebody who does not
go out in the sun. But most of us love
that vitamin.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
D mm hmm. Absolutely, I know we should be on
vitamin D.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
That's one thing for sure that needs to be But
you said that like does great for two days and
the third day you're like peeling like mad.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Oh yeah, you leave the office your little jaundice. You look,
you look like Donald Trump a little bit. Not to
get political, so you're a little you know. And and
then in four hours you wash it off, and then
you'll continue the peel pads that evening and then the
next evening. So the day after the peel and two
(27:56):
days after the peel, you look amazing. Your skin is glowing.
And then day three, boom you start peeloughing off. Watch out,
watch you don't want to leave the house and scare people. Oh,
she loves a v I peel. But it's like, okay,
you can rip the skin off, but you can take
your hand and do these tiny little circles. She won't
(28:16):
touch it, so she's walking around and she has these
big chunks of skin hanging off. So you don't want
to be anywhere near her or food, because I'm sure
you have skin.
Speaker 7 (28:28):
It's incredibly attractive.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yes, I want to see a picture of that when
we post that too. Okay I can have one, probably me.
But you know, you know how tempting it is to
try to peel it off or just pick at it.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
I mean put it.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
Yeah, cut it off.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Oh my goodness, that actually like a like a like
a you know you're peeling your old skin, right, like
dead skin.
Speaker 6 (28:51):
Yes, but it can cause scarring and hyper pigmentation if
you peel it. So that's why I won't touch.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
I won't touch it. Seem you're kind that you just
won't do it.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
Doesn't touch it, believe me.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Yeah, who wants that?
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Who wants the pigmentation and hyper pegmentation? Nobody wants that,
So I won't touch I wouldn't touch it either, Honestly,
I would be the same exactly.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
And it tightens up your skin, so it's good for
brown spots for aging. It helps tighten underneath your eyes,
that little creepy skin and all the brown spots that
we have, so the solar lent to goes. It helps
with malasma.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Jeez, that sounds amazing. And you really said you only
you can do it two times a year, so it's
nothing that you have to do.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
We do it twice.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Yeah, but I'm saying it's nothing that it's going to
be so expensive that you have to get every.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Month, you know, every time your fifty dollars.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
That's amazing, that's it Yeah, to do that for six months,
I mean to have that. You guys haven amazing skin.
To have that, I think that's really wonderful. And the
other thing I do want to talk about is you know,
for us too, and you're listening out there, so you
need to make sure that you also keep yourself healthy
(29:54):
on the inside. Right, I'm a huge and now they
use two have hung out with me many, many, many times. Okay,
I'm huge about eating. Okay, I I love to eat
number one And I really believe that whatever you put
into your body really will show you on the outside.
Like you know, your your nutrition is extremely important and
you're being active. I'm not saying go to the gym
(30:17):
and pump iron or go jogging and running and do
hit classes. I'm saying even walking is extremely important. So
give yourself your body. You know, your bone structure is
really important, for your bone density, for you to be
able to be active and nourish your body. Because to me,
nutrition's everything. So if you whatever you're putting into your body, honestly,
you are what you eat. Now even though Valin I
(30:39):
have the most the worst sweet tooth, probably is yours
worse or mine? I'm just I'm trying to still figure
this out in the time that we've been together. I say,
my mom is the worst, and she weighs one hundred pounds,
I know, and she's.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
So lean and she looks great.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Genetics partially, that's got to be genetics, you know that
a little bit of that's got of genetics. So but
I mean, we do have sweet tooth, we do. But
for you to be able to you can do anything
in moderation. I mean, you guys have seen me eat
a lot, and you can still stay lean, you can
still stay healthy. And if you even are on the
weight loss shots, which you know Steph and I, you
(31:18):
and I have talked about this for a long time.
Being on the shots is extremely important that you get
your nutrition under control.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
So your protein and strength training.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Like because you do that's what you do. Also, right,
do you do do glp you.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Talk about Yeah, yeah, I do a lot of the
golp ones. So we have semi glutide and terzeppetite. But
you really need to combine that with nutrition so that
way you can maintain and keep it off instead of
going on the shots. And of course you can, like
you said, you can eat anything. You want in moderation,
(31:53):
but the shots just kill that food noise and stop
those cravings. So once you go off them, all those
cravings are going to come back, and if you haven't
changed the way you eat, it's just going to come
back on, just like any other diet that you've been
on and failed.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah, I mean the science behind it, and obviously the
report's coming out it is that way. So if you
don't change your nutrition aspects, and it's not even just
about the way coming back, which I think it's painful
for a lot of people, but I think a bigger
factor is you're not putting enough nutrients in your body.
I think that's probably one of my biggest pet peeves
when people don't eat. Yeah, like when people don't eat.
(32:32):
I'm not saying you have to eat as much as
I do because I eat like a I don't know,
like a two hundred pound man, but.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
I think you should really eat still food.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
I mean there's people that don't eat all day long,
you know, and then I just put one shake into
their body, which I'm saying that's not enough nutrients all
day long to just have one shake, right, So, but
the nutrients in your body is it's for your brain,
for the function of your brain, your liver, your kidney,
your skin, your hair.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
Your nails.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I mean, one thing I focused on in the past,
I'm gonna say four months because my hair was shedding.
We talked about what happens in the shower, but my
hair is everywhere. I swear, you know, one reason I
don't have a dog is because I shed enough for
me and a dog. Okay, it's just it's a golden
do No.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
I love dogs. I love your golden doode. Oh oh
my god, this is so freaking cute.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
But you know, I just I'm literally in the morning,
I'm brushing my teeth whatever, and I'm looking on the
on the ground and my hair is everywhere. I'm on
my I'm going I'm like, I'm bringing it in like
you know, like I'm just gonna. I literally can make
a fur baby with that, with that freaking amount of
hair that I have. And I was just, you know,
we women are really worried about that, are just losing
our hair. So I really amped up my nutrition. I
(33:42):
amped up getting more of vitamins in uh and then
that really I think changed my hair. In the last
three or four years, you know, and three or four months,
I should say.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Do you do collagen? Because I hear a lot of
great things. They have a collagen peptide. Yeah, and people
added in their coffee. Yeah, shakes and everything. But it's
really supposed to help. I need to go buy it.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Oh oh yeah, I buy it from Costco, and I'm
a Costco addict, but I buy I have like I
buy chocolate. They have a chocolate which I don't say.
I put it in my coffee. You don't drink coffee.
You two don't drink coffee. So I swear I'm gonna
put a picture because they have the whitest teeth in
the world. Because the number one they don't drink coffee.
And if they drink wine, they don't do red wine.
They do white wine because they don't want to mess
(34:26):
up their teeth. Okay, I don't like red wine. Yeah,
that's that's the other reason. So you know, before when
I used to take pictures with people add the whitest teeth.
When I stand between these two, my teeth look like
it's freaking brown, and I get away, and it's horrible.
It looks horrible between between you two. I just not
true I'm not taking pictures with you guys anymore. I'm
not liter all but not true.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
But we're gonna come back.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
I should be, I should you should be like, Yeah,
Collagen actually is a great point. I'm gonna come back
and tell you what I've done with collagen because it's
something really really delicious an amazing. If you'd like to
meet Steph, please go to your Best Life MD, or
you can go to my trimline dot com book a
free chat.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
I can tell you about her.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
We can hook you up with her, and I can
give you information about even if you're doing the shots
to put.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
The nutrition with it. Please please, please please, I'm gonna
take a break and I'll be right back.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
Let's get back to the My trim Line Radio show
with Nadia on US Radio double HP five eighty.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Hell then, welcome back, and thank you so much for listening.
And if you're just tuning in, nice, sorry, Steph is
like Steph is trying to show her muscles.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
She's going because you're buff.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Oh yes you are.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I want your arms.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
You have guns, baby, guns, baby, I work at it,
you know I do so.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
But thank you so much for tuning.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Then I have the wonderful Steph Harshburger and her sister
val which Val used to work. I used to go
to you, you know, for my teeth, but I don't
anymore unfortunately. So but please introduce yourself.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Steph, Stephanie Harshberger. I'm a nurse practitioner with your Best Life,
MD in Campell, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
In now, please introduce yourself.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
I'm Valerie Hosteller and I work for Matthias and mcgaro
and Campell. I'm a donal hygius and I love them.
That was so awesome great.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
They used to get me in and I gotta go
somewhere where they're pulling back about oh whatever, I'm gonna
talk about that anymore.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
I'm over it.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
I'm over it.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
But we were talking about collagen, right, Yeah, Collagen is
one of the greatest things for everybody, not just for
women but for men. Collagen. You can get him in powder,
but just make sure it's pure collagen. And I get
the light blue container which I can't remember the name
of it. It's really one vital that's exactly what it is. Yeah,
it's vital protein. I buy it from Costco because I'm
(36:47):
a Costco addict and sometimes I have it on sales.
I buy four at a time because I'm a job
like that. And then you know, and I put in
my coffee. We all know you get YouTube. Don't drink
coffee because you have to have your white teeth.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
But so the thing is because.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
I'll to you but it and those brown teeth, people
will like, just you know, just keep drinking our coffee
and our red wine.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Okay, So that's what's gonna open.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
But you can't get it powder into coffee in the morning,
or the chocolate that have a chocolate version. You can
put that into milk or water. Yeah, and she approachin
shake easy piece. Now the other thing that I tell
people constantly, which I think is really amazing. You can
go buy chicken bone broth. Okay, so there's beef bone broth,
(37:30):
but I'd like chicken bone broth better. But either one
chicken or beef, and costcoing on just should pay me.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Costco has the organic Kirkland brand. It's organic, not that
I care, but it's low sodium. You can get anywhere.
It's a liquid, and it's thick because it's chicken bone broth.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
So I cook with it. I saute with it. I
make stews and soups with it.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
But you know what I started doing in the past
two months that I really I think it's made a
huge difference is I have a tiny little pot and
I put the chicken bone broth in it.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
So I add a little turmeric tiny bit. Turmeric is
very very strong.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Turmeric is the best herb you can ever, ever, ever
use in your entire life. It is extremely yellow. It
does not make your teeth yellow, so don't worry about it. Okay,
So it will not unless you literally put on your teeth,
then yes, it will be little and then you should.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Never do that.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
So tiny bit into the soup crack pepper, because that's
crack pepper with What makes turmeric really enhance its benefits.
I put a little parsley, a little bit of basil,
and then I boil it. Then I put it into
a nice big cup that I have and I drink
it after dinner. Okay, And that has been a It's
a huge game changer because number one, it's great for
(38:44):
your joints. It's an anti inflammenty inflammator. I can't say it,
thank you. It helps you with that. And then also
it really helps you with your hair, skin and nails.
The other thing I've noticed is that my nails are
naturally getting longer and there can still be harder. So
and so my hair has changed, my nails has changed.
And then also I have less aches and pains into
(39:06):
my joints. So definitely have the collagen and get the
chicken bone broth or beef bone broth, depending which one
you like, with the turmeric, so turmeric, fresh crack pepper
musco in there. Okay, a little bit of fresh crack pepper,
get make into a big bowl or you can cook
with a rosaute with it. So collagen in the morning,
you can put that in the powder into your shake
(39:27):
and then I'd like to put that after dinner. But
you can really do the chicken bone broth anytime, and
you can cook with it, Okay.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
Site I will.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
I think it because it makes a huge, huge difference
on your joints, how you feel your skin, your hair,
your nails, and I think that is something along with
we talked about this. I started also taking neutrafill about
three months ago, you know, because I'm really worried about
my hair. I've like had nightmares of me having lost
(39:56):
my hair a lot and being bald, which you know,
it's just it's not a great look for women.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Hair is in the drain and when you just wash
your hair and it's all over your fingers, I can't
believe I still have hair on my head, you know, I.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Swear I say that every day, like because like I
brush my hair out. I never brush my hair because
when I brush my hair, I'm like, half my hair
is in the brush. I'm like, maybe if I want
to bush, it would still be in my hair, you know,
like it'd be connected to it. But it was just
the ones that were straggling on the floor and the thing. Anyways,
you know, So they say you should brush your hair,
but I'm like, I'm just too scared to do it.
(40:33):
So if you're listening, like whatever, this is something that
if you're like, okay, my hair, and I know you
men don't really worry about as much as we women
do because you can be bald, you can be gray
and it will still look great. Yeah, you can be wrinkled,
you can have glasses, you can have a pup belly
and nobody cares. But we women are so like, honestly,
we women are very very particular about it. And our
(40:54):
hair is very important to us. So neutral Field did
work for me, and then I all so three months
ago started Rogain. So I know, I'm like giving divulging
everything that.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
I do here.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
That's my personal business.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Huh. I bought Rogue and it's just in my cabinet.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Yeah, it doesn't.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
It doesn't work that way. Just so you know, I
tell people are like, well, I bought this and I haven't.
You know, when people buy like a bicycle or something,
you know, the like gym membership okay, or did on cultivation,
it's a donation that you're doing to it. So collagen
is wonderful to add to your daily Honestly, you could
put that into your daily routine. People get so confused
(41:35):
because there's so many different mixed messages out there. D
three with K two is really important in your collagen
that you get that in unto what is they the
D three that's your vitamin deed you talk about, Yeah,
but what but they came out with a better level
with K two D three and K two that's what
I had your parents go pick.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Up at Yes Costco.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
They listen to everything you said.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
I know, but I mean it's by sign research or
research science. I'm a little best lislexic when it comes
to that. It's a black container. It's apps D three
with K two that that I take that every single day.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
And essentially with menopause, we need bone health, we need
our D three.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Especially because you and I val have gone through menopause early.
You know, I've I mean you went early and I
went when I was forty six also so almost you know,
nine ten years ago. Even though as much as I
take care of myself and I even do weight training,
you know, my my last DEXA scan said that I
had a little bit of astapino already and that that's
(42:37):
like with all of that, So preventive is really really important,
and this is something that we three are talking to
you about right.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
Prevented is extremely important.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
One thing that when I know we have a little
bit of time left, but one thing that is really
important is for you to take care of your teeth.
I'm like joking, and the reason being I have put
researched this that a lot of bacteria, you're aging, dementia
of all of that has come from people not taking
care of their teeth. I mean, I don't know if
you've heard that or not. But they said that your
(43:08):
teeth health is extremely important for your bacteria and your
stomach because obviously you know you're chewing, you're doing whatever
with your teeth, and that's really that's like one of
the most important things because I think you do fluss.
Speaker 7 (43:23):
After every single meal, at least at least three.
Speaker 4 (43:28):
The ones you want to keep? Is that really? Genually
she says, the ones you want to keep, you know?
Speaker 2 (43:34):
She she's probably like me, like, I do a way losson.
Shouldn't I really live how I how I preach?
Speaker 3 (43:39):
I live it? And you probably do the same thing.
Speaker 7 (43:41):
Do I practice what I preach?
Speaker 6 (43:43):
I flows after every single meal and some I even
use my water flosser, my automatic toothbrush my mouth. Friends.
Speaker 7 (43:51):
Really absolutely, I have I have ever.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Floss pick she has. She always has a floss pick.
Really actually, even if you don't want one. That's so
funny because John val would always offer John a floss
pick after dinner and he would say, no, I'm good,
And he said to me, He's like, I realized, I
just take it now, and she offers, you just do it,
just take it.
Speaker 7 (44:13):
He said, I learned real quick. You don't say no
from a dental hyge genist.
Speaker 4 (44:16):
They need a peck floss peck.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
I'm going to have to start doing that because I
think that's really important. I bought the mouthwashed, the whiting mouth.
I've not used it once. It's on my counter.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Well she has no she tell her the mouthwash. There's
only certain ones.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
That you really so uh mouthrens that has whitening in.
It's not in your mouth long enough to really do anything. So,
like Steph said, do the crust white strips and also
they there's whitening trays that you can you can do too.
You can have custom whitening trays done.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
But what's a good mouthwash?
Speaker 6 (44:52):
A good mouthwash just in general? Yeah, Well, there's so
many different ones out there for so many different reasons.
There's ones for if you have dry mouth, like there's
act for dry mouth. There's also the new thorough breath
even for like if you have ginger vitis, if you
have stinky breath, yes yor stinky breath, that's a really
real thorough breath is a really nice one. It's a
(45:12):
product that I love and I really stain there are
breath They're a breath that's a very nice one. Listerine
is a great one if you have problems with your
gum health, as well as paradontacs. However, paradontacs is a
great product in itself, but it does stain your teeth,
so I'm not behind that one.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
No, no, we don't want Tony do the thins our teeth.
