Speaker 1 (00:03):
Our two Twin Cities news talk. My name is John Justice.
Glad you're with the show this morning and every day.
If you're listening on the iHeartRadio app, you can leave
us a talk back comment. Those are brought to you
by Lyndahl Realty. We have some of those. Will jump
into here in just a moment. You can email me
(00:24):
as well, Justice at iHeartRadio dot com. I also have
email that I'll be sharing coming up. You have Sam
and the Master control booth next door. Let's go here
to the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
There's two positions that a person should never aspire to.
Okay number one, Captain of the Titanic. Okay, number two,
leader of Iran's.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Very true roster. It makes a very good point. The
ietole Comane's son has been chosen as a new Supreme
leader currently now under bombing watch, would not want that.
Gig Ron Hubbard, who builds bunkers designed to help people
survive everything from drone attacks to nuclear armageddon, said he
(01:10):
has been inundated with calls since the US launched its
attack on Iran. Hubbard, who lives in Texas, told the
Telegraph that two senior Cabinet members and the Trump Administration
are among his clients. One of them texted me yesterday
asking me when will my bunker be ready. We at
(01:33):
the price that he's constructing these things from five million
to and I had to look this up five million
to twenty thousand dollars. But the way that they describe
one of these, I'd never heard this terminology before. I'll
share this with you in just a moment here on
the show. Hubbard's firm opened up new offices in Dubai
(01:53):
two days before Iran launched missiles toward the city. He
told the British newspaper that two billionaires who lived in
the United Arab Emirates city immediately reached out. I wouldn't
call it lucky, but I would call it good timing
for them. So he constructs hundreds of these bunkers a year, again,
ranging from five million underground compounds to small pre cast
(02:17):
bolt holes costing twenty thousand dollars. I had never heard
of that term before. Both holes is one word bolt
h l e s. It's a place where a person
can hide. So like my house, like like my my basement,
office bedroom is a is a bolthole. You beat me too,
(02:38):
You could hide down there, surrounded by all my Star
Wars toys, a collection with grew which grew entirely too
much over the weekend. The shelters can be equipped with
things like movie theaters, to swimming pools and a gun range.
Atlas average is about two million a month in bunker sales.
Hubbard predicts they could rise to about fifty million dollars
(03:00):
a month now. He describes himself as a devout Christian.
Told the Telegraph that he believes the end times are approaching.
He started at less than twenty eleven after his previous
iron door manufacturing business went to bust amid Chinese competition.
His business expanded during the COVID nineteen pandemic, which caused
(03:22):
a worldwide uncertainty. Hubbard told the Telegraph he's worked with
several billionaires, including medicineo Mark Zuckerberg, and said he has
met with other tech moguls. He described his bunkers as
doing nothing with my fingers, super fun. Okay, I always
say I put lipstick on a pig. He describes his
(03:42):
bunkers as medicine wrapped in a bow. I don't have
any desires, I don't covet well. If I'm in for
the right reasons. I'm doing it to save to save lives.
So there you go. If you yourself have a bunker
or a bold house, draw mea comment on the iHeartRadio app.
I would be genuinely curious about that. I got an
email that rolled in. John writes this. John, He says,
(04:11):
I'm calling Trump's hat a golf doing that thing with
my palms versus baseball. I'm calling it a golf versus
baseball hat because the guy basically lives on his golf courses.
Is that even a I mean, is that an argument
that gets used very often against Trump anymore? I know
(04:33):
it was for a while. I'm just wondering if that
was still Is that still was something that gets complained about.
He goes on to say, at the end of a round,
it's traditional for all golfers in a group to remove
their hat and acknowledge each other. All right, I was
not aware of that. Not removing a hat on a
(04:55):
golf course is not a huge social blunder. At a SARAHM.
Tony honoring fallen soldiers, the chief needs to lose that
blanking lid. What a disgrace, says John from Falcon. I
don't know, man, I say that if you're an if
you're a rabbit anti Trumper and you're complaining about his
(05:15):
time on the golf course and wearing a hat, I'm
going to imagine Trump's doing a pretty good job.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
That's all you got, Hey, John, looking forward to the
conversation with Ron Hubbard and his experience on the Happy
Days and his experience with Fonds and his interactions with
all of the game. Of course, know that's Ron Howard
I'm talking about. But that's who I think of whenever
(05:42):
I hear l Ron Hubbard. Ron Hubbard, whoever got a play?
Speaker 4 (05:48):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
You you were going to get the rim shot, but
now you're getting Yeah, you're getting. Yeah, You're you're you're
the you're the winner of that award. It's it's worthy.
Quite the adventure.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
He went on.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Just then. I was interesting, Hey, John, I don't buy
the bunker.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Value. I think it's just a waste of money. You're
better off learning how to survive out the wilderness.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
See, I'd go the bunker route before learning how to
survive in the wilderness. Personally, we should come as a
shock to absolutely nobody whatsoever. Then I would much prefer
to have a bunker then to learn how to go
and live off the live off the land. My eldest
logan completely different ballgame. He definitely would be a living
off the off the land. But I've watched the episode
(06:35):
with Michael Scott where he tried to go out and
do survivor man enough times to know that I would
probably end up like he did in that episode if
I were to attempt that, Sam, a bunker or living
off the wilderness for you, yeah, my choice, Yeah, I'd
probably go bunkers, no bunker.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Okay, by the way, did you mean to do the
pun last hour when you previewed this story, because if
you did your genius what was it you said that
for a certain I remember how you said it, but
just said business is booming.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Totally totally meant to do that, right, Was I absolutely
one hundred meant to do that? Put Oh hell yeah,
you said it so fast I can get a chance
to jump out. That was I thought. I thought about
it long and hard. I work shopped at for a
while before I started the show this morning. That was
one hundred percent intentional. That was not just not half
of stance whatsoever. Okay, good morning, John, Sam.
Speaker 7 (07:30):
I always chuckle when I hear about the doomsday preppers
and their need to build bunkers and stock up all
this food in their basements. That works great until the
bad guys show up and they kill you and take
all your stuff, And that's what will happen.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Watch the movie The Road and you'll.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
Understand why it's best to just move on to heaven
and not stick around on this planet.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
If there's an apocalypse, well, you need to have a
larger game plan. Right, it's not going to be enough
to just have the bunker, because if the idea would
be you're in the bunker, you're secured one. You know,
if the zombie apocalypse breaks out, the zombies don't know
you're down there, so you can wait it out for
a while, right, assuming the zombies die off or whatever
(08:16):
apocalyptic scenario you're looking at. But at the same time,
eventually you do need to come out. You need to
be able to prepare with whatever a post World War
two society looks like. So you better have a game plan, which,
in this case, going back to what we were talking
about a moment ago, probably a good idea to know
both have the bunker, but also the survivor wilderness skills
as well. So as always got great to hear from you.
(08:39):
All right, let's go, let's go here. Speaking of Trump
golf courses, hats and never trumpers, the IRS and the
Department of Treasury did release their series of rules regarding
eligibility and procedures for Trump accounts. Under Trump accounts, which
were part of the Big Beautiful Bill, the federal government
will mark the of US citizens by depositing one thousand
(09:03):
dollars into a deferred low Cost Index fund.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Now.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
While the accounts start at one thousand dollars, according to
the article from The Daily Wire, families and others can
contribute up to five thousand total per child, including employer contributions.
Parents have until December thirty, first of the calendar year
in which their child turned seventeen to open the initial account.
To the IRS said and the press release. For a
(09:30):
child to be eligible for the accounts, they must have
been born between two thousand and five and twenty twenty
eight to US citizen and have a valid Social Security number.
Parents can choose to receive the initial one thousand dollars
when they open the account if they choose not to
claim it. That individuals who can claim the pilot amount
are in order a legal guardian, a parent, an adult sibling,
(09:52):
and a grandparent. It is a trust fund, a piece
of the American economy for every child that they will
be able to take when they are eighteen years old,
or they can convert it into a more IRA type program.
This is according to Treasury Secretary scot Is sent back
in December. In February, percent said about two million forms
(10:13):
for three million children have been filled for the Trump accounts.
According to CNBC, they'll beginning a big jump on life.
President Donald Trump said last year of the babies benefiting
from the accounts, and it's essentially another tax break incentive.
So I'm okay with that. I'm absolutely okay with a
tax break for newborns. And we need newborns in this
(10:35):
country right now, especially new boorns that are being born
to families that support President Donald Trump. I think that's
important too. Now, I also support this as being a
tax incentive, especially when you consider the amount of money
that was wasted by the Biden administration when you go
back to the start of Trump's second term, the pushback
(10:59):
on USA I d There was a congressional hearing last
week that was going over the money that was spent
on DEI diversity programs within the Biden administration, and they
had a former assistant to President Joe Biden that was testifying,
(11:22):
So what are you gonna what you're gonna hear? Here
is this representative Brian mast talking with this former assistant
to President Joe Biden regarding maps, how they were trying
to change maps, the money that was spent on maps,
but more specifically, how they were trying to make the
(11:43):
maps more gay. Can you tell me what is queering
the map?
Speaker 8 (11:49):
So I think we were trying to make the maps
more gay.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Literally, well, how do you make a I mean, especially
for jay.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
You know, since the age of cartography, we've had pretty
good maps, but maybe they weren't gay enough.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
So I know.
Speaker 8 (12:02):
Also, I took critical theory in college. I think sometimes
people use queer as a verb. I do understand that
the maps that we were trying to make gay were
I think of Chuchia and Slovakia, So maybe those countries
asked for it.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I doubt it, but I don't know.
Speaker 9 (12:16):
We do have real things to work on in Congress,
like what's going on with the imminent threat of Iran
and It is embarrassing that we have to talk about
the fact that things like this were funded. Non binary
and trans Francophones, linguistic attitudes and ideologies towards inclusive French
in Montreal, Canada.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
These things. I'm going to give you a list. My
time is expired.
Speaker 9 (12:35):
I'm going to give you a list of these and
any of these that you can provide me the receipt
for the Facebook link to where they wanted to take
photos of how they were doing a Deia flash mob
in Kregastan, you know, whatever documentation they have of all
of these things. We would love to see that and
(12:57):
would absolutely love to know the individual's specific that we're
busy writing these grants because they have no business receiving
another paycheck from the people of the United States of America.
In that I will recognize Representative Schneider.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
In completely unrelated news to this, Disney apparently was working
on yet another updated version of Alice in Wonderland. It's
been shelved. I did get a copy of the script. However,
it's a good thing it was shelved because the famous
We're painting the roses red moment from Alice in Wonderland
(13:33):
was being turned into or making the maps more gay.
Maybe I should leave it to the listeners to make
the jokes this morning. Perhaps that's perhaps that's a good idea.
There's your podcast to two title. By the way, how
do you make a map more gay? Just gonna throw
(13:53):
that out there. Well, crash me up about that clip.
By the way, it's just how how serious the woman
that was being interview was. I think we were. I
think what we were trying to do is I think
we were trying to make the maps gay. Can you
tell me, uh, what is queering the map?
Speaker 8 (14:11):
So I think we were trying to make the maps
more gay.
Speaker 6 (14:15):
I just.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
That's not AI. That wasn't parody. It's an actual exchange
that took place. As a matter of fact, I'll share
it up on x here in just a moment if
you follow me at John Justice j Own, I'll put
an non at TC news talk as well. Coming up,
state mandated paid leave programs now cover millions of American
workers across the country, and the state of Minnesota is
(14:38):
offering tips to prevent delays so that you can take
advantage of and scam your way to more time off
through this amazing program. Plus your comments from the iHeartRadio app.
Coming up on Twinteressday's News Talk Am eleven thirty and
one oh three five FM. Worldwide on the iHeartRadio app,
(15:06):
you're listening to Twin Cities News Talk Am eleven thirty
and one three five FM. Update the app if you
haven't done so recently. You get rid of all those
pesky notifications in your app store. Also take advantage of
the preset function and make Twin Cities News Talk number
one on your presets greatly appreciated. Nearly one third of
(15:29):
the nation's private sector workers are now covered by paid
leave programs as more states require employers to provide medical
and family leave. According to new analysis released this week,
I could maybe see all of this if we could
disconnect your health insurance from your employer. Go and purchase
(15:56):
your health insurance the same way that you do your
auto insurance. You want to drive down crisis, that's how
you do it, And then you can come and talk
to me about taking money out of every single paycheck
for this paid family medical leave. When you look at
the states that are doing this, it is no surprise whatsoever. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, DC,
(16:16):
main Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island,
and Washington. Those states have pass laws requiring paid leave
for many workers. You know, you could already take time
off just we've covered this before. The programs vary in design,
but generally guarantee paychecks while workers take time off for
(16:38):
illness or to care for a child or other loved one.
They're funded through the employer and employee premium, similar to
unemployment insurance or payroll taxes that occur that cover excuse me,
a portion of the employee wages when they take leave.
We were visiting with some friends over the weekend and
(17:01):
one of the individuals, the son of one of the
individuals we were hanging out with, was mentioning, how, yeah,
you can see it right there on your paycheck. They
do not hide it like a glaring beacon to frustrate
you when you get paid the amount of money being
taken from your check every single month. And like I said,
(17:22):
for many individuals that will not go and take advantage
of this program because one they don't need to, or
two they're not going to put their employer through it.
The reports site's research showing multi state employers often respond
to local paid sick leave laws by providing a paid
sick leave to their workers, even in places without such requirements.
(17:42):
Opponents frequently cite the cost of the paid leave programs
and the burdens they place on businesses. Last month, Virginia
Republican state delegate Michael Wiebert said large corporations may be
able to afford the cost and administrative burdens, but not
smaller employers. The impact will not fall evenly, he said
ahead of a House vote last month. List none of
(18:05):
this is a surprise. It's a socialist redistribution of wealth program.
It discourages working, it supports the Marxist views of the
individuals that pedal this garbage, creates arguments to use against
the GOP, and it's decidedly anti business. Oh but don't
worry though, guys, because according to representatives here in Minnesota,
(18:31):
like Sondrifist, you know, if you're a small business owner
and you have to go and recoup the costs, you know,
the impact isn't that big of a isn't that big
of a deal.
Speaker 10 (18:42):
I also wanted to just make a comment on the
paid family medical leave. I am a small business owner
and you know, if we have to observe cost and
so far it hasn't really had an impact. But to
the extent we do, like the impact is like maybe
I can't buy more fancy shoes.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Oh see, you won't be able to buy more fancy shoes.
It's not a big deal, says Representative Sondrafised, who's an
immigration attorney just as a side note, has been a
staunch supporter of the sanctuary laws to which her business
could go and benefit from. You know, if we have
to absorb costs. As a small business owner myself, I mean,
(19:21):
maybe I won't be able to buy fancy shoes. So
what's the big deal? I just no shame whatsoever. Right,
Their sympathies are moving targets depending on how much political
capital that they can gain from their arguments. The Department
(19:43):
of Employment and Economic Development says forty five thousand applications
have been submitted since the law went into effect at
the beginning of twenty twenty six. I'll share with you
some more points as the state is now offering tips
just to make sure that as many people as possible
can go and take advantage of this program. Wherein the
state of Minnesota, already admitted within the first month that
(20:05):
fraud was showing up. Oh they've caught it, and I'm
sure they'll catch all the fraud, right, I have all
the confidence in the world. Further details on this, also,
we'll talk about the legislative session. A proposed bill would
require new drivers twenty one a nunder to take a
driver's head before getting a license. Also dfllas proposing new
(20:31):
illegal sanctuary state tax lots. To get to regarding the
legislative session. Your thoughts as well from the iHeartRadio app
and you can email me Justice at iHeartRadio dot com.
It's all coming up on twin Citay's news Talk Am
eleven thirty and one h three five FM. DFL Representative
(20:52):
sondreficed talking paid family medical leave last week during the
legislator session.
Speaker 10 (21:00):
I also wanted to just make a comment on the
paid family medical leave. I'm a small business owner, and
you know, if we have to absorb cost, and so
far it hasn't really had an impact, but to the
extent we do, Like the impact is like maybe I
can't buy more fancy shoes.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Yeah, like maybe she won't be able to like buy
my like more like fancy like shoes. I wonder she'll
still be able to afford her bob haircut and the
red streaks that she puts in unless she's doing that
on her own, and that's possible. If you haven't seen
Representative Sondra Fie, she does. She has a very distinct
(21:40):
haircut with dark hair and red streaks in it. That's right,
Let's go to your iHeartRadio app talk backs brought to
you by Lindall Rialty.
Speaker 11 (21:51):
As a small business owner, I'm not interested in buying
fancy shoes. I'm more interested in finding a temporary worker
to make sure the job still gets done. That's willing
to just leave in twelve weeks so I don't have
to pay them both family medical leaves.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development DEED overseeing
the state's new paid lead program, says it's working like
it should. Oh, I bet it is. Carol Levin reported
some problems with people, including delays and processing their applications
and other red tape. Ashley Anderson, who applied for the
(22:27):
program nine weeks ago, says she hasn't received a payment yet.
We've been going through savings and I had to apply
for the tax money early because we needed the money
to pay bills. Anderson is taking medical leave to recover
from brain surgery that she had in December. She expected
to return to work at the beginning of February, but
continues to have side effects, including swelling and vision problems.
(22:49):
Democrat Senator Alice Man, who authored the legislation, says forty
seven thousand people have applied for the program. It gives
the workers up to twenty weeks off every year for
medical and family issues. That is so much time. It's ridiculous.
(23:10):
It's so it is so decent as sent advising for
individuals who work so ripe for scam. Republicans, of course,
have criticized the new wage tax that it funds. The
premium is paid for by employers and employees, which small
businesses says a burden. GOP Representative Jeff Becker has proposed
(23:33):
allowing employers to opt in or out. Yeah, that would
be great. Senator Man, however, says, for the people who
are saying let's dismantle it, let's make sure people can
opt out. Well, if people can opt out, then there's
no program. The purpose of the program is to include everybody,
but not everybody is going to use it, so you're
(23:57):
basically admitting it's a redistribution of wealth a deed. A
Deputy Commissioner Evan Rowe also says people can apply up
to sixty days in advance and retroactively. How far back
can you go? It is really important that Minnesotas know
(24:18):
that we are being very careful stewards of this program. Okay,
I've got beachfront property in Blaine, if you believe that one.
I'm talking about action actual ocean beachfront property, not like
ten thousand lakes front beachfront property there. Ross ten thousand
(24:41):
applications have also been denied. Seventeen thousand are still pending.
What did all these individuals do before? I wonder how
did they ever get by needing to take time off
prior to paid family medical leave? Yeah, the same way
that they oh did through what the employer offered already.
Speaker 12 (25:07):
I wonder if Centrifie cares that one of my patients, uh,
her caregiver, who she's supposed to have five days a week,
is out on paid family leave, so she doesn't have
anyone there daily to help her prepare meals, wash up
things like that, and she can't the company can't hire
anymore because DHS is still on a hiring freeze because
(25:28):
of all the fraud in the caregiver program. So wonder
if that bothers sandrifice at all.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Of course not, of course not. They don't care what
happens to the businesses. That's intentional. It is decidedly anti business.
I get what you're saying. That's obviously not a pushback
on on you. No, you're absolutely right. I wonder if
they do care. No, of course they don't care. They'll
just say, well, you know what, it's just part. It's
just part of what comes with the program. It's surprise
(25:54):
that we must pay to make sure that people have
the opportunity to take this extended time off and to
make sure that they always vote for Democrats when the
time comes. I have no idea what.
Speaker 13 (26:09):
That Red Streak representative does for a small business or
what she owns, but I would bet a lot of
money that it has something to do with the government
at some level.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Just my two cents.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Well, I do know she's an immigration attorney. I don't
know if for small businesses that's what she's referring to,
but she is an immigration attorney.
Speaker 14 (26:33):
What happens when the person that you hire to replace
the person paid to family medical lead also get accepted
to go on paid family medical lead. Now you hire
to hire a third person.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Yep. And what happens when.
Speaker 14 (26:48):
They go on paid family medical Lead?
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Yeah, nope, that's exactly what has to happen. They have
to continue to find individuals to go and cover for
the people that they now have have to go and
help pay for their time off along with the employees
paying into it. And I understand the argument. I mean,
I've heard from friends of the show who have said,
you know what, I've got to take this time off
(27:13):
coming up, and I'm going to take advantage of this program.
And of course you are. Why wouldn't you You're paying
into it. But for a party that always wants to
talk about the chilling effect that the world has on
individuals driven so much by emotions and feelings, of course
(27:34):
they completely ignore what happens to the individual who basically
has to watch their money go up and smoke that
they earned make less year over year if they haven't
received a raise, because they're not going to be able
to go and utilize this program. No, there is no
(27:56):
accounting for those individuals because those on the left don't
care because they that those people are not going to
be going and voting for them anyhow, so it doesn't matter.
Morning John is Stephen Pridley. Hey, what if you're the
fancy shoe salesman. You just took money out of my pocket?
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Now how do I pay my employees?
Speaker 1 (28:16):
That's a very good point, Steve. Thank you so much
for the talkback this morning on the iHeartRadio app. You
talk Back of the day, by the way, coming up
at a thirty this morning, brought to you by Mini
Leaf and minileaf dot com. Good morning, John.
Speaker 15 (28:29):
I thought I read an article who all ago that
said a lot of the Miniapolish Police Department are the
police officers we're trying to take a family medical leave
right away?
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yep, I read that too.
Speaker 15 (28:42):
It seems like if that's true, they don't really want
to work for the current administration in Mineapolis.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
That a great morning. Nope, And why would they. I
don't begrudge anybody that's going to go and take advantage
of this program. You're paying into it. I get it,
but it doesn't make the program right. The Democrats found
a way to go and redistribute the wealth to push
(29:09):
forward to their ideologies and beliefs to create arguments against
Republicans and adopted this in as many states as they
as they can. But just wait, wait until the timeline
is long enough where we can go back and look
at this program, and you will see the amount of
fraud that is going to occur in this program. It's
(29:30):
it's already happening. In the meantime, you're just going to
end up making less money. All right, we'll get back
to more of your talkbacks here in just a moment.
I do want to get into the legislative session. A
proposed bill would require new drivers twenty one under to
take drivers out before getting a license. But before we
go there, let's talk about this. From the Minnesota Start Tribune,
(29:52):
the Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services is borrowing a page
from the Minnesota Department of Transportation playbook. They are holding
a contest asking callers to pick the music they want
to hear when placed on hold. So it's funny. In
(30:14):
the story from the Minnesota Star Tribune, the photograph that
they use to promote the story, it cracked me up.
It shows a doorway into Unados, which is this radical
left wing activist pro illegal Immigration organization, and on the
door is a poster for driver's licenses for all. I
(30:39):
have a lot of questions about this, most specifically, how
many times are you going to end up calling the number?
That would necessitate you're chiming in on what the hold
music is going to be through the end of March,

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Okay, OKAY i got. Youa so the choices are a
jazzy version of doing that thing with my, fingers my
time To. FLY i do not know That i'm not
unfamiliar with that. Song two pop a melodies this and
that Is life And Throw yourself in front Of, it
and a rock tune Called everywhere The Sun. Shines the
(31:43):
Dvspokesperson Mark carstent, said majority rules the winning song is
the song that will play when you're on when you're on.
Hold SO i want to play for you what Say
i'm recorded here in just a, MOMENT i will tell
you just the story makes me laugh because WHEN i
(32:04):
was going through my last major medical situation back in
twenty twenty, two, RIGHT i had to call the doctor's
office like a. TON i mean just the. Process it's
months months of having to make different phone calls setting
up all kinds of different. Appointments SO i was on
a hold a ton calling the doctor's, office and it
was the same hold music every single. Time WHENEVER i
(32:26):
hear that whole. Music Now i'm completely.
Speaker 6 (32:28):
Triggered, well there is one of the four options THAT
i did, recognize SO i hope it's not the same.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
One, okay all, right BECAUSE i haven't listened to the
whole thing, Yet so, okay so let's go ahead and.
Share so you went and called four six nine three
ninety seven three seven three. SEVEN i, did and this
is what this is what. Happened thanks for helping MAN
i select the new music For Automated. Victim there's four piece.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
You can listen to eat by pressing options one through
core by us it in your telephone. Tepad you can
thank for music at any. Time once you have, rippon
you can vote at drive DOT mn dot got when
you are ready to, start make your first.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Selection all, right this was Option this is option? One,
okay all, right down WHICH i would.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
He, now.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Little red wine, folks enjoy your. Dinner this is option.
Too this is the One i've heard. Before this sounds
like a wrong Com, Yeah Channing tatum And Emma stone
love spelled? Backwards is?
Speaker 7 (33:39):
Love?
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Okay since number three.
Speaker 14 (33:45):
Guys are just?
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Boring all? Right that's a playton ripoff off of The,
Yeah Peter bjorn And john that's a blatant ripoff that.
(34:07):
Shit that's copyright. Infringement all. RIGHT i would have gone
with that one if it wasn't a. RIPOFF i don't
Think i'm gonna go with option one.
Speaker 6 (34:16):
Just because of how ridiculous it. Is mine was optioned
for because of how.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Just, yeah, yeah that was a complete that was a.
Total that was a total. Ripoff but how many times
are you gonna call to where this is even going to?
Matter and how much money do we spend on? This
that's the question THAT i want to. Know the contest
is part of a BIGGER dvs project to upgrade its
phone system to make it easier and, pleasanter that's the word,
(34:44):
thing is that an? Actual it's in the story pleasant.
Pleasanter i'm assuming their editor approved. It, yeah these, days,
man you just don't. Know this could have been written
by NO. A i wouldn't have written that. Pleasanter okay
to contact the agency that handles all things related to motor.
VEHICLES dvs now has twenty one different phone numbers for
customers to, call depending on their. Knees, now callers can
(35:07):
opt for an automated system to still get, answers or
they may speak to with one of thirty nine full
time or two part time. Operators last, year they answered
more than one point two million, calls are about one
hundred and twenty three calls per operator each. Day there
was a lot of you, know illegals in the state
needing to get driver's. Licenses, apparently for those who don't
(35:28):
want to, wait there will be a more significant change
coming when the new phone system. Begins according to the,
dvspokesperson instead of waiting five to fifty, minutes they can
ask for the system to call them. Back that's been around?
Forever how is that out already a part of? This
almost every single different phone service that you use for any,
(35:52):
number automobile, services, doctors, visits they all have that option
now when we're just now getting caught up to speed on.
This that being, Said i'm kind of surprised if we're
not already or we're not still ON aol dial up
for crying out. Loud so all, right let's let's go.
Speaker 16 (36:11):
Here hey for that's waiting music recall as many times
AS i possibly can and see IF i can vote
and spam vote for Depeche mode.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Sick, yeah but if they did Depeche, mode they would
do like just can't get enough or something they wouldn't.
Do they wouldn't do a good Depeche mode song if
that was the. Case.
Speaker 12 (36:36):
Gone that's second, too and sounded like the beginning on
the sweet Song.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Hey on the on that.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Recording i'm just really surprised that they only announced In.
English where was press two For spanish or took a
point any other. Language it's kind of, uh but it's
kind of a little white supremacy there on this saw.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Offices oh my guess is they probably had a separate.
Number my guess is they have an entirely different number
for those that are Non english language speakers on. That, so,
see everything's fine in the state Of. Minnesota things can't
be bad if we have fun little choose your hold
music to go and take part. In, right? Okay speaking
(37:24):
a driver's license is a new bill could Require minnesota's
under twenty one to complete driver's education before they can
obtain a. License and my bad on. THIS i thought
that was already the. Case state law mandates thirty hours
of driver's education for those seventeen and, under but a
new proposal by the State Representative Andrew myers would require
(37:45):
every new driver to take driver's education before getting behind the. Wheel,
yeah stats seem to back the. Proposal statistics show that
drivers aged eighteen to twenty who skip drivers are seventy
five percent more likely to get a ticket twenty four
percent more likely to be involved in a. Crash so
(38:09):
they talked with The minneapolis resident in This i'm gonna
poke phone on him solved remove the last. Name first
name Is, isaac Though isaac expressed uncertainty about the bill's,
effectiveness SAYING i don't know IF i would say it's
a bad, idea BUT i don't know if it's necessarily
going to solve, anything Said. Isaac he suggested updating road
(38:31):
designs in higher traffic areas might do a better job
of keeping drivers. Safe fix some of the off and
on ramps in the. City they're not big enough for
people to merge on and. Off at the same, Time
i'm gonna guess that this dude's a progressive anybody who
wants to change the roads over giving drivers a better.
(38:53):
Education you, know if we just widened the lanes, more
gave there's more room for people to, drive we wouldn't
have to have people that are well trained to go
and drive on the drive on the. ROADWAYS i will say.
Speaker 6 (39:08):
SO i didn't get my driver's license UNTIL i was,
nineteen and this was back in do the math here
two thousand and. SEVEN i did not have to do
drivers at at. ALL i just did the written. Test
AND i think it was BECAUSE i was over. Eighteen
that's just pure, speculation BUT i DON'T i didn't never
do driver's ed WHEN i got my.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
PERMIT i can't. Remember. NOW i Know malinda's listening and
she'll tell. Me I'm i'm ninety nine percent Sure kyle
took driver's. Aad was he over eighteen when he guys?
Speaker 7 (39:38):
License?
Speaker 6 (39:39):
No, Yeah SO i think the distinction here is that
if you're eighteen to twenty or twenty, one then you're
required to DRIVER'S, Ed WHEREAS i REMEMBER i did not
have to do DRIVER'S ed to get my.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
PERMIT i was nineteen at the. Time, yeah everybody should
have to take driver's At i'm. Sticking i'm. Sticking i'man
curious if somebody has a difference of opinion on that than,
Me But i'm, very very much of the opinion that
everybody should have to go and take drivers at. All,
right we'll get to some of your comments. Here kind
of all over the, map we've been running through various.
Topics getting back to the hold, music let's go. Here good, morning.
(40:12):
GENTLEMEN a little late to the.
Speaker 16 (40:14):
Party but, Uh i'm surprised that hold music they didn't.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Have never going to give you. Up, yeah but that's
become such a meme now that if you actually started
playing that as a hold, MUSIC i think there'd be
a lot of people that would be, confused like DID
i call the wrong?
Speaker 6 (40:31):
Number, well would make that great as if they accidentally
dropped calls all the time with that, music.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Because you're never going to give you give you? Up
is that what you're?
Speaker 7 (40:40):
Going?
Speaker 1 (40:40):
There you got there Is, OKAY i. Gotcha that's. Good
that's good. Again maybe we should leave the jokes to
the listeners this, morning you. Know and you're fascinating to
me as.
Speaker 16 (40:48):
Well.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Man that's not just on, you that's also on. Me
So i'm just saying two things for, You.
Speaker 17 (40:54):
John on the driver's license IS i you do not
have to take, drivers but you do have to pass the, test.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Okay AND i very distinctly.
Speaker 17 (41:03):
Recall WHEN i had to go get My minnesota license
renewed years, ago oh a half dozen or So somali
ladies sitting around the same computer taking the test together
and knowing at THE dmv tear not a word Of
english spoken between any of, them but they passed and
got a.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
License, okay that makes. Sense, Okay and SO i, yea
my wife did. Response, okay he did take drivers at
in summer. School all. Right well that's that's good. News all.
Speaker 18 (41:30):
Right how about, This if you guys don't have to
take the driver's education, course you have to have a
minimum two hundred percent increase on your insurance. Premiums, ALSO
i think you guys need to have a test every
five years to prove that you know what the hell you're.
Doing that also needs to go with the elderly people as,
(41:51):
well and maybe some other folks that are on the.
Road have a good, day.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Guys, Okay SO i don't, Know so let me take
this point by Point on the insurance. THING i, know
insurance already charges an arminal leg if you're a first time.
Driver increasing that would certainly incentivize parents to make sure
that their children go and take drivers drivers D i
don't know IF i agree on every five. YEARS i
(42:15):
do absolutely agree where if you reach a certain age
you need to retake the test. AGAIN i think that's
a that's a that's a. GIVEN i know why we.
Don't i'm sure that there would be an onslaught of
complaints about how it's unnecessary we've never done this. Before but,
No i've always always contended that when you reach, IT
(42:35):
i don't know what the age would, be but when
you reach a certain age, yet you should have to
go and take your driver's your driver's license, again and
and maybe some standards set with, that you, know depending
on what the results are maybe not take the license away,
altogether but maybe just say you can only drive during
the daytime or something to. This to this, effect let's go.
Here good, Morning Jonah Sam matt From Apple.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
Davy i'm dating, myself but back in the, seventies it
was a class you took in high school DRIVERS.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Ad you got to drive in a, simulator all that fun.
Stuff so that might not be a bad idea they
have all these other, classes might not drivers add in.
Schools have a good, day. Gentlemen, yeah you have a
good day, too and thanks for the, Talkback. Matt we'll
get to more of your comments coming up in just a.
Moment we'll continue with what's going on in the legislative.
Session got a number of items to run. Through speaking
(43:23):
of young drivers and students stay lawmakers propose a cooling
off period FOR k through three students with disciplinary. Problems
we've talked about this before on the. SHOW i was
blown away WHEN i found this out that in our local,
schools if you have a child that is disrupting the,
(43:44):
classroom that in most cases they remove the entirety of
the classroom to deal with the problem, child rather than
just removing the problem. Child, yeah that needs to. Change
this would be a step in doing just. That dfllers
propose illegal new sanctuary state. TAX i will bring you
(44:04):
the details courtesy Of John feelin From center of The American,
experiment and we'll also get to more of your talkbacks
and our Three those are brought to you By Lyndahl
realty from The iHeartRadio App coming up right here On
Twin Cities News TALK am eleven thirty and one oh
