it got away completely and utterly, and it did turn

the Timberwolves did not do last night. See if you

to the list. The Timberwolves, more than anything else, did
not further the San Antonio Spurs Davy self doubt. They

I think the Wolves are going to lose to the

The Spurs had to come out of that game feeling
completely refreshed and confident once again that they've got their
mojo back, and yeah, there's no reason that we can't
play with these guys, even if they've been to the

conference finals two straight years, and even if Kendrick Perkins
after a Game one said I no longer believe in
the Spurs to win the NBA title or even this series.
I now believe in the Minnesota Timberwolves. Losing the way
the Wolves did was about more to me than a
single loss from a Spurs standpoint, that it's more now

like their confidence is buoyed. They won in a way
that went well beyond just to me, what what their
feeling have been in a close game. Let's say it
goes down to the wire and the Wolves lose by five,
I think you can.

Say, huh, we are still a little bit worried.

We split the two games in San Antonio, Davy, we're
going out of Minnesota, and they gave us everything we
can handle in both games, even though in the end
we won game two. I'm not saying that makes the
series impossible to win. I do think when you put

despite its sixty two regular season wins, despite its talent,

an opportunity lost by your Wolves club.

one player now deemed by all the Jackals as irreplaceable,
the Edwards Jade McDaniels, could not stay out of foul
trouble again. He ends up playing only twenty minutes and
by the way, had respectable scoring numbers in those twenty minutes.

Looked probably was the only timberfi I thought who looked
like he was getting to the spots he wanted to
get to to score, right, But he gets in foul trouble.
We all know what that does to the defense, especially
on the perimeter. He's guarding Fox some of the time.
Fox went off. I will say this, I don't know
if it was the second filer of the third one.
I thought it was a terrible call. And I don't

remember who the perimeter player was for san Antonio Davey

but bottom line is we did not stay out of

foul trouble or he didn't. We did not cherish possessions.
We finished the game with twenty two turnovers. I don't
know how many they had, but I don't know. I
don't think it was as many as that. And because
of all those things, and of course we did not
refuse to get punked. That's the way that the head coach,

Finchy put it. He's right on the money, speaking it
plainly and clearly the way it needs to be said.
You didn't hear a lot from Finchy about well, we
came to San Antonio and we got we got our victory.

at all. The only good thing out of last night

In fact, to the credit of the Spurs, what did
they do. They did not rest on their first half, Laurels.
They took the game over in the second quarter, but
they came out in the third and they did boot
on the throat stuff and immediately turned a semi route

into an utter and complete laugher, which is to their credit.
And if you needed to get some sleep then you could,
I think in good conscience, say teeth in the glass.

But in Game one, I certainly felt like I think

I'm trying to say, rather than him just being on
the perimeter saying Okay, I'm I'm taller than anybody, nobody's
gonna be able to lock my shot. I'm just gonna
take some threes. And it didn't look like the Wolves
were very effective about in you know, compensating there or
adjusting to that too. So how about the clean Now
we didn't hear We didn't hear this from Finchy.

Anybody else offer the other cliche after you get blown
out in the playoffs, because I think I heard this

such a thing as a victory feeling like more than
one victory if it erases some possible doubt in the
other team that's supposed to win the series, has been

anointed already but doesn't have any real playoff success and
did lose its opener on its home floor, that they
come out of that game saying, well, we can do
all of it.

Now again, you got to stop them from doing If
not all four, ABC and D, maybe you stop him
from doing two of them, and you can counter the
thing and put it right back in our direction. Because

think an attempt to say it's not the end of
the world to lose the way the Wolves did. No,
but I would say when you compound who you're playing,
and that they may have had some doubts a little
bit after the first game, even though they're not going
to voice that, that a lot of their confidence I'm
sure had to be restored. You you probably took away

a lot of the self doubt that they might have
had internally if they weren't going to talk about it publicly. Hockey, Well,

the Spurs to win the NBA title or even this series.
I now believe in the Minnesota Timberwolves. Losing the way
the Wolves did was about more to me than a

like their confidence is buoyed. They won in a way
that went well beyond just to me, what what their
feeling have been in a close game. Let's say it
goes down to the wire and the Wolves lose by five,
