Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio, your weekly
source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
What's up and welcome back another offseason edition of Fantasy
Football Weekly here on iHeartRadio with your host John Legeiza
and my good friend and compadre, mister Jake Trowbridge Lee April.
Jake means the draft is in the books. We already
went over. Those are the most popular names. I think
lots of people, even casuals, are keyed in. Not everyone

(00:34):
tuned into the rest of the draft will be covering
all that today.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
How are you doing, my friend?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I'm better now that we're post draft. It did feel
a little bit more like a slog this time once
we got especially in Day three. I'm a draft guy.
I like to watch the draft, but at a certain
point you have to admit that it's like a sickness
to sit there and watch the fourth string tight end
go off the board in the sixth round that probably

(00:59):
wouldn't have been drafted, you know, last year. So I
shouldn't complain though. It's entertainment still, John, and we should
just be grateful that we're getting any sort of entertainment
at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, football like pizza. It's all good, even the worst ones.
I'll pretty much be celebrating. At some point, you mentioned
it it being a slog. Listen, it's kind of true,
especially in fantasy circles. We were mentioning off air briefly,
you're more in tune to this than I am, So
I was more asking, is this draft really as like,

(01:33):
I don't want to say fantasy irrelevant.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
You're gonna have a few.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Needle movers, but where normally I feel like I'm ready
to digest a dozen memes, maybe up to two dozen memes,
really doesn't feel like that. It almost it feels like
maybe the least impactful rookie incoming class as far as fantasy,
Although I guess we're gonna parse that out. How do
you feel, just on the kind of macro level, would

(01:57):
you agree with that?

Speaker 1 (01:58):
I mean, yeah, I think that's probably true. I would
look at this as the most important draft class to
really know your stuff about. There's going to be some
gems that you can on earth, but it is going
to take more than casual eyesight. I think most years
we have a group of guys. If you're in a
four round rookie draft, like Okay, I kind of.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I get this.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Even in the early fourth round, You're like, oh, okay,
I can see some appeal here. You're really going to
have to put some of these guys under a microscope
to get that edge.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I think, Yeah, these later round picks, especially not necessarily
like the second round is late, but the non first
round picks, that's where I kind of swoop in, And
I think I'm actually pretty good at assessing the situation
even without knowing a ton about the players, because for me,
it's more situational and very price dependent, because it's fantasy

(02:48):
driven for me. So I've got a couple of topics
that you brought up that I really like. We've got
the biggest draft winners, both incoming rookie and like veteran
right that secondary winner, the sneaky good landing spot, most
likely to be overdrafted pick that annoyed me the most.
I'm really looking forward to diving into this. Right at
the top. Biggest draft winner as far as rookies. I've

(03:10):
got one early one lad with the honorable mention, So
I'm gonna table those because I don't want to run
on too long. My early one is Jordan Tyson, wide
receiver out of New Orleans. So right off the bat,
I'm thinking fantasy, meaning I'm expecting production right away. I
think it's a viable and functional ecosystem. I think they
believe at least they have their answer quarterback. I was

(03:32):
into Tyler Shuck last year. The EPA per dropback stuff
is very strong. I think growth through repetitions he could
be good. So there's like a good system there. I
like the indoor track as the weather gets colder. I'm
not crazy about the defense, and I'm not crazy at
the running game, and they have olave to kind of
eat up a lot of attention and even some targets.

(03:53):
So I'm checking a lot of boxes here. For Tyson,
he's going off the board ADP sixty four. You're not
even really paying a pre so I can tell you
right off the bat he's probably going to be on
a lot of my rosters.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Would you agree with the Tyson pick? Here?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I get the Tyson pick. I think the one thing
that still holding me back is just it's the injury stuff.
That's all it is. And he can't feel anything about that.
You know, he is going to a place that they're
playing on turf. I don't necessarily love that for most
of his home games when a guy has that injury history.
So in redraft, I'm a little less inclined to take Tyson.
I just happen to prefer makayle Lemon. He's kind of

(04:28):
my guy out of that top three. But in Dynasty,
it really is a great situation for him, So I'm
here for that.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
So just to flip it back on you, was that
your early winner, because we really want.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
To hear yours as well.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I'd like that you don't think Tyson is a loss.
I'm okay baking that into the ADP. If he starts
climbing into the forties, I'm going to retreat on the pick.
But where he's going right now, I really like the situation.
Who's your big winner as far as rookies go.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I mean big if we are going to go like
first round, I do think it's ky Levin. I like
that the Eagles picked up the phone with their nemesis,
the Cowboys to make sure that they got them. That
speaks to me about what their new offense is gonna
look like. But one that's a little bit more under
the radar, not super late, but a guy that I
really like coming out of this draft is going to

(05:17):
the Dolphins. It's Chris Bell. So the Dolphins were one
of these great landing spots in terms of there's no
one there. You look around and there's just no good
wide receivers for Malik Willis to go to. I'd kind
of thought maybe one of those top three guys or
even a Casey Conception Owne would end up there, and
none of them did. I'd heard rumblings that Chris Bell

(05:38):
was maybe even in line for first round draft capital,
but he got injuries. He got injured late in the
season last year and that kind of got in the way.
If that's true, this might be one of the better
long term fits. I don't know what we're gonna get
out him this year because of the injury John, but
I do like it for long term in terms of
if you're going further down the list, how far did

(05:58):
you go to find another draft winner?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Okay, so let me just mention Chris Bell love that
pick all the potential with Again, with rookies, we want
to think down range. Right now, it is best ball season,
so I'm already thinking who could be part of that
late or last round stable Chris Bell pick two O four.
You know, I like that I had went all the

(06:22):
way back to ADP one ninety two. My late winner
is possibly Antonio Williams wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
He went to Washington.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Now this sounds a lot like the first argument that
I need for Tyson. I think the ecosystem is in place.
I think we have a very good, strong, young quarterback
that is not only a hard worker but known to
lead in Jadeen Daniels.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
So I love the environment like I.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Love the idea of introducing young people into a youth
driven environment. A little different behind Daniels.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
And let's say.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Somebody like Aaron Rodgers, who granted has forgot more about
football than I'll ever know. But there is such a
thing as the agent curve, in kind of being disconnected
at a certain point. So I really like the spot.
And then again McLaurin is there and Daniel's I think
after the injury, people may have forgotten just how awesome
he is. So forget another functional piece in that offense. Right,

(07:18):
we saw Deebo really look nice in that mid to
intermediate range, and I think Williams maybe could step into
a nice volume role. Then I had Emmitt Johnson also
for KC just because he had like almost three hundred
touches and if something would have happened to walk the
back end of the season with Mahomes back, we know
what being you know, like Kansas City lead back? Is

(07:40):
anyone else that you have as a big winner before
we move on?

Speaker 1 (07:43):
No big winners. I do think it's funny for the
Commanders they continue to draft every year another one of
these wide receivers around round three, round four, and you
just have to hope that eventually they spam it enough
that it works out. We want Antonio Williams to not
be Luke McCaffrey. I guess is what I'm It's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
We definitely, whatever the how many negatives it is to
not want that, we definitely do not not want that.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
No, but I mean late round if you're looking for
rookies that can pay off this year, you just look
at baron backfields and see which you know, day three
guys landed there with the Commanders that we're talking about.
K Tron Allen's there. He doesn't have a big pass
catching profile, but there's not a lot of competition. It's
j Cory Krossky Merritt, it's Rashad White and it's him.
Then there's Nicholas Singleton who went to the Tennessee Titans.

(08:32):
I was kind of thinking Jeremiah Love was going to.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Go to the Titans.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
They waited a long time to draft another running back,
so he's got an opportunity there.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
K Tron was actually my very last name on the list. Again,
just attacking situation, and I think that is where people
like myself, who doesn't have all that granular in depth
knowledge on the players comes in handy. I understand where
there might be weakness, and I understand where could be
value and opportunity. I guess Merrit is still like draftable

(09:08):
because if we think he's going to lead in touches
on a team that I just explained, I think could
be explosive at least somewhat, he's going off the board
at ADP one ten. That's gotta be the latest projected starter, right.
I'm kind of doing air quotes for audio people, so yeah,
give me this situation, man, that that was really good.
I'm this is gonna work out really well for people

(09:30):
that are not that vers I could tell already. So
next up are the biggest winners that were undrafted, right.
I don't know how we'd frame this. Probably the biggest
undrafted winners you put veteran except mine. I was like, oh, Jake,
what else? That's pretty clever, except my big winner is
Baseie Tutan. I don't know if you'd consider him a
veteran Jacksonville. Jacksonville didn't add right, So it's base Chris

(09:52):
Chris Rodriguez, who I think is a great compliment. If
you love your RB one, He's gonna get a lot
of tough He's gonna convert a lot of the ugly
empty calorie downs. Sounds like you're into it. We've talked
about Touton. I'm starting to get really high at him.
ADP fifty seven feels like he could play his way
into that top thirty six.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Overall, top twenty four overall.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
I mean, we have seen him just completely carve up
teams on a per drive basis. So talk to me
up Tuton, what you think about Jacksonville and maybe if
I miss anything or if you want to add anyone.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Well, there's there's two paths that I could see this
playing out with Basil Tuton, and one of them's great,
which is they didn't draft anybody because they're ready to
give Bachel Tuton as much workload as we want him
to get. The other path is they already signed Chris
Rodriguez Junior, and they want him to be the guy
that actually gets all these touches. So I could hear

(10:45):
the argument if you said that Chris Rodriguez is the
biggest winner out of this me. I still like the
explosives that Bachel Tuton gives, so I'm gonna hope and
pray that he is actually the one who is getting
let's say, sixty to sixty five percent of the timeshare
in Jacksonville. A couple of other guys that I added,
it's funny that you said they're not really veterans because

(11:06):
they've only been in the league for a year. Four names,
all four names, have only been in the league for
one year, so these are soft more ascensions, I would say.
Woody Marks also came out looking pretty good running back
for the Texans. That I was hoping he got a
lot of workload last year. He didn't really deserve it.
If I'm being honest, He's not a big workhorse back.

(11:27):
He should just be catching passes as a third down guy.
I think he's secure now because the Texans did not
add anybody that's going to cut into that. Another couple
of guys. Two wide receivers that I think we should
be very interested in, Matthew Golden, who is on a
very thinning or thinned wide receiver depth chart for the Packers,
and Tory Horton Junior for the Seahawks, who they need

(11:50):
somebody besides JSN. It can't all be him and a
little bit of Cooper Cup. So Tory Horton Junior looked
great in the opportunities he got last year before he
got injured, and so now I just have to hope
that he can recapture some of that magic because there's
nobody outside of like A I think they added somebody
in round seven. There's not much competition there.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Man.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
That's a really great compliment of names right there. Horton
is another one of those late or last round picks
when if you're doing these early drafts and best Ball
even starting to shape into dynasty and stuff, these are
the type of players coming off of injury that maybe
are being discounted a little much. You highlight are a

(12:32):
lot of really good opportunities. One that I had. My
kind of honorable mention was actually Cuba Hubbard in Carolina. Right,
Rico Dowdell is gone. They keep telling us about Jonathan Brooks.
At some point I have to see it first. If
you know, from what I understand, he's gonna be pretty
good eventually.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
But he's at pick one, p. Thirty three.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
This is on par with other players that we've mentioned.
I mean, it's coming next to Chris Rodriguez. I'd much
rather have Chris Rodriguez, who you are, right. I don't
think he's gonna be a feature back. I think the
worry for Tutin is if Rodriguez eats up all of
the high value work at the goal line, Tuton is
shown he can get those tough yards also, so that

(13:17):
you have to be seen again. I love Tuton because
I think he's gonna get all of that pass game work.
Woody Marks, that's a great call. I didn't really realize Houston.
I think I heard Houston run game and I immediately
had like a visceral reaction. You know, I didn't want anything.
I didn't want anything to do with that. But they're
gonna rebuild the line, right, They're at tempting so we'll
see I realize, especially like the Horton pick. So now

(13:38):
we're gonna move on to the sneaky good landing spot.
One name came up off air that I know we
had where Simpatica on, but I didn't know where it
would lie.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
He didn't come up already, So I have a feeling
it's here.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
I wonder if your sneaky good landing spot is mine,
which is Judarian Price running back from Notre Dame going
to the Seahawks. If he's even half of the legend
and could have been, you know, a lead back pretty
much anywhere we went, and sometimes you're just a victim
to the circumstance behind a guy who went all the

(14:10):
way up at the top going to a team that
is a winning team that is predicated on running the defense. Yes,
I know they have not shown they're gonna give somebody
thirty touches a game. I think that's fine. If he's
gonna be introduced as a rookie into this offense that's
gonna run, is creative in that run game. And there's

(14:32):
injuries with Sharboney, We've seen when one back does go
down in Seattle, the other one can be not like
an ARB one Jake, but like the RB one. So
I'm really excited about Price. He's an ADP sixty three
feels like a really good dead zone running back, right
if you didn't pay up for premium backs. This feels
like a guy who's gonna at least get something right

(14:54):
off the bat, with the opportunity to really eat. So
tell me if you agree with Price, and then if
you have an em that might be a different.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
I agree with you so much that I wrote his
name in big bold letters for this category. It's so much,
even more beyond, we hope that he gets a big
workload in Seattle. We saw this guy in college not
get a big workload because he was sharing time with
Jeremiah Love. Obviously, Jeremiah Love the number three overall pick

(15:21):
in the NFL draft, He's gonna take most of the touches.
But Jaendarian Price was incredibly efficient with the touches that
he did get. So we get two things John out
of this pick to Seattle. One, we get to start
this season with the chance to see if he can
handle a big workload. Because Zach Sharbonney is not gonna
be back right away. Maybe they give Emmanuel Sanders. Excuse me,

(15:44):
Emmanuel Wilson a bunch of touches. I don't know that
that's true. But if they don't, if they don't split
time right away, we'll get to answer that question of
whether he can be a workhorse really early, which is great.
But even if he does split time, he's the best
suited running back out of this class to do that
and still give you something for fantasy, Like if Jonah

(16:05):
Coleman ended up with the Seahawks, I'm not gonna be
that excited, but Jadarien Price I am because I think,
no matter what, we're gonna get some juice out of
that squeeze for the pick.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
So I love that.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I did want to throw one other name in John
just as kind of a round almost dart throw sneaky
good landing spot. Brennan Thompson. This wide receiver goes to
the Chargers. He led the SEC in receiving yards last year,
but now he's getting matched up with Justin Herbert and
Mike McDaniel. I don't know if you saw the clip
posted on socials where in the draft room McDaniel was like, Hey,

(16:39):
we got to draft this guy. If we do, I'll
take my shirt off. He was so enthusiastic to get
this man. And any anytime you have an offensive coordinator
who is that set on getting a guy, you know
that they like the tools that they're gonna bring with them,
and Herbert has needed a different deep option I think,
So Brennan Thompson, we'll see. I don't know if he'll

(17:01):
be anything. He's a pretty wee fella in terms of
an NFL wide receiver. He's slim and he's a little short.
But if he can do that in the SEC, you
gotta hope he list gets some opportunities with the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, those charges really surprise me. Coming in one of
my bigger l's that I had to take. Was expecting
more of a run driven offense out there, and they
were throwing the ball over now again, they lost critical
offensive line pieces and I think had to adjust on
the fly. I'm still in the camp that Herbert is
really really good. The arm talent on that guy is insane,

(17:35):
and he can run a little bit. So that's an
offense we want to attach ourselves to. It's a bunch
of mouse to feed, but I'm not sure anybody is
really dominating right McConkey We've seen ups and downs from
I was part of that disappointment last year Johnson. We've
seen downs and then ups from Trey Harris were still

(17:56):
kind of waiting. They don't know if we're gonna get
that maturation. And then it was last year's kind of
early you know season spark plug. I guess KeAndre Lambert Smith.
Remember he was blown up in the preseason. So I again,
a lot of that is, you know, ifs and nuts
or candies, and if some buts are candies are nuts.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
So asking for a lot.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
If Thompson is legit, there might be enough vulnerability to
work his way into the rotation. So that's what I
be looking for. I don't think you necessarily need to
get him in redraft. I think in best ball, if
you're drafting Chargers, these are the kind of picks that matter.
Lots of best ball stuff is determined at the end
of the year when uniqueness matters, and having one player

(18:38):
that's different from the field makes a lot of sense. Again,
Chargers good offense, good could be I think that's a
great call up. All right, let's move over to the
other side. Maybe holding our nose now most likely to
be overdrafted I want to be clear, at least with mine,
it's not at all a condemnation on the player, right,
I'm not gonna pretend to say I don't know a

(19:00):
lot about these guys and it's oh, he's not going.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
To be good for me.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
It's situational plus price as always. So you mentioned the name,
it's Casey conceptsi Own going to the Cleveland Browns. He's
going off the board a EDP one ten, So I
know that is a siren song. Could be the target dominator,
at least for the wide receivers. I think Fanin would
have something to say about the overall number. I'm just

(19:25):
worried about the toxicity in the air, right, and Cleveland
seems like a fine city. But as far as the
football organization goes, particular with the siding and managing quarterbacks,
I'm out. Recent news Jake is Deshaun Watson has the
lead for the QB one. I'm just not interested. You

(19:45):
want to address the QB situation and if not, if
you think we can foster a good wide receiver there me,
I don't even want to kill Shador because I think
he could be good, but I don't think he could
be good if we're not going to give him the
reps and believe in him, right If we're.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Not, I'm not saying oh, we need to say, oh,
you're the best.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Or the greatest. He needs a repetition. He needs the
confidence of the repetitions. Running with the first team and
not hearing about Watson. To me, this is really gross.
I'm not gonna do it. I don't want anything to
do with this passing game. I'm pulling the plug in
the Browns. How about you.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I get where you're coming from with that, and I
share some of those sentiments, especially when it comes to
the quarterbacks. I think we could ask what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Cleveland?

Speaker 1 (20:28):
And we could clip just that part out, and any
time that we have to talk about the Browns from
here until we both die, we could just paste that
into the conversation and it would still be accurate. But yeah,
pick pick a lane, Pick a lane. They drafted another
quarterback in this in this class, and I already feel
bad for the guy who is going to end up

(20:48):
with the Browns and competing in this room. Pick somebody, please,
But if they do, John, if they do pick somebody,
even if it is this rookie Taylon Green if they
they decide to dedicate the entire offseason training camp to them.
I'm in on Casey Concepcion this year, so I will
actually bite that bullet because I think Conceptionion is good enough.

(21:10):
I've talked about him being close to that top trio
of rookie receivers but not quite in there. But I
think the talent says, any quarterback who can feed somebody
who is crazy versatile like that is gonna let him
do good things for fantasy. So Shador Sanders, you know,
he fed Travis Hunter at least at Colorado. That's as

(21:31):
much as you need out of a quarterback. And I
think that we could have a decent rookie season. But
we'll have to see how close ADP actually gets as it.
If it lowers because of the crazy QB situation, I
might be inclined to take him.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Again, if you're gonna make price arguments, that's how you
know you're gonna do it. They say the road to
demands hardests stomach mind is obviously rerouted for my wallet,
you know, because it is about price, and if you're
gonna make me the argument that it's volume, and one
of these guys is gonna step up. That's we could
sell me. If he breaks into the top seventy five,
I'm out. If like yourself, if he moves back any

(22:08):
any further, even outside the top one twenty five, I
think you have to start considering it real quick. On
the Browns quarterback situation, Ben is like a little bit
of Steiner math. Right, So they say, if you have
right two quarterbacks, you have done. What if you have eight, Jake?
What if what if you have nine? Right? What if
we just keep adding quarterbacks on top of the pile? Again,

(22:30):
the market has no take Shador pick two twelve, Watson
pick two fourteen, Tailing Green, who I just found out about,
is at pick two sixteen. So just absolute, keep absolute different,
just absolutely difference. I don't think I'd be stacking Brown's quarterbacks,

(22:51):
and I know it is tempting, especially in best Ball.
If you took the Josh Allen and you don't want
to reinvest in quarterbacks, you see whoever could be left
at the end that might pop if you don't know
they're gonna get snaps.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
I wouldn't bother.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
As far as the pass catchers go, I think you
make a lot of good points because everybody should have
a price, right. We should never say never, who was
your overdrafted picture? You did such a good job with mine,
did you have your own? I've got a pair.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I've got a pair, and I'm not I bet I'm
not going to be alone in this. I don't actually
know what these guys' ADPs are. I can project, I
think fairly confidently what they might become, because the forty
nine ers decided to reach drastically, in my opinion, in
my estimation, on two different players. One was Dejons Stribbling,
a wide receiver that they took in the second round,

(23:40):
which seemed to shock most people. And then they also
reached more than like a hundred picks. It comes out
that they took Kaylin Black as a running back. And
I just think when you see the forty nine yers name,
when you're on the clock in drafts and you see
how kind of injured and bear their depth chart looks,

(24:01):
it seems like a smash. We've got old Mike Evans,
we've got OFT injured, George Kittle, We've got oft injured,
Ricky Pearsall, we've got CMC who is old. I get it.
And yet I think that these are going to be
complete land mines in redraft. I don't know, dynasty whatever.
Eventually CMC has to go away. We've been saying that
for a lot of years, though it feels like but

(24:22):
I just can't imagine that I'm going to be clicking
on them in redraft, John, are you interested?

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Oh man?

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Okay, So Shrimpling went off the board pick thirty three
overall in the real NFL draft. He's going off at
ADYP one eighty eight and fantasy boards, which kind of
shows you the market is not really baring that for now.
Now the other player, I don't need to know much

(24:49):
about it. I don't know much, but I know I
love you, right calein black that would be a player
I'm interested in ADP two fourteen, right, So always that
kind of price function, but for me, it's every year,
you know, chasing the holy grail of being CMCs understudy.
Just if you could get two thirds of the volume
with like one quarter of the production, you have a

(25:11):
legitimate back. And he's going in the last round. So
I'm into Black Man. I'm trying to think of the
list of players that I've stepped on the rake. Oh Man,
there's there's just so many of them. Elijah Mitchell is
on that there's a lot of players on this side. Yeah, oh,
that's the one in Grenda in particular killed me because
he had very strong per carry epa stuff. And you're thinking, wow,

(25:35):
if he even starts four or five games, this guy
could move the needle. That just didn't happen, because as
we know, we don't know anything about injuries. McCaffrey had
four hundred healthy touches or whatever. Just complete insanity. Is
that gonna happen again? I tend to think nature finds
that equilibrium.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
We'll see.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
We have one more category to go, and it's the
pick that annoyed us more than it should. So I'm
gonna pick my jets right because they always annoyed me
more than they should. And this is actually does it
necessarily mean like a bad pick.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
It just annoyed me more than it should.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
And it was the Kenyan Saedik pick at sixteen overall.
I don't pretend to know about these guys, and I
keep saying that sixteen overall feels rich for a tight end.
I tried to tell myself not to overreact because we've
seen so many players not just be good, but be great.
So I feel like that ceiling is broken now right there.

(26:31):
You can be a first or second year tight end
and just completely dominate. The thing that annoyed me, Jake
and I was alluding to this last week was that
they drafted Mason Taylor at forty two overall last year.
And I guess it's new organization and new brass, so
we have to let it mature and let them cultivate
the product and the environment that they see fit.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
But that just.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Annoyed me because now it's two tight ends in the
top forty in there, they kind of have to overlap
unless the Jets have some plan for a Gino Smith
two tight end offense.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
That's never really been his thing, so that kind of
annoyed me.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I hope he's gonna be good, but I almost feel
like for Sadiq to hit ceiling, it means Taylor is
not a thing. I don't know if that kills their
draft value. So before you do your pick that annoyed you,
could you address that. I annoy'd mentioned liking Sadik at cost.
Now I'm kind of not so sure. What if they overlap, right,
if there is redundancy, because that's something that can kill

(27:30):
you in fantasy circles, especially for a rookie that you
know may mess up asignments, it's to be expected.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Well, John, there is two players that I really liked
pre draft that I was really hoping for positive landing spots,
and one of them was Kenyon Sadik And I am
now much lower on Kenyan Sidik as you are because
he went with the Jets because it just seems to me, Yeah,
we have rookie tight ends that pop off, but when
a guy is that raw as Sadik seems to be,
he needs somebody who can actually polish him into becoming

(27:59):
the player that reaches the potential that he has. I
don't know that the Jets is that team or that organization. Hopefully,
like you said, there's been some changes, so who knows.
But I'm just going off with the previous track record
and I don't like it, so I think you're right
to not like it. I also don't like the Mike
Washington to the Raiders pick. I was very high on

(28:21):
Mike Washington pre draft. His combine where he was so fast,
the second fastest on the day, and he's so big.
You don't see a guy with that combo come out
very often. It just felt like there were so many
landing spots he could have went to to immediately be
a dominant force, and now instead he goes to the Raiders.

(28:42):
He's splitting time with Ashton Genty. Do you think that
maybe Ashton Genty will get more of the touches than
Mike Washington, because I tend to think that. So we're
gonna be just hoping. I don't know, he breaks off
some big plays every once in a while, or you
never hope for an injury, but that's the time where
he would actually be useful as if Ashton Genty is injured.

(29:05):
So it's just a bummer, man. I don't know if
you really noted much about Mike Washington or a big
fan of him, but just commiserate with me because it
really sucks.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Well, I actually love hearing about players that you like
that are cheap while I have my best ball hat on.
You know what, I'm really getting ready to kick my
fantasy year into gear. Here, A guy like Washington, right
who you like think could do everything, feels like the
direct understudy to a first round pick that also had

(29:41):
first round pedigree, that has a year of experience.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Under his belt.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
I love being able to pair those two assets together.
This feels like, you know, the old monopoly boards, getting
a hold of they Maybe it's not the purple, maybe
the Raiders aren't the first one, the purple one. They're
probably the light blue with the orange though. But knowing
that you can secure all those.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Touches, or you know, theoretically as close as you can.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Get without having to overpay on the second pick, this
is we're gonna talk about fair market value.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
And stuff as we get closer to the season.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
You can't overpay for Ashton Genty. He's a consensus first
round pick. You can't really overpay for him. Where you
can overpay is trying to supplement that injury concern and workload.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
So, man, you likely Washington being sad about the landing spot.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
I get it if he went through a place like
a place where we had our benefactors, right, So, had
he gone through Washington, we'd be really high on him.
Let's take the consolation prize. He's most likely going to
sync throughout the offseason. People are just not looking for
volume behind Genty, and maybe Washington is elite season steel. Again,

(30:51):
You're right, we never want to put injuries into the
ethos here. But it's a war of Attritionia is a
really tough game and it's really hard, and a guy
like Gentie that hat all those touches, you don't become
less likely to get injured the more touches you get.
That's just kind of a fact of life.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Man.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
That was really awesome, Jake. I think we can get
out of here on that.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I'm feeling really.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Prepped on these first couple of rounds and we're gonna
