Speaker 1 (00:05):
Ladies and gentlemen, Buffalo Wild Wings Mall of America, Welcome
back to the final hour of the Friday Football Feast.
Those of you are new to the equation, that's Eric
nord Quist. He's the producer and a co host of
today's Friday Football Feast. I'm Paul Allen. We got Sam
the man guiding the fan as the engineer here at
Buffalo Wild Wings Mall of America, and we'd like a

(00:27):
witness and preferably a raka's round of applause if you
can hear us quite well because it's packed in here
and it is a little loud. For Parker Fox, formerly
with the Golden Gophers basketball team, but working as a
as an analyst for analyst and entertainer for several of
the KFA and shows. So we welcome at Parker Fox

(00:47):
two four via X with us.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Hey, Parker Fox.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Ladies and gentlemen, around of applause.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You're rooted for him when he was.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
A power forward feast and now it's a Black Friday Feast.
And here's Pete if anybody heres on X following at
Parker Fox two four. At Parker Fox two four, good morning,
and I was the parking Good morning.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I got lucky, I got I snuck in, had somebody
leave in, I had the the courtesy Minnesota. Hey, I'm leaving,
I want my spot. So good way to start the morning,
that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Have you ever considered on a day like this Black Friday,
at a place like Mall of America, finding a primo
parking spot and sitting there and counting how many people
ask you if you're leaving?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Oh my goodness, it could be all day. It would
be all day long.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I thought there was a spot up front and end
up being a handicap spot.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I was like, oh, I'm good, I'm right, We're gonna
go right in. I'm gonna get the first spot. I'm
gonna get in in the back seat. The whole deal, man,
the whole deal.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Speaking of speaking of handicapped or handicapping, how do you
handicap Sunday at Seattle Vikings ten and a half point underdogs?
What what excites you about Sunday at Seattle Beloved Peafox.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I think it's for me. It's it's what's gonna have
up and right away at the quarterback position. Obviously we
probably talked enough about that to know that you.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Haven't talked a ton about it Aly at Thursday off
b It's not conclusive totally. Rosmer will play. I'd bet
it that way. We should find out today with the
injury report that when it comes out today the final
injury report, do any sneaky elevations and stuff like that
needs to be about like three o'clock tomorrow. But Brozmer

(02:25):
as active as it is Wolford, I believe he's practice
squad guys, so they would probably need to move him
up on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Or maybe today. But well, I think what.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
We'll hear today is that Max Brosmer will be quarterback
for the Vikings this weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, and if that happens, I think, you know, he's
a guy that's ready. I think if you ask PJ. Flack,
if you ask his coaches in the past, he's.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Truly a student of the game.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
And I think I saw that just from my time
being with him at the same university for what six
seven months something like that, So just being around him
and seeing the way he operates, truly a true professional,
one of the best for his teammates.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
And I thought when when the Vikings went and.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Got him as a as a free agent. After the draft,
I was like, this is a perfect guy to get.
It is the perfect guy you want in your quarterback room.
He's not a kind of guy that's going to be
stepping on toes. He's not gonna he's He's a team guy.
He wants to put the team first. And I thought
it would be a perfect person for JJ to have
as a backup.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
And now you're in a circumstance where there's an injury,
there's a concussion, the whole bit, and and.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
You got to step up, and you gotta be ready
to play.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
And I think you have to be able to throw
the football, and you have to be able to go
out there and put a good product in the field.
And from what we've seen Minnesota fans at Minnesota, he
has the potential to do that.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
In uh Well said, in your playing career, were there
ever times the seasons where you kind of had to
pick yourself up a little bit more? I mean you
think about, like I guess, you know, carrot or light
at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, where
there was a lot more internal motivation versus potential accolades
or postseason play. What's that like when it's just the

(03:55):
dog days, but you know, you got to go out
there and prop up your boys.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, I think you know, basketball's different than football in
terms of a six month, you know, type of season versus.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
A shorter season. But the NFL is it's a long season.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
You get the preseason games, you got your bye week,
you're playing if you're playing in the playoffs here, you're
looking about twenty five weeks of football.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
So that's a long time. So you get into those
dog days. I always thow the.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Dog days would be kind of January ish time for basketball.
So you gotta find ways, and you got to find
your why. I think that's one thing. Yeah, that's a
great thing in life as well, but I think especially
in sports is like that, why are you going out
there to play? Like if it's for someone else, if
it's you know, if it's not about like your true
passion for the sport, your true desire to be out

(04:36):
there on the field, you're going to struggle. You're going
to struggle to kind of find your your image. So
I think that's something where I always encourage young athletes
to find your why. You know, truly love what you're doing,
and if you're able to do that, then you're able
to go out there and just go have fun with it.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Well, see, it's very interesting you said that because the
way I put it, and I spent about five to
ten minutes talking about it in the open of the show,
and I certainly am in no way saying from four
and seven that there will be Minnesota Vikings that don't try. Yeah, okay,
but it's this is you know, in the Kevin O'Connell run,

(05:09):
we've had one non playoff year twenty twenty three, but
they had a chip, a decent chip chair chance to
get there with like two or three weeks left.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Maybe even a little later.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
This is virtually a non playoff chance with three major
holidays in front of you Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Totally so that this is infrequent.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Okay, this is in you know, in all my years
of calling games for them, I didn't look back at it.
Maybe twenty ten, you know, when Farv decided to play
where you know, you've got a squad and you're like,
you think it's gonna go this way, but then it doesn't.
That's just with six games in front of them, it's
human nature gets to win two, you know, whether your

(05:54):
will fights it or your will succumbs to it. And
I like the way you put it there with the
what's your why? Because the why is not why are
you here? We know you love it, We know God
gifted you away to get you here, and you've capitalized
on him.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
But with the next.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Six for veterans with fat bank accounts that they know,
they're a month and a half. And the thing about
NFL players is they get all their money during the season. Okay,
so all of the money is from the first game
to the last game, you know, unless there a bonus
is paid in like March and things like that. So
I mean, these massive checks are hitting twice a month

(06:35):
and they have nothing to do. They have no time
to do anything because the meetings, practice games and that
rehab and that whole thing.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
So the why.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Here for me is why should you be your brother's keeper?
Why should you You've made a ton of cash over
X amount of years?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Levi Drake Rodriguez hasn't. Jalen Redman.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
His why shows up every single week, Where, when and why?
And he's sitting on the biggest, a life changing deal
for him totally. Well he needs help. Yeah, by you know,
football's the ultimate team game, kind of like hockey. So
therefore you need those around you to do it the
right way for you to shine. So that's just one
example there, but Brozemer would be a high end example.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
What's your why?

Speaker 1 (07:21):
What's your why into a game like this from four
and seven with no dangling carrot? Like Nordo said that,
that's that has to be established.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
What's your why?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Man?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I agree, and I look at guys like Harrison Smith.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
You know, not that I'm sitting here giving Harrison Smith advice,
but a guy that could probably retire you probably you're
in that locker room more. You know, if he's gonna
be done next year or if he's gonna play more football. Nonetheless,
there's not a whole lot of football left in his career.
He's he's towards the back end of his career. And
I'm sitting here now. Or it's just like I watch
these college basketball games and what I would do to
just go practice one more time, or to be a

(07:53):
part of that locker room. And that can be your
why as well, because you truly love the environment that
you're a part of. You don't remember the games, right,
you remember the moments with your teams and all that
kind of stuff. So I think that's also why, especially
for some of the older guys kind of on the
back half of.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Their career, is you don't get these moments forever.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
And I think if you were to ask a lot
of former vikings, well you hang around with just had
Kevin Williams on, he would pay a lot of money
to go be in that locker room one more time,
hang out with the guys, practice that whole kind of stuff.
So I think that's a that's a part of it
as well.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
That's Parker Fox Nordos here and I'm Paul Allen, Buffalo
Wild Wings Mall of America. We're gonna pause and mix
up the conversation with at Parker Fox two four via
Twitter when nine to Noon continues after this. All right,
So the red hot Minnesota Wild take on the red

(08:46):
hotter Colorado Avalanche today two thirty one point three kfam.
That's a nice one. The Wild victorious six consecutive. All
the Abs have done is win ten consecutive games and
shut out teams three consecuts. This is an acid test
for class today for the Minnesota Wild. And the reason
I say it they're at home and the Avalanche are

(09:09):
basically two to one favorites here.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Wow, so me.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Quite nicely, but I mean, holy cow, we know what
we've seen. What's happening with this goalie tandem for coach
Hines and Boldie came up big again. The other game
comes up big every game his best of all the season.
You have Caprice off. You've got Nico Sturm in the
mix now for a couple of games, so he has

(09:34):
his proverbial sea legs under him and Jared Spurgin's playing
incredibly well.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
This really nice game. Today at two thirty you can listen.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
To it on FM one hundred point three KFA, and
then Finchy's bunch takes on Shamrock Immortality. Tomorrow it's the
Boston Celtics in town to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That one's at like three or four o'clock something like that.
The Timberwolves have lost three consecutive. Most recently they lost
to Oklahoma City, a one loss operation the night before

(10:06):
the Thanksgiving in the business, we call it two nights ago.
They played OKC tough, but overall, what'd you think of
the game?

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah? Fun game playoff type of game.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
You know, you and I talk about it all the time,
pa Is, if you want to get to the finals,
you have to you have to find a way to
beat this Oklahoma City team and the way that they're set.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Up right now and the way that they're rolling.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I think eighteen and one now, nineteen to one, something
like that, unbelievable record and they're playing high level basketball
and Shay is playing the best of his ability, And
we mentioned it kind of off the air, chet Homer
didn't play his best game, But HiT's a big three
down the stretch. You can go inside with Hartenstein, you
can defend with Clue Dort. They just have all the pieces.
But in terms of that game, oh, just a fun game.

(10:46):
We saw great Anthony Edwards. I think if Julius Randall
was able to play a little bit better, you could
possibly win that one.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
But that's just one where you're on the road.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
If you can find a way to win it, great,
If you can't, you got to regroup, and now you've
got Boston coming into town here at four o'clock to
try to get a win.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Doesn't it feel effortless for them at times?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Right now?

Speaker 4 (11:04):
I mean, wait, break a sweat the way that you
laid it out, I mean, just kind of a sleepy
thirty five points for a Shay And you mentioned Holme
grin up and down game for him. But then when
you need a big triple, he's got it for you.
And it's just what the way we're breaking this down,
We're going to talk about how Terren Channon Junior did
his thing. We're gonna talk you mentioned Julius etc. Ant

(11:25):
Is is really having to carry I mean, just a
mountainous load on the offensive side for this team. It's
just so effortless for the defending champs, where everything has
to go right for us just to have a coin
flip maybe of finding your way into the winner circle.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
It feels its lopsided.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
You know, you can talk about a muddy West, but
in the end, it just feels like they're they're rolling
so smoothly right now that I mean, just what can
you do?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Is my mindset with them?

Speaker 3 (11:51):
And they don't even have their second best player. Yeah,
and JW he's not playing and I think he's cleared
for some team activities this week.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I think we're gonna see him on the court very soon.
Did you see by him missing eighteen games. What it
cost him?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
No, well he he no longer see like he's eligible
for new money coming up. Yeah, but because he's missed
eighteen games and at least before, he's not eligible for
the max like the super max bit or whatever it is.
And his response was cool, I mean it's I've made
a lot, I'm gonna make more.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
This squad's good guy that gets it right, fortifying the
village matters around here.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I'm not my gohedge Jay Dupp and Thatsting. That's the
kind of guys you want on your roster.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
It cost him forty seven million dollars missing eighteen games. Crazy,
potentially forty seven million, But in fairness, that's before taxes.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Oklahoma tacks big time down there. No, that's the guys
you want, right like if you're if you're a GM,
if you're a head coach. These are the kind of
guys you want in your roster.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
And shoot, that.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
May save them the chance of keeping him the thunder player.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
For a long time in his career.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
They're not only trying to set the NBA record for
single season wins. This group is so ruthlessly cold blooded.
They're trying to win ten titles in a row. I'm
not kidding you.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
They're they're they they.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Privately, I'm guessing they talk in a way like this
is child's play and if we can all do it
the right way and recognize that this is a lot
of money and we're not going to get in that
shoe size contest with I don't know, let's use Karl
Anthony Towns as an example. Hey, chat Isaiah, Yeah, we

(13:27):
know that you're every bit as good as Cat, if
not better in these key areas. Let's just say player, ah,
but you know what, if you take this amount of money, well,
we can do this, and we can do that. It
just seems like that that is this group because if
we can because Cha's young, Jadab young, Homebrun's young and

(13:50):
missed his first year, Hartenstein's middle of his career, uh,
Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins, I mean, all the Isaiah Joe
lou Dort, who continues to give ant as many problems
on the perimeter as any player I've ever seen in
the NBA. Crazy, I'm just telling you that one of
them may stray. Yeah, but they're like, if we keep

(14:11):
this group together, Brop, we're gonna win six or seven
in a row at least.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
YEA, and they definitely will.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
And they still have draft picks, and they still have,
you know, parts that they can move. And the way
that Sam Presty has set this this team up down
there in Oklahoma City, it's like it's a it's a
true juggernaut, it really is.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
And I think, yeah, right, they don't break a sweat,
like Nordo said, until they.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Have to hundred percent. And I think if you watch
this team from like a truly analytical standpoint, Yes, offensively
the balls and chase hand a lot, which forces defense
to collapse. That's whatever in the offensive end, But where
I look as the defense end, and the way that
they have second and third and fourth efforts and their
perimeter rotations and their box out and like they're excels
and all the little things that they do from a

(14:50):
basketball schematic point like standpoint, on the defensive side of
the ball, it's truly next level. But it's an effort thing, right,
and we don't see that a lot in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Isaiah Joe is absolutely the perfect player to have on
this team. Yeah, he's not going to steal the ball,
He's not going to rebound, he's not going to pass.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
What's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
He's going to be in the game at a key
moment and they're going to collapse on Shay Chet Jalen
Williams or whatever. And all they need him to do
is go five of seven from three and finish the
game with fifteen sixteen points or whatever. That's all we
need you to do. What a perfect player for a

(15:29):
team like that.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Yeah, And it's you know, I think about this.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
I know that I know the NBA and sports in
general is more global than it ever has been. But
think about how insulating a market like Oklahoma City can be,
where totally you get big city, bright lights, big personalities together,
tons of revenue and conversations and media and all of that.
You know, while you're trying to hold this thing together,
A big part of it is insulating that locker room

(15:51):
and the connection points human wise that a team develops
over the course of time.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
You get the.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Chill down there in the arena where it's friends and
family night, and Graham's there and somebody brought cookies and
cinnamon and all this, and they just get to watch
the best team in the NBA. The pressure on them
certainly exists.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
The competitive element of it all exists. I totally get that,
and their coaches the bomb yea.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Their coach is awesome, And I just think there's an
insulating element for the best team in the NBA to
be down there in Okay see versus let's say the
Knicks right to maintain that even out in LA, how
difficult it is to manage the noise. I mean it's
on it's pizza parties and the movie nights out at Oaklaho.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I think you could tell too from this team you
watch their postgame interviews that they've made the group interview
in the glorious right where they're all there. The cameras
rolled a little extra long on ESPN on I think
Wednesday Night or Tunesday Night Wednesday, and it just showed.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Them hanging out and being humans.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Like the camera was just like they're just hey, like
they're just boys.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
And that's so unfamiliar in the NBA. I think you
hit the nail on the Headdards. You go to New
York Boom, we got dinner at Carbone. We got to
get out of the arena, the whole bit. Hey, We're
going to Shay's house. He's giving us a rolex. We're
gonna own some little status pizza. We're gonna be all right.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Hey, now, now you you know you as what are you?
Six seven? Yeah? Okay?

Speaker 1 (17:07):
So you as a big man in Division one college basketball,
you know you you know the importance of big players
who can pass. Ye now, like Blade Dvac one of
the great passing big men in the history of the NBA.
Certainly are Vita Sabonis, Demontas Sabonis.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I mean, it goes on and on.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
But Finchy was on Wednesday morning and we're talking about
the OKC game and he, you know, I asked about
Hartenstein and Holme Grin and how they compliment each other
and do they play together a lot? Because that's long,
but you know, he was talking about Hartenstein and he's like,
very he said it twice, very, very good passing big man.

(17:50):
I you know, Norton, when I follow this thing closely
and I'm looking at every single box score every single day,
I had no idea Hartenstein was as good a passer
as he is. Finch put me on it and all
of us listening on it. So I'm watching in the game. Wow,
they set those back cuts up so nicely, and he
is just he throws them open. Isaiah Hartenstein throws players open.

(18:11):
It's impressive.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Yeah, they do two things kind of on the offensive
side of the ball. When you have the MVP, you
got to put the ball in his hands and you
got to let him create a offense for himself, offense
for others. That's kind of your one, But then you're two,
especially when Shay is out of the game. Is that
continuous motion that that movement that not getting the ball
stuck on one side.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
We often talk if you can get.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
The ball from one side to the other side and
then even back to the other side, the defense has
to move.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
In the NBA, you.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Can't defensively be in the lane for three seconds, So
there's different kind of rules that avoid kind of the
penalties defensively.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
So the thunder have really figured that out.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
And when you have a big man that can operate
on the top of the key and pass the way
he can and chets an underrated passer as well, when
you can set up offense for others.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Spooky Finch gave Dillingham twelve minutes at the point at
Okay see and the game was not out of reason,
you know, so played meaningful minutes, right.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Meaningful minutes a good way to put it.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
He had no turnovers, which is key, and he hit
a three and I'm not a big fan of his
three game, but I liked how he hit that three
in in the context of the offense. It wasn't some
herky jerky throw it up the end of the shot clock.
I think it's an indicator Chris is looking for a
true point guard to lead this team, and I'm not,
you know, running down Dante DiVincenzo. Mike Connolly is basketball

(19:26):
immortality with his longevity, but beating people off the dribble
just the same as it was like when he played
for Memphis or maybe for Utah. But he gave Dillingham
twelve minutes, and I just think it's you know, he's
a true point guard and he's fast and he has
live legs.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
So do you see it that way?

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
I do.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
I think that question kind of starts with what do
you have right now from your point guard position?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Right, so you use Julius.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Randall at the point forward a lot, Yeah, and then
when that's not working, kind of like it was in
Oklahoma City. Now Anthony Edwards has the ball in his hands,
and especially in the second half when it comes to
crunch time, it's just notorious for the star to go
get the ball in his hand.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yeah. You watch what Oklahoma City does.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
They just completely every ball from they doubled or the
respect it was just a complete yeah. And it frustrates
as the bleep out of eight.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Oh yeah. And then you have Alex.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Caruso and then you have Aaron Wiggins, so it's like
it doesn't matter what you're doing on the perimeter. Defensively,
Anthony amar is gonna have a good defender between him
and the hoop, and he's not the passer that I
think he can be in his career. So I think
if you're Chris Finch, you're trying to figure that out, right,
and yeah, you've lost three straight. You're searching for a
lot of different things.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
But I Drew, I.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Do think that Rob Dillingham has potential. They have a
chance to really get him in that offense kind of
getting that confidence. I think that's a big step as well.
And I think you got to play him and at
twelve minutes starts there and I'm excited to.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
See where it goes.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
So in lieu of making a making a trade, yeah,
you gonna move for a point guard. I just see
that emanating on social quite a bit where it's just like,
go get this guy, go get that guy. And we've
seen maybe a couple of insiders or reporters drumming up.
I mean, John just doesn't like it in Memphis now
that Taylor Jenkins isn't there, and Jaw's a name that exists,
but I'm not talking about Jaw. In the meantime. You know,

(21:11):
you get twelve minutes out of deal in him. That's
cool and meaningful minutes, as you said, But what are
things potentially that this team can with the group they have,
operate potentially better offensively or in totality In lieu of
having that answer at point.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Yeah, I know, I don't want to make this Oklahoma City,
you know fan line here, But look what they do offensively, right,
and Shay's their superstar, he's their point guard, he has
his ball. His usage rate is probably the highest in
the NBA. Maybe Nicola Jokic could rival that. But they
really set up their offense, and I mentioned it earlier,
they do some isolation stuff with Shay at the point guard.
But they really play a team style of offense, and
I think that's something where I believe Chris Finch is

(21:46):
a really good coach.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I think.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
If you look at some of his atl after time
out type of stuff, he sets up really good plays.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
He's got some good pinned.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Down options, and they've got a couple shooters on the
floor that they're not as good of a shooting team.
I think the lost and the keil awnans Lander Walker
hurts them being able to make corner threes. So and
he's playing really well for the Hawks. Yeah, he certainly is.
He that's a tough loss. That's that's just the NBA, right,
you know, don't have the money to pay him. So
to answer your question, Odo, I think it's just it's
truly a team offensive type of style. It's getting the

(22:17):
ball out of Julius in Ant's hand a little bit.
I don't know if that's Rob Dillingsam's hand or Dante
Divincenzo's hand, but let them kind of be the guy
that takes the pin down screen or even sets the
pin down screen.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
And slips to the hoop.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
So I think there's a lot of things within the
offense kind of side of a basketball game that can
take place off the ball. You don't have to be
the primary ball handler to go get forty a game.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Tarren Shannon Junior. We saw this last year in the
Western Conference Finals. You know they're getting killed and and
Tarren Shannon Junior comes into the game. He's not afraid.
I called him a rolling ball of Butcher knives mark play.
I mean he's dunking on thunder in the Western Conference Finals. Okay,
same thing the other night he had eighteen. I mean
he plays so well against those guys. Now he has
to play well against everybody. Yeah, but Terren Shannon Junior

(23:00):
has a chance to be a guy who plays twenty
five thirty some odd minutes a game. Yeah, for a
team that's begging for a seventh man. I mean, nas
Reid's the sixth man. They're begging for a seventh man.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Any defense too, not Clark type of level, but Terrence
really does defend at a high at a high level.
I played him at Illinois and we had a point
guard Elijah Hawkins probably about five to ten, being generous, one.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Super fast, quickest shiftiest dude.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
And Arret Shannon at six six, sixth seven just stood
in front of him and moved his feet, you know, horizontally,
And I was like, what is going This is NBA
level talent here. Yeah, And I think that exactly describes
Terrence Shannon Junior. Now, can you continue to make shots?
Can you continue to make threes? Can you find ways
to impact the game besides just getting to the rim?

Speaker 2 (23:42):
That's defensively, that's energy plays? Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
I think they're really they're really looking Chris Finch and
his staff are really looking at Terrence Shannon Junior to
take steps.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
And I think it's that You're exactly right.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
That consistency, Yeah, over games, showing up every single day
doing the same stuff.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Julius is called two for thirteen at okay see thirteen
for thirty nine during the three game losing street five
for nineteen from three good thing. I gave him strays
of kindness the other day. Yeah, he can shoot threes.
They all can shoot threes. I mean, go bet go bear.
If you leave him open in the corner, he's gonna
hit one of four. Yeah, okay, so they all can

(24:17):
hit him. I'm just not the And this is this
goes back to a take from the Western Conference Finals.
You know, I just think they sucked the Wolves into
go ahead. If we're going to keep this high end
rebounder away from the basket, and if we're going to
keep him away from pre throw line extended in those passes,
and that's what.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
He wants to do, go ahead and do it.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And they kind of got married married to it and
it didn't work, and that's not necessarily the case right now.
I just prefer him closer to the basket than farther away.
But the point Julius Bitt is cool. But as a mixer,
I like it. As a mixer, I don't like it
being identifiable as like this is. You know, this is
the a topic with our offense to get everyybody open

(25:00):
because they're still trying to figure out who the point is.
So hopefully they're able to beat Jalen Brown's on a
heater right now, Derek White's catching fire, and the Celtics team,
you know, down Jason Tatum. They ain't that great, but
they're not that bad. They can make life difficult on you.
So that's tomorrow at Target Center. Bears at Philadelphia today.
All three underdogs won. Yesterday Green Bay plus three Cowboys

(25:24):
plus three and a half or four, Joey Burrow plus
six or six and a half. All the dogs won.
The underdog today is the Chicago Bears. What do you
guys think of that game?

Speaker 2 (25:32):
I think they get it done.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
I think, you know, with the way Cale Williams is
playing right now, with the way they're running the ball,
hopefully they continue to find Romo Dunze in some of
those middle of the middle of the field type of situation.
Their defense is playing playing at a high level right now.
So it's gonna be a tough game anytime you play
in the former champs. But I love the way Chicago's
playing and I think their top of the division right now,

(25:54):
right so they're fighting to stay there.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Right They have everything to play for. It's that belief
fact which makes them dangerous. I also wonder what losing
to the Cowboys the way that they did, staking a
three touchdown lead and point getting nipped at the wire
by Jerry's squad?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Are they still stung? Are they still stung? And on
a day after Thanksgiving?

Speaker 1 (26:16):
The ability for them still exists I believe to be
as push button as it could potentially be in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Them and the Rams.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I still look at those two teams in that regard,
so I would be leaning on the Philly side being stung,
being frustrated, and finding their way back because they're still
from the injury laid in nature of the Bears.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Defense, I just think they're really overplaying.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
I mean, they're playing above their weight class to such
a degree which speaks to maybe good times ahead with
Ben Johnson in charge.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
But do they have the true firepower to get that
thing done?

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Don't turn it over at all, find to boonees deep
a couple of times. They'll need big plays today to
get by the Eagles. I think Philly's gonna win this one.
But the impressive part of these dogs over the last
twenty four hours you're talking about it's it's undeniable.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
But I am.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
I'm rooting for the Bears to just absolutely get hammered
on today and I hope sakwon just ruins their entire holiday.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Well, I mean, Philly's eight and three and Dallas is six'
five and. One and the REASON i bring it up
is because If chicago Beats philadelphia, today, well THE Nfc
east all of a sudden is in.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Question it's in.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Play But here's the REASON i bring it, up Because
philly's been the absolute one to five cinch to win
that division.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
The entire season.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Totally, oh by the, way a division where a team
has not won back to back in a quarter.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Century, yeah, really and they're trying to.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Go back to back and it looked like it was
the dead sense they were going to do it until
they blew that lead At BIG. D if they lose,
today that, thing all of a sudden is a little
bit in. Question let's close like, this what is your
stance involving The Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Vikings what is.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Your stance on rooting against your favorite, team which would
be The Minnesota vikings lose all of their?

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Games this is the we.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Should come up with a a like A Paul charching
related name for, it, uh because you Know chart is
the one he's catching a straight. Here but he's the
one that we think of WHEN i bring up something
like this where you can't you're not going to go
to the? Playoffs, yeah a pro, Tanker so it's not
you might as well lose them. All it's, like, no
he's like encouraging people to commit. Felonies you need to

(28:25):
you need to find a way to lose them all
to secure your best draft picks all throughout the. Draft
so what what's your stance on losing all of them
to secure the best draft picks. Possible we currently have
these picks from four and, seven, twelve forty, three seventy,
six ninety, seven one seventy, one two oh, six two twenty,

(28:46):
seven and two thirty.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Five, Okay i'm not going to sit here and act
Like i'm a A nfl draft. Expert i'm AN nba draft.
Expert that's that's my kind of my. Wheeledhouse SO i
would obviously assume you lose more, games you get a higher, pick, Right,
yeah it's just in. Theory, yeah what we're absolutely. FOR
i sit here from a perspective of this is my.
TEAM i love to root for. THEM i don't who's

(29:07):
on the field. Now Max brozemer's on the. Field that
a guy THAT i would call a friend of. Mine
we've created a, relationship we're good. Pals SO i want
to see him do. WELL i JUST i. Can't they
can't get myself, There, PA i can't get myself to that.
Point i'm sure you can't. Either you're in the locker,
room you see these guys as. Humans they're not just
football players that are objects out there in the field

(29:28):
for three and a half hours for your kind of your.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Entertainment they're.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Humans you want to see him, succeed and we're so
gracious to be able to host them and have them
on the show and create like relationships with them as.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Humans SO i can't get myself to that point the.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
You, know just think about, it Like kevin O'Connell's gonna
sit in the locker room before the game and he just,
go all, right, guys we need to stay healthy, today
but we're we need to lose this.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Game Ye can you look ahead to the, draft? Gentleman can?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
You and then somebody leaves them free agency and tells
another team that, that a coach said, that and then
now all of a, sudden You're Sean payton and you're
getting suspended for a.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Year can you tell the most competitive people and pro
athletes different, sports they're all the. Same can you tell
the most competitive people you've ever met in your entire
life to pull off the gas?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Pedal, right that's just preposterous to.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
ME i just tank AND i understand the. Results that's and,
frankly given the state of the. Team if you're A
vikings fan right, now this team could very well go
out attempt to win every game and still find themselves
with the top ten draft picks right THE a topic
for me IS i want to see success From max
and you just again with a weird season that's gone
the wrong. Way pieces of, success more and potentially momentum

(30:40):
into twenty twenty six non playoff, year as this is
momentum into the offseason that says we got something. Here,
boys that's not just THE, qb but across the. Roster
More Jalen redman esque stories And i'm looking for some
to pop, up maybe even The.
