be and here. Johnny Bones Beans Bond's Bones will be

Morning Show. It's the very very first segment of a Tuesday.
It's July seventh. I hope everybody in Detroit Lakes is okay.
We're we're at this weekend because the tornado touchdown there
yesterday apparently north of the city. I believe a couple

of people injured as far as right now. That's uh,
it looks like just a couple of people injured, but
hopefully no fatalities and hopefully the property damage wasn't too bad.
We'll be there on Friday morning. More on that to come.

The USA lost in soccer. So now things can get
back to normal.

Yeah, apparently it wasn't close. I didn't see a lick
of it because I went to bed early and I
wasn't going to pretend.

month ago? Max and I thought it would be every game?

I was like, I gotta go to sleep. I think

I might die from tired.

I needed that obviously, But the guilt I felt walking
up the steps was like, I admit, I'm sorry I
killed that entire family because of road rage. That's how

was walking voluntarily to the electric chair because I felt
so bad about what I'd done. That's how I felt
walking up the stairs to go to bed. I felt

so guilty about wasting a beautiful night of summertime. But
let me tell you I needed well, let me ask

this morning. That's how happy I am.

so tired. I just hit a wall after i'd done that.

to sleep, like I have to just pass out on
the recliner or something, because I'm always like, there's something
else I could be doing, even if it is as
simple as reading more of a book or watching another
episode of a show a perfect example. Yeah, like it's

it doesn't have to be productive quote unquote right in
the traditional sense. But I'm always like, have this voice
in my head that's like you have to use every
single second of every single day.

me insane, which I've done right for fifty five years.
But not last night. But let me tell you, guys,
I remembered why we became obsessed with Ncuba College football. Yes,
the video game.

God, the new one is good on boarding on great,
it's not that much different. I haven't but I haven't
yet gotten to the nil stuff. There is one decision
I did have to make regarding that at the very

that I had forgotten that I loved so much.

And because you play as that.

Game season as a senior in high school to get recruited,
to get recruited, and you also build your player. I
named him Alex Hockey after absolutely because I feel weird
about cheering for myself. Yeah, and plus I get I'll
tear my eye watch my son run out on the field.
You know, he's thirty one years old, and you know
he'll always be a little Alex to me.

So, so you play a five game season and you
pick your top ten teams that you want to go to.
Here's the mistake I made, By the way, keep this
in mind for those of you who go back to
this game. You've got to keep an eye on who
those top ten teams are, because if you choose you know,

the University of Minnesota, Texas al Paso, and Connecticut and
seven other teams like ten total. If those three are
your first three and they give you a scholarship, those
are the only three you get to choose from.

I wanted to go to Oklahoma.

I won't make that mistake again. I did have one moment.
By the way, this did happen on my life. This
did happen as I was you know how you have
to hit move to next week, right? You played through week?
It was week two of high school football and one

of the teams on my top ten possibilities was the
University of Minnesota. And like we talked about yesterday, Sauce,
I started myself at a three star recruit, not a four,
not a five. I didn't want Alex to get too
big ahead.

See when I played it will be a five star
recruit because he has.

One the the last thing I got before I advanced
from week two to week three of my high school
football senior year, Alex got an email from p J.
Fleck saying, we're not sure that you're going to fit
with our program. Then we advanced to the next week,
immediately got a letter asking there telling me that I
had gotten a full scholarship to me Mercy in Minnesota.

is how dumb I am and how deep I get

complete light out. It was just terrible. It was not good.
They were prepared, they were unprepared and prepared. I felt
like they were unprepared.

They really had trouble dealing with the scheme that Belgium
came out with.

They had trouble, it seemed to add every they had
trouble moving the side the ball from one side to
the field to the other because Belgium was packing the middle,
and then they ended up once they kind of finally
figured out how to do that, it was still at
the point where it's felt like every time they're in
every area of the field they were somehow outnumbered. They
were outnumbered on offense, they're outnumbered on defense. Yeah, there's

never a you know, a three on two or a
four on three someplace and in a corner to work there.
Once they figured that out, maybe most of the way
through the first half, they were already down one zero,
and then they were down to to one and then
that you know, that mistake goal was just a brutal
just so many mistakes. It's I mean, every every sport

has like the when you see something like that, baseball,
you're just like, well, the baseball gods just hated me.
And then that just felt like the soccer gods just
hated hate this, and they hated him a part because
they also felt like they played they were intimidated. I
think they're at least the defenders were defense at a
terrible game. I thought felt felt like they were intimidated
the entire game, which shocked me. I don't know it was

I really felt like they were unprepared schematically and that
took them out of their game a little bit. I
think a Pulisch who I think it must be hurt
based on how he left the field and how frustrated
he was.

You know, you need to have somebody.

Speaker 8 (32:37):
The scheme is all about being able to, you know,
set things up so you've got lots of passes and
you can kind of quickly move things around and you
can get the advantage without having to beat people one
on one. But sometimes you just have to beat people
one on one. And the USA did not have a
lot of talent to be able to do that Pulicic
just the one that could, and the fact that he
was seemingly hobbled a little.

Bit or not at his best. I wasn't price.

He was one of the maybe even the first sub
in that second half. It was, like I said, I
really felt that they were unprepared for what Belgium did
to them early on in that game, and then they
they just kind of got intimidated, and I really felt
like they were making some progress in the second half,
the first half of the second half before the dumb goal,

I felt like they had a real shot of sort
of recovering and gathering themselves. And then that goal where
you know, credit Belgium a little bit on some of
that stuff, but there were so many just weird decisions
it made in the heat of the moment that were
bad decisions.

But why are you chest trapping? You can't chest trap.

I don't know what that it's happened.

Oh my god, suddenly I don't remember the last three
days I've been It's a bit of chest.

You know, there's so many instinct things that would start poorly.

Twins have lucked out this year. It comes to the
MLB Draft.

Speaker 8 (49:01):
Originally, when they did the draft lottery back in December,
if you took a look, it was already being referred
to as the rock O Chilowski Draft. Wow, like that's
how how everybody how sure everybody was he was going
to be the first pick in the draft. It's been
referred to as the Rocko Chilowski lottery, you know, for

(49:21):
a year. Right at the time, with the well the
Twins ended up with the third pick in that lottery,
it looked like it was going to be, uh, you know,
one guy and then a bunch more and then maybe
there was a high schooler named Grady Emerson that was
also thought that he can maybe take the leap and
he did so that it was supposed to be a
two person draft, and of course, as Minnesota sports goes,

(49:45):
we had the third pick, right we all, we've all
been with watching the Timberwolves for thirty you know how
it goes. Uh, But what happened in the n C
double a year this year is a catcher who you
know was probably more like a mid third fourth round
draft pick, maybe lower second first round pit pick pick

(50:05):
had a monster year, just an absolute crazy year. His
name is Von Lackey, to the point and also to
the point where he was so good that some people
were even putting him above Rock Chilowski over as sort
of the best overall pick. So now it's a three
person draft, and to keep things simple, odds are twins

(50:29):
are just gonna end up with whichever of the three
ends up. And the way we've been thinking about it
for months is Rock Schalowski first, Grady Emerson the high
schooler second, because Tampa Bay drafts second and they loved
they tend to draft high schoolers, and then that gives
you the twins with von Lackey. Von Lackey is a
college catcher and he you know, he's you know, you

never have guys just jumped straight to the majors, but
he could be coming up fairly quickly, the thing kind
of way Brooks Lead did within a year or two.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
So it wouldn't be s if.

Speaker 8 (51:00):
By like twenty twenty eight even you see him in
a Twins uniform and sweety, and I mean, this is
one of those years where it's a you know, all
three of these guys could be the number one pick
in other drafts, like he's that good, so wow.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
On my favorite website, Kelsy, Grady Emerson is the favorite
to be the number Tom Shane.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
Tom Shane loves Kelshy. Yeah, I meaneah.

Speaker 8 (51:30):
You know, in general, this is the time of the
year before the draft where everybody starts wondering if things
are not going to go the way, not going to
go chalk the way people have been expecting for a while.
There's a lot of rumors flying around, and you know,
the White Sox are as good a wild card as
anybody on this So I mean, it could very well
be that the Twins end up with more than one

of those players available, but they're gonna en up with
one of those players available.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
Sweet and with great and.

Speaker 8 (51:58):
They would probably prefer one of the two college players
just because there's less risk associated with them. But they
end up at the high schooler means you have to
wait a little bit longer. But we have another, you know,
Walker Jenkins type talent in our farm system.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
So really matters? Is this you sure? Yes?

Enemy archer who killed nearly killed, I should say Genghis
Khan and then voluntarily confessed after the battle instead of
