Speaker 1 (00:00):
Listen up.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
The radys just came in for last month. We are
number one. We just grabbed every key demogram super duper.
That's nice. Fight a goo Nito gay, Yes, boy, that
is good news.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
It is the ninth day of June twenty twenty six.
Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Patrie of Morning Show.
My name is Chris. I can here. We go on
a wild Tuesday morning. I tired Tuesday, but I hope
you're feeling good. Let's get her started that it's gonna
be hot. There s would be some storms. There's gonna
be a John Bonus siding and Marty Gallarnar sighting in
a cast of thousands. Here's some comedy from Shenguang to
get the show started. We thank you for tuning in.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Come on in. I'm glad you're here.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Sometimes I try to be brave when I take a shower,
like I don't wait for the water to get warm.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I don't even test it. I just walk right up
in there like a warry earth. It is hard.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
If you want to be real crazy, don't even turn
on the water.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Try this.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Take your clothes off, get naked, depth inside a quiet
dry shower.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Feel that tension. It's different, it's not neutral. Look at
all the nozzles.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
On your shower head and then with your own hand,
blast yourself. Don't flinch, don't block, just be brave. When
the ghosts see you do that, they get scared. The
(01:34):
haunter becomes the haunt head. They're like this, do crazy,
I can't stay here.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
And they leave. And when you.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Feel that, spirits start to dissipate.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
You go boom, Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
There shit.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
You talk, give me too, I'm me the tire. Oh go,
I'm mad.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Labard trem Morning Show, Tuesday, June ninth of twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
The band's back together.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
We're all in the uh Saint Louis Park Studios. I'm Corey.
That's Chris, there's Paul, there's Zachary. Hi, guys, Hi, Hey, Corlas, Hi, hugs, Daddy,
see you, good to see you, Good to see you.
How are you? How are you? I'm great?
Speaker 7 (02:43):
Great come And Johnny Bones said I is gonna be
back in a second as well, right from traveling the world.
I do believe that's correct. I haven't seen him in
a second and a half. That he was in Germany
and all over Europe and now he's back.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah. Man, he said he was gonna be here early,
pretty corm here early.
Speaker 8 (03:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I think he was just letting us snow. I don't know,
you know, I.
Speaker 7 (03:03):
Know what, Chris, how long did you live in California?
Speaker 3 (03:07):
One year?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Almost exactly one year?
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Who is that lady you called when you needed anything?
Speaker 7 (03:14):
So here's the reason I asked. I'm sitting at the
old poker table in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
This week and uh, you know a bunch of dudes
and we're just.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Sitting right, that's what you do.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
And this old dude across the table from me just goes,
did you feel that?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
And I felt nothing?
Speaker 7 (03:31):
Felt absolutely nothing right, And I go you normally, no,
what are you talking about? And then the guy that
was two to my right goes, check out the chandeliers,
and the chandeliers at the top of the ther was
that horseshoe?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah? Or Paris no horseshoe.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
The chandelier lights were shaking like just like reverbing right.
It wasn't a current shake, it was just still the effect.
And I'm like, that's weird. What the hell is going
on there? And some guy I find some website and
sure enough they verified it. Was like a three point
nine earthquake on the other side of Nevada. I didn't
(04:07):
feel a thing, but it was enough to shake the
foundation of the hotel just enough to get their chandelier rattling.
I'm like, that was weird. I felt zero didn't move
at all, but it registered. It was big enough to
shake the shake the chandeliers.
Speaker 9 (04:21):
Somebody using a pinch exactly Basher was using a pam right, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:27):
Technically I think the first earthquake I've ever experienced but
didn't feel a second of it.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, yeah, I only felt one the calendar I lived
out there, and it was weird because I was sitting
in my car and my Camaro waiting and go into
a movie.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
That's the right place to be correct in a car.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
And my car started moving like this, and I thought
somebody was jumping on the back, like messing with me. Yeah,
and there was nobody around, and I realized, yeah, it
was a little earthquake. It's pretty weird.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
It is weird, right, that is weird. It's a little unnerving.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
Even though I didn't feel it and the building didn't
quote shake, I was like, are we supposed to leave?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Like?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
What is there?
Speaker 7 (05:02):
Are these coming waves. How does this work? Could there
be a bigger one coming? Should we get the hell
out of here? I don't know how this And of
course nobody flinched. Were all degenerate gamblers. Nobody moved an inch.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Nobody really got going. I don't think a lot of
you would leave. No.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
That was the year that the one time there was
a fire alarment plant in Hollywood, and it was louder
than hell. So I ran down the stairs and was
the only person that took the fires.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Or the escape.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
I got out of the building, waiting for the throngs
of people to pour out of the hotel. Only one
more proof. Everybody's like, I'd rather birded death. Yeah, I'm
not stopping gambling.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
I've lost so much money I'll just lose it on.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Correct, right.
Speaker 7 (05:45):
And I was in my room when the alarm went off.
If I was on the casino floor, I ain't leaving.
There's a million doors. I can get out of here
in two seconds, correct.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, I don't have time for that. Nobody moves, No,
unbelievably moved. Was that the same your that like the
elevators stopped working and we had to like walk up
the stairs to our rooms.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I don't remember. I do not remember. That was greasy.
Speaker 7 (06:12):
Yeah yeah, speaking of hotels, man, since we're all degenerate
Vegas fans, the hard Rock guitar continues to go, oh yeah,
you know what. I didn't quite understand it all until
I walked past it a couple times this week. First
of all, holy cow, is it blocking the view of
(06:33):
every room at Treasure Island the t I? Because t
I is right behind where the mirage was, right, the
guitar now blocks Treasure Island from seeing anything.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
But the opposite is true.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
You know.
Speaker 7 (06:45):
That's where Vegas Las Vegas Boulevard just slightly curves back
towards like Venetian and Wind, So the guitar is essentially
facing right down the strip.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Those those room views at the hard Rock.
Speaker 7 (06:59):
Are going to be unbelievable because it's it is right
down the alley.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It's facing perfectly.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Yeah, it's in the exact right spot for the best
possible view.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
That'll be outstanding. It's gonna be sick. Yeah, that's cool.
That's cool, and it's gonna be cool.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
I can't wait. That's cool.
Speaker 7 (07:15):
It's it's way up there. It's kind of overwhelming when
you get close to it.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
You've seen the one in Florida, right, Yeah, so you
know exactly how big they were is it's sick. It's
coming along. Yeah, that's coming along. I can't wait, it's
getting there. I love that city. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Did you do well? Uh?
Speaker 7 (07:34):
Yeah, I technically won seventeen dollars.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Well damn, because I got to leave that to the
kids pretty much.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah, that's kind of because I've played on Thursday, cashed
the monster stack after sixteen hours of play, and then
could have flown home, and I was like, well, screw it,
it's only once a year.
Speaker 7 (07:55):
So I rebought into the exact same event and tried
it again and then last like hours, so I essentially
won my money for the second buy in on the
first one and then broke even. So that was like
twenty six hours of cards, won seventeen dollars.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
In a hot break total. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
But it's fun about it?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, of course, super fun. And hey, two cracks.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
At like, you know, a couple of million, whatever, what
are you gonna do? Yeah, right, that's true. Man, that's
a good fun.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Did you know anybody that did want anything?
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Oh a bunch?
Speaker 7 (08:28):
Yeah, And there's there's the event that I was in
is still going on, and there's three giant Minnesota names
still in there with eighty people to go out. Of
like ten thousand, there's three. Three of the Minnesota Goats
are still in there. So we got a chance at
a at a bracelet.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Probably.
Speaker 7 (08:43):
Well, it's been fun. I saw James Woods because he
plays cards, so I saw him at Paris. He's very short,
which of course everybody says it about Hollywood actors.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
He's like my height, and again that's not sure.
Speaker 7 (08:57):
I'm five eleven, but like, yeah, I don't know why
I thought he he's going to be six or five right, right,
James Woods, he looks like five ten, five eleven, and
he's got super super white hair.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
He's getting old. Yeah he is old. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Did you take his money?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Nope?
Speaker 4 (09:12):
No.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
He plays all the weird games.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Speaking weird games, how about that basketball game you guys
liked last night?
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Yeah, go San Antonio Spurs, let's go.
Speaker 8 (09:22):
What a wee?
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Over yet? No, it is cheated.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
It's not over yet.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
They just keep cheating. They're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
How did they cheat?
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I missed the end of the game they shot look
of it.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
I was just listening to people pissed off about it
on the way home less night.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
What are they mad about? Yeah? What are they mad?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Wemby fouling everybody and not getting any fouls called, and
uh must pissed.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I figured you guys are be all fired up about us.
I better listen, but apparently are all yeah, they're all
fired up. Many what the Knicks had twenty four fouls
against them in the second or no, the Spurs shot
twenty four free throws in the second half and the
nixt shot eight mm.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, that's a you're like, well, let's piss off. This
pisses me right off, that's what he said. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's kind of ridiculous. That's what I thought.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
You didn't watch, did you?
Speaker 2 (10:07):
No?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I did.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I saw where Wemby pushed Brunson and then Brunts and like,
you know, if you're gonna get pushed, you gotta stand up, right, hockey,
you gotta fight back, and got right up to him, right.
Brunson ain't scared, And I saw that people were pissed
about that. And then Stefan Castle's new bit is he
just runs through people, just truck people. Yeah, somebody tweeted
(10:29):
he loves that truck stick and uh, meaning he just
runs through people when he he did that a couple
of times, specifically to.
Speaker 7 (10:38):
Brunson when he ran him over and looked like he
hurt Brunson's back for a second. But yeah, Castle made
no attempt to bob or weave or get around him
to let's just go through him right, got reviewed for
a flagrant and I didn't go that way. But still,
yeah that I turned it off at halftime. I'm like,
this game's going the wrong way, and then it then
(10:58):
it went the other way.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
They won by man.
Speaker 7 (11:00):
Good for you and your daddy. I talked my dad
into it the very last second. It took it took
me days and days of convincing him to hedge you
did you did Wow.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Finally got him to do it. Good for him.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
So he still wins way more money if san Antonio wins.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
We're still teering for the Spurs. Yeah, but at least
he doesn't win zero. Yeah if the Knicks wins. So
he found a very nice compromise for a hedge. I
meat sauced my hedge I meat sausted.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Hello.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
I had forgotten exactly how much I had bet on
the Spurs.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
So I'm like, I want to. I want a hedge,
because what do I care?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I just want to.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
I'm not winning nearly as much as my dad was.
I was just buying a ticket just to sweat it
with him, and you're up seventeen bucks your roll exactly.
So I'm like, I'm just gonna.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I'm going to hedge so I can basically win the
same amount either way, right, just so I get a
little bit more on the Spurs in the Knicks.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
So I throw a handful of hundreds of dollars on the.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
Knicks, and then I realized later that I bet too much,
So now technically I win more of the Knicks win
brilliant because I didn't do the math right. It's like,
I'm like, I think it's I think it's this. I'm like, god,
dang it. Actually now I'm a slight.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Next fan here, I guess. But I'm still cheering for
my dad, so I'd rather have this. It's better if
this person one. Yeah, well that's just great, and they
can still do it. If they had lost last night,
it's over. You got you go down O three. No
team's ever come back in the NBA playoffs from three
come again, it's it's it's over. That guy didn't get
what you said. What year was it, and what was
(12:33):
the circumstances when Rosie paid you? And then the Heat
or whatever came back or whoever it was, it was
the Warriors and.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
The in the Heat or something like that.
Speaker 7 (12:43):
I forgot like three it was three one and he
paid me, and then the cat and then he won
three whoever the other team was one three straight. Yeah,
and he's like, well but the bets settled, you paid me,
you said it's over.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, tough Gatzungas. Don't pay until it's over then. Yeah,
that's normally how you do it. Yeah. Yeah, he forfeited, Yeah,
he quit. He meets Saucy, he meets sausted. Yeah, that's amazing,
not even mad. That's such a great scene.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Well that's just great.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
God, I love that movie. Also great. Yeah that's Ben Stiller, right, yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Still don't understand. And I've heard both sides.
Speaker 7 (13:25):
Now, are those guys getting those tickets for free or not?
Ben Stiller, Shallow May, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, John McEnroe,
Chris Rock.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
All these guys that are sitting close.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Because if you're if some people are paying one hundred
thousand plus dollars for front row seats or close to
front row seats.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Are those guys really paying that.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Much a time or are the Knicks just going it
makes us look so much better to have it be
a red carpet that some of these seats are just
gonna be.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Comped to guys like Ben Stiller. How does that work?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
I don't think that got him from the doctor, Doctor winflow.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
J Yeah he's got a ticket hook. No, he just
has a hook on tickets. Yeah, well, doctor Winslow, Yeah
he's got a hook. Yeah. I wonder how that works. Oh,
I mean, how do I say this about?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
How do you say it?
Speaker 8 (14:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:22):
How do you say this without being mean?
Speaker 2 (14:24):
How do you say, let's say, to make the Matthews
either one hundred grand a ticket for the fur front row?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Does Fat Joe have the kind of money that he
can just spend one hundred grand on a ticket? You said?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
How do I say this without being mean?
Speaker 7 (14:40):
I'm like, this is going to be a shot at
Rosie for sure. Didn't know the target was Fat Joe's music.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (14:46):
But like, damn it, fat.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
You see like Spike Lee. Spike Lee's got cash. Ben
Stiller as cash shallow thing in twenty years correct, he
has one hundred grand just to blow on a ticket.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
I can't imagine that he does unless he I made
some serious investments back in the day that we have
no idea about. Maybe he's a part of a record company.
He's just printing money from twenty years ago.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah, I bet he owns stock in gutter.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Helmet gutter helmetemn dot com. He doesn't worry about his
gutters because he has gutter helmet men dot com, just
like uh my dad does. Hawk's daddy has gut her helmet.
Gutter heelmetemen dot com. Never clean your gutters again? Do
they have that on their website?
Speaker 7 (15:24):
That lawyer, Lambert, Fat Joe, and Meat Sauce all use
gut her helmet.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
I don't know if Fat Joe does, but uh uh
I think it's a comp from the Knicks. Yeah, yeah,
from uh that doctor Guy.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Doctor Winsto, Jano Jang.
Speaker 7 (15:38):
Yeah, John Bono should be here in a second, Marny
Geller at like seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
This is the Power Trip morning show on the fan.
Speaker 10 (15:47):
For seventy years.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Maybe Johnny Bones doesn't coming in today.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Maybe he's still sleepy.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Maybe you overslept.
Speaker 8 (16:04):
You never know.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yeah, sounds like k maybe he's on I don't know,
spring time.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Lucky man.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
I got three quick notes from my Vegas trip that
I wanted to throw at you guys quickly.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
These are all fast.
Speaker 7 (16:24):
Number one, the prostitutes, and a streak continues again.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I've been to Vegas, what so you slept fifty or
sixty times in my life and I have never been
propositioned that continued. I did not get proposition once on
this trip, so the streak is still on. Okay, that's good. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:40):
I don't even see him anymore though. You know, back
in the day, I used to see them all over
the place.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
I feel like, that's clearly a lady of the night.
Speaker 7 (16:46):
That's a street walker right there. I don't even see
him anymore.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
So I don't know.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
I don't know what they even look at. There's John Bonus.
I don't even know what they look like anymore. Right,
they used to stick out like a sore thumb. They'd
be sitting there smoking cigarettes.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
You're like that chick is Yeah, at the end of
a very long shift. Yeah, she's looking for something anyway.
So that's the point.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Number one is that street continues. Number two.
Speaker 7 (17:08):
One of my favorite things about this show and the
people that work on this show and the fan in general,
is Hi, John Bodis, I do like you. I'm walking
down the hallway to my room and there's a whole
pile of food outside of somebody else's room, and I
take a picture and I send this to Tommy and
I'm like, you're hungry girl, and.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Of course, and I say to Tommy, I go.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
That's one of my favorite parts of this show is
I will never now for the rest of my life
walk past hallway food.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
And not think of Tommy Olsen.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
You know what I'm saying, Like, once you do something
like that on this show, it's infamous.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:44):
So I got Tommy, Like everybody that listens, all the
diehards now, when they see junk food in the hallway
on the floor, they're going to ask themselves.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
I bet Tommy Yolsen would eat that, yeah, and he would. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
So I send him a picture of a bunch of
food in like bags like target bags, almost like plastic
target bag.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
So that's just trash, that isn't that isn't room service.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
This is trash. I sent him a picture.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
He goes even better in the bag jackpot, Oh my god,
what is wrong with you? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:17):
All right, last but not least.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
So I make it the day too of the monster stack,
and I'm on essentially dinner break.
Speaker 7 (18:25):
So we're getting close to the end of day two.
This is this is Friday. If I make it three
more hours, then my day three would have been Yesterday,
would have been Monday. I would have had nothing to do, Saturday,
nothing to do Sunday. I would have had two days
off waiting for all of the days to combine. I
gotta last three more hours. I run into our guy
(18:45):
and our gambling guy, and he goes, He goes, well,
what are you What are you doing? If you bag
tonight the next two days, I go, I got nothing,
that's the goal, and he says, well, if you bag
and I brick out of this tournament. Here, I got
two tickets to game three tomorrow, you want to go?
I go one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
So I was.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
I was three hours away.
Speaker 7 (19:09):
If I could have played poker for three more hours,
well I would have gone to one of the greatest
games in Stanley Cup Final history. That was the four
nothing game where the Hurricanes come storming back pun intended
and then Vegas still won in overtime. And I would
have theoretically been at game three. Now when you guys
asked me last week, like are you going to those
I'm not going to the Stanley Cup Final?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Why would I go?
Speaker 7 (19:31):
Well, that's the way is I would have had nothing
to do on Saturday night because I would have already begged.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
For Day three.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Would have been at game three. Wow, son of a bitch.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, three more hours I got.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
I lasted sixteen and a half.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Go three more and I'm there.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Find how closeer did you get? About forty minutes?
Speaker 2 (19:49):
About forty minutes prematures?
Speaker 1 (19:52):
God, that would have been sweet.
Speaker 7 (19:54):
Everybody raves about tea mobile and then again that's the
so far this has been an unbelief able series. But
that game was a freak show with Mitch Marner's hat
trick and then the wild comeback that would have been
one of the all timers double overtime.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
The best part of that story is the lack of
respect or the respect you have for Blake And if
any of the bonus is like, hey, I got two
tickets to go down to the athletics game, you go,
no chance.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
It's different though.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
It's because if.
Speaker 7 (20:27):
It's poker or or the Stanley Cup, I'm playing cards.
But in this scenario, I would have been off for
the next two days, waiting for Day three, so I
got nothing to do. I'll be a degenerate gambler all
day and then go to Stanley Cup Final game three
at night. Yeah, it would have been perfect. And I
freaking bombed out of the tournament. And then I rebought
on Saturday, and I was playing when the game was
(20:48):
going on dollar an hour about a bucking out. Pretty good, ROI,
how is your work traveling better than podcasting?
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Come on, so give us the list of countries you
visited again.
Speaker 11 (21:02):
Where I went to Germany and Spain and France. Yeah,
clone Germany, Barcelona, Spain, Paris, France. It was fantastic. I mean,
it was a great two in heavy chip. I'm completely
out of it. I have not I had no idea
that there was a big Stanley Cup game on Saturday.
I did pay atten a lot more attention than I've
ever paid in my entire life to the French Open.
(21:24):
As the French Open was going on while we were there.
We did research tickets. They were eight hundred euros of piece.
The time that we found tickets that were actually available,
we passed on that, yes, but yeah, it was a
great trap, fantastic.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Went to the.
Speaker 11 (21:42):
Barcelona first. I guess you gotta go pair a second,
clone third, but I mean they're all winners. Cologne that's
right along the Rhine, so we got to see a
lot of castles and Colhone is also the home of Colsh,
which is one of my favorite types of beer. So
we we had some gulsh, We shot some colsh cash
(22:04):
is what we did. And then Barcelona's amazing. That was
the one hundredth anniversary of Gotti's death and so this
this is why the pope is in Spain right now,
is because they are Agaratta Familia, which is an unbelievable cathedral.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 7 (22:23):
Have you seen the lego set that they have. It's
the largest lego set. Yeah, it's coming out in November.
It's the largest lego set they've ever released, and it's
Theta Familia.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
It's like eight dollars.
Speaker 11 (22:34):
So Goudi was an architect out of Barcelona and he
had lots of different ideas about how architecture should work.
He was also really really really good and really really
really prolific about this stuff. And he's also ended up
being sort of a figurehead or a rallying point for
Barcelona's part of the Cantaloonia region of Spain, and they're
(22:55):
kind of the kind of the text they're kind of
the Texas of Spain, like they don't they feel view
themselves outside of the outside of Spain, et cetera.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
They're their own thing.
Speaker 11 (23:05):
And so anyway, he died one hundred years ago, I
think today, and he had already they had already started
the Basilica Sagatte Familia the Sacred Family before his death,
and they continued it for one hundred years after his death,
and they just finished the biggest tower, take a portion
(23:26):
of it today exactly, and they've got another eight or
ten years to go on a lot of the decorative elements.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
On the other side of its dead, right, Yeah.
Speaker 11 (23:35):
Yeah, but it is like no other Listen, you see
a lot of churches if you're going to Europe, lots
of different kinds of construction archit.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
This is like nothing I've ever seen, you know.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
What's crazy though, So my daughter just saw it like
a couple of months ago because she was in Spain
as well, and said it was absolutely spectacular. Think of
the pride it takes to do something for one hundred
years and complete it. I guarantee you the Twin Cities
is going to feel the same way about three ninety four,
when this thing is done, people will travel the world
to see rams that are paved.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
That's incredible. But that I wonder how the funding for
something like that.
Speaker 11 (24:12):
I wondered that as well, and I meant to research.
I did not at type of research. I mean, this
guy did so many houses and projects in and around Barcelona,
including like an enormous park which we toured, and his
whole and I can't you know at the time he had,
you know, a couple of big patrons essentially, you know,
(24:34):
the guys who really wanted his architecture, really loved his architecture,
were willing to sign up and had a lot of money,
And we're willing to pay him to do lots of projects.
I don't know how this one works. Like this one's
just the Catholic Church has to be involved somewhere. The
city of Barcelona has to be involved somewhere. It's certainly
an enormous it's the thing to see in Barcelona. The
(24:56):
inside of it. His whole philosophy is he wanted to
he saw God in nature, and so his architecture was
all about nature. It was brought bringing the nature into
living quarters, so things like things you don't find in nature,
like right angles, he wasn't a big fan of, you know,
so it feels like it feels like it kind of
(25:17):
grew out of the ground more.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
So than was constructed.
Speaker 11 (25:22):
And the inside of Sir gratafam the inside you've all
by inside enormous Gothic, beautiful cathedrals, et cetera, and how
you know, inspiring they can be.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
That was the whole point of creating them.
Speaker 11 (25:32):
Right this one feels that the pillars feel like trees,
and it's so wide open, and it feels it feels
like learn of the Rings. There's a time where the
fellowship stops by and there's this Elvin community Loafalorian and
there's these enormous trees with staircases around him and stuff. Uh,
(25:53):
it feels like you're walking into that, Like it just
feels like you're walking into a forest almost where you
know where God is and it's.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
An amazing it's an amazing sensation. Can I ask you
a question from my THHD brotherhood over here?
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (26:09):
How awesome would it be if you were high watching?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Oh?
Speaker 11 (26:11):
My my my, yeah, I got, I've got, I've got
to think. Well, I don't know exactly what teach I
don't I'm pretty sure I saw some THHD places available
open in Barcelona, so I'm pretty sure that that's a
not insignificant portion of the of the experience. We also
tried to go to mass there because they do have
one mass there in the morning, and we missed it
by three minutes. It started started at like nine o'clock
(26:35):
and if you got in line by a certain point
in time before they cut off, and we were there
by ten to eight or something, No good for you,
and we got no God, God for us.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Hey, Bonny, Yes, sir, Germany has more castles than McDonald's,
does it really?
Speaker 12 (26:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:54):
I read that, stay yester and and you brought that
up this summer. I was like, that's crazy. Germany hasn't
estimated twenty five thousand castles.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Geez, I don't know. That's a lot.
Speaker 11 (27:02):
So Day two of our trip We basically went down
the Rhine about two hours and started walking up the
Rhine and stopping by castles or viewing castles.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
That's so crazy.
Speaker 11 (27:12):
And it's the interesting thing about all those, all those
cattles we went kind of through the heart of that
district of is that almost all of them were are
a lot of them that have been recreated in our
big gorgeous castles right now are completely different than what
they were when they were built. Like when they were built,
(27:33):
the point of them was basically to pull a straight
of Hormuz kind of thing on anybody trying to put
stuff up and down the Rhine River like they would.
They would build two castles across the river from each
other and put a big chain between them and say
you're not getting past without paying, right.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
That was the That was what the point of the
castles were was.
Speaker 11 (27:52):
To extract tariffs from anybody shipping along the Rhine. So
they were mostly military installations. And then what happened is
about the late or the early eighteen hundreds, one guy
kind of fell in love with the idea of a
medieval castle and what it should be like, and he
had an architect create one out of the one out
(28:13):
of the ruins that he bought, and everybody was so
blown away that everybody just started buying castles and making
them look like Cinderella's castle. Oh oh, so they are
not at all like the military installations which that they
were built for. They are they've been turned into something
that makes it feel like what they imagined a medieval
castle was like in the eight hundreds.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
By the way, I said it wrong, I'm sorry. Germany
has more castles than the United States has McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
That can which it is? That cannot be true?
Speaker 3 (28:45):
It is There are thirteen thousand McDonald's locations in America
twenty five thousand castles in Germany.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Wow, right, I have trouble believe.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
I mean, how many white castles do we have in Americas?
Front Paid Sports In a second, John Bonus is back.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Right Bones?
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Yeah, man, yeah, Bones produced some sports. Sure Bones is
missing sports man, I have missed.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
A lot of sports.
Speaker 2 (30:00):

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
The San Antonio Spurs one Game three of the NBA Finals,
one fifteen to one eleven over the New York Knicks.
That snaps a thirteen game winning streak for the New
York Knicks, the second longest postseason win streak in NBA history,
they're trying to win their first title in fifty three years,
but they're gonna have to wait a little bit longer
because the Spurs are.
Speaker 7 (30:48):
Getting back into this thing. Wemby had thirty two castle
at twenty three. Did you see more than twenty three
castles in Germany?
Speaker 1 (30:56):
I did not.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Brunton thirty two, Annob had twenty eight.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
So the Spurs for the third consecutive game, got off
to a huge start, big lead, and then pissed it away.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, at halftime they were down six.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Right, And they had a double digit lead in game one, two,
and three and found a way to find a.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Deficit in all of them.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Again.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
The Knicks, of course won the first two games, and
it looked like the same old story in game three,
but the Spurs actually found a way to fight through
it in the second half apparently and get it done.
That is the first New York Knicks loss in forty
six days.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Yeah, Day one of the NFL Draft is the last
time they lost a game.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Game four Wednesday in New York. It'll be expensive again.
And then Game five Saturday back in San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yeah man, yeah, man.
Speaker 11 (31:44):
It's gonna be got We finally got a serious, did
you just I assume the Spurs are favored going in
of course?
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Right, definitely right.
Speaker 11 (31:52):
I mean I didn't think the Knicks would have a chance.
I was surprised by those firsts.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
To get Yeah, after a game won, the Knicks were
as CENTI even money after they stole a game one.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
It was basically even money. By game two.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
I think they win. I think New York wins tomorrow night,
and I think this is over in probably five. But uh, yeah,
it's it's fun to watch. I love Cat. I hope
Cat wins, and Bronson is awesome to watch because he's fearless,
especially after Wenby threw him to the ground. He got
right back up, and it is not fearless.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I mean he's afraid, like a heights or something.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
But that's something.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yeah, there's something. He's a death But what if somebody siders.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
If somebody's seven six walked in here and started pushing
us around, I'd probably coward.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
I grab him by the Johnson.
Speaker 7 (32:39):
He also weighs about thirteen pounds. It looks like slender Man.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Yeah, he does look like.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
That would freak me out more than I guess.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Yeah, a good point.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
He looks like slender Man. Yes, something used to being
around slender Man.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Well, you're working radio correct, the only Slenderman here.
Speaker 7 (32:56):
Game four tonight of the Stanley Cup Final in Las
Vegas at seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Vegas leads that series two games to one.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
Carolina trailed four rip in game three before they force overtime,
only to lose.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
The Mighty Mighty Muslins go to that game.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah, must he's gone right here. I hear he's flying
out this morning.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
Yeah, lucky Carolina slight favorites tonight in Vegas. It's a
little strange, right, Yeah, but whatever flight favorite drapings minus
one fifteen.
Speaker 13 (33:26):
Yeah, I don't know how you can even pick a
favorite right now. I mean it's been so close, overtime
after overtime and the comeback.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Yeah, I'm sorry just thinking about it. I just love
hockey so much for you. I love the sport.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Nobody loved me but him.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Yeah, well I love you the most. I like butts. Yeah,
and you cannot lie.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
I can.
Speaker 13 (33:57):
Super honest or mix a lot.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
I like if that's what it might be lying.
Speaker 7 (34:06):
Yeah, what a weird thing to proclaim and then say
you might be lying about It's like you're already admitting
you're kind of.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Pervy, right, You're like, you guys want to know what
I like?
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Yeah, could have cut that to yourself, but do I
don't care?
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Now you're kind of pervy and a liar.
Speaker 7 (34:23):
And yeah, the Twins were off yesterday. They are at
Detroit tonight at five forty to Bradley versus something called
Troy Melton. The Twins have lost four or five overall.
They lost three out of four to Kansas City. They
host Saint Louis this weekend, and Royce Lewis is back.
Speaker 11 (34:40):
John Bonusless is back after just tearing up Saint Paul.
I know, yes, he's been back for two games. I
think he got one hit of those two games. Here
it's I mean, it's due or die time for Royce Lewis,
which seems so odd to say after you know, where
we thought he was going to be two or three
years ago, but he's been down for two years and
(35:01):
he looked just brutal before being sent down, and then
he goes down to Saint Paul and just looks like,
how can you keep him in Saint Paul? But now
he's got to do it at this at this level
and I'm optimistic.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
And by the way, as.
Speaker 11 (35:16):
A result of those struggles, it looks like his position
has changed because they have now moved brooks Lea to
third base, so he's no longer really got room for
third base. So on top of trying to hit at
the major league level, he's gotta be playing second base
and first base at the major league level and basically
learning those from scratch, because for the most part, he
played shortstop in the minor leagues and third base in
the majors. He has not played a lot of games
at second base, and I think hardly any at first base.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
There's no chance he's not good enough to be in
the big leagues, you know what I mean, There's no chance.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
It's not weird.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
It's in his head. It has to be.
Speaker 11 (35:45):
I mean, especially after what you saw he did in
Saint Paul, right right right, Yes, destroyed, Yes, that's right,
you're right. It does feel like there's just something that's
got to whatever click when he got demoted to Saint Paul,
and I mean it clicked immediately, Like his first game
back in Saint Paul, we're first at bat, he hit
a home run. Whatever that click is, he's got to
(36:08):
find it here, and if he doesn't find it here,
I don't know what his future is with the organization.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Now.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
The Twins have options on here.
Speaker 11 (36:16):
He has options, meaning they can continue to send him
back and forth to Triple A as long as they
want for this year and even next year. I think
he's got options for next year, so he does not
have to be dropped or anything. If there's no roster
machinations such as he aswers. The question kind of becomes,
he is making three million dollars this year. Next year
(36:37):
he's going to get an arbitration driven raised to three
and a half four, four and a half five, depending
on how well he does. And so at some point
you're kind of like, you know, if we don't trust
him to play regularly, do we want to keep him?
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Bring him back next year?
Speaker 11 (36:52):
So we'll see. We had just had the latest gleaming
of the geek unfortunately. On land Patreon talked a lot
about him returning and about his future, and also about
whether or not there is another infielder, and it's Saint
Paul that might be destined for the Twins real soon too.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Top one of our top draft picks or.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Cae.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
We go right, it's actually close.
Speaker 11 (37:15):
It's Calin Culpepper's nephew.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
It's not Dante's nephew.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Oh okay, yeah, he thinks it's crop.
Speaker 11 (37:27):
But yeah, he's been he's twenty two years old, and
he's a true shortstop. And the Twins are right now
playing with basically a three headed version of shortstop that
none of them are really ready to be a full
time shortstop in the major leagues, and this guy looks
like he could be there, and he's been tearing it
up at Saint Paul now for several weeks.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
I don't see how having three heads is.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Going to help you in baseball.
Speaker 11 (37:47):
Well, right, yeah, well it's a lot of a lot
of indecision.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
That's the problem.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
You know, was a point that it's hard to it's
like being in my brain, that's right.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Yeah, all right, I'm shut up. Well that's interesting. Hawk,
a three headed lady? Would you, man, are.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
You kidding me? I got what are you watching the camera?
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Pick the three heads? Three headed lady? Picked the three heads?
Go me sure?
Speaker 7 (38:27):
Anybody, let's see this is so easy.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Hawks would be Marge the Wicked Witch, and.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Uh, let's see whatever random lady has on the background
of his computer over there.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
I'm staying out of this.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
I would put p A P. Bursch and Ben Laver
and I do terrible things to their heads. Man, m
what are you already do terrible things for the Somebody
would argue some of those men do terrible things to
their heads.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
You're not wrong.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
I'd like it. I'd make them watch me do weird things.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yeah, clockwork style, Yeah, Lawyer Lambert again, shut up over there.
I think those three hunds would rather be in a
human centipede than a lot some of that stuff. And
one of them volunteer to be in the middle.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Yep, We'll do more.
Speaker 7 (39:34):
What really matters after this, scores and stats around the
world of sports and.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Crystal change your life for something else that's more interesting
than what I'm about to say.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
How this works, right, John? Yeah it did.
Speaker 7 (39:42):
I didn't hear your three heads, Carrie Russell Kate upon
an Alasta girl.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
A lot of flexibility there, get a lot of flexibility.
Happy anniversary, by the way, Thank you, uh more the
power to morning Jo after this on the van.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
Oh yeah, Shubi.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Or borns here here we are. Mini camp for your
Minnesota Vikings begins today. Hell yeah, it all happens today.
You're new defensive specialist. John Bonas is in the studio
as he has returned from Germany with some thoughts on things.
Speaker 11 (40:43):
I'm gonna leave it glad to make some changes we are.
My favorite Sherman story is, uh, We're on the train
in Germany and the conductor comes by to get tickets,
and in the seat next to us are several young
ladies and one of these ladies does not have her
(41:04):
take no ticket. And I know a little bit of German, like,
for instance, I know that the word for and in
German is oohnt.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Terrible. And so they are going back.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
She you know, he's asking for her.
Speaker 11 (41:22):
He's clear he's asking for her ticket, and it's clear
she's got an explanation as to why she doesn't have
a ticket. And it goes on and on and on
and on, and at some point he just quits talking,
and then she keeps going on and on and on
and on, and he just looks at her and goes, O,
my god, I'm yeah, blankly like, and you know, a
(41:51):
minute later, the conversation ends and they takes our tickets,
and then he looks back at her. As we were
pulling up to the train station. He's like, and she
gets off the train. So that has become a uh
that has become a new catchphrase between Chrissy and I.
Like when one person's complaining about something or explaining something
or whatever, the other one looks uping.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Dow and goes, you got you gotta have your ticket.
Speaker 7 (42:13):
If you remember, Indiana Jones once threw a Nazi out
of a blimp.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Yeah, he did because he didn't have a ticket.
Speaker 7 (42:20):
Yeah, and he then he looked at everybody right in
the eye and just goes, no ticket.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
And they all went and they all let their tickets
thrown me out of this zeppelin. That's a great movie,
a bunch of Yeah, he got real mad. Yeah, that
was when Indy was drinking German's Lake.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
There were wolves.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
All right, let's do what really matters.
Speaker 7 (42:48):
Scores and stats are on all the sports son and
then Chris, I'll tell you something that's actually interesting.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
It's brought to you by Ovo Lasik and Lenz.
Speaker 7 (42:54):
Go get Lasik from doctor Mark lovan Off and doctor
David White.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
At all lasaka lens.
Speaker 7 (43:06):
So the Dylan Larkin rumors continue to swirl, and, according
to the Detroit Free Press, a day or so ago.
They reportedly say that Dylan Larkin has three teams on
his list because he has a full.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
No move clause. John Bonus, Okay, so.
Speaker 7 (43:21):
He only goes where he wants to go, and reportedly
his three teams are the Vegas Golden Knights, the Florida Panthers.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
In the Minnesota Wild Oh sweet.
Speaker 7 (43:34):
He is twenty nine years old, he's under contract with
the Red Wings through twenty thirty one, and has an
unbelievably affordable eight point seven.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
Annual average salary two point seven. What a steal.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
He wants to go to two states with no income
tax and then Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
Or three teams that are winners or these they're also
winning teams.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
Yeah, Florida was kind of hid last season, but yeah,
they they've been awesome. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (44:00):
Thirty four goals, thirty three assists last season. Dylan Larkin,
he's a center, right, Yep, that's the whole point.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, yep. Really trying not to get too excited here,
but but it's possible. It's very possible. Did you see
it happening? Maybe? Is there a chance it doesn't happen? Well, yeah,
that could. I could see that happening as well. But
what really matters is this, Here's something I didn't know
(44:30):
till right now.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
Washington, d C. June ninth, eighteen ninety three, the interior
of a theater collapsed. Twenty two people died. That theater
was called Ford's Theater, and it was where huh President
Lincoln was shot and killed on April fourteenth of eighteen
(44:55):
sixty five. The building where President Lincoln was shot housed
one hundred of clerks employed by the War Department's Records
and Pensions Division. An investigation determined the cause of the
tragedy was a peer that had given way during excavation
in the basement for an electric light plant. Rescue work
has quickly arrived on the scene, toiling like demons to
search for victims and remove debris. Debris clerks recalled screams
(45:21):
of co workers. One witness said Civil War veterans who
worked in the building were the wildest and craziest. In
a panic, some employees jumped from the second floor, using
an awning to brace their fall. Businesses and homes in
the immediate area were used as makeshift hospitals. Anguished relatives
rushed to the scene. Some onlookers watched events unfold from
the rooftops of the buildings, plunged in a chasm of death.
(45:44):
Read the newspaper headline. Washington Post reporter visited the home
of a victim whose body was the last one recover. Say, mister,
when is Papa coming home? Asked the tearful boy. He
will come home tomorrow, won't he. One man thought there
was a curse on the build because of the lake
and assassination. He was slapped like a bh.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
This is like the age old question John Bonus about
whether what's better to have a roof collapse on you
or an entire building basically crush you, or watch a play.
Oh it's people are on both sides of the argument,
swine right, both sides. Some people like one, some people
like the other. You know, some plays are good, such
(46:31):
as like I saw a Laddin on Broadway that was
good the Book of uh.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Specifically musical musicals.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
Wasn't that a play? Aren't all plays singing?
Speaker 3 (46:43):
No?
Speaker 4 (46:43):
No, no, no?
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Usually all plays are singing, Like.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
Don't all plays have singing in them? Like Oklahoma?
Speaker 9 (46:53):
Does it's a musical? You're thinking of musicals like a
play would be like romeanjel Oh, yeah, I would see that. Yeah,
I'm four plays.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
Yeah, that's not what my sources say.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Well, well, I walked right into that.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
The FIFA World Cup is two days away.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
I believe Mexico and South Africa quote kick it off
on Thursday, and the US takes on Paraguay on Friday. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Man, I have no idea how we're projected to do.
But my guess is not good.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
No, not good no. According to Nordo when he was
on with uh, well, he's always on with PA, but
they were talking about it last week and he's basically
like they have no chance.
Speaker 11 (47:43):
But the group that they're in doesn't look especially intimidating.
It's not like there's an England or a France or
a Netherlands or anything in sort of their they're foursome
that they could Yeah, I just I just don't think
there's that good. Well, that seems to be sort of
the they should be a little lost in the yeah,
in the world of yeah sucker.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
What really matters, though, is this.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
On this day in nineteen seven to three, Secretariat won
the Triple Crown, the first to do so since nineteen
forty eight, when Citation did so dominated one of the
finest performances in racing history. Secretariat, ridden by Ron Turcotte,
completed the one point five mile race in two minutes
twenty four seconds, a dird track record for that distance.
Speaker 2 (48:34):
Yeah, buzzkill, right, because now they don't even run. Golden
Tempo won the two races that was in but ultimately
will be forgotten because didn't win the Triple Crown.
Speaker 5 (48:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Yeah, horse race people will remember, but the rest of
us will feel like horse races. Straighten this thing out?
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Well, and didn't you say that circle? Only it goes
the Derby into which one greatness? Didn't you say that?
Like three horses from the Derby race and in the Preakness.
I think I think it was not or not? Yeah,
I think it zero? Yeah, even more reason. Yeah, who cares? Right,
Although betting on horses is kind of fun, there's so.
Speaker 11 (49:12):
Much there's I mean, horse racing is fun to watch,
but nationally there's basically one thing anybody cares about. Two things,
I guess the Kentucky Derby in general and the Triple Crown. Yeah,
and they managed to actually, you know, to lose their
marketing for one of those three things.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
Like, just straighten it up, guys, figured out.
Speaker 1 (49:32):
Straight yeah, yeah, get it together, man.
Speaker 7 (49:36):
All right, So the drunkens Ganis played the A's and
normally that wouldn't be a big enough story to make
what really matters or talk about on the Power Trip
at all, But it's Vegas related, so we're going. But
it was also kind of historic, John Bonus, the drunkens
Ghani has won fifteen to fourteen over the A's in
twelve innings. But that game was in Las Vegas. Now
(49:57):
you may be saying to yourself, I thought they were
playing in Sacramento. Yes, they don't get to Vegas until
twenty twenty eight, when the new stadium's done.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
It's not even closed.
Speaker 7 (50:04):
And done yet, not even close. But they are playing
six games in Vegas this year. Is kind of a like, hey,
we're on our way eventually.
Speaker 11 (50:12):
Sure, we're gonna play at one triple at Ballpark. Why
do we played right triple?
Speaker 2 (50:15):
So they were playing at the home of.
Speaker 7 (50:17):
The Las Vegas Aviators again, six games this year before
they get there in twenty twenty eight. This is the
fourth game though in Major League Baseball history John to
have twenty nine or more runs and eleven home runs
because they combined for eleven home runs thirty four hits
and twenty nine runs.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (50:38):
I mean so the Pacific Coast League, which is where
this both Sacramento team and this Vegas team are located,
are known for being really, really homer friendly ballparks.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
Just a lot of off outside of the Pacific Coast League.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
So is that what we're thinking of them?
Speaker 2 (50:54):
So it's not too.
Speaker 11 (50:55):
Surprising that they have elevated home run totals in that
particular ballpark. But boy, that was That was the last
few innings of that game. It went to extra innings.
It was just trading off home runs for the most part,
right to the end.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
So pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (51:13):
Yeah, sweet, that's my kind of baseball. Fourteen and eleven home.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
Runs by I wonder how long that game was.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
It was fifteen hours fifteen Ye, what is this hideous?
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Now again, you guys are uncomfortable uncultured swines.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
I like plays, but no, you like songs in musicals.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Tonight is a big night. Go out and look up
into the sky. Venus and Jupiter will be so bright
you'll think they're airplanes. In fact, I would say it
was the same last night if you looked up into
the sky. But tonight they're very, very close together. This
entire month of June, as a matter of fact, is
(51:56):
huge for stargazers. Beginning tonight, when if you look up
in the sky, you'll see that both Jupiter and Venus
are so close together, looks as if they are touching,
and they are both very, very bright in the sky.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
You know, the thing about Jupiter is that's a huge bit.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
It really is.
Speaker 11 (52:16):
Is that the biggest one sure, and Venus is usually
the brightest one, so together.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
Thanks, thanks for science. Yeah, thanks, mister Wizard. Yeah, when
did that guy die? Oh god, I would badge nineties. Yeah,
somewhere in that range. Don Herbert. Oh he died in
two thousand and seven. Good run, Yeah man, good for him.
He lived in ninety, which was twenty years ago. Yeah, yeah,
(52:46):
it was. I can't believe that. Okay, I'm old.
Speaker 3 (52:50):
It's near enough Jupiter conjunction.
Speaker 7 (52:53):
Do you know where mister Wizard was born? You're bringing
it up for a couple of reasons. It's either their
Minnesota Hawk nailed it. He is born in Laconia, Minnesota.
We're smart here, that is.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:09):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
That would have been the most meat sauce thing ever.
Speaker 7 (53:13):
Feel like, you know where he was born and we
all guess Minnesota and you go Alabama.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
Okay, neat buddy, Okay.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
So tonight Jupiter and Venus will be about a pinky
with apart from each other in the sky.
Speaker 2 (53:28):
Oh yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Cool that happens night.
Speaker 3 (53:35):
So go on look in the sky do yourself.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
Favorite's pretty cool. All right?
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Yeah, get outdoors, you know, yeh, get after it.
Speaker 7 (53:42):
Go for basketball and Saint Thomas are going to square
off later this year. The men are going to play
on November sixth, and the women are going to face
off on December first.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
Hell yeah, man Saint Thomas and they go.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
For his battling.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Is uh, this is maybe a dumb question.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
Can't wait?
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Is no, you don't have to have songs in plays?
Is Saint Thomas and is obviously Division one in women's
basketball as well, right? Or is it like an exhibition
game that I don't know? Obviously the men's are the
good question. I don't know. I assume they are as
well across the board, right, I would think? So? Yeah,
(54:24):
that's stadium not Saint Thomas has a sweet it's a
very nice stadium there. I used to go, you know
who went to Saint Thomas, my brother hang on all right,
you ready?
Speaker 8 (54:41):
Yeah, Luke, no Ski Club, Pat, no Tree, no scene, Bear, no.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Hang on definitely no. No, it's not on there.
Speaker 8 (54:56):
It's not my grandpa. A guy who used to come
into the cigar shop. I worked at.
Speaker 1 (55:02):
Norg No Zach, no.
Speaker 8 (55:07):
Hawk.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
No, he went to the University of Minnesota, Corey. It
was it was Phil the Agony. Oh, Phil the Agony,
the guy who may or may not have kracking tickets.
He may or may not have cracking tickets, you listen.
And he used to work at Amazon. Now he works
for some Boston company. Yeah, he went to from but
he he still lives in Washington state. Yes, but he
(55:29):
worked for a company in Boston. Yes, but he went
to Saint Thomas. He did go to Saint Thomas. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
And just for clarification, his name is Phil d.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
No, Phil di agony.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (55:45):
And that is the brother of Smith Um who's also
Ski Club Pat and also Happy and also Smitty Um
and also Pasta.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
You're a friend, shouldn't you know?
Speaker 2 (55:57):
All of his own? What really matters?
Speaker 5 (56:00):
After this?
Speaker 2 (56:01):
Marnie Gelder in nineteen minutes, This is the Power.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
The Links host Dallas Night at seven o'clock.
Speaker 4 (56:49):
Here.
Speaker 7 (56:49):
Three and a half point favorites on DraftKings. They've won
seven straight game and they have the best record in
the WNBA.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
I hear this riffing. You've got his fantastic she's the
real deal.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Yeah, that's awesome, Olivia Miles tearing the entire leg.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
But what really matters is not that it's this Okay,
I did my best. Well, a little sweet story for
you here.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
Man by the name of Marius El's back in two
thousand and five adopted a baby hippo after rescuing him
from a river. South African man saw that baby hippo
had a hard time, so waited and grabbed that some bitch.
Speaker 2 (57:28):
This story's not going to end. Well, what do you mean,
I have a hundred particularly friendly No, in the next
sixty seconds, you're going to say that this hippo grew
up and ate this man, killed this man, trampled this
man's family. This is not going to end well.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
Man rescued this for sure, hippo from sweet Story.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
It's a great start. Buckle up.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Six years they bonded together. They did named of Humphrey.
Speaker 2 (57:58):
Oh, that's a cute part of it with the free
that's a very cute I like where this is going. Well,
it's about to take a dramatic turn.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Humphrey Humphrey, hippo.
Speaker 5 (58:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Six years later, he took Humphrey back to that river,
hoping maybe they reunite him with his mommy and daddy.
Just some hippo stuff.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
You've done some hippo stuff.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
We've been there, Marius and him. Humphrey went to that
river and you're looking look around, humph remember this stuff.
And Humphrey drugim into the river and killed him.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
So hey, real quick question, how do you walk a
hippo down to a river?
Speaker 1 (58:56):
You don't have a hippo leash.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
I mean, I mean it's a while. The giant at
this point, adult hippo of course, it's gonna bite you
and drag you into the river and kill you.
Speaker 5 (59:05):
He did.
Speaker 1 (59:06):
This guy deserved it.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Well, that's a that's terrible. No, I do a good
thing for once in his damn life.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
The guy doesn't understand that piece of trash his whole life.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
Yeah, he was using him, and he's like, man's there's
the thing. I spent all that time outside that courthouse
cheering for Michael Jackson. I've done some rotten things.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
Yeah, I quit my job for Michael.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna save this baby hippo. Really,
God's gonna like me.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
Now, A simple google our hippos mean? Yes, they are
widely considered one of the most aggressive.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
And google are hippos. Yeah, of course he's not mean.
He's just like he's an animal.
Speaker 7 (59:50):
Yeah but they're mean though, but extremely mean, unbelievably dangerous instinct.
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Yeah, very nice. But they just love eating dudes.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Tommy, your grandpa, My grandpa liked eating dude.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Likes what crasies. He deserves it. He doesn't mean morally.
He means Darwinian Lee. Correct. Correct, Yeah, let me google
something here.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
I know a guy named Darwinian Lee.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
What are you google it.
Speaker 14 (01:00:23):
Badger's suspicious, brilliant. No, I'm sorry, I like to They're
not hippos are mean. Badgers are also those susceptible to
chronic wasting disease. Yeah, has that at the casino and
cane I distemper virus.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
Yeah, yeah, but it's true.
Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
No, you win at the casino when you wave.
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
I wish you'd get eaten by rhino?
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Are they mean?
Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
I wish neils?
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
I don't think there out of here. So since they
aren't inherently mean, they're just massive, highly defensive, and easily startled.
Because they have notoriously poor eyesight. Hockey, they often charge
first and investigate later.
Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
They don't carry cash.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Yeah, brilliant. Most of these charges are bluffs. They are
incredibly fast and can be dangerous if genuinely provoked.
Speaker 11 (01:01:27):
Since we're in the middle of what really matters, there
was a effort to breed hippos in the southern United
States and replace cows with their meat.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
It makes sense to me.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
This is what it feels like, something that.
Speaker 11 (01:01:42):
Somebody is going to have to look this up for
maybe the next they have I don't remember the details,
but basically Louisiana tried to start a hippo industry because
they also because they provide meat and they get real
big and they are a cash thing. It turns out
hip particularly open to that idea.
Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Yow, well, I'm surprised they aren't into that.
Speaker 11 (01:02:10):
Yeah, like late eighteen hundreds, early night ten hundreds, there
was an attempt to make a hippo industry.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
The American Hippo Bill It's fake nineteen ten. Yeah, yeah,
they were scantily clad. Why in their means? According to Google,
their mean yeah, they're not like cows. Yeah, I bet
cows can be pissed though, but what the weather? Can't
they predict the weather? I don't think they're mad about
(01:02:37):
it though they're bare chested.
Speaker 13 (01:02:38):
Yeah, I mean where a Well the cow and Twister
is probably pretty mad about the weather.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
Well said, that's a great film, right, hogs on Twister Utters?
Would you like one hawk Twisters?
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
I loved it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
Yeah it's a fake, it's all fake.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Yeah, I mean it was a movie.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Yeah, pet it's not real. I got more.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
What really matters?
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
But up?
Speaker 8 (01:03:01):
But up?
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
But you got to give a score. Oh sure, I agree?
Oh thanks to.
Speaker 7 (01:03:07):
Take a deep breath, Tom San Antonio back in this
series after a one fifteen, one to eleven win over
the Knicks in front of all the stars in the world,
and they all paid just a ton of money to
watch their Knicks lose.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
I don't know why that makes me a little bit happy.
Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
Just I can't imagine paying ten or thirty or fifty
thousand dollars to watch a sport and then have your
home team lose.
Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
That would be really bad anyway.
Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
So that is now two to one New York. Game
four is Wednesday in New York. Game five is Saturday
in San Antonio. What really matters, though, is this.
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Now before you even ask, I am not attracted to
King Tut?
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
What about Queen Tut?
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
Why there was one? King putin Common was born to
parents who were brothers and sister.
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
Yeah, okay, hang on, let him finish.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
So DNA scans reveal he had a club foot, don't don't,
a severe overbike, woman like hips, enlarged breasts, relied on
(01:04:21):
a walking cane Reauce, had multiple physical.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Deformities, meat sauce.
Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
So King Tut I had woman like hips, that's my
favorite one.
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
But he could play a killer banjo. He was just
an inbred African meat sauce based.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Title of the podcast, brilliant I am or I am?
Speaker 7 (01:04:52):
Just google it after you Google if hippos are mean,
Google if King Tut was mean?
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Didn't he died like thirteen years old or something?
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Wasn't it's super young?
Speaker 7 (01:05:02):
Yeah what happened, But I mean back then, I can
hear what I said back then, if you lived to thirteen, Yeah,
it was the equivalent of like having an ai aarp card.
Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
I mean that was a good run thirteen back in
the bay. You're killing it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
You know, you had women like hips because he was
born without.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
A buttole, was he really? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
So it kind of backs up and it bags up
and it pools up in your hips.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
That's where they said this, the saying back that up,
cause sure, yeah, you know that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
That's what Ja Rule was singing about nineteen years old
knives six.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
I wouldn't say he's a five or six. I'd say
he's more like a two or three. I mean, guy
had woman like hips and jugs, and he had no
buttle and severe over myright Max.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Some vere over a buddy whoa. Yeah, they have like
a reenactment of what he looked like. That's not what
that is? He had a cane, he wore a diaper.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Sounds like a pimp.
Speaker 7 (01:06:13):
Yeah, did my turn? Hey, is gambling considered sports? Because
I got a sports story? If that is these.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Days, sugar daddy, ww's on sports.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
I just told these guys this story.
Speaker 7 (01:06:24):
But so I walk up through a roulette machine at
nine to fifteen in the morning a couple of days ago,
one of those machines that you know.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
No dealer, just a real ball, real wheel, right, But
it's just a machine. You love that machine.
Speaker 7 (01:06:37):
It had landed on red twenty three consecutive times.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
I did the old AI.
Speaker 7 (01:06:45):
Query, ooh one in twenty nine question one in twenty
nine million? Those are the chances of going twenty three
straight on read one in twenty nine nine. I would
have guess it was more than that even but one
twenty nine million. So I send a picture of it
to Sauce's stupid ass brother Dove because he because he
(01:07:06):
bets on red twenty three Red I think is his number,
but he just he hammers red. I'm like, look at this,
you son of a bitch. And while I'm sending him
the picture, I'm sitting down at the machine. And before
I get my money, and not that it would have matter,
because I wouldn't have had any money on this.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
Black ten ends the streak.
Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
Max, thanks, yeah, and then the screen that's very kind
of here. Almost simultaneously while Black ten ends the streak
and I'm putting my money in this, super drunk Lady again.
Speaker 7 (01:07:39):
It's nine to fifteen in the morning. Super drunk lady
walks up to the machine. She's point two bus, she's
point two stumbling, stumbling to the machine, stumbling to get
her one.
Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Hundred dollars put into the machine.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
Let's go.
Speaker 7 (01:07:52):
She's about ten seconds ahead of her other two drunk friends.
I don't know if it's a bachelorette party or whatever,
but they are.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
It's nine to fifteen in the morning. Yeah, my guess
is that this is not the.
Speaker 7 (01:08:01):
Beginning of the day. This might be the end of
their day, right people. Yeah, well, even more so because
waiting to hear what happens. So the next spin, it's
only been black once in the last twenty four spins,
not that that matters. She puts all one hundred dollars
on Black eleven and drills it for thirty six hundred dollars.
It hits eleven, but listening to three drunk girls at
(01:08:26):
nine to fifteen in the morning, laughing and going, why
did you.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Even do that? I don't know. I just went for it.
Why did you bet all of your money?
Speaker 10 (01:08:35):
I don't know?
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
Who cares?
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
I'm getting a direction.
Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
Why did.
Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
The one girl kept going why did you pick eleven?
She goes, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:08:47):
I didn't care.
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
I did kiss. So there was no rhyme, no reason.
She just said screw it, and it hit for thirty six.
Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
D Any of them will remember it, they will years.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
That's a hand that's a hand pay, of course, right,
I think it's over fifteen hundred maybe on a rule
two thousand, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:09:05):
If I guess, yeah, whatever it is, it's thirty six
hundreds over. So she had to get the old hand pay.
And so in the four or five minutes it took
for the gal to come over with the money, they
just laughed and questioned every choice that lady had ever made. Yep,
And I'm sitting there pissing away in mind on and
Roulette and drunk lady at.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Nine fifteen in the morning just crushes it. What a feeling, man, what.
Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
A just once doesn't Tommy, do the one hundred dollars
on like Red Red twenty three Michael Jordan. Yeah, man,
one hundred dollars on one number is more exciting because
he either lose the hundred or you win thirty six right,
thirty six hundred bucks? Yeah, it look ridiculous. I should
do it every time. I've had a fifty spot once.
That was incredible. You were there for yeah, we were
(01:09:50):
all there. Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
Was that at the at Aria?
Speaker 12 (01:09:52):
That was that?
Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
Was that New York?
Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (01:09:55):
I looked over my left and there's Jason, and I'm like, well,
I better put fifty and SI sixteen and then hit.
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
Yeah, and you you want almost four grand that day?
Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
Did you know? I did a damn good job. Good
for you?
Speaker 13 (01:10:08):
And uh yeah, I probably gave it all back eventually,
but you know it happens.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
