We are number one.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
We just grabbed every key demogram.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Yeah, super duper.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
That's nice.

It is the second day of June twenty twenty sixth.
Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Power Trip Morning Show.
My name is Chris Hockey. Heys for tuning in, ladies
and gentlemen. We're gonna get things started here soon.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
Now.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
We got Marty Gallarnar coming in the regular cast of
character Johnny Bones's travel in the world as he likes
to do. But there's plenty to cover and plenty to
get to. We're gonna start with Kelsey cooking some comedy.
Kelsey part of our big November fifth, twenty fifth anniversary
show out of Treasure Island. The tickets are free. You
gotta get them, though, I don't know if they've run
out or not. We should probably check on that. But
we have another big, giant announcement regarding all of that today,

(00:44):
So come on in. I am glad you are here.

Speaker 5 (00:47):
I actually just got back from my high school reunion. Yeah,
they asked if I wanted to perform at it. I
was like, I would rather strip at my family reunion
then tell jokes to the girl who during class, here's
her own belly button with a stapler.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
I grew up in a real messy area. My high
school crush showed up with a marijuana leaf tattooed on
his face.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
I was still in denial. I was like, well, someone's
not afraid of commitment.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
You talk give me too, persons, you talk.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Stuff m the tires.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Oh Joey, I agree, mad Oh.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
So t spot.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
It is the Power Troop Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
It is Tuesday, June second of twenty twenty six, six
two six.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Minn story code.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
That's Chris Hockey, that's called meat Sauce Lambert. There's Zachary Halverson.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
John Bonus's tour in the world, say in Brussels last
week or something.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Germany.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I think, right, here's like three or four different countries.
But he will not be here.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
But Martie Gillan there will be something at like seven
o'clock give or take, you know, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Something like done. That's right, Jesus, that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Hell yeah man, tons of sports.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
News in the last twenty four hours to talk about.
It's crazy and wow, I really don't know what you're time.
I'm sorry, I've been. I was. I'm a golfer. Now,
Oh that's how I do. I go loco. I don't
know how you guys do it. I really don't, and
I know you don't do it. Corey. Have you go
offt ever?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
But not like twenty five?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Yeah, right right, I don't know how. I don't know
how anybody has time. No, admittedly I'm nuts, but I
don't know how anybody has time. How long does it?
Does it always take five hours to play a golf game?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
No? It should not.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Well, I mean there's it's charity gulfs. There are a
million people out there.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
You know.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
I get to right, I got I was so honored
to be invited. I get to do that. That's cool, right,
it's fun. But I don't know how you have time.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, well I play in a few of them. They're fun.
You have fun when you're there.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah. Good people, man, Yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Had a lot of nice people. You meet a lot
of people, and it's not for you, it's for the
if I cancer man. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
How about Tom Pelisaro doing a live hit with Rich
Eisen from that very golf course.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
In his cart talking about the Miles Garrett development and
like how it came to be and how long they've
been talking. But there's Pelisaro on his golf cart.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah how about that? Yeah, because he's got he's.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Got work to do.

Speaker 7 (04:01):
Yeah, you know, I will not be participating as there's
no evidence that charity works.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Oh that's not necessarily.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Couldn't even get Brera to take my call. I was
on my golf card, like, I'll check in.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
What were we going to talk about?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
The Powership Morning Shows twenty fifth anniversary Terror Treasures?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
You know, he's got to be so happy that we're
That's the thing I came was to make it years.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
I think Gersey like nine text saying do you want
to do? You have me on today? Never responded, Oh yeah,
he was there with me. I didn't realize that he was, like,
quit texting me. I'm on whole twelve.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, so did you play all eighteen?

Speaker 4 (04:32):
We stopped with two to go because the lovely people
that I was with from the rock Elm Restaurant in
Lovely Plymouth, great people, great spot, great spot, great people,
good time for great eldies, they were like, you know what,
I think that'd be enough because it was eight o'clock
and we started it two, you know. And but it's

(04:56):
cool because like every hole has did you know this, Corey,
about these these things? They every hole has different people
giving you things like culvers. Was there like three different
holes with ice cream and askareem as I like to say,
and and and butterburgers. And then you had you had
this lovely lady. I'm making some brownies. They were so delicious.

(05:17):
She's from Plymouth as well. I need to give her
some love.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Well, then you see sauce as your town.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
How sweet it is is the is the bakery? How
sweet it is from Plymouth? And they had brownies and anyway,
the food and drinks on every big boar was there
with their delicious barbecue. I just don't think there's better
barbecue in White. So anyway, all this food and all
this golfin and talked to Randy for a long time,

(05:46):
saw our buddies from ninety three X there. I talked
to some people who used to work here who work
there now and and about you know, how people are
trying to kill our beloved radio and it's fun, but
it's cool. And Gergie gave me the knuckles and kept
on moving.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
How quickly did you hate the actual golf part of it,
not the event, not the people you were playing with,
but how far in were you were like, this is
not for me.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Right, here's the thing. The second hole we started on
a whole five. We were the second group on whole five.
That tells you how many people were golfing right, And
you know, it's testament to Randy. I think they've been
doing that since like ninety one or ninety six or
something like that. Can you imagine? And we're at Rush Creek,

(06:34):
which I lived walking distance from there for thirty years
and had never played a golf game on that place.
I've broken the law and jogged through there when I
used to run marathons. Abagaint and I used to wander
through there just to look around when she was young
because we were lawbreakers, were hillbillies. Yeah, so I never
played there. But so on the second hole for us,

(06:57):
which was whole six, my drive off the he was
a thing of beauty and we actually used it. And
I thought, this is easy.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
How is that even possible? And how bad are the
golfers that you're with?

Speaker 4 (07:09):
No, there were great golfers.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I just you know what I'm.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Saying, like when when I'm at top top golf and
I like every third or fourth swing, I really get
a hold of one and I feel good about it. Yeah,
and I'm like, crush that one. Everybody I'm with is
still hitting it better than that. I just crushed one,
but they still out crushed it.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
I don't think you understand the athlete that I am.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Everybody else go out of bounds. Yeah, yeah, there there
we go.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
They did, and it was have you you played there,
Rice Hussey? Yeah, there are that hole that I'm talking about.
The reason they use my ball is because there it was.
It was like it was like playing in Normandy. There
were craters and waters and holes, bunkers and and so
I got it on It was a part three I
think if I'm right, I think I'm saying that right anyway,

(07:55):
And I got it on the green and with the
shot and I was safe, so they used it. I
was like, well, son of a bitch, this is easy.
I proceeded to lose a ball per hole the next
five holes.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah, yeah, that was it. That sounds about. That's running
pretty hot. Only losing one.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
They brought me out some balls, sure, they radioed back
and some kids from the golf place.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
The pro shot, thank you, Well, how many did you bring?

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I didn't bring any?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
How many they'd get you? Originally, I think.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I originally had well, originally had none, and then I
had had seven in my bag, not even and I
knew when I signed yeah, so I was like, I
don't I don't know, man. Yeah, originally had none. Then
they brought me a few, and then I was like,
I'm going to need more nuts, so they radio back
and brought them out. They were great. Everybody rush quak
was great.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
By the way.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
That's one of the reasons why I stopped playing golf
when I was like eighteen, is it's expensive to buy
golf balls when you're putting them in the lake or
in the woods every other shot. You're like, I'm not
going to make it to the end of the round,
let alone reloaded a new set of golf balls every
time I play.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I can't afford this. Here's the expense to fass sport.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Here's what I realized though, And I got real worried
that I was going to need more balls. So I
kept an egle eye out for balls that people had
just left.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Oh yeah, to keep them in.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I kept them all, sure, kept them all. Yeah, yeah,
good for you.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Well, think about when Happy Gilmour jumps into the pond
to find his ball. Yeah, there's a couple of dozen
just sitting at the bottom of the pond.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, And I screwed them up.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Ones.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I screwed something up because Saucy was telling me that
Gersey told him that he got a sweet hammer Maid
thing and I must have like not done that.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Maybe one of those lay Yeah, maybe that was.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Maybe that's right, Maybe that's right, Maybe that's right, maybe right.
I don't know. So I screwed that part up because
I love hammer made stuff and I wanted something cool.
You know. I didn't get that, but I did get
some free Twins tickets, which would be cool, and I
drank some lovely uh uh Tito's lemonade.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Sounds like a hell of a day.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Yeah. I'm just not good at golf, and I don't
think I have time left on this planet to be
good at it.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, it's uh, it's like when uh Rosie joined a
country club and came in here and told comedy joined in,
Common laughed in his face and said, you're never going
to pick up golf and uh, and now he's on
the tour. Yeah, now Rosie plays on the tour.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Yeah, on the tour.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah, it's not even the seniors tour, no, just the
just the tour.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
But uh yeah, I'm glad you did it. I too
mad the experience.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
But yeah, Normal, you could play like like if Common
and I play on a Sunday and it's just the
two of us, you can play in like two forty five.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Wait a minute, hold on, you and Common meet up
to play golf together.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, they spend time together. Yeah yeah,
because Common like me, you'll play quick.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Common's playing right now, Common, I bet I'll play in
three hours.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
When's the last time you saw him outside this radio station.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
I've never seen any member of the Power Trip Morning
Show after nine o'clock I think in about ten years.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Except for when somebody here gets fired, which is about
every three weeks, right.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
So, but even then I don't see him because they
kind of like shoot you off in another room, and
then you have to like text them when they're and then.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
A lot the best of luck. Oh for sure, I
see him.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
They going away park.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Yeah, we gotta have one soon, right.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
So, like and then like once in a while, I'll
walk past you guys on the Vegas Strip going like
where you at it?

Speaker 1 (11:17):
This way? All right?

Speaker 3 (11:18):
See you later, and then I'll see at the broadcast
and then I'll you know, I'll see you like twenty.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I don't remember the last time I hung out with
anybody here from this station.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Why would I do that? I see you guys all
the time. Are you guys going to the Saints game
on Thursday?

Speaker 2 (11:30):
I cannot?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
I definitely because I love going to the Saints game. But
I have to go to the Chant has some dinner
there because I'm doing another walk on rolling.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Oh hell yeah, I have to learn my stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
You're doing Greece?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
No, it's guys in DALs?

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Which one are you playing?

Speaker 4 (11:44):
I'm playing one of the gals.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Oh good for you, man.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I think it's the role I was born to play.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yeah, hell yeah? How are you going?

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yes? Look at this? Yeah you are going.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
You're taking a little Louis.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Oh okay, tell them, I said, hi, please, I will.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yeah, we'll have fun.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
It seems afraid of me.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
You'd be proud of him. Corey. His favorite thing that
he owns is a Mario like kind of doll thing.
He loves that, he loves he looks forward every morning
and cookie Monster of course, of course, yes, yes, he's going. Yeah, calgo,
it'll be super fun. Okay, that's great.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
A lot of people from iHeartRadio going. I I would
love to go, but wow, my mistake. I booked something else.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
And that's all right.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Yeah, things every day, Yeah, every day.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I'm glad you did that though.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Thank you me too. I'm glad that it was a
good experience and I met some good people, Yes, some
good people. I saw a lot of people that I know.
I knew who they were, but I couldn't remember, so
I stayed away from them.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Sure, that's the smartest play instead of that awkward moment
where the other person starts to figure.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Out, oh they don't remember who I am.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah, So the best way to do is just never
talk to other people, or go outside at all.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Or pretend somebody is calling you.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Oh that's a good class.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yeah, that's a class.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
That's a hard Yeah for sure.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I wish there was a button on your phone that
you could hit that essentially faked a phone call, you know,
like the phone rings all thing.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Sorry, I got to take this, Yeah, I gotta go
this is this is the doctor.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Yeah, I just come up with.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
A billion dollar idea and app fake.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
You might have you might have done that. You might
want to dump that last bit, of course, we had
to dumpy yesterday.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah. Man, does that exist?

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
I've not heard of it Zacher Direct, though.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
I'm sure it does somewhere, and there's plenty of those apps.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Yeah, I mean there's an app to fake magic tricks.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
We learned, dude, thank you for saying that. I don't
even know what the hell that brought how you anyway?
I started listening to a podcast about Sigfried and Roy. Oh, yeah,
because that's an interesting story, you know. Yeah, damn man,
when that dude got drug off by the head lordie
they I mean that tiger grabbed him by his head

(14:16):
and neck and just drug him off the stage in
front of thousands of people.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Not no, not, I don't know that his best day
at work. I mean, he had better performances. Are either of.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Them still alive?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
No?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I believe they're both dead now, I believe. Let me see,
I don't know. I just started listening on the way
in and I.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Was like, oh, no, I mean we're gonna have to
cut open that tiger and see if he's in there.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Yeah, but then I don't want the old Sigfreed boyt
to roll out onto the stage. Is that what he says?

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Pretty close? Yeah, pretty close? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Yeah. Sigfried, Fischbacher and roy Horn. How boring is that
name compared to Sigfree fish Baker.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Yeah, that's a pretty significant step down.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Yes, y, Tiger accent happened in two thousand and three.
Sure do you remember the name of the tiger cor
but you.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Do something like malikor or Valacore stuff monta core Wow.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Yeah yeah he uh oh God suffered a stroke after
the attack. Uh, had his spine severed and lost a
large amount of blood, had permanent impairment to his motor
and verbal abilities, including paralysis of his left side of
his body, severed his spine. Tigers are good at killing.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, that's their job. That's what they are, that's what
they're created to do.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
I think if you are like the you work for
the Las Vegas Journal Review or something, and you're like,
all right, let's go check out what Sigfried and Royer doing.
Nobody's done a piece on them, and nobody reports, and
then Son of a bitch gets dragged off the stage
by his face.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
And you're like, I didn't care for the magic.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, I mean, how do you an honest review?

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
The show kind of sucked.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
I mean yeah, it kind of dragged tiger, almost made
his head disappear.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Does that count? Kind of got kind of lame in
the middle. The intermission was probably the best part.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Mandy, You know what I don't. I'm surprised this isn't
one of those incidents where incidents where every person you
talked to was there that day, you know what I mean, right,
But there are people who were there that day to
talk to them.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
It did take over the news world for a long time.
He was the main story for days and days and
days and days and days. Was a tiger attack, sig
Freed and Roy.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
I would hate to listen to this show the day
after this happened, because you know, we made fun of him.
It was in two thousand and three. Sure, we're just
terrible at radio back then, Oh sure, And you know
we just spent most of our time rooting for this
the tiger.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
I'm sure Star said something.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Yeah, yeah, we almost got thrown off from that monkey attack.
That lady we almost got thrown off the air.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Oh yeah, we really get a field day with that one.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
We were dumb. We should have done that.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yeah, you guys play that so much.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yeah yeah, pretty brutal.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, brutal anyway, Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Gutter helmet sauce, gutter helmet the best.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Uh, never clean your gutters again. Don't waste a weekend
on a ladder cleaning out your gutters. Go to gutterhelmet.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
MN dot com tons legitimately tons going on in the
world of sports. We'll get to it all between now
and nine o'clock. Fist is the Power Tripe morning show
on the Family.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Switch to Liberty Mutual and they'll customize your auto and
home insurance so you only pay for what you need. Okay,

(18:01):
Welcome back, everybody. It's the part of Mars show in
it is. It's Tuesday. Here we are Tuesday maybe seem
generally a lovely, loveling, talented.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Tuesday wrapping up for a ton of people, right if
you're not already done last week. Some private schools have
wrapped up in the last couple of weeks, but I
think public schools are mostly wrapping up this week.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, my kido's got four days to go.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Yeah, any big plans for the kiddo this summer? Is
she doing anything fun?

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Not off the top of my head.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
No, I mean we're doing normal stuff.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
We'll go to the horse track, go to the candy store,
the Dell's Valley Fair MLA, probably fifteen times.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yah.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Hey, don't you leave soon?

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Tomorrow, tomorrow after the show though. Oh yeah, so you're
going through through Monday, Monday. You're back Monday and back Tuesday.
Oh so, but but you'll probably be back Monday though.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I might be back in the Cities on Monday, but
I will definitely not be on the show on Monday.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Got okay?

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yeah, yeah, nope, Zacho hosting initials on Friday.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yeah yeah, Hey, sweet yeah, Daddy.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
You and I need to maybe think about what we're
gonna do on the show for the next few days
because then's not coming in Thursday either.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
All right, Yeah, what about Tommy? You got Tommy on
Thursday though, right? Who knows Tommy gets you to seven
to twenty.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Let me see if dot Com Tommy will come in.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Yeah, that'd be great.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Yeah, yeah, sure, we'll find out. There's always something to do.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
There's always so yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Yeah, there's always something to talk about.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Hey, how about sad news yesterday about Larry Fitzgerald Senior
dying age seventy one. A lot of us ran into
Larry a billion times in the last couple of decades,
basically every sporting event in the world, but specifically the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
That's where I saw him the most. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Yeah, I don't think I ever said more than three
or four words to him. I saw him a million times.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I feel the same way.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
I think that's almost exactly how I would have described it.
I said hi to him, he said hi to me,
but that was about it. But he was always there,
always working. Yeah, yeah, he was at everything. Yeah, he
said everything.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
You guys get emails from casinos all over America saying hey,
we miss you man.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
No, no, except for like the I know we're Laughlin.
I get that every once in a while. That's for
old people. Yeah, but I've signed up, like.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Yeah, he's a Caesar's member, so yeah, yeah, yeah right,
but they're gonna try to send you everywhere. Yeah, I
get gott I get I get it in the mail,
like plane tickets. Yeah, Hey, come on, man, you know
you want to come here. For free.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Come on, man, I got.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
A Calli's always reached.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I know I've said this a couple of times, but
I gotta really ramp this up in the next couple
of years. I got to start hitting non Vegas casino
trip just like Talking Stick in in Arizona, Borgata, in
Atlantic City, that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
I gotta start hitting the big one.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Yeah, were you invited the Talking Stick this past weekend?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (21:10):
No, I was.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
You know, it's the World's I think the world, but
America's biggest casino. No, not Talking Stick. What's the name
of the place down in Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Instead, that's it.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
I was invited to go down there. That's correct, all
expenses paid, trip down on down there.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
We all knew what it was.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Did you not accept? That's not good.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
I don't think the weekend works for me, that they
were gonna send me down there. But I just find
it interesting like that they think I'm going to spend
more than the cost of a flight and hotel.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
You know, you don't think they all know exactly what
the price of everyone's head is, and that is, they
know what the price of an average person's head is.
They have your card, they know what your average spin
rate is they know what you're worth.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yeah, and they know you will Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
They know once to get you there, and your flight
doesn't leave for two or three days, you're gonna gamble
what Yeah? Yeah, it's like give It's like giving sauce
a gym membership.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
I ain't going because it didn't have somebody walk up
to you and hand you an envelope, No, with an
invitation with your.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Name on it.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
No.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Interesting, is that something that happens?

Speaker 4 (22:28):
It does?

Speaker 1 (22:28):
What happened to that one thing you got invited to?
Are you still doing that?

Speaker 4 (22:31):
I decided not to do that, Okay, Yeah, I decided
what to do. I there's too many people getting having
butt problems, you know, I don't want to get sicky.
But oh, isn't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Well, there's that, and then the other bit about, uh,
the the one tournament you were going to be.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
In, you I know that was that was a couple
of weeks ago. I had to cancel that. That was
the same weekend when Zach go went in with the
NASCAR race, which was freaking awesome, thanks again to our start.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Yeah, what a trojan horse. I love that you play
slots like crazy.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
But they're like, how do we get him here?

Speaker 1 (23:06):
They don't have a slot tournament this week? What if
we do him to play blackjack?

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, he doesn't know how to play blackjack.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
We'll tell him he can win a billion dollars.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
He'll be out in run one video in our casino.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Hey, Chris, you want to be in a high stakes
blackjack tournament for free?

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Damn right?

Speaker 1 (23:24):
I doude, I got him, We got them.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
See.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Here's the thing, though, they could say, hey, you want
to come out here and try our wings. As long
as they're giving me a free hotel room and access
to a slot machine.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yes, are You're probably going to go hell?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Well again, who cares. It's the greatest city on earth.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Again.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
It's the greatest achievement in Western culture.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
And Corey, what am I going to do live forever?

Speaker 2 (23:44):
No?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
No, no, no, no, You're not Oasis? Yeah correct, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
I'm never going to be able to pay all these debts.
I might as well go have fun.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, start gambling, start cranking away, get after it.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Start. I like when we're all in the we're all
we're in this together.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah, I like when we all go Hi this.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
My name is Christens my brother and mother brother following
his mother brothers?

Speaker 1 (24:11):
How many?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
How many sports radio shows?

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Because it's got to be this has got to lean
heavily towards sports talk radio. How many sports shows across
the country are essentially just a group of white degenerate gamblers?

Speaker 1 (24:22):
I mean most of.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Them these days?

Speaker 8 (24:24):
I was gonna say that, I mean, that's is it
required to have a sports show to be like?

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Is it just a bunch of like, middle aged white
dudes who love to play the ponies.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
It'd be hard these days to to pretend you don't,
because every third commercial is.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, right, trips to Lafflinton.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
Everyone was. I mean, come on, we're everywhere.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
I got a Baurevage another guy, Yeah, you need help?

Speaker 4 (25:00):
He's the dude, right.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
No, Hey, you know this this is this is again.
This is the butterfly effect, And this is how weird
life is. Do you believe we can't give me a
give me a.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Glam rock hair metal guy.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
That you know we would make fun of you for loving,
but truly changed your life?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Give me? Is it the lead singer of Poison?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Maybe Brett Michaels is the great truly changed your life completely?

Speaker 8 (25:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Ride the wind Does. I heard that song, I was like, Yeah,
that's what I want to do. I want to I
want to chase the sun.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
So outside of my parents.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
And I would argue George Carlin and Conan O'Brien because
those two shaped a lot of the ways that I
look at the world and how I think of comedy
and things like that. Right, I could argue the man
who changed my life the most is Chris Moneymaker. Yeah,
a random accountant I think from like Arkansas who won

(25:59):
the World's Here as a poet in two thousand and three.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Sure, right, so that guy.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Changed my life.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Isn't that nuts?

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Like I've said in the past that you know, Matt
Damon and Rounders did as well. When I watched that movie,
it was like, well, that's what I want to do
for the rest of my life. But you just never know.
Some random guy gets into a poker tournament and wins it,
and now that's all I've been doing for the last
twenty five years. But you know what I'm saying, Like,
it's not just about oh, we're degenerate gamblers.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
I legitimately love it.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I love every aspect of playing cards, the competitiveness, the
making huge decisions with incomplete information. So the money, like
it's just fun, the adrenaline, it's all of it together
a metaphor for like hit button.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Let me ask you a question about that core if
you don't mind, So you never leave there ever going.
I should stop doing this, but I'm not sure that
I can't.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
No, because that's no offense.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
That's the difference for a friend.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
That's the difference between my kind of poker quote career
in slots is in tournaments, I always know exactly what
I'm paying to enter, right, so it's not like it's
not like somebody has to pull me away from the table.
I have to leave the table when the chips are gone.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
So you never you never sit at the table and
then like you look at the clock and you and
the show started two hours ago.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Nope, okay, nope, that has never happened to me.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
You never go to a casino for a paid appearance
that all of a sudden it's two way out.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
That's never happened. That has never happened.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
You never like like when like you know, at the
you're like you're like, wow, man, I've I won five
thousand dollars. This is the greatest hand in my life
and then three hours later, you're going to the ATM. Nope, okay, nope,
just asking for friends.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I sent a couple of kids to the ATM like
two weeks ago, playing cards like college kids, and I'm like, man,
this is full circle because I remember being that age
and having older, better players just roast me. So my
wife was like, don't you feel bad? These are like
college kids that had to go to.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
The A team.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
I'm like, no, circle of life, learn circle of life,
you know, drop them off at the seen. I was
begging them to keep going back. I'm sure your limits
not hit, keep going, but this can.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I ask another question? Yes, sir, you ever sat the
Caesar's food court because your limit was too hot?

Speaker 3 (28:13):
It was your hang on ETM limit. I've steak fries
and Shark Week was a thing, right Yeah, the world
the worst world series of poker I've ever had was
the most depressing, like five days of poker I've ever played.
That was depressing. That wasn't I can't stop. That was
just how do I get out of this town?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
I hate this.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
I don't ever want to do this again.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
See that's what that's the point, That's what I was
wondering like that. So you have had that moment.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Well, yeah, when nothing is going your way and it
doesn't matter what you do and the money's just flying
out your your wallet, Yeah, it sucks, but it's never
been to the point of like addiction.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
It's just so you don't.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Yeah, okay, so you don't get trips to MOTLT.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
No, but man, that was that was.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
The That was my glimpse again, my five day glimpse
at what being a professional gambler is. And I don't
have the stomach for it, is right, I can't do it.
Because that was that was a free fall for five
straight days. And remember, if you guys remember the story,
I ubered to the airport trying to get on any
flight to get out and standby was almost twenty four hours.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
And I'm like, because everybody else was doing.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
The same thing.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
So that uber back to the Rio, which is a dump.
I hate that casino, but I got it for free
from our guy. So that uber back to the Rio,
and I knew I had to spend twenty four hours
more in that town. Was like twenty four I was prison, right,
I just want to leave.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Can I drive home faster? How do I get out
of here.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Very different than what you've experienced when it comes to blackouts.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
I've been blacked out.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
We're going to reenact something. You got to play along. Okay,
answer the phone before Okay, Hello, Hi, is this the
Sigfreed and Roy Residents.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yes it is.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
My name's Corey Kova is Melkor.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I think you're the one that remembers that name, sir. Yes,
he I'll go get him. Hold on, no, no, I'll
be right over. Makes have you fed him this morning? Yeah?
He's all set.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Damn it. Okay, when's he eat again?

Speaker 1 (30:20):
About five minutes? He eats every ten minutes.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
I'll be right over.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
All right, there's a line.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Even the fact that there was a line at the
sports book to get steak fries pissed me off. I
was so mad about being in that town. You know,
it's all the free fall sucks.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
But you know, and being serious about this for a moment,
you guys, describe my night staring the devil down right
where I became aware of the possibilities here. And there
is a moment and maybe that was your moment that
maybe not, because I don't know, but but for me,
that night was the moment where I'm like, if I
turn left here, my life goes in a bad direction.

(31:00):
I'd better turn right, you know what I mean. Sure,
and it's good to know that, right, it's good that
I didn't turn left that night.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yeah right, I'll close for you though.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Down five steps down there.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Yeah, well, my dms dry no that that my day
free fall for me was my reminder, even though I
already knew it, that I don't have the stomach to
be a full time professional gambler like some of my
friends are.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
I just can't do it.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I have to have stability and then gamble responsibly as
often as I want to. But I can't have it
to be my entire livelihood. It's just I don't have
the stomach for it. I have the stomach for it.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Yeah, and believe or not, you guys might believe this.
I get tired of it from time to time. Sure,
I'm like, h yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Imagine imagine being required to keep going because that's your income.
Yeah yeah, you can't take super super long breaks. You
can take breaks, but.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
I can't imagine the time of having to pay your
red based on whether or not you win or not.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
I can't imagine I can't imagine, but it's the best.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
The best.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
It sounds like it responsibly, it's the best. The train
slot machine.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Yeah, if you're if you're the kind of person who
can drink and not have an alcohol problems, exactly, if
you're the person that can, Heroine.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Gets I think everybody gets addicted to you know my point?

Speaker 3 (32:10):
All right, A million things to discussed when we talk sports.
In a second front page sports after this on the fan.

Speaker 7 (32:18):

Speaker 1 (32:39):
You don't care.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
So before the show, I began the long process of
reloading in Mel Gibson's rant, and it's gonna take me
days because he cusses so much. What the best part
about it, and it's the whole thing's terrible. Don't get
me wrong. He's an abusive bastard, right, we all know that.

(33:01):
But she knows she's recording and he does not, So
she's like, but I don't understand why you're so angry.
He's so out of control. But she's like, please, sir,
calm down because she knows she's recording. What my god
angry to her? Oh my god? Oh you should just

(33:23):
yea you wait, you wait until I see you.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Play a concert where you get you make me want
to smoke.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Oh yeah, I'm gonna get it all. It's gonna take
me a couple of days. I'm going to get it
all because it's it's still. I mean that bit we
did with with Star and Hockey Duty, Hockey Duty good.
He's on the phone with him.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Put down the smoke. Yeah, well, don't take any pills,
put the gun down.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
Good stuff. Anyway, had that air just now because we
were listening to him to tell her that she should
just smile and take care of concert.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
I don't I don't know how that impacts any of
your days.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
I don't know why that was even remotely relevant, but uh,
I'm going to stop there on the way home.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
I am physically uncomfortable if I don't have about a
half of take a gas.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Really.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Yeah, that's one of my things. I don't know. I
don't know why, but it's one of those things I
have about. It's like, yeah, you guys with with your
weird food eating things. For me, if I'm below a
half a tank, I start getting itchy, which is tough
on motorcycle because you're almost always under half cheer.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Yeah, and you're Richie. Problem is something else.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Yeah, you're probably right now you say that.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Miles Garrett traded from the Cleveland Browns of the Los
Angeles Rams of Anaheim for Jared Verse, a twenty twenty
seven first rounder and more. The Browns have said multiple
times that they really had no interest in trading Miles Garrett,
and then they did. Yeah, Jared versus twenty five. He
was the nineteenth overall pick. Just a couple of years ago.
He was a defensive Rookie of the Year, a couple

(35:27):
of Pro Bowls, even though everybody makes the Pro Bowl,
and now Mandy he's a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Very good Jared Verse.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
But Miles Garrett's one of the best defensive players of
all time and still in his prime. He's thirty. He's like,
he's not thirty seven. He's thirty years old. Two time
Defensive Player of the Year, including last year when he
broke the NFL record with twenty three sacks.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, he's He's an absolute game changer. He's probably one
of the best players in the league. He's outstanding at
what he does. He gets to the quarterback obviously twenty
three times. Last season, they are they are going for broke.
It is Super Bowl or bust for this team. Their
odds went up like two hundred points. I think they
were minus eight fifty. Now they're like minus six fifty.

(36:09):
Just in that in that trade. This is uh say
that again. They went they were yesterday on excuse me
yesterday on NFL Live. They said that before the trade
they were minus eight hundred or eight fifty. Now they're
I mean plus eight fifty plus eight fifty. Yes, sorry,
they are plus eight fifty. Now they're like plus eight
or like plus six fifty. They went up two hundred

(36:31):
points to what to win the Super Bowl. They're six
to one to win the Super Bowl. I'm pretty sure. Yeah,
that's what they say.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
That seems low as hell. That's nuts.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
They have to If that's the case, they're one of
the two or three favorites, then oh for sure.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Yeah damn.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
I mean they're loaded.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
This is a loaded team, and they they've drafted so
well that they can trade a guy like Jared Verse
for a better player. Jared Versus a great player, and
he's cheaper obviously, but yeah, they are such a well
run machine that they can take their good players and
trade them for great players. DraftKings has them at four

(37:14):
to one. Wow, that's insane. That's way too low.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
So I guess they didn't waste the year by drafting
a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Well.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
The other thing though, is like I would assume why
this trade didn't happen before the draft or around the
draft is because they wanted to be able to break
that contract up. Cleveland didn't want to. There's the bit
like why AJ Brown was traded is so you can
spread that money out over two years. I would guess

(37:44):
that's the same thing Cleveland wanted to do, because if
you're the Rams, you would have gladly traded them the
thirteenth pick and kept Jair Adverse. You would have traded
them two ones and everything else and kept Jair Adverse.
But I bet they didn't want to do it until now.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
But they also needed a quarterback because if giving up
your twenty twenty seven first rounder, yeah, you're basically saying
we got to get our future quarterback now because we're
going to give up draft capital to go get somebody
like Miles Garrett.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
So they have.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Ty Simpson to better work out because they just kind
of went all in again, right, But if you're the favorites,
then you have now the best defensive player in the
league on your team.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Pretty crazy, unbelievable the Rams, yaikes, Well, best of luck
to them.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
That was the biggest trade of today, the.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
One that we talked about yesterday because we all thought
it was coming, and it eventually did. The Eagles did
trade wide receiver AJ Brown to New England for a
twenty twenty eight first rounder and a twenty twenty seventh
fifth man.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
That's a lot. That's a lot for Aj Brown I'm
shocked they I'm shocked they got a first round pick
for him.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Yeah, I mean crazy productive though. How about this, you
guys can try this little trivia question out you guys
like sports, right, Yes, here's the company that aj Brown
is in to start a career, including the playoffs. He
is one of seven wide receivers to have over eighty
five hundred yards and sixty touchdown catches in his first

(39:08):
seven seasons. Just seven people have ever done that. He's
one of them. Name the other six. Moss that's one, Rice,
that's two, Larry fitz fitz Junior, that's three, Marvin Harris.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Marvin Harrison is four.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Very good.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
We're forgetting somebody obvious, aren't we? Probably like in Dallas
Cowoi Michael Irvin.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
Nope, ceede lamb. No, he hasn't played long enough. Can
I give you a hint?

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Yeah, one is technically still playing. One recently I believe
went into.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
The Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
I think I think the other one just recently went in,
like maybe even last year.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Well we were there, Hawk who was it?

Speaker 4 (40:03):
I remember we were wasted?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Yeah we were.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Hm hm.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
One.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
The one that's currently playing, I'm pretty sure is still
a free agent.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
I don't think he signed anywhere.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
It's not stuff on Diggs. How what is the guy's name?
Because what we were talking about whether or not'd be
good for this team or not.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Oh, madam.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Not the best dude when it comes to women.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Zach is his name? Stair with a horror? No, please
help me, just.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Tell us Tyreek Hills, Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
And then the other one was a long time NFC
North guy.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
Uh oh, you almost just said it.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Megatron, Yeah, Megatron. Calvin Johnson, Yeah, forget about that game. Yeah,
he was so good.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
How about this for a weird stat too.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
So A J.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Brown's going to the Patriots. By the way, the Vikings
do go to AJ Brown and the Patriots Thursday, December tenth. Yeah,
so that does impact us a little bit.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
We play A J. Brown this year, the.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Patriots are going to be This is I just can't
believe this has never happened before. The Patriots are the
first team in NFL history to begin a season with
four straight games against playoff teams.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
After going to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
So no Super Bowl team because they obviously lost in
the Super Bowl, has ever opened up with four teams
that just were in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Doesn't that seem like that would have happened by now.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
Almost. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
They play Seattle to open the season, then Pittsburgh, Jacksonville,
and then Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
That's never happened before. That's tough, the tough start.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Yeah, that is, especially on the road on a Wednesday
night in Seattle. That'll be great. That's ninety nine days
from today, not that I'm keeping track. Yea, yeah, that'll
be outstanding. What are you gonna do for the next
ninety nine days? Raise makittle, play some golf, probably rip Rosie, Yeah,

(42:24):
Rosie relaxed, please, probably get emails to go to Laughlin.

Speaker 3 (42:29):
Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley will have his introductory press
conference tomorrow at ten a m.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
Yeah, man, can't wait.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
Assume it's going to air on this station. I s,
oh yeah, oh yeah, that'll be great.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Yeah, that'll be good. And then PA said, yesterday's going
to have a one on one with them. I think
next week.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yeah, that'll be outstanding.

Speaker 3 (42:50):
It's a good reminder, though, before the year the press
conference that the quote winning the press conference is absolutely irrelevant,
right because think of how badly Nick Sirianni bombed the
press conferences coach, he's done great. Dan Campbell bombed it,
bombed great. I would argue Quazy nailed it, nailed it right,
killed it. So just a quick reminder that tomorrow, whether

(43:13):
he seems nice or not as important, like let's let's
hope he's a good dude, but whether or not he
seems like, oh man, this guy is the guy, or
oh jeez, this guy sounds like an idiot. It doesn't
matter the introductory press conferences. It's just it's just a
vibe check. Yeah, but he doesn't indicate success in any way.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
It doesn't're right exactly, but it does indicate what's going
to happen over the next two months in the media
in your town, and that that is problematic sometimes.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
Sure you think of the heat Nick Sirianni and Dan Campbell.

Speaker 4 (43:41):
Cap I thought he was a fool.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
I thought they should have fired.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Him before the season started, going to bite knee caps.
It's like, who the hell did they just hire?

Speaker 1 (43:51):
This isn't going to work.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Everybody loves Dan Campbellyeah, he's great.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
People Uh, Mike Tyson, they called him Jeffrey Dahmer. Yeah, yeah,
he's gonna eat people's knees.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
And I would have sworn Nick Siriann he had never
seen the game of football. The way he was answering
questions camera right, he looked lost, He looked scared.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
And lost, and they were like, so what kind offense
do you have?

Speaker 1 (44:14):
But now can you use in the sense? I mean
just honestly, he.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Was shell shocked, and you're like, that's the guy you hired.
Shell shock good term, and he's been fine ever since.
Not used enough, I mean, not a good thing, you know, No,
not a good thing. Yeah right, it's a term that
they kind of moved on from. Yep, it's a our
generation had it perpetuated by the teenage Ninja Turtles, which

(44:38):
definitely said shell shocked frequently. Yes, but yeah it's a
little heavier than that. Yeah, oh yeah, but we learned
about it. This got a whole bit on it, right, Yeah,
all right, more of what really matters when we come back.
We got a whole bunch of scores, a whole bunch
of stats. We're gonna learned something. Yeah, we'll learn something.
Marty will be here in thirty eight minutes. This is
the Power Trip Morning Shoe on the Fan search.

Speaker 9 (45:01):
The re Nice Stubs Tennis podcast on iHeartRadio, America's number
one polledcast network and the Whip.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
All right, all right, shall.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
We we should?

Speaker 6 (45:13):
That's what really matters.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
But what really matters brought to you by Ovo, Lacy
can Lenz, scores and stats around the world of sports,
and Crystal change your life with something else that has
nothing to do with professional amateur athletics.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
And it's brought to you by.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
My friends at OVO, doctor Mark Lobanof and doctor David Whiting.
Go get laysick. Hell yeah, man, like as quickly as possible,
go do it. Like, not right now, they're not open.
It's six twenty eight in the morning, but like, reach
out to them and then go get lay sick.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Yeah, probably email, Yeah, go to the website. You get it? Thanks?

Speaker 4 (45:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Ovo.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
The Twins won nine to six over the White Sox.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
Joe Ryan's six innings, eight hits, four runs, nine strikeouts,
two home runs. Look it up on your phone. Tristan
Gray apparently plays for US and he hit his second
Grand Slam of the season his fourth home run of
the year. Snap Day five game losing streak, same two teams. Tonight,
Twins are just a game and a half out of
the wildcard spot. Wow, that's how bad the al is.

(46:08):
You can be, what twenty eight and thirty three and.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
Only a game and a half out of the wildcard hidious.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
What really matters, though, is this, Okay, here we go.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
On this date, in what year do you believe, gentlemen,
that the Babe Ruth, one of the greatest baseball players
in history, ended his major league playing career? Oh?

Speaker 3 (46:32):
Good one, I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
To get again. Is it before or it's gotta be before.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
World War Two? Right? Yeah, I'll say thirty five. I'll
go thirty.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
Seven, thirty five, it was you nailed it. Do you
have any seasons he played?

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Let's go twenty, Yeah, that'd be my guess.

Speaker 4 (47:00):
Fifteen, twenty two, twenty two. Do you know how many
World Series he played in? Four, twelve, seven, ten, ten
World Series? That's a lot, it is so twenty two seasons,
ten World Series, seven hundred and fourteen home runs, twenty

(47:22):
two seasons, A long damn time.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
Yeah, that is a long that's a lot of baseball, Yeah,
a ton of baseball.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
Hall of Fame basketball coach Rick Adelman died at the
age of seventy nine.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
He's the father of Nuggets.

Speaker 3 (47:33):
Coach David Adalman, and of course he was the Wolves
coach for the last three years of his head coaching
NBA career. He coached the Wolves from twenty and eleven
through twenty fourteen. Hall of Fame Class of twenty twenty one.
Also played in the NBA, I think for like seven seasons,
but the tenth most wins as an NBA head coach
in NBA history one thousand and forty two.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
Rick Adelman. Yeah sucks, Yeah, yeah, sucks. What do you
do that? Yeah? When they brought him in, it was like, Okay,
the Wolves could hire, Like, wasn't that right?

Speaker 2 (48:05):
At It was like professionalism.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
It felt like we needed a stable, veteran, an older
coach to stop the nonsense. Yes, because let's slow this down.
Who was the Laker guy they hired Kurt Rambis? Wasn't
it right after Rambus?

Speaker 1 (48:20):
I mean maybe he was in that mix somewhere in
that raunw they so was it Kurt Bills? No? What
really matters though, is that and this.

Speaker 4 (48:30):
George Herman Ruth was born on February sixth of eighteen
ninety five into a poor family in Baltimore. He made
his Major League debut as a left handed pitcher with
the Red Sox in nineteen fourteen, and pitched eighty nine
winning games for that team before nineteen twenty, when he
was traded to the New York Yankees. In New York,

(48:50):
his primary position changed to outfielder. He led the Yankees
to seven American League penants and four World Series victories.
His final season was nineteen eight and thirty. It was
not with the Yankees, but not with the Orioles. Do
you know who? His final season is played with.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
The Rockford Peaches. That's that's not a bad the Savannah Bananas.
But is it a trick question? Is it not a
Major League Baseball team? Or is it?

Speaker 4 (49:17):
It is but is not in the same city. I
did not know this till this morning.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Somebody moved, give us if you give if you give
us the team, could we guess what city they were
previously in.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
That's a good question. I don't know if you could have,
so I'll give you the team.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
It's the Braves Milwaukee Milwaukee, no Kansas City, no.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
Phoenix, no Philly. They were the Boston Braves, Boston Braids.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
He joined the Braves with the hope that he'd become
the team's manager, but the dream never came to pass
because he was of his excessive drinking, gambling, and womanizing.
Put your hand, this will never be a big league manager.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Yeah, you'll never play for the Boston Braves.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
The Stanley Cup Finals starts tonight, Vegas at Carolina, Game one.
Carolina solid favorites, which is strange because check this out.
This is a hell of a stat We've hinted at
something like this over the last couple of weeks, but
I just saw the actual numbers this morning.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
So we all know.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Vegas has been hot, right, That's why they're in the finals.
Since John Tortorella took over, they have played twenty four
games regular season and postseason twenty four. How many have
they won out of twenty four twenty Zach.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Oh Man, I have probably, yeah, probably like eighteen seventeen.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
I was gonna say nineteen.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Chris gott it, he knows hockey. I believe they finished
the regular season seven to zho to one.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
So their record under Tortorella is nineteen four and one
and they're underdogs.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Think about that. So unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
I know Carolina is what twelve and one in the
postseason and basically having the best postseason start in the
last zactly like you said, what forty.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Fifty years right there?

Speaker 2 (51:23):
On fire?

Speaker 1 (51:25):
But so is Vegas.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Vegas swept Colorado and they are nineteen four and one,
so both of these teams are absolutely on fire right now.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
That's an easy, easy value bet if you're in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
To take Vegas one bet the dog because they.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
And their goaltending is solid.

Speaker 6 (51:43):
Carter Heart's been incredible, so I yeah, I mean, that's
that's gonna be a fun, fun series. Like we said,
good good hockey on both sides and can't wait.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
And not that it matters because I believe the games
were a long time ago. But Vegas is two and
zero against Carolina this season. M wow, I think those guys,
I think, I literally think those games might have been
like in October or November, like I think it was
the beginning of the season.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
But still things change. But uh why not? Yeah? The
more they say this, why not?

Speaker 2 (52:14):
What really matters though?

Speaker 1 (52:15):
Is this?

Speaker 4 (52:17):
Mm hmmm. The Sultan of Swats career slugging percentage remains
the highest in Major League Baseball history even today. Do
you know what the Sultan of Swats career slugger percentage was?

Speaker 1 (52:33):
No, because I'm bad at that seven. I don't really
get close.

Speaker 4 (52:37):
Six ninety six ninety nice yeah, nice, nice? Six Now,
I mean come on, man, they always say, what if
you hit it three out of ten times, then.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
That's bad average?

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Whatever?

Speaker 5 (52:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (52:49):
No, I mean yeah, seven hundred average would be would
be not just steroids.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
No, you'd be the greatest hitter of all time.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
What is?

Speaker 1 (52:58):
What is slugging percent batting average and on base percentage?

Speaker 3 (53:05):
Worst bonus? When we need him, he's in like Brussels.
He's the muscles from Brussels.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
He's with JCBD. I believe so.

Speaker 6 (53:11):
Slugging percentage is a baseball statistic that measures that player's
power by calculating the total number of bases a better
records per official at bat.

Speaker 4 (53:20):
Okay, I don't know what you just seen.

Speaker 6 (53:22):
In mind, multiply each type of hit by its corresponding
base value and add them together and then divide by
total number of at bats.

Speaker 1 (53:30):
It's that easy, right.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
So he gets point seven bases per at bat.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
Damn, that's pretty good. He made it all the way
to the third base. Yeah, man, no, he almost made
it to first base. Oh oh, I thought one was like.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
Always no if he if he was averaging almost a
triple a game or I mean and at that, that
would be the greatest thing that the world has ever seen.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
Yes, so he almost vergeda base. Yeah right, bad slap
at the base, slapping the bass my turn, yeah, daddy.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Uh. Serena Williams announced her comeback to professional tennis. She
hasn't played professional tennis in nearly four years, and she's
forty four years old.

Speaker 4 (54:16):
I've not played professional tennis in ten about four years.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Either, for sure.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
So she will make her return at the HSBC Championships
in London as a doubles player.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
But she's back.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Good for her. But what really matters is this.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
Favor died of throat cancer at the age of fifty
three ess in August of nineteen forty eight. His body
lay in state at Yankee Stadium for two days.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
Gross chewing tobacco City games, some kind of yeah. Exactly
was it self inflicted or was it just a bad
deal of the deck?

Speaker 1 (54:52):
I wonder.

Speaker 4 (54:52):
I don't know, but I would guess smoking chewing.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
Yep, right right?

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Maybe?

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Uh, you know yep.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
Because he was a woman knized sure, you're on camera.
I didn't do anything, but I thought about it.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
Yeah, you thought about it.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
The NBA Finals starts tomorrow in San Antonio, Texas, the
New York Knicks against the San Antonio Spurs game one
Wednesday at seven thirty. DraftKings has the Spurs as a
five and a half point favorite. New York did win
two out of the three in the regular season and
the NBA Cup against the Spurs, and the Knicks have
won eleven straight games. Wow, but the Spurs are heavy

(55:30):
favorites in the series.

Speaker 1 (55:33):
Yeah, something's got to give. That'll be fun to watch.
Les can't wait. Go Yeah San Antonio. Yeah, that was interesting.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I was trying to talk my dad into hedging, and
so far he's holding out.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Good for him. He likes the gamble.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
I was sucking sausage dad into edging.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Hedging?

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Yes, yes, what do you do? Accepted?

Speaker 4 (55:54):
He's just not good at it. Do Oh he's not. Yeah,
he's like, you know, the kid that wants to wants
the ice cream. I don't even know what.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
I mean. I don't know exactly what you meant by that,
but it works.

Speaker 1 (56:11):
He's like the kid that wants the ice cream. I guess.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Title of the podcast, The kid who Wants the ice Cream? Okay,
more of what really matters after this marning in twenty minutes.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
It's the power trom when you show on the.

Speaker 7 (56:25):
Band from the one eight hundred ask Gary Traffic Center.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
I'll tell you something, Corey. This is way in the weeds,
but can't tell you anyways.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
Go on.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
So I wrote a song called get to Buy Myself.
Nobody owns it been me. I'm the only person that
wrote it. Every single word, it's all me, right, So
I take it from us nothing to something, and then
Matt Kirk, well, it helps me finish it, and we
finish it and then I send it on into the world.

(57:08):
I own it nobody, but I don't have a publisher
on a record deal. It's mine. I own it.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
It's me.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
I created, it's mine. So we were getting pinged on
YouTube saying we couldn't use it on the radio show
a song that I wrote that I own, right, and
I'm like, what the hell? So Zacho finds out it's
Catapult that is pinging me.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
Now.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Catapult is the company I use to take it from
me to send it out to Apple and Spotify and
YouTube and all these companies. Right, they're the ones pinging
it now. I didn't ask them to do that. There's
nothing in the contract that I signed saying that you
can do this. So what that tells me is they're
making money off of my song somehow without me knowing it.

(57:49):
A company that I use literally as the semi trailer
from the farm to the grocery store, the semi trailer
is found a way to make money off of my song.
And because the semi trailer has done that, I can't
use my song on my radio show that I wrote.
People are companies suck. They're killing the music industry. Live Nation, iHeartRadio, YouTube,

(58:17):
Live Nation, Ticketmaster. All I want is for my song
to be heard by people. I want every YouTube station,
every Spotify, every person to have access to my song,
because all I really care about is for my song
to be heard. Right, But because of people like Catapult,
who I don't even know how they figured out how

(58:37):
they could make money off of my song, I pay
them to distribute it, not to make money after it's
been distributed. And I didn't even know that was an
option until this happened, and there's no idea would have
known this is happening until he found out this is happening.
The normal Joey Wright songs is never going to know
that the Catapult is making money off their songs. It's
just unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
There's nothing we can do.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
We can't like reach out to them and say, hey, dumbasses,
this is our show.

Speaker 4 (59:03):
I know he's trying. Was it the same thing with
Rocket Club's why I had to stop playing my song
at the end of the other song that I wrote?
And I thought, well, maybe it's because I don't I'm
not the sole owner of the copyright. I am the
sole owner of the copyright. They're telling me I can't
use my song.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
That's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (59:22):
I just it's just so underhanded, all of it.

Speaker 3 (59:25):
It's so underhanded that well, I think the only play
to get out of this messin is to play sax
Boy Billy's Puerto Rico song to start and end every show.

Speaker 4 (59:34):
Now, every song we're not allowed to play that.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
You can't prove that kicks ass. I know I have
an idea. No, Luke Bryan's new song, yes sir? What
about Wheeler Walker's Yes dang it, that was funny. Yeah,
I sent that the sauce.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Yesterday, Wheeler Walker did his own take on the Luke
Bryan Oh god, we should show you during the break
if you.

Speaker 4 (59:54):
Imagine the direction he got when he heard that song.
Oh because he knew it.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
And Luke Bryan commented on Wheeler Walker's post just like
I leave.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Yeah, like he and I said his sauce.

Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
I go. I hope Luke Bryan leans into this because
if he throws a tantrum, it's over. You have to
basically say, all right, you guys are right, the song sucks.
I tried, it didn't work. You gotta if you don't
laugh at yourself here, it's over because the internet is
laughing at you saying this song is trash. You gotta
just take it on the chin and go whoop sees. Sorry, daddy,

(01:00:28):
I thought you wanted to wake up and coffee and
camo and climb golf.

Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
No, it's incredible, though, guys, it's it is Luke obviously.
I mean, there's two writers on that song. Neither of
them are Luke Bryan. It's Matt Dregstrom and Chase McGill.
There are the two writers on that song.

Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
Sure, so they're trying to remove themselves from that pretty quickly.

Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
Had Well, that's the thing. But I think part of
the reason that that Luke candling into it's because he
didn't write the song. But the other side of that is,
I gotta believe they're probably that song is probably a
huge hit. I bet it's a huge hit.

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
Well, it's getting tons of potension.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
I mean, it's it's all over the internet because they're
tearing it apart.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
But again, I think there's a good way out of this.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
If you're Luke, to make yourself even more endearing, just
go like, yeah, all right, whatever, play it sarcastical.

Speaker 4 (01:01:24):
Yeah right, yeah, And I think he has self wearre
enough to do that. I do. Yeah. It is a
It's top twenty five hit right now.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
No good for them.

Speaker 8 (01:01:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
I wonder if Asburg likes it. I mean, I.

Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
Wonder if that's the program director at Kimino two likes it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
I wonder if Catapult likes it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:46):
It's Tuesday, isn't it? It is?

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Some of the top YouTube comments Luke's next single, Bleep
Shower Shave.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
More of what really matters?

Speaker 3 (01:02:02):
Here we go, ready, yeah ahead, please let's see here
what haven't we talked about? Russell Wilson is set to
join CBS Sports as an analyst. Now, he didn't officially
say he's retiring, so some people think he might just
be quote pausing to see if he gets another opportunity,
but for now joining CBS. A lot of people saying

(01:02:24):
he hadn't offer to join the Jets to back up
Gino Smith, But what if the money's comparable?

Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Yeah, and this is his future.

Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
Path and why not start the future if another good
opportunity doesn't open up?

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
You guys like sports?

Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
I love them trivia? Yes, man, so much, dude, I
love sports trivia the most.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Since Russell Wilson debuted in twenty twelve, Ben leberheads, no, wow.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
He's been unlimited.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Since twenty twelve, four quarterbacks have thrown for three hundred
and four forty nine touchdowns or more. Four of them
named the four. Since what year? Twenty twelve? Four quarterbacks
have thrown for three hundred and forty nine touchdowns or more.

(01:03:14):
Brady Brady is the one that threw for three forty nine.
So even though he hasn't played in a handful of years, now,
he's at fourth with three forty nine.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Who are the three higher Rogers.

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
Aaron Rodgers is the most with three hundred and ninety five.

Speaker 10 (01:03:34):
Patrick Mahomes Nope, Josh no Kirk, Nope, we're being silly.

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Over Stafford three sixty three is second, and the third
one should be ridiculously obvious, Russell Wilson. That's why I
brought up Russell Wilson three fifty three, so that the
top four in the last fourteen years Rogers won Stafford
to Wilson three, Brady four m.

Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
I mean, the guy's a first ballot Hall of Famer.
He's a no brainer. He's annoying his hell and he
throw the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
He has two Super Bowls. They don't they hand the
ball off. He has two Super Bowls not throwing.

Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
It hasn't even remotely worked since he went to Denver
or Pittsburgh or New York the Giants. But with Seattle
he was a you know, absolute king.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
He killed it there. It was awesome. And have it
go for full circle. I think I read over the
weekend that our new GM was one of the guys
that started the idea to trade Russell Wilson when they did,
because they got a ton for him.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
They didn't and maybe they saw the train coming to
the end of the tracks.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Good call.

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
What really matters, though, is this thank you he compliments.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
I was actually said good call on I was complimenting nolan'
tasily for potentially seeing in the train at the end
of the tracks.

Speaker 6 (01:04:59):
Sorry, I saw us didn't see the train at the
end of the tracks. And that's sat a hand. Yeah
did you die?

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
You wanted to see more trains? Oh? Yeah, and I
paid to play. It didn't work. But guess what, Hawk,
it's just holding my money. Yeah, you'll get it back.

Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
What really matters is this hawk's been in a train.

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Why do you It's true?

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
He also didn't see the end of the track, So no.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
I got blinded. Hi my eye Himingway inscribed a copy
of the greatest book ever written, The Old Man in
the Seae to his Mayo Clinic nurse, sixteen days before
his death. The book sat on a Minnesota convent's shelf
for sixty years before being notated and donated to the
Nobel Prize Museum in twenty twenty six. How about that,

(01:05:45):
no kidding? Yeah, on the shelf for sixteen right, they're
done there in Rochester. I sat there on the shelf
for sixty years and then somebody's like, hey, look at here,
and it said some terrible, terrible things. I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
That'd be a fun thing to do.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Remember how that that that guy that that buried treasure
and then left all those clues. Dude, he wrote some
book and then everybody was trying to figure out where
his treasure.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Was for years.

Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
It'd be cool to bury a whole bunch of money
or something valuable and then write a whole bunch of
clues or a bunch of notes in a book and
then just donate the book to like some random half
priced books or a store, and just see how long
it takes somebody to find that book, read that book,
and actually go get the treasure. It might be lifetimes,

(01:06:33):
or it might be never because the book just.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Gets thrown away.

Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
Yeah, because it's probably something like when will be Jesus
Bring the Pork Chops? By George Carlinok, And if you
don't read it, and if I don't read it, who's
going to read it? Great book though, Yeah, great book,
And it's a great question, When will Jesus Bring the
Pork Chops?

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
Right, Martie, I've been wondering that.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
Everybody wonders that what was the other one?

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
Napalm and silly putty brained beings, all of it great,
that's all great.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Here's what I had them all.

Speaker 4 (01:07:03):
Here's what Hemingway wrote on this book to sister in Maculata,
this book no, let me say this correctly, to sister
and Maculada, this book hoping to run another one is
good for her. When my writing luck is running well
again and it will Ernest Himingway, Saint Mary's June sixteenth,
nineteen sixty one. Saint Mary's Hospital obviously is the Mayo

(01:07:25):
down the right in the middle of Rochester.

Speaker 9 (01:07:28):
When my writing luck yeah running well.

Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:07:31):
I think that's how he worded, like when I when
it's flowing through me.

Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Yeah. He had a lot of writing, a lot of time.
In fact, he had a couple of books which even
he admitted weren't very good. So he ran hot and cold.
But he ran hot, man, there weren't anybody better. He's great.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
So do you remember when Hemingway wrote.

Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
Wake Up Coffee, Camo, Climb Tree, and everybody's like, Ernest,
you got to go to camp, buddy, Yeah, you got to.

Speaker 1 (01:07:59):
Go to camp. Maybe maybe save Christmas.

Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
Ernest though, I mean, you know what I mean, you're
gonna you're gonna write some things like that.

Speaker 9 (01:08:08):
If your name is Ernest, at least put some music
behind it, if you're gonna write those lyrics.

Speaker 4 (01:08:15):
Called him video, but nobody ever called him.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
What if it was.

Speaker 4 (01:08:20):
Ernie Ernie Nester, Yeah, he'd have beat your ass.

Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
I bet I bet he would have.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
He was tough. He liked to fight bulls and and
and punch people and drink and and go to war
with like in the trenches with with the soldiers in
both World War One and World War Two. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
Ernest having acquired and used several nicknames short his life,
most famously appointing himself Papa.

Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
Yeah. No, that's right. That's that's where I got that.

Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Really. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Yeah, well you call Papa, well your your uncle.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Well it's because Pete Sauce is a great writer, a
great American writer.

Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
Yeah, Papa. He's widely revered by the entire Twin City.

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
He writes, I can't believe this happened to me. That's
a lot of a story. Start the way I was
in the bathroom at McDonald's.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Yeah, you'll never guess who d m my daughter. That's
the name of one of these.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Believe his best book is uh.

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
I think it starts with something like so I was
getting handcuffed dot dot dot.

Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
And said, do you know who my brother is? And
they said, no, we don't.

Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
Put this ball gag in.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Yeah, that's how we met you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
So many chapters started exactly, I'm Marty, I'm Marnie Marty.

Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
You played coffeel straight to didn't you.

Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
They sure didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
Everybody I talked to you said they saw you earlier
in the day.

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
You had a golf ball off of a cone, an
ice cream cone.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
Right exactly, like a piece of it.

Speaker 9 (01:09:51):
It was a Culver's hole, you know, golf Culver's golf hole.

Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
Yeah, sounded like you got a hold.

Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Obviously, the actual shot was not in the in the
in the shot right, so as you know right up
the gut, was it?

Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
Yeah, it was. It was on the fairway.

Speaker 9 (01:10:09):
I had a couple of uh, good handful of really
nice drives and of.

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
Hard stop.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Oh fine.

Speaker 9 (01:10:20):
We were a fun group.

Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
We were not there to win it. That was the
dancing ladies from Culver's or where were they from.

Speaker 9 (01:10:25):
Yeah, it was a Culvers group. There were many Culvers groups.
But I was lucky enough to be paired with a
foursome of women.

Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
I don't know why, but women said.

Speaker 9 (01:10:43):
It was confirmed again yesterday. What I have known about myself,
my entire golfing life. I am a nine hole golfer.

Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
Eighteen's too much.

Speaker 9 (01:10:54):
Yeah, I get to twelve and I'm like, I checked
out mentally physically.

Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
Yeah, that's what I was going to ask, because we.

Speaker 9 (01:11:03):
Designed golf courses for eighteen holes.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
Scottish people, people with a lot of spare time.

Speaker 1 (01:11:09):
Yeah, Luke Bryan have stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Back then they didn't, and.

Speaker 9 (01:11:15):
There are there are people who are like, let's play
thirty six today?

Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Yeah, what is wrong?

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
I did?

Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Yeah two weeks ago up at Grand View. Can you
imagine there's fun?

Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
That's a fate worse than.

Speaker 9 (01:11:28):
At what point did you start to fade on thirty
six holes?

Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Probably thirty three?

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Really, that's incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:11:37):
It was fun though, I mean, well, yeah, the pace
was good, as long as all I care about is
the pace is good when you stand around for a
half hour on each hole.

Speaker 4 (01:11:47):
That's okay.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Were you when you played thirty six?

Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
Were you in a too summer for someome foresome?

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
And it's still the pace was good.

Speaker 9 (01:11:54):
You never did you have to wait for the group
ahead of you at all?

Speaker 1 (01:11:57):
Nope, never, nope.

Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Okay, well that's a great deal though. It was great
And yesterday was a great day of golf as well.

Speaker 9 (01:12:02):
And Randy Shaver does a wonderful job with his charity
and raising money for cancer and cancer research and that
is super important.

Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
So for the first time, have you meet her too?

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
Yep, I've met her before yet.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Yeah, it's a great event.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
I'm just saying golf separate.

Speaker 9 (01:12:18):
I'm separating the two things, golf itself, which I love hate.
I'm a nine hole goal, okay on the golf course.

Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
I'm so.

Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
I'm just so glad Rosie is still not on our show.

Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
Hawk, I'll aren't you wondering where the fourth one?

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Of course, she's got two years.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
I don't know four.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
This show is so dumb.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
Sick, it's really stupid.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
Uh more with Marnie Gallmer later the news in a second. Hey,
we'll play a team codes later. I got that lined
up at the eight o'clock hour. You guys can square
off at the I don't know, maybe we'll do that
at like a twenty or something.

Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
