feel like competition matters in male lives more than maybe

it should. But I don't even mean that you're fighting
for money or status, just you gotta have something that
you're trying to improve on.

I think always, yeah, I think that helps.

I'm happy Taylor's asleep because she would say that she's
probably more competitive than me, but she really like she is,
Like every time we play a game of cards or
we do anything, it's like always competition, and I think
obviously she's at the level she's at because of that,
But like, I don't know, I feel like it can
be in both. But I definitely think there's a a
like competitive energy.

I don't know if it's a man thing or not,
but I know that I am much happier if I
have competition and or at the very least a goal
that I have to earn. I'm much much happier because
that's been one of my issues here in my early
and now mid fifties, is I used to have this goal. Obviously,
the goal was to be the number one morning show.

I used to have a goal to get try to
get a record deal. Luckily, we've been lucky enough with
the morning show thing, and the record deal thing never happened,
and now that is never going to happen. And I've
been walking around doing seven hundred things that I moderately
cared about, and that's a.

And I would wake up and go, I guess I
could go do that, and that's not the same as, Man,
I want this thing, let's freaking go right. Yeah, And
then and getting back to working out really helped, And
that's number one. But then realizing that just because I'm
fifty five and I can't ever and never will get
a record deal, doesn't mean I can't still pursue being

Right, So I set that goal out there again and
it's made me much happier. So again, I don't know
if that's an answer to your question, but it's an
important thing for me anyway. Man, I am gold driven,
gold driven, and in a way that is competition.

You're even even if you're quote competing with yourself, there's
some kind of a metric that you're trying to surpass, right.
It's the argument I get in with my wife all
the time when we play scrabble and she she's never
beaten me. And I'm not even saying that to break
but it can. When she we've talked about this in
the past, she'll be like, well, yeah, but you always
try to get like triple word scores. I'm like, yeah,
that's the point of the game. I have no fun

if we're not trying, right, Like, if the point of
the game is just let's just put letters on the
board and then we'll just do this for an hour
and a half and move on with our life.

But and everybody, almost everybody I play golf with is
better than me. So like I've just resorted to the
fact that like, yeah, in life and in the end

it's fun. Yeah, it's fun to play. Parker's better than it.
It's fun to play with it.

But if somebody guessed if you had to guess what
your handicap is, and I mean on the golf course,

golf course, a struggle, what would you say your handicap

what your score was because you truly kept track, don't

am I really shooting ninety eight? I'm better than that? Yeah.

Don't you think keeping track of score would make you
get better? Because I think it would. By definition, I
think it would because you yeah, because every time you
shot worse than that, you would be like, man, what
am I doing wrong?

Then that's the argument of like the product versus process thing, right,
where he's focused on getting a number versus like, actually
how his swing feels and how he's contacting the ball
and if he's putting well, Like I get where you're
coming from, of like that number is a goal?

about that and let me work on my swing and

Not much time for a lot of stories in the
news today, so I just give you a perhaps my
favorite of the day, another bear attack. Black bears are
just one of the number of potentially dangerous animals that
boastay sizable population in California. Attacks involving humans are relatively rare,
but one couple that resides in the state is recovering
from injuries they sustained after harnessing a water bottle in

the handle of a hatchet to fight back against one
of the big black bears that got in a scrape
with their dog. Of course, they say that there's anywhere
between forty seventy one thousand of those animals in California,
lots of them. They tend to be more of a
nuisance than a threat. But it's gotten kind of on hand.

This year Yosemite up in the the California Mountains as well,
been lots of bears attacks. This one attacked the doggie
and they fought back with a hatchet, got a little
bit of mauling themselves, and the doggie escaped the incident
without injuries.

Now we know Tommy was once attacked by a shark's
shadow shadow, and he claims he was a shark attack
quote victim. Yes, because he believed he saw the shadow
of what could only be described as a twenty five
foot great white shark.

Have any of us here even remotely been close to
animal danger?

I saw a snake once.

We had a rib night in tos and me and
my cousins decided to throw that, you know, the bones
of the ribs off the back of the porch. An
hour later, a group of bears was surrounding the house.
So not really not really an immediate danger.

It didn't take long. Tom was in town.

Yea were they were they? What are the brown bears called?

I mean they were brown bears. So if that is
a grizzly bear then yes, but yeah we were. We
were safe inside the house. But like there was probably
a I don't know, they packs when they're bears.

A group of bears were basically eating the bones that
we were thrown off, which wasn't smart because in Tahoe,
like you lock your garbage, you do the whole bit,
you know, was unbelievable.

When I was growing up, there was a pit bull
in the neighborhood. They had to tie a cinder block
to it because they kept getting loose. First they kept
getting loose. Then they tied one cinder block, not something.
Bitch was strong, so they had two cinder blocks. Eventually
they used to chase us all around the neighborhood. But
one I was in I climbed a mountain in Bogata
and I came down and there was a wild dog

in the mountain and it like it was it snarled
at me, like it showed its teeth. It looked like
it was about to attack. How big it was. It
was pretty big, like it was. It was pretty scary.

I got my lab or something. Yeah, that kind of

Was I've got my afro pick, like I was the
Afro Samurai ready to just like shot this, you know,
up and or braid its hair.

And it charged at me at first we are like
a decent distance away. It charged at me, and then
for whatever reason, it just went the other way. It
just like went left instead of coming right at me.

but I have had nuts in my stomach. Oh my god,
come way over the line. Oh yeah.

There was one time when uh, my mom and I
had to like basically live in our car because this
dog wouldn't leave us alone.

It was real scary. His dog was pissed keep going
and keep selling it.

of know. We were hiding in a car. The dog
had real big teeth. I think it's name started with
a C attacked the car eight garbage had killed a

they were able to get to the free throw line
like crazy. I think they shot something like twenty two

that was a huge X factor in that game three
win for them, And just in general, I mean, they've
been They've had double digit leads in every single one
of these games. They've been getting off the hot starts,
they just haven't been able to maintain.

like competitive energy.

but I know that I am much happier if I
have competition and or at the very least a goal
that I have to earn. I'm much much happier because
that's been one of my issues here in my early
and now mid fifties, is I used to have this goal. Obviously,

I used to have a goal to get try to
get a record deal. Luckily, we've been lucky enough with
the morning show thing, and the record deal thing never happened,
and now that is never going to happen. And I've
been walking around doing seven hundred things that I moderately

And I would wake up and go, I guess I
could go do that, and that's not the same as, Man,
I want this thing, let's freaking go right. Yeah, And
then and getting back to working out really helped, And
that's number one. But then realizing that just because I'm
fifty five and I can't ever and never will get
a record deal, doesn't mean I can't still pursue being

great at what I love.

Right, So I set that goal out there again and
it's made me much happier. So again, I don't know
if that's an answer to your question, but it's an
important thing for me anyway. Man, I am gold driven,
gold driven, and in a way that is competition.

You're even even if you're quote competing with yourself, there's
some kind of a metric that you're trying to surpass, right.
It's the argument I get in with my wife all
the time when we play scrabble and she she's never
beaten me. And I'm not even saying that to break
but it can. When she we've talked about this in
the past, she'll be like, well, yeah, but you always
try to get like triple word scores. I'm like, yeah,
that's the point of the game. I have no fun

if we're not trying, right, Like, if the point of
the game is just let's just put letters on the
board and then we'll just do this for an hour
and a half and move on with our life.

I played golf is it. I heard somebody say, like,
uh ten twelve years ago that it's the one place
you can find, like if you're trying to like swing
a business deal, and that's not what I'm doing, but
like it's the one place you can get four hours
of somebody's time as opposed to like a ten minute
phone call, right.

But and everybody, almost everybody I play golf with is
better than me. So like I've just resorted to the

It's fun to play with it.

Then that's the argument of like the product versus process thing, right,
where he's focused on getting a number versus like, actually
how his swing feels and how he's contacting the ball
and if he's putting well, Like I get where you're
coming from, of like that number is a goal?

But also then there's like the thought of like, forget
about that and let me work on my swing and

Not much time for a lot of stories in the
news today, so I just give you a perhaps my
favorite of the day, another bear attack. Black bears are
just one of the number of potentially dangerous animals that
boastay sizable population in California. Attacks involving humans are relatively rare,
but one couple that resides in the state is recovering
from injuries they sustained after harnessing a water bottle in
(09:53):
the handle of a hatchet to fight back against one
of the big black bears that got in a scrape
with their dog. Of course, they say that there's anywhere
between forty seventy one thousand of those animals in California,
lots of them. They tend to be more of a
nuisance than a threat. But it's gotten kind of on hand.

This year Yosemite up in the the California Mountains as well,
been lots of bears attacks. This one attacked the doggie
and they fought back with a hatchet, got a little
bit of mauling themselves, and the doggie escaped the incident
without injuries.

Now we know Tommy was once attacked by a shark's
shadow shadow, and he claims he was a shark attack
quote victim. Yes, because he believed he saw the shadow

we were thrown off, which wasn't smart because in Tahoe,

When I was growing up, there was a pit bull
in the neighborhood. They had to tie a cinder block
to it because they kept getting loose. First they kept

they used to chase us all around the neighborhood. But
one I was in I climbed a mountain in Bogata
and I came down and there was a wild dog

at me, like it showed its teeth. It looked like
it was about to attack. How big it was. It
was pretty big, like it was. It was pretty scary.

they were able to get to the free throw line
like crazy. I think they shot something like twenty two

that was a huge X factor in that game three
win for them, And just in general, I mean, they've
been They've had double digit leads in every single one
of these games. They've been getting off the hot starts,
they just haven't been able to maintain.

every single time, They're able to battle back and they're

has zero points. The next night he looks like Steph Curry,
you know. And then and then og Nanobi's still shooting

out of his mind. Like Parker said, Jalen Brunson hasn't
been He still hasn't had like an efficient night. He's scoring,
but it's like thirty shots to get thirty points. So
if he has a Knight that we know that he

athlete who they are, because we're all gonna fail now
having the split reps, it's me already being behind, not

getting the amount of reps that you know, you would
typically want a guy to get. Learning an offense, that's
probably the toughest part, you know, just again going back
to the past, being in control of everything, understand on
what we were already doing because I was comfortable within
the system. Now coming to the new system, learning on
the fly, trying to play fast, efficient and then let
let it lose while learning is pretty you know, that's
the that's the toughest part.

The stunning ruling concludes a six week legal sega that
SEGA kicked off April twenty seventh, when the NCAA announced
it was investigating Soorsby on allegations of gambling while he
played for Indiana in twenty twenty two. As Sports Illustrated
noted in May, the filing stated Sorsby placed at least
forty wagers on the Hoosiers fortunes in twenty twenty two,

though never on games in which he participated That same
day or Soorsby announced he would enter rehab for gambling addiction,
and the Red Raiders stated their intent to support him.
Now that support seems to paid off, with coach Joey
McGuire's teams chances for the Big Twelve and national title
conversation saved, at least for the immediate future. A great
article again in The Athletic Today talking about how people

have gone crazy about this ruling base, basically saying that
now there's just no ramifications for any kind of cheating
and any kind of gambling and anything.

You're somebody who was just a big ten athlete, just
a college athlete.

Well, for me, the funniest bit is like, all that

but all that needs to happen is there needs to
be a judge that rules him eligible, right right.

Yeah, and you know all the money that's there, I
can guarantee you there was somebody in the back of
you know, some room telling him, Hey, make sure this
kid plays and we'll make sure you're in a good
position for the rest of your life.

There's so much behind the scenes and the money of it,
especially at Texas Tech, which is insane that West Texas
Oil money is flowing there. They have more NIL money
than about anybody in the country. But for me, really
what this showed is like the NCAA doesn't have any
power anymore. Like you're letting a kid who the rules
say you can't bet, you can't do it, and he
almost spent one hundred thousand dollars betting, and you're gonna

If there is only one rule around gambling, it should
be that rule. Yeah, you can't bet on games you
play it. You either can do it or you can't
do it. If you can't do it, you shouldn't be

And then the fact that you just need one judge,
a local judge who's obviously going to vote in rule
of the starting quarterback for his hometown team. I don't know,
it makes it makes zero sense to me.

and there's a lot of money around.

responded to the pole said it spells the end of
college football as we know it.

Yeah, the NCAA is in a tough spot because moving forward,

I can tell you at this level it is pro sports.
There's there's not a starter in the Big ten on
the basketball roster who's not making near a million dollars.

The weird thing here is, though this has very little
to do with college football. You can't do this in
the NFL. You can't do this in the NBA, you can't.

again it doesn't have anything to do with nil. You
can't bet on the sport you're playing in and if you,
if you are found to be doing it, then there
