Well you could.

a lot of fun. Bring the kiddos. There's plenty of
indoor seating as well. I'm looking forward to I love

(00:42):
doing this, man, it's the best best show on the
snow Let's go.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
Yeah, it was good to be It was good to
see you on Tuesday night obviously for.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
The Greeks, the marching everybody. Yeah, yeah, and.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
It's kind of fun to go down the escalator and
see all the merchandise getting ready for this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, Ben, I don't know if you've been to a
snowcross race, but I'll tell you what it's.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
You pull up and you're like, am I at a
NASCAR race?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I mean it's millions of dollars of equipment, these giant howlers,
these giant teams with these I mean, it's and it is.
It's like motocross, man, It's motocross on snow. It is
a high impact, lots of fun racing. It's a lot
of a lot of good time, and it would be
a great thing to do with the kiddos this weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Let him have some fun. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
No, I actually thought about it because I'm like, wait,
when is the race? Because I obviously knew that they're
setting up for something. They're like, it's this weekend. I'm like, oh,
this weekend? Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
And I am your play by play guy. I know
you do a great job. Or do you do it
at Cannonbor?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Do you from the the booth just to the race
not even a booth is more of a room just
to the right of the box box.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Okay, oh swee use binoculars. You just I just yeah,
but not for the race.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You have to call it, oh yeah, yeah, I have
to call it the television because that's what the people
that are listening to me you're.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Seeing, so oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Yeah, so you're there live, but you really need to
call it off the screen.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
That's exactly right. Yep, I can't talk about you. I
can't be talking about the battle for third if the
battle for first is.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
On the TV. You know.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah. So it's interesting. It's a fun skoll. I really enjoyed.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I hope I get to do more different type of
racing and time. I mean it is.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
It is pretty impressive. The way that you you you
do it and have to do is because when they
get going, it's a lot of snow flying around. It's
hard to see, like if somebody is going to pass
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
It's like, who is it again? What number is that?
Because I can't see anything. Yep, it's easy.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
It looks silly, so you pay attention, and I guess
I also just like racing, you know, I've loved it
my whole life.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
So it's a lot of fun. So come on out.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
It'll be a good thing, A good thing. Take your
mind off all the serious things going on in the world. Right, right,
we will talk to dot com Tom bomb there, right,
what's your name?

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Zecho?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Right, that's what all indications are. Good, sweet, Thank.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
You, builders, remodels, builders, models, dot Com. We're gonna do
Fan five.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
It's time for Fan five on the Power Trip, presented
by Builders and Remodelers.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Hey, thanks, builders and remodelers. Thank you. Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
Anythink we haven't talked about ye, yeah, that's what I
was gonna do. Ben, Let's go rapid fire because none
of these are worth like dwelling on because they're mostly
just NFL knows. But I still want your quick twitch
thoughts on some of these NFL headlines. Todd Bowles returning
to the Buccaneers in twenty twenty six, The ownership groups like, yep,
we're coming back.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
We're going to do one more year with Todd Bowles.
Good or bad? No, I think different.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I think it's a good thing. I mean, it just
seems like they got rocked by a bunch of injuries.
I mean, obviously with Baker not being one hundred percent
for most of the season. I think that they understand
the bigger picture of like, Okay, he's he's still a
really good coach. He's got this team on the right track.
He can't you know, he can't do anything about some
of these injuries.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Some of these injuries. This happened. It's his football.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
So unfortunately they got a little unlucky this year, and
I'm glad to see him actually get another crack at this.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Weren't they like five and one or six of the more, Yeah,
they were on a roll and then they will hit
a bad skid man.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
And I got to tell you, Ben, you tell me
as somebody who's playing in that stadium, I love that stadium.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Yeah, it's it's been a while since I've been to
that stadium. I really enjoy that stadium. The thing about
it though, like I don't remember it being loud. Oh no, no,
you know, it's like it's a cool stadium. It's it's
got the antics with all the pirates.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Pirate ship fire in the candidate. Yeah, like it is
very cool.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
The Treasure Island in Vegas twenty years ago, right, Yeah,
still that was the best great spot.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
I'd have to get a refresher on whether or not
the ambiance is like a true home field advantage.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
Oh, Jerry Jones is eighty three years old, but ben
he says he wants to retire with the most super
Bowl wins.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
It's been thirty seasons since he last won one. Has
it been that long? That is thirty years? Thirty? Jeez?

Speaker 7 (04:41):
But he wants to My quote, my goal is in
life is to retire as the owner that won the
most Super Bowls. That's my goal. To be retired in
the NFL as the owner that won the most super Bowls.
We've got three? How many more do I have to
go as a single owner? How many does Robert Craft have?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Six?

Speaker 7 (04:56):
So I got work to do, he says, Oh my god,
my god, Yeah, he's got a lot.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Three, He's got a lot of work to do. Eighty three. Yeah.
It's a good goal though, Yeah, you know, why not.
It's going to keep him going.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
Do you believe in his lifetime he gets one more?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yes? Oh my, you're saying Jerry Jones gets one before
he goes. Do you think the will ever get one?

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yes, for sure. Thank you, Thank you for saying, Paul Ziggy,
good question. There's a website where we could look that up.
There will be someday I can Seebody should thank you.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
I was gonna say, seventy three.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Looks like it's twenty five. Good looking.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
I mean, he looks considerably younger than Jerry Jones. Yeah,
true that. Yeah, so you think he gets one? Interesting,
that feels like a long term power trip bet. But
I don't know if anybody wants either side of that.
So if you take the other side that he never
gets one. Yeah, how do we do this though?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Is it when?

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
But what I'm saying, like, if he's eighty three, what
if he lives fifteen years that that's just gonna linger.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I'll be long gone. I'm worried about that. Yeah. Oh
how about this one? Ben? The New Orleans Saints, all
those things can change.

Speaker 7 (06:06):
They say they are committed to Tyler shuk as their
quarterback in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Look, I think that there was a lot of a
lot of promise for him to the way that he
finished the season. He was one of those He was
one of those quarterbacks I think everybody was very high
on and optimistic coming out of the draft. It's just
that I think people were scared to take him too
high and like reach for him. So he's the super

(06:34):
talented quarterbacks and then it sounds like, you know, what
he's doing down there is like, okay, we don't need
to start over. And if we've all kind of been
we've seen what that looks like, a lot of teams
have seen what that looks like. And if they if
they feel like there's a spark there, then why not
see if they can ignite a huge flame down there.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
So good for them to kind of stick with their guns.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
All right.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
The rest of the show, obviously we'll do headlines, we're
gonna talk to dot Com Tomas, we'll talk about the playoffs.
But let's go rapid fire with the lines on Raftkings.
Let's go all six four road favorites by the way
out of the six games, which is kind of crazy. Saturday,
the first game is Rams at Panthers at three thirty
on DraftKings. The Rams are now ten and a half
point favorites at Carolina Rams at Panthers three thirty. I

(07:17):
would take that that the Rams are gonna win by
more than ten and a half. The night game Packers
at Bears. The Packers are also road favorites. They are
minus one and a half. I'll take the Bears on
that one. Bears plus the points.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Sunday, the first game is at noon, the Buffalo Bills
go to Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bills
are road favorites. They are one and a half point
favorites on DraftKings.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
Give me the grilled out Trevor Lawrence. I'm taking the Jags.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Hmmm. Okay, wow.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
The three point thirty game the San Francisco forty nine
Ers four and a half point underdogs at Philly.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Tough place to play. Yeah, gotta go Philly. Philly's gonna
figure it out. They're they're playing there. They're a playoff
little machine. So I'm gonna take Philly on that.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
The Niners can't stop anybody.

Speaker 7 (08:14):
Yeah, and if they had Warner and Bosay, that team
would be dangerous.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
But they do, but they don't.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I really hope that Eric Kendricks has a big day
national stage.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Would be great to see him, right. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:24):
The night game is future Vikings quarterback Justin Herbert at
the New England Patriots at seven o'clock. The Patriots are
three and a half point favorites.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Pats. I'll take them, yep.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
The Monday night game Texans at Steelers. What the Houston
Texans are road favorites three point favorites.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
This is a home Monday night football.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Game for the Steelers, and I believe the stat still
holds right that they have not lost a home Monday
night football game since nineteen ninety one. Think about that. Wow,
that's nuts, right, something like what is twenty It's like
twenty six an hour. It's some number like that. I
forget the exact number. It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
Do we know, as I'm looking up right now, what
the weather is going to be?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Like?

Speaker 8 (09:11):
I do?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Do you do? Ba Star? Zax says eighty three? Zax
says eighty three, gonna start? Holy slow computer, My good.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
I've been shine.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
You know it's getting there. It's getting There's thirty seven today.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
That's nice. You don't like the iHeartRadio WiFi? No, it's terrible.
It's taken so long. We're fixing it. I'll get to it. Well.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
It really could be my work computer too. Oh gosh,
now I've got to pop up AD.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
What is going on? What do you look up on
that thing? Geez, waiting for Mels in your neighborhood? Your
computers on? I'm sorry, I'll turn this down, all right,
young we finally got.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Hold on young Cougars. Yep uh, Monday the twelve, thirty
seven degrees for high and partly cloudy. So in no,
no pre so, I'm gonna go Texans. Got to hate
that precip Give me the Texans. Texans did Texas? Okay,
let me ask you did. Pittsburgh even looked that good
the other night, though. Phenomenal game, What a way to

(10:16):
end the season. But it looked like two teams that
didn't want to win until the last eight minutes of
the game.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I couldn't believe how easy was to score those last Yeah,
I know, all.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Right, I'm with you.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
One final question. This might be hard because you don't
have the whole list in front of you. I think
a lot of people agree that this year feels pretty
wide open. Right, there's a pretty large group of teams
that can win the Super Bowl. It's not one or
two dominant teams, right, pretty wide Oh yeah, yeah, give
me your short list of teams that you believe cannot
win the Super Bowl, that cannot cannot.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
That it doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Carolina, Okay, there's one, Yeah, I'll say Carolina, Pittsburgh, the Vikings,
Dusty cow Town, Pittsburgh Chargers. I would say those three
for sure cannot win. Everybody else I think has a chance,
even the.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Jackers and Bears, I would both do it.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
I would probably lean more towards the Packers of not
being knowing to do it.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Did you say you don't think the Chargers can do it?

Speaker 5 (11:15):
I think their defense is a little bit of a
hot mess.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
If the Packers still had Parsons, they would still be
in the mix. Yes, it isn't that incredible? Changes changes everything.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah, you could put pressure on anybody with him yep, yep, Headlines.

Speaker 7 (11:28):
In a second, Pella Sero in a second, as well
more with Ben Lever and the rest of the Power
to the Morning show after this on.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
The fan, somebody's cold?

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Sorry, Yeah, I bet I know who's not cold right
now thanks to our friends not yet.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Well he's not ready, not see him, And.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I'm gonna thank our friends a bell Bank anyway, because
we are live from the Bell Bank studios.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
I love Bell Bank likes too. Yeah, well she had
an ATM in here, bell Bank a CM. That's a
good idea easy, easy bro, Like when we lose a bet,
we can just pay with that. There's a lot of
ATMs in Vegas. I think yeah, especially inaction. Yeah, the
what the withdrawal fees are?

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Don't do that?

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Astronomical He's here.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
Let's go click on the old link at cafe and
watch Wayne.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Oh lordy, lordy, Hi, Hi tom Pella sero. Hi, guys
were doing him okay.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Today doing fantastic.

Speaker 8 (12:43):
Uh, got my voice back, got the two weeks super
flu whatever the hell it was out of my system.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
So we're rolling its super fluo. Interesting.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Yeah, good for you man. I'm still working on getting
my voice.

Speaker 7 (12:55):
Back super flu And where do you guys want to start?

Speaker 3 (12:59):
There's a lot of rumor, there's a lot.

Speaker 8 (13:00):
Of It's why he's got to creep me out every
time every week when I pop on, like the first
minutes him making weird Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
What is this?

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Your head is on my body right now? There we
go suggesting to it anyway, Hi, Hi Tommy.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Thanks.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
I appreciate it very much. It's good to see your face.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Thanks for helping us lighten the load on everybody around
the Twin Cities in the world by talking about football
and things that don't matter very much.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
We appreciate it very much.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
And thanks to Bell Bank for bringing us to you
all season long the other way around, you know what
I meant.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Okay, let's talk football.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
First of all, are you at all interested in tonight's
college football game.

Speaker 8 (13:37):
This is the first time hearing of a college football
game tonight. It's been a little busy.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
I've been a little busy in the past few days.
I had no clue. Usually I find these out.

Speaker 8 (13:46):
I'll start seeing tweets about the game and I'll be like, hey,
there's that that college game on.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Who's playing Miami and Ole Miss.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
It's the you know, the semi finals, and whoever wins
this game goes to the final. The finals is either
Indiana or organ So I thought, maybe because you'll be
talking about all these guys next year, but I don't.

Speaker 8 (14:07):
I'll peek in, you know, on the quarterbacks when Fernanda
Mendoz is playing.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
That's interesting to me.

Speaker 8 (14:12):
Obviously seeing Ty Simpson in the game that they lost
to Indiana, you know those things.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
But this is this week is.

Speaker 8 (14:20):
Is bonkers every year, and it was kind of set
up this way too for this to be a particularly
wild year. I think I said it on this show
that because there were no you know, really clear head
coaching candidates, no slam dunk. You know, the typical rising coordinators,
the Ben Johnson's, the Mike McDonald's, that this was going

(14:42):
to be a cycle defined by what coaches get fired
and immediately become available. What I did not foresee was
John Harbaugh as quickly as he did, and in the
manner he did, becoming available in addition to Kevin Stefanski,
in addition to what potentially could be additional ripple effects

(15:03):
here over the next week as well.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
There's not a lot of times that.

Speaker 8 (15:07):
A John Harbaugh or a two time NFL Coach of
the Year like Kevin Stefanski drop onto the market. And
so what you're seeing right now is are really aggressive
pushes by teams to try to see if there's a
match with one of those guys. That there's interviews going
on all over the place.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
You know.

Speaker 8 (15:24):
Click Kubiak, a former Vikings assistant, has five different you know,
head coaching interviews. There's gonna be packing into like an
hour with each team on Zoom during their bye week
this week, a couple of the Broncos guys Vance Joseph
Davis Webb doing a whole bunch of interviews. The other
coaches who are out of the playoffs can interview, and
then next week because of the rules after the wild
card games, everybody who's playing this week, so coaches from

(15:47):
twelve teams, those will all happen next week.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
So this is a chaotic thing.

Speaker 8 (15:52):
But like we saw with Mike Rabel last year, you
saw the Patriots dramatically accelerate their process. It seems like
we've got at least the early signs that some teams
might be doing the same thing for John Harbaugh.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
And so, you know, I would not be shocked.

Speaker 8 (16:06):
We'll see how it plays out, but I would not
be shocked if in the next, you know, forty eight
to seventy two hours, we start getting a pretty good
idea of where some of these these fired coaches could land.

Speaker 7 (16:15):
So forty eight hours ago, I don't think almost any
of us saw Harbad being available.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
We all thought he was going to be with the
Ravens for a long long time.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
We just before you got on, we're talking about potential
quarterbacks for the Minnesota Vikings and who might be available.
Is there a current quote franchise quarterback that you believe
will be available via trade or other options this offseason
that the public might not see coming like, could the
Vikings Prize someone loose.

Speaker 8 (16:41):
I mean, there's a bunch of quarterbacks. I think probably
a dozen teams who actually know what their quarterback situation
is going to be in twenty twenty six. And so
I mean, if you go down the list, Kirk Cousins,
you know they did the restructure of his contract at
the end of the season, was actually done prior to
the Falcons firing and everybody. So this was a plan
that was already in place. But he's essentially guaranteed that

(17:02):
he's going to be back out there. Is that gonna
be a match coming back to Minnesota. There's a lot
of layers to that, but you know that's a quarterback
that's going to become available. Kyler Murray do forty million
dollars fully guaranteed this year. They've got a trigger of
sorts in mid March where another twenty million would become
fully guaranteed. I would anticipate he's not on the Cardinals

(17:22):
roster by then and he gets released to a tongue
of I lower the most likely situation is that he
gets released. You know those top line, you know, franchise guys.
You know there'll be rumors on you know, Joe Burrow
and Lamar Jackson. You know, people calling on some of
those quarterbacks. I don't foresee those things taking place. You know,
the Ravens made their big change. You know, they're gonna

(17:43):
have a new head coach, and the biggest draw of
that job is going to be Lamar Jackson Joe Burrow.
I'm sure there'll be calls, but there's no reason to
believe that Mike Brown, who doesn't ever like other people
to play with his toys, is just going to trade
away one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
You know, there's certain or other you know, if I'm.

Speaker 8 (18:01):
Looking down my board, I mean, Daniel Jones is a
free agent, Gino Smith could be available, Russell Wilson's a
free agent. Justin fields you would anticipate is gonna be cut.
You know, Deshaun Watson's gonna be staying in Cleveland and
all likely for another year, just because the cap ramifications
of moving on from him are so astronomical. But certainly,

(18:21):
you know, there's a ton of moving parts. You know,
nobody put it this way. Nobody last year was sitting
here and going you know, at this time of year,
in particular when the Vikings are in the playoffs and going.
You know what's probably gonna happen is Sam Donald's not
gonna be back in Minnesota. The Seahawks are gonna trade
Gino Smith to the Raiders, and then they're gonna sign Donald.
I don't think that was on anybody's Bengo card, but
there's domino effects in all this. That only took place

(18:43):
because Geno Smith was unhappy with the forty million around
that that he was due, demanded more money. They made
him an offer, he didn't like the offer, and then
they went, we'll take a third round pick and get
ten years younger and pay Sam Donald less and it's
worked out great. You just don't know how some of
those situations are going to take place. But you know,
unless you're on the short list of you know, the Packers,

(19:05):
the Patriots, the Bills, I was, you know, the Chiefs,
the Chargers, there's like ten to twelve teams.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Unless you have one of those guys, everything's up for grabs.

Speaker 8 (19:15):
And in a year two where you know, Ty Simpson
just declared for the draft, Fernando Mendoz is widely believed
to be the number one pick beyond those guys, there's
not a clear you know, we'll see what the kid
from Oregon more does, but there's not like clear cut
even first round potential prospects. Everybody's gonna be looking at
the veteran quarterback market and figuring out what buttons could

(19:36):
be pushed. And to your point, there could be some
that aren't obvious, but they become obvious based on how
things play out as we get into February and early March.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Tom this might be a little a tough one, but
mac Jones. Mac Jones is like the one that everybody
wants to talk about with the Vikings because of what
he did with Shanahan in that style of system and
what he could look like in this system with koc.
But as you said, it's going to be a bidder's situation,
like you're going to really really have to outbid anybody

(20:07):
else to get his services. So what do you think
is the ballpark winning bid for a guy like mac Jones.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Well start with this.

Speaker 8 (20:15):
He's a young, cheap backup on a team who's starting
quarterback has missed a lot of time. You know, Brock
Purdy if you look at him, and again, I don't
know sausage in the room will be triggered. But he's
maybe the most efficient quarterback in NFL history. You know,
if you just look at the raw statistics, you know
there was a clear jump once brock Purdy got healthy
and rolling from what they were doing early on with
Mac Jones. But Purty every year has been banged up.

(20:38):
You know, he had the elbow injury. This year was
a turf toe injury that kept off the field for
basically half the year. There's a great value in San
Francisco to having the number two quarterback who you trust
can go out there and execute at a high level.
So I don't think that Kyle Shannon is just going, hey,
if we can get a third round pick for mac Jones, great,
let's take it. I don't foresee being a first round

(21:00):
pick for mac Jones. I don't even know that you
get into, you know, second round pick territory, which is
kind of in the historical if you're trading a backup quarterback,
who's good, who's behind an estabage starter, A two's kind
of usually the top end of what you potentially can get.
I just don't know that that, you know, what really
moves the needle for San Francisco having said that, you know,
Kyle has shown that he can take different quarterbacks and

(21:24):
come in.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Sam Darnold was one of them.

Speaker 8 (21:26):
And you know, just like Sean McVay, just like Kevin
O'Connell has, those guys, based on their expertise, can take
somebody that the league has decided isn't good enough and
make them good enough for them to go on and
get a new deal. That, frankly is part of why
I believe they did a two year contract with mac
Jones was knowing odds always going to see the field,
We're not gonna be able to afford him after the season.
Why not sign him to a two year contract? You know,

(21:49):
is there another quarterback out there that could be a
reclamation project for Kyle Shanahan And then he goes, all right,
if we can get you know, just throwing out names
Kyler Murray in here, then maybe we feel comfortable with mac.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Jones moving on.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Maybe Kirk Cousins of the stage of his career, even
though I think down the stretch he showed once he's
healthy he still could be a starter. Maybe Kirk's fine
being a number two. I don't really see that being
the case. I think Kirk's starting somewhere in twenty twenty six.
But you know, there's all kinds of possibilities. I just
don't think that you make that move in a vacuum.
And I don't think that this is a throwaway. I mean,
when mac Jones had no future in New England, the

(22:23):
Patriots still got like a fifth round pick for him,
trading him to Jacksonville. Now that he's playing a lot
better football, the price is going to be higher than that.
I don't know that the forty nine ers are taken,
you know, a fourth round or even a third for
mac Jones, and at some point, you know, you start
to get really rich in terms of you know what
that number is going to be, especially because if you're
trading for mac Jones to be your starter, he's also

(22:45):
going to want a new contract as part of that deal.

Speaker 9 (22:47):
Uh, Tom Peliserro do you think any of the coaches
coaching this weekend with a loss could be out of
a job?

Speaker 4 (22:55):
You don't have a proc perty follow up.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Oh, I don't know. It was the holiday at top
three movie or not? I mean, he looked great last
week the holiday. I love the Yeah.

Speaker 7 (23:06):
So the bit is, uh, man, it's not worth explaining this.
But when Holiday when Jack Black, when when Party had
five touchdowns, I think for the second consecutive game, like
two weeks ago. Normally, when Party sucks, Sauce just tweets
like crazy about how bad he is. Like, but when
I went to Twitter to see if he was, like, oh, look,
Perty's lighting it up.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
What is Sauce saying about Party? Now, he wasn't watching
the game.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
He simply said The Holiday is a top three Christmas
movie of all time.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
So now our running bit is anytime that.

Speaker 7 (23:34):
Party's lightened it up, he has to tweet about the Holiday,
even if it's like September.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
But I didn't have to last week because he was terrible.
Oh yeah, yeah, that.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Is also he was. There is no objective criteria by
which you can say the Holiday is a top.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Oh it's so good, Oh it's outstanding because.

Speaker 8 (23:52):
Jack Light's the one movie he didn't have a beard.
Is that your your whole logic? Like he showed range,
it's the only movie where Jack Black plays a different
character than he plays in every other move. Sorry to
like you're putting no, I mean, if you want, I
I now and now I'm fired up about this. The
Holiday if you're putting that above Christmas.

Speaker 6 (24:10):
Faction, Christmas Vacation is all alone love actually, love actually
is terrible. Right there, that is three slam Home alone,
love actually is terrible.

Speaker 9 (24:21):
Christmas Vacation and home alone are the top two standard
the holidays.

Speaker 8 (24:26):
You're saying all other Christmas movies Elf, you're putting.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
The holiday about Elf.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
Yes, yeah, yep, I mean I will make a point.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I just I think that's I'm sorry I didn't ask.
I can look. I can see them by the look
on your face. You're serious holiday holiday.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Well, don't forget about Cameron Diaz's Kate Winslet some old
guy who needs somebody to take him to an award ceremony.

Speaker 7 (24:55):
But Tom, he also believes that A Christmas Story is
the worst movie ever made, not even holiday movie.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
It's the worst movie ever made. A Christmas Story, A Christmas.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Story is overrated.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Okay, there you go, now all common ground. Now we
can you guys can disagree on party. You can disagree
the actually so.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Good an Elf as a wild take wild.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
I think me can.

Speaker 7 (25:17):
I would be a little more specific. I think he
is specifically asking about the packers. We're all confused about
why the Lafleora. Rumors continue that is he really on
the hot seat? Is could this be his last weekend
if it is bad against Chicago.

Speaker 8 (25:32):
What I would say is this, I think that it
would be misguided, to say the least, for the Packers
to move on from Matt Lafleur. He is a top
play caller in the league. Just that on itself. He
has built a culture there. They are a perennial Pro Bowl,
perennial playoff team. He made the transition from Aaron Rodgers

(25:54):
to Jordan Love, a quarterback that he developed from a
guy who, you know, Utah State was not running anything
that loosely resembled, you know, the type of offense he
is playing now, had all kinds of things to clean up.
Matt Lafleur, with coordinator changes, with coaches coming and going,
has developed him. Matt Lafleur, if he became available, would
be the number one candidate. I believe he would be

(26:16):
above John Harbaugh. I certainly believe he'd be above Kevin Stefanski.
And that's nothing against either of those guys. That's how
good Matt lafleuor is. Having said that the Packers are
at this kind of pivot point because Lafloor and the
GM Bryan Goodakoutz, both had their contracts up after the
twenty twenty sixth season. There are structural questions because you

(26:36):
got a new president and CEO who might want a
different type of structure than what the Packers have now,
where you basically have the head coach, the GM, and
Russ Ball, who's the administrator, all reporting to the ownership
the Packers. Historically, for many, many years, it had a
linear structure of the GMS above the head coach. So
there's structural questions there, and there's also a question of

(26:58):
how much do you want to pay Matt Floor based
on his track record. If you're just looking at the
head coaching market, is a fifteen million dollars a year coach,
That's what he should be getting paid. He's being paid
less than that now. On an extension, he should be
a top ten, if not higher paid coach in the
NFL based on the success that he's had and how

(27:19):
valuable he is relative to the marketplace. If the Packers
reach a point where they decide we're just we like it,
but we just aren't going to pay that, then there's
different scenarios that could play out. Mattela Fluor could say, great, cool,
I'm going to coach this thing out in twenty twenty six.
He could say, let's work out a deal where I
get a new contract with a different team and you
work out a trade. He could also say, if that's

(27:41):
how you feel, then you should probably just fire me
now because the price isn't going down next summer. Those
are all the different things that could play out here.
I think that if you're just looking at the first
two Packers Bears matchups, I would not be surprised at
all if they win this game on Saturday night. They
clearly outplayed the Bears in the first meeting. I believe
they outplayed him in the second meeting, and only because
they failed to run out the clock and they didn't

(28:02):
recover an onside kick. The Bears were able to come
back and win that game. So let's see what happens
on Saturday night. I would just reiterate, yes, are there
different ways this could go? Sure, because you're you're entering
the last year of your contract. It's kind of like,
I mean, it's not unlike what happened last year with
Kevin O'Connell, where you know, there were rumors that, you know,
would people trade for him and things like that. Sure,

(28:23):
if he became available, I'm sure that would have happened.
But it's not like the Vikings were shopping him. The
Wilfs were saying, hey, you know, give us a call.
It was all right, are you going to pay what
the number is? And they stepped up and paid Kevin
o'caddle a great deal of money. You know, with the Packers,
are they going to make that same type of a commitment?
The Vikings move very swiftly on that. If the Packers

(28:45):
are going to do it, I would think that they
would do it in the near term because if it's
going to go the other direction for multiple.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Reasons, you need to make that decision sooner than later.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
All right, I got one for you. Now, let's bring
everything back in house. As a Tom Pellisero thanks to Bellbank.
Talk about the Vikes, what is the late do you
have any latest rumors on B flow? And then as
this thing kind of stretches out this offseason, are you
hearing anything else about any other movements within the Vikings organization,
coaches or front office.

Speaker 8 (29:15):
As of last night, no teams have put in a
head coach interview slip for Brian Flores. Certainly there has
been speculation in the media and within the league the
connects with Tom Brady and the possibility of Las Vegas.
You know, one thing you have to remember is because
the rules are set up the coaches who are on
a buy so Clint Kubiak, Davis Webb, Van Shows, they

(29:38):
can only interview first time this week, and if you
don't interview them this week, then by rule, you can't
interview them in the future. You can't interview them two
weeks down the line unless they're out of the playoffs.
So I do believe that there's going to be interesting.
I do believe Flow is going to have interviews. You know,
Baltimore would be another team that would make a lot
of sense as they try to get younger and have

(29:58):
a very clear identity get back to being what the
Ravens are, and so we'll see, you know, exactly how
this plays out. The Raiders certainly could pop up again
in terms of flows contract. I don't get the sense
that that's on the front burner because he's focused right
now on what head coaching opportunities potentially could be out there.
Once you get past that. You know, let's see exactly

(30:19):
you know how some of those those other dominoes fall.
Is it in play for flowed potentially come back? Yes,
but there's a lot of other interests. I would tell
you that in terms of defensive coordinator if there's not
a head coaching opportunity out there for him.

Speaker 7 (30:30):
And just to follow up, just so we are all
on the same page with the numbers, the holiday is
fifty one percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Yeah, that is completely fair.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Okay, Hold on a second, if we're going to play
this game, Hold on, what game are we playing?

Speaker 3 (30:44):
I mean, what's Home Alone one? Which I like ninety?

Speaker 4 (30:47):
I said ninety seven percent.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
I bet it's in like the forties. Oh, home Alone
higher than fifty?

Speaker 6 (30:53):
No chance, Home Alone's got to be in the nineties, sixties,
said John Hughes, move sixty six.

Speaker 7 (30:58):
Home Alone two is thirty five, and that's Hololon two
is bad.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Home Alone two rocks.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
You like Home Alone two? Sauce yolone?

Speaker 3 (31:08):
What what? What did this turn out to me? Getting destroyed? Yeah?
I like Home Alone two?

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Sorry, but you're like Back to the Future three as well.
Smell that's talk.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
See Tom is smart, he gets it. Back to the
Future three is the best of three.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Oh god, it is.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
I got an argument about this yesterday, as if I
don't have enough going on, like you're a fold of
My colleague texted Back to the Future three is the
best Back to the Future, and I'm like, I don't
even have time to deal with you right now and
explain why the family resemblances and the town makes sense
between nineteen eighty five and nineteen fifty five. It does

(31:42):
the same generation, it's the same people. Now we're going
back to eighteen eighty five and mad Dog Tannon just
so happens to have a feud with a guy who
looks exactly like Marty McFly. You know how families work.
Have you ever looked at your relatives from one hundred
years ago? They look nothing They like you. Unless you
are strictly staying within your own house in the gene pool,

(32:05):
they're going.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
To have some type of an evolution.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
I'm getting.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Back to the Future three is not even close the worst.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Of those movies, agreed. I like when Tom's fired up, right,
he's more fight the football.

Speaker 8 (32:20):
I'm not allowed to root for anything in football. I
can root for Sauce to be a moron about mine.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Say it about my God, I didn't bet my guy
to time. You're the best, dude, Thank you, You're the greatest.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Bye Tom bye, tom So right about movies plenty Eastwood.

Speaker 9 (32:38):
Back to the Future three is seventy nine percent?

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Is that possible that movie sucks? What's your stuff? Seventy nine?
What's the second one? Hold on this computer?

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Sixty three? Oh my gosh, that's it's in your hands up?
You guy, man, I got to run. Thank you guys
so much. Thanks for being flexible with my schedule today.
And I just want to thank Lexus Whise that Alexis
of Maple Wood for bringing me today and specifically the
actual Lexus g X five fifty which actually brought me
to the studio AND's gonna take me away. So thank
you Lexus. Appreciate you guys. I'll talk to you guys

(33:12):
on Monday.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Dude on Monday. Okoy, Bye bye, buddy, Paul your hands up.

Speaker 7 (33:16):
Back to the Future one, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Ninety three, ninety two. Yeah, it's fantastic. Now it's time
for headlines. Headlines, here we go.

Speaker 7 (33:29):
The next three hosts and musical guests of Saturday Night
Live have been announced. January seventeen, Finn Wolfhart from Stranger
Things war with musical guest Asap Rocky or Warrant, then Taylor,
Tianna Taylor and Geese Yeah with Jesus Priest and then

(33:50):
Alexander who Scarsguard and Carter b.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Goar feature featuring carb What that's right?

Speaker 3 (33:59):
That's on the TV? And you heard my said? Is
Warren still around? They are sure? Sure? What a stupid question.
Don't make me get tom Ba back on it? Oh,
I bet he loves Warren.

Speaker 7 (34:10):
Did anybody listen to the Ricky Gervais episode of SmartLess
this week?

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Do you guys check it out?

Speaker 2 (34:15):
No?

Speaker 7 (34:16):
So, Bradley Cooper is on the first I don't know,
ten minutes, maybe less. He's just he's wherever they were
recording the podcast. He was in one of their houses, right,
so he they like briefly talked with Ricky and then
Bradley's like, all right, I gotta go.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I'm not going to step on your thing. I'm out
of here. Right.

Speaker 7 (34:35):
But in those handful of moments they laughed about how
everybody is accusing Bradley Cooper of getting plastic surgery.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
And remember when Elizabeth Reese.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Was on, and I believe they've also talked about this
in Twin City's Live. Everyone is convinced that he got that.
What is it called like the upper bleff for something
like the eye surgery?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah, yeah, the one that Marni needs. Oh, son of
not my words. Oh, Cory's gonna do right now, say
that to her face tomorrow. No, I didn't. I didn't
say it. Say that to her current face tomorrow. Well,
I'll let Bob do all that either way. He is
denying it, and they laughed about it. They like, I just
don't understand where this stuff is coming from, and I don't.

(35:15):
I don't get it.

Speaker 7 (35:16):
So he's saying no that whatever that I surgery is
that everybody says it's one hundred percent that he got
because of the before and afters.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
He's saying no, oh, and.

Speaker 7 (35:26):
They all thought it was kind of funny that that's
how the news works.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
Anyway, How was the Jervaise bit?

Speaker 7 (35:37):
I listened to the first half so far, haven't heard
the back half. But he's Ricky's the best. Yeah, he's great.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
It's awesome.

Speaker 7 (35:43):
Second season premiere of The Pit on HBO Max starting tonight.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
What a great show. The Pits. It's so good. I
know nobody will watch it because I love it. But
it's so good. I mean, everybody else loves it. It's critically,
it's so good. It's just so I can't wait. I
can't wait. Yep. I think most of us can name.

Speaker 7 (36:09):
At the most three chess players, right, chess, actual ones,
actual chess players.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
Yeah, go for it. Try Bobby Fisher that's one. Magnus
Carlson that's two.

Speaker 7 (36:23):
Luko Yeah, I mean technically I've never beaten him.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Phil Diagony Digony probably play. I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 7 (36:32):
Bobby Fisher is one of them, though, right, if you're
if you're asking the average person on the street to
name a chess player, he's probably the one that people
know the.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Most, right.

Speaker 7 (36:40):
Queen Gambit, Yeah right, she's fantastic. She's also an actress.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Oh she is.

Speaker 7 (36:46):
Bobby Fisher won his first US Chess championship on this
day in nineteen fifty eight. How old was he when
he won his first US Chess championship this day, nineteen
fifty eight?

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Twelve? I thought was I was gonna say thirteen?

Speaker 8 (37:09):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Fourteen years old? Wow?

Speaker 7 (37:13):
It was one of his eight wins over the next
nine years. Who beat him one year that he lost?
Knows who beat him the one year he lost. Yeah,
this is a crazy story a money tumor.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
Happy birthday on money tumor, No, his birthday. It's a
true story. He beat him. He's great, Wow, great chess man.

Speaker 7 (37:36):
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette newspaper announced that it's shutting down
in May. They first published their newspaper back in seventeen
eighty six.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
That hole, but it is.

Speaker 7 (37:48):
That's too bad, you know, as media continues to collapse,
traditional old school media continues to collapse.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Here's another example.

Speaker 7 (37:55):
Uh, print publications, newspapers, magaze, they're just falling by the
wayside on a daily basis.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
The newspaper's kick ass many.

Speaker 7 (38:06):
I haven't had a subscription to a newspaper in probably
twenty years, but yep, that was something I definitely liked.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
Even in my twenties. I would be like, let's read
the paper. Yep. Change is hard. No, it really is,
all right.

Speaker 7 (38:17):
So on the surface, this may seem like a super
easy question, but I want you guys to just take
a deep breath and think about it for one second
and then answer there's the deep breath. Let me ask
it though, first, Uh, both of these men are dead.
Both of these people, though, were born today, David Bowie
and Elvis Presley.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
If you can only.

Speaker 7 (38:37):
Listen to one of their catalogs for the rest of
your life, the other one you can never hear again.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Do you pick all of Bowie's catalog or all.

Speaker 7 (38:44):
Of Elvis Presley's catalog the other one you can never
listen to again?

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Damn? Which one do you pick? And why it's not
even close to you? Bowie?

Speaker 1 (38:53):
It's Bowie? Yeah, yeah, Zachary, Yeah, Bowie's more fun. Damn,
nobody's on team Elvis. Answer me.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
I'm not a huge fan of either, but I do.

Speaker 7 (39:07):
Probably lean slightly towards Bowie as well, but barely. This
is they're both like, I'm never going to search out either,
Like I'm not going to put either one of them
on a playlist. But if it's like, you know, heroes
versus jailhouse rocket taking heroes, Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
What year do you believe David Bowie died? Oh?

Speaker 1 (39:34):
I mean, can you get it? Twenty twelve, two and
sixteen through eighteen. I thought think I was going to say,
I'm going to say.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Sixteen, nailed it. Twenty sixteen. That was Earie Day.

Speaker 9 (39:51):
He had that video that he really used to look
and I watched it, man, and then.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Did he die like two or three days later? Yeah? This, yeah, man,
I'm in heaven. Elvis died in what year? Seventy three? Nine?
I was in the seventies, right, No, seven seventies, seventy seven,
seven seventy seven.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Miracle open? What is a miracle the open? A miracle
goes the America and ice. It goes to the nineteen seventies,
like the big events. And I remember when it said
nineteen seventy seven Elvis the King.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
That's an A plus film. So good, I gotta watch
it again. I will watch it again February. We haven't
tried this in a while.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
Where I have you guys guess something that's impossible to
guess unless you read it. Oh yeah, just to see
how close you get and how long it takes you
to get closer.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Keep going.

Speaker 7 (40:48):
Someone in Camden, New Jersey, stole something from from behind
a bar that is like the bar's iconic kind of
talking piece.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Right.

Speaker 7 (40:57):
It had been behind the bar for years. It's kind
of what the bar was known for but somebody stole it.
What was behind the bar for years? That was a
conversation starter at the bar, and it was kind of
their iconic piece of the beaver. Rosy, you're actually not
far off to start. It's not a bad guess.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Rosie, and I need you to be extremely specific. Does
it relates to or does it relate to the location
at all? Nope, not at all? Okay, the bar platypus.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
It is animal related the bar shark tooth.

Speaker 7 (41:51):
Behind I mean no, that's you're you're on the right path.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Alligator skull with teeth. Now you're going the wrong way
in terms of ecosystems.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Shark too. So it's got to be in the sea,
whale blubber, no, crad.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
This is a conversation starter. You know, they're never going
to get it. We consider her random things. They're getting close.

Speaker 7 (42:23):
Close with the faith in you guys, that's in this
shark ecosystem. It's not necessarily always underwater. And you're guessing,
like teeth instuff?

Speaker 1 (42:33):
Can we just mean is it a copy of like
Jaws that was signed by the twenty.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
They're never going to get it. Let me see if
I can do it like this. Let me try it
like this sauce.

Speaker 7 (42:45):
What's an animal that you would compare the gallon Colorado to?

Speaker 3 (42:48):
Oh, a whale that's not always in the water though,
a seal? No way, uh uh manate not always in
the water.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Nailed it.

Speaker 9 (43:01):
Walris, Walrius tooth, Walris Beard, Walris face, Walris eyeballs, Walris.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Zach help him out flipper things. I don't know what
Walrus is, Yes, you know what they have though they
have a sales tusk. What the way? Well, I don't know.
I don't really think about Walris's. If it's a boy,
Walris Penis, why why? Why did they do that? I

(43:27):
don't know if somebody stole it. How did it take
us that long to guess Walris Penis?

Speaker 7 (43:32):
Yeah, title of the podcast, Yeah, said thatch.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
The whole question.

Speaker 7 (43:39):
How did it take that long for us to guess
Walris Penis?

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Tomorrow?

Speaker 7 (43:44):
I doubt we'll bring up a Walris Penis, but you
never know. It's the Morney Show, five thirty to nine.
I expect John Cristil tomorrow, right, no reason why you're
not going to be here. Parish will be here, Marnie
will be here. I think it's one hundred and seven thousand.
I think it was one O six five last week?

Speaker 4 (43:58):
Was it not?

Speaker 7 (43:58):
Sounds correct, So we'll tell you for sure tomorrow, but
I believe it's one hundred and seven thousand dollars up
for grabs with the initials jackpot thanks to Saint Paul
Federal Credit Union.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
That'll be at eight to fifteen normal four tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (44:10):
That'll be fun. We'll start at five point thirty, that'll
be great. We'll end at eight fifty five. We'll see
you tomorrow. Nine to noon is next as we can handle.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Ready for now, you two, haven't that be?

Speaker 9 (44:23):
Love you
