Speaker 1 (00:00):
Connecticut is facing a salt shortage. We had one storm.
What what would we do if we got hit Sunday?
We had one? How much did you dump? It's January thirtieth.
The mismanagement of sand and salt always blows my mind.

(00:22):
They even say in some Connecticut towns, crews have been
reducing the amount they apply to the roads, which kind
of confirms my suspicions. But at the same time, you know,
just worry about the storm, an not be like, eh,
they should be all right if everybody takes it these
let's let's be stringing with it. The good news is,

(00:45):
they say. The press release I'm gonna get is that
meteorologists are saying this weekend storm will miss Connecticut. What
what if it wasn't? What if the groundhog on Tuesday?
On Groundhog's Day? He says, we got six You know,
winter's not over. I mean, I know Connecticut's groundhog died.

(01:06):
Was Oh you missed that one too. I I believe
it was suicide. I think the Connecticut groundhog actually took
its own life. Yeah, yeah, it was a mysterious there's
a lot of I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist.
Oh why was I doing it last year? I might
have been. I remember I was on a different show
when it happened and we were talking about it and stuff.

(01:28):
It was mysterious. It was you didn't want to live
here anymore. Moved to Texas. Who could blame him? Now? Uh?
They In this press release, I'm to relay to you
as a broadcaster that the governor has said he's spoken
with the Connecticut Department the DOT and has requested more Saul.
So he's speaking it's weather related. Yeah, so he has

(01:50):
made that request. I don't know how we've had such
wicked winter. I mean there were a couple of winters
where I read stories of were about to run out,
and we've had six to eight storms, and it kind
of made a sort of sense. This has been you know,
we had one storm. I mean we got to hit
a little bit, I guess in December, but nothing serious.

(02:13):
East Line in particular. They single out one time. They
say they had to reduce salt application to conserve what
was a short supply already going in. Well, prepare, prepare
for the winter. You know what it is. I think
we had too many late winters, so towns in a
never ending, always looking to cut corners and save a

(02:36):
few bucks, even though it's they're pigging, piggybacking off of us.
Probably like to add the last six seven it we
ate so much. We don't need as much this year.
It's just mismanagement really at the end of the day. Nonetheless,
Lamont that I'm the last line of this press release

(02:57):
to that I'm to say to you. Is Lamont said
he thinks the dot will be able to get more
salt soon. Okay, sounds good. He thinks it's a maybe
and maybe on Monday, Groundhog's Day, we'll find out that
there's no more winter weather for us to worry about.

(03:20):
But I doubt it. I mean, I would imagine we're
going to get a little bit more action. And it's
unbelievable to me that I'm being sent press releases about
Connecticut facing a salt shortage on January thirtieth, twenty twenty six,
with how much more time? What's the first day of spring?

(03:40):
What does it March April? I mean, I mean, it's
a ways off. These town's got to do a better
job of it doesn't matter if we're trending the last
three years, we haven't needed as much get the same amount,
be prepared. I'm sure it holds. I'm sure it sits.
But there you have it. The Governor has put in

(04:01):
a formal request for more Sol
