I still lived in New Aven, not that it isn't anymore,
but it was like right down the street from where
I lived and got rock, so I got my Did

roof rakes became all the rage, clear the snow off
your roof or your roof is gonna collapse. It was
about ten years ago because we were getting so much snow,
so relentlessly, and here we are in twenty twenty secs,
all of snow of the first storm, the only snow
we've had such easy winters, really, and back then I

remember I was bugged out about that. It made sense,
that's a lot of snow sitting around then I remember
thinking back, I'm like, in the blizzard of seventy eight,
I think my father did get up on our three
season porch. He was able to there and push snow
off there, but you couldn't possibly get to the roof
of the thousand and you would be endured. But also,

if I'm remembering correctly, I was reporting on Cavens so
Goodies kind talked about him on the air. I'm like,
what is this new concoction? And one of the Cats
boys reached out, they said, we got let everybody know,
we've got your roof Rakes and Vin will hold one
aside for you because they were always good to me.
Family run business, and I'll tell you the one thing
I can say about them. And I mean this too,

because I am not a fan of the price gouger
and they don't play that game. I really got into
that once with one of my colleagues here, hardcore conservative
who's like absolutely supply and demand. Man, if you're smack
dab in the middle of a blizzard and there's a need,
I'm like, but what if the website says nineteen ninety nine,

(02:34):
you're the owner, you could say we are selling these
are now selling for ninety nine dollars. I'm like, well,
I would never frequent that place again, and he's like,
can you have every right to as a consumer. It's
an interesting exchange. He supported it supply and demand, and
I was like, I think that's an ugly practice and
I wouldn't. I'd hold it against them. Beyond that, I
had a sponsor on the air at the time right

down the street batteries plus. That's all he was was by,
which makes sure you all have your battery. That's the
main thing going into this kind of stuff. He called
in during one of the storms that I slept here
that night because don't forget we live in New England,
and it snowed a lot, and and snow was a lot,
and he was given away free batteries that day. I mean,

there are business owners who go that route and then
the others who today it goes for four hundred and
ninety five dollars and you're like, it's a pen
