crowd here. They're they're not here for us, they're Christmas
shopping early, so they they got they got here really early.
And they also heard they heard that Tom Bernard is
going to be here, so they're super excited that Tom
(00:22):
Bernard is going to be here. Wow, you know, we
we we got here I don't know, half an hour
or so ago, and there were some guys that got
here at like four o'clock in the morning. Somebody flew
in from Arizona to be here for the for the last,
for the last show. And uh, I've been kind of
nervous that nobody was going to show up because I
told I told Evelyn from the Street Team, I thought
it was going to be me and you and the show.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
And there's actually, I don't know a good number of people.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, there's a lot of people here. We haven't let
them sit yet because they have to earn their seats.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
What I kid, I.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Did any minute now, we'll get we'll get you in here.
Last night we all went out to Crave and when
I say all, we had everybody that's ever been on
the show except Lee falls Vick and Jamie and Wilson,
but everybody that's like Lena and Angie and intern John
and Steve, and we just had so many people.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Chrisco showed up, Crisco was there. It was like the
Avengers of KDWB all sar Us. It was.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
It was just crazy and in a little surreal and
I looked around the room and I'm like, Wow, there's
so many great, wonderful people. And we laughed and we
had a good time, and we swore so loudly. We
were in a little private room, and I was worried
because there were so many swear words that we were
all telling stories really at the top of our lungs,
and I was worried the people outside of the crave
(01:41):
would be like, can you tell those people in there
to stop swearing?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Nah, they were good with it.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
I think my favorite part was Dave stood up at
one point to give a little toast. It took about
fifteen minutes for him to get through the toast because
no one would shut the up.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yes, it was.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Like Dave's like, all right, everybody, and then someone had
some jab at him and then he'd started guess.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Freaking core Foley would not shdow. I'm kidding constantly. Did
you guys have a good time last night?
Speaker 5 (02:07):
I'm so excited because I got to meet Lena, and
Lena is my favorite, and she hugged me once and
I was like, I smelled her hair as she hugged me.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
This is the.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Greatest moment of my life.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
The good news is that Lena loved it herself too,
so it didn't end up being creepy.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
I don't think this was good.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
That's proper.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, it was a ton of fun and there's pictures
on Instagram. Now they're now they're letting people in here.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Thank goodness, they're walking in front of the camera. Yeah,
if there's.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Even a sign in the crowd, like we're at.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
A Consoles his Dave and Hiram versus or over everything every.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Twent sixteen. I love this. Wow, I love that.
Speaker 1 (02:43):

was seriously injured in a in a putting green accident.
I've heard those are common these days. Well, there they are,
and it's it's kind of tragic. And he lost four
limbs and a putting green four limbs which ones. Uh,
this one, this one, this one and that one. Yeah,
where is Mama Randa?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
She's talking, she's by Starbucks.

We're very much looking forward to the roast.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
And we were all talked about who were worried about
doing the roast because STEVEO has no filter? No, and
I said, you cannot swear, you cannot say the M word,
you cannot say the F word, you can't say the
c S word.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
And he's like, do what I want, Do what I want.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
He's like crossing off things on.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
His He already started his roast last night because he
had notes already and he started going and he's like,
all right, I.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Can't use that.
Speaker 2 (03:38):

know I've met somewhere at the fair or at Maynard's
or somewhere. And there's so many faces that I know.
And then there's so many faces that I met a
kid a little while ago. He's probably like twenty twenty
five years old now. The only time I met him
when he was like eight years old at the fair
and he had a picture.
Speaker 2 (04:38):

Speaker 6 (05:49):
We ordered apps right, and shout out to your wife, Susan,
because nobody everybody was like kumbay a mingling. Nobody was

I was like yes, And it was a big ass
plate of leftover.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Angie Taylor ate like three bites of her meal and
she's like, no, I'm done, and I literally watched the
waitress pick it up and walk away with him.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I was like, no, he's got class. She's got class.
I could have eaten that well.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Bailey and I had not eaten all day yesterday till
we got to crave, and then the appetizers came, and
there's Corey Foley telling me the longest story in the world.
I'm joking, Corey, but it did go on and on,
and I'm like, oh, home or story? Carry no Saturn
is Corey Foley? And I will tell you. I'm so
glad I did, because I'd forgotten how much I'd love
(06:42):
I love Corey Foley. Do you guys remember Corey Foley?
You remember Corey Foley. Corey was on from two thousand
and three to two thousand and seven. Who came after
Corey Foley? Do you remember Lena?
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Lena? Lena?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, and then and then Fallon ran after Lena, and

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Years now for me, twenty sixteen.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
I'm so tired. You guys. Intern John got me drinking
straight whiskey last night, so.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
You were seriously They had the whiskey with like the
one big ice cube in it, and I'm.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Like, yeah, I'm not hungover, I'm just very tired.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
So yeah, I gotcha.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Sixteen is what I meant.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Why the big ice cube?
Speaker 6 (07:32):
I am not like a bar drinker, Like I really
didn't drink until I was twenty one.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I had those types of parents.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
It doesn't melt as quickly.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, so it's like it keeps it chilled. You don't
want it to water down the whiskey.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
Oh okay, I know nothing about drinks ice flakes are
for girls.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, for me, Yeah, David.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
We have some people that are entering some little mementos
in that box with some notes for you.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
So I want to read a couple that's sorry, I think.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So these are notes that are people that are writing
as they as they've come in. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
So this one says, Hi, Dave. I've been listening to
you for many years since childhood. You are a part
of my daily routine. I listened in the morning into
the podcast after my school day. You've helped me through
major life changes. Thank you for all the years of
last and tears. Thank you for saying I look like
John Denver, who then said was a hot lady. And
this comes from Jackie l O L. So I'm sorry
(08:21):
you said that out.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Oh god, what a gop of But that's funny. Denver
was hot back in the day.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Though.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I do have another one that I had to kind
of dissect, but I'm pretty sure it just says.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Tuna, why tuna?
Speaker 5 (08:33):
I don't know, you know, no, it's you know.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
I'm sorry. I thought it's.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Say where is tuna? Or you know, where are you?
Where are you?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
But all it says is, you know, what's the message.
It's her name.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
She's just saying, you know, she's like four.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Next time thought it said tuna.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Upside down. This one is a day thank you for
all your years at Katie.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I've listened since day one. You will be messed, but
I wish you the best in your retirement.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
This comes from Beth.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Thank you, Beth. I'm going to save all these by
the way you are. I put them in a shoe box.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
Now.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
I'm not going to read all of these.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Okay, it's too much, but I'll read one more right now, Dave,
my dad and I listen to you every morning on
the way to school, every day, starting in kindergarten. I'm
twenty nine now. Thanks for the laughs. They didn't sign
their names, but they know who they are.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Let me ask a question by making noise. Who here
used to listen with their mom or dad on the
way to school?
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Did you okay?
Speaker 1 (09:34):
And and you would hear things like War of the
Roses and then you would have to ask your mom,
what is that?
Speaker 2 (09:41):
How do you want to say some of the words what?
Speaker 7 (09:43):
What?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I won't say it, never buy, I don't care for
so and now who listens with their kid on the
way to school themselves. There's a lot of people that
do that's so that is so cool, really appreciate.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
It, and I read some of them. We're on YouTube
live Dave r Ian TV.

about on the radios, worried that nobody would show up
for this, and we're like standing room only, So what
the hell were you guys thinking? Don't you you can
have a job? A job? No, thank you, thank you,
thank you so much for being here. That means the
world to me because I gotta live on this for
the next like thirty forty years or whatever.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Thirty forty years, four last forty more years?

You should be a shame to yourselves cancer. You know
who taught me that?

a creaky.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I'll tell you every time.
Speaker 4 (11:20):

Speaker 2 (11:20):
But we're gonna take a break.
Speaker 1 (11:22):

pole that.
Speaker 4 (12:18):

Speaker 9 (12:19):
Dave Bryan lets me right in the eyes and said,

Makes a noise? You got a dog?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:50):
So you clip these to the dog's leash, and then
you clip the poop bag down here on the bottom.
Because I used to tie Josies around her collar. There
was a poop bag dangling from her callar.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
But it looked like, you know, like, no, that doesn't
look right. So clip a doo Etsy Dot, why don't.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
They got creepy stuff. Down to Kmart. If you have
the power, We're going to Kmart.
Speaker 13 (23:56):
Let's go Kmart.
Speaker 9 (23:57):
Just give me your wallet.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
And here live on stage. It's Alison. Oh my god,
Alice said, oh my god, Alison, give me a breaka
the Hollister Song. What do you remember about the Hollister Song?
Allison's got three kids of her own now, but she
used to go to Hollis for it's all lot. Where
are the kids right now in the car? Well, they're
(24:22):
they're sleeping in the car. They're fine, Yeah, they're fine.
But Alison was like fifteen years old or so something
like that. And then back when we used to like,
you know, people used to call the request line. I remember,
I used to call the request line and request songs
and then the DJ would would never play it. Remember
those again, And so we used to keep a tally
of the requests they came in. And one day the
(24:43):
Hollister Song at its pete got something like sixteen hundred
requests in a day.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
It was one after another.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Why because it's brilliant and you sound amazing.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
That's why I sound like I'm twelve.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Well I think I was, but you know you were
you ever? You were about twelve years old.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
The best part So Allison, you grew up obviously with
a father in radio. But we already know that. Okay,
we want the details. What was he like as a dad?
Mike tell us about him?
Speaker 13 (25:09):
Uh, you know, if you want him to like walk
through target and shout out, Allison, how's your diarrhea?
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Like that's kind of what it was like.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Yeah, that's a good bit.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yes, not kidding.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Well, she would hate to go out with me and
mom because when you're fourteen or fifteen, your parents are
really embarrassing and you think everybody's looking at you.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
They're not, but you think there are.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
So we were walking through targeting, like, Alison, you still
got diarrhea?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
How do you feel when we randomly call you during
the morning show and we're like, hey, Alison, we know
you have three kids now, but we're gonna need you
to perform for.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Us real quick. How does that make you feel?
Speaker 13 (25:49):
I mean, if I see my phone ringing and it's
between the hours of six and ten, I'm like, I
better get myself ready here.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Yeah, you don't know what happen.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Better stop brushing my teeth. Was there any good parts?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
I mean, you got to meet you got to meet
Hillary Duff and like other celebrities, do you remember anything
in particular?
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Hillary was definitely a highlight. You're gonna go see her
at the Mystic Lake Ampetheater. Y.
Speaker 13 (26:16):
Yeah, I don't know. I feel like I really remember
the Last Chance Summer Dance when it was like one
hundred degrees and the Backstory Boys didn't show up, and was.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Anybody here at that show? That show was legendary. I'll
tell you really quick. I've told you before. The Backstreet
Boys were at their peak and they were so huge,
and they were headlining Last Chance Summer Dance down at
Canterbury Park outdoor show September but ninety five degrees and
so all these fourteen year old Backstreet Boys fans, we
(26:49):
let them in. It was general admission, there was no seating,
and so they all rushed up to the front. There
was a chain league fence at the front. They all
rushed up there, and the Backstreet Boys wouldn't be on
for another six hours, but there they were, and they
knew they couldn't leave because if they left, they would
lose their spot.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
They'd never get back there again.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
So they sat up there, got dehydrated in the ninety
five degree sun, you remember this, and they started to
drop like flies. And so we stood up on stage.
We said, you're crushing the people in the front. Can
you take three steps backward? Nobody would were like, please
take three steps backward, So people would take three steps backward,
and here comes these people from the side to fill
(27:27):
in the space that they just left. And so the
Backstreet Boys and they never even showed up. I mean
three of them were there. So how he was out
because he had like a family emergency. But Nick, they
could have done it with four, but Nick missed his
flight from Tampa. Freaking Nick Carter, Ah, I do it
without him, And so there was no Backstreet Boys. So
(27:49):
we thought these fourteen year old girls were gonna riot.
Then we realized, wow, they're fourteen year old girls. They're
not gonna be much of a riot. So the Ban
five and you remember this, Bailey, We've talked about this,
the Ban five baby.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
When the lights go out, and.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
They were there and they're like, if you want us
to kind of appease the crowd, we can go out
and sing our song again.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
And we're like, sure, why not.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
It didn't help much, but I always remember that, So yeah,
what a great wow memory.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Can I have another question, Do you remember the time
that Dave treated you like a drunk buddy and pulled
the chair out from underneath.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
You, and you fell.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
How could I forget?
Speaker 4 (28:30):
What was your thought?
Speaker 3 (28:30):
I know you were a young child at that moment,
Well what was your thought that your dad just did
that to youst good, bitchy, just another day of Davis.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
As your dad.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
No, she was sitting in front of the TV in
her little rocking chair. She got up and I can
still see her in her little uh Rugrats pajamas, and
she stood up to get something, and I'm like, here's
an idea. I mean tumbled like all the way back,
and I immediately felt horrible about it.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I'm like, Dad, we're not on the radio. You can hill, Yeah,
you can start.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
It's all time for you to leave. Alison give it
up for Alice out.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
We are coming up in the next hour. Gary Spivey
is gonna be here. I saw Extreme Jamie wandering a
little while ago. Jamie will be here for the roast.
You're also gonna do an Extreme Jamie stunt. You know
this right, you're aware of this.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Come on up, Jamie. Why not? You're here early.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Extreme Jamie everywhere Extreme Jamie. Yeah, He's like, come on,
good god, DJs, I'm telling you, hey, it's awesome. This
is amazing. Is it crazy?
Speaker 7 (29:40):
I got like nervous energy again, like holy cow, and
I might throw my back out later because I'm now
fifty one years old.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
We'll do a stunt.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
The funny thing is, Jamie came by the radio station.
You went to school at Concordia and you got an
internship over at the radio station. And we thought Jamie
was so funny, and he's like, he's a really funny
guy and he's fun to hang out with. So we're like,
do you want to work here? So we put him
on the morning show. And that was at the time
when extreme sports were really big, like Jackass and all
these stupid stunts, and so we said, let's call him
(30:09):
Extreme Jamie. I was watching the Extreme Games or something
like that. I said, let's call him Extreme Jamie. So
we said, let's have him do some different stunts. Here,
give me some of the stunts that you remember when
you back when you did these stunts on the radio.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Not much after my eighth concussion, No, I think one
of my first ones was going down the steps in
a barrel. Here's the funny thing is, we said we
were going down the steps of the state Capitol. But
we got kicked out, didn't in front of the cathedral
and Saint Paul, and I kept saying, oh.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
God, Oh God, Oh God.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
And then I get out of the barrel and there's
a bunch of nuns looking at me like what You're
going to hell?
Speaker 1 (30:50):
But yeah, literally had you inside of a metal barrel
and rolled you down the stairs.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
Well, I went to the hospital because I got the
taser gun like the cops have. I trashed the car intentionally.
I was the last person to repel from the ceiling
of the Target Center. Yes, because of the wrestler who
passed away that same night.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
That night and another city.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
Yes, I was the last person to repel from the
ceiling of the Target Center. I took the sled down
the steps like Crunch used to when I was practicing.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
I failed miserably and broke to ribs.
Speaker 7 (31:25):
I panicked and stuck my foot out and went propelling
into the seats.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Oh my gosh, yeah wow. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Can they let you do that?
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Because I've worked for the Timberwolves and Crunch is like
a trained professional, Well, they just let you come.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
In and like, go at it.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Jenny. The station took on a five dollars insurance policy
five dollars.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Well, you know, it was a different time and some
of the things we did back in the day we
could never get away with now, like pet by mail.
Does anybody remember pets bymail dot com. Pets bymail dot
com was a horrible April Fool's joke, and I'll tell
you the brief version. So we thought, well, we want
to do an April fools a joke or a radio station,
So let's come up with a fake business online pets
(32:05):
bymail dot com. And we ran these ads on Katie
abb that said, yes, just go on pets bymail dot
com and if your animal doesn't arrive alive, simply mail
back the carcass for a full refund. And so people
were just up in arms. And then so you would
go on April fools Day, you would go to petsbymail
dot com and it would say coming soon until then,
and then on April Fools Day it would say April fool.
(32:28):
But the Carver County Sheriff's Department somehow heard about it,
and by the time it got to them, I again
not true. But by the time it got to them,
I had an illegal puppy mill in my basement. So
so the sheriff knocks on the door and I tried
to explain that you see so and he's like, just
take the website down. I'm like Booker, Extreme, Jamie, everybody,
(32:49):
they'll be back.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
And they sat ahead. Thank you evermuch to do. Another
stunt coming up in a few minutes. Are you ready?
Do you know what you're gonna do? Yeah? Yes, your wife? Yeah, okay, good,
that's coming up.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
We're gonna take it to break live from Mall of
America The Dave Ryan in the Morning Show on kd WB.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Right
