Speaker 1 (00:00):
And here we are the final three hours of the
Dave Ryan Show. Get a shout out to Aaron who
brought by that sign yesterday that said one on one
point three to three and it was a what one
hundred and one?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
What what is? Okay? I got into my po thirty
three passable years. Yeah, and then I think it was
one or something.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Yeah, here it is, Yeah, one hundred and one, good bitch,
thirty three passable years.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Thank you, Aaron.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
And you can see in the picture I'm looking at
he's real proud of himself because he thinks he's so funny.
He's like laugh, he's laughing at himself. He actually was
very funny.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
He was.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
He's a funny guy.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
And I'm going to miss him and so many other
people and I can't name them all, but I'm going
to try. No, you don't know why, because I would
forget somebody. Yeah, so I will make a short list
a little bit later on. What else is going on?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Jenny. We're gonna play this new song real quick. Okay,
we're going to get back. We'll get back to talking
about you. What is this song anyway?
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yeah, I mean it's a new song for the FIFA
World Cup twenty twenty six. So we've got Lisa Anita
Vaughn helped me.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
That's amo that sings common down dayah and yeah it's
called goals.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Okay, let's play it on K D doubull u b.
That is it's called goals. You probably could have guessed
that they say say the word goals of fifteen hundred
times on there. It's from the FIFA World Cup twenty
twenty six with Lisa Anita Rema Fifa sound so kind of.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Cool, kind of cool, kind of cool. You know, we're
trying to pick up on trendy thing. Yeah, Jenny was
working it. We liked it.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Bailey her first thing out of her mouth was like,
I hate it, and Bailly I kind of like it.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
A couple of minutes later she's like, oh, I kind
of like it. That medal was good.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
If it hadn't started with goals goals, gold, gol goals,
goals and gold, then I probably.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Would have liked it. Yeah, you got to hook me
in from the beginning. Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
It is Dave and Jenny and Bailey and Vaunt all
together for one last time today. I want to give
a shout out to everybody who came out to Mall
of America yesterday. We had such a great time. It
was surreal and so much fun. And I hope we
get a chance to say hi and get a selfie.
And I really try to get to as many people
as I can. I know I didn't get to everybody,
but I really did try. And thank you for coming out.
(02:05):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Yeah, and coming up, we are going to do a
little tribute to Dave and we're going to play a
fun little game that involves Bailey slapping him.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, maybe on my last day, hear this one last time?
Speaker 6 (02:18):
That frictionne just slapping with your bare hand.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Did we get rid of the slipper slap slipper? We did, so,
Bailey's just got to use her hands. Sorry day.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
I've never seen a stronger hand for slapping in my
life than Billy's.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I got long piano fingers for slapping.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Okay, we'll be right back. Okay, we'll be right back
on k d w B The.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Dave Ryan Show on k d w B.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Oh, stop with all that quit is stop it stop
it speaking of stop at Allison's going to come by
a little bit later on.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I think Carson's going to be here, Susan's going to
be here.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, And because I've always thought for years, like my
last day, I always like pictured like, you know, writing
down the elevator with Allison and her kind of looking
like she used to come in to work with me
when she was a little girl. She would come into
work like five years old. She wear her little Elmo
backpack and she would sit on the floor and color
or do puzzles, and she'd be.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Like, can I go get a doughnut?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
So Lee Olswick would walk her down to the deli
and get her a donut. And then Carson would come
in when he was about the same agent. He'd sit
underneath the table where we work in the old studio
across the hall, and he would watch videos on his phone,
and then Chase would come in. And that's what inspired
Chase to get into broadcasting, was watching his dad. And
now he's Chase go lightly on Kate. You can follow
(03:38):
Chase Chase go lightly on k p h X in Phoenix. So, yeah,
what are we doing on the show, Jenny?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
And then you know what, I think this is a
good transition then, because speaking of your children, I thought
it was important for them to be a part.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Of this day.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
So I do have a little message from each of
your four children.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
You do not play them for you. We're gonna have
Chase go first.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
How crazy would it be with fin this moment, it
was just Bailey doing impressions.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Here's baby. Hey Dad, it's Chase.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Just wanted to wish you a happy last day at work.
I know it's really bittersweet. We are all so incredibly
proud of you for all the hard work and dedication
you've put in for the last thirty three years at KATIEWB.
I know you've poured your heart and soul into what
you do in the community, and it's really been so
cool to hear so many viewers reaching out and sharing
(04:31):
what you've meant to them. You absolutely deserve it, and
you also deserve to have this time off after everything
you've accomplished and enjoy your next adventure. I really wish
I could have been there to celebrate with you, but
I'll be having some whiskey tonight in your honor, my boy.
Love you, Dad, and congratulations. You know what's funny he
called people listeners or viewers. Oh, he said, so many viewers,
(04:55):
Because in the TV world that's what you call the
people who watched the show.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, an anchor. He's such whatever that is voice. He's
mostly a reporter. He's like a big reporter.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
On KPAHS the kpach X. But he's also he gets
to anchor the weekends once in a while.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
He's got such a report of voice sometimes. Yeah, he's
so good. All right, next kid, Hey.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
Dad, it's me Beth. I just wanted to say congratulations
on your retirement after an incredible thirty three years on
one on one point three Katiewd. I'm so proud of
everything you've accomplished and all the people whose lives you've
touched over the years. One of my favorite memories that
you tell me about all the time is when I
was around eleven years old and I was sitting in
(05:34):
the studio at six in the morning or so dropping
muffin crumbs everywhere while you were trying to work. Memories
like that mean so much to me, and I know
you've created countless memories for your listeners during their drives
to work and school. Thank you for showing us what
hard work, passion, and dedication look like every single day.
Enjoy your next chapter, Dad, You've more than earned it.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Ah, Bet, that is so sweet.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
We were at Universal Studios in Florida, and Beth used
to live in Orlando, so I picked her up and
she would come by the broadcast from the studios down there,
and somebody brought in muffins. And there's Beth sitting on
a stool that was way too high for her her
legs and little like little white sneakers that were filthy,
and she's like swinging her legs back and forth, eating
muff and crumbs everywhere. Eleven years old, totally oblivious to
(06:17):
the mess she's making. This so adorable, so adnorable.
Speaker 8 (06:20):
Hey, Dad, wishing you a happy retirement last day on KATAWB.
I can't wait to see all the future ukulele playing,
magic tricks and bird watching things you get up to.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
You deserve it.
Speaker 8 (06:34):
You've worked so hard over the last thirty three years
at KATAWB, making some great memories, and we are so
proud of you and wishing you all of the best
in the next exciting adventures to come.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Love you. I know that she's going to be in later,
but I still wanted her to record that is she
is so sweet.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
She was on stage yesterday to talk for a little bit,
and she was like, I'm so nervous.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
I'm be so nervous. She did great. That's why she
told her.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
I said, a lot of the time, when you think
you're really nervous, it doesn't show at all, so you
know it. But she is so sweet and she has
put up with I mean, she was one when I
started here, and she grew up with hearing her dad
on the radio, and I think, you know, you get
to a point where it's like kind of embarrassing because like,
is that your dad on the radio. Yeah, But she
(07:21):
did the Hollister song, and she did a bunch of
other bits here and there, and she was just great.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
So all right, last one from boy Hey Dad, it's Carson.
Speaker 9 (07:31):
I'm actually recording this at the second last ever.
Speaker 10 (07:35):
Dave Ryan show at the MOA.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
It's so crazy to say that.
Speaker 9 (07:39):
Congratulations on your amazing career you've had, working your whole
life in radio, doing something you love, inspiring people, making
them laugh, making their mornings.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Through basically your whole life.
Speaker 10 (07:53):
Congratulations on your much deserved retirement. I'm so proud of you,
but I cannot wait to see what you do in
your retirement life and spend more time and spend some
mornings together.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Ah, buddy, like I'm done. I got to leave this space.
Carson had like.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
A whirlwind last few days, so he apologized for being
late sending that over, and I was like, buddy, as
long as I got it by Friday, I don't kill.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
He was on a tour with an artist that I'm
not going to name because I don't want to embarrass
the artists because I don't know whether they're here that
they're a great artist, and they just had a really
run of bad luck. So they went to Europe for
a seven date concert tour. Every date was canceled. Every
date was canceled, even though they were there for twelve days,
because the artist was not able to get a visa.
(08:40):
So Carson went all the way to Europe and took
all the gear and all the arrangements and flights and
meals and hotels and everything, and they never did a
single show.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Such a bummer. I just felt so bad for the artists.
I felt so bad for Carson.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
So we got a lot of texts Dave saying that
Chase sounds just like you.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
That's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, it's very much like you.
But you could tell he just does news. Hey Dad,
it's Chase.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Just wanted to wish you a happy last day at work.
I know it's really bittersweet. We are all so incredibly
proud of you for all the hard work and dedication
you've put in for the Like I don't know, do
we have any announcery like Young Day?
Speaker 5 (09:18):
Do we have any Young Dave clips that we can
play real quick?
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Give me a second. Yeah, I don't know. Do we
have any of you on your first, second, third day?
Speaker 11 (09:27):
No?
Speaker 1 (09:27):
I wish I would have saved the cassette of those
How old is Chase thirty three?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
In June thirty two? Now okay, wow memories.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Well no, that's all of your children giving you a
little tribute. But then your children here on the Morning
Show have also created a tribute. And by us, I
mean vont put us together. And I really want you
to prepare yourself because I heard twenty seconds of it
and I started crying already.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah, listened to and it's not just me.
Speaker 6 (09:57):
This is the make a culmination of everything that you
mean to everybody in the Twin Cities.
Speaker 2 (10:03):

your car and you as well, Dave. Okay, thanks, all right,
so here you go. I'm really gonna miss Dave because
You've been a part of my morning for so long,
since I was a little girl. Thank you for being
a voice of comfort.
Speaker 12 (10:19):
Another turn up on the Fox, stuck in the world
done grabbed your father as directs you were to go.
Speaker 13 (10:28):
I feel like I grew up with you because we
are just a year or two apart.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
You are going to be missed greatly.
Speaker 14 (10:34):
You deserve this.
Speaker 15 (10:35):

Speaker 2 (10:36):

to be able to retire.
Speaker 2 (10:51):

I hope that you have a great retirement.
Speaker 18 (11:29):
I've never been written up as an employee my entire life,
but I would get to work early and sit in
my car and I wouldn't go into work until War
the Roses was over, And then finally got written up
and I was crying in the Box's office and like
why are you late?
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I'm like, I can't leave the War the Ropes?
Speaker 5 (11:44):
That some memories and that gin on child, what sweat

Speaker 2 (11:52):
All the while it's Sun non great tech telephone. But
in the UND you had the time of your life.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Our family moved from the thirty to Minnesota about nine
years ago.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
We found your Warning show and listened to it all
the time. It was Filippole.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
Hey got my son it's radio, so much so that
he insisted he get a radio that runs off the
batteries and you have to actually turn that ill to
find the station.

Speaker 17 (12:30):
And we love you and I'm with.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
You that that's something no great tact up.
Speaker 12 (12:35):
But Dad, that's right, Help you had that time. Love
your life.
Speaker 15 (12:40):
I've been listening to you for like twenty five years.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
I'm almost nervous.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
To see what the show is gonna be like without
You're never ever gonna be another show like the Dave
Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
It's something unprejectable.
Speaker 20 (12:53):
Then, that's right.
Speaker 12 (12:55):
Help you have the dime of your life.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Wow, that was beautiful. Yeah yeah, and cheer it up
really really good. I know those are not easy to
put together, but thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
It's a testament to you.
Speaker 6 (13:21):
Not to be corny, but you know, it's a testament
to you and everything you have meant to anybody that
has listened to the show, even if you listened one time,
made somebody smile, made somebody forget that they were going
through a breakup, or you know, something difficult in their lives.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
You've done that for thirty three years.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I appreciate that. I mean, I can't even tell you.
I mean, seriously, I didn't expect to get this tiary
this early in the morning. Thank you, Jenny, appreciate You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
I expect this.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
I knew Vought was putting this together, and I couldn't
even like listen to it because I started crying.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, I was like so good. She was like, no,
I can't. I literally was like I can't listen to anymore.
But all right, that's enough. We're gonna have some fun now.
All right, we are going to play a little game.
(14:17):
So we do love you enough that we did get
you some.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Presents, and you know you have to earn a present
on this show.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
You don't just get to have the process.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
So we're going to play a little game where basically
we're going to ask you questions and see how much
you actually remember about the three of us here, because
you'll you'll forget us by tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
And if you get it wrong, Bailey, it's a slap you.
If you get it right, you get a present. Oh no,
she gets too serious. I know she does. That's why
we chose her because von and I will be too weak.
I'm going to fire this here. We have a little
fun thing for it and.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Like I said, we're going to each ask them questions
about ourselves. So the first question David about me is
what dorm did I live.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
At the Centennial? That is not pioneer. No, no, you
always say Pio. It's not always say pile.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Don't do any harder than that. When you get older,
your teeth get loose.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yeah, so you don't want to, by the way.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
I said, it was front to you. By the way,
was my dorm?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Isn't there a plaque on your old dorm room? Said?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
This is the site where people.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I asked the next question, David, what is my actual
full name?
Speaker 1 (15:39):
I know this one, Davante. I don't know your middle name,
Davante Leak.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Do you want him to have the middle name?
Speaker 5 (15:46):
I want?
Speaker 6 (15:46):
Yeah, because we make this bit somebody somebody hat Carl, Yeah,
we make this bit von Carl.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
That's not really my name, Carl, not even my middle name.
But Davante, I'll give Carl. I'll give you Davante Carl.
Is that right either?
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Carl was part of the bit. Davante A mere Leak.
I don't think I knew that, knew that all right.
I'm sure you told me one time, But I didn't care.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
No slap on that one.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
Bailey.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I need you to ask a question or did you
send me your questions? Okay, all right, David?
Speaker 5 (16:12):
What was the name of the boy who I fell
in love with who turned.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Out to be gay? Which one? Any of the first one? Sydney?
That's Incorrectydney? All right, Sydney.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Eddy?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
And a hard one you're relish? All right? So if
are you one? One president? One president? We're gonna go
around the room again. Dave, this is an easy one.
What is my mother's name? That would be Cindy? Congratulations?
You got that one, right. Question. Have you got any
(16:51):
naked pictures of your mom? I don't? Do you want
to buy some? Sold? All right? We got Dave? What
does my grandma call me?
Speaker 1 (17:03):
And why she calls you boom? But you have no
idea why? That's correct?
Speaker 2 (17:09):
You get another one of my favorite co reading jokes.
We did.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
Dave said, my grandma calls me boom because she is
every time she sees me that I'd blow up.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Okay, Bailey, all right, Dave, what was the name of
my Puerto Rican boyfriend who ended up in a gay throttle?
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Uh? Skeeter? No, oh god, you could hear it. Okay,
so we got three presents on the board. We can't
have too many.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
We can't ask too many more questions because we don't
have that many presents.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
But I will keep going.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Uh, Dave, what was the name of my first dog
when I was very young?
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I know this one.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
It was a little It was a little dog, a
little dog. You love that dog so much. Name was Booger.
Booger was Booger the dog?
Speaker 4 (17:58):
You can be more wrong, very big husky. Ow was Cheeter.
Her name was Cheeter.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
So that's a slap, all right, v Dave? What city
was I born in? New Jersey? Trenton? That's correct, Okay, Bailey?
All right, Dave. What's my cat's name? And who is
he named after? Oh? This is an easy one. Booger.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
No, it's a It's cap and named after Katie Cat.
I found that was kind of hot. Yeah, she's kind
of hot.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah. All right.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
We have to end at this point because I don't
have enough presents to keep going.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Because you did earn five. I'm gonna slowly give them
to you. Oh, I love present all right.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
I did put them in a bag, But now I
realize I'm just gonna hand it to you anyway.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Fabulous. All right, here's your first present. It was free.
You don't have to say that.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Okay, Well ahead, best bike rides in Minneapolis and St.
Paul because you know what, that is beautiful? Because I
got the e bike at Eric's Bike Shop exactly. Susan
got one too. We both love them.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
All right, that's your first Eric's Bike Shop.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
The next one, I realized I didn't really thank you.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Well, this is from all of that. Here's another one.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
You're gonna maybe have to open this one to understand
what this one is.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Is it a tie? I think it's a tie. Okay,
what is it? I love it already. It's a grappler
for old people.
Speaker 13 (19:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
It's one of those SQUEZ. You don't have to hurt yourself.
You don't have to bend down anymore. I can pick
stuff up. Look at that as a grappler.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
Yeah, your muscles can start to atrophy now for a
couple of years.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Sec. It's a biscuit checker. Oh god, he's going to
come back to the studio and just have that. All right.
Here's another one, another president. Yeah. Yeah, it's heavy.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Oh my god, you'll probably have to open it to
see what actually is written on it and stuff.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, okay, okay, okay, all right, hard, I don't.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Think he has to worry about the card in the
present is all right? It is.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
It is a candle, but it's a scented candle. The
scent is written on the side. It says, smells like
it's not your problem anymore, happy retirement. I love that one. Wait,
hold on, yep, that's what it smells like, problem more.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Not your problem anymore.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
All right, now, this one, I thought really long and
hard about it, very long and hard about it, and
I thought.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
He'd probably like this. And guess what it is. It's
your ukulele.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Be God, you gave it back to me because remember
I loaned this big old B word my ukulele about
five years ago and she never gave it. That's a
beautiful ukulele. I loaned you a nice one, Yeah you did.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Did she ever learn to play it? I learned for
a while. The very out of tune.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Oh I'm in you.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
You're in me because you gave me the Okay, how
do you tune your uguile? Do you have like an app? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah, you use a tuner like a guitar tuner. But yeah,
there's an apples Yeah, thank you ja.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Yeah yeah once again from all of us, and then
this is your last one. We wanted something that really
showed our token of love, and so we did something
where it can spell out a cute little phrase.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
See if you can read it.
Speaker 14 (21:29):
No, it's actually actually it's actually cute, not like we
well what is it. It's donuts, yeah, shaped in the
shape of letters. Yeah, And we have pinks, and we
have chocolates, and we have some vanillas in here.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
We love we love you. That makes sense. I thought
about doing that.
Speaker 20 (21:54):
I thought about it saying something ridiculous, but I didn't
want that bakery to have to do that. So I
was like, let's just actually be nicer ones and habits
fell out.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
We love you.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
This is the best retirement ever.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Awa, I'm in you. You're welcome.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
No, if you wanted to let me borrow it again,
I would borrow it and actually learn more.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
If you want to, you can not that one. That's
a nice one. That's why I felt bad about it.
I was like, it probably is a really nice one,
and so I'll give it back to you.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Nearly thirty dollars nearly thirty. Yes, thank you guys. It
was very sweet. Wow it's seven thirty nine already. Does
that mean we're getting right into no phone screens?
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Okay for the final time ever, Can I be serious
for a minute and just not not real serious, not
cry serious. But I want to tell you that if
you see me out somewhere and you're like, oh, there's
Dave over at the State Fair, or there's Dave over
at cub or there's Dave over at the library or whatever,
and you like think about want to come up and
(22:57):
say hi?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Please?
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Do yeah, because I'll be low and I'll miss you,
So feel free to come up and say Hi. No
Phone Screener Friday right now, last one. We'll probably go
for you know, I don't know, maybe till the for
a little bit longer this morning on No Phone Screener Friday.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Say there's thousand people on our YouTube. I want more?
Oh no, that's quite a few. We had three thousand yesterday.
But Angie Taylor was there yesterday. That's what they were too.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Sto Steve Steve O and his roast yesterday was so funny.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
They were all so funny.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
But Steve O was just They're like can I be
And Angie was like can I be mean? I don't
want to be too mean. I'm like bring it on.
So she did, Steve did, John did merciless so and
you guys did great too. So yeah, all right we
go ready, no phone screening Friday. Okay, the rules, Bailey,
what are the rules?
Speaker 2 (23:55):
The rules are that you need to one have a plan.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
I'm sure everyone I'll kind of be saying the same thing,
so hopefully you have a plan too.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
You have to be should we say over sixteen? I
don't know what if some kid likes you and then
we'll break that rule for the day. No shout outs,
no poetry or no poetry or rapping.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
No promoting your business or you know, your soccer game
that you have going on.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
No no Instagram. Yeah, no pluging anything for you. If
you do any of that, you're here. That sounds you.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Don't want to hear it, don't it?
Speaker 6 (24:31):
Be?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Ready?
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
The key is six five, one nine eight nine KTWB.
That's the number.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
But the key is let it ring until we are
on the air, because we're not going to pick it
up and put you on hold. We're not screaming the calls,
which is a bold idea and sometimes a bad idea,
but we'll do fine. You guys ready, Okay, Hello, no
phone screen or Friday. You're up first high? What's your name?
Speaker 2 (24:57):
And I don't know if you guys remember me, but
I have a snake named Peanut, and I'm.
Speaker 19 (25:05):
Here for an update.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Oh yeah, tell us about Peanut.
Speaker 16 (25:10):
And I also want to wish you, uh happy retiring?
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Thank you? How is Peanut? She's getting really he's getting bigger.
Speaker 13 (25:22):
And still really sweet.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Still like the cuddle. Yeah, and he still likes the cuddle.
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Thank you for listening. Than we love you back. Give
Peanut a hug for me. Okay, all right, no phone screener, Friday. Hello,

One last chance to thank you for everything.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Well, you're welcome, Thank you, thanks for being here. I
appreciate that, all right. I mean there's no point in
me being here if there's no you there, So thank you, Christina,
appreciate you. No phone screener, Friday. What is your name?

have your retirement.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
It's sad to see you leaving.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
It's sad for me too. I'm sad because I met
you on my thirteenth birthday at the Pride Run the
five k. Wow.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Yeah, we used to do the Rainbow Run five k, which
I think they're still doing. I won't be there this year,
but it's coming up sometime in June.
Speaker 19 (26:26):
And I also called in on my sixteenth birthday.
Speaker 8 (26:29):
That definitely made my day.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
How old are you now?
Speaker 19 (26:33):
I'm going to be seventeenth.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Oh you're getting up there. Oh man, you are. How
are your hips? Are your hips still okay?
Speaker 15 (26:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 19 (26:40):
My hips are okay?
Speaker 16 (26:42):
Is it their leader?
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Does it hurt when you walk up the stairs sometimes? Sometimes?
Where are you a cheerleader at de LaSalle at my school? Great?
What is dayla sal? What is their mascot on the islanders?
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Islanders? Because they're on the island. Thank you very much?
All right, no phone screener Friday. Hello, what's your name?
Speaker 15 (27:06):
Hi Dave?
Speaker 13 (27:06):
This is Casey Caseyda.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Hi. Oh hey you.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Hey, case one of you don't even live here anymore
and you still listen to the show.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Right, I'm moving back.
Speaker 16 (27:14):
I'm moving back. Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
But you went here yesterday, right, I.
Speaker 15 (27:19):
Was here last week.
Speaker 13 (27:20):
Oh okay, I wasn't here yesterday.
Speaker 11 (27:22):
I was here last week and I'm moving back soon.
But I did miss the Marvel America yesterday. I just
wanted to say, Dave, well, I get choked up, thank
you so much for being such a good friend with so.
Speaker 15 (27:35):
Many people in Minnesota.
Speaker 11 (27:37):
And we're really gonna miss you. And I know, of
course the show will never be the same, but.
Speaker 19 (27:44):
Having full faith in you, the show will go on.
Speaker 11 (27:47):
And I'm so excited.
Speaker 15 (27:49):
Excuse me for all of your all of your adventures
that you have coming up.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
You're very sweet. You have been so ky.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
She sends us like funny text messages and memes and
dms to all of us, everybody here on the show,
not just me, So everybody here loves you, Casey.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
Oh well, thanks David, have a good rest of your show.
Speaker 19 (28:06):
Thank you so much for all your years.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Thank you. Bye. You'd be going to handle this for
another twenty minutes? Strong? Yeah, you are strong.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
I am Katie. Will be no phone screen on Friday.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
And how was that?
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Iy?
Speaker 2 (28:25):
What's your name?
Speaker 7 (28:26):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Good morning.
Speaker 11 (28:27):
This is Teresa and my son Benjamin.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Hi, Benjamin Hi, Teresa.
Speaker 13 (28:31):
Hey, Hey, Hey Dave.
Speaker 11 (28:32):
I've been listening to you for thirty three years.
Speaker 19 (28:35):
I've been listening to you for two. It's not going
to be the same without you. I don't think Von's
gonna still in those shoes.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
No, strong, don't.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Don't shame Vaughan because he's got a great job working
at the mini donut booth at the State Fair.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
So he's quite excited. Wait a pie. Actually, Oh, thank
you guys, appreciate you.
Speaker 15 (28:57):
Happy retirement.
Speaker 11 (28:58):
Takeo care of yourself.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Thank you, Bye, Katie. It would be no phone screen
for Friday. Who is this Hi?
Speaker 19 (29:07):
It's Megan, Hi, Megan, Hi Dave. I'm gonna miss your
obviously big topic of discussion, but gonna ask for everybody
if you could give any advice to your twenty year
old self, what would it be.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
I would say, stand up for yourself a little bit
more because I've always been kind of a pushover.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
People say, Dave, can you do this and this and this?
I'll be like oka Oka.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
So I would say stand up and advocate for myself
a little bit more. And also remember that I think
this is really powerful that everybody's going through something. You know,
some people are having good days and bad days. So
give people a little bit more grace when somebody like
you know, is tailgating you or whatever. Maybe they're just
really mad. Maybe they're just in a bad mood. When
you know, a cashier at the at the boot is
(29:59):
not very and maybe she's having a bad day. So
just maybe a little bit more grace and kindness, because
you know, you're not the only person. I'm not the
only person in the world, and sometimes people are having
a bad day. And also, watch the snacking. I mean, seriously,
the snacking is just it's it's.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
It's getting out of hand. It's out of hand. Yeah,
so how's that? Okay, okay, thank you? No phone screen
or Friday. Hi, who's this? Maybe this is Crawford.
Speaker 15 (30:30):
How you doing?
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Hi Crawford?
Speaker 15 (30:31):
Good, Hey, big fan. Over twenty years my wife and
I my wife wakes me up in the morning listening
to your show. I just wanted to thank you because
ten years ago you had fallen introduced my family to
two of the loves of our lives, Carrie and Miranda
from The Sex and the City Kitties.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah no, no, I don't help help me out.
Speaker 15 (30:54):
So there was a there was an adoption agency that
brought in some cats.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
One morning or in the morning.
Speaker 15 (31:00):
We were listening to the show and they're like, holy crap,
we've got the sex.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Now I remember yes, now, I remember yes, And you
adopted them.
Speaker 15 (31:08):
Crawling all over Fallon's console. Miranda was crawling all over yours.
We had had some cats that passed away just recently,
so that afternoon our kids were like ten and eight
or whatever, and we went to that adoption agency that night.
The next day we had Carrie and Miranda carry is
right here with me, was running around somewhere.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
That is so great. I love that.
Speaker 15 (31:35):
Love you for that. We love you for everything you've
done over the last thirty plus years. Love you man,
Love you retirement.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
That what a great connection. Wow, they got their cats
from listening to the show. Thank You every week.
Speaker 15 (31:47):
We talk about them every single day. We talk about
you every single day.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
We'll keep it up because you know it's middle of
next week. Most people will have forgotten me. They'll be like, oh, yeah,
what was his name again?
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Dan? Something right?
Speaker 15 (32:00):
Dan?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Katie a wilely being no phone screen or Friday, who
is this? This is one more time your phone cut out? Nope,
android and one more time.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
This is Cathy.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Hi, Cassy, what's up.
Speaker 17 (32:21):
I want to say, stop stealing, stealing my thunder, it's
my birthday.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
I'm happy for your retirement, congratulations.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Well thank you.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Ah happy for it too, But I'm also like, it's
very mixed emotions because you know, it's gonna be weird,
you guys, Like next week, I'm gonna feel like I'm
on vacation, but then I won't be coming back and
I'll be like, I don't know. I mean, I think
that this is really you know, you do something like
this whether you're a plumber or a dentist, and it
kind of becomes like who you are, and especially because
(32:52):
you know, if you're a plumber or a dentist, you
don't tell your clients all about your miserable night last
night or your fun vacation. But here on the we
share everything. So it's gonna be weird to not have
this relationship with you know. I love the people to
listen to the show and the fact that you know,
we get to tell each other stories. And of course
I'm gonna miss you guys too, because you guys are
(33:13):
my buddies and I've worked with people who I'm not
particularly close to. And you guys are three of my
absolute favorites because you're all, like if you don't know,
they're all such just wonderful people.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
They're just really they're just really.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Kind and and and you're lovely people, and you're good
listeners and you'd never cause any trouble. And you know
there's been a few, but I know you guys have
been braining. I'm gonna miss I'm gona miss all of that,
all right, No phone screen for Friday. Hello, I think
you're up next. What's your name?
Speaker 4 (33:43):
Hi?
Speaker 15 (33:44):
My name is Gail.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Hi, Gail, what's up?
Speaker 15 (33:46):
Hey?
Speaker 16 (33:47):
You know what I was thinking.
Speaker 17 (33:48):
My first thought when you said you were retiring was
I have been listening ever since. You guys had a
promotion for Dave is Coming. And I think you guys
did it for like a week prior and every day
it was like Dave is coming for seven days or something,
and then it was like Dave is coming for six days.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
I was like, Okay, who is this.
Speaker 15 (34:12):
Dave that they're promoting. But I'm like, I am gonna.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Give it a listen and see who this Dave is.
Speaker 15 (34:18):
But here I am all these years.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
I'm listening and I'm just saying, I am glad I
stuck through that promotion. I don't know if you guys
still have it, if you could play it for everybody,
but I am glad that I stuck through. I'm sad
that you are leaving, But thank you for that promotion
because it got me to listen because I was like, whoa, Okay,
who's Dave.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
I don't I don't think I was here for that. No,
I didn't know that.
Speaker 21 (34:47):
That's all that promotion was was like, Dave is home,
and then people are like bear and it was weird
because it's kind of like to be in the new
member of a friend group or your you know, your
friend groups.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Got you know, Charlotte's new boyfriend and he's like, you know,
he's kind of like different at first, and you don't
like him as much as you like her old boyfriend.
But then you know, I mean, you get to know
him a little bit and it's like, oh, he's okay.
And it was kind of like that because people did
not like me at first because I was the new guy, yeah,
and I wasn't from here.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
So thank you very much. I appreciate that David's coming.
I love, love you back.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Thank you, Katie. Would you be no phone screener Friday,
last one ever? What's your name?
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
By the way, it's brought to you by Fuku. Oh
yes Friday, babyhooko Friday. Thank you Fuku for all your
help over the last few months. Hi, you're up next.
What's your name? Hi?
Speaker 16 (35:37):
It's Amber.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Hi. Amber.
Speaker 16 (35:40):
I did even though we don't really know each other personally,
and met you a few times over the years at
the events. I just wanted to wish you a happy retirement,
and being that I'm thirty three years old, I don't
know radio without you and you'll be missed and I
wish you all the best.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Thank you, Amber. Yeah, you don't remember a time. You're
like Alison's age. You know, you don't remember a time
when there was no show like this. So thank you
for listening all these years.
Speaker 16 (36:09):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Good welcome? Oh sorry food? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Next, No, I'm kidding. Hello, No phone screener Friday. What's
your name?
Speaker 16 (36:20):
This is Kimmy.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Hi, Kimmy Ye.
Speaker 11 (36:22):
So, Dave, you are a voice that everyone in the
Twin Cities is so familiar with. We listened to you,
and we love you. I want to know who is
someone that you listen to and you love as your
comfort person.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
Oo.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Wow, that's a really listen a replace of our show.
I don't know that I really have somebody that I
that I that I listened to.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
I don't. I don't have an answer for that.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
When I I don't say that, I wouldn't say that
there is anybody that I've listened to for that Long's not.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
Like comfort though in general, like what do you turn
to for comfort?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Wordle? Poor word wordle and for it I didn't.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
I didn't get wordle today, and I almost want to
say the word because it almost actually ties in with
what we do on the radio retired.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Although that way to go out, you spoil word that
would be funny.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
I liked him till he spoiled wordle on his last day.
That's a really that's a really good question. I don't
have an answer. I don't think there's anybody that I
that I do.
Speaker 11 (37:28):
I would say that if you come up with one,
post it on Instagram so we.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Can all know, Okay, I will do that.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Thank you by no phone screen or Friday.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
What's your name?
Speaker 13 (37:42):
Oh this is Melissa.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yes, thanks for the through.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
I'm happy you got through to You are the Amazon
Love and Toy reviewer, and you review these and then
when you're done, you throw them in your closet and
you said you want them, and we said yeah. So
Jenny got a bunch of them for her birthday the
other day.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Have I got to grab this?
Speaker 13 (38:06):
Well, I'm so glad. I just want to say, Dave.
I've listened to you since I was nineteen years old.
I'm fifty two now.
Speaker 11 (38:14):
Our girls are You're apart.
Speaker 13 (38:16):
I honestly I can't believe what Monday's going to be.
Speaker 11 (38:18):
But best of luck to you.
Speaker 16 (38:21):
You're just amazing.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
So go on, go on, right, go on, go on
some more. No, I'm kidding. You're very very sweet. Thank you.
We won't forget you, that's for sure. Awesome.
Speaker 13 (38:37):
Well, enjoy the retirement. You definitely deserve it.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Thank you very much, and love.
Speaker 15 (38:42):
You guys, Love you back.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
I love you. Oh she's so nice. Like I said,
you don't forget somebody like that. Yeah, how do you
get a job doing that? Anyway? I'm jealous?
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Okay, No, phone screener Friday, what's your name?
Speaker 11 (38:57):
Hey, David's plugo?
Speaker 2 (38:58):
How are you hey? Buddy?
Speaker 1 (38:59):
What's going on? Was one of our first interns, well
not first, but back in the day. Yeah, and slug
O was his real name is Jeremy And Jeremy used
to work with us back probably twenty five ish years ago.
Do you remember when we did a horrible rendition. We
got on stage at Star Party and I had a
song called zero. Maybe we should play zero?
Speaker 22 (39:18):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Please play Zero?
Speaker 1 (39:19):
Had our little we had our fake mole too, yeah,
because it was by Enrique and he had the big mole.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
So we all wore moles.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Yes, And so I sang this song called zero, and
I think you and Timmy had big zeros on your
shirts and you danced very seductively in the background.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Oh, if you want to call it seductive, I think
it was.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
I think it was an easy way for girls just
to say goodbye to us.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
But hey, Dave, I just wanted to say thank you
so much.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Man you have I've told you this time and time again,
but I'm definitely a different and better man because.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
Of you and what you put me in front of.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
I used to be the kid that I always looked
down at his shoes, and you helped picked my head
up and started looking out at people and talking to people.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Interacting with people and being a part of the community.
So I can't thank you.
Speaker 9 (40:08):
Enough for the opportunity that you gave me.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
This goofy looking six foot two one and fifty five
pounds high school students emphasis on goofy little Yeah, Yeah,
you're very sweet, Jeremy, You're very sweet. And you know what,
I'm so glad to hear that. You know, sometimes it's
