Speaker 1 (00:00):
I like that song. There's some good music out now.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
There's some good stuff there, really is.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
It is on my Mind Alex Wore and Rose on Katiewd.
It's called on my Mind. And there's more good music.
This is Sabena Carpenter. Man Child loved this song. If
you love Sabena Carpenter, then you're gonna want to go
see her in Nashville. I mean that's yeah. Seeing her
at the Xcel Energy Center at Target Center is super cool.
But this time, when you leave, the night is just beginning.
(00:28):
Because you're in Nashville. You won't even get back to
your room until four o'clock am, and you and you
and you wake up the next morning. You're not gonna
remember how you got back there.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
But you'll remember it was a good time.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Your girlfriend Kenda is gonna go, oh my god, you're
so hammered last night. That's a good stop. Anyway, we're
going to send you down there. We're gonna send you
to see her, but you've got to qualify by saying
the keyword is espresso. Open up the iHeartRadio app and
say the keyword is espresso, and then you're good to go.
On the talkback feature. You know how it works, and
(00:58):
we're doing it all this week and too so bonus
chances to win all this weekend from Katie WB. This
is a random Do you like random stuff? I like
randomly doing something. Yeah, okay, we have somebody in the
phone with a random question. But I think it's a
very legitimate question that we should probably discuss a little
bit here before we take a break. Rachel. First of all,
(01:18):
I heard you're going to be a new mama. Is
this true?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yes, it's true.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, I'm doing about two weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Congratulations. Oh you are big and pregnant, big and pregnant,
so and so and so happy for you. That's so great.
But you had a question about being a mama.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah. So I was talking to my sister the other
day and I was like, it's okay that we thank
our kids right as I do something wrong. We used
to get spanked, like in Kmar. Mom used to give
us like a swat.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Dating yourself by getting swatted and Kmar.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
That's totally fine, okay and strikes through all out of
business now. And she was like, no, don't spank kids.
I was like what, and she says, no, we really don't.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
So that's why I was calling. I was like, the
people still think their kids? Is it okay?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
And I know we have a lot of parents listening,
So we are the number one station for parents in
the Twin Cities. We add nurses, parents, teachers, and the men. Yeah,
we're number one with that one. But I don't think
that anymore. I don't know. My daughter, Allison's got a
two year old and a five year four year old.
She might give him a swat on the butt, but
(02:29):
I don't think they do. Yeah, I used to spend.
I literally last time I spent Carson, he was probably
five or four, I don't remember, and it was literally
turn him over my knee and he was terrified and
he put his little hands back to try to block
my hands. Yeah, and I said, I will never thankfully
he was a good kid. He was a good boy,
(02:49):
and I never had to, you know, even think about it. Yeah,
but I would never spend. I might give him a
swat on the butt. Yeah, what are we considering spanking?
Speaker 6 (02:57):
Like full on right, not just little pat that's what
you're saying.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
I think it's like either one like I think it's
a swat. I mean, regardless if you're whacking a kid
in a butt regardless if they're standing up in km
art or over your knee at home, it's still a spank.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
I will say, yeah, I mean I would say I
wouldn't bat an eye so much as a swat on
the butt. Yeah, but if I did, like oh, somebody
was like turn their kid over a knee and she's
five and they're spanking.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Know.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, I got spanked when I was a kid, and
everybody says I turned out Okay. I literally say that
all the time, and it worked because there was a
little bit of fear in me. But I think the
fear was just like a general respect kind of a thing, right,
not the fear of spanking. It was a respectful kind
of a.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
Thing, yeah, because I got spanked as a kid, not
all the time, but like that's was like the main
discipline form when I was a kid. And then it
got to a point where my mom would say, you
go lay down and I'm going to come in there
and spank you, and then she would just never come in.
So it was the fear of it coming that would
like put us in line.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
So honestly, brilliant.
Speaker 8 (04:01):
Move by my mom.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
That was brilliant but now my sister has a two
and a half year old and she does not spank
her kid. They like, she like holds her hands and
says like, we're gonna take big breaths and so then
they like breathe through it. And yeah, my niece still
has like tantrums and stuff and oh gosh, it's too
she's too. Yeah, but like, I don't think my sister's
(04:25):
ever spanked her, but I guess I don't know.
Speaker 6 (04:27):
Yeah, I got spanked maybe maybe a handful of times
in life, and so I knew that if I did
get spanked, it was four like because I did something
really bad. I think, yeah, if you if your kid
does something that they need to know this is wrong.
Little pat on the butt here and there won't hurt.
I think that's what I'll do when I end up
having kids. The bad thing is the couple of times
I got spanked. I don't know, like parents of color,
(04:49):
they have this thing where when they spank their kids,
they spank them to the syllables or speaking at so.
Speaker 8 (04:52):
They'll be like, didn't you do that? That's exactly what
they do. So I knew I was in trouble.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Oh that's funny. Okay, I got some answers for you, Rachel.
And there's different answers via text messaging. And this text
is is somebody who works with children in childcare, bring
back spanking? Another one so I'll give a little swap
once in a while, but this is just at home,
never in public. That's from a dad. Another text says
(05:23):
no spanking none, it's traumatizing. But the very next text
under that says soft parenting doesn't work. I'm really glad
I don't have young kids anymore. When Alice's kids act up,
it's like, okay, Ali said, come get your run kids
get you. There's a text that says born in nineteen
eighty five, parents didn't believe in spanking none. Never now
(05:44):
mom of a toddler, and I would never either do it,
expect the child to do it to somebody else, then
copy everything you do. Mine listens better the quieter I talk, Katie,
suburban mom in Victoria. I like this one. It's okay
to spank, but don't spank out of anger when they
do something that pisses you off. That's the wrong time.
Speaker 8 (06:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:05):
I mean people are texting and saying like it's teaching
kids to fear you or whatever, but I mean, like
you and nine day we just said, like we were
spanked and we turned out fine. I realized we're just
two people out of a huge population. But like, I'm
not scared of my mom. Yeah, but like I ain't
gonna mouth off to my mom.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
There's also there's like traumatize them, but there's also giving
your kids a consequence, teaching them that you can't do
X or Y without what consequence happening.
Speaker 8 (06:31):
Yeah, that's what I think.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Now here's there's a lot of text messages. Rachel called
in and said, Rachel's like two weeks away from having
a baby, and she was talking to her sister and
like brought up spanking and and her sister said, oh no, no, no,
you don't spank anymore. So Rachel's like a little bit confused.
And you're gonna find you talk to two different people,
You're gonna get two different answers. And here's a text
message that says, I spank. I'm twenty five, I've got
(06:54):
three kids. I'm Mexican. For what it's worth, that general
parenting stuff don't work. My kids are amazing. I'm always
at restaurants, churches, and airplanes. I spank between ages four
and six because that's when they take the most in
learning behavior. Another text says kids they need a good
ass whooping.
Speaker 8 (07:11):
I agree, you also need to bring back bullying. Now
I'm gonna come in there.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Why are you going to bring back bullying?
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Because kids needs to learn to not be so sensitive,
Like I feel like good roast sessions that used to
happen at the lunch table that all started because of bullying,
Like oh like your mama jokes and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
You know who says that a bully?
Speaker 7 (07:29):
Because I say, now, it's not bring back bullying because
I got bullied senselessly and now A ruined for it.
Speaker 8 (07:34):
But just like learning to rib on each other, bring that.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I think there's a big difference between ribbon on each
other and saying, well, you know what, you're stupid. No,
your mom's a whoer. No, your mom's a whoer's that's funny.
But like excluding somebody and pushing them into a locker
so they like smash their lunch, that's sad.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
That's you know.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
You look at a kid that's scared to go to
school because he knows he's going to get picked on
in school. That's sad. So all right, Hey, I hope
you got something out of this, Rachel. I don't have
an answer for you, but I you know, hopefully I
think the answer is there is no answer. I think
you get you get to figure out what's right for you.
Good luck.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Yeah, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Name my baby after you.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Oh wow, wow, that's very sweet. Okay, have a good day,
Rachel Bay Bye. H It is Katie WB and we
all Beca's on really quick. I want to talk to
Becca because you're in childcare. I got I got thirty seconds, Becca,
What did you want to say?
Speaker 5 (08:30):
I just wanted to say that I think it is
totally okay to use spanking. Doesn't need to be as
crazy it was maybe back in the day, you know,
no paddle and vault coming out. But I do think
that it really gets kids to respect their parents, which
they absolutely do not do these days, especially with the
gentle parenting. So I absolutely am in favor of allowing spanking.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
And you see that your daycare, so you know what
works and what doesn't. I wish I had more time. Thanks,
We'll be right back on Katie.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Don't live on YouTube and the iHeart.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Rate it's one on one point three Katie w B.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
We had all kinds of new music this weekend, so
everything from Lewis Capaldi to Lord to what was the
one we played a half an hour Born Rose. Yeah,
so that is the heartbeat of KWB. Is the music,
So thank you. Jenny's on vacation, she's in Iceland. Follow
her Jenny KTWB, because I'm sure she'll put up some
very cool videos that we were talking them a minute
(09:25):
ago about bullying and spanking your kids.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Turning it did.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Rachel called up and she said, I'm a mom in
two weeks, got a baby on the way in two weeks,
and my sister and I had a little disagreement about
whether kids should be spanked, and anybody you talk to
is going to have, like, you know, an opinion. I
would say. You know, my experience was I didn't need
to spank my kids often, and whenever I did, the
three times each that I did, it terrified them and
(09:52):
it felt so sad and wrong, like they're supposed to
love me, and here I am like making them afraid
of me. I didn't like it at all. Thank God
they were kids and I didn't have to make the
decision wrong. But then we talked about bullying.
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Because Vont said bring back bullying, and people were texting
that in bring back bullying, and I say, no.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Well why do you say bring back bullying?
Speaker 8 (10:09):
I just feel like a couple of things.
Speaker 6 (10:10):
It helps you build thick skin because you know people
rib on you and say certain things that you learn
either one to fight back by like defending yourself or arguing.
And also you'd learn not to be so sensitive if
I said, Bailey, your shirt looks ugly.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Now, I think there's a difference between ribbing for lack
of a better word, or poking fun at somebody and
actual bullying because when your friends with somebody and we
bully each other all the time, like Vont, you are
probably one of the ugliest people that I've seen today.
Speaker 6 (10:35):
Well, at least I don't have ugly shirts to message
that we make fun.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
And it's like, Bailey, you know what, I don't know
why you put on I don't know, nice clothes because
nobody's ever gonna ask you out for it. Things like
I mean, it's a dad joke. I can do better,
but I don't want to be too mean. So we
pick on each other relentlessly, Jenny told me the other
day that I love S and the D and it
was and it was like, that's funny. It makes me laugh. Yeah,
so that's ribbing each other. But bullying is when you're
(11:01):
like mean. Yeah, I'll never forget. I was in about
seventh or eighth grade and we were I was watching
this kid. I'll tell his short version. He's a short
little kid with glasses, and he had a funny haircut,
and he didn't have a lot of friends, maybe no friends.
And he had bought a bag of munchos from the
school cafeteria. And here's this little kid carrying his bag
of munchoes and some bigger bully kid shoved him into
(11:24):
the wall several times and it crushed his bag of munchos.
Why do I remember that? Because I just thought, here's
a kid who was looking forward to having his little munchhos. Yeah,
and then this a hole of a bigger bully relentlessly
pushed this kid back and forth into the wall and
he crushed his munchhos. Why do I remember that? Because
I thought he's not going to fight back. He's too
(11:44):
small to fight back. He probably hates going to school
every day. Yeah, because he knows he's going to get this,
and so that's the kind of bullyings is sad?
Speaker 7 (11:53):
I know, well, because I was saying too like bullying
girl like girls bullying versus boys bullying are two very
different things.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
So the reason I'm like, do not bring back bullying vont.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Is because, like even now as an adult, I'm in
my thirties, and if I am in a room where
two people are whispering, I will automatically think that they're
whispering about me.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Because that was my entire middle school school.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
Yeah, because people would make fun of my clothes, they
would make fun of my hair, they would make fun
of me because I had a mustache, your nose.
Speaker 8 (12:22):
No one really said anything.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Let me bring it up. Oh it seriously with the
first time I met you, I thought I was meeting
a parrot.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Oh and well, you know I like that one better.
It was called dog face day. Middle school boy told
me I looked like a rottweiler.
Speaker 8 (12:38):
So that stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
I had a girl tell me that I looked like
a monkey.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah, yeah, and it sticks with you.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I'll never forget it. I look in the maor now
in art class, and I was like, I look like
a monkey. Yeah, that's not what I mean by bullying.
I mean like like harmless bullying. Like if it's Valentine's
Day and I have a crush on.
Speaker 8 (12:53):
Dave but not Bailey.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
Uh, Dave is gonna get the Twigs or the Three
Musketeers and Bailey gonna get Smarties. That's the type of
bullying I mean that's not really thank you, it's harmless
because you're like, hey, I want that one. It's harmless bullying.
It helps you build thick skin. I'm not talking about yes,
shove you in the locker, call you dog face. No,
don't do that, although.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I will tell you that kind of gave me a
thick skin. It's the same time, I'm a big p
word and I let people still to this day, push
me around. I've worked with people who have backstabbed, manipulated,
and I'm just not I can't do that. I'm not
a backstab I'm proud of myself that I've never backstabbed
or never manipulated anybody in my career.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
And every day, what one backstab a day keeps the
doctor away.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Nobody likes you, Bailey. Nobody likes you, and that mustache
needs to go, all right, it's one A one point three. Actually,
we don't have time to play the song I wish
we did. We'll play when we come back. I think
Stephanie's going to be here in a second, and Stephanie's
going to give us a rundown of things that are
going on this weekend, and we'll get Stephanie on the
radio to so you're not sitting around this weekend wondering
what should I do. We'll get on a bold get
Stephanie on the radio. Coming up in a second on
(13:56):
kd double U be and.
Speaker 8 (14:01):
W Hey.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
You can watch on YouTube. I mean we're on from
seven until nine every morning on YouTube, Dave Ryan TV.
And we have a sponsor that's crawling across the bottom
of the screen this morning. They paid five whole dollars
to sponsor us on YouTube. Is our first sponsor ever?
Goes right into the KDWB. iHeartRadio coffers. I've been working
here for thirty two years. Is my first sale?
Speaker 8 (14:23):
Wow? Long enough.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
I'm not a salesperson. Here's why I could never be
a salesperson. I admire our salesperson so much because, let's
say I went out to Bob's towing, like Bob we'd
like to sell you a little advertising package. And Bob
would be like, yeah, it's not right for me. I'd
be like, well, f you, and I'd walk out like
you're lost than jerk. Yeah, so I could never be
in sales. You're also not hot enough to be in sales. Yeah,
I will buy a vacuum from you. If you came
up to my door, I'd be like, m you're not
(14:45):
selling me.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
I would like peek open, like crack open the door
a little bit, get one eyeball out, just the right arm.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, then I close the doors.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
At what you're bullying me? You're not bullying bully, just
that you're not good looking in your kind of shape
like the Grnch. What you're kind of shaped like the Grinch,
And so I wouldn't I wouldn't take I wouldn't buy like, yeah,
a vacuum from you, twenty knives because you're shaped like
the Grinch.
Speaker 8 (15:09):
Not only that, I think you smell like hot anchovies.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Well, yeah, that you.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Can't just be you can't just be throwing out insults
like that. I got a witness over here, Stephanie. Yeah, Stephanie,
good morning, Stephanie. She's heard it like go over, you know,
things to do this weekend. But excuse me one second,
I gotta call HR because you can't just tell some
coworker there's shaped like the Grinch. Yeah, hold one sound
all right? All right, I'm calling HR on your Rightay,
(15:33):
they're busy. I don't care. This is important. This is bullying.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Hey, it's Dave down to Katie. But I want to
report Bailey j Has for telling me that I am
shaped like the Grinch.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Well you are shaped like the Grinch.
Speaker 8 (15:48):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's that's two of us. Now. You
must not have heard what I said, because I'm in
a different.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Smell like hot anchob I heard I bought vought also
said that I smell like hot anchovies.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
Well you do smell like hot anchoby.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
Well, okay, so I don't think HR lady would buy
something from you.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
I Stephanie called me fat a minute ago.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
She did, but she wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (16:09):
She wouldn't say something like that.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
She just got here. Why would she? She literally walked
in the door and she look.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
I didn't say anything because they've got it all covered here.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Oh Stephanie called.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Me fat, Well you are fat?
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 7 (16:23):
Well, I don't know if the HR lady's on your
side today, David apparently not.
Speaker 8 (16:27):
Apparently not, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Stephanie is here, and Stephanie is She's on Instagram and
she does little posts about things to do this weekend
because you're always looking for something to do because you're
a mom of five kids. Yes you're busy, but you
want to do things over the weekend. So give it
the top five rundown Stephanie.
Speaker 8 (16:47):
Sanie, does that we have a keyword to give.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yes, you're right, you're right, Okay, the keyword is taste.
And that's a very important keyword because you've got to
use that on the iHeartRadio app and you've got to
say the keyword is taste. So there's a keyword right now,
get you that flyaway trip to Nashville to see Sabrina Carpenter.
So just open up the iron Heart app, use a
talkback red button and say the keyword is taste, and
(17:11):
you are good to go. Stephanie, what's going on this weekend?
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Well, I'm super excited actually to share this week because
a lot of the events that I share on the
regular basis are happening this weekend, and usually they're on
the weekdays, but I kind of would start out with
Pride because that is a huge thing going on this weekend.
So the parade is on Sunday at eleven, and then
of course Lauren Park is going to be full of
the Pride Festival, you know, live music stages and six
(17:40):
hundred vendors whatever. But there's also a beer dabbler. Oh
bear dabblers like you pay fifty bucks to get in
and you can drink all you want and taste and
eat and whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Those are dangerous. I've been to the beer dabler before.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
It's like, oh, the Sculpture Garden, which I thought was
pretty cool, your favorite place?
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Dave about that one?
Speaker 1 (18:00):
What a dumb?
Speaker 8 (18:01):
What a dump? Who's said that?
Speaker 4 (18:04):
So, yeah, Pride's going on and you can just there's
a ton of articles about all the things that are
going on.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
I'm going to be hosting the Rainbow Run five K
coming up on Sunday morning. We kick off around I
think we started nine, but we get there about eighty.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
How do you host a run?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Make announcements? Yeah, okay, time to line up talk talk
or welcome no running? Yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Number four is a break the Bubble event.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Break the bubbles for people who are new to the
cities or they're looking to meet new friends. You just
show up throwing a name tag, and then everyone else
has name tags and you introduce yourself and you find
new people to hang out with.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Not my thing, but why is it not your thing?
Speaker 2 (18:40):
I'm more to introvert. I don't like talking by what
do you do.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
For a living?
Speaker 1 (18:44):
It seems so like forced, Like I'm here to meet people,
so I'm gonna come awkwardly up to you and go hi.
Speaker 8 (18:51):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
A lot of people that come to the cities they
don't know anyone. It's a great opportunity. And some people
that are looking to meet other people too.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
So here's a little tip for you. And as you said,
what do you do for a living? I've heard a
great opening question is what do you like to do?
Because somebody says, well, what do you do for a living?
They're like, I'm in it. Yeah, boring, but it's like,
what do you like to do? Well? I love anime
and I love backpacking. Oh well, I love that too.
Now we got something to talk about. What do you
like to do?
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Say? It's forced, Dave, But I think that's the point,
is that you're forced to like talk to other people.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
That's why you're there.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
Sometimes it works.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
I went to a dinner like a week ago and
I said, what do you do, just to try to
find out and he said, I'm a digital marketing strategist.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Like boring, buddy, nothing there.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
All right, Well, that's on Saturday from six.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
To nine and in bound Berwing that's in the North Loops,
so amazing. Have a beard, take the edge off, meet
some people. Yeah. Number three, there's a soul food festival
going on at the farmers Market area, you.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Know Underndale under the Bridge kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah, from four to eight tomorrow night. So get your
soul food. They'll have live entertainment and music going on.
And I just looked into it online. It's like get
your greens, get your chicken, get your barbecue. You like
the comfort food, said, yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
You should go.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
I'm here for them.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, if you haven't been, if you haven't been to
the Farmer's Market by Lyndale, it is epic. Seriously. I mean,
farmers markets anywhere are great, but this is like epic.
It's like forty of them all clustered into We got
to go.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It's on my list of things to do. I'm going
to write it down.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Write it down, all right.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Number two, I got Pitch a Friend and Bailey you
can probably Yeah, I'm going tonight.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Yeah, so tonight at seven and uh, wild Mind Mind
is that a brewery Wild Mine?
Speaker 7 (20:29):
It's yeah, it's right by Wild Grind Coffee and that's
the thing.
Speaker 8 (20:33):
It's like. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
So basically you meet and there's PowerPoint presentations and people
pitched their friend to the audience to date, like Bailey
five minutes, here's why my friend is so cool? And
then they have like a mixer later, so you can
talk to somebody that maybe you saw advertise that you
were into.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
And I always talked to somebody, even if it's not
for like a date. But I've gone to three or
four Pitch a Friend events now and I always end
up talking to someone, even if it's just like, Hey,
I went to a queer one a couple of weeks
ago with my friend Sarah because she's always looking for
a lady and I somebody pitched a woman who was
essentially me but a lesbian, and I literally walked up
(21:11):
to her and I was like, we are the same person,
except you are a lesbian, and I am not and
she was like, wow, this is so exciting.
Speaker 8 (21:16):
So we were talking and it was great.
Speaker 7 (21:17):
We added each other on Instagram, so you can make
friends there too.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Glad you added your friend Sarah that said she's lady.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
Yeah, well lady man whatever, she's not picky. If you
want to date Sarah, let me know, Sarah.
Speaker 8 (21:29):
So yeah, that's tonight.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
At seven awesome and Bailey will be I will be there.
Are you going to be pitching? No, no, we haven't
pitched anybody at me.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Sarah and Katie Cap always go, but we just go
for the vibes and to maybe talk to somebody.
Speaker 8 (21:41):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
And then number one is the there's a band called
Cuckoo used to be Cuckoo Kangaroo.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
It's a kid's band.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
I went to this during artiworl one year at Bajaus
and it was hilarious, like the silliest songs and the
kids go nuts. So it's just all for the kids,
but they just I don't know, it's kind of like
veggietails on but like.
Speaker 8 (22:00):
Okay, hip hop.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
I don't know, but it's adults performing for kids.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Two guys that are from Minneapolis actually, and now they
tour the country and stuff, but they'll be at Summerfest
in Minetanka at the Civic Center Park tomorrow five forty five.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
It's hilarious, like.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
One of the top ten funnest things I've ever done
with my kids.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Really, like, just look them up online. It's hilarious.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
I think they have like cuckoo koo yep because it.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Used to be Cuckoo kangaroo.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Yeah, And they have a YouTube channel which is not
the same vibe as their concert. But I tell you,
if you are free tomorrow, I would take my kids
there anytime because it was hilarious.
Speaker 8 (22:33):
Cook hoo coo.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
So run down the list one more time, Okay. Number
five was Pride. Number four was Break the Bubble, Meet
New Friends. Number three Soul Food Festival tomorrow, Number two
Pitch are Friend, and number one Cuckoo at Summerfest.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
I love it. Are these on your Instagram?
Speaker 4 (22:50):
By are every week? Every Saturday, I post what's going
on that week? And then I just dropped my July
like top ten list, So who check it out.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
That's very cool that you do this. We need a
I'm like you to give us things to do normal mom.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I'm a cool what's your Instagram. Stephanie Instagram as Stephanie
dot Rosner R O S E n E. R is
my last name, and.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
She's also does real estate. So if you're looking to
buy or sell a home, then make sure you can
hold the Stephanie.
Speaker 8 (23:13):
I have to talk to you about that someday, Stephanie.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Yeah, we'll get connected.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
That sounds good. I'm gonna buy house one day, Dad.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Well, you can only afford to make it mortgage payment
of eight dollars and fourteen cents a month.
Speaker 8 (23:21):
Yeah, we're gonna work with what I can.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Thank you, Stephanie. We'll be back in a second with
more keywords for Sabrina Carpenter. Those go on all weekend,
so listen as much as you can. And Dave's Dirt
next on KATIEWB in need. Dave's Dirt on Katie w B.
F one comes out this weekend. That looks pretty good.
There's three movies out that I want to see, twenty
eight Years Later, F one and Mission Impossible, So I
(23:49):
want to see at least one of those this weekend.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
We'll speaking of movies, they're already green lighting the live
action Lie Low Instance two, which seems a bit premature.
I just told you not even two weeks ago. We
saw the first one. It was good. I just feel
like that should be it. Stop bringing back sequels, remakes,
live actions, cut it out of ideas.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
But you and I were big fans of Final Destination seventeen,
so yeah, they can keep back that one.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Yeah, I would say, hey, make something new.
Speaker 7 (24:12):
But then they tried with l e oh, and it
was like the biggest box office flop for.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
A Pixar, for Disney Pixar. Yeah, I'll give you one
to watch on Netflix. We started talking about this called
train Wreck and the first one. What was the first one?
We oh, poop crap, poop cruise, poop cruse. Watch train
Wreck poop Cruise. That's the best one. The rob Ford
Mayor of Toronto was a good one. And now I'm
watching I'm gonna watch Astro World, but I'm watching now
(24:38):
Woodstock ninety nine and it's just it's just a the
bockle And it was just a bad idea. But it's
such a good show of just a train wreck. It
was definitely a train wreck. Absolutely new music. You start
off with Maroon five. It's called All Night. Here's new
Maroon five. Okay, I like that one. Here's one from
(25:00):
Lord called shape Shifter. Alex Warren and Rose have one
called on My Mind. Teddy Swims has new music called
Need You More? And Wait, Why the Face Bailey?
Speaker 7 (25:17):
That one sounds like it plays during the credits of
Like a Disney Channel original movie where like the like
lead character girl like made a friendship and it taught
her something about herself.
Speaker 8 (25:26):
That's what it sounds like.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Interesting take Yeah, okay, there's something you can't mistake. Sabrina
carpenters sexually suggestive ad for Duncan. Yep, it's a Duncan
commercial with Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
Here you go, Hello, Eric, Duncan Daydream hotline. What can
I do for you today?
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (25:52):
You're hot? I see, I think I know what you're
really craving A Strawberry day Dream refresher. I'm sorry, did
you frame me? Cold foam and strawberry bliss Sabrina Strawberry
day Dream refresher Only at Duncan.
Speaker 7 (26:14):
Listening to that for the second time today, it's very
clear that she's actually not listening to the man on
the phone, because she's like, oh, you're hot after he
said oh you're hot. That seems like he was saying
a lot more. You're trying too hard to make sense
of it.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
Yeah, because I think it's dump.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I think it's clever. Listen Duncan has got two free
commercials this morning on a.
Speaker 7 (26:40):
Radio station. I have an update about Taylor Swift. We're
always looking to talk about Taylor Swift. So you know,
at all of her heirs tour and like just tours
in general, they do the little friendship bracelet thing and kids,
like our girls, adults exchange friendship bracelets. Well, she bought
a friendship bracelet that they had at one of her
tour stops for thirteen thousand dollars because it was giant,
(27:05):
and they wrapped it around the arena of one of
the places that she had her concert. Okay, so she
bought it for thirteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Taylor did.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Taylor Swift did, which I think is kind of sweet.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
Like here, I'll buy your giant giant friendship bracelet.
Speaker 8 (27:20):
Okay, that's cute.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Georgie's brought to you by six one two Injured Himer
and Lammer's Injury Law. Hey, one thing we missed on
the rundown and things going on this weekend. Mung International
Freedom Festival is this Saturday and Sunday in McMurray Field
in Saint Paul and I went over there a couple
of years ago, mostly for the food.
Speaker 7 (27:37):
Apparently it's also top the Tator Days in Farmington, Shut.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
According to Kathy, told us that sounds fun.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Jelly Roll was suggested by his wife that they should
try role plane. Role plane. Okay, I don't know, you're
like the student and the teacher, or the boss and
the nurse employee and the nurse and the doctor whatever
it is. So here's what Jelly Roll said to his wife.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
My husband, that we could role play.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
And I was like, because I go, I'm gonna do it.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
He goes, I'm not. And then what did you say
after that?
Speaker 2 (28:07):
I said, I did not work ten years to get
the marriage.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
I want to spend the night acting like.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
It's not the marriage I want to and I have
worked hard to get the marriage.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I won't.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
I'd like to keep it just it.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
I don't think it's that big a deal. It's one night.
I have a little fun switch it up, you know.
Yeah it sounds really awkward, you know, but just don't
ever do it again. I'm going to pretend that I'm
the doctor and you're the nurse, and then, Okay, this
sounds weird.
Speaker 7 (28:31):
Can we pretend one day I come in and that
I don't know you? And then we can just sit
across from each other and pretend that we're strangers. Might
liven it up a little bit, Dave, do you want
to pretend we're strangers one day?
Speaker 1 (28:42):
No? No, maybe, because the less time I spend with you,
the happier I am.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
I'm saying it during the show.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
I don't want to come be fun. No.
Speaker 6 (28:51):
No, let me tell you all the people that have
shown up so far for this, Jeff Bezols.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Is the wedding of the century, not the wedding of
the year, the wedding of the century.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
It's in Venice, and apparently it's gonna cost millions of dollars.
A lot of the Kardashians and the Jenners are there,
Evanka Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Orlando Bloom who is
no longer with Katy Perry, so he's gonna be a
freak out there. Probably Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ursha baby,
It's gonna be big. Apparently there's been rumors that they're
(29:19):
already married, and this is just like a ceremony. But
then they say the ceremony is today, So but yeah,
wedding of the century for sure.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
I'm excited to see her very expensive dress, and I'm
sure it will be very expensive and very fancy. The
more pictures I see of her, though, gosh, she's had.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
A lot of work done, Lauren Sanchez, and I don't
even know what she looks like.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
Well, she's had a lot of fillers in her face,
but her neck is old, so I don't know this.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
I feel like she needs to go to christ Johner's lady.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
How old is she? I don't know.
Speaker 8 (29:45):
I'm looking at it right now.
Speaker 6 (29:46):
So Jeff Bezos is sixty one, she's fifty five, Okay, okay,
when your next starts to go.
Speaker 7 (29:50):
But she's I mean, she's got a lot of filler
because her mouth looks like half the size of her face,
which is not normal. So she's just kind of had
some work done. But you know what you do, Girly pop,
if you like it, you like it.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
We don't, but you can't, don't.
Speaker 8 (30:04):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
So the defense team of Ditty will counter the prosecutors
closing argument so Diddy's mom and adult kids are expected
to attend to the closing argument today like they did
for the prosecution. So the US attorney, Christy Slavic's sent
more than five hours summarizing the case against Ditty. They
(30:24):
asked the jury to convict him on all counts of
sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering. Quote
he thought that his fame, wealth and power put him
above the law. This stops. Now it's time to define
the defendant guilty. And it's basically possible that the deliberations
start today if the defense only makes a brief presentation,
(30:47):
and that sounds like their strategy. I think their strategies
like you got nothing to try is for everything was consensual,
then you cannot prove otherwise and the burden of the
proof is on the on the prosecution.
Speaker 7 (30:58):
I'll be interested to see what happens and like what
the outcome turns out to be, because that'll be a
big day in the court for sure.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Dave, have you ever heard of Anna Wintour? Tell me
who Anna win Tour is?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Ani win Tour was? I do know her name, but
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
Yeah, well, she is the editor in chief of Vogue
Ogue Yeah yeah, sure yeah, and she is stepping down
after thirty seven years of being the editor in chief
of So imagine being the person who becomes the editor
in chief after her, Like, gosh, what pants to fill?
Because I think I'm pretty sure that the devilwares Prada
with Meryl Streep. I think Meryl Streep is was based
(31:37):
on based on Ana tour. Yeah, so long long legacy.
Speaker 8 (31:41):
But she's done. D you win?
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Done Okay, and that is the dirt We are done.
